One infant aged 0-2 travels free when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket. Additional infants aged 0-2 must be paid for. If you are travelling with more than 1 infant aged 0-2, please book the additional infant as 'Children (3-15).

Our passenger descriptions are designed to help you choose the right ticket for yourself or your fellow travellers.

Adult (16+) and Children (3-15)

Children under 14 cannot travel alone unless accompanied by an adult (16+). Please note, you may be required to show proof of age at any point during your journey. Failure to do so, may result in the full adult fare being charged.

Should be booked as Children. If they are travelling in a wheelchair or require assistance, please call our Assisted Travel Helpline.

We strongly recommend that you bring a car seat appropriate to your child's age, but ask you to take responsibility to fit the seat.

Booster Seats

Children aged between approximately 4-11 years old, or up to 150cm tall, may use booster seats. We carry a limited number onboard most coaches.

If travelling with a child, you may be required to show proof of age when buying tickets or at any point during your journey. Failure to do so may result in the child being required to pay the full fare for the journey on that day.

Senior (60 and over)

Passengers aged 60 and over are entitled to receive a small discount on European journeys. On European journeys a 50% discount is given to carers, please call us on 08717 818177 to book.

We have three different Coachcards available, each offering savings of 1/3 on all of our Standard and Fully Flexible coach fares all year round.

Boarding Points for Day Excursions

You can board your Johnsons Day Excursion from 40  local boarding points including Sutton Coldfield, Pype Hayes and Castle Bromwich in the north; Coventry, Warwick and Leamington in the east; Alvechurch and Barnt Green in the west; Evesham, Stratford-upon-Avon, Wellesbourne and Shipston-on-Stour in the south; and Birmingham and Solihull in the middle. Or you can park for free at our yard in Henley-in-Arden to join your day trip.

We provide full details and times for each Day Excursion so that you can clearly see what is included and how the Excursion has been designed to run. Reserved seating is provided on all day trips. Just choose your seat when you book – we find most people generally like to be near the front, so the earlier you book the better choice of seats you have.

What you can expect on board

Our wonderful fleet of coaches offer a luxury travelling experience with onboard entertainment and spacious seating. With air conditioning for the warmer months and heating to keep you toasty in the winter, we aim to provide total comfort for all our passengers whatever the season. Our large coaches are all fitted with toilets and seatbelts for our customer safety and convenience when on board. We have only run our services with our own high specification vehicles including minibuses to seat 6, right up to luxury charter coaches for 63 passengers.

Each of our coaches is driven and managed by one of our uniformed drivers. All of our drivers are enrolled in continuous training so you may rest assured that you are in the safest and most capable hands for your day trip by coach.

BLUE BADGE GUIDED TOUR This trip includes visits to Southwold and Aldeburgh with a fish & chip lunch at the famous Flora Tea Rooms on Dunwich beach

We start our  Blue Badge Tour in Woodbridge, just above Ipswich, to buy morning coffee.

In Aldeburgh the Moot Hall, once in the centre of the town, now teeters on the water’s edge.   We see where the fishermen still sell their catch on the beach and marvel at the controversial Maggi Hambling scallop sculpture.

We then drive on to Dunwich for lunch.   The town has already been claimed by the sea but the brilliant Flora Tea Rooms survives on the beach.   In addition to a choice of fish served with chips there’s a slice of bread plus a dessert and a cup of tea or coffee, all included in the tour fee.

In the afternoon we continue along the coast.   Thorpeness is an eccentric puzzle of mock Tudor houses and the quirky “House in the Clouds”.

In the elegant little Edwardian resort town of Southwold old cottages of great charm cluster around the gleaming white lighthouse and candy coloured beach huts line the shore.

Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied Castle in the world.

The State apartments are open when the castle is open, with a few exceptions throughout the year when official state events are taking place.

In the state apartments you can explore ceremonial rooms that are still used today by The King and members of the Royal Family and you can discover rooms that were built for Charles II and his Queen, Catherine of Braganza.

St Georges chapel is also open to visitors on a Saturday.

We aim to arrive in Windsor roughly 10.30am and have an entry time into the castle of 1130am.

We will also visit St Georges Chapel where Queen Elizabeth II has recently been interred with her husband Prince Phillip.

You will then have free time to do as you please – if you are going for a meal, it might be an idea to pre book as it does get very busy before your coach will pick you up again at 6pm.

Spalding Flower Parade

Once upon a time, Spalding was known worldwide for its annual flower parade but sadly, due to lack of funding and support, it ceased to exist almost ten years ago

Well, the good news is, it’s back for 2024 and showing that Spalding still has community spirit.

