The #1 Private Day Tours in Amsterdam!

He is a certified expert and experienced VIP tour guide and it shows. I learned more in the first 30 at the van Gough museum than I ever known before. The back story of the artist that Steven provided by was so compelling that my wife Debbie and I were hanging on every word. He guided us through the crowed museum in a way that we never felt rushed or pressured. His knowledge of van Gogh and art in general is encyclopaedic. .After our tour we relaxed at the De Gooyer windmill enjoying a snack and a delicious beer. We can’t wait to come back to Amsterdam and enjoy some of the countryside tours offered by Steven.

What can we say about Steven and Private Day Tours Amsterdam?? In one word, AMAZING! Went with my husband and 2 young girls (5 and 8) and spent 3 FANTASTIC DAYS. We loved that we could take things at our own pace - when the girls wanted to stop to pet a baby lamb or feed ducks there was no sense of rushing us - it made it feel so relaxed and natural, like Steven was part of the family...a very knowledgeable part of the family! :) He read our cues effortlessly, and each suggestion was perfect - when to stop for hot cocoa or a snack, and the best place to do it on top of that. Steven is an amazing tour guide, and he aims to please. Everything was amazing, and he was a great driver - that's an important one for me as I usually get motion sick if I'm not driving but not with Steven!

This was absolutely my favourite day in the Netherlands. We were picked up right on time, if not slightly early, by our tour guide Steve. This was our second private tour with Steve this week, so we knew it would be great. We went to Gouda, and we were so lucky that it was market day! Music playing, wheels of cheese, and stroopwafle! The Gouda town hall is stunning. After walking around Gouda we were off to a REAL cheese farm! Then we were off to Oudewater. This magical little city was breathtaking, I swear we were the only tourists there. We went to the weighing station, turns out I’m not a witch and have the certificate to prove it. This tour was one of the best day tours we’ve ever been on!

We had a wonderful day with Steve. First an enjoyable and informative walking tour of Delft. Then a visit to the Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague to see some beautiful paintings (including Vermeer's View on Delft, which we were able to compare to the city we had just seen). Finally a nice walking tour of The Hague. Steve is personable, knowledgeable, interesting, and professional, and it made for a great fully-packed day. Thanks, Steve!

We enjoyed THREE DAYS with Steve while visiting Amsterdam. He was an excellent, knowledgeable guide and catered to all our wishes. I highly recommend and will definitely use him again when we return to Amsterdam.

I would highly recommend this tour. Steve gave us more in our tour than we could ask for. We got the story behind the story. Not only did we get to enjoy the countryside of the Netherlands - we learned about the history of how it was developed, etc. We drove by the home that Anne frank lived in before going into hiding, her bookstore then took a day trip to Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam, Marken. Steve was amazing. We spent about 9 hours with him. He took us to places away from the tourists - we had a delightful lunch and our 17 year old DEVOURED the smoked eel. THANK you Steve for a trip we will treasure for a lifetime.

I did day tours for 4 days with Steve from Private Day Tours Amsterdam. I had the best time ever. Steve was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. These tours were worth it and hugely enjoyable!

SEVEN absolutely fabulous day’s with Steve as our guide! We saw windmills, fishing villages, clog making, cheese farm and so much more all while Steve told us the history behind it all. He also translated as we stopped to talk to locals and really get a feel for each area we visited. When you’re ready for a break, you decide if you want to sit and eat or just stop at local eateries or breweries and Steve will take you to the tastiest places. He sensed when we were ready to move on and if something interested us or just happened as we walked by, we stopped to enjoy. Thank you Captain Steve for the wonderful time we had with you.

Our guide Steve was one of the best guides we have ever had. He continually asked us what was important to us to see and learn about so he could customize the day to our desires. Having been a guide for several years, he was very knowledgeable about the area and its history and was very. He is very personable and speaks excellent English. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this trip and this guide.

Steve led us on a terrific tour through Amsterdam. He was very knowledgeable and showed us places that connected us to the history of Amsterdam. This walking tour gave us an in-depth knowledge to the Jewish quarter, a subject he was very passionate about. I highly recommend experiencing a tour with Steve!

