On a 1/2 Day Fishing Charter, there is trolling around the reefs for Kings and Sails. Then some bottom fishing for Snapper, Cobia, and a mix bag of other fish.

On the Full Day Fishing Charter, in the morning we troll on the 20nm reefs for Kings, Mahi, Sails and Wahoos. We then switch over to bottom fishing on reefs wrecks for Cobia, Grouper, Snapper (when in season) and lots of other reef fish in the Melbourne, Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral area. 

Deep Drop Fishing is where the electric reels come in to play as we fish in depths of 600'+ for Tile Fish and Yellow Grouper. We will then troll and look for weed lines, Mahi and Black Fin Tuna. Finally, we work our way back in to do some bottom fishing for AJs, Gag Grouper and other Snappers on the deep wrecks.

While our goal is to put you on fish, it is called “fishing” not “catching.” We want to make sure your expectations are realistic, so you can make an educated decision about spending your money. Fishing changes daily and fishing regulations have become stringent due to poor fisheries management. We have a lot of trips where everyone catches keeper fish. We also have a lot of trips where only a handful of people catch keeper fish. On rare occasions, we have trips where only a couple or possibly no one catches a keeper fish. Maybe if they changed the name to “catching” this will change but if the possibility of not catching fish will devastate you, you may want to rethink booking a trip. If you want to have a fun day on the water and enjoy everything it has to offer, fish or no fish, then we welcome you aboard and look forward to a fantastic trip!

I started fishing in the waters of Port Canaveral twenty years ago. Fishing is a passion of mine and over the years I have improved my skills significantly, and it has become my full-time job. I recently obtained my commercial license.

I have been successful thus far and would love to expand my horizons. At the beginning I was catching king fish, dolphin, and cobia for the local market but my real passion is sharing countless memories with family and friends.

When I first started this business, we had a center console twin outboard, go-fast boat. Well, I found out quickly that we needed something else. Don’t get me wrong, that’s nice, but for the family and kids that was not going to work. So, I decided to get the perfect charter boat with the whole family in mind. Shade was a must in this hot sun, toilet was a must for the women and children. Big coolers to hold ice and drinks all day and comfy seating. All while keeping a nice smooth ride. And we can’t forget big fish kill boxes.

I found the Stuart Angler. It was the perfect charter fishing boat for Cocoa Beach and Port Canaveral area. At 33 feet she gives us plenty of shade and a great ride. Since I liked it so much we got 3 more, making it 4 boats in the Fired Up Fishing Charters fleet. I believe in keeping things streamlined. If it works, why change it? All of our boats also have a great motor as well. The Yanmar 440 horsepower. It’s a turbo engine and is lightweight making it a very efficient motor. You’ll love the ride.

These style boats are not fast boats like the center consoles, but they are smooth and easy on the back! No banging or slapping on waves, just a nice “plow” style easy ride for the family. Every year we do overhauls on them and make ’em pretty for the coming year. Another safety aspect I am very proud of is that we have EPIRBs (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon) on every boat as well as the corresponding electronics to go with it. As a first responder, safety is my goal and attention to detail is my moto.

Best Things to Do Near Port Canaveral Cruise Port

Port Canaveral is on Florida’s Space Coast, so our #1 choice is Kennedy Space Center . To see the entire complex does take approximately a full day. However, there are shorter itineraries  that will hit the high spots.

Some of the top experiences include the Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour, which gives a good overview of the complex, a guided tour of the amazing Rocket Garden, and the Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex, and Heroes & Legends, which features the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame. Brevard Veterans Memorial, Merritt Island

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Merritt Island

The refuge resulted from NASA acquiring the lands and waters of nearby Cape Canaveral to establish the Kennedy Space Center. In August 1963, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service signed an agreement establishing the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge .

The refuge provides a safe habitat for more than 1,500 species of plants and wildlife to flourish. It is a prime example of how, when properly planned and managed, nature and technology can co-exist.

Canaveral National Seashore

Running between New Smyrna Beach and Titusville Florida, Canaveral National Seashore has diverse habitats. The habitats include a barrier island, open lagoon, coastal hammock, pine flatwoods, and offshore waters. The Canaveral Seashore is also a National Park.

