But there’s good news! The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is slowly opening its doors to Filipino travelers. You can now get a VOA or eVisa given that you have valid visas from specific nations (we listed them below).

NOTE: Philippine Passport Holders can’t enter Saudi Arabia via tourist visa unless they have a valid visa from these nations:

Saudi Arabia Visa on Arrival Requirements

Validity: short stay for up to 90 days

• Valid Passport – at least 6 months with 2 blank pages
• Holder of valid Schengen, US, or UK visa (These visas must be USED).
• Has entered the Schengen Area, US, or UK already – there must be an entry stamp.

Make sure that your Schengen, UK or US visa is used and valid before you enter Saudi Arabia to be able to obtain a VOA.

Pilgrim Visas

Umrah visa requirements.

Since Mecca is the holiest city in Saudi Arabia for Muslims, you can visit here anytime you want for as long as you will apply for an Umrah Visa. This visa is only applicable to our Muslim friends.

1. Umrah Visa Application Form and a recent standard colored passport size photograph ;

2. Valid Passport – valid for at least 6 months;

3. Medical Certificate – for children between 3 months and 12 years old, parents should consult their primary care doctors;

4. Confirmed Round Trip Ticket to and from Saudi Arabia;

5. Marriage Certificate or Children’s Birth Certificate – for a couple or family whose last names are different;

6. Certificate of Conversion to Islam is also required.

There is no Visa Fee for Umrah Visa. You can apply through the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Manila.

Hajj Visa Requirements

Unlike Umrah Visa wherein you can visit anytime, in the Hajj visa, there’s a specific date on when you can apply for one. Hajj is an annual pilgrimage to Mecca that follows the dates on the Islamic calendar. If you’re a Muslim, you’d probably know when this happens so you’ll get an idea of when you should apply.

1. Passport – valid for at least 6 months with at least 2 blank pages

2. 2 Passport-sized photos with white background

3. Visa Application Form – this must be signed and stamped by NCMF

4. Confirmed Round Trip Ticket 

5. International Certificate of Vaccination – issued by Bureau of Quarantine

6. Medical Certificate – for children 3 months to 12 old, parents should consult their primary care doctors

• Females must be accompanied by a male escort or relative. Proof of relationship must be submitted.
• Females over 45 may travel without a Mahram but with an organized group, however, a notarized no-objection letter from husband, son, or brother must be submitted.
• Applicants under legal age can’t be granted a visa if not accompanied by parents.

Saudi Arabia Transit Visa Requirements

1. Visa application form ;

2. Valid passport – a minimum of  6 months;

3. Two photos – with white background, 4×6 cm;

4. Confirmed Airline Ticket (at most 48 hours);

5. Valid Visa for the next destination ;

6. A confirmed reserved ticket    in and out of Saudi Arabia for at most 48 hours.

There is no visa fee for Transit Visas.

Philippine Passport holders are not yet eligible for Saudi Arabia eVisa. But we’re hoping that it will happen soon since the country is slowly opening its doors for Filipinos. For now, here are the countries that are eligible for Saudi Arabia eVisa.

1. Valid Passport ;

2. Soft Copy of Picture – must be 200×200 pixels and less than 18kb ;

3. Medical Insurance (you can buy at the website) ;

4. Credit or Debit Card for the Visa Fee.

Step-by-Step Guide on How to Apply for Saudi Arabia Tourist Visa (eVisa)

Step 1: Go to this website .

Step 2: Choose an individual and then what type of visa you want to apply for.

Step 3:  Register through this link and check your e-mail for verification. Log-in with your details.

Step 4:  Click “Add a New Application.”

Step 5:  Type in your personal details and upload your photo. Choose medical insurance and review your application.

Step 6:  Pay the necessary fees.

Step 7:  Wait for your online visa that will be sent to your e-mail. Print this and show this to the immigration officer together with your passport and medical insurance .

The Philippines offers visa-free entry to 157 countries . Therefore, if you are a citizen of one of these countries, there is no need to apply for a visa.

Requirements for Philippines Visit Visa

Here is the list of requirements to apply for a Philippines Visit Visa for  Iqama holders of Saudi Arabia;

• Filled Visa Application Form .
• One photos with white background.
• Salary Certificate stamped by Chamber of Commerce .
• 6 months bank statement.
• Exit Re-Entry Visa.
• Iqama copy.
• Passport + passport copy (valid for at least 6 months).

Once you have arranged all the required documents, all the applicants must visit either the Philippines Embassy in Riyadh or the Philippines consulate in Jeddah.

Saudi Arabia has lifted most of its travel restrictions to boost the tourism(Tourist Visa ) sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product to 10% as part of its Vision 2030. With this, the Kingdom has launched various visa options for tourists worldwide. If you are planning a trip to Saudi Arabia, you need to know everything about the tourist visa. This article is a guide on how to apply for a Saudi Arabia tourist visa, including the eligibility criteria, required documents, and the application process.

