The Grand Tour to return in June with Hammond, Clarkson and May going on epic European journey

The Grand Tour to return in June with Hammond, Clarkson and May going on epic European journey

Clarkson, hammond and may are back behind the wheel for another grand tour special.

Joe Harker

It's only a few weeks until The Grand Tour is back on the screens of motoring enthusiasts with a special episode showing Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May on a new adventure.

The trio are back for The Grand Tour: Eurocrash , a special episode of the Prime Video show following their trip through central Europe.

Starting in Gdansk, Poland, Clarkson , Hammond and May will embark on a 1,400 mile journey down through Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia.

They'll be driving ' cars nobody would ever dream of' and will be competing in a range of challenges along the way which those familiar with The Grand Tour will know is a prime opportunity for the presenters to make fools of themselves.

These challenges will include Soviet style Formula 1, being shot at by archers and a spectacular ending you'd expect to see from one of the Fast & Furious movies.

The Grand Tour trio are back for another adventure in Eurocrash.

There's also supposed to be a 'famous racing driver' showing up at some point, so viewers will have that to look forward to.

It may be one of the last times Prime Video audiences will be able to watch the three together on The Grand Tour after he's supposed to be parting ways with the streaming service once his current crop of projects are finished.

Along with another season of Clarkson's Farm , there will also be three more The Grand Tour specials released after Eurocrash .

The trio were recently pictured back together again filming one of those specials, and fans spotted them in Mauritania with a filming crew to fuel speculation about what they might be up to.

The final special episodes of The Grand Tour are set to be released over the next couple of years, with Eurocrash coming in June and more in the pipeline likely landing in late 2024.

Jeremy Clarkson drives alongside a man on horseback in The Grand Tour: Eurocrash.

James May has said that for him retirement might be 'not far off' as all of the trio are getting quite a bit older these days and it's time to contemplate whether it might be time to call it a day.

In their last special, A Scandi Flick , the presenter was hospitalised after crashing into a wall at 75mph as part of a challenge.

All of the presenters have scored injuries during their time together on Top Gear and The Grand Tour , with Richard Hammond having had two life-threatening car crashes .

The Grand Tour: Eurocrash is due to release on Prime Video on 16 June.

Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May at the 'The Grand Tour' Season 3 launch.

The return of The Grand Tour is now just a matter of weeks away after Amazon Prime Video confirmed the series’ return and revealed a new title.

Eurocrash, which will be a standalone special episode according to reports, will drop on June 16 – making it the first new episode in almost a year.

It will also be the first episode of The Grand Tour to be released since Jeremy Clarkson’s vile column about Meghan Markle, The Duchess of Sussex .

The news comes after Clarkson , Richard Hammond, and James May reunited by hanging out on a boat amid speculation that they were filming the next instalment to the motor enthusiast show.

After three seasons of The Grand Tour, each containing more than 10 episodes, were released between 2016 and 2019, production on the show was affected by Covid .

Since 2020, the show has changed its format to prioritise feature-length episodes, each of which are released months apart with breaks in between.

James May, Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson on a race track in a new series of The Grand Tour.

The most recent, The Grand Tour Presents A Scandi Flick, was unveiled in September 2022 and saw the trio visit Sweden, Norway, and Finland.

This time, Eurocrash will see them embark on a 1,400-mile journey across central and eastern Europe, stopping off in Slovenia, Hungary, and Slovakia.

According to sources, Eurocrash, which is reported to be two hours in length, will feature ‘Soviet-style Formula 1’ and an attack on the main cast by archers.

James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond on a road with three separate cars.

The show also promises an appearance from a ‘famous racing driver’ and teases that the episode will end with a ‘Fast and Furious-style climax’.

Speaking to The Sun , a source said: ‘Nobody thought central Europe would be an option for a road trip but the lads have proven it’s a great destination.’

The next episode, which has no official release date yet, will see Jeremy, Richard, and James journey to Mauritiana on the north-west coast of Africa.

Last month, Jeremy confessed to losing sleep after having to give up some of the animals housed on his Chipping Norton farm and shop Diddly Squat.