Steve is an excellent guide. We learned a lot about the Netherlands and the places we went to. He customized the trip to suit our needs/taste. For example, he noticed that my niece was fond of cows so he took us to the cheese farm that tended them. In Volendam, we had lunch at a lake-side restaurant that was more frequented by locals than tourists. A truly one-of-a-kind experience!

Steve is a great tour guide, driver and new friend. We toured 7 days with my wife, granddaughter and enjoyed every moment with Steve. Our knowledge of Holland, the arts and history was so expanded by his contribution.

What people love about Amsterdam Tours

Jessica was amazing and very accommodating. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Great group and a wonderful cruise
This is my second tour with Europamundo. The first was not all that great, but I was partially to blame so I decided to give them another shot. This tour includes stops at locations that are in line with what one would expect to see in the cities included. The transportation is decent and comfortable. Another family and I were asked if we would mind going on a different tour bus because of seating space. Once on the bus it was conducted entirely in Spanish and we had to remind the guide that there were English speakers on board. The city tours provide a lot of information and scenic memories. Make a note that it says on the last day the end of services is after breakfast. Actually, after the city tour in Paris the day before the end of the tour you will get dropped off by the L'ouvre under the premise of a "free day" and you are on your own to get back to your hotel. The accommodations are about a 7.5/10. In Amsterdam I was at the Radisson Blu. It was a nice full service hotel. Daily breakfast was good. Room was comfortable and clean. However, it is not located by anything but warehouse/industrial buildings. However, in Paris We stayed at the Residhome Aparthome in Nanterre. The location is great!!! Lots of restaurants and buzzing college town. However the accommodations were horrid. Specifically my room #209 had old peeling furniture and mildew on the roof and doorways. I took pics and will upload. The staff were French speaking only. Overall, the tour is good. Saw lots of sights and made lifetime memories. Europamundo needs to do a little more fine tuning to be sure the tours run a little more smoothly. I will say I would consider doing another tour with them. Considering the price the value matches what was paid.
Amazing Experience. I’d definitely recommend this trip?

I had a 13 layover and decided to book a walking tour. Alan was absolutely amazing. He kept me entertained and even got me to try some of the local favorite cuisines. I am so grateful for this experience.

My daughter and I took an unscripted tour with Anna. We requested a tour of shopping areas. Anna was amazing. She wove in and out of streets and showed us great places to shop and eat. She was kind and patient. My daughter had a lot of fun. It was a wonderful experience and I recommend highly.

Was terrible Weather and raining the entire 3 hours but Gerg was wonderful! We opted for the private tour so we could have some flexibility in what we wanted to see/do since it was the first time our boys have been to Amsterdam. He was very knowledgeable and we had a great time learning about the history and touring around the city. Would highly recommend!

Alan was absolutely perfect. We got to see a little bit of everything during my 13 hour layover and he made sure I got back to the airport on time. I learned some fun facts and had quite the adventure. I was paired perfectly and so glad I chose this tour. Thank you Alan!!!!

Wonderful post! After reading your blog, I feel like I should share this with my lovely wife and kids. That’s because we are planning to visit the Netherlands in Summer. Personally, the Netherlands has been on my bucket list for quite a while and the recent easing of travel restrictions has prompted me to get a Netherlands Visa from UK Online. I would love to visit the enchanting cities as they seem like some of the most popular attractions in the Netherlands. We would also take some suggestions from your blog about choosing the right accommodations for our trip.

Nomadic Matt: Travel Cheaper, Longer, Better

The Best Walking Tours in Amsterdam

One of the many historic canals in Amsterdam surrounded by flowers

Amsterdam is one of my favorite cities in the world. I’ve been visiting it regularly for over a decade and even spent some time living there. It’s a city with a misunderstood reputation, often glossed over as simply a place to party and partake in the illicit Red Light District.

But Amsterdam has so much more to offer.

If you want to explore the city, there are really only two ways to get around: biking and walking. And fortunately, for those who like to walk (and/or bike) the Dutch capital offers a legion of picturesque strolls: along leafy canals, past centuries-old churches and cozy canal houses, and down narrow cobblestoned lanes.

To really get a glimpse below the city’s surface, take a walking tour. I take them in every city I visit. They’re the best way to learn about the history and culture while connecting with an expert local guide who can share their tips and insight.

Amsterdam, unsurprisingly, offers an array of unique tours: from sex worker-led tours through the famed Red Light District to tours that explore the city’s recreational drug culture to strolls that focus on the history of the city.

