There will be three main ways to buy tickets for the eight added shows:

• U2.com Subscriber Presale powered by Ticketmaster Request — tap HERE to request tickets. Request window is open now through Monday, May 15 at 4:00 AM Pacific / 7:00 AM Eastern.
• Verified Fan Presale — In order to accommodate the high demand of Verified Fan registrations already received, a lottery-style selection will be used to give a limited number of previously waitlisted fans access to the newly announced December dates. There will not be a new registration for these shows.

Fans should also be aware of the following important information:

• Tickets will reflect all-in pricing : This means the ticket price listed for ‘U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere in Las Vegas’ shows is the full out-of-pocket price, inclusive of taxes and fees.
• General admission floor tickets will be restricted from transfer : In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, GA floor tickets for U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere will be restricted from transfer. They may only be resold at the original purchase price. Fans will still have the flexibility to sell their tickets should their plans change. Those who purchase tickets that are restricted from transfer and are no longer able to attend their show will be able to sell their tickets at the price they paid using the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange. How to Get Tickets to the U2.com Subscriber Presale powered by Ticketmaster Request

U2.com Subscribers* will have first access to request tickets through Ticketmaster Request, open until Monday, May 15 at 4:00 AM Pacific / 7:00 AM Eastern — tap HERE to get started.

All U2.com paid subscribers are eligible to submit a ticket request for the eight (8) newly added shows (Dec 1–16), even if you have requested or secured tickets for previously announced dates (Sept 29–Nov 4).

During the request period, U2.com subscribers can sign into their Ticketmaster account, pick up to five (5) shows and rank in order of preference, request up to four (4) tickets per show, and select the type of tickets preferred.

To complete their request, fans will enter payment details and will only be charged if the request can be fulfilled. If confirmed, requests will only be fulfilled for one (1) show and up to four (4) tickets. Note that your card will be charged once registration closes if your ticket request can be fulfilled.  

Fans will be notified via email of their request status on Wednesday, May 17 and, if fulfilled, will be provided a link to claim their tickets.

*This program is only open to U2.com paid subscribers. If you are not a paid U2.com subscriber and submit a request, your request will be removed from consideration.

What is Ticketmaster Request?

Ticketmaster Request is a simple way to request tickets to popular shows, so you don’t have to compete in a first-come, first-served sale. If tickets that match your request are available, your card will be charged, and we’ll email you instructions on how to claim them.

When is the latest I can subscribe to U2.com and still qualify to take part in the U2.com Subscriber Presale powered by Ticketmaster Request?

The request window for the U2.com Subscriber Presale powered by Ticketmaster Request is open until Monday, May 15 at 4:00 AM Pacific / 7:00 AM Eastern.

Anyone subscribing ahead of that time, will be able to place a request for tickets until the window closes at 4:00 AM Pacific / 7:00 AM Eastern on May 15. Please note: Not everyone who submits a request is guaranteed tickets.

In order to accommodate the high demand of Verified Fan registrations already received, a lottery-style selection will be used to give a limited number of previously waitlisted fans access to the newly announced December dates. 

Fans will receive an email by the evening of Wednesday, May 17 letting them know whether they have been selected to participate in the Verified Fan Presale and will receive a unique access code.

Note, if you previously received a unique access code, you are not eligible for the chance to be invited to the Presale for the newly added shows.

What is Ticketmaster Verified Fan?

Verified Fan helps artists get more of their tickets into the hands of concertgoers. Verified Fan uses advance registration to help filter out buyers looking to resell tickets for profit, and instead get them into the hands of fans who want to go to the show. And while it doesn’t guarantee that all Verified Fans will get tickets, it does significantly block bots and professional resellers from competing against fans for tickets during the sale.

Reminder: Access to the Verified Fan Presale does not guarantee tickets. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. So, if you get a code, be sure to join the presale promptly at the time stated in your email for the best chance to get tickets.

What is the ticket limit.

Fans are eligible to purchase up to four (4) tickets for one (1) show between December 1–16 AND up to four (4) tickets to one (1) show between September 29–November 4.

How will tickets be delivered?

All tickets will be delivered as SafeTix mobile tickets.

What is all-in pricing?

This means the ticket price listed is the full out-of-pocket price, inclusive of taxes and fees.

