We also enjoy placing nativity sets around our home. Both of these are great ways to add the message of Christ’s birth to your home too.  Use code SHEGAVEITAGO for 15% off this beautiful Emmanuel sign and the music sheet sign (in the photo above) HERE.

Christmas Mantel and Fireplace

“The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that Saint Nick would soon be here…” stockings are a timeless Christmas mantel decor item, aren’t they?

Full Christmas living room view!

It’s always a lovely idea to incorporate greenery into your Christmas mantel decor, right?! But what you choose to use is up to you! Faux or real?

Simple, draped garland or thick strands of garland with oversized jingle bells tied to them is exactly what I did this year.

Christmas Dining Room

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Our dining room table is simple yet festive this year! A fun mix of greenery, ambiance lighting, and a lovely table setting was fun to create. Here are the layers I used on my table:

  • Table runner
  • Set of 3 hurricane vases
  • Flameless flickering candles

I fell in love with this black and white dot stoneware 12-piece set you can shop HERE . The silverware is a family setting that I have loved over the years.

Protip: Still feeling stumped on what you may have sitting around the home for your table? Just add candles and more candles to a table. It just makes it feel magical!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Our dining room chairs are all dressed up with small wreaths tied onto them by looping a wire ribbon through the back of each.

We love hosting a cardboard gingerbread house party each year, where we build our houses and decorate them with (lots) of candy. Access our family’s gingerbread house template HERE , and enjoy this fun family tradition during the holidays.

You can shop my dining room below:

Our second tree is here in our dining room! I went with a modern farmhouse look for this tree.

Protip: Looking for a free tree skirt idea? Take a blanket or quilt and wrap it around the base of your tree. And for the smaller trees, place them inside a basket for some great texture, as I did in our dining room this year.

I hope you enjoyed this Christmas home tour. I loved having you stop by. Now, I cannot wait for you to check out my friend Leen’s tour, which uses the colors of nature . You are going to love it!

Christmas Modern Farmhouse Home Tour with Jessica of The Old Barn

Last year mom and I decided to do a week of Christmas home tours! We’re so excited to kick off Christmas Home Tours for 2022. Every day this week you’ll see a new home up on the blog and you are going to LOVE every single one. Each tour will include video AND photos for you to take in all the inspiration to the fullest extent.

Today on this series is our friend Jessica of @The.Old.Barn . We’ve toured Jessica’s home on the blog in the past and it was a huge hit. We’re excited for you to see the updates she’s made and how she adds holiday cheer to her home!

SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO TOUR & SHOP LINKS👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

When you take the winding drive to Jessica’s home you’re first greeted by Frosty. The scene is truly magical! The traditional farmhouse exterior is perfect for Christmastime! A simple green wreath with a red bow in every window pop against the white exterior. And the front porch swing looks cozy and inviting with Christmas plaid pillows. Just a few potted trees and some lanterns and the entry is complete! We couldn’t wait to get inside!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

ENTRY AND STAIR HALL

Jessica custom designs home plans . Her homes are well designed with interesting thought and detail. From the entry, you are immediately drawn to the view of the family room. A small entry table with a sweet manger scene and a mirror with garland bring on Christmas from the start. But your journey doesn’t end there. You’re next invited through a doorway with a leaded transom window that Jessica found on a treasure hunt.

The next space is what Jessica calls the stair hall. A large table topped with simple touches of candlesticks and trees, along with a rustic bench and a cozy red and green quilt is all this space needs. Jessica’s mom is a quilter so you’ll see cozy quilts here and there. The stair rail covered in garland with pops of red berries is classic Christmas!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

LIVING ROOM

Jessica’s living room is a show stopper with vaulted shiplap ceilings and a towering 12-foot tree! The plaid pillows, red ticking ribbon and pops of red berries are the thread that runs throughout. While the home is simply decorated it is filled with character and charm. And the attention to detail is not lost in any space. The newest member of the family, a playful Golden Doodle named Bonnie, has her own spot under the stairwell. But she can usually be found romping and playing and looking for sticks! The garland on the mantel came from Afloral . It’s good to set a notification and order sometime in September like Jessica because this garland is quickly sold out!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

SHOP THE LOOK

Jessica describes the range hood and the range area as the hearth of the kitchen. She used the classic garland with red berries again here, and a couple of topiaries on either side. The sink area is unique and set apart with weathered wood beams. This is more than your classic farmhouse sink because Jessica’s is crafted from her amazing Quartzite countertop material! I wish I’d have thought of it! I love this area as it looks out a window to the yard. Jessica dressed it with a wreath.

The counter area is clutter-free with a simple bowl of paperwhites and a candle on a cake stand. The milk glass she used is all at once sweet and sophisticated. The island is also minimally decorated with a hot cocoa bar. The Mr. and Mrs. Claus mugs are my favorite. The white hutch has touches of Christmas. This room makes me want to grab a mug of cocoa and stay awhile!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

DINING ROOM

The dining room is true to Jessica’s simple modern farmhouse design. She said she started to decorate a little more elaborate but it didn’t feel right so she paired back and it was exactly what she was looking for, a simple classic feel. There are nautical pendants over the dining room table and they are in keeping with the nod to coastal throughout the home. There is a beautiful view from every window. And since this home is just off the lake, it feels like you’re walking through a vacation retreat. Jessica painted the sideboard a light blue. A simple deer and some greenery is the statement piece!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

The sun porch is decked with all things Christmas. The outdoor furniture is the same as mine . I love it covered in lots of plaid throws and cozy pillows. This is the perfect spot for Jessica’s kiddos to come for family time. The fireplace mantle is decorated with garland and lanterns.

One tip I love is to decorate using wrapped presents. I think a radio flyer wagon filled with presents is perfect and reminds me of a Christmas movie. Speaking of Christmas movies, the front office tree has a squirrel in it to remind the family of Christmas Vacation, one of their favorites! How fun! Decorating with a nod to Christmas movies might be my new thing!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

PRIMARY BEDROOM

The primary bedroom is so inviting. Just some green and white plaid pillows, a tree on the nightstands, a garland over the headboard and this room says Christmas. The faux fireplace mantel was a unique find and its a rare one because it’s very deep. There’s more garland and a few glass trees.

The wood doors leading to the bathroom hold some simple wreaths. This bathroom is stunning any time of year! There’s more quartzite for the countertops and beautiful rich charcoal floors with white veining. Everywhere you look this home has shiplap, farm molding, and picture paneling. It carries into the primary bath. Again, this space, along with the rest feels like a cozy retreat!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Thank you Jessica for inviting us into your home!

I hope Jessica’s home tour brought you as much joy as it brought us. Every detail was so thoughtful and unique. Make sure to give Jessica a follow on Instagram at @The.Old.Barn . Also, be sure to sign up for our email to see the other 4 home tours releasing this week. You really are going to love them all.

2022 Annual Christmas Home Tour

It’s 2022 Christmas Home tour day! We’ve had quite the year and I think this year, more than ever, I was desperate for the reward of embracing our house, covered in twinkle lights and happiness. My energy heading into the season wasn’t at peak performance level, but the more we did, the more motivated I was to see it through so we could enjoy the outcome.

As I do each year, I worked to mix color combos and dig into bins to revive decor that hasn’t been out in a while. I used a lot of stuff in different ways, some stuff in identical ways to last year, and also, as always, there’s still plenty left in the basement bins that will have to wait to see if next year is the year it comes out of hiding to be incorporated. Some spaces, I concept — at least generally in terms of color — a year in advance, and some spaces I concept on the fly, as I’m digging into bins.

We have multiple rooms that are in “transition” which limited some of our efforts — and I’ll share those as we go along — but there’s also some peeks of spaces that haven’t been shared just yet.

If you like elaborate Christmas decor, I have some of that. If you like simple Christmas decor, I have some of that, too. And if you prefer nostalgic, meaningful Christmas decor that’s family-centric, well, you’ll find that today, also 😉 Whether you’re a first time visitor or you’ve been a regular reader for a while, thank you for stopping in and for checking in on us today. Welcome and let’s head on in!

*Available sources can be found below photos throughout the post.

*Posts on KelleyNan.com may contain affiliate links. Click HERE for full disclosure.

Full disclosure — we’re actually starting with a brief time travel back to last December, first, haha. I never have our outdoor decor finished by Home Tour Day, so if you didn’t come back to KN after last year’s tour, this could be the first time you’re seeing our these. We have out lights up and I’m hoping we’ll have the rest completed by Thanksgiving. I’ll definitely come back later when everything’s finished because I’m excited about a classic addition I’ve wanted to incorporate, literally, for 10 years that we’re finally doing this year.

Outdoor Christmas Lights and Decor

Y’all, I love THESE faux magnolia branches  so much (if you’re a regular, you know this, haha) that I created the exact same arrangement in the entry as last year. I use them throughout fall and carry them through winter, too. I’ve invested with several at a time over the past few years so you’ll probably spy them in spots all around the house.

2022 Christmas Home Tour

I don’t think I ever buy anything for bowls. My go-to move is to use leftovers or random finds in my old bins (strands, pinecones, balls, beads, bells, etc.) and toss them together. I love mixing matte/rustic items with shiny (like wooden beads and ornaments), or, in this case, pinecones and brass bells.

2022 Christmas Home Tour

Dining Room

I said it last year and I’ll say it again — this is the time of year when I most love our dark, moody dining room. Everything I used, I already had, and some deep red hues are making their way out of hibernation for the first time in a while.

This crystal piece was my late grandmother’s and while it usually sits empty (it doesn’t hold water), faux berry branches made the perfect simple centerpiece.

2022 Christmas Home Tour

I think this is the first year I didn’t break out at least a few candlesticks, but I didn’t want to detract from the simplicity. And with only deep red ornament balls, the lightly flocked tree is uncomplicated and modest.

More and more, I’m appreciating the juxtaposition of organic meets glitz. And that especially shines through with the Christmas decor. It’s how I designed our dining room mini makeover — using most of the major pieces that were already in our room — and mixing them with more earthy elements, like THESE cement-style lamps .

Conversation Room

Directly across from the dining room, our conversation room awaits. I say this is the most “special” room at Christmas because it’s where the majority of the nostalgia and special family memories live. Situated next to our cabinet of family mementos (see the details and styling tips HERE ) is our family tree, filled with ornaments collected over the years.

I wrote a post last year with five tips to decorate a family Christmas tree HERE . No ornaments are off limits and everything goes. Eliza decorated the family tree with me this year and I loved her reaction to unwrapping each ornament. We’ll be decorating my mom’s tree later this week and with decades and decades of memories, it’s probably my favorite tree to tackle.

My mom also gifts Eliza a new interactive animal that moves/sings each Christmas season, so they all live at the base of the tree. I call it “home base” so after Eliza’s finished playing with them, she knows to take them back to “home base” for the night.

I just purchased THIS huge, heavy strand of two-toned terracotta beads on clearance and shared the score on Instagram. They quickly were made unavailable to ship but at time of publishing, they are BACK and available to ship! They retailed for $129 (these things are big! ) but are on clearance for $37.99 HERE ! I will be using them year-round but I couldn’t wait to get them on display.

