Dynamic Gold 120 Shaft Review

More in reviews:.

Sub 70 Pro V2 Fairway Wood

50 Words or Less

The True Temper Dynamic Gold 120 shaft is a lighter version of the classic Dynamic Gold.  Same stability that good players require.

Introduction

Dynamic Gold is the undisputed king of iron shafts.  Every week it’s the most-used shaft on Tour and the odds-on favorite to be in the winner’s bag.  However, golfers at every level are migrating, slowly, to lighter shafts.  In response, True Temper designed the Dynamic Gold 120, an iron shaft with Dynamic Gold’s legendary stability at a slightly lighter weight.

dynamic gold tour issue 120

The first thing that any longtime Dynamic Gold player will want to know is, “Does it feel as stable?”  The answer is, “Yes!”  The Dynamic Gold 120 lives up to the claim of having DG’s renowned stability , particularly in the tip section.

The weight difference between standard DG and the Dynamic Gold 120 is 14 grams in the S400 and 10 grams in the X100.  While the weight is removed evenly across the shaft, the difference is still very noticeable .  If you’re going to make the switch, expect to spend a little time working through the transition.

dynamic gold tour issue 120

Performance

As you would expect, or hope for, the performance of Dynamic Gold 120 is extremely similar to Dynamic Gold .  I’ve played Dynamic Gold for the bulk of my golfing “career,” so the DG 120 was very comfortable for me.  I was able to control my ball flight, and I didn’t get any results that I didn’t deserve.

Compared to other shafts, the Dynamic Gold 120 is a mid/lower launching shaft with low spin .  It’s designed for stronger players who place a premium on control and can generate ample speed.

In testing Dynamic Gold 120 against Dynamic Gold, the one thing I noticed was that it was easier to produce my normal club head speed.  I didn’t see a large jump in club or ball speed, but I was able to hit my regular distances very easily.

dynamic gold tour issue 120

If you’re a longtime Dynamic Gold player who is looking to drop a little weight, the True Temper Dynamic Gold 120 shafts are the perfect answer.  They sacrifice nothing in terms of ball control, but they make it a little easier to produce your normal distances.

The Dynamic Gold 120 is only available through authorized True Temper Performance Fitting Centers like Club Champion .

I’m using the Dynamic Gold r 300 that came with my Srixon 545 irons . Buy far the best iron shaft that I ever hit. Personally I never thought I would even like them,or even be able to hit them . Now im a huge fan of Dynamic Gold .

' src=

I have the new Cleveland CBX wedges with the new Dynamic Gold 115 shafts in them and love the feel so I’m interested in these. I’m wondering though if these are just a repackaged version of the Dynamic Gold XP shafts that were on the WS FG Tour F5 shafts and some others. Not that that’s a bad thing, but I don’t want to go looking for something I already have in my garage. Thoughts?

' src=

Are you referring to the True Temper XP shafts of the Dynalite Gold XP? If the former, it’s a very different shaft. With regard to the latter, I don’t have enough experience with it to say one way or the other.

' src=

Hi Matt, I recently bought a set of taylormade 2023 , p790s. I decided to try kbs $ shaft stiff. To replace my ping I 200. And I absolutely hate them they feel dead. The pings have the dynamic gold s300 . I decided to replace the kbs with dynamic gold 120 s300 . Instead of my original DG 300 . I’m hoping this will improve the feel. On the mean time I’m back using my old pings I 200 and loving life.

Comp vs. KBS CTAPER S?

Our review of the C-Taper is here: https://pluggedingolf.com/kbs-c-taper-iron-shaft-review/

' src=

I currently play DG S300s but balloon them too much in the wind. The DG X100s (TI) feel a bit too stiff for me though. Plus, I am 1″ over standard length in my clubs so I think the 120s could help reduce the heftiness of the irons. Will the 120s, being a lighter weight, play a bit softer than the DG X100s? Should I maybe consider DG120 X100s soft-stepped once? Thanks much.

Yes, I think the DG120 will play a little softer than the standard DG.