What does it mean if a ticket is restricted from transfer?

When tickets are restricted from transfer, it means that the transfer feature is disabled to prevent tickets from being resold for a profit.

If you purchase tickets that are restricted from transfer and can no longer attend a show, you can sell your tickets at the price you paid using the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange .

What is Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange?

Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange allows fans to sell their tickets to other fans at the price they paid, including fees and taxes. Event Organizers choose to use the Ticket Exchange to protect fans who can no longer make the show. It also gives fans looking for tickets the chance to purchase them at the original price.

Sphere Entertainment Co. and Live Nation today announced dates for  ‘U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere’ , a first-of-its-kind live music experience which will see the world’s biggest rock band launch the world’s most cutting-edge venue, Sphere at The Venetian in Las Vegas. The long-awaited confirmation of dates comes after  U2 dropped the ultimate sneak peek – to a mass global audience – with  a Super Bowl commercial  back in February which let fans know that the band will return to the stage later this year for a special run of shows marking their first live outing in four years.

TICKETS:  Tickets for this run of shows will be in high demand, therefore Verified Fan will be used to ensure more tickets get into the hands of fans who want to go to the show, not buyers looking to resell them. 

• Fans can register now for the Verified Fan presale  HERE . Fans who previously signed up for Verified Fan for U2 are automatically registered for the opportunity to participate in the presale.
• Registration for Verified Fan will close Wednesday, April 26 at 10am ET.
• Fans who are selected to receive an access code will be able to participate in the Verified Fan presale starting Thursday, April 27.

Tickets start at $140 and will reflect all-in pricing. This means the ticket price listed is the full out-of-pocket price inclusive of taxes and fees. The larger capacity at Sphere allows for 60% of tickets to be priced under $300 and there will also be a limited number of premium priced tickets per show.

U2.COM PRESALE :  U2.com subscribers will have first access to tickets through  Ticketmaster   Request , open now until Wednesday, April 26 at 10am ET. During this period, U2.com subscribers can sign into their Ticketmaster account, pick up to 3 shows and rank in order of preference, request up to 4 tickets and select the type of tickets preferred. To complete their request, fans will enter payment details and will only be charged if the request can be fulfilled. Requests will only be fulfilled for up to one show and up to 4 tickets. Fans will be notified via email of their request status, and if fulfilled will be provided a link to claim their tickets.

GENERAL ONSALE:  If any tickets remain, they will be sold during a general onsale starting Friday, April 28 at 10am at  Ticketmaster.com . On sale times will vary, check the Ticketmaster listing for more information.

Bono and U2 will return for their residency at the Sphere this month, and tickets are still available for those looking to see the hit band at the stunning Las Vegas venue. The Irish rock band completed its first leg of 25 concerts at the Sphere between September and December last year and will complete their residency in 2024 after 40 total shows. We have everything you need to know on how to buy U2 Sphere tickets.

The 2023-2024 concert series, titled U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere, is the inaugural residency for the Sphere, a spherical music and entertainment arena near the Las Vegas Strip. The new arena boasts features such as a 16K resolution wraparound LED screen inside, seating for 17,500 patrons, 4D physical effects for audiences, and high-tech and immersive sound systems.

After completing their first 25 shows in December, U2 returns to the Sphere for 15 more performances between January and March 2024. The U2 band members performing for the residency include Bono, the Edge, and Adam Clayton, with Krezip's Bram van den Berg filling in for Larry Mullen, Jr. on the drums.

U2 Sphere 2024 tour schedule

U2 kicks off their 2024 leg at the Las Vegas Sphere on January 26. The Irish rock band will play 15 more performances before taking their final bow of the concert series on March 2. The time zone is listed in Pacific Time, local to Las Vegas. 

*The February 2 performance is a special event called U2:UV and will see the band play the Achtung Baby album in full.

How to buy tickets for U2 Sphere concert tour

U2's Sphere residency tickets have been on sale for several months, so the remaining available quantity is limited. Several concert dates have already sold all original tickets. However, original and verified resale tickets can still be purchased for most dates on platforms like Ticketmaster .

For the best prices, you may have better luck through verified resale ticket vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats . These platforms still have numerous tickets being resold for U2's 2024 Sphere residency.

How much are U2 Sphere ticket prices?