I haven’t gifted my family their ornaments for this year just yet, but I’ll probably do that on Thanksgiving night!

Kitchen / Breakfast Nook

Remember my kitchen update post I shared recently ( HERE )? Well, we don’t have the walls painted just yet and the breakfast nook is in heavy transition (I just sold the sideboard today since the new one arrives tomorrow!), but we have made some more progress! I kept things really simple and minimal in both spaces since we could very well have painters/electricians in the house before the end of the year, working toward finishing these off.

I found this footed rattan bowl at Home Goods a while back and it’s huge . I haven’t been able to figure out how to use it, so I was happy that this season gave me a reason to pull it out for the first time!

Heading into the place I put most of my efforts each year, if you’re an email subscriber, you already got a first look at our tree a few weeks ago 😉 And if you aren’t, you can subscribe to emails HERE for exclusives. I think I say it each year, but this year’s tree may be my favorite ever. At least top three… here she is.

Living Room Christmas decor Ideas with Green

I’m just now realizing this may be the first time I’ve shared the living room with our new leather chairs  (mine are in vintage midnight). I first sat in them, in store, almost two years ago and fell in love with how comfortable they were. Fast forward to this spring and I finally ordered a pair. they come in several leather colors and options, and a few wood finishes. When the tree isn’t up, they won’t be next to the window — they’ll actually be pulled in closer to the sofa for more of an intimate conversation setting.

I couldn’t find any large or pale mint ornament balls that I had in mind, so I ended up spray painting some teal balls I used a few years ago!

You can find my most visited blog post — a tutorial on how I add ribbon to the Christmas tree — HERE . This was the first year I left some of the ribbon tails out, in an effort to conserve a little of the ribbon, and I love the result! To cut a ‘v’ in the tail, I just fold the end of the ribbon in half and cut at a diagonal across — the same I would for a bow on a gift.

My favorite tree addition this year were THESE natural berry picks I found on Amazon, though. I ordered the pinkish green and was so pleased with how they look and feel in person. You’ll see them incorporated into the garland on the mantel, too. I know these will be a staple in the coming years, regardless of the themes and schemes I come up with.

Going with greens and naturals made it so easy to hit up my pillow stash and pull out some favorites I had on hand. THIS 22″ charcoal windowpane pillow has been a sofa staple for a few seasons now and transitioned from fall to holiday easily. It will stay in place through winter, too. You can find it at my fave pillow shop HERE . I’m really crushing on a lot of their pillows right now, especially THIS one …

THESE plaid throws are on sale right now and come in a TON of plaids and colors — my mom and I ordered three between the two of us.

I had ordered a few new pieces — namely wooden nutcrackers and bells well over a month ago, but with severe shipping delays, they still haven’t shipped. I’ll wait and hopefully use them next year.

I have two new Christmas decor additions this year though, that I adore. The first are these handcrafted wooden trees . They are exquisite in person and the craftsman is so talented. I can’t get over the tiny cuts.

The other is THIS handcrafted terracotta nativity . I have several nativity sets (I think I have five on display this year?!) and adore the large one I got last year, but it’s so big, with so many pieces, I didn’t have a spot for it this year. THIS one is perfectly sized for a shelf or table without commanding too much space requirement. I plan to use this one year after year.

I think the garland is the most fun to embellish because it’s big enough to get creative, but small enough where you don’t run out of steam. Here’s this year’s version…

I added in faux berries and cedar (or juniper, maybe?), live magnolia and eucalyptus, and bells to the sides. I found these bells at Hobby Lobby last year so I’m not sure if they brought them back, but I LOVE all the bells at McGee & Co. HERE , especially THESE. (on sale now!). Here’s the caveat though — I ordered some Christmas decor from them a while ago and they are experiencing big lags; I can’t say confidently that they would arrive in time this year.

Eliza hid one of our stocking hooks so I had to order a new set — I was thankful Amazon still had them in stock ( HERE ) — they really have been the best, pretty, simple hooks!

The base of my garland is still my trusty Costco garland and I love to embellish the heck out of it. It’s a great go-to, classic pine garland for a great base, or even on its own. I wrote a post a couple years ago about my garland method HERE .

I also use the Costco garland on our banisters and railing. I embellished it similarly but not quite as much. I also didn’t embellish the entire strands. I focused around the post, took some of the fillers upwards just a bit, and then let the rest of the garland stand on its own. A great time and money saver 😉

On the console, I’ve displayed our framed Christmas card photos, again. I have a mish-mosh of pale wooden/natural frames and still have a few in back-stock for the coming years. This year’s cards are set to arrive on Friday so I’ll be glad to get it displayed with the others. I also pulled out a sparse faux pine I’ve had for at least 15 years, for the first time in a few years. I housed it inside a fluted PB planter I have since it’s in the off-season and isn’t currently on duty outside.

Because the tree and garland are so… extra (haha), it feels good to give the rest of the space a little bit of breathing room with some simplicity, clean linens, and just moments of strategically placed elements of glitz for cohesiveness and to tie the room together.

Welp, this may be the first year I don’t have a tree in the bedroom. I didn’t have the energy but I’m already missing it so I don’t know if I’ll really make it through the season without on. I may end up bringing one up and leaving it bare… we’ll see, haha. I may even rob Eliza’s playroom of a slim tree for the corner…

Eliza’s Bedroom

But even though our bedroom isn’t as spirited as it has been in the past (sad), I couldn’t wait to get in Eliza’s room. First — a quick story. As you probably know, we started transitioning Eliza to a big girl bedroom last year. I ordered her bed LAST YEAR . So, after Christmas last year, I went ahead and grabbed everything I needed to give her a purple tree to go with her new purple bedroom. Um… that poor girl still doesn’t have a bed. The original bed was finished and shipped in February. When it stopped progressing in the tracker, I continually called. Finally, in April, they admitted it was lost and they had to order a new one to be made. That order was on backorder for a while and then finally, I thought she was going to get her bed. This one made it to our house in September. Well, actually, it made it to the street in front of our house. When the delivery people started taking it out of the truck, they realized it had been essentially demolished in transit and there wasn’t a single salvageable piece to leave. Bed attempt #3 — I’ve been told it’s on its way to the delivery center and I should be getting a call to schedule delivery any day now… this has been going on a few weeks though so I won’t hold my breath, haha. So, she still doesn’t have her purple bedroom and is perfectly content with her mattress on the floor… but she still got a purple tree 😉 And it’s my favorite she’s ever had in her room…

It’s just a shame she doesn’t have a bedroom to give the full, coordinating effect. But that’s me — not her. She is thrilled with this little corner magic. I surprised her with it when she got home from school one day and it was all worth it. (Until she was distracted by a tennis ball and switched focus 1.5 minutes after seeing her tree and room additions, haha).

I continue to shop the spring florals (they are always on such deep discount at craft stores by fall!) and these pretty little buds just made her tree.

Eliza couldn’t get enough of the holiday decorating this year, which made me really excited for the years to come. She used some of the most colorful decor that we already had and decorated her playroom. Here are a few snippets — I love her creative little imagination and she was so proud.

Everything is so beautiful! Do you have the link and/or dimensions for the tray the nativity set is sitting on in Eliza’s room?

Hi Janet, Thank you for taking the time to visit! Eliza’s nativity set is sitting on a marble coaster that I’ve had for years. The dimensions are approximately 4″ x 6″.

Paula, Thank you for taking the time to visit and for your sweet blessings. I am incredibly flattered that you are using my pictures as the background on your computer. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Just simply stunning (as always). I love your restraint by adding until it’s just enough. So elegant. So warm. So beautiful. (If you wake up some morning and your family room tree is missing, don’t blame me . . . )

Sharon, I appreciate your sweet comments so much! You are so right that it would be much easier to put out all of the things… But I’ve learned through the years that if I don’t bring out a favorite Christmas item this year, it will make an appearance the next year or the next. Thank you for following along with us!

So beautiful, stunning and serene. You have a fabulous eye.

Lynn, Thank you for taking the time to visit and for your kind note. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas season!

Hi Lauren, Thank you for visiting and for taking the time to leave a note. Merry Christmas!

You’re the best Kelley! Everything is just beautiful.

Ann, You are too kind and I so appreciate you taking the time to visit!

I absolutely love the green tree! My kitchen has pale green granite and is open to dining and living rooms.. I have been looking for some pale green ornaments. Thanks for the idea of just spray painting some old ones. Could you please tell me the brand and color of the paint you used?

Thank you, Sherry! The color is Breezeway by Behr in a satin finish. I hope this helps!

It’s all so gorgeous! Where did you get your outdoor red Christmas bows?

Gail, Thank you for taking the time to visit! My outdoor red bows came from Hobby Lobby.

Love it! So Beautiful!!!!

Dina, Thank you so much for your sweet note. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Christmas Home Tours 2022:

Front Door and 2022 Christmas Home Tour dates

Before we begin, I want to welcome those of you who are arriving from  Whispering Pines Homestead.   Anita always decorates in rich colors that are so cozy this time of year.  I’m sure you enjoyed her tour!

When you’re finished here, please be sure to visit the links at the end of this post to see all the beautiful Christmas home tours!

Welcome to my home!

Even though we rarely use our front door, I always like to decorate it every season.  In the past, I would buy a fresh wreath each year but ever since I found this artificial one, I’ve been done with the fresh.  Who needs all those messy needles dropping anyway?

Black front door with Christmas wreath and a fair isle bow - 2022 Christmas home tour

So, now I just fluff up my artificial wreath, change the bow and maybe add some accessories like the red berries.  Since I’m decorating with snowflakes and Fair Isle designs inside my home, I was happy to find this red ribbon to coordinate.

2022 Christmas Home Tour – The Kitchen:

Let’s continue the tour in my kitchen.  From this angle, you can probably tell that we have an open concept kitchen-family room.  Each year, I like to coordinate my holiday decor so the two spaces work together.  This year, you will see touches of red mixed with fair isle and snowflake decorations.  Some years, I’ve switched my blue and white curtain panels  to red curtains for the holiday season.   Although, I considered doing it again this year, I decided to leave the blue and not go too crazy with the red.

Entrance to kitchen - 2022 Christmas home tour

In a bright white kitchen, a little red goes a long way.  Each year, I hang the mini wreaths on my cabinets.  Usually, I use a red gingham ribbon but this year I switched the ribbon to a red fair isle style to go with my theme.  Changing ribbons is an inexpensive way to change a look from year to year.

White kitchen with wood floors and stained wood island - 2022 christmas home tour

To dress up the candles on my stove mantel, I simply wrapped them with another fair isle ribbon.  Since I had the wood candlesticks, I used them along with a wooden star from local store.  I love how the wood adds a rustic touch – and also coordinates with my round wood tray on the island.

Recently, I  shared the details of my winter tray decor.

White kitchen decorated for 2022 Christmas Home tour

Here’s a close up of the wooden star and candlesticks above the stove.  Since this spot is such a focal point in my kitchen, I think it’s important to coordinate these items with the rest of the decorations.