' src=

Matt, I got fitted for the TT X100 in the TM P790 irons but just noticed there is a set for sale with the new TT DG 105 gram in a X flex. What are the differences in shaft loading, ball height, and stability? I was hitting my 7 iron 175 yards with X100’s

I’ve never reviewed the DG 105, so I can’t speak to that. I will, however, offer my standard advice which is to not second guess your fitting. If you were fit for X100 and you buy something else, it’s only going to take one bad range session before you start wondering if things would have been better with the X100s.

' src=

I always seem to get fit into dynamic gold x100 but i’ve never liked the feel, definitely too stout and lifeless particularly on knock down shots. Can you recommend any shafts to test that feel smoother/livelier and easier to play but still designed for high speed players for lower launch and spin?

I’d recommend trying the Nippon Modus 125.

' src=

I got fit for s300 last year do you think the 120 would still be a good option for me. I am trying to order some new srixon zx7 irons but for some reason I cannot put the normal s300 in them. Only the 120

I have a policy that I never recommend going against or tweaking a fitter’s recommendation. I know there are plenty of builders, such as Club Champion, who could build the ZX7 with the exact shaft you were fit for. If you’re trying to order direct through Srixon, I would get a fitting to find a recommendation for something they offer.

' src=

How would you compare the Dynamic Gold 120 against Project X LZ? I have a set of Callaway x forged 18 irons and am thinking about reshafting them.

Best, Jason

The LZ feels much more active to me.

' src=

Very helpful info. Currently on tour issue x100s. Made a decision to make the switch to dg120 because of this article. Thanks very much.

' src=

Hi I’m hitting dg 120 in xstiff in my p790’s and love them. Currently playing my driver in 60g xstiff but not well. Any suggestions? Am I too stiff in the driver in comparison?

60-X might be fine, you just might want a different shaft. My advice is always to get fit.

' src=

any thoughts on having steel fiber 110cw in irons with these in wedges? I feel like weight wise would be a good transition. I’m not expecting fitting answers.

I have no particular opinion on that combination. I’m sure it could work for some players.

' src=

I currently play dynamic gold standard s300 but think I hit them too high and lose a few yards will the tour issue dynamic gold 120 help in this case

' src=

Hi. I’m playing DG S400 since I was young. Played professional when I was between 20-30 years old. Now I’m 58 and have trouble to maintain clubhead speed. Carry 7i approx 155yds (weak loft Mizuno MP33). Thick I like the slightly heavy shaft that I’m used to but would maybe benefit from a shaft change. Do you have any recommendation? Maybe DG 120 S300? Unfortunately there is no fitter nearby. Kind regards Peter

Where do you live that there’s not a fitter anywhere near you? I believe Club Champion alone has over 100 US locations.

Hello again. I live in Sweden! Do you think a lighter shaft would benefit my shots? 😁 Or stretching would do greater differences? 😅 Kind regards Peter

The effects of a weight change are not easily predicted, as we’ve seen time and again in Golf Myths Unplugged. However, if you feel like the shafts are too heavy and you’re tired at the end of the round, then I think it’s a good bet that something a bit lighter will help.

True Temper’s new Dynamic Gold 120 shafts lighten up a classic

dynamic gold tour issue 120

One of the most popular and recognizable iron shafts in golf is True Temper’s Dynamic Gold, a 130-gram steel shaft that has been a staple in the bags of weekend golfers for decades. It continues to dominate shaft counts on the PGA Tour, and current users of the shaft include Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Patrick Reed and Tiger Woods.

As golf technology has progressed in recent years, however, golfers are finding that lighter-weight iron shafts can be beneficial to their games. True Temper has been a leader of the charge by creating lighter-weight alternatives to the Dynamic Gold line, most notably its XP 95, 105 and 115 shafts . But with their lighter weights, those shafts are generally higher spinning and higher launching. The same is true of the progressively weighted Dynamic Gold AMT shafts , which by design includes lighter-weight long and mid-iron shafts to help golfers hit higher shots with those clubs.

With its new Dynamic Gold 120 Tour Issue line of shafts, True Temper sought to create a lighter-weight version of the Dynamic Gold that offers the same tour-level performance. The shafts are 10-14 grams lighter than the original, but provide a very similar trajectory. In fact, True Temper says the Dynamic Gold 120’s are “slightly lower spinning.” That means that even with their lighter-weight design, they can hold up for the fastest swingers. The new shafts also offer the same balance point as the original Dynamic Gold, so swing weight will not be affected. For comparison, see the specifications of both shafts below.

