Stick Figure Brings WISDOM Tour To The Theater At Virgin Hotels, June 8

Stick Figure will bring their signature musicality and latest tour to Las Vegas to perform hits from their latest album, Wisdom.

This summer, wildly popular reggae band, Stick Figure, will make their venue debut at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, part of Curio Collection by Hilton, on Thursday, June 8, 2023 with special appearances by Pepper and The Elovaters. Stick Figure will bring their signature musicality and latest tour to Las Vegas to perform hits from their latest album, Wisdom. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023 at 10 a.m. PST.

Redefining American reggae music, Wisdom, is the group's seventh album that features cavernous grooves, sparkling electronic orchestration and thick rhythms. Each of the 14 tracks pay homage to Stick Figure's roots-dub reggae foundation while pushing the genre's boundaries and exploring what's possible. The release of Wisdom signifies a new era of accessibility for reggae music, without sacrificing authenticity with notable hits like "Way of Life" and "Paradise."

As with his previous releases, Wisdom was written, produced and recorded by Scott Woodruff, a self-taught musician, at Stick Figure-owned Great Stone Studios in Oakland, CA, former home of Green Day.

Wisdom is Stick Figure's seventh album and follows the unprecedented success of 2019's World on Fire, which peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Top 200, #6 overall Top albums, #1 Independent, and #1 Reggae album. World on Fire has sold over 300,000 copies including streaming equivalents, according to Nielsen soundscan data. Stick Figure's catalog has now sold well over one million copies and been streamed over three billion times. On the live side, Stick Figure averaged over 4,200 tickets sold per show on an almost entirely sold out 2022 tour, according to Pollstar, and is slated to play major multi-genre festivals in 2023 after headlining the top reggae festivals in 2022.

These numbers would be impressive by any metric, yet Stick Figure has achieved this rarified air completely independently, with no label or outside producers. An intuitive and accomplished producer, Woodruff crafts authentic artistry from the foundation of roots-dub reggae, featuring cavernous grooves, sparkling electronic orchestration, and thick rhythms. With a soundscape that is as much Kygo or Tame Impala as it is Bob Marley or Sublime, his music has evolved throughout time while staying true to his Signature Sound . Wisdom is undoubtedly Stick Figure's best production to date, and the attention to detail throughout the album's 14 tracks create a top-notch sonic experience that is tailor made for a beach party and also perfectly suited for a solitary hike through the woods. Inside the historic studio, Stick Figure band member Johnny Cosmic, an accomplished producer in his own right, teams up with Woodruff to mix each track. When completed, a brotherhood of hard-jamming musicians delivers this widescreen soundtrack in concert performances of consciousness-altering celebration. The evolution of the artist most often portrayed as a one-man band has its genesis in Duxbury, Massachusetts. From his debut, The Sound of My Addiction, Scott's handcrafted music connected with a community of avid listeners who discovered him exclusively by word of mouth and social media. Selling tens of thousands of copies of each of his self-produced releases allowed him to travel the world in pursuit of experience. Scott moved to San Diego, CA where his recording career continued to blossom. As recently as 2012, he was putting up his own posters for Burial Ground at the California Roots Festival. In 2019, Stick Figure was commanding center stage as the headliner for the massive event. In 2022 Stick Figure is still embracing the DIY work ethic, while selling out amphitheaters and having his music played more than any other living reggae artist in the world.

Preceding Wisdom, Stick Figure released seven albums, all recorded solo, with Woodruff laying down the tracks one by one. The current live band line-up features Kevin Bong (KBong) on keyboards, Kevin Offitzer on drums, bassist Tommy Suliman, John Gray (Johnny Cosmic) on guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals, and Will Phillips on percussion, with Scott upfront on guitar and vocals. Bong, Offitzer and Suliman have been with the band for ten years and the camaraderie on stage is infectious. Stick Figure concerts are gatherings distinguished by audience sing-alongs, hard hitting bass, extended improvisational interludes, the mind-manifesting hues of a light show, and the much-anticipated entrance of the band's canine mascot, a rescued Australian Shepherd named Cocoa The Tour Dog. Cocoa has her own 501(c)3 charity and is the only dog to ever receive a trophy for her role in selling out the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in one day. The show becomes a family gathering that spans across age and demographic, all coming together for good vibes and music. The reggae and dub band will embark on a lengthy tour this summer featuring support from Pepper and The Elovaters. A dozen the Wisdom Summer Tour dates have been confirmed for the run that takes its name from Stick Figure’s 2022 studio album with the promise of more to come. An appearance at Cali Roots 2023 in Monterey, California on May 27 is up first before the group starts their tour in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 3. There’s no denying the band’s imminent rise heightened by sold-out tours. In fact, Stick Figure averages over 4,200 tickets sold per show on almost every tour. Stick Figure’s new album “Wisdom” debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, knocking out Bob Marley & The Wailers of the top spot. Marley had previously held the No. 1 spot for 140 consecutive weeks. “Wisdom” was written, produced and recorded by Scott Woodruff, a self-taught musician, at Stick Figure-owned Great Stone Studios in Oakland, CA, former home of Green Day. The album includes 14 full-length tracks, including features from Slightly Stoopid, Barrington Levy, and Collie Buddz.