Wooden snowflake and candlesticks on white stove mantel

In the back corner of the counter, I added some more red and white.  The skiing dish towel kind of works with the snowflake theme as well…

Kitchen counter decorated for Christmas with candle, Santa and Christmas tree plate

From the angle in the photo below, you can see how all red accessories work together.  Somewhere in my basement bins, I do have a red Christmas rug but I just left the blue one for now.  Plus, it goes with the curtains and the family room rug so I guess it makes sense to leave it.

White kitchen with wood floors - 2022 Christmas home tour

This year, I kept my kitchen decor simple with just some subtle pops of red and green.

White cabinets and kitchen stove decorated for 2022 christmas home tour

While searching for Fair Isle pieces, I found  these tea towels.   I love the way the pattern includes the traditional snowflake along with reindeer.  After all, I decorated with reindeer on each of my countertop trays.

Red and White fair isle kitchen towel hanging on stove

To the right of the stove, I created a Christmas coffee station and just shared  those ideas on the blog last week.

As you can see, here are a couple of the reindeer I mentioned, along with some Fair Isle mugs.

Before we head into the family room, let’s stop at my kitchen table where I continued the snowflakes and Fair Isle theme…

White kitchen decorated for Christmas

For this year’s Christmas table, I bought some new Fair Isle patterned salad plates to layer over my white dishes.  If you want to change the look of your dishes without buying a whole new set, this is an easy and inexpensive way to do it.  (FYI – my plates have been discontinued at World Market but  these dishes have a similar vibe).

Christmas table setting with red striped runner and red fair isle snowflake plates

similar snowflake plates /  similar napkin rings

To complement the dishes, I brought out my red striped table runner.  Then to keep the red from becoming too overpowering, I used mostly white and silver accessories for the rest of the table.

Overhead view of red and white table setting

Since I was decorating with a snowflake theme, all the white made sense – white chairs, candles, napkins, placemats… By the way, those cute little craft paper wrapped presents were leftovers from a farmhouse Christmas table I decorated a few years ago.

And you might notice the little snowflakes scattered down the center of the table.  While shopping in the dollar bins at Michael’s, I found those.  Basically, they were unfinished wood “DIY wood tags” and came in packages of 24 for around $2.99 each.  All I did was paint them white…how crafty of me.  Haha.

Red and white Christmas table setting - 2022 home tour

Not only did I buy the snowflake tags, but I bought a bunch of little house tags as well.  Once again, I painted them white and then I hung them on my little tree with red baker’s twine.  If you read my blog, you know that I just love decorating with little white houses!   I never seem to have enough!  Then to finish my simple tree, I added some Fair Isle ribbon to continue with the theme.

If you like little white houses at Christmas, you might also like gingerbread houses!  For an easy craft, read  DIY Gingerbread House Ornaments!

On my console table shelves, I continued with red and white.  To dress up the baskets where I keep my napkins, I tied on some cute snowflake ornaments.

From here, we’re practically in the family room.  Let’s continue the 2022 Christmas home tour in there for some more snowflakes and Fair Isle decor!  (If you’re looking for Fair Isle items for your home,  here are some more Fair Isle shopping finds!)

2022 Christmas Home Tour – Family Room:

Like I said, when you have an open concept kitchen/family room, it makes sense to coordinate the holiday decor!

Christmas table and family room open concept

With all the bright light in this room, the splashes of red really stand out.

Since Fair Isle patterns look great with plaid, I displayed some of my plaid pillows.

And for more color, I added my red plaid table runner to the coffee table.  The runner makes a great base for the tray and helps to pull all the colors together.

As you can see, I added more of those wooden snowflakes to the dough bowl.  For cheap dollar bin items, I really got my moneys worth with those things!

And a big “Merry” Fair Isle sign for the fireplace!  Yes, I guess I’m feeling very merry this Christmas!

Stone fireplace and chair decorated for Christmas

At some point, I’ll hang our stockings but I’m liking the way the mantel looks without them for now.  And yes, there are more of those little snowflakes in the garland above the mirror.  Isn’t it great when you can find several uses for items?  And it’s even better when those items are super-cheap!

Stone fireplace decorated for Christmas with red and green

Those were actually the only things I bought for the mantel this year.  Last year, I bought the red Merry sign from Homegoods but couldn’t decide where to display it.  And I’ve used the mirror before, though last time I displayed it horizontally. To see more Christmas mantel ideas, read –  Stone Fireplace Christmas Decorations.

At Christmas time, the red fabric covered star always makes an appearance.  Among other places, I’ve displayed it on my kitchen stove mantel, and in my  younger son’s bedroom.   Gee, I wonder where I’ll use it next Christmas… *Update –  see my 2023 home tour!

Shelley your home is just gorgeous. I adore all of the red and white touches! It is a true treasure to be on tour with you!

Thanks so much, Laura! Sometimes I think I’ll go neutral for the holidays but the red always comes out at some point! Looking forward to your tour!

I love your home, and I love the flow with the family room and kitchen combined. So inviting and such a great space for all the family to gather. Adding the red is small touches is so perfect, it makes the whole space just sing Christmas. You are way too clever with those little snow flakes and little houses too, I love them both. Thanks so much for joining the tour again this season, your home is always such a delight to visit.

Thank you so much, Marty! With the open space, I feel like I need to decorate them together. And you gotta love those simple DIYs! Thanks again for hosting this wonderful blog tour!

All those details She’ll! How do you think of it all? LOVE

Awe Jenny, you’re so sweet! Thank you – and enjoy the holidays!

Shelley you are so incredibly talented! I am in love with the pops of red and all things snowflakes! And that vintage Christmas tree plate in your kitchen is really special. Of course, I was teary eyed not seeing sweet Rosie in the pics —big hugs!

Thank you, Diane. You always say the sweetest things…I had fun with my snowflake theme this year. Yes, I’m really missing my darling Rosie a lot these days. She loved all the holiday excitement and we always gave her presents to open on Christmas morning. It definitely won’t be the same this year. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful holiday season!

Your kitchen is beautiful! Love all of your decor ideas! Pinned.

Thanks so much for the lovely comment and for pinning! Enjoy the rest of your week!

So fun and festive! I love the snowflake theme and pops of red. I never knew that pattern was called ‘Fair Isle’! Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Thanks Jenn! Yes, I always called it a snowflake pattern but then I thought of Fair Isle sweaters and it all made sense. Thanks for stopping by!

You have such a lovely home! I am adoring all of these Fair Isle touches everywhere.

Thank you Joanne! Enjoy the rest of your week!

Your home looks so beautiful and inviting, Shelley. I am so embarrassed to admit this, but before your tour, I never knew that print was called “Fair Isle”. Thank you for schooling me! haha! It looks amazing with your holiday decorating scheme.

Thanks Erica! I guess I just knew it from the sweaters! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the holiday season!

Your home is so beautiful for the holidays Shelley. I’m loving all the Fair Isle touches. The reds and snowflakes create such a festive vibe. I just loved your tour. Meet Christmas my friend.

Shelley, Everything looks just lovely!! Thanks so much for sharing and thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you are having a great week!! Hugs, Deb

Thanks so much, Deb! Enjoy your weekend!

I love how you incorporated fair isle into each and every room so seamlessly! It’s such a beautiful, festive touch. Merry Christmas Shelley!

Thanks so much, Heidi! It can be such a fine line between “pretty” Fair Isle and “ugly sweater” Fair Isle! Enjoy your weekend!

I love all of your red and white touches Shelley! The Fair Isle is just like a cozy Christmas sweater. And I agree that cheap finds you can use so many places are the best. Merry Christmas!!

Thanks Kate! Yes, a cozy Christmas sweater is definitely a vibe I was going for…as long as it doesn’t cross over into the “ugly sweater” look…which sometimes happens with Fair Isle! Haha! Thanks for stopping by and have a Merry Christmas!

Everything is so perfectly appointed. Beautiful! Happy Christmas!

Thank you Leslie! Merry Christmas to you!

I’m loving your fair isle theme for Christmas this year Shelley! Red and white looks so pretty in your home and I love how you carried the theme through out! Happy Christmas!

Thanks Michelle! Glad you like it! Merry Christmas, friend!

So very pretty, Shelley!! I really enjoyed taking your tour! You have a lovely home! And…I learned what Fair Isle decor was! hahaha(p.s. I’m Julie from My Wee Abode’s lil sis) 🙂

Thanks so much DeeDee! And nice to meet you – thanks for stopping by!

Your home is beautiful for Christmas!! I especially love your mantel. The little snowflakes around the garland are adorable!! It all feels so cohesive and lovely. Thanks so much for sharing at Home Imagined this week! Happy Christmas!

Thanks so much, Rachel! I had fun playing around with ideas…glad you liked it. Have a Merry Christmas!

Shelley, What a beautiful Christmas Home tour. I looks so festive and cosy at the same time. I must say I am in love with the style of your kitchen. I plan on updating my kitchen next year and I really like your cabinets and the shelf above your stove. Thanks for joining us at the Home Imagined party.

Thanks so much, Meagan! I’m so happy you like my kitchen – we remodeled it about 7 years ago and I wanted it to look timeless. Thanks for hosting the link party!

I enjoyed your Christmas home! The touches are just enough. I love the little wreaths on your cabinets. Merry Christmas!

Thank you Lori! Glad you like the wreaths…I’ve been hanging them every year for the past few. Have a Merry Christmas!

Just beautiful, Shelley! It is warm, cozy, festive and merry! If I were to decorate for Christmas, I’d take my cues from your style ideas!

Awe, thanks Amy! You always say the sweetest things! Enjoy your weekend!

I love the cohesive Fair Isle christmas touches everywhere especially the dining table settings! Such a cozy and warm holiday home with pops of red.

Thank you Kathryn! Merry Christmas to you!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Thank you!!

That is the most beautiful tree I have ever seen! Love your family room always at Christmas!

Thank you so much! I just love it so much this year!

The tree is beautiful, but the other touches of Christmas all around is truly a feast for the eyes and looks so inviting!

So kind, thank you!

Love your family room, it is so pretty and that tree is stunning. I love how you've used the garland this year, especially on the stairs, that is genius.

Thank you Marty! :)

Absolutely beautiful!! Love your tree and the colors. Thank you!

Thank you! :)

I LOVE your Joy to the World leaner sign by your fireplace!! Can you tell me where you got it from??? Thank you.

It was a gift but I believe it was from HomeGoods! :)

so beautiful! I love the paint color above your mantel!!

Thank you! It's my favorite moody blue. (Cyberspace by SW.)

I've not seen a large tree like yours with the perfect amount of ornaments and rustic touches that looks so beautiful! What an amazing statement! I love the colors you chose and all the other details around the room. The garland at the bottom is genius. Like you, we've never done garland on the rails for safety but this is a game changer. So glad I got to see your living room and can see why it's your favorite place to be. Merry Christmas!

Thank you! Merry Christmas!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Ooooooh, Sarah, I'm in love with a family room and it's yours! Your tree is lovely von lovely, and the garland on the stairs - I am taking notes. Thanks for opening up your home to us - this is my first holiday tour rodeo, and it's an honor to be with y'all. Peace to you and yours this Christmas.

