Two cross-country flights and a total of 11 in-flight hours later, I can definitively say that the new camel sweatsuit from the Who What Wear collection just became my go-to travel outfit. I regularly get the pleasure of testing out new arrivals from our namesake collection at Target , and on this particular occasion, as I strolled into the studio where all our samples are held at Who What Wear HQ, I instantly locked eyes with a certain sweatsuit from the collection's January drop and promptly made it mine.

I recently wore the Long-Sleeve Slouchy Sweatshirt ($33) and Cozy Wide-Leg Pants ($32) on a weekend trip from one coast to the other. This six-hour flight is hardly casual, so it really put my travel outfit to the test, but I can happily report that the set passed with flying colors. I could go on and on about it, but instead, I narrowed down the four reasons it helped me nail airport dressing:

The camel color makes it look far more expensive than the price tag would have you believe.

The soft feel of the material made me never want to take it off.

The separates are easily styled alone or together, as I quickly learned. I only packed a carry-on for my weekend trip, so to stretch out my outfits, I wore the hoodie by itself with a pair of jeans and sneakers. I also wound up styling the pants with a white T-shirt.

It's all in the styling. I'll admit I was nervous that sweatpants and a hoodie would look sloppy, but the coordinating wool coat and combat boots really pulled it all together. The head-to-toe neutral color proved to be a great canvas for standout accessories too.

Actually, I have it in three colors,” she shares. Over the past few years, I've been fortunate enough to wear-test tons of pieces from the brand's athleisure label, FP Movement, for numerous adventures from yoga to hiking and mountain biking. The activewear is among my favorites, but the sweats, mmm, yes, they’re good. Not only do the silhouettes always seem to hit just right, but the colors are always so joyful with so many options in best-selling styles like this set, and crafted from feel-good fabrics that always feel like a loving hug.

This set is tried and true. Even after a few spills, it triumphantly emerged from several washes relatively unscathed and retained top-notch quality. Look-wise, the Boyfriend Sweatshirt stands out with its relaxed dropped shoulder, a wide crew neckline, and slightly structured yet soft brushed cotton with ribbed knit trim for an elevated touch. Similarly, the High Waist Sweatpants, designed for maximum comfort, feature an elastic waistband and useful side pockets that I frequently load with my chapstick and a back-up hair elastic. I chose the Large size for a roomier feel (not when pregnant), and I'd recommend the same for those seeking a more relaxed fit. A thinner, shirt-like crewneck like this one creates a more refined appearance when paired with the Balance Pant — a departure from the ubiquitous activewear silhouettes of leggings and fitted tops. If you took one step through my one-bedroom Los Angeles apartment, “minimalist” might be the last word that comes to mind. With each nook and cranny piled up with heaps of products I’ve set aside for article reviews, TikTok unboxings , and honestly who even knows what else at this point, my living space is definitely eventful , you could say. But when it comes to packing for any trip, I’m the ultimate minimalist. I’d love to say it’s because I’m a naturally sensible person — but really it’s because I despise schlepping more than anything on the planet. Therefore, the more practical I can be with one medium-sized suitcase (and a tote), the better. 

My packing skills were put to the test last month when I set sail on the brand new Carnival Firenze ship. Hopping on board for an eight-day press trip from Long Beach, Calif., to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, I knew I’d need to pack for warm weather at the stops, but cold weather at sea. I’d need to avoid structured, bulky pieces, while stuffing in as much thin (yet durable) material as I possibly could. I’d also need to take into account the dressy nights that may call for more accessories. I wasn’t taking my portable steamer , so I’d need pieces that wouldn’t wrinkle easily. 

And what did I learn? It can be done! I relied heavily on two-piece sets from Amazon . They’re comfy, stylish, and budget-friendly. Below are the only six outfits I needed to get through my trip—along with some accessories to elevate the looks. 

Anrabess Knit Sweater Pullover Crop Top + Pants

The key to cruising is looking stylish while staying comfy. You’re eating a lot and lounging, but you’re also seeing a lot of people, so you don’t want to look like you just rolled out of bed. This two-piece set is not only made with cozy knit fabric, but it has a loose fit that allowed me to make a few extra stops at the breakfast buffet without having to undo any buttons. This look took me from morning until the time I showered and changed for dinner.