Two entrances provide access to the Canaveral National Seashore: Apollo Beach (New Smyrna) and Playalina Beach (Titusville). The visitor center is located near the Apollo Beach entrance to the park.

I Dream of Jeannie

When many hear “Cocoa Beach,” two things immediately pop into their heads – Cape Kennedy, now known as Cape Canaveral, Kennedy Space Center, and the long-running television show “I Dream of Jeannie.” The sitcom ran from 1965 to 1979. Boeing launches NASA astronauts for the first time after years of delays

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — Boeing launched astronauts for the first time Wednesday, belatedly joining SpaceX as a second taxi service for NASA.

A pair of NASA test pilots blasted off aboard Boeing’s Starliner capsule for the International Space Station, the first to fly the new spacecraft.

The trip by Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams was expected to take 25 hours, with an arrival Thursday. They will spend just over a week at the orbiting lab before climbing back into Starliner for a remote desert touchdown in the western U.S. on June 14.

“Let’s get going!” Wilmore called out a few minutes before liftoff.

Half an hour later, he and Williams were safely in orbit and giving chase to the space station. Back at Cape Canaveral, the relieved launch controllers stood and applauded. After all the trouble leading up to Wednesday’s launch, including two scrapped countdowns, everything went smoothly before and during liftoff, prompting congratulations from SpaceX’s Elon Musk and others.

“Today it all lined up,” said Boeing program manager Mark Nappi.

Years late because of spacecraft flaws, Starliner’s crew debut comes as the company struggles with unrelated safety issues on its airplane side.

Wilmore and Williams — retired Navy captains and former space station residents — stressed repeatedly before the launch that they had full confidence in Boeing’s ability to get it right with this test flight. Crippled by bad software, Starliner’s initial test flight in 2019 without a crew had to be repeated before NASA would let its astronauts strap in. The 2022 do-over went much better, but parachute problems later cropped up and flammable tape had to be removed from the capsule.

Wednesday’s launch was the third attempt with astronauts since early May, coming after a pair of rocket-related problems, most recently last weekend. A small helium leak in the spacecraft’s propulsion system also caused delays, but remained extremely low and manageable.

“It’s just a tough endeavor to get to flight and huge kudos to the entire team for getting there,” said Steve Stich, NASA’s commercial crew program manager.

Boeing was hired alongside Elon Musk’s SpaceX a decade ago to ferry NASA’s astronauts to and from the space station. The space agency wanted two competing U.S. companies for the job in the wake of the space shuttles’ retirement, paying $4.2 billion to Boeing and just over half that to SpaceX, which refashioned the capsule it was using to deliver station supplies.

SpaceX launched astronauts into orbit in 2020, becoming the first private business to achieve what only three countries — Russia, the U.S. and China — had mastered. It has taken nine crews to the space station for NASA and three private groups for a Houston company that charters flights.

The liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station was the 100th of an Atlas V for rocket maker United Launch Alliance. It was the first ride for astronauts on an Atlas rocket since John Glenn’s Mercury era more than 60 years ago; the rocket usually launches satellites and other spacecraft.

Despite the Atlas V’s perfect record, the human presence cranked up the tension for the scores of NASA and Boeing employees gathered at Cape Canaveral and Mission Control in Houston.

Boeing’s Starliner and SpaceX’s Dragon are designed to be fully autonomous and reusable. Wilmore and Williams occasionally will take manual control of Starliner on their way to the space station, to check out its systems. The only snag early in the flight involved the capsule’s cooling system. More water was used than expected before the radiators took over in orbit. The tank will be refilled before the ride home.

If the mission goes well, NASA will alternate between SpaceX and Boeing for taxi flights, beginning next year. The backup pilot for this test flight, Mike Fincke, will strap in for Starliner’s next trip.

“This is exciting. We built up to this moment for years and years, and it finally happened,” Fincke said from neighboring Kennedy Space Center. “I feel like the whole planet was cheering for them.”