To help you decide which ones to take, here’s my list of the best walking tours in Amsterdam!

BEST PAID TOUR

Take Walks logo

Take Walks is my go-to tour company. Their tours are fun, detailed, and use expert local guides so you always learn ton. They also get you behind the scenes with special access to attractions that other tours just can’t get (they have an early-access tour to the Rijksmuseum so you can beat the crowds). If you want to really learn about the city and connect with a knowledgable guide, this is the company for you! I love their tours the best.

Best Free Tour

new Europe logo

Sandemans New Europe

Sandemans does free tours in many big European cities and they know what they’re doing. With a local guide leading the way, their three-hour walking tour hits all the major sites in Amsterdam. Start at the National Monument and end at the Anne Frank House and in between stroll along canals while stopping in the Jewish Quarter, various churches, bridges, and canal-side houses along the way.

For more suggestions, here’s a few other walking tours worth checking out in Amsterdam:

1. Amsterbike

This tour with AmsterBike a perfect way to connect with the local pace of life. AmsterBike offers a few different types of tours, including a cycling tour around the canals and tours out into the countryside.

For their Amsterdam city tour, spend three hours pedaling along canals and down narrow atmospheric streets of this loveable city, learning the history of the place as you go along while stopping at some of the city’s most iconic spots.

Tours from 34.50 EUR.

Book your tour here!

2. Free Food Tour Amsterdam

Dutch gouda cheese, scrumptiously sweet and gooey stroopwafels, deep-fried savory bitterballen, and fresh herring are all on offer during this free two-hour walking tour that explores the food of Amsterdam. The expert local guides give a nice overview of the history and culture of Dutch cuisine while you nibble on samples of traditional foods. And yes – you really do get free food on the tour (just be aware that these are tasting bites, don’t expect to get full here). Just tips the guide at the end.

3. Hungry Birds

For nearly a decade this female-owned tour company has been feeding hungry visitors with knowledge and food of Amsterdam. “Mother birds,” as they refer to their guides, lead food-loving visitors around this charming Dutch metropolis for 4.5 hours, snacking on all manner of edible Dutch delights. Tour-goers get the chance to sample street food, traditional Dutch fare including herring and stroopwafels, some non-Dutch treats like Surinamese and Indonesian cuisine, as well as food at an old-school atmospheric food market.

Tours from 79 EUR.

4. HistoryWalks

Despite the country’s neutrality during World War II, the Nazis invaded the Netherlands in 1939 shortly after the war broke out. Led by a retired history professor, their “World War II and the Holocaust in Amsterdam” tour takes visitors on a whirlwind around the city viewing it through the lens of World War II. It’s a fascinating three hours and the guides really know their stuff. If you’re a history buff like me — or if you just want to learn more about the war from a Dutch perspective — this is the tour for you.

Tours from 40 EUR.

5. Ultimate Party Amsterdam

These wild, party-themed pub crawl tours are festive and fun. Hop on the Red Light District pub crawl where the tour begins with unlimited vodka shots for the first 30 minutes (and then at every stop you get another free shot of booze). The tour concludes with free entry into Amsterdam’s biggest nightclub. This tour isn’t all just about getting drunk (though that’s a big part of it) but is a good way to discover some cool party spots so you can come back later and explore more on your own. It’s a great way to meet people too if you’re traveling solo.

Tours from 25 EUR.

6. Eating Europe

Started in Italy a decade ago, Eating Europe now has tours in many big European cities, including Amsterdam. The local guides know how to eat — and where! The food tour through the hip neighborhood of Jordaan gives a great taste of the amazing food scene there. The 3.5-hour walking tour hits some of the coolest spots in the neighborhood, plus street food and food markets to sample traditional and creative takes on Dutch food as well as some great international food. The knowledgeable guides also give a great account of the history of Dutch cuisine and the history and culture of feasting in Amsterdam.

Tours from 94 EUR.

7. O My Amsterdam Tours

Amsterdam is famous for its tolerance of recreational drug culture, particularly marijuana. In certain cafes, it’s totally fine to light up a joint and get higher than a kite. This 2.5-hour tour takes a bong-sized hit of drug culture and history in Amsterdam, leading curious visitors to cannabis grow rooms and the marijuana museum, among other spots, all the while explaining drug culture here. The guide even explains the difference between bad weed and good weed. It’s a real trip!

