Disney World 2023 Tickets & Resort Bookings Open June 8

I’ve learned one of the many tricks to life is to have something to look forward to, and I’ve got some news to share today that will let you make a future Walt Disney World Resort getaway that next thing for you!   

On June 8, you’ll be able to begin making your travel plans for next year as Walt Disney World Resort will open bookings for theme park tickets, Disney Resort hotel stays and packages for visits in 2023.   

Whether you are joining us during the remainder of the 50th Anniversary celebration or arriving just in time for that summer sunshine, you’ll soon be able to start planning your 2023 Disney visit through DisneyWorld.com or your preferred travel professional. There is so much to look forward to at Walt Disney World, including the debut of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind on May 27, the launch of MagicBand+ this summer, the return of more live entertainment – and even more on the horizon! 

And with a new year, how about some more park time? Our very popular early theme park entry benefit for Disney Resort hotel guests will continue beyond the 50th Anniversary for visits throughout all of 2023! This benefit gives Disney Resort guests an opportunity to enter ANY of the 4 Walt Disney World Resort theme parks to enjoy select attractions, shops and dining EVERY day (valid admission, park reservation and Resort ID required).

With the launch of new bookings, we will also make an adjustment to how guests purchase Disney Genie+ service, which remains popular and in high demand amongst our guests. From the beginning, our goal has been to launch, learn and evolve as we see how guests are using this service.

Starting June 8, Disney Genie+ will only be offered for purchase through the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit – we will no longer offer the option to purchase this service pre-arrival as a ticket add-on for dates remaining in 2022 and in 2023.  

This means that, moving forward, whether you have an Annual Pass, multi- or single-day ticket, you may only purchase Disney Genie+ service on the day of your visit via the app, one day at a time, subject to availability. We’re focused on delivering the best possible guest experience, and this adjustment will help manage the incredibly strong demand our guests have shown for Disney Genie+.

We expect that, on average, guests who purchase Disney Genie+ service will continue to enter 2-3 attractions or experiences each day using the Lightning Lane entrance when the first selection is made early in the day. 

If you already purchased a ticket that includes Disney Genie+ service for dates later in 2022, don’t worry – you’ll be able to use the service during your visit. Please also note this update is also only happening at Walt Disney World Resort and will not affect guests at Disneyland Resort, as the services vary at each destination.  

We are listening to your feedback and are exploring ways to make our theme park services better and easier to use – we’ll stay in touch about future updates to help you prepare and plan.

Het is vanuit Nederland nog steeds niet mogelijk om te boeken voor 2023. Ondanks dat op de site vermeld staat dat het vanaf 8 juni mogelijk is.

Seriously? Who are these guys listening to? So now I’m supposed to stay awake after midnight on the day of my visit in order to purchase genie+ then I’ll have to get up before 7 to try to book the rides I wanna go on, considering I’ll be on vacation this is a hell of a burden, imagine how frustrating it’ll be when after doing all of that you still can’t really get the attractions you were looking forward to. Disney just seems to be going opposite convenience

I’ve been contemplating taking my two children to Disney for the first time and based off my research thus far, this is ridiculous. How many hoops must there be to book a family vacation? This is overwhelming and frankly gives me anxiety that I’m going to miss one of the millions of steps or required purchases and ruin the entire vacation. You essentially need a travel agent by your side to ensure you’ve booked everything properly. Disney needs to return to the basics. Tickets, Reservations upon reservations, multiple passes, required ‘options’ to even remotely enjoy your time. Enough.

How much more does Disney think they can squeeze out of their guests. alL these changes are just in the name of GREED. No normal family can afford to visit WDW iit is a resort solely for the rich.

I have made reservations for 2023 through the UK site which allows me to purchase Genie+ – will this still be able to be used as per the current system?

So when will the dining plan and annual pass sales resume?

First, how is this article not showing under the Walt Disney World section of the site? I had to search to find this article. Also, what feedback are you getting for this change? Is this from actual guests or your managers? From the feedback I’ve heard from multiple people that have visited are they view the service as a necessary evil, not something they actually like. No one likes paying for something that was free and offered unlimited rides (if available).

