The Best 12 Things to Do in Tanjung Sepat

1. visit batu laut.

Pantai-batu-laut-tanjung-sepat

Batu Laut is the most famous beach in Tanjung Sepat. The coastline of the beach is filled with mangrove swamps, grey mud and soft sand. It has a sleepy atmosphere as there aren’t many tourists. Honestly, Batu Laut beach isn’t stunning and picturesque compared to the other beaches. However, the gloomy scene set due to the combination of dead trees and mangrove trees is beautiful.

Location: 42800 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor

2. Visit these two places Dataran Tanjong and Lovers Bridge

Lovers Bridge

Dataran Tanjong is one of the most-visited places in Tanjung Sepat. It is mainly popular because of the Lovers Bridge. The bridge was broken down back in 2013 and renovated last year. So, due to recent renovation, the place looks immaculate.

You can enjoy the nice breeze and the beautiful view from the Lovers Bridge . And I think the renovated Lovers Bridge is more beautiful than the previous one.

Location: 1124, Jalan Sekolah, Pekan Tanjung Sepat, 42800 Tanjong Sepat, Selangor

3. Visit Kampung Orang Asli Village @ Pantai Cunang

Pantai Cunang

The Batu Laut beach of Tanjung Sepat gains the interest of most of the tourists, but I’d say that Pantai Cunang is the beach that deserves the most attention. To be honest, the Batu Laut Beach seemed too gloomy to me. And for anyone like me who doesn’t like gloomy stuff, should take a stroll around Pantai Cunang instead.

Pantai Cunang is a white sand beach in Tanjung Sepat, and no other beach in Selangor has such white sands. The beach is surrounded by mangrove trees and casuarina pine trees, providing shades to the beach-goers.

Kampung-Orang-Asli-Pantai-Cunang

Kampung Orang Asli is the adjacent village to the Pantai Cunang beach. It is an aboriginal people’s village. Pantai Cunang is beautifully maintained by the Mah Meri orang Asli living in this village. They keep the beach clean by collecting plastic bottles, coconut shells, tyres, etc., from the beach and turning them into decorative materials.

I am a big fan of handicrafts. So I was quite impressed by the beautiful and creative decorative materials made by the locals. You can count my love for these these handicrafts as another reason of planning a day trip to Tanjung Sepat.

And I believe, when you will take a look at the mesmerizing beach and the beautiful handicrafts by the Mah Meri, only then you will realize why the Pantai Cunang Beach is better than the Batu Laut beach.

Location: Pantai Cunang, Kampung Orang Asli, 42800 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor

4. Stay @ Ganofarm Homestay

Ganofarm Homestay

Other than being a homestay, Ganofarm Homestay is the first mushroom farm in Tanjung Sepat. It is a four-storey building with 32 rooms, 2 multi-purpose halls, a meeting room, a common utility kitchen with kitchen facilities, a barbecue area, and a mushroom-viewing corridor.

Ganofarm Homestay is located near a well-maintained, natural, sandy, and mangrove-tree surrounded beach. There’s a wooden bridge linking the homestay to the seaside that offers spectacular views of sunset and sunrise.

5. Visit Jeti Persatuan Nelayan

Jeti-Persatuan-Nelayan

Jeti Persatuan Nelayan is a jetty for fisheries. The area has pleasant scenery, and it is a good place for a walk. There are some shops around the place from where you can buy fresh fish at a reasonable price. Though I didn’t buy any fish from there, but I am definitely gonna do that on my next Tanjung Sepat day trip.

Location: Kampung Bagan Lalang, 43950 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor

Opening Hours: Everyday | 6:00 am – 10:00 pm

6. Have fun @ Kuan Wellness Eco Park

Kuan-Wellness-Eco-Park

The unique bird’s nest ecology park, Kuan Wellness Eco Park, is a great place to observe beautiful swiftlets in their natural habitat. Other than a unique theme, this park has a beautiful landscape that includes a fountain. My daughter enjoyed the most here.

The owners are on a mission to make it the most coveted eco-tourism destination in the country, but for that, they have to make a lot of improvements. However, I have to agree that they are doing an excellent job for birdnest research and production. You can spend some time walking around and observing the swiftlets or go to the Smoke-free Eco Cafe and enjoy the taste of their high-quality bird’s nest soup.

7. See Multi-Rich Pitaya Dragon Fruit Farm

Multi-Rich Pitaya Dragon Fruit Farm

I bet that you have never seen a dragon fruit farm. So, here’s your chance to check out the most good looking bush and taste the irresistibly yummy dragon fruits. In the Multi-Rich Pitaya Dragon Fruit Farm, you will get to see the beautiful dragon fruit flower, which is bigger and brighter than most flowers.

The farm also sells dragon fruit probiotic drinks and ice creams. A bottle of dragon fruit probiotic drink costs RM 15. The ice cream is cheaper than this price and has a very light taste of dragon fruit. It is also not that sweet, so you can give it a try. You can also buy dragon fruits from the farm at a very low price.

8. Ah Hock Tanjung Sepat Bak Kut Teh (Non Halal)

Ah Hock Tanjung Sepat

I already said earlier that Tanjung Sepat is famous for its seafood. And the most famous seafood restaurant in the area is Ah Hock Seafood Bak Kut Teh. The restaurant serves a pot of bak kut teh filled with prawns, fish fillet, squid, and pork belly. Besides the Bak Kut Teh, there are a few other dishes on the menu.

For two people the cost of food will be around RM 50, which is really affordable. Unfortunately, the restaurant is non-halal and inconvenient for Muslims. If you are a Muslim I have written about some of the halal restaurants in Tanjung Sepat below, so keep on reading.

Location: Lot 2260, Jalan Besar, Lorong 7, Selangor, 45300 Tanjung Sepat

Opening Hours: Everyday | 7:00 am – 12:30 pm

9. Qing Ren Qiao Local Product Shop

Qing Ren Qiao

The Qing Ren Qiao Local Product Shop is a great place to click some nice pictures. The beautiful decorating products of the shop are highly impressive. Right near the shop, you will see the Tanjung Sepat Twin Tower. Don’t expect it to be anything like the Petronas Twin Tower.

The Tanjung Sepat Twin Tower is actually made by stacking up the traditional wine jars. You will also see some beautiful wall murals and a wishing well near the Qing Ren Qiao Local Product Shop.

Location: Jalan Senangin 1, Tanjung Sepat, Selangor

10. Joo Fa Trading

Joo Fa Trading

Joo Fa Trading is said to be one of the most famous coffee manufacturers in Tanjung Sepat. You can go on a full tour of the coffee roasting and grinding process with the owner of the place. Entering the alleyway of Joo Fa Trading, you will be so much seduced by the aroma of coffee that you won’t be able to resist entering the house where the main process of coffee manufacturing takes place.