8. Prostitute Information Center Tours

The Prostitute Information Center, or PIC, in Amsterdam aims to dispel some myths and misconceptions about prostitution, in general, and in Amsterdam, in particular. Every Wednesday to Saturday at 5pm, a current or former sex worker leads tours around the Red Light District, explaining the practices of the trade and taking tour-goers into an actual room where prostitutes entertain customers. And of course, you can ask a lot of questions. It’s everything you ever wanted to know about sex work but were afraid to ask.

9. AllTourNative Amsterdam

This Dutch metropolis has a huge alternative culture scene. And the best introduction to it is to take a guided walking tour. AllTourNative Amsterdam’s “Street Art and Alternative Amsterdam” tour takes visitors to see some of the city’s best street murals, galleries, and coffeehouses that support and create alternative culture in Amsterdam. The 2.5-hour tour will definitely take you to spots you would not normally have heard of as a tourist. They even have a street art bike tour for a different perspective of the city’s vibrant murals.

Tours from 20 EUR.

13 Best Boutique Hotels in Amsterdam Right Now

13 Best Boutique Hotels in Amsterdam Right Now

Looking for the best boutique hotels in Amsterdam ? I’ve put together the ultimate guide. After several trips to this incredible city, I’m excited to share my favorite boutique accommodations.

It’s hard to capture a city as unique as Amsterdam in words. Founded at the mouth of the Amstel River, its picturesque canals, navigability, and cozy spaces make me love it even more each time I return. I even extended my most recent stay by a few days (something I’ve never done!) to take in more of its history, art scene, and trendy boutiques, cafes, and restaurants .

Amsterdam

Amsterdam’s hotel scene reflects all those qualities and more. There’s no shortage of historical buildings that have been transformed to house beautiful boutique hotels today, providing an abundance of options in the heart of the city and the opportunity to be transported through time. Many of which thoughtfully integrate elevated culinary experiences, including a host of Michelin-starred restaurants.

Below are my picks for the best hotels Amsterdam has to offer.

What is the Best Area to Stay in Amsterdam?

With its bike-friendliness, walkability, and abundant public transportation, Amsterdam is easy to get around no matter where you stay. That said, there are other benefits to staying in the city’s center and canal district, like easy access to the beautiful canals, shopping, and dining of the “9 streets” neighborhood.

What are the Cheapest Boutique Hotels in Amsterdam, Netherlands?

Amsterdam is home to so many great affordable hotel options, keeping it accessible to many travelers. Some of my personal picks are The Weavery , Hotel de Hallen , and Volkshotel .

What are the Best Boutique Luxury Hotels in Amsterdam?

Amsterdam boasts a great selection of boutique luxury hotels. A few of my personal favorites are the Conservatorium Hotel , Pulitzer Amsterdam , and The Dylan .

What are the Best Boutique Hotels Near the Anne Frank House?

Short on Time? Here Are My Top Picks for the Best Boutique Hotels in Amsterdam:

  • Conservatorium Hotel , for the best design hotel

These are the sites I use most to book my own trips. Using the links below is a great way to support Bon Traveler’s travel journalism at no extra cost to you . If you need help organizing your itinerary, get my free travel itinerary template here .

1. Book Your Flights

Use Skyscanner to find the best flights. It searches 100s of airlines and websites across the globe to ensure you’re not missing out on any route options or deals.

2. Book Your Accommodations

Use Booking.com for hotels and guest houses. They have the biggest inventory and consistently offer the best rates.

3. Book Your Tours & Experiences

Use Viator or Get Your Guide to find the best tours and experiences. They are my favorite tour search engines. I always check both as their inventory varies depending on the destination.

4. Book Your Car

Use Discover Cars or Rentalcars.com to find the best car rental deals. I recommend comparing rental agency reviews on Google to ensure you are booking with the best company in that destination, as the reviews are often more accurate than the car rental search engines.

5. Don’t Forget Airport Lounge Access

Get a Priority Pass membership to gain access to 1,400+ VIP lounges and airport experiences worldwide. The Priority Pass app is the first thing I check when I have a layover. I’ve been a member for over a decade, and having a comfortable place to relax before and between flights makes air travel so much more enjoyable.