Are you saying that now instead of being able to have Genie+ paid for and ordered ahead of time, ensuring that we will have the best possible chance to ride everything we want, I will now have to wake up at midnight each day of my trip and *hope* I’m fast enough to purchase before it sells out, then also wake up at 7AM the same day to fight for ride bookings? This is an absurd plan, I hope we are all misunderstanding. I have tried to make the best of the new policies but this makes no sense.

So, now instead of conveniently being able to purchase Genie+ before arrival, I need to wake up early every day of my trip in order to pay for the previously free service before it sells out? What feedback are you listening to?

Feel like a celebrity as you dine at one of the most historic Hollywood “it” restaurants. Be sure to try the Cobb salad, named after the original owner, or a delectable grilled filet of beef. Check out Hollywood memorabilia and enjoy fine dining all in one swoop.

Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano

Everyone’s family as they step into this classic, family-style Italian restaurant. Casual and kitschy (think red-checkered tablecloths and décor hanging from the ceiling), this spot makes you feel right at home with traditional favorites like chicken alla parmigiana and spaghetti and meatballs. Adults will enjoy the selection of Italian and Californian wines, and kids won’t want to share their delicious flatbreads.

Rizzo the Rat from the Muppets and his lovable gang are the proprietors of this 2-story, family-style pizzeria. Pizza pies are delicious and varied. Traditional Italian desserts like tiramisu and cannoli are foolproof favorites. Be sure to hit the second story: It’s aptly named Rizzo’s Deluxe Supreme Banquet Hall, since it’s themed after a wedding reception complete with a disco ball and a catchy play list. Of course, it’s the place to see and be seen.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

Hop into a '50s-style drive-in designed with parked cars that serve as restaurant booths all facing a movie screen. Clips from sci-fi movies’ heyday include menacing mummies, dangerous robots and aliens in attack mode. If you can peel your eyes away from the movie screen or your plate, then you’ll notice the ceiling is a star-filled sky. The classic American burger and Buffalo chicken salad are two moviegoer favorites. Leave room for dessert and nosh on a house-made sci-fi candy bar.

The Complete Guide to Disney World Ticket Prices

When Walt Disney World first opened in 1971, it included the single theme park, the Magic Kingdom. Today, the Florida mega-resort, located near Orlando, offers four theme parks and two water parks (along with a slew of hotels; two shopping, dining, and entertainment districts; and many other diversions). Through the years, the prices of Disney’s park passes—along with the variety of ticket options to access the many parks—have grown exponentially.

The bad news is that the cost for a one-day, one-park ticket for ages 10 and older has skyrocketed to as high as $159. Fortunately, there are ways to bring the price of park passes down—substantially in some cases—which we will explore in our guide below. It’s important to understand how Disney World's ticket program works so that you can make informed purchasing decisions and get the best value for your ticket.

Note that Walt Disney World is open 365 days a year. All of the theme parks are open every day (although operating hours vary according to the season ), while the water parks typically take a winter break in the off-season.

How Much Are Tickets to Disney World?

The prices for Disney World theme park tickets used to be uniform. But starting in 2016, the resort adopted a variable pricing model. It’s similar to airlines and hotels, which charge more, based on demand, during peak seasons. The practice is also known as “surge pricing.” The prices listed in the chart above represent the lowest possible costs at the least busy times of the year.

Disney World offers two ticket categories according to age level: One is for ages 10 and older; the other is for ages 3 to 9. Admission is free for children under the age of 3. Read on to learn about the types of passes and what is/is not included.

1 Park Per Day

The standard, most basic ticket, 1 Park Per Day is self-explanatory. The ticket allows a user to visit one of Disney World’s four theme parks in a single day. They are available in denominations of one day up to 10 days. The four parks are Magic Kingdom , Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios , and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The more days you purchase, the lower the cost per day. Significant savings don’t kick in until five days or more. For example, the lowest price for a one-day ticket is $109. But the per-day price drops to $88 for a five-day ticket. The savings are even better for a 10-day ticket, with a per-day price of only $52.

Be aware that once you choose the first day of any multi-day ticket, you will have a limited amount of time to use or lose your tickets. You do not, however, have to visit the parks on consecutive days. For example, for a five-day pass, you have eight days from the first day of your ticket from which to choose the five days you will visit the parks. (Years ago, multi-day Disney World tickets did not expire.) Note also that passes are non-transferable, so be sure that each member of your party has his or her own ticket.

