Best boat tour ever

My husband is not of fan of these so its a huge tribute when he says its the best hes ever been on. Not a big focus on drinking, just lots of information, and a highly attentive crew. Capt Ray has a wonderful acerbic wit that I really appreciated, while we saw and he described every feature of the Napali coast. Crew members Ryan, Ben and Matt were a lot of fun and very helpful. Despite their best efforts, I did get a little seasick, so take your bonine, what have you, beforehand. Snorkeling was ok, I didn't have to switch my gear once which is unusual for me, but other than the fish the tour boats feed and therefore are quite tame I didn't really see that many. We did see dolphins and turtles. The lunch was nice, dare I say healthy. The standout event was having to rescue a kite surfer, quite exciting.

This is one of the most favorite things I do in Kauai, Blue Dolphin Charters takes the time to show you the breathtaking scenery of the Na Pali Coast. Our crew, Captain Greg, Mana, Ben and Kamaile, were incredible. Their attention to detail really makes this worth while. Safety first always..... great information & fun, fun, fun. We will be back again next year for the third time. We had so much fun on the Na Pali Coast day trip, we decided to go for the dinner cruise. This was spectacular also, different colours in the evening for pictures. Can't say enough about their staff. Thanks Greg.... and crew for making it a trip to remember!!! Sheila N

My husband and I just returned from our Hawaii vacation and we absolutely loved our Blue Dolphin boat tour. We were so very impressed with the crew and their attentive service from start to finish. They are constantly walking around with water and ginerale and pretzels to make sure you don't get sea sick. Also, the captain didn't seem to be on any tight time schedule which was nice when we saw two schools of dolphins, he stopped, turned the boat around so we could find them and slowed down so we could enjoy every second of them. He made sure we saw every single beautiful part of the Napali Coast, every waterfall, every valley, cave and beach. The crew was always offering to take multiple photos of us. The dinner was so yummy. We could get seconds if we wanted to. We just love this so much. We would do it again in a heart beat.

We booked the early morning snorkel cruise to NaPali but had to change the reservation. I expected a hassle but it was no problem..the Blue Dolphin folks were courteous and the change of date was easy. The cruise itself was fantastic. We lucked out on the weather...cloudless blue skies, virtually no wind, and calm seas. Check-in was fast and safety briefing was concise and reassuring. Capt Chris and the crew (Danny, Shane, Ben) were great..kept us entertained, well-fed, hydrated, and informed regarding all the on-store sites and the water creatures we observed. Huge schools of dolphins played with us, and we saw turtles and even a monk seal. SCENERY along NaPali is breathtaking, and Capt Chris has interesting stories about many of the coastal features. The breakfast was basic but tasty, as was the deli-style lunch buffet. Cold beer and mai-tais made the trip back to Port Allen most relaxing. The only negative was the snorkeling...not many fish to see and no other underwater features to make it interesting. Nonetheless this was a great way to spending 6 hours. Everyone at Blue Dolphin seems focused on making sure their guests have an enjoyable experience and in our case they certainly succeeded. I highly recommend.