To you as well! Thank you so much, I'm off to check out your tour! :)

Sarah your tree is stunning! I just love this room. The space is large, but still feels cozy. Love the bar area too. So many beautiful touches for Christmas like the little houses on the stairs..Love it! So fun doing this with you all! Kim

Your tree and garlands are amazing. I love the tree color combination, so inspiring. I'm also a huge fan of your gallery shelf wall ... Pinning and saving for a future project. Such a fun tour. Happy Holidays! xo

Sarah, where do I begin? That tree is gorgeous. I love the height of it and how you decorated it for the holidays. It's stopped me in my tracks. The tree is the show stopper. Those white houses on the steps look beautiful and such a great idea.

For some reason I can't sign in to comment, so it's Jenny from Evolution of Style. I *love* your family room - so warm and cozy and welcoming. And your TV is bonus decor! Thanks so much for joining the tour again this year - I always love the ideas you pull together.

Thanks for having me Jenny!!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Your tree with the deep colors is stunning. It's the perfect size for that space. And I love the asymmetrical garland and stockings on your mantel. I can see why it's your favorite room!

Oh goodness this is gorgeous, Sarah! Love the contrast of your built-ins against the white fireplace and then add all that gorgeous garland and the tree and decor....just stunning! I really love that evening view as well with the lights. Just magical! So fun to find you and follow along. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Thank you!! Yes, I found those on Amazon!

The tree is gorgeous! Love the colors you used. So many pretty touches throughout your home. Would you please share where you found the 4 gold tone bells handing on the post? So cool!

Thank you so much! I found those at Amazon. :)

I cannot believe I waited so long to come by! Busy week! I adore your tree. Love the amber tones. What a great idea to fill a bowl with cinnamon sticks too! I think I am going to steal that one. Your room must smell heavenly.

Beautiful (as always!)! Can you tell us how you "attach" your greenery to your mantle? Command hooks? What do you use? My mantle is my Achille's heel of Christmas decorating! Thank you for sharing your home!

Yes, Command hooks are my go-to this time of year! I use them everywhere. :)

If you have a specific question I will do my best to answer you back here! You can find our paint colors and links to items at the "Our Home" tab at the top of my site. THANKS so much for reading!

Bloggers’ Best Holiday Home Tours 2022

If you love peeking at how others have decorated their homes for Christmas then you will love this week! Not just one, but 35 total bloggers, are sharing their homes each day this week all decked out for the holidays.

There is sure to be something for everyone! Once you have visited my tour make sure to scroll to the bottom and visit the rest of the ladies sharing today and then come back every day until Friday to see the remaining homes!

If you are coming over from my friend Cecilia of My Thrift Store Addiction , welcome! Wasn’t her vintage Christmas decor so beautiful?

Now I want to welcome you into our home!

I’m Kelly the voice and face behind The Tattered Pew. I have been blogging for almost 6 years now and just left teaching after 20 years to pursue this full time! I love in Colorado with my family and you can often find me hitting up the local flea markets and hanging out with my mom! (for those of you that are new, she has a monthly series here on the blog called Tuesdays With Tracy !) She helped me get our home decorated this year and I couldn’t have done it without her!

You can see last year’s Christmas tour here that she also helped me with!

Kelly of The Tattered Pew in her Kitchen

I LOVE all things Christmas! I love that it is all about Jesus and I love that I get to share my birthday month with him! Mine is 3 days before Christmas.

Ok here we go! Grab something warm to drink and get ready to enjoy a ton of Christmas decor. I took WAY too many pictures but I wanted to show you everything!!!

This is the first space you see as you enter our home. Our banister and trim is painted Slate Tile by Sherwin Williams. It’s such a pretty blue gray!

My very first little pew greets you along with this tiny vintage Santa blow mold. How cute is he lit up?

Our Christmas entry

This old brass bucket holds some fresh poinsettias in bright red! I have never had these before so I hope I can keep them alive. If you have any tips feel free to leave them in the comments below!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Do you see the pine cone stars in the garland on our banister? I made those from pine cones in our yard! They were so easy to nestle in the garland and I popped in some bright red ribbon bows too!

pointsettia

Do you have any awkward spaces in your home?

This little space across from our banister is an odd one for sure. The previous owners had a piano here but we don’t have one or play.

So instead I moved our chair over here and added a round table (that folds). It fits perfectly and of course needed its own Christmas tree! This 4.5 tabletop tree is new to us this year and I can’t get enough of it!

red, green and plaid Christmas decor

I plopped it in this large blue and white porcelain planted a friend gave me and got so excited that it fit!

Love at first sight!

Just when I didn’t think it could get any better I added these clip on battery operated candles!

Love at first sight…again!

blue bowl and metal santa

Now I love this little corner. Of course I also had to bring back the thrill of hope the weary world rejoices sign from Between You and Me Signs !

Our dining room and kitchen.

A few weeks ago I shared a post dedicated to our dining room and kitchen and you can see that here .

But of course I wanted to give you a taste today as well!

Our dining room really shows off the red and green Christmas themes I was going for. If you love this space and want to see it live, I will be sharing all about it over on my Amazon Live on Thursday.

This will be my second live for Amazon and I am SO excited to get on again! I would love to have you join me. I would love to also have you follow me there as well! It is so simple just jump here , hit the follow button and the bell to get reminded!

Christmas in our dining room

This is a peek into our kitchen from the family room. Yep, it’s all blue! I adore having a blue kitchen. It’s the color Blustery Sky by Sherwin Williams. You can see it decorated for Christmas here in this post .

A peek into our blue kitchen

Shop Our Dining Room & Kitchen

Our family room.

Let’s continue on, shall we?

This space is technically in our entry, kind of , but it also connects to the family room. Another slightly awkward space that I had fun decorating. I leaned this large blue shutter on top of my pine dresser and clipped on some deer prints I found at a local shopped called Magpies .

nativity

Then I added the garland and below it my nativity set. Of course more greenery in the vase and more of the pretty red velvet ribbon you might remember from the banister and will soon see on the tree!

Deer prints on shutter

Don’t these look old and vintage? They totally aren’t and they were only 6 dollars each!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

This is the view if you were to turn around from looking at the blue shutter. A full view of our family room! This is our main living space and I love it!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Most of our furniture is from Facebook Marketplace or consignment shops or flea markets. I love mixing pieces together to bring a unique feel to the space.

FOr Christmas I added a ton of plaid accents along with red and green.

I’m almost embarrassed to admit how many plaid blankets I have. It may or may not be in the double digits. Maybe I should start considering them something I collect! ha!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Our sofa is from Curate Consignments and is originally from Pottery Barn. Itcaught my eye since it was blue. Doesn’t it look pretty with pops of red for Christmas?

Confession time.. those wood blinds above the sofa drive me crazy. They darken the space and I want to change them. I just haven’t found the right replacement yet. That is on my list for 2023. But pulling them up does the trick for letting more light in.

And don’t worry, I’ll share more about my green dresser below!

Our christmas tree.

Our tree is flocked and I have to say that I love it! When I decided to go all read mainly on the tree I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but goodness gracious it turned out so fun!

I love this year’s tree so much! Even though our tree from last year was featured in Country Sampler’s Farmhouse Style Christmas edition this year, I think I might like this one better! Shhh, don’t tell!

our red and green Christmas tour tree

Doesn’t the tree look so pretty against my favorite boxwood green dresser ? I swear this dresser was made for Christmas!

Our red and green Christmas home tour

On top of the dresser painted in Boxwood by Miss Mustard Seed milk paint , I kept things simple. A jar full of vintage ornaments, a plaid scarf turned runner, a vintage red book and a votive. The mirror reflects the tree so beautifully too, right?

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Can you read the title on this book? From Manger to Throne is a book I saw at my friend Brook’s booth (before she had her shop) that I fell in love with. It’s perfect for Christmas!!!!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

A few more fun views of our tree.. I sued a vintage horn for the topper to echo our dining room centerpiece and layered on gold wood beads and more red velvet ribbon. Then added red ornaments and mercury glass ornaments in an assortments of sizes. The final touch were the red berry picks. So simple yet so stunning!

Christmas mantel

Now how about we peek at the mantel? Sweet and simple.

My sweet mom let me borrow her round mirror with the darling bow on top and I love it against the white brick!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

She also helped me layer on the garland (held on by command hooks) and stockings. The white ones are from the Studio McGee line at Target this year and the plaid ones are from last year. I got them at Shop with Lavender and Grace .

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Pretty much obsessed with the battery operated light on the left side of the mantel. Did you even know they were fake?

Remember my love for pedestal bowls ? Well I found this one in my basement that I had forgotten all about. Isn’t she cute with red ornaments in her? The blue ginger jars were found at the flea market and Home Goods awhile ago.

And the metal Merry Christmas banner? Well I got it at a local shop here in fort Collins called Cozy Cottage . But I did also see it online at Studio McGee, but unfortunately it was sold out.

Shop Our Tree & Mantel

Finally, lets make a quick stop in and see Mike’s office! This beautiful blue room is painted in the color Sea Serpent by Sherwin Williams.

I kept it simple in here this year with this tree we have had from Walmart for years now and 4 gorgeous wreaths from Laura of Round Wreath.

I picked out the Forever Green wreath and had her add blue velvet ribbon. Aren’t they so charming around the lights? I love the mix of greens and the blue berries!

If you love a beautiful wreath too you must check out Laura’s selection over at roundwreath.com ! You can also use code THETATTEREDPEW15 for a 15% off discount!

Good Morning Kelly! What a beautiful tour! Your home looks so splendid dressed up in all the green and red and of course the plaid! Love the way you used the plaid blankets all over your home! And if I came to your home I just might have to hide that tree in the gorgeous blue and white pot under my coat and bring it to StoneGable! Thank you for organizing the tour and being so kind while you try to herd all of us bloggers. God bless you and magnify Himself in your life this blessed season!

Good morning Yvonne! You kind words were just what my heart needed this morning, so thank you! I adored your tour as always and feel so thankful you were able to join! Blessings to you and yours this Christmas as well!

Kelly, your home looks very beautiful. I love the plaids worked into your decor. It’s beautiful for the holidays.

There is just something so appealing about plaid to me! Thank you!

Kelly, what a beautiful home tour! I love all the greenery and your office is gorgeous! Thanks again for hosting, friend. Pinned! Wishing you a joyous Christmas season! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction

Thank Cecilia, and thank you for joining in! Christmas blessings to you as well!

Kelly your home is gorgeous dressed for Christmas.

The chair and table look pretty in this spot and love the tree.

I have candles everywhere this time of year.

Mike’s office is gorgeous and how fun to have a tree with family ornaments in the room.

Love the shutter and prints too.

Thanks for hosting again. Beautiful home as always

Thank you Cindy!

Kelly Your tour is just lovely. The pew at the base of your lovely staircase was so cozy. Everything was so perfect.

Thank you Rachel! I am so excited to see yours!!!

So very beautiful, Kelly! I am a traditionalist with red and green too. Your count of plaid was close to what I had prior to downsizing, but now that we’re upsized a bit and in our cottage, I have the chance to begin again, right?? (ps, I’m still crushing on the grass green throw you had on the bench in the prior home!). Like you, I’ve furnished with not Marketplace, but a lot of estate sale finds. Love all your touches throughout your home, but the nativity vignette with the shutter leaning against the wall is one of my favorites. The blue & white chinoiserie is gorgeous. Happy holidays!

