Right when the performance appears to be over, Beyoncé counts to four and brings out two guitarists, who jam out with her, foreshadowing the rock side she unleashed 8 years later on Lemonade .

Heather Morris is an American actress , dancer, and tattooist. She rose to fame after appearing as Brittany S. Pierce on the Fox musical-drama series Glee. Her first significant appearance was on So You Think You Can Dance where she made it through Vegas Week without being cut. However, she failed to make the final 20 by a vote of 3 to 2.

Additionally, She proceeded with a dancing career where her big break came in 2007 via Beyoncé. She was among Beyoncé’s backup dancers on the Beyoncé Experience world tour and later worked with her on a mini Single Ladies promotional tour. In 2008, Morris made performances on the American Music Awards, Saturday Night Live, Total Request Live, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and Today.

Moreover, she danced backup in 2008 for Beyoncé and Tina Turner at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. Later, she was given a small role in the movie Fired Up where she met choreographer, Zach Wood lee. Dancing With the Stars's Heather Morris Was Once a Backup Dancer For Beyoncé

Dancing With the Stars season 24 premieres on Monday, and the competition is already looking fierce . Not only is there an Olympic athlete and a Fifth Harmony member up for the mirror ball trophy, but there is also a professional dancer. Heather Morris is well-known for her role as cheerleader Brittany Pierce on Glee , but she was also once a backup dancer for Beyoncé! The star got her big break when she joined the singer for The Beyoncé Experience world tour in 2007. She even danced alongside Blue Ivy's mom for several performances of "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" that following year, including one at the American Music Awards.

While some fans think this gives her an unfair edge in the competition , the show's executive producer, Ashley Edens, begs to differ. While she argues that Heather definitely has an "advantage," it isn't "unfair" because she has never done ballroom dancing before. "She's never partner danced," she told The Hollywood Reporter . "That is a skill in and of itself. Does she know how to count music and have rhythm? Yes. But the expectation because she's a dancer is going to be very different." That being said, we're still secretly hoping she'll whip out her signature Beyoncé moves for the competition.

Perhaps her biggest break came in 2009, when she joined the Fox series Glee. Heather Elizabeth Morris was born on Feb. 1, 1987 in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks and was raised in Scottsdale, AZ. The future star was introduced to the world of dance when she was only a year old, making her onscreen debut on the second season of the Fox reality competition series, "So You Think You Can Dance" (Fox, 2005- ). Morris failed to qualify in the Top 20, but did pursue her love of dance by moving to L.A. After several auditions, Morris landed a spot as a backup dancer on "The Beyoncé Experience" tour in 2007, followed by a whirlwind promotional tour with the pop star, including performances on "The Today Show" (NBC, 1952- ) and "Saturday Night Live" (NBC, 1975- ). During the prominent media appearances, Morris joined Beyoncé on the "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" dance number, inspired by the choreography of Bob Fosse.

Morris met choreographer Zach Woodlee while working on the comedy feature "Fired Up!" where she had a small role. Woodlee took Morris under his wing and helped her get cast as a background dancer in episodes of the short-lived series "Eli Stone" (ABC, 2008-09) and "Swingtown" (CBS, 2008). In 2009, Woodlee began choreographing for the award-winning Fox series "Glee," which focused on a group of teenage outsiders who come together to sing and dance in their high school's glee club. Woodlee brought Morris to the set to teach the cast the "Single Ladies" dance routine for an episode, and she ended up landing a supporting role as the ditzy cheerleader Brittany.

Even though her character was originally introduced as a villain who infiltrated the glee club, Morris' deadpan delivery of one-liners, including the memorable quotes "Dolphins are just gay sharks" and "When I pulled my hamstring, I went to a misogynist," boosted her popularity with "Glee" viewers. Morris delivered even more laughs as well as her sassy dance moves during the successful "Glee Live!" concert tour in 2010, which featured the cast performing the show's musical numbers and skits. That same year, Fox announced Morris and fellow cast member Naya Rivera, who played Brittany's partner-in-crime Santana, would be promoted to series regulars on the second season of "Glee." Fans were also delighted to hear that the show had a Brittany-centric episode that featured the songs of pop princess Britney Spears.

At the time, the show happened to looking for a third cheerleader to complete its ‘Unholy Trinity’, the nickname given to the trio of characters Santana, Quinn and Britney. Morris impressed so much as a dance teacher that she was ultimately cast as Britney, known as the best female dancer in the glee club.

In 2010, Morris was named the Celebrity Style Ambassador for FLIRT! Cosmetics, an Estee Lauder beauty line. The following year, she ranked number 2 on the Hot 100 list of lesbian and bisexual pop culture site AfterEllen. Top of the list was Naya Rivera, Morris’ off-screen best friend and on-screen girlfriend, Santana. The pair became beloved in the LGBTQ+ community for their portrayal as out lesbians on primetime TV.
