‘DWTS’ Tour Review: The Pros Become The Stars In A Jam-Packed Night Of Dancing & Entertainment

The pro dancers of 'Dancing With The Stars' are front and center on the 'DWTS' tour, and they lit up the stage in NYC with two hours of non-stop dancing on Jan. 18. Impressive!

dwts tour

If you’re a fan of  Dancing With The Stars , the live tour is something you can not miss! As someone who’s regularly been watching the show for almost ten years now, I was thrilled to check out the pros put on a live show in New York City on Jan. 18…and they did not disappoint. This year, the pros on tour are  Jenna Johnson, Sharna Burgess , Lindsay Arnold , Emma Slater , Hayley Erbert, Morgan Larson, Sasha Farber , Keo Motsepe, Artem Chigvintsev, Gleb Savchenko, Alan Bersten  and  Brandon Armstrong,  and seeing them dance in person is even more unbelievable than watching it on television. Plus, they were joined by season 25 winner,  Jordan Fisher , who literally looked like he was one of the professionals, and third place finisher  Frankie Muniz , who held his own onstage.

Aside from a 15 minute intermission, the show was non-stop dancing for nearly two hours, full of dozens of costume changes and all different styles of dance. The set production was minimal, keeping the focus on what the dancers were doing onstage. While Frankie’s dance skills may not have exactly matched up with the pros and Jordan, he took it in stride, and provided comedic relief throughout the show. The chemistry between the cast members was electric, and one of the standout moments was in the second act, when engaged couple, Sasha and Emma, performed a romantic number together.

While some of the biggest names from the most recent season of  DWTS , like  Val Chmerkovskiy , Maks Chmerkovskiy , Peta Murgatroyd ,  Witney Carson   and  Mark Ballas , are not on the tour this year, there was no lack of star power on the stage. The dedication and talent of these dancers was always obvious, but seeing it in person takes things to a whole new level. It’s safe to say they  definitely lit up the night!

HollywoodLifers , have you checked out the  DWTS tour?! What did you think!?

The 'Dancing With the Stars' Tour Sounds Especially Amazing This Year

In short, the tour is basically everything you love about the series on stage. Starting on December 15 , the winter show will feature countless dance routines from a group of select Dancing With the Stars pros from season 27 . As the website notes, there will be all kinds of different numbers — from ballroom and jazz to modern and hip-hop. The troupe will make stops in over 60 cities and end with one final performance on March 9, 2019 in Thousand Oaks, California.

This year, there are 11 confirmed dancers going on tour at the moment: Hayley Erbert , Jenna Johnson , Witney Carson , Emma Slater , Britt Stewart , Brandon Armstrong , Gleb Savchenko , Val Chmerkovskiy , Artem Chigvintsev , Sasha Farber , and Alan Bersten . Though not all of your season 27 celebrity favorites will be hopping from city to city, the show announced during the finale that Bobby Bones , Juan Pablo Di Pace , Milo Manheim , Joe Amabile , and John Schneider would be joining the the cast.

So, how do you buy tickets to this amazingness? The best way is to visit TicketMaster.com , which will give you the full range of prices, seats, and dates available. Tickets range from $45 to $500+ for VIP packages.

But seriously, you really should hurry if you're thinking about going. With the holidays right around the corner, who knows how quickly these shows will sell out.

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Tour 2017/2018 Cast: Which Pros Are Hitting The Road?

Google Follow

The Dancing with the Stars tour for 2017/2018 will be hitting the road for a string of shows around the U.S. at the end of the year, and now the cast of professional dancers that will be showing off their moves across the country has officially been revealed.

The all-important list of dancers was officially revealed by People this week, as the outlet confirmed that dancing this year on the “ Dancing with the Stars Live!: Light Up the Night” tour are as follows.

  • Witney Carson
  • Keo Motsepe
  • Emma Slater
  • Artem Chigvinstev
  • Sharna Burgess
  • Gleb Savchenko
  • Lindsay Arnold
  • Alan Bersten
  • Jenna Johnson
  • Hayley Erbert
  • Brandon Armstrong
  • Sasha Farber

The site noted that the cast of professional dancers, who are either part of the main DWTS cast or in the dance troupe who perform at the start of every show, are subject to change, though it’s pretty likely that all those pictured will be hitting the road at the end of the year.

Notably staying home this year are DWTS favorites and pro couple Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, who likely skipped out on the tour with their ABC co-stars in order to spend more time with their adorable 9-month-old son, Shai.