6. Don’t Forget Travel Insurance

I never leave the country without travel insurance. It provides comprehensive protection in case anything goes wrong (ie. illness, injury, theft, and cancelations, etc.). I use it frequently for my travels to stay protected.

My favorite companies that offer the best coverage and rates are:

  • World Nomads (best for all-around)
  • Safety Wing (best for frequent travelers)

Canal boat tour.

Canals of Amsterdam -Five days in Amsterdam: a guide for first-time visitors

Perhaps the most marked characteristic of Amsterdam is its 165 canals. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2010, it was originally intended to encourage trade and transport and today provides a way for travelers to take in the city’s sights and attractions in an unforgettable way.

You can take a canal cruise from one of the many tours that operate on the canal, and they usually take one hour. As well as the opportunity to learn more about the facts and history of the canals, you also have the chance to pick which type of tour will suit you best; they range from candle-lit cruises to hop-on-hop-off services.

Don’t forget that platforms like Airbnb offer a range of boathouses to rent so that you can actually live on the canal, too!

Situated in the middle of Dam Square is the National Monument, Netherland’s most important World War II memorial. It stands at 22-meters high and every year on the 4 th of May, a national Remembrance of the Dead is held at this monument where people gather to pay respects to fallen soldiers.

There is a Latin inscription on the pillar which translates in English to: “Here, where the heart of the fatherland is, may this monument, which citizens carry in their heart, gaze at God’s stars.” It was designed by Dutch architect J.J.P. Oud and became an official national heritage monument in 2009.

5 Days in Amsterdam: Day Three

Jordaan neighborhood.

Jordaan Amsterdam

Arguably the most famous neighborhood in Amsterdam is Jordaan. Once a poor district for the working class, years of gentrification means it is now home to a host of young artists, students, and entrepreneurs as well as galleries, restaurants, and boutiques.

Its charming narrow streets and little canals make walking through this neighborhood highly enjoyable; as well as hosting several markets like Noordermarkt which has a flea market on Monday mornings, Jordaan offers hidden courtyards, art studios, and small museums.

It was also once home to several significant figures in history like famous Dutch writer Joost van den Vondel, painter, and photographer Breitner, and artist Rembrandt van Rijn.

The best way to experience Jordaan is through a food tour. Not only you will see the neighborhood and learn its history but you will also have the chance to taste some mouthwatering food. Read about my Jordaan food tour .

You’ll also be able to see the bookcase that helped to hide the entrance to her family’s hiding place. Toward the end of your trip, you can stop by the Diary Room which contains her famous diary.

Begijnhof - 5 days in Amsterdam: a guide for first-time visitors

Dating back to the 14 th century, this tranquil and enclosed courtyard was originally intended for the Begijntjes, a nun-like Catholic sisterhood. There are beautiful houses surrounding the courtyard and gardens where you will also find the English Church with its original medieval tower, the Begijnhof Chapel, and the Civic Guards Gallery where there is a selection of 17th-century paintings of important men and women from Amsterdam. The wooden house, Houten Huys, is the oldest surviving house in the city and dates back to 1420.

Five days in Amsterdam: a guide for first-time visitors

The Oude Kerk (old church) is both Amsterdam’s oldest building and parish church. It is a 13 th century, 800-year-old building towering over the Red Light District, oddly enough.Originally built as a Catholic place of worship, it now is an expression of Dutch Protestantism and frequently hosts exhibitions and concerts.

Inside, the architecture is impressive and beautiful and the windows are high and flooded with light. Other points of attraction inside are Madam Saskia van Uylenberg’s grave (number 29), Rembrandt’s beloved wife who was buried there, and a 17th-century grand organ. It is typically open seven days a week and you can take guided tours which leave every 30 minutes.

Nieuwe Kerk

Nieuwe Kerk - 5 days in Amsterdam: a guide for first-time visitors

The Nieuwe Kerk (new church) is the most important church in the Netherlands. Built in the 15 th century, it lies adjacent to the Royal Palace and is used today as an exhibition space. After fire damage many years ago, it was restored to exhibit its original Renaissance features.