The market town of Spalding was once famous across the globe for its annual Tulip Parade.   Each year since the 1950’s the parade was the annual highlight and it drew crowds from all over the UK and beyond.   Sadly, as the tulip industry fell into decline, so did the parade.   Well, the good news is, it’s back and promises to be bigger than ever for 2024.

We will arrive in Spalding in time for the parade with decorated floats and trailers, marching bands, dancers and much more.

Join us for an afternoon with Elvis!   From the tear jerking ballads to the dance floor filling rock and roll this is Elvis the King.   Close your eyes and this could be Elvis.

We will arrive onboard the Tereza Joanne from 11.30am for Noon and you’ll be dancing back to the coach to depart at 3.30pm ahead of the rush hour.

Day Out in Norfolk Including Paddleboat Cruise on The Broads

Location: norfolk broads, price: £35 per person (price includes coach travel and river cruise).

The Southern Comfort is a double deck paddle boat purpose buit for the Broads with a capacity of 100 passengers for public trips.

The boat is a luxury river cruiser which runs regular trips from the beautiful village of Horning – along the River Bure through the village and out to Ranworth Broad and back, passing lovely old thatched houses, windmills and Norfolk reed beds.  Throughout the trip there is an excellent commentary and continued pointing out of all the water birds around at the time.

We will arrive in Wroxham for 11am where you will have time to have lunch (not included),  so do please book in advance – there are loads of shops to have a wander round too including the famous ROYS OF WROXHAM!

We will get back onboard the coach at 2.15pm for the short drive to Horning for our boat ride on the Broads – we are booked onto the 3pm sailing and it takes 90 minutes – once we alight we will have an hour to get a coffee in the delightful village of Horning before we board our coach at 5.30 for our ride home.

When London’s churchyards filled up, just as a young Queen Victoria came to the throne, a scheme was launched to build The Magnificent Seven – huge, modern cemeteries in a ring around the City.

As soon as it opened in 1839 Highgate Cemetery in the Northern hills became THE place to be buried if you were rich or famous.    Highgate would become one of the greatest cemeteries in the world full of eccentric funerary architecture.   In the heart of the grounds the Egyptian Avenue leads to the Circle of Lebanon created by earth being excavated around an ancient Cedar of Lebanon.

The cemetery fell into ruin for many years until in the 1970s The Friend of Highgate Cemetery was formed to buy the freehold – today the tours are run to raise money to look after it.

Nature has gradually taken over and this remarkable site is now also an important wild-life reserve.

Come and meet London’s famous dead in this Victorian Valhalla.

At 12 Noon, we Arrive in Hampstead for Fish & Chips lunch with dessert (cheesecake) and tea/coffee.  The  restaurant is on the ground floor and can cater for gluten free and other dietary requirements when pre-ordered.   At 2.00pm we commence our Guided tour of the West Cemetery (the extraordinary side with all the gothic tombs), which lasts around 70 minutes.   Paths are steep and sometimes muddy and there are two flights of stairs so please be aware of this and wear appropriate footwear.   Following there is time for a self-guided visit to the East Cemetery (where Karl Marx is).   This is on a gentler slope with tarmac paths and is more easily accessible.

The Romney Marsh is a mysterious region of Kent, rich in history and legend.

We will meet our Blue Badge Tour Guide just off the M20 at Ashford at 10.30am for morning refreshments (Not included) before driving out onto the remote Romney Marshes.

Marshmen established a wild reputation with smuggling and felonious deeds rife in a world where men drank beer a full century before the rest of the country and evacuated their sheep before their women during the war!   The bleak, timeless character of the marsh made it popular with artists and writers including Noël Coward and Ian Fleming who found inspiration from marsh place names like Moneypenny  Farm. We will stop and visit one of the mediaeval churches that pepper the marsh.

Buckingham Palace State Rooms and The Royal Mews

Since the 19th century, the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace has been home to the royal collection of coaches and carriages.

It has played an important role in many memorable State and ceremonial occasions, such as His Majesty’s Coronation, Royal Weddings and the Trooping of the Colour.

Today the Royal Mews provides a unique opportunity for visitors to see the work of the Royal Household department that provides road transport for The King and members of the Royal Family by both horse-drawn carriage and car.

The Mews is also home to the Windsor Greys and Cleveland Bays, these are the horses that pull the royal carriages, each named personally by His Majesty.

Undoubtedly the most dazzling vehicle at the Royal Mews is the Gold State Coach, which was built for George III in 1762.   As its name suggests, the surface of the coach is covered almost entirely in real gold leaf.   It weighs almost four tonnes, requires eight horses to pull it, and has carried every monarch to their coronation since 1821.