Tickets to see U2 at the Sphere are relatively expensive. However, you'll generally find better prices on the band's weekday Wednesday and Thursday performances compared to their Friday and Saturday dates.

Original tickets to the Sphere on Ticketmaster start at about $467 for reserved seating, with general admission tickets already being completely sold out. The lowest price for an original ticket on Ticketmaster is $467 for the February 9 show. However, the lowest available price for an original ticket to the February 3 performance is $923.

Tickets on verified resale vendors are generally cheaper across all dates. On StubHub , the least expensive ticket price available is $365 for U2's Sphere concert on February 9, which is over $100 cheaper than an original ticket on Ticketmaster for the same date. Likewise, Vivid Seats ' verified resale ticket prices for February 9 start at $356.Two VIP concert and hotel packages are also available for U2's remaining performances at the Sphere in 2024. The VIP packages available through Vibee have three options that include two-night stays in a nearby hotel and premium seating at the concert. Prices for the VIP package generally start around $1700-$2,000, depending on the concert date and availability.

Who is opening for U2's tour?

The opening act for U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere 2024 concert dates is Pauli "the PSM" Lovejoy, who also opened for the band during the 2023 leg of their residency. Pauli "the PSM" Lovejoy is a musician known for songs like "I DON'T CARE" and "Milkyway."

The U2 Sphere residency is confined to the venue in Las Vegas, Nevada, so no international tour dates will be associated with this concert series due to the unique nature of the venue.

U2 Announce Sphere Las Vegas Dates. The Edge Calls it a ‘Quantum Leap Forward’

The Edge is normally reserved and immune to hyperbole when discussing U2 ‘s latest plans. But the group’s schedule in opening up Sphere in Las Vegas this September has the U2 guitarist atypically talking in grandiose terms.

“My hope is that this will be a kind of quantum leap forward in the sense of what a concert can be,” he tells Rolling Stone.

The group will kick off its Achtung Baby Live at Sphere Las Vegas residency on Sept. 29, with additional shows taking place on Sept. 30 and Oct. 5, 7, and 8. One day after the residency was announced, seven more concerts were scheduled for Oct. 11, 13, 14, 18, 20, 21, and 25. And a few weeks later, eight more shows were added on Dec. 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, and 16.

U2 first heard about Sphere a little over two years ago. “We’re always on the lookout for emerging technologies in the world of concerts and audio,” says the Edge. “We heard about it, and then started asking members of our team about it. We found out that approaches had already been made in a very tentative way for us to be a part of a possible launch.”

The band is a natural fit for Sphere, given its boundary-pushing live-music experience of Zoo TV and PopMart in the Nineties, and more recently with the U2 360° Tour and Songs of Innocence / Experience tours. But those shows all took place at venues designed for sports. “You’re battling far-from-optimal acoustics in these place, since they haven’t been designed for sound,” says the Edge. “It’s just a constant battle to overcome the coloration that the venue gives to the audio. The gap between what you want to put across and what you actually put across is often huge.”

“It really gives you the opportunity to bring people back in time or to worlds that are completely computer-generated, but completely believable,” says the Edge. “It’s a new genre of immersive experience, almost like a new art form. The fun part for us is this phase we’re in now, where we’re trying to dream up what we will be doing with this technology. It’s just pure imagination.”

All-in ticket prices start at $140, and 60 percent of the seats will be under $300. For the new shows in December, U2.com subscribers can submit a ticket request, with the onsite opening today, May 12, and ending May 15 at 7 a.m. ET. Fans can also register for a chance to obtain tickets through Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan program, with details set to go out the evening of May 17. A limited number of tickets will be available during a general onsale set to start May 19 at 12 p.m. ET. You’ll also be able to find on VividSeats.com .

“We’re trying our best to be as fair and respectful to our fans as we can be,” says the Edge. “We’re also spreading out the ticket costs so that there are some affordable ones. The most-sought-after tickets will be nontransferable. Inevitably, some will wind up on the secondary market. There’s not a huge lot we can do about that.”

Opening night comes just a few months after the 30th anniversary of Zooropa. “I think there will be some nods to Zooropa, ” says the Edge. “In our minds, the tours [for Achtung Baby and Zooropa ] blended into one. But I think Achtung Baby will be the main focus.”