I was on the verge of selling my Mizuno mp-25’s with kbs tour shafts when I came across these bad boys! Despite the feel of those KBS shafts, I generated to much spin with a ballooning effect on my shots. These new tour issue 120 are phenomenal!! Picked up 5-10 yards with a beautiful trajectory! Spend the money and game these shafts. They are as smooth as a KBS tour shaft with the lower spin of the dynamic gold s400 in a Project X weight! It just feels like a rocket coming off the face.

Looks like they are just trying to copy what Nippon is doing now that they have started to gain some traction in the market place. Really original idea, but it will sell because it says True Temper.

dynamic gold tour issue 120

May 15, 2017 at 7:42 am

I would say this comment would be even more accurate if you had referenced KBS as a 120 competitor (tour, c-taper, etc.)

May 15, 2017 at 3:54 pm

Yes, I think referencing KBS would have been more accurate if this shaft was set to release a few years ago when KBS was first starting to make its mark. Although KBS does not compete with True Temper in market share, they have carved out its customer base and those numbers will not change much unless one of them do something groundbreaking. I think True Temper sees the traction Nippon is starting to gain in the mainstream marketplace as yet another company who can take market share.

S400 and X100 TT DG shafts that will produce higher launch and more spin and a lighter weight steel shaft are going into my Miz musclebacks. You know what they say — “if you can’t get it up you can’t get it in”. I want the feel of tour-level performance in my clubs, that satisfying stiff feel.

Currently, in our GolfWRX buy/sell/trade (BST) forum, there is a listing for a full set of ‘Tiger Slam’ clubs.

dynamic gold tour issue 120

From the seller: (@CaymanS): “During the year of recovery from leg surgery that never quite healed, I was bored.  One thing led to another, and I ended up gradually building/acquiring the individual pieces to complete a set of “Tiger Slam” clubs.  They are what Tiger played to win 4 consecutive majors, which nobody has ever done.  This is not an exact replica of course, but something close that fit me to play a few times per year and experience what Tiger did.  But my bad leg, 4 shoulder tears, and age prevents me from the ball-striking needed to enjoy these to their fullest.  They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially since the driver and fairway shafts are regular flex and most players good enough to play these will need to change them, but it’s not a perfect world.  I am not a historian on this stuff, but my research indicates these are the same models Tiger used, with slightly different specs to fit me.

True Temper Dynamic Gold 120 Shaft Review

True Temper Dynamic Gold TI 120  shaft is a great new addition to the Dynamic Gold line.  The trusty Dynamic Gold shafts have been on the market FOREVER and still dominate the OEM market and PGA Tour.  But, weighing in at 130+ grams, these shafts were in need of a facelift with all of the competition from lighter weight competitors.  And, let’s face it, golfers that LOVED the  Dynamic Gold S300 and X100 that are getting a little older, could use a lighter weight shaft that gives them better feel, increased clubhead speed and yet has the same “window” of ball flight that these players like.

In our testing, the Dynamic Gold TI 120 is exactly what is touted by True Temper…similar launch characteristics, slightly lower spin and a similar feel to the original DG TI.  We need to do a little more testing to validate the findings but we are seeing a little more increase in clubhead speed from the Dynamic Gold TI 120 due to its slightly lighter weight.  Again, every golfer is different and some golfers may pick up clubhead speed but lose accuracy with a lighter shafts.

From a pure technical specification perspective,  the DG TI 120 will play slightly softer to flex so you will want to hard step these shafts once to get the same performance as the original Dynamic Gold shafts.   Again, your fitter will help you decide which shaft has the best performance for your game.

As for a comparison of shafts in the 120 gram weight category, there are a lot of shafts to compare:  Project X LZ Steel, XP 115, DG AMT TI, KBS Tour, Nippon Modus 125.  Stay tuned and see how our testing proves out in these head-to-head comparisons.

Dynamic Gold X100 Review – Specs, Flex, Weight

dynamic gold tour issue 120

The True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 shaft is one of the “Tour Issue” shafts in the Dynamic Gold line.