The best thing I did on my entire trip to Kauai!! I did the dinner cruise (4 hour) and wow, I am smiling just thinking about it. First off the crew & captain was AMAZING! (Chad, Joe(l), & Danny). Trust me when I tell you that you want these three, so when you call to book the tour make sure to ask for them. You can tell every single one of them loved their job. Especially the captain. Because of them I was comfortable, had the most memorable time, and got the best possible views. I really owe this amazing experience to them. THANK YOU! 1. These guys went further up the coast and cliffs of Na'pali than ANY OTHER COMPANY OR BOAT! We went MILES out to a better view, and went UNDER TWO WATERFALLS. The captain encouraged me to go through it, and told me that this was a once in a lifetime experience AND HE WAS RIGHT! WOW! He was extremely knowledgable of the history of Hawaii and the Na'pali coast. And trust me when I say you go farther than any other company....we saw all the other boats stop miles back. 2. You get drinks and food on the dinner cruise. These guys are also better priced than the other companies! The food was bbq chicken, or pork, rice, salad, pineapples, cookies, chips, and drinks....alll you can drink. Great! You don't leave hungry and there's snacks along the way. Tips: 1. Wear something you don't mind getting completely soaked in. (Hint: if you wear white...you will turn see thru ;) Also bring a sweater, something you can put on quick in case you go through rain....Imagine someone throwing 5 buckets of water at your face and body. Ya...that wet. Theres no way to avoid it, you're in the middle of the ocean with waves, and showers, and waterfalls. Its mostly warm but there are minutes at a time you might get a little chilly. Bring towels. Trust me when I say dress comfortable, you will be moving around all over the boat. Dont worry about shoes, you leave them at the port, you will all be barefoot. Wear sunscreen...you will be in the sun for the majority of the time, its not overwhelming though, there is a lot of cool ocean breeze. 2. Bring a waterproof camera, you get soaked, so does all of your stuff including the nice camera you are trying to take pics with, and your iphone. Trust me a regular camera or lense gets wet and cannot take pics with droplets of water on it. I like a fool spent most of my time wiping my lense with something dry I could find and wiping off my camera. I should have just got a waterproof case and saved myself the worry. 3. Tip the captain and crew, they work hard and make sure you have a great time they really deserve it. 4. Sit up by the captain! So much fun to get to know the crew and all the guests on the boat! This is what Hawaii is all about, and a perfect place to have a great time and meet cool people and talking to the captain and crew got me in a great mood! 5. If you wear a hat, make sure it has strings on it or some sort of fastener, all other hats WILL blow off. trust me. 6. Listen to the crew, there are certain rules like coming down the stairs back towards the water, also to ALWAYS be holding on to a railing. If you don't do one of these things, they will friendly remind you. The boat REALLY rocks, even if you are in great shape it will throw your stuff and yourself to the other side of the boat, or in the water. People get carried away with taking photos and next thing you know they are on the floor (its almost annoying to see because some people don't listen). Seriously, listen to the crew, especially when they tell you to do something regarding safety, no one wants anyone hurt, or a poor mood. 7. If you get motion sickness, don't go. It really rocks, and despite some of the guests having bracelets and all kinds of patches, they right away started to suffer from motion sickness. 8. Relax, have some drinks, mingle with the crew, take lots of photos, and enjoy the most gorgeous cliffs and coast. GO UNDER THE WATERFALLLLLS!!!!!!!!!!! TRUST ME! and pick this amazing crew and captain. Thank you guys for making this a lifetime memory! I can't wait to be back

We Booked the Sunset sailing and Dinner Tour with 3 Friends to the na Pali Coast. It was just a great experience - the crew members were nice and helpful, the sail was beautiful and the food was very nice! We saw turtles, flying Fish and even dolphins! The Na Pali Coast is a pure Beauty itself, especially After you hiked the whole Kalalau Trail. It is just a pitty that we didnt watched the Sunset at the na Pali Coast itself but close to the Harbor. Overall, it is a great Trip worth doing with just one problem - they have pepsi instead of Coca Cola!

Deluxe Morning Na Pali Snorkel/Scuba Tour

This was a great tour. Good boat that had plenty of seats scattered everywhere, and also in the shade etc. Booked this online and got a little discount. Did the 7am tour. The office front was in a complex that had other shopping stores around that you could visit while waiting. Parking is near there as well. This is about 45min ish from the East side of the Island. We came from Kapaa area. We were able to see dolphins on several occasions and followed them and enjoyed their presence. Really neat to see the group/family of dolphins. They had sodas and drink on board, with pretzels they gave us for snacks during the trip. Breakfast was pastries and drinks. Tour was of the coast, and couple waterfalls that we got to see. After the tour of coast was done, we did snorkeling for a while. Didnt get to see a lot of fishes but alot of them were near the boat since people started to toss bread/pretzel crumbs overboard to lure them. Would be great if brought fish food to attract them. They provided floating tubes, vests, fins, goggles, and mouth peices. There is a freshwater shower hose that you can use to be sprayed down after getting out of the water Lunch was sandwich line that you made , with muffins/cookies and drinks 52 people were on our trip and around 10-12 of them was sick after the trip, since this was right before the hurricane/trop storm hit hawaii (Iselle and Julio). Choppy waters. Would suggest taking medicines prior if you have motion sickness. Gorgeous coastline tour and views. The history of information was great too. NO SHOES on board period. Only barefoot, they make you put away all feet related items in a storage shelving on shore prior. So dont worry about feetware and items. Not needed period. Lots of picture opportunities, good crew and staff. Very great. Credit card payers sign the reciept near the end of the trip . Tips box/chest is near the food area or can tip on credit card reciept. Didnt do the scuba part since that is an extra charge. This is done during the snorkeling session. I recommend bringing towels/sunglasses and sunblock. Anti nausea medicines prior. Lots of people that threw up have never thrown up either. They have plenty of vomit bags if needed. They have bathrooms on board as well, clean boat with plenty of seats/shade. Safe safe trip. Very organized and well ran operation. Check in on yelp at store to get a free tshirt (as of Aug 2014),it they still have that promo. Stay hydrated! Phones actually do work still on boat since the boat is not that far offshore. Was able to apple video chat with family during boat ride which was neat. Had AT&T. They had sodas/local guava flavored drinks, alcohol as well.

