ABOUT ROB ZOMBIE

As a rock icon and filmmaker with a unique vision, Rob Zombie has continuously challenged audiences as he stretches the boundaries of both music and film. He has sold over 15 million albums worldwide, and is the only artist to experience unprecedented success in both music and film as the writer/director of eight feature films with a worldwide gross totaling more than $150 million. Each of Rob Zombie’s 7 solo studio albums have debuted in the top 10 on Billboard’s 200 chart, including his most recent album, The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse, in 2021. Zombie is an 8-time Grammy nominee, with his most recent nomination for Best Metal Performance at the 2022 awards. Rob Zombie’s ninth feature film, The Munsters, is set to release later this year.

ABOUT MUDVAYNE

Described by music critics as math metal and neo-progressive rock, Mudvayne’s sonic musical experimentation is difficult to classify. Chad Gray, Greg Tribbett, Ryan Martinie and Matthew McDonough formed Mudvayne in the late 90’s in Peoria, IL.  Their debut album L.D. 50 was released in 2000, with highlights “Dig” and “Death Bloom” achieving success at mainstream rock radio. Their sophomore album, The End of All Things to Come was a critical and commercial success. Mudvayne then released Lost and Found in 2005, achieving their second consecutive Gold record, with the single “Happy?” finishing #1 on the US Mainstream Rock Chart. To date the band has sold over six million records worldwide, including 2008’s The New Game and 2009’s Mudvayne. In 2010, the band went on hiatus, only to triumphantly return in 2021 with co-headline performances at three of the US’ premiere rock festivals- Inkarcertaion Festival, Welcome to Rockville, and Aftershock.  This will be the bands first national tour since 2009.

Mudvayne Live 2021 Steve Thrasher, Steve Thrasher

The reunion continues! Last year, Mudvayne reassembled to play their first shows in over 10 years. COVID derailed some of their plans, but the nu-metal veterans forged ahead despite the speed bumps — and, it turns out, they're "so fucking determined" to keep on keeping on. To that end, the band — singer Chad Gray, guitarist Greg Tribbett, bassist Ryan Martinie and drummer Matthew McDonough — have announced shows this summer at Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin. More dates to come? We hope so.

Upheaval is set for July 15th-16th — Mudvayne are slotted to play the kickoff date — and will feature Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Hatebreed, Avatar and more. Rock Fest, meanwhile, is scheduled for July 14th-16th, with Mudvayne lined up for the closing night; other performers include Disturbed, Evanescence, Lamb of God, Halestorm and Spiritbox.

Each of Rob Zombie’s seven solo studio albums have debuted in the top 10 on Billboard’s 200 chart, including his most recent album, The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse , in 2021. Zombie is an 8x Grammy nominee, with his most recent nomination for Best Metal Performance at the 2022 awards. Zombie’s ninth feature film, The Munsters , is set to release later this year.

Mudvayne’s sonic musical experimentation is difficult to classify. Mudvayne then released Lost and Found in 2005, achieving their second consecutive Gold record, with the single “Happy?” finishing No. 1 on the US Mainstream Rock Chart. To date the band has sold over six million records worldwide, including 2008’s The New Game and 2009’s self-titled effort. In 2010, the band went on hiatus, only to triumphantly return in 2021 with co-headline performances at three of the US’ premiere rock festivals- Inkarcertaion Festival, Welcome to Rockville, and Aftershock. This will be the bands first national tour since 2009.

Mudvayne Plotting First New Album in More Than a Decade

Chad Gray of Mudvayne – Story by Charles Ken, photo by Anne Erickson

Mudvayne have plans to release new music, their first since 2010, says vocalist Chad Gray

Mudvayne recently reunited for a collection of festival appearances, and now, there’s apparently new music on the way. The news comes from a recent appearance by lead vocalist Chad Gray on Avenged Sevenfold bassist Johnny Christ’s show, “Drinks With Johnny.”

As the conversation came to an end, Gray began discussing new music. In the process, he stated that he thinks Mudvayne will start writing new tunes soon, which could make up an entire new album of music. Of course, the big difference is that drummer Vinnie Paul won’t be on the new music, as Paul sadly passed away in 2018. Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga has stepped in on drums since Paul’s passing. View the full video interview between Gray and Christ at the end of the story.

“Mudvayne is hopefully going to be working on some new s*** soon,” Gray said during the chat. Avenged Sevenfold has new music on the way, too, and Gray added that he’s stoked to hear the new stuff. The two implied a possible tour, or at least some shows, together, too.

“I can’t wait to definitely get our heads together,” Gray added. “Maybe we could do some touring or something someday.”

Mudvayne reunited last year following a breakup in 2010. They performed their first reunion show back together at Ohio’s Inkcarceration festival. The upcoming album will mark Mudvayne’s follow-up to their 2009 self-titled release.

My Chemical Romance Cancel Russia, Ukraine Shows

  • By Tomás Mier

My Chemical Romance will no longer visit Russia and Ukraine on the European leg of their reunion tour this June, due to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

“With deep regret, My Chemical Romance is cancelling our Ukraine and Russia shows in June, 2022,” the band tweeted. “We hope to be able to play for the fans there soon.”

With deep regret, My Chemical Romance is cancelling our Ukraine and Russia shows in June, 2022.  We hope to be able to play for the fans there soon. — My Chemical Romance (@MCRofficial) March 7, 2022

The emo-punk band was scheduled to perform in Saint Petersburg on June 16, before headlining a night at Moscow’s Park Live Festival the following day, with Sum 41 as openers. The band was also set to headline Kyiv’s U Park Festival on June 19; the lineup also features Slipknot, Gorillaz, and Deftones.

MCR’s cancellations are part of a rising tide of called off shows as the Russian invasion continues. Louis Tomlinson canceled his July stops  in Kyiv and Moscow due to “this needless war.” Green Day also canceled a scheduled show in Moscow, saying, “We are aware that this moment is not about stadium rock shows, it’s so much bigger than that. But we also know that rock and roll is forever and we feel confident there will be a time and a place for us to return in the future.”

Individual touring acts including Yungblud and Franz Ferdinand have also canceled upcoming gigs in Russia and Ukraine. Additionally, Live Nation, the largest concert promoter in the world, announced it was ceasing business in Russia.

My Chemical Romance will launch their long-awaited reunion tour this May with a U.K./European run that will continue through June. The band’s North American leg will kick off Aug. 29 in Philadelphia and wrap with four shows at the Forum in Los Angeles, Oct. 11, 12, 14, and 15.