Stick Figure’s Wisdom Tour monsoons over Florida

The Wisdom Tour hit Florida with a wave of talent, featuring power trifecta Stick Figure, Pepper, and The Elovaters in one spectacular night! Walking into the amphitheater, everyone was vibing like if Woodstock had a baby… if that gives you a visual, we were rocking it out reggae-style! You could feel the buzz in the air and the stage was set for one of the biggest headliners, of course, Stick Figure . I call them the “Unicorn “of all bands — a band that has reached such depths from songs that strike the chords of all humans.

Scott Woodruff is lyrically and musically gifted; a shallow soul cannot write with such depth. 

I started listening to him four years ago before COVID and everything else under the sun hit. It was perfect timing for me to have Stick Figure in my back pocket! Between Scott’s and his touring members’ energy (and Cocoa, his sweet dog), I am beyond smitten by Stick’s presence. His live performance is nothing short of euphoric. The Wisdom Tour honors their seventh album although the live show stretches Stick’s entire catalog, streamed over three billion times and over one million copies sold.

Getting back to the show, thousands of spectators at Apopka Amphitheater packed it to see Stick Figure, The Elovaters, and Pepper.

I would say this is one of the top tours the summer! No a chance I’d miss it!

The boys from Boston, The Elovaters , thrilled the crowd with such an upbeat vibe, performing songs from different albums and pleasing us with “Shots Fired”! Such a fantastic performance, as always; Jackson Wetherbee and the boys encapsulated their musical powers! 

Storm clouds came swarming upon us looking like a monsoon all of a sudden, evacuating the entire venue. Yet the rain was a relief, as people were passing out from the intense heat! In the interim, we camped out in our automobiles. I stayed with my fellow Cocoa Beach crew in their SUV — what a blast! Love those guys!

The venue opened the gates again over an hour later and it was back to business!

Pepper stormed the stage after the rain cleared, electrifying the entire arena. These guys hold nothing back… truly OG vibes! They hyped back up the crowd with all their hits, including “Stone Love” and “Warning” (my personal favorites)! 

When Stick Figure was about to hit the stage, you could feel the anticipation building (along with the threshold of the Florida heat, which will kick your ass)! The light show for Stick Figure was calming, with sounds transcending into your spirit; this is the kind of show that is soul-cleansing. If you’re not feeling me here, then go see them live. Maybe then you can experience it for yourself! I saw Stick Figure last year and I can still say Scott and his boys have the best live performance every time! 

Stick Figure kicked off with a rendition of Pink Floyd “Have A Cigar”.

Let me say they did Pink Floyd justice — it was beautiful. We were all blown away by this, before “Choice Is Yours” followed.  Scott Woodruff drew in the masses with his angelic voice and the pure energy backed by the group was more of a religious experience. More tracks performed were “Weight of Sound”, “Way of Life”, “Paradise”, “All For You”, and so many more! Literally, Stick Figure went above and beyond for the fans. Stick ended up overextending the set time, making it up to fans who had to wait it out in the rain and trudge back into the venue. This is clear devotion, making his music all the more infinite. 

No matter the chaos that ensued at the venue (with the extreme Florida heat, fans dropping like flies, and the angry monsoon that struck), it was the greatest experience! All the bands killed it and I will be back for more! My addiction and passion for music goes beyond anything else. The tour is still happening, so get your asses there. This is a lifetime experience waiting to be fulfilled.

Stick Figure started as a one-person project by Scott Woodruff and entered the reggae music world with his first album called "The Sound of My Addiction." After that, when he put out "Burnin' Ocean," it climbed into the list of Top 10 Best Reggae Albums for the year 2008. Following albums such as "Burial Ground" demonstrated a mix of reggae and dub, showing how their music style had changed. With increasing fame, Woodruff formed a band for tours, which resulted in several albums receiving awards and nominations, including the Artist of the Year in the 2022 Symphonic Awards and a nomination for Grammy Awards for their album “Wisdom.” Now, Stick Figure is coming back to live stages, mixing rock and reggae together again for a new summer tour that will make you go crazy with their infectious musicality.

Stick Figure will bring iconic artists, including SOJA and Little Stranger, for a more electrifying concert experience. Known for their traditional roots and rock-infused reggae music, SOJA will put you to positive vibes with their chart-topping tracks, including "True Love," "Here I Am," and more. Adding to the hip-hop madness is the stellar duo Little Stranger, which will showcase unique and melodic musicality on live stages with their songs "Me & You," "All Her Favorite Songs," and many more.