U2 Announce Dates for 2023 ‘Achtung Baby’ Las Vegas Residency

U2  just announced five shows in Las Vegas as part of their new "U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere Las Vegas" concert residency this fall.

The Irish rock band will open the new sphere-shaped music and entertainment arena Sphere at The Venetian Resort with the program based on their classic 1991 album, Achtung Baby . The residency was already announced; the dates are newly revealed. (More dates are likely to be added, Rolling Stone  said.)

U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere is the band's latest ambitious creative project and will see them work once again with longtime U2 creative collaborator and show director Willie Williams, a press release explains.

It follows the huge success of U2's  Joshua Tree 30th anniversary stadium tour which was seen by over 3.2 million fans worldwide and their 2018 "eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE" indoor tour which played to a combined audience of 1 million across Europe and North America.

"U2 hasn't played live since December 2019 and we need to get back on stage and see the faces of our fans again," the band said on Monday (April 24). "And what a unique stage they're building for us out there in the desert. … We're the right band, Achtung Baby  the right album, and Sphere the right venue to take the live experience of music to the next level."

The U2 members added, "That's what U2's been trying to do all along with our satellite stages and video installations, most memorably on the 'ZOO TV Tour,' which ended in Tokyo 30 years ago this fall."

The Sphere in Las Vegas really is a 'quantum leap' for live music: Inside the first shows

LAS VEGAS — Last September, U2 changed the concert experience as we knew it.

On a stage designed as a turntable, the illustrious rockers broke into “Zoo Station” and the concrete walls towering over them trembled and broke apart.

Or at least it looked that way thanks to a massive 160,000-square-foot wraparound LED screen.

As a static backdrop hissed, Bono roared, “I’m ready. Ready for what’s next.”

It was an apt proclamation for the first concert at Las Vegas’ new toy, the Sphere , an imposing domed venue on the Strip that promises to be the next frontier in live entertainment through design and technology.

Since September, Phish and Dead & Company have also had turns at the Sphere, and The Eagles today announced their run will start Sept. 20. This prompted us to ask if the $2.3 billion venue is really the "quantum leap forward" as The Edge described it to USA TODAY before that first show, or another Vegas landmark where you can take a spectacular photo?

After seeing all three bands at the Sphere and talking with fans and stakeholders, we can say it turns the mundane into magical.

What is inside the Las Vegas Sphere?

On the Vegas skyline, the Sphere is the rotund counter to its towering neighbors The Venetian and Wynn Las Vegas.

It's the size of two city blocks and is taller than a football field is long. The Sphere has the seating capacity of an arena with all of the jaw-dropping wonder of a "Star Wars" ride at a Disney theme park, felt from the moment fans enter the futuristic atrium.

Built over four years, the Sphere is a uniquely fashioned venu e with immersive sound from 167,000 individual speakers installed behind a 160,000-square-foot (about 3.5 acres) LED screen with stunning 16k resolution.

The encompassing visuals are dizzying in the best way, whether they're the Elvis-inspired video creating a swooping feeling of movement during U2's "Even Better Than the Real Thing," the "scaffolding" that parted at the start of Dead & Company's “Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo” to display a quaint row of Haight-Ashbury houses then a hovering image of Earth's atmosphere or Phish's amber-lit floating fabric pods during "Leaves."

The "beamforming" sound technology in the venue allows sound to be controlled and targeted directly to certain sections, which Phish employed to head trippy effect. The absence of sound bleed from inside the dome into the concourse is another extraordinary element. Take a step out of the seating area and hear nothing but ambient background. Step back into the venue and feel an aural bear hug.

Why the Sphere is special for musicians: 'It's not just plug and play'

As Dead & Company frontman Bob Weir told USA TODAY in an email, the Sphere unlocks creative boundaries to "take storytelling in live performance to the level of opera – maybe even beyond. U2 and Phish got the ball rolling. Now it’s our turn."

Because it can take up to a year to create specialized content to accompany live productions, the Sphere is utilizing the residency model – ideally at least eight shows – as its blueprint.

The U2 extravaganza, which found the veteran hitmakers performing all of their 1991 album, “Achtung Baby,” along with a set of hits, extended from a rollout of five shows to 40. By its March 2 finale, about 800,000 fans experienced its marvel.