Aww so sweet of you Rita! thank you! I still have that green throw…I need to get it out! Have a wonderful Christmas my friend!

I LOVE all the pops of traditional red and green, Kelly! You did an amazing job styling your home for Christmas…everything looks just beautiful!

Thank you, Rachel! The red was calling my name this year. Thanks for stopping by!

Oh my goodness, Kelly. Each photo is more gorgeous than the next. I LOVE your beautiful home all decked out for Christmas. Thank you so much for hosting such a fun tour. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season!

Thank you Jen and thank you for joining me. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!

Your house looks so beautiful! So warm and inviting. I love the blue from your kitchen and your husbands office. I’m going to paint my family room one of those colors. Thank you for sharing. Thank you also for including me in this tour. Hugs and blessings to you.

Thank you Renae! Looking forward to yours!

KELLY!!! We are all coming to your house it’s decided!! I love seeing your beautiful home and the way you decorate makes it feel like a home away from home for me. It’s cozy and welcoming everywhere I go. I love the Norfolk pine greens you used and the vintage book From Manger to Throne, the way you hung wreaths over your lights with the bows off to the side (doing that next year, THANK YOU!), and your gorgeous 4.5-foot table tree in the entryway corner. Did I mention your Santa all lite up reminds me of Christmas when I was growing up?? Mom always put her little Santa collection in the entryway too. Love you and thank you for including me on this hop!!

Thank you Aliya! I love decorating for Christmas!

What a beautiful home tour Kelly! You do red and green so well, and your fun plaid patterns around your home just makes my heart sing! The table top tree in the blue and white chinoiserie is exceptionally pretty, and a look I would love to recreate!

Thank you Michelle! So excited for your tour!

I love your combination of patterns here, Kelly! Every detail is so gorgeous!

Thank you Robyn! Merry Christmas!

Your house looks beautiful for the holidays! So well decorated. I love your dining room table! Pinned.

Thank you AnnMarie!

Your home looks so cozy, and the red and green Christmas palette looks lovely, Kelly! And, I don’t think you might need to consider your plaid blankets a collection… they just are! 😉 And your tree is SO pretty! Pinned, and thanks for hosting this tour! And being so patient with those of us that lose track of time! 😉

Thank you Julie! So glad you were able to join. Love you lots and Merry Christmas!

Saddened that I couldn’t link to at least half of these pages. Not sure why they were taken down but very disappointed. It is a busy time of year and was hoping to enjoy your link party very early this morning when no one else was awake but “no luck”

If you come back on Friday they will all be linked! It is a week long tour and 7 more will share each day. Merry Christmas!

Kelly how beautiful! I love all the plaid and pretty spaces. The office is so cool! I love how you decorated it – we have a library that looks similar but I’ve done nothing with it yet. Thanks for organizing another amazing group!!! Merry Christmas!

Kelly, I am all heart eyes over here; your home looks absolutely magical for the holidays! I wish I could just come to sit in that beautiful kitchen with you and sip on some hot coffee. LOVE IT, my friend!! Thank you for hosting such an amazing blog hop. xoxo, Brendt

Thank you Brendt! We will have you over real soon…I know Andy and Mike would be fast friends! Merry Christmas!

I love your husband’s office Kelly! And that he is happy with a tree in that room! Now I need to convince my husband of doing that… Thank you for coordinating this awesome group once again my friend! So much fun inspiration for sure!

Thanks Pasha! Honestly I didn’t ask I just did it. And Guess what, I came home the other day and he was in there working and had the lights on!!! So I know he loves it!

Beautiful tour, Kelly! Love all you touches of plaid; it just makes a home so cozy. And thanks so much for coordinating this amazing tour of homes!

Thank you Lora! I’m a huge plaid fan! And thank you for joining me this week!

Kelly I love the traditional architecture of your home and how you’ve updated that look with your own unique style. I’m a plaid fan too, and you’ve done a great job of mixing it all up. Loving seeing the tour, have a wonderful Christmas season!!

Thank you Debra! It has been such a joy to decorate this house! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Your home is so beautiful Kelly and I love all of the green and red details. Love the simple tree in the office. It’s the perfect touch.

I love your holiday home Kelly! The flocked tree with oversized red ornaments is beautiful! Thank you very much for hosting this tour!

Just absolutely gorgeous! Our love of plaid knows no boundaries! Your home looks so perfect and festive for the holidays. It’s cozy, warm and welcoming!

I love the Norfolk pine garland on the mantel and of course the green dresser! I have a few old shabby white pieces around here that I am thinking of painting that color!

I love what you did with the little awkard space for Christmas, it’s so pretty and perfect! Of course as a music teacher, decorator and love of all things vintage, I think a beautiful vintage piano would be perfect for there too! Even if no one in your family plays yet, old pianos are so beautiful and fun to decorate! And maybe if it is there some one might try to play around on it. Most kids these days don’t even need lessons with all the youtube tutorials.

Such a beautiful tour with each space styled to perfection! Thanks so much for organizing this!

Merry Christmas!

What an absolutely beautiful Christmas tour Kelly! The old brass bucket holding the poinsettias is beyond wonderful. And the blue and white porcelain pot with the tabletop Christmas tree is so pretty. I really want to get some clip-on candles for my trees. Thank you for hosting this amazing blog hop tour, my friend. I love these so much.

Your home is absolutely stunning! I adore all of the special touches. The antique Manger To Throne book is a true treasure!

Well thank you, friend!

I love the traditional plaids and colors you’ve used this year. It’s so pretty and they go so well with your beautiful home. And I don’t even like red! Love the idea of the ornaments in the clear jar too. I have one and was wondering what I wanted to do with it this year. Well now I know. I always get so much inspiration from you. Guess that’s why you have a show! So excited for you. Merry Christmas Kelly

Oh Cindy you always make me smile! Thank you for your kind words, still wondering how I got a show? ha!

Kelly is your home absolutely beautiful! I love how you are able make the color blue relevant for any season, truly inspiring! Thank you for including me in this blog hop, it’s an honor to be included with such talented bloggers. I wish you and your family a very happy holiday season!

Thank you Heidi! That was my goal! So happy you could join, Merry Christmas!

2022 Christmas Home Tour – My Home

I am so excited for our 2022 Christmas Home Tour.  This year we have 26 beautiful homes sharing their amazing Christmas decor over the next 5 days.  Grab a cup of coffee or your favorite drink and enjoy the first 5 homes on today’s tour.  I am starting things off – 2022 Christmas Home Tour – My Home.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

When you enter our home you walk right into the living and dining area.  This two-story wall opposite the seating area is where I’ve set up a pretty console to serve as our entry.  The large tree is usually in the front window, but I had to move it here to make room for the Christmas Tree.  I like how it looks in this space too.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

This is the perfect spot to drop off your keys and packages as you enter the house.  My coat and purse always wind up on the chair.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

A small forest of trees and a bowl full of copper and green ornaments create a simple vignette.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

This year I went really simple with my decor.  A lot of our family will be spending Christmas with the In-Laws, so ours will be a much smaller Christmas than usual.  Instead of the big 9′ tree, I pulled out my little slim 7′ flocked tree to use.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

I love a neutral room, it just feels so calm and relaxing, so I went with beige, copper and green as my colors this year.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Since our living area and dining area are all one long room, I like to keep the colors the same in each space.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

You can see my full post on the dining area here.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

I kept most of the color in the room for the tree.  It is small, but it is pretty with varying shades of green and pops of gold and copper.  A few soft camel-colored pillows give a hint of copper to the sofa.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Santa and a small forest of trees on the coffee table.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

One of my favorite Christmas decor items is these fun stocking reindeer and my burlap and feather tree.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Our trees always have my cherished Doves.  I’ve had these for years and they always make an appearance. reminding us of loved ones spending Christmas in Heaven.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Thanks so much for visiting us this year.  We love sharing our home and inviting all our friends in.  I wish you all the Merriest of Christmas.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Now check out these beautiful homes our next four ladies are sharing on today’s tour.

StoneGable –  Yvonne loves to decorate her home to perfection, and she generously shares her knowledge with all of us through her tutorials.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Thrifty and Chic –  Alicia’s home is filled with her amazing thrifty Farmhouse finds.  Her rooms are always magazine worthy.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Southern Home and Hospitality –  Kate’s home is regal and stately, but she always makes it feel so warm and inviting.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Worthing Court –  Suzy has a beautiful sense of color and showcases just how beautiful Traditional decor can be.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Be sure to come back all week to see all the tours.  You really don’t want to miss a single one.

So beautiful and serene. Can almost hear Silent Night playing softly in the background. Love the doves. ❤️

' src=

Merry Christmas Marty! Your home is dressed up so beautifully for Christmas. What a smart idea to keep your colors the same throughout your open home. I noticed your stunning collection of trees sprinkled throughout your home. Perfection! I was so touched by the doves in the tree. This year I lost someone so dear to me and I shed a little tear when you talked about them. What a lovely idea! If I can find a dove, I would like to borrow your tradition and add one to my tree too. Thank you for including me in your tour. xo

' src=

Such a beautiful tour, Marty. I am so in love with your color palette and I think your doves bring such a heart-felt touch to your holiday styling. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.

' src=

Marty your home looks stunning with its neutral holiday decor! The gold, copper, and green make it so beautifully elegant. And those sweater deer and burlap feather trees are quite a find – I’ve never seen any like that before. I had to pin your gorgeous tree with the doves. It’s such a lovely idea and more elegant than the bright red cardinals that people also decorate with to remember their loved ones. I’m going to be on the lookout for one to add to our tree so you may have started a tradition here as well. I am always thrilled to be a part of your tour with this amazing group of talented ladies. Thank you for inviting me and have a wonderful holiday!!

' src=

I’ve looked at your very beautiful Christmas! Will look at the rest soon. Thank you for sharing! Merry Christmas Marty! Dolly

' src=

What a beautiful tour, Marty! The tree looks perfect in front of the window and I love all the sparkle. Thanks for hosting this fabulous tour! Shelley

' src=

I enjoyed your Christmas home tour so much, Marty. There were so many favorites: the copper and green ornaments, stocking reindeer, and the burlap feather tree. But my very favorite was the meaning behind the doves in your gorgeous flocked tree. It touched my heart so much. I appreciate the work you do to put this seasonal tour together and am so happy to be included. Merry Christmas.

' src=

Marty, thank you for hosting this Christmas tour! I love your colors this year! My heart is drawn to the neutral palette. The doves are a beautiful reminder of those in heaven! I love that! I think I’m going to have to go look for a few doves for our tree.

' src=

Marty, I find your Christmas home so calming for the season. I just love the neutrals with a touch of glam.

' src=

So many beautiful little details!

' src=

Miss Marty you have outdone yourself! I love all of the pretty touches of copper and green paired with the neutrals. Thank you for hosting the most wonderful tour of the year!

' src=

Gorgeous as always, Marty. I love the copper tones you’ve used throughout your decor and I especially love your tree with the doves. Merry Christmas!