I’ve been on a pink kick lately, but the set comes in 26 additional colors, so saying you have options is an understatement. If you’re after that same elevated casual aesthetic but you want to stay a bit warmer, the same brand offers a two-piece sweatsuit with an oversized zip-up sweatshirt. Sizes for both sets go from XS to XXL.

Verdusa Loose Bell Sleeve Pleated Crop Top and Wide Leg Pants Set

There were two fancy or “cocktail attire” nights on the ship, and this was one of my go-tos. The two-piece set checked all the boxes. It was extremely easy to pack, universally stylish (I think it’s a win for everyone), has an elastic waistband which I’m always a fan of, and it looked luxe with an under $35 price tag. I received the most compliments in this outfit, and because I wore it so early in the trip, it made a great first impression. Cropped tops can be intimidating, but I felt covered enough with the high-waisted bottoms. If you want to avoid revealing midriff while sticking to a similar print, I recommend the Reaseral Off Shoulder Printed Long Sleeve Wide Leg Pants Set . The top is loose-fitting and the bottom features an elastic waistband. 

Floerns Crop Tube Top and Split Long Skirt Set

For the Cabo portion of my trip, I wanted something cropped, cute and solid-colored so I could throw my hair up in a bun and let my makeup and accessories make the statement. We spent the day on a yacht, and my Cabo look was my favorite of the entire trip. The actual outfit I wore was the Peixoto Women’s Louisa Crop Top and its accompanying Peixoto Women’s Valentina Skirt , but the combo is on the more pricey side. I was able to find something similar at a much more accessible price point, sold as a set . 

The option I’ve listed is lightweight with a thinner material, which is essential for packing and will come in handy when you’re in hot temps (a la Cabo). It also comes with pockets and two long slits up the sides. I especially like the solid-colored skirt option because you can mix and match with other tops, like the Miracmoda Off Shoulder Ruched Tie Back Crop Top that comes in 22 colors and sizes small to XXL.

Artfree Womens Loungewear Set 

To say I’m obsessed with this two-piece set is an understatement. I wear it all the time. I’m impressed with the high-quality material, fit, comfortability and overall aesthetic. It’s a stylish, luxurious ensemble at a remarkable price point. It can be dressed up with heels for a big night, it can be dressed down with flip flops for eating and lounging. It’s also great for mixing and matching. I’d often slip the pants on for breakfast or lunch on the ship, and pair them with a casual cropped tee like the Artfish Women’s Fitted Casual Crop Top , or the MakeMeChic Women’s Summer Crop Top Twist Front T-Shirt . 

There are several shades to choose from with my beloved set, but I’m partial to the Barbie pink. I get so many compliments. If you’re a bold color girlie like me, you can also try one of the Kaimimei Linen Long Sleeve + Flare Pleated Wide Leg Pants Sets . They’re styled similarly to the outfit I wore, but with slightly more lightweight material and a greater selection of color options. 

Wimsihal Women’s Square Neck Casual Party Mini Dress

This was the It-item that made me an Amazon loyalist. The flirty, fun, timeless party dress goes with me everywhere—and it made a splash (pun intended) during our first dinner at sea. It truly is the ultimate LBD. It’s short enough to show a little leg, but long enough to avoid feeling uncomfortable. It also offers a little skin reveal in all the right places. 

When I tell you I take this with me when I want an instant confidence boost, I mean it. It’s the easiest piece to accessorize, and I absolutely live for the elastic stretch. I’m a curvy girlie, so zippers and tight fitting material are my worst enemies. None of that is present here. I also love the versatile short sleeves. They can be worn as is or off the shoulder. If you want to go for a similar style but change up the length, I also love the SweatyRocks V-Neck Short Romper and the Cegerne Short Sleeve Wide Leg Pant Jumpsuit .