If you are a coffee-lover, Joo Fa Trading is a must-visit on your Tanjung Sepat day trip. And even if you aren’t a coffee lover, once you smell the aroma of coffee from this place, you will definitely turn into a coffee lover. Also, don’t forget to buy coffee powder here. You can even try their coffee on-spot.

Location: No. 356, Lorong 5, Jalan Besar, Selangor, 42800 Tanjung Sepat

11. Mr Black Hand-made Pau

Mr Black Hand-made Pau

Mr Black Handmade Pau serves one of the best pau in Tanjung Sepat. So, while you are on a Tanjung Sepat day trip, make sure to buy some pau from this place. The shop is clean, comfortable, old-town style, and has a live kitchen. So, you can see the making process while enjoying the delicious pau.

They have a variety of pau on the menu, so you can choose whichever you like. Mr Black Hand-made Pau is most famous for its Golden Pau. However, for a unique taste, you can order Chicken Rice Wine Pau. Every pau costs less than RM 5, so there’s no reason for not trying one out. But again, Mr Black Hand-made Pau is non-Halal as the dish is made of pork meat.

Location: No. 7, Jalan Bawal, Taman Mutiara, 42800 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor

Opening Hours: Everyday | 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

12. Perniagaan Pau Hai Yew Heng

Perniagaan Pau Hai Yew Heng

Hai Yew Heng is another famous restaurant in Tanjung Sepat that serves pau. But the quality of the pau served in this restaurant is not as good as that of Mr Black Hand-made Pau. However, the shop always remains filled with patrons. I guess it is famous not because of the quality of the pau rather because of the fact that it was established around 40 years ago. Hai Yew Heng shop sells pau with five types of filling, and the price of pau is less than RM 4.

Location: 434, 430, Lorong 4, Pekan Tanjung Sepat, 42800 Tanjong Sepat, Selangor

How To Reach Tanjung Sepat from KL

By car: Tanjung Sepat is at a one and a half hour driving distance from Kuala Lumpur. So, I think that driving is the best option when you are on a Tanjung Sepat day trip. If driving seems tiring to you, you can book a taxi. I drove from Shah Alam to Tanjung Sepat and it took me around 1 and half hours to reach the place.

By Bus: From KL Sentral, Aerobus offers KL International Airport T2 bus services. The bus leaves every 15 minutes and will reach the airport within 1 hour. From KL International Airport T2, you can hire a taxi. Several taxi operators service this route. You will reach Tanjung Sepat by taxi from the airport within 48 minutes or so.

Another bus service named Cityliner will take you from Pasar Seni to Banting Bus Terminal. It leaves from Pasar Seni hourly and will take you to Banting Bus Terminal within 2 hours. You can take a taxi from the bus terminal and expect to reach Tanjung Sepat within 30 minutes.

If you ask me which the best option is to reach Tanjung Sepat from KL, I would say that you should choose to drive. It is the cheapest way to reach Tanjung Sepat and requires the shortest amount of time. Getting on a Cityliner bus from Pasar Seni to Banting Bus Terminal is the second cheapest option, but it requires a long time.

Other transportation methods are much more costly, in my opinion. But if you are going there with your family, just like me, you should drive or hire a taxi. No matter whichever transportation method you choose, you should leave early so that you can make the most out of your Tanjung Sepat day trip.

What to Eat in Tanjung Sepat

Mutiara Kopitiam Bagan Lalang

As Tanjung Sepat is a seaside fishing village, I suggest you try out their seafood. This place’s most famous food items are Seafood Bak Kut Teh, Pau, and traditional coffee. Keep on reading, and you will eventually find out which restaurants serve the best food in Tanjung Sepat.

However, the traditional dishes of the village are non-halal as they mostly contain pork. So, I couldn’t try out their traditional food. I tried out some other halal dishes in the nearby restaurants. Yes, there are halal restaurants nearby, so you don’t have to stay hungry throughout your Tanjung Sepat day trip.

Here are some Halal restaurants where you can have a good meal on your day trip to Tanjung Sepat. And trust me, they serve really yummy food!

So, that’s all that you can do on your Tanjung Sepat day trip. And if you ask me about my experience, I’d say that I definitely loved it there. Tanjung Sepat is a small village, so there’s not much to do. But it was a good break for me from my busy life.

If you want to know more about the village, you can find out more here . I believe visiting the village and trying out their cuisines will be really worth your time. Enjoy your Tanjung Sepat day trip !

Tanjung Sepat 1 Day Trip: What to Do in Tanjung Sepat

January 2, 2016 by summerkid_summergirl

Tanjung Sepat is a small town located in Kuala Langat district of Selangor, about 100KM from Kuala Lumpur City Centre. If you happened to be in AVANI Sepang Gold Coast and Gold Coast Morib, the two most famous resorts along Sepang Coastline for short getaway, do take a half day trip to Tanjung Sepat for some nice food, and traditional coffee. Because the town sort of, located in between these two hotels.

Tanjung Sepat 1 Day Trip

Tanjung Sepat gets its name from the word Tanjung, meaning cape in English, and Sepat, a type of fish. It used to be a fishing village but due to pollution in Straits of Malacca, this activity is becoming less intensive, but still part of the daily scene here. A half day to one day trip here during weekend or long holidays is ideal, as this place allows you to slow down your hectic pace in the city, stroll along the seaside and enjoy the gentle breeze.

How far is Tanjung Sepat from KL? About one and a half hour drive from KL City Centre. It is easy for locals to reach there by driving, but for tourists, suggest to rent a van or cab to go around tourist spots in the area.

How’s the weather in Tanjung Sepat? Depends on your luck. Either hot and humid weather with clear blue sky or rainy, gloomy sky which happened to us.

What to eat in Tanjung Sepat? Duck soup seafood noodles (we miss this), Seafood Bak Kut Teh, Minced Meat Pau, Mui Choy Pau, Traditional Kopi, and again, seafood feast in restaurant during lunch or dinner.