The married couple has been showing off their son across their various social media pages with sweet photos and videos since his birth in January.

Maksim’s brother Val Chmerkovskiy is also a notable absentee from the “ Dancing with the Stars Live!: Light Up the Night” tour, as is longtime professional Cheryl Burke who returned to the dancefloor this year to dance with former NFL star Terrell Owens.

But while there are some notably absent faces when it comes to the DWTS tour 2017/2018 cast list, there’s no doubting that there’s some serious talent within the group. The cast has a few winning trophies between them.

The most recent win comes from Emma Slater, who took home the mirrorball trophy with Rashad Jennings during Season 24 earlier this year.

But while most of the cast is currently competing on Season 25, airing on ABC Monday nights, the dancers won’t actually be getting too much time to rest after the current round of the ABC show ends and a winner is officially crowned. The new tour will be kicking off in Charlotte, North Carolina, on December 30.

The DWTS tour 2018 will then hit a number of cities around the U.S. before ending up back in Los Angeles, California – which is where the show is filmed – at the Microsoft Theatre for their final performance on March 18, 2018.

Tickets for the huge tour are available now and even include pricey $599 packages that allow die-hard DWTS fans to meet the cast before the show. A full list of tour dates can be found at DWTSTour.com .

Dancing with the Stars Season 25 airs on Monday nights on ABC. The “ Dancing with the Stars Live!: Light Up the Night” tour will begin in Charlotte on December 30.

"I'm going to say we don't need magic because our dancing is magic," Lynch said about her competition.

McKeon received a taped message from her The Facts of Life costars Mindy Cohn , Kim Fields and Lisa Whelchel while on the GMA stage. "They're amazing. They're my sisters for a long, long time. For them to do that, wow it's awesome," an emotional McKeon said.

Model Ren said she was doing the show for a specific reason. "It was my mom's favorite show and she passed away about four years ago form cancer, so I'm doing this in her honor," she said.

Like McKeon, Di Pace got a message from his costars. Fuller House's Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin appeared in a taped message to offer their costar some advice. "I just want to tell you be yourself because we know what an amazing guy you are and we want America to just see you shine," Cameron Bure said.

"So, go out there and just be amazing," Sweetin added.

"I love them so much," Di Pace said. "We are so tight, these girls are amazing."

"Just like this girl, Juan!" Di Pace's partner Cheryl Burke said.

Burke is back in the ballroom after sitting out the all athletes season and new DWTS troupe member Brandon Armstrong will make his partner debut this year.

Glazer, a comic known for her roasting abilities, targeted host Tom Bergeron . "Tom, you're like Dustin Hoffman , but a Men's Warehouse version. You're like a Dustin Offman. I love you Tom…You only roast the ones you love and I love Tom," she said.

"It's a long season and I've got a long memory, George!" Bergeron joked to George Stephanopoulos .

Umstead is the first legally blind contestant. "I threw it out there in the universe and i never thought it'd come back and attach to me. It's a big challenge and I'm lucky to have Artem there with me," she said.

As for Retton, who was so dedicated to her gymnastics she slept in her leotard back in the 1980s, said she might just sleep in her dance sequins.

"I might! Sasha's so tough, he may make me," she joked about her partner.

This isn't the only Dancing With the Stars series hitting the airwaves this fall. ABC is launching Dancing With the Stars Juniors on Sunday, Oct. 7. Judging the pint-sized celebrity kids are Mandy Moore (the choreographer, not the singer-actress), Olympian Adam Rippon (he won Dancing With the Stars ' athletes season) and Val Chmerkovskiy (he's also competing with McKeon in season 27 of the main series).

Dancing With the Stars premieres Monday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. on ABC.

'Dancing with the Stars' tour bus crashes in Ames

A tour bus transporting members of the “Dancing with the Stars: Live! Light Up The Night” cast and crew was involved in a multi-car crash Monday evening.

According to a news release from Iowa State University, the crash occurred Monday afternoon while en route to Ames.

A major pile-up in Ames involving 50 to 70 cars, buses and semi-trucks forced Interstate Highway 35 southbound and northbound lanes to close Monday during heavy snowfall in central Iowa.

The show, which was supposed to be held at Iowa State's Stephens Auditorium in Ames Monday evening, was canceled because the safety and health of the cast and crew "is of the utmost importance," reads the release.

All cast and crew members are fine, with some recovering from minor injuries, according to the release.

More: 6 dead, at least 8 injured in crashes across Iowa