The State Rooms at the heart of Buckingham Palace provide the setting for ceremonial occasions and official entertaining and is where The King welcomes guests from all walks of life.

Brunel’s SS Great Britain is one of the most important historic ships in the world.   When she was launched in 1843, she was called ‘the greatest experiment since the creation’.   No one had ever designed so vast a ship, nor had the vision to build it of iron.   Brunel fitted her with a 1000 hp steam engine, the most powerful yet used at sea.   Perhaps most daring of all, Brunel rejected using conventional paddle wheels to drive his ship.   Instead, he gave the SS Great Britain a screw propeller.   This was the newest invention in maritime technology.   By seeing how to combine these key innovations, Brunel created a ship that changed history.

On 7 April 1970, a team of expert divers managed to re-float the SS Great Britain, after spending days plugging holes in the ship’s hull and pumping out water.   It took two more weeks, working in terrible weather conditions, for the salvage team to secure the ship on to a huge floating pontoon.   Finally, on the 24th of April, the ship began her 87 day voyage back to Bristol across the Atlantic Ocean.   The 8,000-mile journey to Avonmouth was the longest ever under tow, and the re-floating and return to Bristol beneath the Clifton Suspension Bridge was watched by crowds of spectators and millions on television.

Sandringham Flower Show

One of the most prestigious horticultural events in the East of England.

Now in its 139th year, it is much more than just a Flower Show.   It is a unique event offering not only the best in horticulture but also an excellent day out, filled with family entertainment.

Set in the magnificent surroundings of Sandringham Park with Sandringham House and Sandringham Church as a backdrop for this one-day.   From the beginning the Show has been privileged to enjoy Royal patronage and traditionally the Royal Patron attends the Show.   Many of the region’s leading nurseries and horticultural specialists exhibit.   In addition to these displays the show features display gardens by leading designers, around 200 trade stands (both horticultural and general), a craft marquee, main arena events, children’s entertainment and a military band.   The Royal marquees contain the competitions in vegetables, fruit, flowers and floral art, with the entries grown by local residents; there are also some open classes which anyone may enter.   In the amateurs’ marquee, local gardening and horticultural clubs enter a judged display competition, whilst the Horticultural Trades marquee features displays by leading nurseries.

Bristol Hot Air Balloon Fiesta

This iconic event has been a steadfast in the UK’s event calendar for more than four decades.    With the city of Bristol playing the best matched host as the birthplace of ballooning in Europe, and now the capital of the sport worldwide.

With mass ascents of over 100 hot air balloons scheduled, visitors have the chance to see the compact central arena awash with a rainbow of colour at dusk (approx. 6pm) to mark the closing of the day before the start of evening celebrations.   During the day, a programme of entertainment, traders, exhibitors, caterers, and activities allow visitors to experience the magic of ballooning and this unique day out even when the weather prevents them from taking flight.

At the bottom of the cobblestoned Gangway is the Henry Blogg Museum, named after the town’s most distinguished lifeboatman, who won the George Cross and the British Empire Medal.   Nearby you’ll see on the shingle the fishing boats that go out every day to catch the famous  Cromer Crab.    The reason these little brown crabs are so tasty, meaty and succulent?   It’s because they feed on the chalk reef just offshore, the longest in the world.

Thursford Collection – Steam Back In Time

This morning we visit Thursford, the world’s largest collection of steam engines and organs, hear Robert Wolfe one of the world’s leading Theatre organists play the mighty Wurlitzer, ride on fairground carousels and the gondola and watch silent movies (Rides are not included in the admission price).

The Mighty Wurlitzer is the centrepiece of the Collection!   There is a half hour show with the resident organist, Robert Wolfe, performing each day during the Summer Season at 12.30pm.   In the days of silent movies, when there was no soundtrack on film, the atmosphere was created “on the spot” by the pianist improvising a mosaic of mood music.   In due course the pianist was replaced by the more chic, up market cinema organist, and the cinema organ par excellence was undoubtedly the Mighty Wurlitzer.

At 1.45pm we rejoin your coach for the drive to the town of Holt and the North Norfolk Railway. Our coach will travel to the hotel in Liverpool.   You will have free time in Liverpool and our hosts have arranged a get-together at 6pm to enable you to meet and get to know your fellow guests.

At 11am our coach will take you to the Casbah Coffee club.   The Casbah and its owner, Mona Best, brought about many pivotal moments in the early days of The Beatles, shaping their beginnings and providing a home for the distinctive Merseybeat sound which would change the face of popular music forever.   The Casbah knew the savage young Beatles before Epstein: their first live performances were here, in the club they made their own, even being involved in decorating the basement in its distinctive style.