In his Times Column , he wrote: ‘I can never sleep properly the night before they go. All the way to the slaughterhouse I have a hot cricket ball in my stomach.’

How to watch The Grand Tour: Eurocrash: stream the latest TGT special online

Hammond, Clarkson and May are back

James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond are back for a European road trip.

  • How to watch
  • Stream the rest of the series

Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are back in The Grand Tour: Eurocrash , a new feature-length special which lands on Friday, June 16.

Streaming: Prime Video Debut: Friday, June 16 Runtime: 2 hours

This outing sees the trio take a road trip around central Europe. It was filmed around Poland and Slovenia and features lots of "weird" cars like the Chevrolet SSR, Crosley Convertible and Klein Vision AirCar which flies.

Eurocrash is the 44th episode of The Grand Tour and its sixth special; since 2019 the Amazon motoring show has eschewed traditional annual seasons with a rota of feature-lengthed specials. Before this one there was Seamen in 2019, A Massive Hunt in 2020, Lochdown and Carnage A Trois in 2021 and A Scandi Flick in 2022.

If you're keen to watch the motoring special, here's how to watch The Grand Tour: Eurocrash.

How to stream The Grand Tour: Eurocrash

You'll be able to watch The Grand Tour: Eurocrash on Prime Video , as Amazon's streaming service created TGT .

Prime Video is technically a perk of Amazon Prime membership, so you'll need to be signed up to the subscription plan to watch. This costs $14.99 / £8.99 per month or $139 / £95 per year, though there's a free trial for people who haven't tried Prime before.

The Grand Tour: Eurocrash lands on the service on Friday, June 16.

How to watch the rest of The Grand Tour

While you don't need to watch the rest of The Grand Tour to understand Eurocrash , fans of motoring shows or Clarkson, Hammond and May's humor may want to do so to prepare for the new show.

There are 43 previous episodes of The Grand Tour prior to Eurocrash , which include five prior specials like this one, and you can watch them all on Prime Video, just like the new series.

The Grand Tour is, after all, an Amazon Original, and future episodes of the show will also more than likely land on the Prime Video platform.

But while The Grand Tour is a spiritual successor to Top Gear , that show's back catalog isn't on Prime Video. Instead, you'll need to use Pluto TV to stream it in the US (though 13 seasons are on Freevee , 5 are on Netflix and 3 are on Max ), and Sky TV or iPlayer to watch in the UK.

‘The Grand Tour: Eurocrash’ Takes Central Europe by Storm

Prime Video series The Grand Tour: Eurocrash (Season 5, Episode 2) Review

Controversy be damned, Jeremy Clarkson remains on our screens whether you like it or not for the motoring reality TV series The Grand Tour , and this time, the special is dubbed “Eurocrash.” Current affairs aside (with Prime Video cutting ties with Jeremy Clarkson due to his comments about Meghan Markle), this is another highly entertaining yet standard offering from the Top Gear trio as they travel through Central Europe in weird, comical cars.

The Grand Tour: Eurocrash is a lot of fun

The fifth season of The Grand Tour continues with its second stand-alone special after 2022’s A Scandi Flick . In the latest episode, Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson, and James May take part in a road trip that no one has ever thought of doing before.

They travel from Gdansk, Poland, through the countries of Slovakia and Hungary before ending in Slovenia, where they conclude at the scenic Lake Bled.

Adding these ‘weird’ cars makes this unconventional road trip hilarious. Richard Hammond is first on the scene, driving a yellow convertible pick-up truck for the entirety of the 1400-mile journey.

Jeremy Clarkson can be found in a hideous, limited-edition Japanese gangster car that looks like something Cruella de Vil would drive. James May is there, bringing up the rear in a 75-year-old micro mini that is four feet wide and struggles to reach its top speed of 40 mph. This, of course, becomes a clear hazard on European motorways.

next grand tour episode after eurocrash

The Grand Tour: Eurocrash (Credit – Prime Video)

As they travel through Central Europe, the presenters enjoy some gorgeous sightseeing diversions. They take in the history and culture of each individual nation while, as you’d expect, performing elaborate practical jokes on one another.