“It’s definitely not a touring venue. It’s not just plug and play,” said Josephine Vaccarello, executive vice president, live, for MSG Entertainment, who oversees concert bookings for the Sphere. “We need an act that has the fan base and the following, the artist that has the creative vision for what we can do with these creative tools and the journey they want to take their fans on.”

Dead & Company, which has dates through Aug. 10 , demonstrated the nimbleness of the Sphere's technology during its May 25 show when a camera atop the venue's roof captured a photo of the full moon. The image was quickly uploaded during the concert and appeared, along with a close-up of Weir, during “Black Peter.”

"Live concerts have always been the ultimate expression for music, and part of the joy of creating shows is making the most of what’s available in order to build a world with and around the music," John Mayer, Dead & Company guitarist and singer, said in an email to USA TODAY. "Having the Sphere as this giant new set of tools is a spectacular opportunity for musicians to tell a deeper, more immersive story. I’m honored to be one of the first explorers of this new frontier."

The Sphere offers an experience that's 'completely different' for fans

U2 fan Alejandro Familiar attended three of the band's shows, twice among the general admission throng on the floor and once from the steep 400-level.

The Las Vegas resident is a devotee of the Irish rockers, whom he's seen at least seven times in stadiums, which made the 20,000 concert capacity at the Sphere a relatively intimate experience – and one that enthralled him.

"The technology is crazy , the sound is completely different than anything I've experienced in every other venue. It's just a whole immersive experience. (The band) can make you feel like you're in space, at a beach, they can transport you anywhere," he said. "You're used to going to a venue and looking at the band and maybe the guitars on stage for a minute, but there's no other place to look. Now, the band is what you pay the least attention to because of everything around you, but I don't think that's a bad thing."

Familiar surmised that some U2 fans – like himself – went to multiple shows so they could focus on different elements of the concert each time, as well as from various vantage points. (Be aware that the visuals can be obstructed by an overhang above the 100-level from about rows 24-37. Tickets are categorized as limited view.)

"It was a different experience sitting up top, like being in a huge movie theater. The band looks small from there and the stage looks really small, but the sound and visuals, that's what makes it," he said. "And you can be listening to a song and then they'll blast (images of) giant Bonos and the band on the screen and you go, 'Ah, OK, there they are.'"

Sphere challenges: 'We'll continue to learn'

Jennifer Koester, president and chief operating officer of Sphere, said nearly a million guests traveled through the venue by the fiscal third quarter that ended March 31. Yet some skeptics remain.

For those who wonder just what the big deal is about a venue with groovy technology , extremely vertical seating and pristine sound, it’s difficult to verbalize how transformative it is to feel, see and hear a show at the Sphere.

But as Vaccarello summarized, “Seeing it on videos is not the same as experiencing it in person. Once people experience it, they fall in love because it touches all of the senses.”

Along with the indisputable wonders of the Sphere, though, some operational hiccups left some guests with a frustrated impression.

At several U2 concerts and during Phish’s opening show , the ingress left fans crammed on the pedestrian bridge from inside the Venetian to the Sphere’s entry for 45 to 90 minutes. The first night of Dead & Company, the men’s bathroom lines snaked into the atrium.

These “pain points” as Koester calls them, were addressed by directing fans to other entry areas outside the venue for U2, opening doors earlier for Phish the second night of their residency and reversing one of the women’s restrooms – not quite as busy at a Dead show – to accommodate men.

The venue has also worked to offer reasonable parking options , including valet and space for limos, taxis and tour group buses. Several hundred spaces are available on site at the Sphere, with concert parking starting around $50 (it's $18 for the ongoing Sphere Experience with Darren Aronofsky’s breathtaking “Postcard From Earth” film ). The self-park garages at the adjoining Venetian and Palazzo are a minimum of $23 (event rates can vary), though casino visitors holding a certain level of player's club card can park for free. The rideshare scene is typical of any major event, with significant congestion at peak entry and exit times.

As next-level as the Sphere is, it manages logistical issues with customer experiences faced by every event venue.

“Those are all adjustments,” Koester said. “And we’ll continue to learn.”

What will the Sphere be in five years?

Only live event ticket buyers will experience the sensory engulfment found inside of the Sphere. But anyone can gape at the continually glistening digital exosphere, whether they are a photo-snapping tourist or one of the many airplane passengers scrambling for their phones on the descent to capture the newest landmark.