Today we visit the Liverpool Beatles Museum , which houses one of the largest Beatles collections in the world, featuring over 1,000 items.  A visit to the museum is a journey through the early days in Liverpool and Hamburg

Our coach will depart from the hotel at 11am to take you on a three hour Beatles Tour with a knowledgable local guide.  You will be taken to the boys home where they grew up, the pub where Ringo’s mum used to work, their schools, the graveyard where a certain song got its name and much more.

After a leisurely breakfast, we will leave the hotel at 11am and drive to Strawberry Field – a former Salvation Army Children’s home.  When John was a child, his Aunt Mimi’s house backed on to here and he used to climb the fence and queue up with the orphans for dinner.  We have a light lunch booked before we enter the museum where you can immerse yourself in the life and times of John Lennon, before we start your drive home.

Prepare to be surrounded by the magic and wonder of the Christmas season!  As you and your family take in the festive decorations at THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride station, you can almost hear the faint sound of sleigh bells in the distance and the fun begins.

THE POLAR EXPRESS™ is waiting for you at the platform. Wait for the train Conductor to invite you and the other passengers to climb aboard, shouting “All aboooooard!”.   Anticipation builds as you step onto the Train to be escorted to your seat by the Chefs from the film.   Before long, scenes from the film come to life as dancing Chefs and Waiters arrive to serve cookies and hot chocolate.   The children are invited to engage these exciting characters who are eager to hear from the youngsters about what makes the Christmas season special to them.   While the hot chocolate lingers in your mouth and warms your tummy, you will listen as the story of The Polar Express is told in its entirety.   Chefs show pages from the beautifully illustrated book for the whole carriage to follow.   A smile grows on your face as you watch your child become absorbed in the wonderment of the story.

As your adventure continues, you notice other key elements of the story — both inside and outside your train — springing to life.   Watch and listen as another scene unfolds on-board before your eyes.

Upon arrival at the North Pole, keep your eyes peeled for Santa’s sleigh, a bag of toys and a giant Christmas tree. Watch out for Santa waving and, when the train stops, listen out for the carriage door to slam as Santa gets on board. After the train departs the North Pole for the return voyage home, you soon notice that the adventure isn’t over. Santa appears in your midst to present each passenger with their very own “First Gift of Christmas”, a silver bell from his sleigh.

Thinking back to the story, you might like to remind the children to check their pockets for holes!

Chefs on board lead the passengers in singing favourite Christmas Carols as the train heads back to Dereham Station.   Here passengers depart the train and make their way to the great gift shop with a range of gifts from toys, to Exclusive Polar Express Merchandise.

We encourage our guests, young and old to wear pyjamas just as in the Film.   Children love it and if you can persuade our older guests, Mums, Dads, Granny and Grandpa to also join in, the atmosphere in the train comes alive for a truly magical experience!

Isle of Wight Steam Railway

Havenstreet station is the heart of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. This quaint station has been carefully restored to reflect a 1940s British Railways (Southern) style station.

You will meet the friendly platform staff, who are dressed in traditional uniforms.  As you experience the wonder of steam, the train pulls away from the station taking you on the 10 mile round trip through unspoilt Island countryside.