It is made for the experienced and discerning golfer who can notice slight differences in golf club shaft weight.

The Dynamic Gold X100 has been used to great success on the PGA Tour by some of the best players in the world. But does it have anything to offer the everyday golfer? We wanted to see for ourselves so we took our testing team, which consists of both mid and low handicap players, to the links to see how they handled the Dynamic Gold X100.

Dynamic Gold X100 Overview

The Dynamic Gold X100 is a tour-weighted steel shaft ideal for irons.

For the most part, you will need a pretty fast swing to unlock the distance potential that these shafts bring to the table. We’ve heard people say that they have seen players use the Dynamic Gold X100 shafts very poorly, usually citing wide shot dispersion.

After our testing, we have come to the conclusion that erratic shot dispersion is usually the fault of the player and not so much the shaft. How you load and unload the shaft will have a lot to do with how the Dynamic Gold X100 performs. If you have a deliberate tempo, it’s understandable that shot dispersion and distance will be erratic.

Overall, the Dynamic Gold X100 produces a low launch and has a high kick point – a tandem that will surely appeal to better players with fast swing speeds and at least a  moderate tempo.

Why is Dynamic Gold So Popular?

Probably because these shafts are in the bags of tons of pros.

They are also a very common sight in professional fittings. The Dynamic Gold Tour Issue series of shafts, which consists of the Dynamic Gold X100 and the Dynamic Gold S400 are a bit on the heavier side so they appeal to faster swing speed players who are looking for more stability at impact.

Aside from performance, True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts are likely so popular because of the technology and features that go into them. They all feature a firm tip and variable wall technology. These features give the player an incredible amount of club head control – you can really feel the high level of control when you swing. Pros, amateurs and casual players alike have found that the Dynamic Gold series of shafts is ideal for iron play.

How Does the Dynamic Gold X100   Perform?

Almost every tester in our party noted a low, piercing trajectory with the Dynamic Gold X100.

The low handicap testers in our group (all hovering around the 90-96 MPH swing speed mark) were getting very tight shot dispersion. Our mid handicappers also noticed tight shot dispersion; but less consistently.

They mentioned that they can feel when the shaft was loaded awkwardly and that it was on those shots that dispersion was poor. About half of our low handicap testers noted that they were getting about 4 yards of extra difference on average with the Dynamic Gold X100 fitted on their 5-irons.

“Accuracy” was an adjective that we heard over and over again from our testers. These shafts seem to be made for short iron and wedge play. Again, the Dynamic Gold X100 shaft has a high kick point so you are going to gain some ball speed and distance from the low trajectory launch – if you have enough club head speed to counteract the weight of this shaft.

Overall, the Dynamic Gold X100 performed extremely well in  terms of distance and short game accuracy.

Dynamic Gold X100 Shaft Specs Table

What flexes are available what swing speed do they suit.

The Dynamic Gold X100 is a Tour Issue shaft so it is only available in extra stiff flex.

You will need a swing speed between about 88 and 98 MPH at least to get the full distance benefits from this shaft.

What Weights Are Available? What Swing Speed Do They Suit?

The Dynamic Gold X100 is only available in a 130 gram version which actually isn’t the heaviest Dynamic Gold shaft in the line (see the Dynamic Gold S400).

Again, you will need a swing speed in the mid to upper 90’s to counteract the weight and get the intended launch. A moderate to fast tempo will also help.

Why is it So Good?

The Dynamic Gold X100 is great for low handicap players seeking better stability for their high club head speed.

It affords faster swingers the accuracy they need on the fairway and around the pin.

Dynamic Gold X100 First Impressions

dynamic gold tour issue 120

We actually thought the Dynamic Gold X100 was lighter than 130 grams. It doesn’t feel much heavier than other Dynamic Gold shafts we’ve tested; but then again, none of us are hypersensitive players.

Key Features & Performance

The strength of this shaft is really outstanding. It imparts excellent flight control and stability to the player.

Dynamic Gold X100 Wedges Review

The Dynamic Gold X100 is ideal for wedges. Your ball will never balloon out of control and flight is highly controllable.

Dynamic Gold X100 Irons Review

For long irons, the Dynamic Gold X100 will add distance to  your shots. On short approaches, you will get the spin control you need.