The Sphere's exosphere has shown playful emojis , glaring eyeballs , logos of its musical inhabitants, adorable memes , advertising and, coming July 4, student art . Only the truly apathetic can't be impressed.

The Sphere will also soon emit sound from its skeleton , an addition that has piqued the curiosity of some and pre-irritated others. The feeling among Sphere brass is that Las Vegas is already a cauldron of sound, so what's a little more?

But as eye-catching as the exosphere is, the future of the venue is all about what happens inside the dome.

The initial trio of Sphere bands leaned toward a middle-aged demographic, and the fourth, the Eagles , will park at the venue for eight shows beginning Sept. 20. Tickets are on sale at 1 p.m. ET June 21 via ticketmaster.com.

But there are plans to diversify the offerings and announce a few more performers, as well as other age-spanning multimedia events this year.

“We’re talking to a huge variety of artists. We’re just scratching the surface,” said Vaccarello.

One future ambition is being able to “flip” the venue within a single day; perhaps have a showing Postcard From Earth” – which plays most days there isn’t a concert at the venue – during the day and hold a live event that night.

The staging of the NHL Draft June 28-29 will mark the first live broadcast from the Sphere. Even corporate activity has emerged, with Hewlett Packard Enterprise scheduled to hold its keynote address at the venue June 18.

Koester knows that for the Sphere to thrive, constant movement is paramount.

“I go back to the premise upon which this was built, that this is a venue that is a disruptor,” she said. “The hope is that I can sit here in five years and say, we’re still ahead of everyone else and are continuing to evolve and push the boundaries with technology. I wake up every day thinking about that.”

Does the Sphere live up to the hype?

The future of the Sphere is unquestionably intriguing. But its nine months of existence, it has proven to be a game changer for live experiences Its bewitching presence has convinced most cynics that this flashy attraction on the Strip is more than a colorful orb with impressive sound and visual technology.

“Everyone is pushing the boundaries of the capabilities of that venue,” said Koester. “I was at U2 opening night – I’ve been going to see them since I was 13 – and it ruined me for every other concert."

General on-sale begins at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 21.

Who is performing at The Sphere in 2024?

U2 performed at The Sphere in a residency that ended in early March 2024. Next, the jam band Phish became the second music act to play Sphere. Their four-show residency ran April 18-21.

Members of Dead & Company, a spinoff of the Grateful Dead featuring former members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart along with singer and guitarist John Mayer, are performing Sphere residency called Dead Forever. The residency, which runs from May 16 to July 13, will begin a year after their final tour made a stop in Phoenix .

The Eagles will perform at The Sphere in September and October 2024.

What is The Sphere in Las Vegas?

Described on its website as "a next-generation entertainment medium that is redefining the future of live entertainment," Sphere is an immersive venue that uses haptics (seats that can move and vibrate), atmospheric simulations and visual effects to "transport audiences to places real and imagined." It opened September 2023 just off the Las Vegas Strip .

See the 366-foot-tall venue from the outside at night and it captivates people for its ability to project images from its exterior shell (also called the Exosphere) containing 580,000 square feet of LED lights, whether it's the Earth, the surface of Mars, a blinking eye, or an emoji. It developed a reputation for causing traffic gridlock since the projections began in 2023 during the Fourth of July.

What does the Sphere in Las Vegas do?

The Sphere Experience, the main attraction inside the Sphere, is a two-part attraction. The first part, guided by a humanoid robot called Aura, includes a 360-degree avatar capture and a 50-foot-high holographic installation.

The second part is a viewing of an immersive film called "Postcard From Earth" by director Darren Aronofsky on Sphere's largest, highest-definition screen. "Postcard From Earth" is described as part nature documentary, part science fiction movie.

Sphere has also hosted concerts, with U2 inaugurating it with a 40-show residency that launched on Sept. 29, 2023. Sporting events are coming as well: UFC President Dana White said in February that he booked Sphere for UFC 306, scheduled for Sept. 14, 2024.

Is the Sphere worth going to?

Sphere has attracted an assortment of highly positive and highly negative reviews from travelers.

It has a user rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars on Google. One user, Phillipe Beaumier , called Sphere "a once in a lifetime experience" and described the immersive audio and visual as "so incredible, you feel like you are part of the travel!"