Many Dutch monarchs have been inaugurated in NieuweKerk, and it was even a host to the wedding of His Majesty King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander andPrincessMáxima. Inside is also the tomb of Dutch admiral Michiel de Ruyter and poet and playwright Joost van den Vondel, amongst others. It opens daily apart from Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Near the end of the street isKalvertoren Building, a historic building turned modern mall occupying three levels. At the very end of Kalverstraat, if you walk through theMunttoren (Mint Tower), you will arrive at Amsterdam’s vibrant Flowermarketwhere you will find all kinds of tulips, bulbs, and flowers.

Red Light District

Red light district - 5 days in Amsterdam: a guide for first-time visitors

Situated in one of the oldest and most beautiful parts of the city, the infamous Red Light District, also known as Rosse Buurt to the locals, is a network of brothels, sex shops, peep shows, coffee houses, and museums. Women parade their bodies through window parlors and people from all over the world – couples, hen’s night groups point and stare as they walk down one of Amsterdam’s major tourist attractions.

The main Red Light District is in the Walletjes area , and while it may look dodgy on the outside, it is well-protected with police and private bodyguards patrolling it. It may be interesting to know that prostitution is legal in Holland and that it is at the heart of Amsterdam’s nightlife entertainment that they get to enjoy acceptance.

Visit this district from 11 pm onwards, either in a group or in a guided tour, to get the full experience of swarming crowds and blaring neon lights reflecting in the canals.

It is advisable passengers carry necessities that they may need for the day such as water, dry snacks, cameras etc. with them in their hand luggage.

For this tour, it should be noted that the travel times are extensive on this tour.

Weather in much of Belgium and Netherlands tends to be the same as England and is very unpredictable. Regardless of the time of the year, it is advisable to carry an umbrella. Temperatures vary from place to place, and it is a good idea to check online for average temperatures for the destination(s) being visited depending on the time of the year.

Passengers can be well prepared by ensuring they are carrying appropriate clothing, footwear and accessories. Passengers should also be aware that during the winter months most of the sightseeing will be in the dark as, in Europe, the day becomes dark very early during winter. Passengers should consult with Star Tours at the time of booking if they are unsure.

Wheelchairs & Child Seats

We will accept lightweight manual wheelchairs for travel, subject to them being capable of being stowed in the luggage hold of the coach.  It is also essential that a family member is also on tour to push their wheelchair. Star Tour’s will also request hotels for suitably equipped rooms; however, this is only on a request basis and cannot be guaranteed. It should be noted Keukenhof and Madurodam is not fully accessible for a wheelchair user. Amsterdam and Brussels will have cobbled streets, which may not be suitable for wheelchairs.

In most of Europe, the use of child seats in coaches is mandatory for children under the age of 12 or who are shorter than 150 cm. Children under 7 years old or less than 125 cm tall must use a child seat with a harness or a restraint system. Children between 7 and 12 years old or between 125 and 150 cm tall must use a booster seat or a seat cushion. Nicki Minaj is released after Amsterdam arrest for allegedly 'carrying drugs': Reports

5 star tours amsterdam

Nicki Minaj has apparently been released after being arrested in Amsterdam on Saturday, according to reports by multiple outlets. Footage from an Instagram Live by Minaj showed her exchange with an officer. It was then recorded and posted on X by various fan accounts.

Multiple reports state that Minaj's release was seemingly confirmed by Amsterdam police in a post on the agency's X account in Dutch although her name was not mentioned. In English it reads: "We have just released a 41-year-old American woman who we arrested this afternoon at Schiphol on suspicion of exporting soft drugs. After consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, the suspect was fined and can continue her journey."

The 12-time Grammy nominee appeared to be detained after a video, lasting over three minutes, shows the rapper discussing her apparent arrest with an Amsterdam police officer, who said the star is being detained "because you're carrying drugs" after she asked why she was being arrested.

The "Anaconda" rapper responded by saying "I'm not carrying drugs." Minaj continued the conversation by telling the officer "I need a lawyer present" and "no, I need a lawyer present now" when the officer told her to get in a vehicle. The officer then appeared to say, "we'll get (you to) next show." Minaj responded and said, "you're talking about my show? What about it?" according to an apparent Instagram Live posted from the rapper's own page.