Between all the pranks, there’s room for some car analysis, with the trio using their standard sarcastic wit to inform viewers of their peculiar cars and the many other vehicles specific to those four countries.

This is all topped off with action-packed races and a captivating grand finale.

Eurocrash is a lot of fun. The trio gets up to their usual scripted shenanigans, deploying their trademark irreverent humor wherever they go as they plow through Europe. It’s painfully staged sometimes, but the old formula still works an absolute treat anyway. This special is sure to put a smile on your face at some point during its feature-length run time.

This installment offers nothing new or original, yet the trio is comforting and consistent nonetheless. Fans of the series and the trio’s previous work will not be disappointed. This entertaining road trip includes rebellious, silly comedy, detailed car analysis, and a cracking soundtrack.

Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson, and James May have been performing these sorts of specials for nearly two decades now, and very little has changed in their style or delivery in that time.

Yet even with such an overwhelming history of content behind them, the tried and tested formula still succeeds. It just feels a little dated now, is all.

‘The Grand Tour: Eurocrash’ Coming To Amazon Prime

Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson, James May, The Grand Tour - Instagram

The Grand Tour is finally returning with a new episode. That’s right, Jeremy Clarkson , James May, and Richard Hammond are back with more cool cars and crazy crashes. This episode is called Eurocrash .

Where did the Top Gear alum film, and when will Amazon drop this new episode? We have all the news.

What Is The Grand Tour: Eurocrash About?

Amazon Prime’s hit series The Grand Tour is back with Eurocrash . According to The Sun , the trio will “take on an epic 1,400-mile journey from Gdansk in Poland, through Slovakia, Hungary, and Slovenia.”

Filmed in mid-2022, not long after Russia invaded Ukraine, Jeremy Clarkson, James, May, and Richard Hammond are going to be “attacked by deadly archers.” In addition, they will “take part in a spectacular Fast And Furious -style climax.”

That is not all. In this two-hour episode, they will sample “some Soviet Style Formula 1.” Lastly, they will be meeting up with a famous race driver and trying to “recruit” them.

An insider has shared that “This will be a special like no other – and fans are going to lap it up.” This promises to be a proper road trip that will surprise viewers who are used to the Amalfi Coast, or Monaco as the ideal destinations for petrolheads.

Nobody thought Central Europe would be an option for a road trip, but the lads have well and truly proven it’s a great destination for petrolheads.

We will have to see who will be the one to crash his car in Eurocrash . Hopefully, Captain Slow, James May has fully recovered from his broken rib in A Scandi Flick . Racing in a Norwegian tunnel at 78 mph, he crashed into a wall, sending him to the hospital, and leaving the accident-prone Richard Hammond looking shaky at the sight.

The cars they will be driving in and around Poland include Clarkson’s Mitsuoka Le-Seyde, May in a Crosley Convertible, and Hammond in a Chevrolet SSR.

When Will Amazon Drop Eurocrash ?

When can fans finally see the long-awaited episode? The Grand Tour: Eurotrash drops on Friday, June 16, on Amazon Prime.

Where Did The Grand Tour Just Film?

On Saturday, Jeremey Clarkson shared on Instagram that he was finally getting home. This is because he, James, May, and Richard Hammond were all filming in Mauritania for around a week.

Mauritania is a huge West African country that is twice the size of France, and has a very small amount of paved roads. However, Clarkson has shared a photo of the trio on a boat. Therefore, this next adventure could be dramatically different from the upcoming The Grand Tour: Eurocrash .

Are you looking forward to seeing the trio back for another movie on Amazon Prime?

The next Grand Tour episode has just landed, with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May up to their usual antics in Europe. Antics that some members of the trio enjoyed more than others, it would seem.

During an exclusive chat with RadioTimes.com , James May revealed that Eurocrash proved more challenging for him than it did for his companions.

"Well, I continue to say one of us has a pretty terrible time," he said. "The other two are basically on holiday. There's are a couple of small disasters and there's one quite dramatic one but I shouldn't tell you what it is yet."

We can, however, make an educated guess. When asked on whether their car choices were interesting this time around, May revealed he may not have made the best choice of vehicle for the latest adventure.