Highly recommended. I have lived on Kaua'i for 11 years and have sailed the Na Pali coast at least once a year with visitors. It's absolutely my favorite activity. Have tried most of the companies and settled on Blue Dolphin as the best - they're very professional and safety conscious with great customer service. Took the sunset dinner cruise August 12th with 5 members of my family who were visiting from the mainland. 4 of the visitors have taken this trip previously - 1 was a first time visitor to the island. Everyone had a wonderful time and rated it a 5 star activity/cruise. Captain was Chad and crew were Danny and Joe. They were great. I'll be back when the next visitors arrive later this year!

What a refreshing change to encounter such a professional team with top notch customer service! We took the catamaran tour of the Na Pali Coast. We were not able to do any snorkeling due to poor weather conditions, but the trip itself was great! We saw lots of sea life and breathtaking views all with great info shared by our captain. The crew was exceptionally friendly, safety-minded, and beyond helpful. Breakfast ad lunch were delicious as were the cocktails later in the day!

The boat ride was spectacular and overall smooth, my sister who normally gets sick managed to stay together by sitting near the back. I enjoyed riding atop the front catamaran hull. The drinks were a nice plus and the food was tasty and delicious.

My family of four enjoyed the tour up the Napali Coast on the Blue Dolphin catamaran. Surf was choppy which made for a bumpy ride up but we had taken Bodine and did not suffer motion sickness. Best to take the first dose the night before and second dose an hour before you depart. We didn't snorkel because the water conditions were murky after the hurricane threats. Still we saw several sea turtles, a Monk seal, flying fish and a school of Dolphins. The crew took us further up the coast to point out various waterfalls and movie set locations. A nice family outing.

We took our 5 and 7 year old boys on the afternoon tour and it was terrific! On top of great snorkeling and sites, the crew went above and beyond! I've worked tourism, and these guys KNOW customer service! The attention to safety and fun for everyone was terrific! Would recommend this company to anyone.

Not a relaxing sunset cruise

If you’re considering the sunset cruise, you need to know what you’re getting into. This is NOT going to be a relaxing ride. The tour lasts almost 5 hours…over rocky waters. The bar does not open until about two hours into the cruise, the boats engine is LOUD and essentially runs the entire time. It’s a long way to the Napali coast from the harbor and the ride can get a little rough. I saw a couple people get VERY seasick, struggle to carry/eat their food, and I should mention it started raining on us toward the end (it goes from very warm to very cold and fast). The crew is fab and so attentive and I really do not mean to slam this cruise. I just think it should be advertised as more of an “adventure” than a sunset cruise with cocktails…this is an intense afternoon that can be fun with the right expectations.