' src=

Such a beautiful home! Thanks for hosting!

' src=

Gorgeous as always, Marty and I LOVE your colors! Your touches throughout are always so beautiful. Thank you so much for organizing everything, it is always so appreciated! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and all the very best in the coming year…you deserve it my friend. xo

' src=

Your home is so beautiful Marty…your decor feels calm and serene, perfect for this busy season! Thank you so much for hosting this fantastic Christmas home tour!

' src=

I really enjoyed your Christmas tour with all of it’s gold and shine. The sweater deer are fabulous as well. But your collection of trees is my fave! Makes me think I am missing out though or that I need more! Thank you for getting us all together. Merry Christmas!

' src=

Beautiful tour Mary, your home looks gorgeous decorated for Christmas! Thank you for including me in this holiday tour, it was so much fun. Merry Christmas!!!

' src=

The slim tree is so pretty Marty. It really looks great in your open layout and I love the view from the dining area to the living room. Cozy and elegant. Merry Christmas and thanks a bunch for all you do for us!

' src=

So pretty! I love the restful look. Merry Christmas!

Making Spirits Bright || Our 2022 Christmas Home Tour

in Christmas on 12/07/22

Welcome friends! Come on in for a look at our Christmas home! My hope is to inspire you with a new idea or two and I hope you feel warm and welcome as we take a virtual stroll. We’ve been busy little elves decking the halls and prepping for Christmas.  This year I really did simplify my decorations and it feels great as I try to just “keep it simple” in many areas of my life. In fact, I shared a fun series called “Real Mom’s Guide to Holiday Magic” where I shared TEN SIMPLE IDEAS for creating holiday magic in your own home. I would love for you to go over and take a peek over on Instagram by clicking here  ===>   INSTAGRAM@SOUTHERNHEATHER

Today I am joining an inspiring group of bloggers who are also sharing their homes all linked down below. If you are coming over from Simply2Moms – Welcome!  I am so glad you are here.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

If you are new here, I’m Heather, the home-zhushing-iced-coffee-drinking-mom behind the blog. My husband and I live in Atlanta with our two boys – ages 8 and 11.  This is our sixth Christmas in this home, which is hard to believe, and while at this point I like to do some of the same tried and true decorations for Christmas, I still enjoy some tweaking here and there.

This blog brings me so much joy and I am so glad you are joining me today to have a look around! One way to get caught up with me lately is to read my  Front Porch Coffee Talks where I share what’s on my mind like old friends chatting over coffee.

Alright! Well with no further ado- let’s go on in and see our 2022 Christmas home.

|FRONT PORCH & FOYER| Making Spirits Bright 2022 Christmas Home Tour

Come on in!

I always love adding a garland and a wreath to the front porch. So simple. So pretty.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

I love clipping flowers from the yard for fresh greenery. And a shiny mint julep cup is always a good idea. So simple. So pretty.

|LIVING ROOM|  Making Spirits Bright 2022 Christmas Home Tour

Moving along into the heart of our home is our living room.  What can I say, it’s all about the Nutcrackers in here! I also swapped out some plaid pillow covers which are an easy addition because they can be folded and stored away easily.

| KITCHEN | Making Spirits Bright 2022 Christmas Home Tour

The kitchen is truly the heart of our home and probably where I spend most of my day. As I mentioned above, I kept things VERY simple this year and the kitchen is probably the simplest I’ve ever done at Christmas. But I just love the simplicity and it is what I need in this otherwise busy life!

I shared how I created this really simple kitchen island centerpiece using four things I had on hand in a way. I just love it on the kitchen counter. And I love burning that yummy Christmas candle. You can see the full post here: SIMPLE KITCHEN ISLAND CENTERPIECE IDEA

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

The wreath, candle and ornaments are the perfect festive touch without being too busy. So simple. So pretty.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

I also had some fun making this pretty arrangement. YES- those are gold spray painted limelight hydrangeas. And YES, I love them!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

I also added a few spray painted hydrangeas to this wreath and added a pretty brown velvet bow. So simple. So pretty.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Oh, and while we are in the kitchen- I figured I would share these ADORABLE Santa brownie bites I made with only three ingredients. Perfect for an easy Christmas dessert. You can see the full post here: SANTA BROWNIE BITES

| DINING ROOM|  Making Spirits Bright 2022 Christmas Home Tour

In keeping with the simple theme, I just used lots of greenery in here and pretty much did the exact same thing I did last year. I just really loved the metallics with the wallpaper ceiling. I did add a little pop of red with those Christmas tree folded napkins.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Gotta love a big old bowl full of ornaments! So simple. So pretty.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Well, that does it for me today! I hope you enjoyed this simplified Christmas home tour. A huge thanks to Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for organizing today’s holiday tour. Be sure to head over to Chalking Up Success who is sharing her halls all decked out too!

Heather your home is so beautiful, it’s always one of my favorites! I LOVE your nutcracker collection, especially mixed in with your blue and white. So beautiful! Merry Christmas! xo

Oh I love, love, love it all. The kitchen vignettes are perfect and I love the bowl with pretty ornaments, and the arrangement on the stove with feathers is so pretty too. I think my favorite is how beautifully you do all of your garlands. The one on the dining room console is stunning. Your Nutcraker collection is also a favorite every year. Thanks so much for joining the tour again this season, your home is always filled with such special ideas and decor.

I’ve never thought to spray paint hydrangeas before but goodness, it’s lovely and so clever! And I love your home and all the extra touches here and there. Makes me want to clear out my kitchen (too much crap on the counters) and start over! Are those little doors next to your stove and lamp? Curious minds want to know! Enjoyed hopping with you today. Merry Christmas!

I am not very crafty so please share how I you hung your wreath over your doors. It doesn’t look like you have a wreath holder. It looks like the ribbon goes over door while looping onto the inside wreath? I’m confused. Please share.

BLOGGERS’ BEST HOLIDAY HOME TOUR 2022

This week is the Bloggers’ Best Holiday Home Tour! I am excited to be joining these 34 fabulous ladies for their Christmas Home Tours. Talk about inspiration!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Everyday starting with Monday and ending on Friday, 35 bloggers will be sharing their beautiful homes that are decorated for the holidays.

A special thank you to our host and friend, Kelly with  The Tattered Pew for organizing this amazing blog hop.

If you are coming over from Mansa with This Is Simplicite welcome! Mansa is a beautiful place for the holidays. Wasn’t it stunning?

For those of you that are new, I am Tammy. Welcome to my home called White Lilac Farmhouse. You will see that my style is a blend of old items with new.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

We have a modern built farmhouse with an open concept. The rooms on the main floor flow into each other.

With an open concept home, my holiday colors need to flow throughout my spaces. It will give the rooms a more cohesive look.

In my holiday decorations there are lots of greens, golds, bluish green, silver with pops of red in my spaces.

Warm & Cozy Christmas Home Tour 2022 (13)

The entryway is right across from the dining room with no walls separating the areas. This vintage dresser holds napkins, placemats, table runners, etc. The spillover that will not fit in the buffet.

The wreath over the dresser lights up at night. It’s set to a timer.

The three trees, I made from twine and paper. The bases are candle holders found at a thrift store for $1 each. You can see the tutorial for these Twine Wrapped Christmas Trees are here .

DINING ROOM

The tree in my dining room has a collection of vintage ornaments collected over the years. Berry picks have been placed throughout the tree. The unusual tree topper seen in this video is a wooden reindeer.

A Christmas present to myself were these beautiful dishes. They are the Tahoe Stoneware Dinnerware Collection . The minute I saw them, it was instant love with the Scandinavian design on these plates. Are they not pretty?

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

My tablescape was kept simple. A table runner on the center of the table. The greenery stems with pinecones not a garland.

A couple of mercury glass trees found at HomeGoods add a focal point. The sunlight bounces off the mercury glass. Silver jingle bells and votive candle holders create a festive look with some extra sparkle too.

FAMILY ROOM

You can see that my furniture, walls, and draperies in my spaces are all neutral. I love to add color through accessories.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

It helps me to bring in different colors throughout the seasons.

Warm & Cozy Christmas Home Tour 2022 (18)

My sofa is 103″ long and perfect for my 6′ 1″ husband to take naps on. The long bench cushion is perfect for snuggling with the grandchildren to watch Christmas movies.

To make this space cozy, there are lots of toss pillows with different textures. A Mongolian Faux Fur Hide is on the coffee table with a wooden bowl of glass ornaments.

I kept the pillows more winter verses Christmas. These pillows can stay out through the winter months, not just Christmas.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

The basket on the fireplace holds extra throws. Perfect for lying on the floor to watch holiday movies if the sofa is full.

Warm & Cozy Christmas Home Tour 2022 (21)

Miss Piper and Chibi, our French Bulldogs love to hog the sofa. We have a ramp that they use to get on the sofa.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

We have six windows in this room. Sunlight floods through the window throughout the day.

Two small 4 ft. trees flank the sides of the fireplace. The garland is on a timer and pops on in the evening. I love the green with the creams, golds, and a tiny bit of red in here.

Warm-Cozy-Christmas-Home-Tour-2022-16

This white vase is usually in the room too along with the oversized vintage dough bowl. I sprinkled Christmas in areas without removing my main items.

A brass deer candle holder placed on top of the books for that winter vibe. The brass display case was perfect to hold some miniature ornaments. A few greens and berry stems in the vase for the holiday. Extra teal and aqua ornaments in the dough bowl with seafoam color burlap and a strand of beads.

More faux greens adorn the stair rails. You can create vignettes of items on the kitchen counter. Here a simply vignette in the middle of the island is on a cutting board. I tried to keep things simple, and my counters uncluttered. A snowman adorns an existing display on the counter by the stove.

Your home is so beautiful!! Love everything that you decorated for the holidays!! Pinned.

Your table is gorgeous and I love your dishes. I love the puppy years. I have 13 baby teeth from Peanut and Reeses. Pinned!

Thank you, Cindy. Puppy is doing well but she is chewing on stuff!

Tammy, your home looks so beautiful and so is that picture of you! You know I love those dishes and you have your table styled so perfectly! I wish we were closer so we could have a Christmas tea! ❤️🎄

Oh Kim, I sure do with you and Jennifer both lived closer. The trouble we could get in shopping together.

Tammy, Your tour is so lovely. I loved the red and white deer plates and oh what sweet faces your fur babies have. So enjoyed touring with your this week.

Rachel, thank you so much. Those fur babies are spoiled rotten but so sweet.

Your home is everything I pictured it to be and you look lovely in it. Great pic!

You got a new puppy! Yay! I’m so happy for you. Merry Christmas my friend and thanks for sharing your home. Maybe someday I can come see it for real. Texas is still waiting on you. 😘

Merry Christmas 🎄 xo, Do

Do, you know I would love for your to come visit me. My door is always open to you my dear friend. Yes, we got a puppy. After we lost Chloe (12-years old) in September, Piper would not eat. She was grieving missing her friend. We were all heartbroken too. Out of the clear blue, Piper’s breeder sent me a text asking if I knew anyone interested in puppies. He had three available. I replied immediately and took the little girl. It was the best thing for Piper. Chloe never played much with Piper because she was old. However they were companions and laid together, hung out, etc. Now Piper has a playmate and she is great with the puppy.