What to do in Tanjung Sepat? Frankly speaking, there’s nothing much to do in Tanjung Sepat. It is not as crowded as Sekinchan , even on holidays. The main reason that drives us over is the beautiful scenery of trees on beach during low tide. Other activities that sum up the whole journey. Tanjung Sepat community has opened a website, which has brief information about the town, and a tour map to guide you through. Have this with you and you are good to go. Summarize 13 things to do in Tanjung Sepat in this blog post. Here is the  Tanjung Sepat map in PDF :

Our itinerary: Ah Hock Tanjung Sepat Bak Kut Teh (1 hour)-> Lover ‘s Bridge (torn down) -> Qing Ren Qiao Local Product Shop (30 minutes) -> Qing Ren Qiao Cultural Street (20minutes) -> Gano Mushroom Farm & HomeStay (30 minutes) -> Tanjung Sepat Batu Laut Beach (1 hour) -> Kuan Wellness Eco Park (30 minutes) -> Hai Yew Heng Pau (10minutes) -> Kwa Zha B Coffee -> Mei Mei ambra Juice -> Joo Fa Coffee Trading -> Mr Black Homemade Pau (10 minutes)

Tanjung Sepat 1 Day Trip

Our journey in Tanjung Sepat began with breakfast in Restoran Ah Hock Bak Kut Teh, a restaurant famous for its seafood bak kut teh. A pot of bak kut teh brimming with fish fillet, prawns, squid, pork belly for 2, priced at RM30. You can also order other items like steamed fish, vegetables, and other “dai chao” dishes.

Tanjung Sepat 1 Day Trip

We prefer the classic version of bak kut teh over this. Herbs flavour are mild, taken over by seafood sweetness. Mixed feelings drinking bak kut teh that has complicated flavours in it. Prawns wasn’t fresh, but luckily pork meat was good.

Tanjung Sepat 1 Day Trip

2) Tanjung Sepat Lover Bridge (No longer there) 情人橋 After lunch, we drove to Lover ‘s Bridge, which was about 5minutes away from Ah Hock. Sadly, the must-visit Lover ‘s Bridge is torn down. We didn’t even have the chance to capture the “collapsed bridge” version. What welcoming us when we reached was a a lane of sand, mud, rocks and excavator. Not sure if the bridge would be rebuilt, So in case you want to take picture with bridge streches out to the sea, there are two more bridges to the left, and right of Lover’s Bridge.

3) Tanjung Sepat Wishing Trees & Wishing Well

Tanjung Sepat 1 Day Trip

Make a wish, make a wish. Who said you can’t hang a Christmas hang on a Wishing Tree? Saw this on our way to Lover’s Bridge. So cute.

4) Tanjung Sepat Twin Towers LOL. This is innovative by stacking up Nu Er Hong Chinese Wine to resemble Malaysia Petronas Twin Towers. It is located along Qing Ren Qiao Cultural Street, beside Qing Ren Qiao Souvenir Shop.

Do check out also some of the “wall art mural” along the place too!

Tanjung Sepat 1 Day Trip

Ganofarm Homestay is not only a homestay, but also an important Malaysian based mushroom research company that cultivates, develops, manufactures, markets fresh mushrooms and mushroom-based products. Ling Zhi Mushoom, Abalone Mushroom, Monkey Head Mushroom, Black Jelly Mushroom, you name it, they have it. Bought a bottle of Ling Zhi Mushroom Drink – so BITTER.

7) Kuan Wellness Eco Park 官燕苑自然生态园 Lot 408, Jalan Tanjung Layang, Kg Tanjung Layang, Mukim Batu, 42800 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor, Malaysia Contact : +603-3148 1126

Tanjung Sepat 1 Day Trip

We were quite disappointed with Kuan Wellness Eco Park. It has the most outstanding theme, outfront and landscape among all other attractions in Tanjung Sepat. They are doing well for birdnest research and production, but sorry to say that, theme park wise, they still have a long way to go.

Tanjung Sepat 1 Day Trip

When we first saw the charming windmill in some blog reviews, we thought Kuan Wellness Eco Park will be like a themepark in Hua Hin Swiss Sheep Farm, alongside with birdnest gallery and eco-tourism garden. Upon reaching, there’s only one small area with a windmill landed on meadow, a wooden cow to complete.

Tanjung Sepat 1 Day Trip

There’s an EcoFarm next to it, RM5 per person. If you wish to visit their birdnest center, RM10 per entry per person. We read from the website saying that they have a Nature Walk beside Kuan Wellness, but we just couldn’t find it. Paid RM20 for a cup of Snow Fungus Bird Nest Drink at their Smoke-Free Eco Cafe, and left after 20 minutes.

A trip to Tanjung Sepat is incomplete without sinking your teeth to Tanjung Sepat Pau namedly Hai Yew Heng Meat Pau and Mui Choy Pau. While Summergirl loves their Mui Choy Pau a lot, Summerkid on the other hand, fancy the meat pau filled with big chunks of pork meat, laced in saucy, sweet sauce akin to Char Siew Pau. Pretty different from the Meat Pau we normally have in KL dim sum restaurant. But RM2.80 for a small bun, we don’t think it worth the price. Hai Yew Heng has a new outlet in Johor Bahru Mount Austin too.

9) Kwo Zha B Coffee 古早味咖啡

tanjung-sepat-1-day-trip-what-to-do-tanjung-sepat

Kwo Zha B Coffee is located few doors away from Hai Yew Heng Pau. You can buy packets of coffee here. Free testing is available too. We were told that Joo Fa Trading, which is one street away from Kwa Zha B, offers better coffee in Tanjung Sepat,

We couldn’t locate Mr Black Home Made Pau shop in Lorong 2, so before heading back to KL, we stopped by at Mr. Black Home Made Pau new shop in Jalan Bawal ( same row with 99 Supermart) and bought some pau back home. As mentioned above, some say Mr Black produces better pau than Hai Yew Heng but we feel both has their own strength. Hai Yew Heng pau size is smaller, thinner bun, more filling, more expensive, less polite service; while Mr Black has thicker bun, denser texture, more flavourful fillings, cheaper and of course, very attentive service.

tanjung-sepat-1-day-trip-what-to-do-tanjung-sepat

We tried out Chicken Rice Wine Pau 黃酒雞包 and Deep Fried Char Siew Bun 黃金脆皮叉燒包. Chicken Rice Wine Bun sounds interesting, tastes equally unique too, just flavours of ginger was rather overloaded. Deep Fried Golden Char Siew Pau is our favourite. Mr Black Homemade Pau has been popular for their Golden Deep Fried Bun all this while. You can choose whatever pau you like, and deep fried them to get a crispy golden outer layer that adds crunchy texture to your pau, making it more “bun-licious”.

13) Batu Laut Tanjung Sepat

Keep the best for last! Our top favourite place – Tanjung Sepat beach. Too bad there’s no blue sky during our visit but the gloomy scene set off by abundance of dead trees and mangrove trees is stunning too!

We left after 1PM, skipping few other places which you may be interest, as below:

14)Multi-Rich Pitaya Sdn. Bhd A-126, Kampung Baru,43900 Sepang A dragon fruit farm, where you can purchase dragon fruit, quench your thirst with dragon fruit drink, or munch down dragon fruit ice cream.