The crew is AMAZING: Captain Kai, Captain J-Sea, and Nicole. I would give 5 stars to them in a heartbeat. I am giving 4 stars because my husband and I were very seasick, which obviously tainted our experience. We've done a catamaran cruise in Maui and we learned just how different the waters in Kauai can be! We went at a very windy time in April, so we were hitting 10 ft swells for most of the ride. We took Dramamine an hour before and Captain Kai was very clear about how the 30mph winds would turn this into the most adventurous dinner cruise we'd ever experience and offered anyone who didn't want to go during this windy time an opportunity to reschedule their cruise for a later day. The crew was forthcoming, honest, enthusiastic, and so kind. Without them running around and checking on people, offering everyone ice cubes and tips for a more comfortable experience, this would have been a completely different boat ride. I am so grateful to all of them. They deserve an award! The coast itself is stunning. If you aren't worried about seasickness, the view is absolutely worth it. We saw a perfect rainbow and breaching whales and even spinner dolphins!! The luau dinner (which we opted to pack up and eat later) was delicious. Cookies were provided for dessert and my husband enjoyed the Mai Tai's! I would recommend this to people who know their seasickness levels or who can schedule during a less windy season. 4 hours is a long commitment if you are someone who gets seasick. We were really glad we didn't bring our 5 year old, but cannot thank the crew enough for making a rocky ride as comfortable as possible. They make every passenger feel like a priority.

This was our 3rd visit to Kauai in the past 9 years and our 3rd attempt to see the Napali Coast. One time before we had a boat tour canceled for stormy weather, and another time a helicopter tour for the same reason. This time we were lucky to have nice weather and successful boat tour! The 3 person crew on our boat were phenomenal - so funny, friendly, helpful, informative! We took the sightseeing sunset tour with dinner. Other than the views, we learned a lot of history and general info about sights we passed. Got to see a ton of spinner dolphins at one point that we stopped briefly to watch. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages were plentiful on the way out, and alcoholic beverages available on the way back + dinner. Guests must know that even with the best of weather the coast waters are rough in at least some places - there is no way around it. No one in our group got sick, but there were several motion sick passengers on board. The crew handled it so well, and certainly is accustomed to it. They definitely made the whole experience even better!

We got up close and personal - but not too close - to about 5 green sea turtles. The two spots we visited were great, the 1st was a hangout for turtles and the 2nd a reef closer to shore schooling with fish... We really loved this trip and the great sea life we saw, and enjoyed Davey and Dave as our guides.

So nice to get up close and personal...none of this 50 people to a boat business. Very knowledgeable staff. JC and Jon were amazing! Found the whales right away and shared some very interesting facts on the trip. Highly recommend!

The most popular way to experience the Na Pali Coast. We will take you on the most exciting day while on vacation! Enjoy playful dolphins, green sea turtles & tropical fish. With lots of photo opportunities, you will encounter the breathtaking Na Pali cliffs, go under waterfalls & inside sea caves (weather permitting).

We stop to either swim or snorkel, gear & instructions are provided for you, with a Breakfast Sandwich (starting October 1, 2023) and soft drinks to end the day!

Passenger safety is our top priority. No Expecting Mothers, those with bad backs, shoulders, knees, or hips, anyone who has recently undergone any surgeries, and those with mobility limitations. All passengers must be suited for possible rough waters and able to hold on and move about the vessel without concern. Children must be over the age of 7 years old. Maximum weight limit of 250 lbs per person may not be exceeded. Sorry, there is no smoking permitted on the vessel, on the pier, or near the office per state law. All activities are conditions permitting with the Captain’s discretion. The Nā Pali Coast is not a guarantee. Tours may reroute due to ocean conditions. If you are prone to seasickness or not sure, PLEASE take something in advance, Bonine or Dramamine.  Everyone is different…Don’t hesitate, medicate!

All snorkeling passengers will be required to have the upper body strength to pull themselves out of the water with a small marine ladder. Passengers who exceed 250 pounds are more at risk if a snorkeling incident occurs. Crew members may have difficulty getting said passengers back onboard.

To modify, reschedule, or cancel ANY tour and receive a full refund, YOU MUST CALL KST at 808-335-5309 within the following timeframes:

• 24 Hours prior to tour check-in for parties of 1-4 passengers;
• 72 Hours prior to tour check-in for parties of 5-9 passengers;
• 7 Days prior to tour check-in for parties of 10 and more passengers;
• 30 Days prior to tour check-in for Exclusive Private Charters.

No shows are charged 100%.  No refunds for non-disclosures of health concerns, re-routes, non-snorkel or sea sickness. Everything is conditions permitting with the Captain’s discretion.