USA TODAY has reached out to reps for Minaj. In a emailed statement to USA TODAY, Amsterdam Police said "we cannot provide information on persons older than 18 years. This is because of the data privacy law. Therefore, we cannot confirm anything."

Minaj was slated to perform in Manchester, England on Saturday, according to her official tour website. But that has now been postponed due to the incident, according to reports.

Arrest follows X posts claiming Amsterdam airport security was trying to 'sabotage' her world tour

The star first made noise earlier Saturday before her alleged arrest after claiming apparent Amsterdam Airport Schiphol officials were trying to "sabotage" her tour.

In a lengthy series of X posts, she took aim at the airport saying, "they've been trying everything they can to TRY to stop this tour" and adding, "they took my luggage & when I asked where it is they said it's on the plane. It couldn't have been, I just pulled up." Minaj added that "this is how they plant things on your luggage."

The rap superstar is currently on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour and was en route to Manchester, her next tour stop, when the incident took place.

She posted a nearly one-minute-long video of herself discussing the luggage issue with an airport official, who appeared to be an apparent airport security guard that said they want to "open" her bags. Later, Minaj posted that "they said they found weed." As she noted in a previous X post, marijuana is legal in Amsterdam .

Minaj explained that the alleged luggage issue was happening because "they" try to make her book a new plane "every time" and added that she "fired mngmnt who I found out for years were adding on 30-50K on my jet & pocketing it." Minaj also said she fired a tour manager recently for the same thing and continued, saying "their goal is to make me late, & to pocket 40K."

"They’re being paid big money to try to sabotage my tour b/c soooooo many ppl are mad that it’s this successful & they can’t eat off me. They got caught stealing money from my travel/jets. Got fired. Got mad. Etc," Minaj wrote on X.

Minaj also reposted a post on X by a fan suggesting that the bag checks are being done to further sabotage the star.

"The odds that this happens before an international flight right after Nickis announcement for the second leg of her US tour is suspect. The opps are really out here. There is not one single person that can convince me otherwise. The proof is in the second bag check," the user said.

Nicki Minaj airline, airport posts on X follow Megan Thee Stallion rant from earlier this year

In addition to this spat with airport officials, Minaj is known for her public feuds with other female rappers including Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B. Earlier this year, she lashed out at Megan Thee Stallion in a series of tweets and a diss track, "Big Foot."

"Swearing on your dead mother when you lie," Minaj  said in one line . "Cause she was lying on your dead momma."

Megan Thee Stallion's Hiss hits No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 amid Nicki Minaj feud

She also told Megan Thee Stallion she "fell off, I said 'get up on your good foot," referencing her Houston-born rival's 2020 shooting by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez. Later on the track, Minaj raps "like a bodybuilder I keep raisin' the bar" before rhyming and questioning "you get shot with no scar?"

Nicki Minaj's diss track and on X came after her rap peer returned to music with hit single "Hiss" (which followed the similarly reptilian track "Cobra"), rapping that people "don't be mad at Megan," but they're "mad at Megan's Law." Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, and her brother, Jelani Maraj, are registered sex offenders.

Who is matthieu pavon 5 things to know about the frenchman surging up the u.s. open leaderboard, share this article.

If you haven’t been watching a ton of golf outside of the major tournaments this year, you may be wondering a bit about the top of the leaderboard at this weekend’s U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2.

French native Matthieu Pavon has remained in contention for the title all week and finally grabbed the outright lead on Saturday. So who is the 31-year-old golfer?

Let’s dive into his background as he looks to win his first major title.

1. Pavon is currently ranked No. 24 in the world

That’s likely to change after this week. Pavon entered the U.S. Open with just one victory on the PGA Tour since turning pro in 2013. That came earlier this year at Torrey Pines in the Farmer’s Insurance Open . He followed that up with a third place finish at Pebble Beach in the following week’s AT&T Pro-Am.

Yet Pavon hasn’t had a ton of success in the majors until this week. His previous best at the U.S. Open is a T25 in 2018 and his best finish at any major is a T12 at the Masters this year. Pavon missed the cut in his other three major tries.

2. He’s a native of Toulouse, France

Pavon would become the first Frenchman to win the U.S. Open — which is saying something since this is the 124th edition of the tournament.

But that would be nothing new since his win at the Farmers Insurance Open made him the first French winner on the PGA Tour since 1907.