Tripadvisor users gave Sphere more mixed reviews, with an overall rating of 3 out of 5 stars. Most of its bad reviews were critical of the message of the "Postcard From Earth" film in the Sphere Experience.

A one-star review from a Tripadvisor user named Kathryn W. expressed disappointment with the Sphere Experience's humanoid robots and how "a couple of robots that are comparable to (Amazon's virtual assistant) Alexa can't answer a question." Kathryn added that the moving seats "could be mistaken for someone kicking the back of your chair."

Eagles Announce Eight-Show Residency At Las Vegas’ Sphere

Eagles will become the fourth-ever band to play Las Vegas’ Sphere with a newly announced eight-show residency. The four-weekend run of concerts will follow Sphere engagements by U2 , Phish , and Dead & Company , the latter of which is ongoing and will run through August.

The seminal country-rock chart-toppers will take over the $2 billion leap forward in concert technology beginning on Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st. Eagles will play two concerts a weekend, every weekend on Friday and Saturday through October 18th and 19th. The residency is part of Eagles’  The Long Goodbye “ official farewell tour ” which started in 2023 and is expected to last through 2025.

Tickets for the Eagles Sphere residency start at $175 and utilize all-in pricing, meaning the listed price includes all taxes and fees. Fans can register for the artist pre-sale here to help keep tickets in the hands of fans. Following years of construction, Sphere opened in fall 2023 with a 40-show residency by  U2 celebrating its album  Achtung Baby . The Grateful Dead offshoot has been continuously adding dates to their stay but now appears to have a move-out date before Eagles swoop in and take over.

The Eagles are touching down in Las Vegas.

The long-running rock band announced Thursday that it will play eight shows at Sphere, the $2-billion venue with the wraparound video screen just off the Vegas Strip, over four weekends this fall starting Sept. 20. Tickets for the concerts, the last of which is scheduled for Oct. 19, are set to go on sale June 21 (though presale access will be available to various groups as early as June 18).

The Sphere residency ostensibly comes as part of the Eagles’ so-called Long Goodbye, a farewell tour that launched in September — seven years after the death of co-founder Glenn Frey — and stopped at Inglewood’s Kia Forum for four nights in January.

The Eagles, with some help from special guest J.D. Souther, began their Long Goodbye to L.A. audiences with a sold-out show at the band’s ‘home field.’

“Welcome to whatever this is,” singer Don Henley said with a smile to greet the crowd at the first of those Forum gigs. The band has said it will keep adding dates according to audience demand.

The Eagles will become the fourth musical act to play Sphere following U2 , which opened the building last year, Phish and Dead & Company, which is in the middle of a 30-show residency set to run through mid-August.

Last week the venue made news when a Phish fan said he’d received a letter from Sphere prohibiting him from entering the venue after he posted a video of himself taking a bong hit during a concert. Sphere later said it had rescinded the ban.

The Eagles are the latest musical act to announce a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The new venue has been attracting some of the biggest names in rock ever since it opened in 2023, and its latest addition certainly fits that description.

The rock band is scheduled to play eight shows later this year—at least to start with. These dates will take place across four weekends, beginning on September 21 and ending on October 19.

Tickets to the Eagles’ upcoming run of shows will go on sale starting on June 18, but only for those who register for the artist presale on the group’s website. Live Nation will hold its own presale event on June 20.

An announcement shared by the Sphere detailed that tickets to see the Eagles will begin at $175. That’s a sizable sum, but it’s also an all-inclusive figure, which means no fees will be added on top of that number.

The Eagles are all but done with touring, which they revealed in 2023. The band went on The Long Goodbye throughout last year, with dates continuing into 2024. At the moment, the group only has two non-Sphere dates on their website, and both are happening in the next few days in the Netherlands. This new residency gives fans another chance to see the rockers perform live before they hang it up.

The Sphere has now booked just four musical acts to headline residencies since it opened in 2023. U2 inaugurated the venue with their U2 Achtung Baby Live at Sphere string of concerts, which started in September 2023 and ended in March of the following year after 40 shows.

Phish followed the Irish rockers, but their residency only included four dates in April of 2024. The next group to take to the stage was Dead & Company, who launched their 30-date venture in May. The Dead Forever: Live at Sphere run will conclude in August.