"It particularly wasn't the case for me, to be honest, but it was sort of my own fault because I bought that car so I had to stick with it," he explained. "It's a bit like getting a dog from the rescue centre, once you've committed you've got to stick with it."

More like this

He also added that there would be a couple of breakdowns for the seasoned drivers: "Yes, somebody's car, well, actually two of the cars break down, but one of them breaks down more than the other.

"Let's be honest, my car was very old and wasn't a particularly good idea when it was new. It's a very bad one now because that was 70 years ago, 80 years ago."

  • James May shuts down The Grand Tour cancellation rumours
  • Jeremy Clarkson says next seasons of The Grand Tour are "slightly scary"

With so many challenges to contend with, does May have any highlights? Sort of.

"Getting to the end," he said. "Most of the highlights of the trip, I missed the highlights of the other two things like the second biggest Jesus and the famous BMW camp. I missed all that. So no, I don't really have very many highlights."

Richard Hammond Crashes During Next Grand Tour Episode In Europe: Details Revealed

James May dominated headlines when it was revealed that he’d crashed during the latest episode of The Grand Tour, A Scandi Flick , but now our heads turn towards the next episode of the Prime Video car show.

This episode was filmed about three months ago and we watched closely as Jeremy Clarkson , Richard Hammond, and our bold hero James May travelled 2,000km from Poland to Slovenia .

With Hammond in a Chevrolet SSR, James May a Crosley Convertible, and Jeremy Clarkson a Mitsuoka Le-Seyde, the three were spotted driving around the Długa Streets of Gdansk, as well as the post-shipyard areas, the port, and Westerplatte. This area was reported as being where the first gunshot of WWII was fired, hinting that they’re following the story of the Warn.

next grand tour episode after eurocrash

Following this, they travelled to Zielona Gora in Poland’s Lubusz province. This area is known for endless vineyards, so I’m sure the presenters had a great time here as they sipped on what the area had to offer. But before long, they traveled to the  Tor Poznań race track in the city of Poznań. Here they buckled themselves into open-wheeled race cars and took to the track for a race.

Unfortunately for Hammond, it’s been revealed that the accident-prone presenter crashed the race car, with a photo being released of him standing next to his car after hitting a tyre barrier.

The image shows Richard Hammond standing next to the crashed car in a racing suit, with James May stood next to him. It’s rumoured that they were doing timed laps at this point of their travels.

Nothing was posted to Richard’s social channels and I’ve since interviewed the presenter who is safe and well, so it’s unlikely he suffered any major injury from this incident, but the car looked like it could be in a better condition.

This Was The Most Unforgettable Stunt From The Grand Tour

T he Grand Tour has given us some spectacular moments over the years. Jeremy Clarkson , Richard Hammond , and James May have built a car to cross Mongolia with. They’ve traveled across Scandinavia in rally specials . And they have partaken in their usual array of cheap car challenges. Some of the stunts over the course of the show's history are incredible. The latest special, Eurocrash, features an amazing selection such as May driving a tiny little Crosley onto a moving Soviet-era cargo aircraft.

Other epic stunts include the blowing up of Clarkson’s old house by May and Hammond. The terrifying beach buggy cable car from their beach buggy special, and the usual array of madness that the trio has become famous for.

RELATED: Why Abbie Eaton Was The Perfect Choice For The Grand Tour

The Beach Buggy Cable Is The Shows Most Spectacular Stunt

The most outlandish and unforgettable of all their stunts has to be the beach buggy cable that the trio built up at the end of that buggy adventure. It's as terrifying as it sounds, with a winch system taking the trios buggies over, one by one, over a river and across to the finishing point. Powered by loud diesel generators, it certainly looks like a daunting thing to be on. May went first across the cable car and was clearly not happy, screaming “I hate you” towards his co-presenters.

Despite that, he did make it to the end of the run and onto the beach safely. Clarkson was next up, and it somehow looked even more terrifying than when May went across. It didn’t help that Clarkson’s buggy weighed much heavier than May’s. Clarkson brushes the grass as he goes over highlighting how much heavier his buggy was. Hammond is the last to go through, and he was even lower than Clarkson’s, and as he reaches the end the cable car cuts out. Amusingly, Clarkson says that May was too drunk to help and he was mechanically inept. May was seen gulping a beer or two after his cable car run.