Any requests for specific seating arrangements will be considered but may not always be possible. Toilets : There can be no guarantee made to the customer that the coach that they will travel on will have a toilet facility on board. The allocation of coaches may be subject to change and cannot be guaranteed at the time of booking. Mobility Scooters/ Wheelchairs: Due to insurance and Health and Safety implications we are no longer able to carry full-sized or large mobility scooters. However, we are still able to carry small scooters (i.e. that are easily lifted and would ft into a car boot) and / or folding wheelchairs. The company cannot accept the responsibility for any damage or loss of these items when being loaded, unloaded or carried to the coach. Excursion Cancellation: Station Coaches reserve the right to cancel any excursion due to a minimum passenger number requirement not being reached or any other unforeseen circumstance. Passengers will be contacted and advised either by telephone or email, in advance where possible, should any situation arise. Full refunds or transfers to another excursion are possible should any of the above occur. Any cancellations, by the customer, for an excursion will be considered on a case by case basis, and it will be down to the company’s discretion as to whether a refund or transfer to another trip is given. Health, Safety and Hygiene Conditions of Travel For the health and safety of all our passengers, please note the following: Seat Belts: It is a condition of travel that when passengers are seated, and the coach is in motion, they must wear the seat belt that is provided. Failure to do so can result in serious injury to yourself and others should an accident occur. Your driver will advise you of this requirement at the start of the journey. Children: The parent/ guardian/ supervisor are/is responsible for their children’s behaviour and actions. Health and safety conditions must be adhered to at all times and it is the responsibility of the parent/ guardian/ supervisor to ensure that each child is well behaved and complies with the listed conditions. Emergency Doors: There are access and emergency doors at the front, middle and rear of all of our coaches. The driver will advise you of the emergency procedures via a commentary over the microphone before the journey commences. Smoking : For the health, safety and comfort of all of our passengers, including the driver, smoking is not permitted on any of our vehicles at any time. This also includes the use of E-cigarettes and other alternatives. Hygiene: For the health, safety, comfort and wellbeing of our passengers, our coaches are presented in a clean and hygienic condition. At the end of the coach journey, we ask that you ensure that this is how you leave the bus; placing any discarded papers, packaging and items in the provided bin liners or taking them off the coach with you. Food: Pre-prepared sandwiches and hot drinks flasks may be used on the coach. However, fast food items, fish and chips, ice-creams and other such items are not permitted. Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages such as beers, wines and spirits are not permitted to be consumed on any of the coaches. Any passenger arriving in an alcoholic state may be refused permission to travel at the discretion of the driver, with no re-dress. Damage and Vandalism: Any damage or vandalism to any part of the coach will result in legal action against the culprit/ person responsible. Again, any such offence will result in the offender being asked to leave the vehicle at the discretion of the driver, with no re-dress. Courtesy: Drivers will be courteous and sympathetic to all clients. Verbal and/or physical abuse, disruption, rowdiness and misbehaviour that may affect the driver, other passengers and/or safe operation of the coach will result in the culprit being asked to leave the coach, at the discretion of the driver, with no re-dress.

Blue Jays Roundup: Softball trounces Watford City Friday evening

May 3—WATFORD CITY, N.D. — The Jamestown High School softball team has gone 3-for-3 so far this week.

After defeating Mandan 11-8 on Thursday, the Blue Jays readied themselves for a doubleheader in Watford City on Friday.

The Jays topped Watford City 24-1, 21-1 to improve their record to 13-5 overall.

Avery Graves had an incredible first game against Watford's pitcher Adilyn Schaff. Graves went 3-for-3 hitting a pair of doubles and a homer to drive in seven runners. The Blue Jays tallied 13 hits and did not record an error.

Makenna Nold toed the rubber for the Jays, The senior allowed one run on two hits and retired 12. Nold did not allow a walk against the Wolves.

The Jays will finish out the week with a doubleheader in Williston on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

The Blue Jays were so close to forcing extra innings on Friday.

Unfortunately for the Jays, Mandan decided to score in the bottom of the seventh.

The Jays dropped 5-4, 16-1 to the Braves to put their record at 1-7 overall. Head coach Jack Bowman and his team will be back at Jack Brown Stadium on Saturday hosting Watford City in a conference doubleheader set to start at 1 p.m.

Jamestown held tough through the first couple of innings on Friday, not allowing a run to score until Hudsen Sheldon singled on a line drive out to left field and drove home Dylan Gierke.

Sheldon scored later in the third on a Jamestown error.

Jamestown tried its luck at a comeback, notching three runs between the fourth and the fifth to take a 3-2 lead but Mandan rallied back scoring a pair in the sixth and the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh.

Day No. 1 of the Howard Wood Relays resulted in some top-30 placements for the Jamestown qualifiers.

In the girls long jump competition, JHS school record holder, Allysah Larson, placed 14th with a jump of 16 feet, 7.5 inches. Dickinson's Jazmin Barry won the event, making her mark at 19-01.

Layna Hoffer placed 16th in high jump, clearing the bar at 5-01.

Over at the throwing stations, Kinley Anderson wound up placing 16th with a throw of 36-06.25 in the shot put while Addison Marker placed 29th at 33-06.

Marker went on to place 30th in javelin, missing the 100 foot mark by 10 inches. Kendyl Anderson finished 27th in javelin. Anderson's best throw of the day measured 100 feet, 4 inches.

Jacoby Traut and Cody Berreth placed 34th and 37th in the boys javelin contest, respectively.

The two-day event will conclude on Saturday.

Jace Dillman's 77 aided the Jays' 322-point, fourth-place finish at the Minot Invite.

Hunter Gegelman shot a 79 while Camron Andersen and Vaughn Romsdal ended the 18-holes with 83s. Luke LeFevre shot an 85 and was followed closely by Jackson Jarrett (88), Nate Walz (90) and Caleb Schiele (92).

Head coach Shawn Taft and his squad will be back on the greens on Tuesday in Mandan. Golfers are set to tee off at 10 a.m.