Your home is decorated so beautifully. I love the expression your your sweet babies face. So cute!

Thank you so much, Renae. Merry Christmas!

Oh my Word!!! Your Christmas decor is gorgeous!!! And your sweet pup is a perfect ornament!!! ;)) Merry Christmas!!!

Thank you, Aliya. Chibi is something else. She keeps me on my toes. Her and Piper are so loving and spoiled rotten.

Lovely and so magical! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much, Jeanne. Merry Christmas.

Tammy, You have such a beautiful home and it looks even more amazing decorated for Christmas. I love all the cozy touches you’ve added and it was so fun to see your sweet dogs! Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Kelly, thank you so much for having me as part of the tour. I was delighted to tour with such wonderful and talented ladies. Everyone’s home tours were beautiful.

Your holiday tour is so lovely Tammy. The red and white deer plates are so perfect for the holidays. Your sweet fur babies have made my day. They are so sweet. Happy holidays my friend.

Your home looks so pretty and festive for the holidays!

Merry Christmas!

Thank you so much, Amber. Merry Christmas to you too!

Tammy, your home looks just lovely! And your photos are so good! Those paper trees you made are gorgeous, too! Did I miss a full size tree? Or did I read too fast and miss what you said about it? LOL! Love touring with you, my friend! Pinned!

Julie, you will laugh about the tree. You did not miss my big tree. My photos of the tree, a set of lights at the top went out. I had not noticed until the photos. It’s why there is a video of it on IG and not on the post. The world of blogging right?

Chibi steals the show!!

Jennifer, you may be right. She is full of personality too. The two of them have me laughing everyday.

You’ve added the perfect amount of Christmas around your home. It’s all so pretty but I think my fave is the gorgeous bowl of ornaments on your coffee table. Seriously beautiful! And those pups are so stinkin’ cute! I imagine they keep things lively around there. Enjoyed hopping with you this week. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Cindy! Thank you so much. That wooden bowl with the ornament is one of my favorites too. It’s just so simple too!

Tammy, your home looks so beautiful and those darn dogs are just the cutest things ever. I have a french bulldog grandaughter :))) So fun touring with you this weel

Wendy, thank you so much. You will have to send me a picture of you Frenchie Grand dog. They are such a sweet and loving breed. We have always had Boston Terriers here until two years ago when we got our first Frenchie. The girls are spoiled rotten.

Tammy your home looks so beautiful and inviting! I absolutely love those red and white dishes but the best thing is those sweet puppies. Have a Merry Christmas my friend!

Kate, Merry Christmas to you as well friend. Those pups like to photo bomb too especially Piper. She is a big ham. The little one could care less.

Your home is so graciously welcoming, Tammy. And your dogs are picture-perfect adorable! I’m drooling over your vintage green scale. I’ve got a whole collection buy haven’t found the perfect green one yet:) Merry Christmas!

Lora, that green scale in that color was a hard find. Like you, I had been searching for one in a pretty green. I found this one and it was perfect. I got luck.

So much to love here, but you had me with those adorable pups! And I love that your hubby stepped up to be a blogging hubby! The things we ask them to do. LOL.

Happy Holidays my friend!

Thank you, Libbie. Those little pups bring me so much joy. Piper was a COVID pup. I got her during the COVID shut down. She was a life saver being away from family.

Your home looks beautiful, Tammy! I love your new dishes. But I especially love Piper and Chibi reveling in their holiday home. xo

Including your tour in tomorrow’s weekend meanderings post. xo

Thank you so much, Juliet. I am thrilled that you included me. Merry Christmas, sweet friend. Hugs xoxo

Thank you, Juliet. Those little gals love to have their photos taken. That little Chibi is something else. She is not as mellow as Piper.

Christmas Home Tour

christmas-tour-living-room-7-graphic

Welcome to my Christmas Home Tour! I am absolutely giddy with excitement to be hosting my first ever Christmas home tour! Last year I didn’t have a blog but I remember wishing I did just to be able to do a tour of my home decked out for the holidays! I never imagined that starting this blog back in June would lead to so many friendships!  Besides the fact that I am having so much fun decorating for Christmas and being able to share my home with you! I’ve gathered seven of my friends to join in on the Winter Bloggerland Tour . If you’re new to the blog and hopping over from Nesting With Grace , WELCOME! I’m so happy you’re here!  There’s no better time to welcome guests into my home than for the holidays!

Today I’ll be sharing my home in Colorado.  If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know that we have a cottage  in Naples, FL too!  We will be there right after Christmas to warm up a little bit on the beach!  I don’t want to take up too much time with formal introductions, you can read more about me here .  But in a nutshell, I’m Shauna, I have an amazing hubby and three boys that melt my heart completely!  They put up with all of my design obsessive behaviors!  Now on to the tour…

TheLivingRoomgraphicNEW

This is the first year I’ve had a flocked Christmas tree and oh my goodness…LOVE!  I found this 10 foot flocked tree from Wayfair and can’t believe it came out of a box! It’s so pretty that I decided to decorate it with simple ornaments in shades of emerald, silver and gold. These little disco ornament balls reflect speckled lights all over my ceiling and wall with the sun hitting them on the coffee table.  I love when unexpected things like that happen! So magical!

Christmas-tour-living-room-10

The mantle is ordained with simple garland and prancing reindeer.  The art work makes a bold statement so I like to keep my mantle more simple. We hang the stockings the night before Christmas as a tradition in our home.

christmas-tour-living-room-19

How perfect is this “Oh, baby you’ll freeze outside” pillow by this cute  Etsy shop.  The weather in Colorado is definitely freezing and we’ve had a few big snowfalls already.

Christmas-tour-living-room-9

The stairs have simple garland with these amazing glitter ball strands that I found at Marshalls and Homegoods. I love how much fullness they add!

Christmas-tour-garland-stairs

It’s the little things that make me smile, like this JOY lighted sign from Target. I had holiday decorating on mind when we built this home so I made sure there were outlets on those upper cabinets for twinkle Christmas lights.  My Ballard Designs chandeliers get adorned with greenery every year as well.

christmas-tour-kitchen-6

The kitchen table is an eclectic mix of red, gold, and a little cheetah print.  The pop of red in my predominantly white kitchen is bold yet traditional.  I draped a plaid scarf over my bench because every home needs a little plaid for Christmas. The fur table runner may be staying for a while…why not leave it until Valentines Day. Those cheetah print pillows from Homegoods…they make me so happy!

Christmas-tablescape-gold-red-3

I used Merry Christmas gift tags from Target for a festive touch to my holiday napkins.

Christmas-Txablescape-red-gold-9

I have fond memories of red compote dishes from my childhood.  My grandmother always served ambrosia in these before our Christmas meal.  This year I’m going to make her recipe and serve this sweet appetizer for my family. You can see more of my Christmas table here .

christmas-home-tour-hot-coco-station-collage

The hot cocoa station is where I display my vintage looking Christmas pieces.  The stitched Christmas tree mugs were from Target a couple of years ago.  The striped mugs and hot cocoas are from Homegoods. I’ve collected a few vintage looking santa pieces over the years and this one is my favorite.

christmas-home-tour-hot-cocoa-station-3

Every year I buy my boys a new tree ornament.  This year they got this vintage car with tree from Target.  It’s the cutest little thing I’ve ever seen!  I had to borrow it for this photo!

FRgraphicNEW

Our family room is where you will find us watching movies or gathering with friends.  We have white board and batten on the walls which is one of the best improvements we have made to our home!  I love this large space because it shows the transitional modern look I love. Adding simple Christmas touches is all it needed!

christmas-home-tour-merry-sign

The buffalo check plaid pillow covers are my Pottery Barn favorites! I covered my normal decorative pillows with them and love that all I need to store after Christmas is the pillow cover rather than a bulky pillow.  I love the warm cozy feel of fur in my home and add it to almost every room. I found this fur blanket at Homegoods and draped it over our ottoman…so warm and fuzzy to rest your feet on.

christmas-home-tour-family-room

I’ve always wanted a white Christmas tree.  I found this one on clearance last year from At Home and had to wait all year to set it up!  I placed it in an old painted urn I had on hand which dressed it up even more.  The gold baubles are stunning against the white.  I’m going to be so sad when January comes and I have to pack this one away.

christmas-home-tour-white-tree-2

Welcome to my Bar!  My absolute FAVORITE space in my home!  It’s swanky and chic and I’m pretty much obsessed.  You can see more of it HERE .  It sits right off of our family room and is such a fun gathering spot. You’ll be seeing more of this scene in the upcoming weeks…

Christmas-home-tour-bar-1

Getting ready to celebrate the New Year with champagne.  POP FIZZ CLINK!!

I had so much fun getting the house ready for this tour!  Opening the doors to all of you out there made the work so worth it!!  Later this week, I’ll be sharing my guest bedroom dressed up for Christmas and my office got a little sprinkle of holiday cheer too! Here’s a little glimpse…

be-my-guest-for-christmas-1

I hope you are enjoying this holiday season and are surrounded by love and joy.  In the midst of the hustle and bustle of this time of year, I reflect on what Christmas is really all about.  It’s not about the gifts that we receive or give each other, but it’s about Christ’s birth.  He is the true gift to us and the only One who brings us true hope and joy. May you find peace in knowing this.  From my home to yours, I wish you a Merry Christmas!

The next stop on the Christmas Home Tours is my friend, Brittany at Addison’s Wonderland .  Love this girl and love her style! I promise you don’t want to miss her home!

The goodness keeps on going in these homes so be sure to stop by each one!  There’s a wonderful eclectic mix of styles that are sure to inspire you!  You should probably refill that cup of coffee or hot cocoa now…my friends are waiting for you!

Hello! This is remarkable! #homegoals 🙂 Where did you get the artwork above your mantel with the artists’ names on it? It’s absolutely perfect!

Hi Nicole! Thank you! I’ve had the artwork above my mantel for a number of years and purchased from a local design store here in Colorado Springs called All About Home. Sorry I don’t have an online resource for you. Thanks for stopping by the blog! Shauna

Hi there, I love the yellow chairs – did you have those upholstered and if so what fabric and color is it? Thanks

Hi Wendy! The chairs came in that yellow color and were from Macy’s furniture a few years ago. 🙂

Christmas Home Tour 2022 – Primary Bedroom

Christmas · Decorating · Holiday Ideas · Home Tours

Today’s stop on our Christmas home tour is our primary bedroom. You’ll find simple but elegant Christmas decor. My goal was to strive for a classic and timeless Christmas bedroom. I hope you love it as much as we do!

Happy Friday, friends! Today marks the fourth day of our Christmas home tour. Thanks for sticking it out with me all week. I hope that you’ve been inspired and have been able to collect some decorating ideas for you own home. If you’re coming here from Lisa’s beautiful home at  Shine Your Light , welcome! We’re going to kick off the weekend with a little tour of our primary bedroom. I’m thrilled to share, because I don’t think this room has been this tidy in weeks. Ha! Much like our kitchen, you’ll find simple but elegant Christmas touches in this room. Grab a cup of coffee and come on over!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

I stuck with some familiar favorites again this year. I rehung 2 strands of garland above our bed using three 3M hooks and added some fresh ribbon. It gives the room a bit of drama and pulls the eye upward. I purchased the garland at the Ballard Designs outlet store for $20 a couple of years ago, but I’ve linked it at the bottom of the post.