GCC residents can apply for a tourist visa through an eVisa, which allows them to visit Saudi for both Umrah and tourism purposes. According to Ahmed Al-Khateeb, the Saudi Minister of Tourism, GCC residents can apply for an eVisa regardless of their profession. The residency document should be valid for three months, and the passport must be valid for six months. If you are applying for children under the age of 18, a parent application is mandatory.

The internet and much of the 21st century is still quite unknown to the people living in the country.    Every year, the country receives between 4,000 to 6,000 Western tourists. The average number of foreign visitors in the country every year is 200,000. Concerted efforts are being made to ensure the number of people who visit the country reaches one million.   Foreigners are not allowed to take Saudi Riyals out of the country. There used to be restrictions on the interaction between foreign tourists and local people. However, those restrictions have been relaxed slightly in recent times. Disruptive behavior by tourists is not tolerated, this can lead to the imprisonment and torture of tourists.  

Types of Saudi Arabia Visa

• This visa is issued to persons traveling to Saudi Arabia for business purposes.
• The business visa application form must be completed in block letters.
• The letter must be filled only in the applicant's handwriting as third-party handwriting will not be accepted.
• No handwritten changes or correctional fluids will be accepted on the application form.
• Business travelers are to have a valid sponsor in Saudi Arabia. 
• It is advised that the sponsor comes from a reputable Saudi Arabian company.
• Proof of sponsorship is to be provided in the form of an invitation letter, certified both by a Saudi Chamber of Commerce,  and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• Business visa holders will need their visa sponsor’s permission to obtain a final exit visa to leave the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• A police report from the police in your country stating that you are not a criminal and have not been convicted of any crime should be provided.
• Certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever, Measles, Hepatitis A and B, and Polio is to be also provided.
• This visa will not be issued to foreigners who are under-qualified or do not have the right qualifications.
• Proof of medical insurance is required during the visa application process.
• Bank statement for the last 6 months is to be provided also.
• An original business introduction letter from your employer in Saudi Arabia printed on the company's letterhead is to be provided.
• The business introduction letter must include the company's registration number and details of its operations.
• It must also specify the visa type requested and the intended duration of the trip.
• Applicants are not to bring in any illegal items.
• A multiple-entry business visa is valid for up to 6 months and costs about 160USD.

Saudi Arabia Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

• This visa is issued to persons who are visiting Saudi Arabia for tourist purposes.
• Religious individuals/groups traveling for the purpose of Hajj and Umrah are also eligible candidates for this visa.
• Hajj visa applications are to be done via licensed travel agents only.
• This visa will not be issued to unrecognized groups, they are granted only to selected groups on a limited basis.
• The passport used in your application must be original and valid for at least six months beyond your stay in Saudi Arabia.
• Alongside a fully completed and signed tourist visa application form, travelers are also required to present a return ticket to their country of origin.
• Proof of medical insurance that covers the entire duration of stay is also needed.
• Applicants who are employed should provide a letter from their employer. 
• The letter should be printed on the company’s letterhead and must contain confirmation of the applicant's leave.
• Women travelers who are under the age of 25 years must be in the company of a male relative/watchman while in Saudi Arabia.
• Women traveling alone are not allowed to enter the country unless they will be met at the airport by a husband, a sponsor or a male relative.
• Muslim female passengers under the age of 45 arriving to perform Umrah or Hajj must also be accompanied by an immediate male family member that is 18 years of age or older.
• During your time in the country, you are not permitted to engage in any form of business activity.
• You are to provide a document that serves as proof of the incentive of returning to your home country.
• Proof of accommodation for the entire duration of stay is required.
• A visa for Saudi Arabia does not give the absolute right to enter the country, it is only an authorization.
• Whether or not the visa holder will be allowed to enter the country depends on the final decision of an immigration official.
• According to Saudi Arabia's law and tradition, entry may be refused to any visitor judged as behaving indecently.
• You should also note that a visa can be revoked at any time.
• Only travelers who have booked through an authorized tour operator are eligible for tourist visas.
• Tourists are advised to always respect local traditions, customs, and laws of Saudi Arabia.
• Travelers are advised to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever, Measles, Tetanus, Malaria, Hepatitis A and B, and Typhoid Fever before setting out to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia lifts ban on entry of visit visa holders from August 1

The Saudi Ministry of Tourism has lifted the ban on the entry of tourists and will allow visit visa holders from August 1.

Fully vaccinated tourists can enter the Kingdom without having to go for an institutional quarantine period after presenting an official vaccination certificate and proof of a negative PCR test of 72 hours on their arrival in the country, said Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Saudi visitors are also required to register their data related to vaccination doses on the new electronic portal in addition to filling in their data through the Tawakkalna application. The application will allow tourists to enter public places if they are fully vaccinated.

The vaccines approved in the Kingdom are: Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna and single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