Dynamic Gold X100 Driver Review

With a driver, the Dynamic Gold X100 will surely rattle even better players because of the weight and stiffness.

Dynamic Gold X100 Pros & Cons

  • Great distance
  • Good ball speed
  • Extremely accurate
  • Controllable launch
  • Ideal for irons
  • A bit strong
  • Only one flex option

dynamic gold tour issue 120

Overall Score:  96/100

Who Should Buy it?

The Dynamic Gold X100 shaft is clearly for low handicap to scratch players.

Even our mid handicap testers had a bit of trouble loading the Dynamic Gold X100 for tight shot dispersion. But if you have a fast swing speed and at least a moderate tempo, you will love the distance and accuracy of this shaft.

Hey GolfWRXers, we have our new lightweight Dynamic Gold family being released this month so just wanted to give some details on what is to come! The new Dynamic Gold 105, Dynamic Gold 115 and Dynamic Gold 120 offerings deliver lighter weight Dynamic Gold alternatives while maintaining classic Dynamic Gold feel and characteristics. They will be available at retail on 11/15.

The Dynamic Gold 105 iron shaft provides tour-level performance in a lightweight steel design—making a compromise between these trade-offs no more. Providing players with the exact same feel as Dynamic Gold in a mid-low launch and spin shaft that is engineered to be easier to swing, Dynamic Gold 105 allows for the control and accuracy expected from the Dynamic Gold brand while adding distance due to increased clubhead speed.

  • Dynamic Gold 105 comes in both a taper and parallel tip option and is offered in a full flex range.

The Dynamic Gold 115 wedge shaft is designed as a lightweight alternative to the #1 wedge shaft in the history of the game. For those who play a lightweight iron shaft, playing a lightweight wedge shaft only makes sense as it provides an ideal weight transition from your irons to wedges. Having this seamless transition allows players a more natural feel in their wedges, leading to better consistency and lower scores. Dynamic Gold 115 is a mid-low launch and spin wedge shaft that is optimal for golfers who play iron shafts weighing 105g or less.

  • Dynamic Gold 115 is a taper tipped wedge shaft offered in S300 flex only.

The Dynamic Gold 120 iron shaft delivers the tour-caliber accuracy of Dynamic Gold in a lighter weight steel shaft. Stronger players will experience the same profile and launch as Dynamic Gold in a shaft that is easier to swing.

  • Dynamic Gold 120 is a taper tipped shaft offered in a full flex range.

To get fit for one of these shafts, check out our certified Performance Fitting Centers .

Easiest answer...don't pay much attention to those charts. They do not nor have they ever quatified how they come up with their placements on those charts.

I have the DG115 in my previous set of wedges that I just replaced this year. I liked the shaft as it felt familiar to me but lighter so I could excute more touch shots. I had DG105 in my irons so i

I directly compared these 2 shafts yesterday side by side. I like the DG 105 much better, it went straighter, felt better and had better dispersion.

How similar to the Modus Tour 120 is the DG120?

Wow, thanks for the info. I expect you are going to get a lot of great questions now. I've been playing with True Temper shafts most of my middle-aged life, and they will be in my next set too. TT's doing great things.

I hate to veer off topic, but could you just take a moment and clear up the confusion some of us have had about AMT, AMT Tour Black and AMT Tour White? Is AMT (from 2016-17) and AMT Tour White the same shaft? What is AMT Tour Black? By all means relate them to these new models you introduced here if you'd think it would help us.

And thanks, for being on this board. It's tremendous, and great customer relations, for TT to have you here.

Dynamic Gold 120 will be different to any competitor’s shaft due to the specific EI profile and characteristics that are associated with Dynamic Gold. We spent years trying to perfect a shaft in the 120g weight range that plays nearly identical to the classic Dynamic Gold and we didn’t release Dynamic Gold 120 until we felt like we accomplished that. Because of how similar we were able to make Dynamic Gold 120 play to Dynamic Gold, a good idea when trying to compare Dynamic Gold 120 to another shaft is to just imagine a slightly lighter weight Dynamic Gold.