Tanjung Sepat Day Trip (2023): Guide On What to Do & Eat

Calvin Tiew

11 Best Food in Muar for the Foodies – 2023 Edition

Where is tanjung sepat.

Tanjung Sepat is a small, coastal town located southwest of Selangor, which is just a 1.5-hour drive away from Kuala Lumpur. Due to its proximity to KL, it is a popular day-trip destination among locals for a short getaway.

1.) What to do in Tanjung Sepat

1.1 photo sessions & romantic strolls at the lover’s bridge.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by iFood Malaysia (@ifoodmalaysia)

Tanjung Sepat’s lover bridge (actually a jetty) is one of the most iconic attractions of the coastal town. It is said that the bridge got its name as it was a popular paktor (dating) spot back in the olden days. Perhaps due to its rustic outlook, taking a stroll here on the old bridge gave us unique old-school vibes.

There are also local produce stalls around the bridge so you can do some souvenir shopping while you’re here.

Address: 21, Jalan Senangin 1, Taman Tanjung, 42800 Tanjong Sepat, Selangor

1.2 Pray for good health at the Cheng Leng Kang (清龙宮) Chinese temple

The Cheng Leng Kang Chinese temple is said to have answered the prayers of many faithful devotees over the years. You can try your luck at the wishing tree here and even take some insta-worthy shots with the 12 zodiac statues while you’re at it.

The best time to visit the temple is every 29th of March of the Lunar Year as there will be a huge celebration for the gods.

Address: Pekan Tanjung Sepat, 42800 Tanjong Sepat, Selangor

1.3 Have a picnic at Cunang beach

Most tourists opt to visit the Batu Laut beach but we personally prefer the hidden Cunang beach. There are lesser crowds here as it’s slightly harder to locate but it’s definitely worth the hunt! The pearl-white sandy beach surrounded by mangrove and casuarina pine trees makes a great picnic spot.

You might even run into a few orang asli from the adjacent orang asli village here. They clean the beach frequently and turn rubbish into beautiful decorative items! So, be sure to keep the beach clean.

1.4 Shop for souvenirs at Thong Hsing Trading and Yek Loong Enterprise

Tanjung Sepat is well known for its seafood, so leaving the town with local produce is a must. Buy fresh fish products such as fishball, fucuk , fish cakes, and more from the friendly, chatty owners at Thong Hsing Trading and Yek Loong Enterprise.

1.5 Spot odd-looking mushrooms at the Ganoform Mushroom Farm

Ganorfarm is a mushroom research and development company that also promotes agrotourism activities. Apart from their mushroom cultivation farm, there’s also a gallery and a seaside homestay here with over 30 rooms and chalets.

2.) What to eat: Tanjung Sepat Food

2.1 ah hock seafood bak kut teh 阿福海鲜肉骨茶.

Many famous food critics such as Lim Kim Cherng and Axian (Jason Yeoh) have visited Ah Hock in Tanjung Sepat; FOMO was creeping up on us so we had to visit too, especially since Tanjung Sepat is popular for its seafood.

Ah hock offers various dishes such as dry bak kut teh, shark fish (curry or soy) , and fish paste soup . Among all the dishes we ordered, the seafood bak kut teh was, as expected, the star of our meal. We could taste hints of sweetness from the fresh prawns along with the herbal notes of the bak kut teh.

Operation Hours: 7:00am – 12:30pm

2.2 Hai Yew Heng Pau 海友兴手工海南包

Hai Yew Heng is one of the few places left that makes good paus by hands. They are popular for their sheng rou pau (生肉包) and mei cai pau (梅菜包). We love the combination of flavors and texture between the fillings and the pillowy soft paus.

Operation Hours: 8:00am – 7:00pm

Contact: 012-480 3551

2.3 Asam Batu Laut Restaurant 亚三峇都港海鲜饭店

Affordable seafood feast with an incredible sunset view? Yes, please! We recommend trying their steamed ma yau fish (threadfin), oh chien (fried oyster omelette), crab meat and tofu soup , salt and pepper crab , steamed clams , and marmite baby squid .

Address: Kampung Batu Lapan, Tanjong Sepat, Selangor

Operation Hours: 11:00am – 9:30pm

Contact: 019-384 4362

2.4 Rainbow ABC 彩虹ABC冰

Rainbow ABC is the perfect pit stop on a hot, sunny day trip. Help yourself to a huge bowl of shaved ice here covered in colorful syrup topped with ice cream! We love how the finely shaved ice soaked up all the sweetness from the evaporated milk.

Address: No. 13, Lorong 3, 42800 Tanjong Sepat, Selangor

Operation Hours: 1:00pm – 6:00pm

Contact: 010-540 8522

3.) Place to stay in Tanjung Sepat

3.1 haikaa retreat 海脚屋.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Josline Lim (@raballoon)

Haikaa is a back-to-nature retreat that boasts a relaxing seaview. Designed by architecture and design studio, Haus, the homestay is furnished in a laidback kampung style with wooden furniture and warm lighting. Haikaa is only a stone throw away from most of the main attractions in Tanjung Sepat. With a hosting capacity of up to 12 guests, it’s suitable for large families.

3.2 Little Dragon Homestay

tanjung sepat day trip itinerary

If designer rooms are not what you’re looking for, the budget-friendly Little Dragon homestay might be the one for you. It features simple yet comfortable and clean rooms, and a strategic location which allows easy access to many main attractions.

4.) Tanjung Sepat weather

The weather in Tanjung Sepat is not that huge of a difference compared to other parts of Klang Valley. The average temperature in the day is 33°C and 24°C at night. It’s best to check the weather online beforehand so you can plan your day trip accordingly.

Tanjung Sepat Awesome One Day Trip

Tanjung Sepat is one of the popular town in Selangor for a one day trip. Since we got a one day holiday on this year’s Wesak Day and don’t know where to go, we decided to go to Tanjung Sepat for a one day trip.  Tanjung Sepat is a fishing village and also a small town in Kuala Langat district in Selangor, Malaysia.  Since it is only one day, we couldn’t visit all the places and choose just a few of them. Here is a nice map showing most of the places in Tanjung Sepat: Map Link . You can get the print out of this map easily in the shops at Tanjung Sepat. Continue to read by blog post of where we went and what we ate in Tanjung Sepat.

The first place that we visited is a dragon fruit farm which is called Multi-Rich Pitaya Sdn. Bhd.  If you never see a dragon fruit or the plant before, you can come here to experience it but there is not much to see here as it is just dragon fruit plant.  If you have seen it, I would recommend to skip this place to save time for other places in Tanjung Sepat.

