Our journey to Leeds Castle commences with a picturesque drive through historic Greenwich , an iconic district renowned for its maritime legacy and architectural grandeur, with landmarks like the Old Royal Naval College.

Known affectionately as The Loveliest Castle in The World , Leeds Castle boasts an illustrious history spanning nearly 900 years. From its humble medieval origins to its prestigious role as a haven for figures such as Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, Leeds Castle is a testament to opulence and elegance. Set amidst 500 acres of magical parkland and gardens, the castle's allure has beckoned no fewer than six English queens to call it their private retreat.

The Princess Alexandra Gardens are nestled along the tranquil River Len with vibrant hues of daffodils, narcissi, and anemones, painting a vivid tapestry of nature's beauty. Along the seasons, guests are treated to the stunning blooming of azaleas and rhododendrons.

Beyond its architectural splendour, Leeds Castle offers many immersive experiences , from captivating falconry displays to tales of history.

Upon arriving in Canterbury , you'll swiftly discern why this captivating ancient city holds a place of honour as one of Kent's most cherished treasures. You'll be seduced by its medieval streets, its culinary delights and its vibrant array of shops, which promise an unforgettable experience.

At the nucleus of this walled enclave stands the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral , an architectural masterpiece from the 11th century. This iconic landmark not only serves as a testament to centuries of history but also as a symbol of Canterbury's enduring legacy .

Having drawn pilgrims and visitors since the Middle Ages, today, Canterbury Cathedral stands as one of the most visited places in the country , maintaining its status as a vibrant, functioning church and community.

Founded by St Augustine in 600 AD , Canterbury Cathedral is an exemplary masterpiece of Gothic architecture , captivating visitors year-round. Immerse yourself in the remarkable design and explore the sacred ground where Archbishop Thomas Becket met his fate in 1170 , a moment etched into the annals of history.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site , Canterbury Cathedral seamlessly blends holiness and tourism, offering a serene sanctuary and a captivating destination for travellers. Serving as the Cathedral of the Archbishop and the spiritual leader of the Church of England , Canterbury holds a distinctive place in the tapestry of English history.

Far from ordinary, Canterbury Cathedral is often called 'England in Stone,' with its extensive history interwoven into the nation's narrative. The influential Archbishops played pivotal roles in shaping England, from their involvement in creating the Magna Carta, a landmark document in history, to engaging in power struggles with the King of England.

Explore the rich history and spiritual significance of Canterbury Cathedral, where every stone echoes with the stories of the past. Uncover the profound impact of this historic site and its Archbishops, who left an indelible mark on the evolution of England itself.

Explore Canterbury, a pivotal pilgrimage destination in Europe, its historical significance intricately tied to the tragic murder of its renowned Archbishop, Thomas Becket, in 1170 .

In a moment echoing through time, King Henry II's exclamation during a prolonged dispute set in motion a fateful event. Four knights journeyed to Canterbury, culminating in the martyrdom of Thomas Becket in what is now known as the Martyrdom Site .

The Miracle Windows , housed in Trinity Chapel, vividly depict the miracles attributed to Thomas Becket after his murder. These intricate stained-glass windows served not only as a testament to the glory of God but also as a means to educate and captivate pilgrims. Many of these visitors, unable to read and write, found enlightenment and entertainment in the vibrant tales portrayed through the artistry of the stained glass.

Indubitably, the White Cliffs of Dover stand as one of the United Kingdom's most awe-inspiring natural wonders, officially recognised as an iconic symbol of Britain and an enduring beacon of hope and freedom across the ages.

During our journey, we'll stop for you to capture stunning photos of the majestic White Cliffs, their chalk grassland beauty forming a picturesque backdrop alongside the English Channel. Seize this opportunity to delve deeper into the intriguing military and penal history of the White Cliffs, guided by our expert, who will provide enriching insights into this captivating landscape.

Pixies announce 2025 European tour and drop new single - see full list of dates here

The 'Where Is My Mind' hitmakers will perform in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, London, Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff, Newcastle and Manchester in May 2025

Pixies have announced a new tour and shared their latest single Motoroller

  • 19:33, 17 Sep 2024

Pixies are set to rock the UK and Europe with a 2025 tour, unveiling their latest single 'Motoroller' to fans' delight.

The iconic band will start their musical journey in Utrecht, Netherlands on April 25, before hitting stages across Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, and Portugal. They'll then storm the UK, beginning in Aberdeen on May 13.

With nine gigs planned across Britain, including Edinburgh's O2 Academy and a double-header at London's O2 Brixton Academy, as well as stops in Leeds, Birmingham, and Manchester, the tour is one of the most anticipated for Pixies fans.

Following their acclaimed performance at All Points East festival in London, the 'Where Is My Mind' hitmakers - Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering, and Emma Richardson - are riding high on critical success. Their new single 'Motoroller', a part of their forthcoming album 'The Night The Zombies Came', takes listeners on a Berlin scooter adventure with Francis.

Discussing the track, he explained: "This is one of those kinds of songs where there's little threads you can follow and they take you somewhere. But they're not required for the experience. You can just start fishing around in the lyrics, and maybe you won't find exactly what the story is, but you'll find a story related to the city of Berlin. So just have fun with the clues that are there."