Water Park and Sports Option

For about $70 more, you could upgrade your 1 Park Per Day ticket and get a Water Park and Sports Option ticket. In addition to being able to visit one theme park per day, you could also visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park , Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, the NBA Experience at Disney Springs, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the 9-hole Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course (which also offers a FootGolf experience), and Disney’s two mini-golf courses. The number of visits to these additional attractions is based on the number of days purchased for the 1 Park Per Day ticket. For example, a four-day ticket includes four visits, while a six-day ticket would include six visits.

Park Hopper Option

With the Park Hopper Option, you could visit multiple parks each day. For instance, you could go to Disney's Animal Kingdom in the early morning (when more animals are likely to be visible), the Magic Kingdom in the middle of the day, and cap off the evening with Fantasmic! at  Disney's Hollywood Studios .

If you are planning to spend one or two days at Disney World, the Park Hopper Option would make sense. It would allow you to visit all four parks in two days for as low as $288, or $72 per park. If you started early in the morning and stayed until the last park closed each day, you'd be getting an okay deal (and tired feet).

Park Hopper Plus Option

Park Hopper Plus tickets are almost identical to Water Park and Sports Option tickets in that they include visits to the same water parks and sports attractions. The difference is that they also allow park hopping among the theme parks.

If you're only going to be here for one or two days, we do not recommend this option. Even the most proficient multitasker would find it challenging to visit multiple theme parks plus water parks or other attractions in such a short amount of time.

Discount Pricing

• Check out authorized third-party ticket sellers, such as Undercover Tourist , that offer Disney World tickets at modest discounts.
• Disney World offers discounted tickets for Florida residents, which are available on its website .
• While Disney never discounts its theme park tickets, it does offer limited-time package deals that bundle hotel accommodations and tickets. You can find these deals and other offers on the resort’s deals and discounts page .
• Disney World offers special discounts for military members and their families . It is worth checking these out as they can offer substantial savings.

Plan Your Visit

From when to visit to making ride reservations, here's how to plan your trip to Walt Disney World to save money and get the most out of your ticket.

Best Time to Visit

It goes without saying that the busier the parks, the longer the waits for rides and attractions. You may not be able to experience as much, but ironically, your passes will cost more during peak tourist season. One way to save on tickets would be to plan your visit during the less-trafficked times of year, such as late August or September. In addition to saving money, you'll enjoy less crowded parks and get considerably more value.

As a bonus, hotels, airfare, and other costs are likely to be lower than during peak-visitation times. The busiest time of year, with the highest ticket costs, is the week between Christmas and New Year’s.

Do the Math for Water Park and Sports Option and Park Hopper Plus Tickets

Make sure that you would visit enough of the water parks and sports attractions to justify the additional cost of a Water Park and Sports Option ticket. You would certainly get a great value if you went to the water parks or attractions every day of your visit—but if you're only planning to go to one water park, the extra cost would not be worth it. Instead, purchase an à la carte ticket to visit one of the water parks for $64 and be ahead of the game.

Meanwhile, the difference in cost between the Park Hopper and the Park Hopper Plus tickets is generally only about $20. That makes the Park Hopper Plus Option a good value for visitors planning to visit even one of the water parks.

Link Your Tickets

Regardless of the tickets you end up purchasing, you are going to want to link them to what the resort calls a “My Disney Experience” account so that you will be able to use Disney’s services and plan your trip. There is both an online website and a mobile phone app that you can use in advance of your visit and while you are at the resort. It can be confusing, but it's important to understand the different elements of Disney World's trip planning resources, including  Disney Genie, Lightning Lane, MagicBands, and My Disney Experience .

Buy Your Tickets in Advance

You should purchase your tickets online . That way you can do advance planning, save money, and save time at the parks. You’ll pay $20 less per ticket when you buy three-day or longer tickets online rather than at the parks’ ticket booths.

Water parks are subject to rehabilitation, seasonal, capacity and weather closures, or may close for other reasons.

Disney Magic Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Child prices are valid for children aged 3-9 years on day of first use; children aged 10 years and above pay the adult ticket price; children under 3 years do not require a Theme Park Ticket and are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. All tickets purchased online are e-tickets.

Tickets for Special Events must be purchased separately.