Ceci Erlich Scallop Slip Midi Dress

Anthropologie

My cherished Anthropologie maxi floral dress that I wore to the second formal night on the ship is sadly no longer in stock, but I found a stylish replacement that checks all the boxes of the former. This harmonious array of color was designed exclusively for Anthropologie, and it features an easy tie in the back. This is a dream for me, someone who despises buttons and zippers. It’s easy to slip on, with a long slit on the side to conservatively show a little leg. 

If you want to stick to the floral theme of the original dress, I also love Anthropologie’s Hutch Sleeveless V-Neck Cutout Midi Dress . It’s similarly easy to slip into and it fits the cocktail theme I was going for with the first. I love a sleek all-black moment, but I’m also drawn to color, so a comfy yet classy dress like this one is an ultimate win. The tiny cutout offers a peek of skin without revealing too much.

If you want to know my true can’t-leave-home-without pick, it’s a pair of these thick cushion slides. Not only are they extremely comfortable (truly, like walking on clouds), they serve many purposes. I wore them casually on the ship with my Anrabess Knit Sweater Pullover Crop Top + Pants for breakfast and lunch. 

I also wore these Amazon number-one best-sellers with my Hue Women’s Mini Crew Socks as I headed down to morning yoga (a refreshing way to kick off my day on the boat). At night, when I made my midnight rounds to the ship’s 24-hour ice cream stand, I’d slip these on with my cozy Artfree Women’s Loungewear Set , and call it a day. Obviously my black pair is the most versatile, but they come in 15 colors to choose from, so a fun pop of color isn’t out of reach!

If there’s any piece of shoe advice I can offer on a cruise, it’s this: Do not overdo it. All you need are a reliable pair of slippers or sandals (see above) and a versatile pair of open-toe heels you can dress up or down. You’ll be lounging most of the time anyway, so you really only need a heel for the nice dinners. I lived in these Bottega Veneta-inspired sandals . Limeeke One Piece Solid Ribbed Bathing Suit

I spent more time in loungewear than I did in the actual water, so I didn’t find it necessary to overpack swimwear. The key was finding a flattering piece I could wear with anything. This affordable one-piece features ribbed detail, soft material, stretch and comfort. It also offers fun colors to choose from, and a stylish low back. The suit pairs perfectly with my Peixoto Women’s Valentina Skirt and the bottoms from my Artfree Womens Loungewear Set .

When it comes to handbags or clutches on a cruise, all you need are two items. After Jordan Woolery knocked in the tying RBI triple in the bottom of the seventh against Virginia Tech, UCLA players burst out of the dugout in celebration. The outcome in the second game of the NCAA regional semifinal wasn’t sealed, but Thessa Malau’ulu already knew.

Standing at the top of the dugout stairs, the UCLA third baseman mimicked scribbling in the air and yelled toward Woolery: “It’s already written.”

UCLA coach Kelly Inouye-Perez reached out to Gonzalez, who has worked with star athletes including Dodgers star Mookie Betts , Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson and Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Chris Godwin, at the suggestion of a mutual friend. The 18-year head coach knew she didn’t have the answers for how to get past UCLA’s first winless postseason in more than a decade.

Gonzalez was driving when Inouye-Perez called with her pitch. The team, seeded second in the NCAA tournament last year after its best regular-season since 2001, had experienced major trauma by being swept in the regional at home . The Bruins felt embarrassed.

“They were,” Inouye-Perez continued on the phone.

“Frozen?” Gonzalez interjected.

“Her whole thing was how do we get them to not feel so stuck in that,” Gonzalez said sitting outside the UCLA clubhouse at Easton Stadium, “but then once we got them unstuck, it became how do we build them into these warriors that have an advantage over everyone mentally.”

Gonzalez’s work has helped the Bruins (42-10) become the hottest team in the country with 13 consecutive wins heading into the World Series, where they face No. 14 Alabama (38-18) in the first round Thursday at 9 a.m. PDT (ESPN) at Oklahoma City’s Devon Park. They flexed their mental muscle with five comeback wins of four or more runs, including the thriller against Virginia Tech in the NCAA regional that ended with a Savannah Pola walk-off RBI single.

