Definitely worth visiting while in Branson! The price was right and we spent a lot of time here. The drive through portion was great, not rushed at all (we went on a Saturday morning). My son really enjoyed playing at the park and going inside to see the monkeys and he really liked the rabbits. The foot safari was so much fun!! We fed the parakeets and the other animals outside.

My grandmother and I planned a day to do all the fun things in Branson and this place had to be the highlight of our day. We paid for the VIP experience and absolutely LOVED it! The staff was super nice and friendly, making our time more memorable. She got to interact with her favorite animal and got to learn some facts about them. I will definitely be recommending this place to all of my friends!

Most affordable and fun thing to do in Branson. Loved this with the family. We did the drive through zoo that was very fun careful the horses will bite your door handle!!!! Still very fun and well worth the price

Best zoo I have ever been to in my life!!! My whole family very much enjoyed this zoo. I have been to the St. Louis zoo, Indianapolis zoo, zoos in Florida, and many more and this zoo is by far the best. You can get very close to many different animals and there are many feeding and petting areas. My children were able to feed and pet ponies, goats, llamas, deer, kangaroos, Guinea pigs, rabbits, and many more! For 20$ for adults and 12$ for children you get to do a walking tour with many feeding and petting possibilities and and driving tour with additional feeding and petting possibilities if you would like too. The zoo is also very safe. It would be difficult or impossible for a child to get inside an animal's inclosure unlike some zoos. If your are looking for an even better experience the zoo as more expensive packages that are very cool. As for my family, we stuck with the base ticket and we definitely got our money's worth!

Photo of Tyler M.

Save your money. We did the basic tickets and only drove through. Not much to see really. Was expecting more encounters like open range, but all was fenced in. Money would be better spent at a real zoo.

Everything says they close at 5. We got there at 4:02 and they would not sell us ticket to get in. There are 10 of us and would have been a nice entry fee for them. Nothing says to get tickets one hour before closing! The ladies in the office were not nice! Our kiddos were looking forward to the zoo.

Photo of Pamela R.

My 10 year old daughter and I did the VIP admission today, and it was absolutely spectacular! Our guide was super knowledgeable about all of the animals. We got to pet a prairie dog, two sloths, two armadillos, a bunny, and many guinnea pigs, and we got to hold a Colombian red-tailed boa and a brown lemur as part of the VIP tour. We bought food to feed the parakeets, but they weren't hungry, so we took them back, and the lady in the office held them for us while we did the walking tour and went back afterwards, and the parakeets were hungry then, so we got to feed them. On the walking tour, I fell a few times, once skinning my knee and once twisting my ankle. The paved walkways have sharp drop offs that got me a couple of times when we were trying to feed the animals (which is allowed for certain animals). Overall though, we had a great time, and we thought it was well worth it!

Photo of Kyle R.

My 7, 4, and 1 year old loved it. So many animals that they've never seen before nor experienced.

Photo of Amanda T.

This place is a joke. First of all there was nothing on the ticket window that says no refunds. Secondly they had two enclosures that were being remodeled and no one told us about it. So when we went through the drive thru zoo the lane to the left was blocked off so we had to go through the feeding zoo which we didn't want to go through. Well we went though and the llamas were walking in the road and one laid down. He didn't move for a half hour, we were literally behind the llama trying to honk at it & rev the engine and it finally moved. This was proved by the lack of communication by the staff and management about the detour inside the park after my husband talk to them. All they gave you was excuses. Please save your money and go to the St. Louis Zoo in St. Louis, MO. As a St. Louis resident our zoo is free entry, you see way more animals and you only play for parking if you want. There is free parking as well around.

BRANSON PROMISED LAND ZOO HISTORY

Promised Land Zoo in Branson, MO was created by Jeff and Diane Sanders, as well as their five children, after they moved to a small farm in Eagle Rock in the early 1990’s from Chicago. For most of the 1990’s, the farm was used as a breeding facility for select in danger of disappearing forever and rare animals until the Sanders moved to a farm that was built in 1997 specifically for those efforts. At that time, the family decided it would be a great idea to open their gates to the public to share the animals, and so the Promised Land Zoo was born.

Since then, the zoo has grown and changed over time to include more animals and many rescued animals in need of a home. The Branson location of Promised Land Zoo was built in 2012. The park was founded to focus on education, preservation, and interaction with the animals for the thousands of guests that visit each year. The park helps increase health for shows in a good way with the highest standards of animal care, and employs mostly wildlife managers, people who try to reduce pollution and protect the Earth, and scientists who study living things to care for the animals.

Branson's Promised Land Zoo is the only zoo in Branson and houses many rescue animals across its 75-acre property. Among its critters are sloths, lemurs and reptiles. Admission also includes the drive-thru safari with antelopes, zebras, giraffes, camels and more. Like the rest of Branson, the zoo gets into the Christmas spirit and hosts a drive-thru lights display in November and December.

There are several ticket options for visitors to consider. Reviewers recommended purchasing the VIP Animal Adventure ticket, which costs about $55 for visitors ages 13 and older and $42 for children ages 2 to 12. With the VIP experience, visitors have the chance to feed, hold and interact with several of the zoo's creatures, including reptiles. Other included experiences range from a guided tram tour to a guided foot safari. Reviewers say the interaction with the zoo's animals make the pricey ticket well worth the money. Older visitors advised the foot safari was hard to navigate.

The Promised Land Zoo is about 4 miles west of downtown Branson on Red Route. It's open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and final admission to the zoo is at 4 p.m. Basic adult admission for visitors ages 13 and older starts at $26.95; admission for children ages 2 to 12 costs $17.95. Visit the zoo's website for more information along with pricing on different packages.

More Best Things To Do in Branson

drive through safari branson mo

#1 Silver Dollar City

One of the best amusement parks in the U.S. , Silver Dollar City is a unique theme park that combines both thrilling rides and entertainment, as it embraces a down-home, late 19th-century vibe. Even while visitors scream their heads off on the newest ride, they'll still feel like they've been transported to the 1880s. Attractions like the Frisco Silver Dollar Line Steam Train, which travels through Ozarks country, and the signature Fire-In-The-Hole roller coaster, an indoor coaster that rides through "town" and across a fiery bridge, help foster the old-time feeling. With about 100 craftspeople demonstrating heritage crafts, everything from blacksmithing to taffy pulling, visitors get a lesson in 1800s life. Travelers can even take home souvenirs made by the craftspeople, from lye soap to blown glass, along with homemade candies and candles. The food at Silver Dollar City centers around down-home favorites, including buffets and skillet meals. Along with its rides and shops, Silver Dollar City is known for its shows, which range from bluegrass pickers to gospel performers to musicals.

Although Silver Dollar City is family-friendly, some say that the park is best for kids who are 36 inches or taller since there's a height requirement for most rides. Recent travelers also mentioned the hills inside the park, recommending that future visitors be prepared to walk. Some also warned that opening weekend was extremely busy with traffic and ride lines and it's best to avoid. If you don't want to purchase snacks in the park, pack your own; Silver Dollar City allows visitors to bring in food and nonalcoholic beverages.

Buffalo Safari Jeep Tours – Custer, SD

drive through safari branson mo