Restoran Ah Hock Bak Kut Teh, Tanjung Sepat

We didn’t spend long time here and we went to find our lunch spot which is a Bak Kut Teh shop, Restaurant Ah Hock. This restaurant only opens for lunch and we were almost late for our Bak Kut Teh.  We managed to call the boss and luckily they were expecting some tourists group so they still can serve us.

After delicious lunch at Restoran Ah Hock, we continue our journey to the Lover’s Bridge which is the main attraction at Tanjung Sepat and one of the reasons why we are here.

Tanjung Sepat famous pau – Perniagaan Pau – Hai Yew Heng (海友兴手工海南包)

After spending around 1 hour here playing on the bridges, we went to our second reason of driving to Tanjung Sepat. The Perniagaan Pau – Hai Yew Heng (海友兴手工海南包) is a very famous pau (Chinese steamed bun) shop here in Tanjung Sepat and do expect a long queue of people buying fresh pau.

Visit to GanoFarm Sdn. Bhd. at Tanjung Sepat

Our next destination is the GanoFarm Sdn Bhd .  GanoFarm is a mushroom business place and has been in business for more than 25 years. They are one of the leading companies in mushroom products in Malaysia.  There are many types of mushroom here such as the expensive Ling Zhi Mushroom with a lot of health benefits, the Abalone Mushroom which we eat with steamboat, Monkey Head Mushroom and Black Jelly Mushroom.

Healthy mushroom juice at GanoFarm Sdn. Bhd.

GanoFarm is worth to visit if you are in Tanjung Sepat, for the bitter LingZhi drink, of course.  There are other products too which you can refer in their website’s products section:  http://www.ganofarm.com/products/

Tanjung Sepat dinner at Golden Sea Restaurant (黄金海岸), Pantai Morib

Our final destination at Tanjung Sepat is our dinner place which is the Golden Sea Restaurant (黄金海岸) at Pantai Morib.  Golden Sea Restaurant is a Chinese seafood restaurant located just beside the beach of Panta Morib and you can enjoy the golden sunset while eating your crabs.

Tanjung Sepat is a nice place to visit for a one day trip especially for the pau / bao and the bridges.  You can also choose to stay overnight at some resort or hotel here such as the  Morib Gold Coast Resort  and Sepang Gold Coast . I also noticed there is this Hocks House 福苑 homestay which looks nice. Stayed at some of those places? Comment below on your thought.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - Lover's Bridge

If you’re an out-of-towner, one of the first places you should head to in Tanjung Sepat is Lover’s Bridge . This unmissable serene pier looks like the ones you would see in the coastal towns of England.

Formerly made of wooden planks, the eye-catching bridge now features a stable concrete walkway that juts far out into the Straits of Melaka. It’s frequented by locals for romantic strolls, photo ops, and sunset views.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - Lover's Bridge

In case you’re wondering, the bridge’s charming name comes from a time long ago when wives of fishermen would wait by this bridge for their safe return.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - seafood bak kut teh

The town of Tanjung Sepat is closely associated with seafood, given its close proximity to the sea. One of their food specialties is seafood bak kut teh – a twist on regular bak kut teh , with the addition of prawns and slices of fish in the usually pork-filled soup.

There are two places to try this popular meal among locals: Ah Hock Seafood Bak Kut Teh and Yikee Seafood Bak Kut Teh . They’re located just a 6-minute walk from each other, and as their name suggests, their specialty dish is seafood bak  kut teh.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - seafood bak kut teh

The dish is perfect for seafood lovers – fish fillets and prawns swim in rich, medicinal-like tea soup.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - Restoran Yitkee

The eateries can get pretty packed on the weekends, so it’s recommended to come by early – they both also open early in the morning and close around noon. You can expect to spend about RM20-40 for a meal for two at either restaurant.

There are several pitaya orchards in the area, with the fruits typically priced RM10 for 3kg.

If you’re looking to get down from your car and explore an orchard on foot, Multi-Rich Pitaya Dragon Fruit Farm is one such spot that welcomes guests to tour its grounds without an admission fee.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - dragon fruit orchard

On the weekends, you may even be able to catch the serene sight of sailboats out at sea. A sailing centre can be found here, with most of the boats bobbing on the waters training for yachting competitions.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - lorong

Much of the street food in Tanjung Sepat is hidden in its collection of 13 lorongs , lined mostly with the homes of the local Chinese community. Some of the residential units have been converted into kopitiams , temples, and shops – making it fun to spot them among the homes while you’re discovering the area.

As the lorongs comprise 2-way streets that just barely accommodate two cars, we recommend you park your car further away from the tighter spots and explore the area on foot.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - lorong

One of the most bustling lorongs is Lorong 4 , where you’ll find locals and out-of-towners swarming the streets to shop for fresh produce, freshly brewed coffee, and street food.

Just a street over from Lorong 4 on Lorong 5 is Joo Fa Trading, which you might just miss out on as the spot is flanked by homes. But the strong fragrance of coffee grounds that wafts from its entrance will let you know that you’re just steps away from this local gem.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - coffee roastery

They are a family-owned small-scale coffee roastery that roasts mainly Liberica beans the traditional way, with a wood-fired kiln. At their shop cum roastery, you can catch a glimpse of how they process their coffee beans – from de-husking the beans to roasting and packing them to be sold.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - coffee roastery

Their coffee beans are sold in sachets for convenience or by the gram for serious coffee drinkers. Different grades of coffee are available, which coffee aficionados will especially enjoy choosing from.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - snack shop

Just a stone’s throw from Lover’s Bridge is a quaint shop stocked to the brim with all sorts of traditional snacks and seafood-related products – Qingren Qiao Local Products Shop.

Things to do in Tanjung Sepat - dried seafood

Ingredients popular in the town like fresh dried shrimps and anchovies are sold by the gram, along with bottled shrimp paste and ikan parang and prawn keropok . For serial snackers, the shop also has a whole section dedicated to dried seafood snacks.

A sleepy little town has emerged as one of the most visited destinations in Malaysia. Tanjung Sepat is located a good 100 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur. The drive along the two-lane road passing lots of quaint small towns is pleasant and enjoyable. Let’s go!

A self-guided sightseeing tour is a great way to spend a day in Tanjung Sepat . The small fishing town in Kuala Langat in Selangor is named after a type of fish called Sepat .

The cape town is perfect for a day trip getaway from the city. There is so much to see and do there. Most visitors do not stay since it is only an hour plus drive from the city center. If one does wish to stay a night, there are a handful of small motels available.