3. He’s the son of pro soccer star and manager Michel Pavon

Pavon’s father Michel actually played on the U21 French national team during nearly a decade with Toulouse FC, scoring 42 goals in 388 career appearances as a midfielder from 1986-2001.

Since retiring, Michel has managed for Bordeaux, Blanquefort and Libourne.

I didn’t realise that Matthieu Pavon’s dad was a very successful footballer until he referenced it yesterday. Scored against Man United in the Champions League back in 2000 no less. The keeper’s had a bit of a shocker here, but nice strike from Dad Pavon all the same. pic.twitter.com/Pz9nCRqhrc — Sam Harrop (@sam_golf) January 28, 2024

4. Pavon earned his 2024 PGA Tour card by finishing 15th in the 2023 DP World Tour

And if he keeps up this level of play he won’t have to worry about losing his Tour status anytime soon.

5. Pavon’s favorite quote is tattooed on his hand

Pavon has plenty of tattoos but one on his hand is especially meaningful , as he explained earlier this year:

"The saliva that flows now will become the tears of joy tomorrow." A closer look @MatthieuPavon 's inspiring tattoo. The Frenchman looks to secure his first TOUR victory in his rookie season. pic.twitter.com/wQ91V6FJdi — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) January 27, 2024

PGA Tour reports ‘progress’ without details in meeting with Saudi wealth fund leaders

The PGA Tour reported progress without details from a face-to-face meeting between its negotiating committee and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia as it tries to work toward a deal.

“We want to get this right, and we are approaching discussions with careful consideration for our players, our fans, our partners and the game’s future,” the tour said in a statement released Saturday morning.

The meeting in New York on Friday evening involved the “transaction committee” of PGA Tour Enterprises and Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the governor of the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund that pays for rival LIV Golf.

Rory McIlroy is on the committee and said he was encouraged by the progress. He referred to the three-hour meeting as “very productive, very constructive, very collaborative.”

“Definitely things are heading in the right direction,” McIlroy said after the third round of the Memorial. He participated on a video call. “A lot of progress was made. I can’t really say much more than that, but it was really positive.”

PGA Tour Enterprises is the commercial group that came out of the framework agreement announced a year ago among the PGA Tour, PIF and the European tour.

PGA Tour Enterprises brought on Strategic Sports Group, which invested an initial $1.5 billion earlier this year. Negotiations are ongoing to bring in PIF as a minority investor, and there has been more activity than previously believed.

McIlroy, who joined Tiger Woods and Adam Scott on the transaction committee, said it has been meeting with PIF representatives every Monday, Wednesday and Friday over the last couple of weeks. The tour referred to negotiations as “accelerated” in recent months.

Friday’s meeting was the first in-person discussion since players and board members met with Al-Rumayyan in the Bahamas the day after The Players Championship in March.

The tour said the committee and PIF have been meeting “multiple times weekly to work through potential deal terms and come to a shared vision on the future of professional golf.” It said only that “more progress was made” in New York.

“We remain committed to these negotiations, which require working through complex considerations to best position golf for global growth,” the tour said.

McIlroy said those multiple meetings are more about financials, such as the investment possibilities of PIF and SSG.

“But I think last night was more talking about the future of the game and the vision, and that was where I thought there was a lot of progress that was made,” he said.

Woods and Scott are on the full PGA Tour Enterprises board, along with player directors Jordan Spieth, Webb Simpson, Patrick Cantlay and Peter Malnati.

McIlroy resigned from the PGA Tour board last November, and there was an unsuccessful attempt by Simpson to have McIlroy replace him. McIlroy, the strongest voice who has gone from heavy criticism of LIV to being more willing to compromise, is part of the transaction committee and ultimately does not have a vote.

But he has relationships with both sides of the table. McIlroy had said he would be more in listen mode when the business leaders — Al-Rumayyan and his team at PIF, a PGA Tour Enterprises committee that includes four SSG investors — sorted through details.

“We’re there to maybe give a perspective from player’s point of view,” McIlroy had said Thursday. “But, I mean, this is a negotiation about an investment into PGA Tour Enterprises. This is ‘big boy’ stuff, and I’ll certainly be doing more listening than I will be talking.”

He said Saturday he did weigh in on occasion.

“The mute button was turned off a couple of times to chime in,” he said.