I don’t have any special Christmas bedding, but instead use ribbon and holiday decor that works with our room’s current linens. This room is usually sporting creams, blues and soft green colors. I once had someone ask if I keep our Christmas decor consistent throughout our home. When it comes to colors I don’t. I’ve always felt that the soul of the house is the same throughout, but each room has their own personality. When you discover your true style, you’ll find similarities in your decorating, but that doesn’t mean you can’t play with different themes and colors from room to room!

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

I almost didn’t put up a tree in this room. I wasn’t feeling very inspired or motivated, but I hated the thought of missing out on those sweet twinkling lights. I’m so glad I didn’t give into my lack of motivation, because we’ve loved having the tree all lite up each night. To keep the decorating simple, I used more of the caramel velvet ribbon that I used on our bannister on several of the limbs of the tree. I also hung silver glass ornaments. It has such a quietness to it that I love. You can find this exact tree HERE .

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Due to the height of our headboard and the size of the garland, I felt that the ribbon needed a little more impact. I decided to double up two different velvet ribbons to make bows. I attached it to the garland with a little floral wire. Both ribbons were purchased from Hobby Lobby. The caramel ribbon was a fall ribbon, so I’m not sure if it is still available. I’m sure they have something similar.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Just a couple tree clippings, a peppermint scented candle, and some mini glass ornaments give the dresser just the right amount of Christmas spirit. I try to avoid putting too many figurines or overly Christmas decor items everywhere, instead I like to scatter natural elements and leftover tree ornaments here and there.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Now, if we can keep this armchair clothes free . . . ha! What is it about a chair in the bedroom that draws family members to drop things off? Tell me we’re not the only ones!

Timeless Christmas Bedroom

I’m so glad you stopped by, friend! Be sure to check out the next blog in our hop – Dimples and Tangles . I just know Jennifer has a beautiful tour in store for you. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and happy decorating!

I’m so enjoying your room by room tour and seeing things close up. Your style of decorating is similiar to mine and I always come away with inspiration and ideas to try in my own home. Such a beautiful calming room, and I like the simple Christmas touches. I’ve been doing the same with little ornaments, bells, ribbon, and greenery sprigs…adding them in various places around the house. We have a chair in our bedroom that holds the decorative bed pillows while we sleep and a bench at the end of the bed that has usually has something on it, so you are not alone, and that’s okay! Our spaces are meant be used/lived in🙂. The stuff usually makes it to the closet eventually! Looking forward to seeing more of your home, you have such lovely style!

All your Christmas decorations have inspired me. I love the simple beauty of each room. I think your Christmas tree in the main bedroom is perfect. Thank you for providing sources for the items that are still available. Karen B.

Summer is here, bringing with it long, light-filled evenings and a bounty of vibrant flowers and herbs. Our agrarian area is especially beautiful this time of year, with roadside farm stands brimming with in-season fruits and vegetables—one of the true delights of summer life here. Despite the heat and humidity that can make summer challenging, I’ve learned to embrace both the highs and lows of the season, appreciating all the good it brings.

Summer reminds me a lot of decorating. There are aspects I absolutely love and others, well, not as much. One thing I do enjoy is adding seasonal decor to our home.

This year’s summer home tour is a bit different. Instead of showcasing entire rooms, I focused on specific areas within our foyer, living room, and dining room that highlight summer decor. My hope is that these featured spaces will inspire you! Seasonal decor is about infusing our homes with small touches that reflect the essence of the current season. In summer, this often means bringing the beauty of the outdoors inside!

I hope you enjoy this new take on a home tour!

A pretty wreath is the best welcome anyone can have when they come to my front door! A wreath sets the tone and feels for the decor and hospitality friends and family will find inside. I make a new wreath for almost every season. This year, my wreath is a homage to all the hydrangeas planted around our home.

No one will miss this wreath! It’s big and fluffy, and the white color stands out nicely on our door. This Hydrangea Wreath is so easy to make! Wouldn’t it look lovely on your front door!

cosmos on the foyer table

The first thing you might notice when you come into the foyer is the white vase filled with orange cosmos. I get my flowers at an Amish flower farm. They have acres and acres of flowers and greens. Rachel picks them right out of the field.

When I saw rows and rows of these beautiful blooms, I knew I wanted to use them in the foyer with some of my blue and white chinoiserie. Blue, white, and orange work wonderfully together because they are complementary colors. The key to using orange is to use lots of white with it and a little blue. This trick works every time.

I hang some of my straw hats and a big tote bag on a vertical hook. I often mention that it is easy to grab and go with these things as I head out the door. The hat with the black band and bow is my favorite. It’s a little worse for wear, but I think it is just broken in.

Let’s head to the Living Room

The Living Room

Our living room, aka the great room, is a small-ish open space perfect for our downsized lifestyle. Like the rest of our home, it lives large and can accommodate family and friends. I would like to say I rearranged the furniture in this room and other rooms in our home, but as hard as I try to think of other arrangements that would work, the arrangement I have now is the best without purchasing lots of new furniture.

So, instead of rearranging furniture, I rearrange accent decor and change up decor from one room to another.

The white buffet is a classic—actually, most pieces in our home are. I’m about as classic as they come.

white buffet- summer tour

My style is Transitional. Transitional is really a big umbrella style that lots of other styles, like Traditional, Modern Traditional, Mid-Century Modern, and even Farmhouse style, are a part of. I like classic furnishings, and our home has a relaxed style.

white buffet- summer tour

This summer, I kept the buffet decor rather subdued. I have a few white urns, all a little different, that I like to use as a base for these fluffy greens. In the center of the buffet is a large shallow bowl filled with a frosted glass ball garland. These remind me of sea glass.

One of the things I change seasonally is my pillows. Sometimes, I use what I already have, and sometimes, I get new ones. This summer, I got a few new pillows and used some I had.

For some time, I’ve been looking for pillows with a color palette that included warm neutrals (like our home) and a muddied but light blue/aqua. When I found the one below, I coordinated a pillow collection around it.

Pillows are an easy way to add seasonal beauty to a room. Have you noticed that pillows are taking on a very mismatched, random look? It’s a very trendy and interesting look right now. Although I think this is such a creative, interesting look, I usually coordinate mine.

summer tour- upholstered ottoman

Next to the far side of the sofa is an upholstered ottoman I use as a makeshift end table. I did not add any summer decor to the ottoman because we don’t need to add summer decor or accents to every flat surface. Adding summer decor to our homes is a balance we need to be done judiciously with a light hand.

As I have in the past, I used a rush bench as a coffee table this year. I love the textural, simple, almost cottage vibe it adds to our living room. If you have been following StoneGable for any time, you might know I have 8 coffee tables in my basement. Yes, eight!

I’ve had a very hard time finding The One I want in the living room on a more permanent basis! This is one piece of furniture I do move in and out of this room.

summer tour- summer coffee table

I love the idea of a piece of furniture that can double as something else! I used a white tray on the left side of the coffee to hold a couple decor books and a silver bee I got at a fundraiser auction.

Books are such an important part of my decor and serve several purposes! They add colors and design, work as risers, and tell a story. Decorating With Books is a post with tons of ideas for using the books you have in your decor.

I planted coral bells, along with diamond frost euphorbia, both perennials, in the white pedestal bowl that has a stress crack inside. I can’t use it for food any longer, so I repurposed it for plants.

I love to plant summer annuals and perennials inside. They last a long time with a little care and some, in the right, can continue to thrive inside. When I can see the plants are drooping or looking a bit stressed I plant them outside. I have many plants that started their life indoors at Tanglewood in our gardens outside.

Using Summer Annuals and Perennials Indoors . This post will show you how to plant, care for, and what to do when plants and flowers are spent.

On the other side of the rush bench coffee table is my favorite stack of books and a candle in a wicker basket. I have several of these candles and love using them inside and out in the summer.

A pair of my favorite new pillows rests on the spindle chairs that flank the fireplace. I love the block-print sunflower design—I am so fond of block prints!

Here’s a close-up of the pillow. The block print gives this summer-into-fall pillow a handmade look.

Now, let’s head to the dining room.

The Dining Room

Our dining room is small and open. For today’s tour, I set an easy summer table. I don’t usually keep my dining table set, but since I am featuring accent decor, what better to show you than an easy summer table.

bloggers christmas home tours 2022

Instead of using four of the same upholstered dining chairs, I swapped out one of them for a patterned bench from our bedroom.

Each place setting includes a round rattan placemat, a white dinner plate, and a salad plate. The salad plates are all different but coordinated.

A block print napkin is gathered up in a bee napkin ring, and I tucked a couple sprigs of fresh thyme I clipped from one of our raised bed gardens.

Herb Container Gardening: The Best Herbs To Use will introduce you to my favorite herbs and show you how to choose, plant, and take care of them. Herbs are one of my summer passions.

A hobnail white planter graces the center of the table, holding fresh bupleurum, a pretty perennial.

Enjoy the best of summer. Set a pretty and simple table.

When our table is not set, I put a big urn of fresh bupleurum in the center of the table.

Everything looks so beautiful and fresh! I love the candles! Is there a link for the candles? Happy Summer!

Yes, see the shopping guide below.

Hi Yvonne – Thank-you so much for what you do. I have followed you for some time and I’ve gotten lots of inspiration for my own downsizing adventure. Something I’ve noticed over the past year or so is that you seem to have given up on the “less is more” idea. I always loved the clean palette and the idea of changing things out without putting too much out at one time. It’s more restful to my eye and I can focus on your beautiful things. Please consider paring down. Enjoy summer! Every day is a blessing.

Hi Lynn, I know what you are saying. However, it is fun to try new things and change decor a bit. I will always have a neutral, restful color palette. Right now I’m enjoying my home with summer accents and more plants, flowers and herbs. Happy Summer.

Lovely interior. Enjoyed seeing the plants that you added. Where did you purchase what appears to be a brass bowl with the lamp in it? Great idea. Very fresh interiors.

I found the brass tray at Target, however, it is no longer in stock.

So many wonderful summer touches! I adore your collection of blue and white paired with textured neutrals. It’s always a joy to be on tour with you!

Laura, you and I have been doing this for ages together! It’s so nice of you to visit me! I’ll be visiting you this week too.

Your house looks beautiful all dressed up for Summer! I was curious where you purchased the block print sunflower pillows from.

Love all your summery blooms and beautiful decor! Great tips, Yvonne ❤️

Hi Alicia, I’m off to visit you now.

Yvonne, I have been anticipating this tour. Thank you. Lovely as always! You have the most lovely accessories using cream and bei Will you share where I could purchase the sunflower pillow?

[email protected]

Hi Nan, I did not see bupleurum in the spring. Rachel sells to Philadelphia and NYC and not to the public. I’m a friend of the family so they so they are gracious enought to sell to me.