It is recommended that one starts the day there early to catch a popular eatery named YiKee Seafood Bak Kut Teh . In fact, the eatery starts their food service as early as 7.30 a.m. and usually runs out of food by 10 a.m. It’s not just a tourist haunt, but many locals also flock there for a piping hot clay pot of herbal soup filled to the brim with meat and seafood.

After breakfast, take a leisure stroll through the main morning market just to check what they offer.

Then it’s off to catch some fishing docks in action, or simply head over to the farms to walk off the heavy meal. If you’ve missed the fishing boats coming in, you can still head over to some of the shops where they process the fish into fish products.

Thong Hsing Trading is located nearby the seafood bak kut teh eatery in one of the small lanes.

The fish ball factory is run in the vicinity of the owner’s home. If you’re early enough, you can catch them making fish balls and other fish products from scratch. Processing machines separate the flesh of the fish from the bones. One can buy all sorts of fish products here from fish balls to fish cakes, stuff fish paste and more.

There is also another popular place to buy or catch more fish products. And that is at the Yek Loong Enterprise fish ball factory located in a small shop lot near the main market.

Though the machines have taken over some of the more tedious work, there are still lots of work to be done by hands only and that includes this lady stuffing fish paste onto thin bean curd sheets to make Fu Chuk .

Though there are lots of farms to visit such as dragon fruit farm, longan farm and more, we opted for some cool places such as the Ganofarm .

Ganofarm is a mushroom research company that cultivates varieties of mushrooms for sale. One can catch quite a few common mushrooms they farmed there, such as Ling Zhi , Oyster , Abalone , Monkey Head and more.

Behind Ganofarm , there is a lovely area with a bridge to visit! One can actually walk out to the sea and take some great photos there, too. It is a lovely day; hence the sky is gorgeous as it meets the horizon of the sea.

There used to be another more popular bridge named the “ Lover’s Bridge ,” but that was taken down since it had collapsed earlier last year.

Near the bridge site, there are quite a few seafood restaurants that many flock to till today for seafood. A popular gift shop named Qing Ren Qiao Souvenir Shop sells lots local snacks and knick knacks.

There’re quite a few smaller pop up stalls selling food and drinks as well as sweets. This bicycle sells fried fish balls and other fish and dried seafood products that are yummy too.

For lunch, there are a few restaurants in the Lover’s Bridge vicinity, such as Ocean Seafood , Lover Bridge Tanjung Sepat , and Ban Joo Hin Seafood. Savor home cooked seafood dishes with a beautiful sea view.

After lunch, head over to Arowana Malayan Food Industries to catch some chips action. The factory produces a great variety of fried tapioca chips, vegetables chips, and more. You can catch the whole end-to-end process and buy bags of freshly fried chips.

The fascinating small town boasts many favorite local joints, where one can catch the makings of paus (fresh steamed stuffed buns) and even local coffee processing. Business has really taken off for Hai Yew Heng Pau as many locals and tourists flock there for fluffy steamed buns filled with pork, vegetables, peanut, red bean, and more.

Go early to order for takeaways as they do run out by afternoon, especially on the weekends. There is another place a few minutes away, too, for steamed paus named Mr. Black Hand-Made Pau that’s just as popular. Be ready to queue on weekends.

Near Hai Yew Heng Pau , there is also a coffee shop, Kwo Zha B Coffee . One can catch coffee beans being roasted fresh and grounded for sale. These are local strong coffee with a kick. There is another coffee place also a few lanes away named Joo Fa Trading .

After that, head over to Kuan Wellness Ecopark , an eco-friendly center where every one of all ages can benefit from a visit. The center has a collection of old classic cars all lined up for viewing.

The main center building focuses on the cultivation of bird nest. One can catch the tedious process, where many workers remove feather and dirt from the precious bird nest before it’s dried and packed for sale. Bird nest is said to have some health as well as beauty benefits.

Kuan Wellness Ecopark has a small animal sanctuary for fishes, rabbits, birds and even peacocks. For a small fee, one can enter the sanctuary that is also set with a nice landscape view of a windmill.

End your day with a beautiful stroll along the beaches to catch the sunset, or dine at one of the restaurants set along the sea with some of the freshest catch of the day.

Tanjung Sepat is truly a fascinating small town that warrants a lovely getaway from the city.

8 Things You Can Do When Visiting Tanjung Sepat, Selangor

8 Things You Can Do When Visiting Tanjung Sepat, Selangor

The sleepy fishing town of Tanjung Sepat in the Kuala Langat District of Selangor is approximately 99 km (read: a 90-minute drive) from Kuala Lumpur. It’s a good place to unwind for a quick getaway — think old-school with none of the fancy, trendy or viral-related stuff. Here is what you can do when you visit Tanjung Sepat.

1) Enjoy Homemade Pau at Hai Yew Heng and Mr Black Hand-Made Pau

Start your day with a piece of freshly-steamed pau (or two), where Tanjung Sepat has two notable locations worth checking out. First up is the decades-old Hai Yew Heng, offering classic savoury fillings like mui choy (preserved mustard greens) and sang yuk (pork meat). They also sell tau sar (red bean paste) and peanut pau if you prefer something sweet.

For Mr Black Hand-Made Pau, they have a choice of steamed and deep-fried pau. The latter’s signature Deep-Fried Crispy Bao comes highly recommended. They offer the usual steamed types but you can also find a unique addition in the form of Huang Jiu Ji (chicken rice wine) Bao.

(Mr Black Hand-Made Pau) No. 7, Jalan Bawal, Taman Mutiara, 42800 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor.

2) Savour Traditional Coffee at Joo Fa Trading

Make a stop at Joo Fa Trading to enjoy a cuppa here. The kind of freshly brewed and aromatic coffee reminiscent of the good old days. They are no stranger to the coffee-roasting business, given its long history of more than half a century. Joo Fa Trading takes pride in its entire process from the quality selection to roasting and grinding the coffee beans. The owner here is friendly and there’s even a tour available to learn more about their coffee-making methods. And yes, you can purchase their coffee powder too.

Address: 356, Lorong 5, Jalan Besar, 42800 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor.

3) Visit Lee’s Cocoa Farm

Experience a 3-hour tour at Lee’s Cocoa Farm, where you get to learn how the chocolate is made — from harvesting the cocoa fruits to the rest of the chocolate-making process, making it ideal for educational purposes. You also get to sample their artisan chocolate and its drink. They have a shop selling the likes of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, cacao nibs and sliced cakes. If you are planning to visit their farm, simply WhatsApp them for more details at 017-644 3926 . Do note they only have two slots available in a day.