On the field at Easton Stadium, UCLA’s Sharlize Palacios jumped into Gonzalez’s arms. He lifted the All-Pac-12 first-team catcher into the air.

Trained as a marriage and family therapist, Gonzalez acknowledged that what he does is different in the realm of sports psychology. He uses neurophysiology techniques that go beyond traditional talk therapy.

Consider the pitcher who gets shelled early in a game, Gonzalez said. A player’s body can hold onto that traumatic memory by tightening up the next time on the field. With Gonzalez’s guidance, players learn to work through difficult memories while listening to music and gazing into the distance. They try to access those moments, feel the same emotions, locate a visual cue in the area to create a new connection for the memory then let the brain wander to process the trauma. The technique is called brainspotting.

“It’s about this idea that traditional talking through it is only engaging the frontal lobe,” Gonzalez said. “So we’re just getting better at telling rehearsed stories about what we’re experiencing, but we haven’t changed that we’re still experiencing it.”

Brainspotting engages the subcortex where memories are stored, Gonzalez said. It sounds weird, he admits. The room can stay silent for several minutes during sessions. Sometimes athletes emerge dazed with a new sense of clarity they can’t even describe. Don’t worry, he assures them, you don’t need to put words to it.

“It’s like there’s this click that happens,” Gonzalez said, “where this thing that was once distressing you — it’s not gone, it happened to me — but my body doesn’t sense it’s about to happen again.”

While the man players affectionately call “Dr. Mondo” was initially supposed to work directly with only Inouye-Perez and a small group of athletes, he learned all players were craving small bits of time. He has now established relationships with every player on the team.

Gonzalez knows what each one needs heading into game day. During the postseason, he’s with the team in the hotel, then on the bus ride to the stadium. He scopes out how players look in the batting cages, stepping in with a quick pep talk or look of reassurance when needed. He spent about 30 minutes before UCLA’s second super regional game with starting pitcher Taylor Tinsley guiding the sophomore through a meditative session.

After Tinsley pitched seven innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts to clinch UCLA’s spot in the World Series , she shared a hug with Gonzalez on the field.

“We play a game that is 99% mental,” Tinsley said. “I think it’s hardly physical, especially with the competition that we play so he just definitely helped me lock in, level up.”

With Gonzalez working with every player, Inouye-Perez said the Bruins have a deeper and more connected group than ever. He helped strengthen the team by beginning with personal assessments of each player and coach. The results create a guide for them to better understand themselves, giving insight on their strengths, how they like to be spoken to and how they manage adversity. The personality assessments serve as unofficial playbooks for coaches or teammates to understand how to best interact with one another to solve complex problems.

“Coaches get into a single mind focus: it’s a physical preparation — if you just do this then it’ll work,” Inouye-Perez said. “But there’s more to it. … It’s not just about great athletes, it’s understanding how you’re dealing with people and I wanted them to have those tools.”

Gonzalez, who founded a mental health company called Cheatcode, saw players start shedding the trauma of last season’s disappointment at different times. The Bruins slowly transformed into “a different type of beast,” he said. They let go of last year’s struggles. They got back to their baseline. Then they leveled up to becoming relentless competitors who swept preseason Pac-12 favorites Stanford on the road.

The biggest leap was when Palacios launched a tying grand slam in the bottom of the fifth against Arizona on Senior Day that helped UCLA overcome a seven-run deficit in a 11-7 win.

Gonzalez called it the “tectonic shift” of the season.

“As the wins were piling up, all the comeback wins, I just felt like that Arizona game was when it all just clicked,” Gonzalez said. “They truly knew this is ours.”

Unburdened by expectations of the past, the Bruins are now playing with joyful freedom. Gonzalez reminds them before games to enjoy the moment, for the outcome is beyond their control. Among the blue and gold in their dugout, players also sport black T-shirts with “it’s already written” printed on the back.

That’s their cheat code.

Texas a&m's adela cernousek wins 2024 di women's golf championship individual title.

CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA – Adela Cernousek became the first individual medalist in Texas A&M program history , winning the 2024 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship title by three strokes over Lottie Woad of Florida State on the North Course at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa (6,330 yards/par 72). The championship was the first collegiate tournament win for the Aggie junior.

In addition, Stanford came from one stroke back of Texas A&M to start the day to grab the top-seed position going into team match play on Tuesday. Stanford and LSU tied for the team lead at two-over-par (1,154), with Stanford winning the tie-breaker to earn the No. 1 seed. Teams advancing to the eight-team match play portion of the championship that starts Tuesday morning include in seed order, Stanford, LSU, Texas A&M, Southern California, Clemson, UCLA, Oregon and Auburn, with the Tigers securing the No. 8 seed with a four-round total of 20-over-par 1172. Defending national champion Wake Forest placed ninth at 22-over-par 1174.

Cernousek posted a 72-hole total of 12-under-par 276 (68-68-68-72). Her score was only four strokes shy of the all-time NCAA championship record of 16-under-par by Virginia Elena Carta of Duke in 2016.

“It’s hard to believe, it’s crazy,” said Cernousek, a native of Antibes, France, who on May 14 won the U.S. Open Qualifier at the Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, Texas, securing a spot at the 79th U.S. Women's Open Championship. “I don’t think I was breathing at all during the whole day. I think all the support I have back home, my teammates and my coaches and the work I put in everyday have allowed me to get to this point.”   “This is the epitome of her,” said Texas A&M Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell. “She puts the team first and that’s all you can ask for. Her humbleness, her work ethic, it’s crazy to think her first win is on this stage. I think punching her ticket to the U.S. open helped to give her the confidence that she belongs on this stage. I wish I had five of her, but so proud.”   Woad, the first-round leader, ended play at 9-under-par 279, three strokes back of Cernousek. “It was a great experience,” said Woad, a sophomore from Farnham, England. “We get to play against the best college players in the country and everyone comes here with their ‘A’ game, so you have to bring yours. It’s great to compete at this level. This year has definitely helped my confidence. I’m particularly proud of how consistent I have been in the college events, having chances in almost all of them. Gaining that confidence in contending has been really valuable for me.”

This marks the fourth-straight year Stanford has claimed the No. 1 seed entering the NCAA match play championship. It marks the fifth overall time that the Cardinal has earned the No. 1 seed entering match play, as Stanford also claimed the top seed in 2015. Stanford is the only Division I program (men or women) to advance to match play every year (dating back to 2009). The Cardinal will play No. 8 Auburn in the first quarterfinal match on Tuesday.   “When I look back over the last decade and the last four years, we have been fortunate to have some of the world’s best players,” said Stanford Head Coach Anne Walker. “When you put those players on a stage like this they love it and they usually show up. I feel lucky as a coach to have that experience year after year with these players at Stanford.” LSU, which started the day in third place, came from nine strokes back of Texas A&M to start the day to tie Stanford for the top spot.

“It feels pretty awesome, said LSU Head Coach Garrett Runion. “We have been knocking at the door the last few years. I told people I don’t want a good team, I want a good program. To have a good program you have to be near the top a lot. We missed out on some close calls the last few years, but it feels good to crack the top eight and have a shot in match play.”   “Hopefully my team is hungry because we haven’t finished off our rounds well the last two days,” said Chadwell. “We have to be a little tough on our finishes. Our experience we have gained the last three years in match play hopefully can carry us into Wednesday. We will get in there and put them in the best position to be successful.”   Quarterfinal and semifinal match play will be played on Tuesday, May 21 beginning at 6:50 a.m. PST. In addition to the Stanford-Auburn quarterfinal match, No. 2 LSU will take on No. 7 Oregon, No. 3 Texas A&M will play No. 6 UCLA and No. 4 Southern California will play No. 5 Clemson. The four teams advancing to the semifinals will play at either 1:15 or 2:05 p.m. PST on Tuesday. Golf Channel and Peacock will provide live coverage of the quarterfinal and semifinal matches.   The national championship match of the 2024 championship will take place on Wednesday, May 22 at 2:05 p.m. PST at La Costa.