The beach buggy shenanigans were high during this special. Earlier, Clarkson and May decided to suspend Hammond from a helicopter in his buggy after he fell asleep in it. Cue plenty of expletives and screams from Hammond as he is going through his journey in the air. It's probably more terrifying than the cable car the three are in at the end of the show.

May And Hammond Blow Up Clarkson’s House

This was a bet by Clarkson. He said if the McLaren P1 wasn’t faster than the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari at the Portimao circuit, they could demolish his house in the Cotswolds. Naturally, the demolition of the house was already planned for Clarkson to build something else. But it made for an interesting stunt for the show. Initially, Hammond and May had to take the roof off tile by tile due to bats living in the house. After that, the madness ensued with diggers and move coming in to take down the house.

May of course want to demolish the house methodically, while Hammond was happy to go all-in and go mad and knock it down in one go. Hammond’s way was clearly quicker, but a new approach was clearly needed after Hammond smashed the windshield of his digger. So the two resorted to blowing up the house in a quick and timely manner. That certainly removed Clarkson’s house from view. Although the explosion probably didn’t sit well with the residents of Chadlington, the village closest to where Clarkson’s Farm now resides .

RELATED: A Closer Look At James May’s Mitsubishi Evo Crash On The Grand Tour A Scandi Flick

Playing Battleship On The Grand Tour Was Another Major Stunt

Hammond and May decided to partake in another big stunt. They took the classic, kid's game Battleships , and scaled it up. The little plastic ships were replaced with cars and the pins that you place into the ships were also replaced with cars. When the ‘ship’ is fully blown up, the car will explode to signify that it is gone. A stretched limo represented the aircraft carrier, and a Toyota Prius the submarine. A Chrysler PT Cruiser was also added, because it's said to be an awful car. As you would expect, the stunt involved plenty of heavy equipment, with a huge crane dropping the cars onto the ‘board’ below them.

At the end of the dramatic game, it is May that comes out on top and beats Hammond to victory. It started out well for May before Hammond rebounded, and brought the game to a thrilling climax. Like everything on the show, and from their old Top Gear days, the stunt was on a grand scale. Reminiscing about these past exploits makes us excited about the upcoming special of The Grand Tour. This is coming globally on June 16th and is entitled “The Grand Tour: Eurocrash” .

RELATED: We Relive The Biggest Explosive Moments Of The Grand Tour Yet

The Grand Tour Eurocrash Promises To Be A Top Gear Style Special

The upcoming special has strong Top Gear vibes to it. The three presenters are going on a massive road trip in three, very unusual and strange cars. Hammond is driving the Chevrolet SSR , May is driving a very odd Crosley, and Clarkson the ugly-looking Mitsuoka Le-Seyde. The three are going on a 1,400-mile round trip through Europe, behind what was The Iron Curtain of the Soviet Union in the Cold War. This will see classic Soviet jet aircraft appear, as well as the Soviet equivalent of Formula 1.

Hammond looks to have had a bit of an accident once again. Images leaked online showed him standing next to a car in the barriers and the trailer confirms him spinning off the track. Although it may be due to an engine issue and not a mistake from Hammond. Archers take aim at the three in another challenge, while May looks to have a rough ride while driving the little Crosley. After the recent article Clarkson wrote about Meghan Markle, many feared this would be the last The Grand Tour special

More The Grand Tour Specials Are On The Way

At least one more special from the trio is coming, with filming recently wrapping in Mauritania. And May recently suggested in an interview that the trio are not sacked or dropped from Amazon . But that they will just end things naturally when they decide the time is right.

May said “I mean, some people have said we’ve been canceled. But really we’re getting quite close to the end of our contract, but we didn’t really have any particular plans to keep going because we’re all really just getting a bit old. It might be time to let someone else have a crack at it.”

He added “No one has told us to go away. It’s reaching its natural end, like parties do. There comes a point at 4am when it is over.” This will be music to the ears of fans who still want more from the three presenters .