(Lee’s Cocoa Shop) No 13, Medan Selera, Lorong 3, 42800 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor.

4) Make a Stop at Pantai Batu Laut

Some visitors might claim there is nothing much to see here. But its lack of popularity at Pantai Batu Laut means it’s a nice place for strolling along the beach, all away from the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle. The beach is filled with sights of mangrove swamps, muddy grey sand and calm waters. You can also choose to have a picnic or set up a camp here.

Address: 5, Kampung Batu Lapan, Tanjung Sepat, Selangor.

5) Take a Stroll at Jeti Persatuan Nelayan

Being a fishing village, it would be a waste of opportunity if you don’t stop by Jeti Persatuan Nelayan when you are in Tanjung Sepat. You can take pictures of the fishing boats moored in the river and its wonderfully scenic surroundings. And if possible, do support the stores that sell reasonably-priced fresh fish.

Address: Kampung Bagan Lalang, 43950 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor.

6) Go Sightseeing at Dataran Tanjung’s Lover’s Bridge

No visit to Tanjung Sepat would be complete without stopping by Dataran Tanjung. Or more specifically, the Lover’s Bridge that spans around 100 metres. Not only do you get to feel the breeze but also enjoy the sweeping view of the sea as you stroll along the concrete bridge. Interestingly, it was originally a wooden bridge before it collapsed in 2013 and the reconstruction subsequently took place.

7) Enjoy a Seafood Dinner at Asam Batu Laut Restaurant

This famous seafood restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. Some of their recommended dishes include Asam Steamed Fish, Mee Scampi Prawn, Sizzling Oyster and Marmite Octopus Baby. Expect a casual and laidback vibe, complete with a view of the ocean if you choose the outdoor seating.

Address: Sungai Mosok, Batu Laut, Kuala Langat, 42800 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor.

8) Spend a Night at Ganofarm Homestay

Ganofarm Homestay isn’t just a place for lodging as the place happens to be a mushroom farm and research facility as well. You can learn how the mushroom is cultivated and the types available, namely monkey head mushrooms and lingzhi (Ganoderma Lucidum). You can also purchase their freshly harvested mushrooms and other related products, namely the botanic drink made from organic lingzhi , red dates, pandan leaves and brown sugar. For enquiry, you can contact them at 019-264 2480.

Address: 700, Jalan Laut Membiru, Taman Pelangi, 42800 Tanjung Sepat, Selangor.

One day trip to tanjung sepat.

The last trip I went to Tanjung Sepat for a holiday was in 2010, exactly 12 years ago. The recent road tour to Tanjung Sepat was just decided a few days before the excursion. The place is about 1.5 hours road journey from Klang Valley without a traffic jam. We passed KLIA 2 and turned into Sg Pelek before reaching Tanjung Sepat town. At Sg Pelek, we spotted a lot of dragon fruit stalls along the roadside. At last, we decided to stop at a random stall to have a look. It was a dragon fruit stall just in front of Sg Pelek police station. We parked beside the police station which was in front of a restaurant that was safe to park without blocking any vehicles.

Shopping: Dragon fruit

We initially thought of buying the dragon fruit on the way back after visiting the town but we worried we might be late as they might close early. So we decided to buy first since Sg Pelek is known for its dragon fruit plantations (we do have an ice box in the car). And the price we expected to be cheaper than Klang Valley plus it is now the harvest season.

Tanjung Sepat

Shopping: Arowana factory (tapioca chips)

Tanjung Sepat

 Lunch: Hai Keng Restaurant

Tanjung Sepat

Visit/ shopping: Ganofarm factory

Tanjung Sepat

Their shop also sells mushroom drinks (RM2.80/ bottle). You can give it a try.

Visit: Guang Li Liang durian farm (Lot 279)

Picture: dataran tanjung/ lover's bridge.

Tanjung Sepat

Snack: Hin Leong coconut cendol

Tanjung Sepat

We decided to look for others and came back later (perhaps shorter queue). Nevertheless, when we came back around 3pm, all the coconut cendol sold out.

Shopping: Joo Fa coffee factory, Hai Yew Heng Pao, Ambarella Fruit Juice, Yek Loong, Mr Black Bean pao

Tanjung Sepat

Dinner: Tanjung Sepat Ocean Seafood

Tanjung Sepat

Overall, the dishes are also disappointing. I think Hai Keng is better than the cook here.

Shopping/picture: Qingren Qiao Local Products Shop

Tanjung Sepat

We went back with another route on that day. We passed by the Morib beach and saw a few seaside restaurants that were quite full of diners. Perhaps we could explore that next time if we have any chance later.

Sounds and looks like a fun trip. http://www.amysfashionblog.com/blog-home

Indeed it is a fun trip. Things need to be planned ahead for the place of interest nearby the area.

You have an informative blog. Well I was looking for information on Lover Bridge and it lead to your blog. I am going to a swimming event at Lover bridge in next month. I just want to have a feel on surrounding area so that I can plan my trip to there. Thanks!

Swim around Lover Bridge? The water is not that clean though....

Hello, going to visit this weekend so your blog comes in handy....anyway just wanna ask is there any parking bay available so i cn park my car (whole day perhaps ?) and walk around tanjung sepat instead of driving from 1 place to 1 place ?

Hmm it depends on where you wanna go and the climate. If it's raining then you might want to stay in the car and get closer to the destination as nearer as possible to avoid getting wet. Some places are just next to each while some you have to travel by car. Anyway, the parking there is free since all the empty slots you see at the roadside are available except someone's door front.

Day trip to Tanjung Sepat

This quiet town is an amazing choice for a one-day break from your hectic city life.

  • 28-04- 2022 01:44 PM

Signboard that greets visitors to Tanjung Sepat. -ALL PIX BY THASHINE SELVAKUMARAN

TANJUNG Sepat is a small beach hamlet located roughly 95 kilometres south of Kuala Lumpur’s city. Visitors frequently make a detour here to explore the town’s fishing villages and experience its culinary delicacies. The town is also a major agro-tourism attraction, with an increasing number of people visiting in the last decade or so. Tourist buses are a typical sight here, especially on weekends, as local and foreign tourists seeking a taste of culture and heritage find this calm and peaceful community quite appealing.

Tanjung Sepat derives its name from the words Tanjung, which means “cape” in English, and Sepat, which is a sort of fish. It used to be a fishing community, but owing to pollution in the Malacca Strait, this activity is becoming less intense, while it remains a part of the everyday scene here. A half-day to one-day journey here during the weekend or long holidays is great, as it allows you to take a break from the city’s busy pace, stroll along the coastline, and enjoy the calm air.

$!Pantai Cunang, a white sand beach maintained by the Mah Meri orang Asli living in this village.

Pantai Cunang and Kampung Orang Asli

Hidden on the outskirts of town, behind an Orang Asli village, lies a magnificent white sand beach that is one of the nicest on the Selangor coastline, known as Pantai Cunang. The beach is flanked by mangrove and casuarina pine trees, which provide shade to beachgoers. Pantai Cunang is meticulously maintained by the Mah Meri Orang Asli who reside in the nearby settlement of Kampung Koi. These industrious indigenous villagers are known for their colourful culture, handicraft abilities (including wooden masks), and environmental stewardship, and have built cottages on the beach for their personal use. They also help keep the beach clean by collecting plastic bottles, coconut shells, tyres, and other beach debris, and repurpose them into beautiful items.

$!The Jetty is a wonderful place for some interesting IG pictures.

Jeti Persatuan Nelayan

The nooks and crannies of Tanjung Sepat’s fishing village are best explored on foot, beginning near the town centre. During low tide, several fishing boats are moored, allowing you to witness how fisherman in these areas operate. There are also a few stores around where you can purchase fresh fish at a reasonable price.

$!Pitaya or dragonfruit, grown abundantly around Tanjung Sepat.

Multi-Rich Pitaya Dragon Fruit Farm, Tanjung Sepat

I’m sure most city-dwellers have never seen a dragon fruit farm. So, here’s your opportunity to see how they are grown and get a chance to sample the irresistibly delicious dragon fruits. You will also be able to observe how their flowers bloom, which is reportedly larger and brighter than other flowers, at the Multi-Rich Pitaya Dragon Fruit Farm.

Dragon fruit probiotic drinks and ice creams are also available at the farm. The price of a bottle of dragon fruit probiotic drink is RM15. The ice cream is less expensive and has a very faint dragon fruit flavour. It’s also not too sweet, so give it a shot. Dragon fruits may also be purchased at the farm for a very low price.

$!Ganofarm cultivates, develops, manufactures and markets edible and medicinal mushrooms.

Ganofarm Homestay

Ganofarm is a significant Malaysian mushroom research firm that cultivates, develops, produces, and promotes edible and therapeutic mushrooms, as well as other mushroom-based products. Among the varieties of mushrooms available are the rare and expensive Lingzhi mushroom (Mushroom of Immortality), abalone mushroom, black jelly mushroom and monkey head mushroom. Within the surroundings of the farm, there is also a guesthouse with approximately 30 rooms and chalets.

$!The Lovers’ Bridge is a bridge that leads far out to sea and it is a sightseeing attraction for visitors.

Dataran Tanjung Lovers’ Bridge

Tanjung Sepat’s Dataran Tanjong is one of its most popular attractions. The Lovers’ Bridge, which spans roughly 100 metres out to sea, is the major reason for its popularity. It appears to be dubbed Lovers’ Bridge since many couples appear to visit the bridge to enjoy the magnificent sunset.

Unfortunately, the original bridge collapsed in 2013 and had to be rebuilt. The old bridge was built out of wooden boards and had a charming, rustic appeal to it, but the current one is totally composed of concrete, an admittedly more solid material. As a result of the recent restoration, the space appears beautiful. The Lovers’ Bridge provides a pleasant wind and a lovely vista.

$!Qing Long Gong Temple, a beautiful and colourful Chinese temple.

Temple qing long gong

There is a temple located beside the Lovers’ Bridge. Tanjung Sepat has a few temples, but this one drew my attention the most. There are 12 animal zodiac figurines that are both appealing and colourful. There are inscriptions engraved on stones that describe each trait. There is also a tree where you may make a wish with a ribbon and a Yue Lao statue (old man under the moon). In Chinese mythology, he is known as the God of Marriage and Love. He is also known as the “heavenly matchmaker.” He appears as an elderly man holding a romance novel in his right hand and a walking stick in his left.

$!A notably very famous local products shop.

Qing Ren Qiao Local Product Shop

The Qing Ren Qiao Local Product Shop is an excellent location for taking photographs. The shop’s lovely decoration supplies are quite stunning. There are also some lovely wall paintings near the Qing Ren Qiao Local Product Shop.

$!Joo Fa Trading is one of the famous local coffee manufacturer cum trader in Tanjong Sepat.

Joo Fa Trading

Joo Fa Trading is claimed to be one of Tanjung Sepat’s most well-known coffee manufacturers. When you reach the alleyway of Joo Fa Trading, the scent of coffee will entice you so strongly that you won’t be able to resist entering the home where the main process of coffee manufacture takes place. Joo Fa Trading is a must-see on your Tanjung Sepat day trip if you enjoy coffee. Even if you’re not a fan of coffee, once you smell the scent of coffee emanating from this establishment, you will undoubtedly become one.

$!Mr Black Hand-Made Pau , one of the two famous pau in Tanjong Sepat.

Mr Black Bao Shop

Mr Black Bao Shop is one of the area’s two well-known dumpling shops. The family-run business has been in existence for around ten years and is located on a shop lot facing a major road. They have around ten different bao varieties on the menu that you may choose from the steamer based on what is available at the moment. Every pau costs less than RM5, so there’s no excuse not to give it a try. Take note that Mr Black Hand-made Pau contains pork.

This is all there is to your Tanjung Sepat day visit. And if you ask me about my experience, I would say I had a great time there. Tanjung Sepat is a tiny hamlet with a few attractions. But it was a nice break from my hectic schedule. I feel it will be well worth your time to visit the village. Have a great time on your Tanjung Sepat day trip!

Day Trip to Tanjung Sepat

What do you do on a long weekend? Take a road trip! And all the much better if that trip includes food!

Yeahhh! So that’s how we decided to take a drive to Tg Sepat last weekend. In fact, my friend Z and I had wanted to go the weekend before but I managed to catch a bad cold that Saturday, so we decided to postpone the trip. After reading about Ciki’s post on her trip there and with Z’s strong recommendation, Tg Sepat became a “must-go” place! And since my other good friend, X was also back in town, it was a perfect time to go for this mini adventure!

It was a cloudy morning when we set out after breakfast … downcast skies and all… but nevertheless the drive to Tg Sepat was pleasant. It took about an hour from Shah Alam and traffic was great. We reached the little town at almost noon time and the first place we went to was the wet market. We were hoping to buy some fresh fish – we brought along our cooler bags too. However, we were disappointed as there was hardly any fish left at the stalls. The fishmongers told us to return in an hour or so when the next batch of fresh catch would arrive. It was already starting to drizzle when we reached the market.

Well, we didn’t do too badly either – we bought almost 100 paus among ourselves, haha!