So glad to hear and to have you as a part of the True Temper team. AMT Tour White is the same build as the prior AMT but just the offering of that build and weight range that falls in the new AMT line. AMT Black will be the mid option from a weight/trajectory/spin perspective out of the three new AMT shafts.

Here is a link to details: https://www.truetemper.com/products/amt-black/

Hope that helps!

Will be more in line with the idea of Dynamic Gold in that the 105s will be a touch stiffer build in the tip, resulting in a more mid-low flight and spin as opposed to the higher launching XP95.

Is the 105 being released the same that is being offered in the new P790's?

I’ve hit both the 105 and 120.

105 feels better than the old SL. Launches a touch higher for me with similar spin to Dynamic Gold and goes longer. For me the SL felt boardy and launched lower thand regular Dynamic Gold.

120 is almost a lighter version of regular Dynamic Gold in every aspect. Great shaft for anyone whol likes Dynamic Gold profile.

Sorry if this is OT, but how does AMT White compare to Dynalite Gold XP?

toshman

Thanks for the pre-release snapshot. Could you give information on the balance point of the new shafts? Could they be installed and maintain the swingweight of older dynamic gold shafts without the need for heavier heads?

This is awesome. I’m a bit of an anomaly in that I have an extremely smooth transition (so a lighter shaft is beneficial) yet launch my irons extremely high with a good amount of spin. What would you recommend I try?

Yes- I have a similar question. The True Temper website lists DGSL as low launch, low spin and the DG 105 as Low launch, mid spin.

Which spins less? DGSL or DG 105?

I am a HUGE fan of DGSL and I am just trying to understand the difference??...

I have the AMT Black R300 in my 718 AP1 irons and like it so far. 7 iron swing speed on Trackman is about 82 MPH, so I swing quite a bit slower than average here. The Black offered the best shot dispersion in my Titleist Thursday fitting. I was coming from G15 with AWT R flex and like the Black much better. The found the AWT long iron shafts are fairly weak.

I tested 115 and really couldn't tell the difference between that and the original DG S300 wedge. Now I see that's exactly what they were going for...

As part of the True Temper/GolfWRX test team, I was able to test the DG 105 S300. Lightweight steel shafts have always intrigued me but they have never really worked for me. On the flip side, traditional DG gives me some issues too, mainly later in rounds when I get a little tired. When I found out a DG 105 would be coming out I was excited, hoping they could somehow make a lightweight shaft that maintains the characteristics of the DG that has been around for ages.

I've only spent a limited amount of time with them so I'm not ready to make a yay or nay decision yet. Early results were pretty good. It certainly has the potential to be my favorite lightweight steel shaft, but that isn't to say I'm ready to ditch my AMTs or PX LZs for them. I wouldn't say the 105 feels exactly like traditional DG but they are in the same ball park...tip stiff with a softer butt. I think on my review sheet I said the 105 felt a little more crisp than the traditional DG. Ball flight was on the med-high side but it didn't seem to spin too much. I was hitting the test shaft pretty much the same distances as my current set (which has AMT S400). Accuracy was just as good as long as I didn't get too quick. When I got a little fast, I tended to hit some pretty big draws (dare I say hooks?). The shaft responded best to smooth, controlled swings. Unfortunately those "smooth, controlled" swings aren't really what I do so I would probably have to put in some work to get the swing smoothed out in order for the DG 105 to work consistently well for me.

As far as comparing it to other shafts in the same weight range, I don't have a large sample size to pick from. I didn't like the Modus 105. I can't pinpoint one specific thing I didn't like about them other than the fact I just didn't swing well with them. The DG 105 has a firmer feeling tip (and overall feel) compared to the XP105. It also launches lower than the XP105. The XP105 is really smooth though. I haven't hit the KBS Tour 105.

I'm going to spend some more time with it over the winter and see how things progress. Maybe a X100 would work better for my quick transition? Who knows...I might explore it to find out.

Why would someone choose to go with a constant weight 120/105 vs say an AMT? I'm a long time DG user and was thinking of going lighter in the long irons only so I'm torn between going 105 across the board or going with S300 AMT?

I have been testing this shaft in a wedge for a bit now. Love the shaft. Spin and control, especially on partial shots, have been great for me in my experiences. I’ve got one in a 64* and with it, as that’s the wedge I wanted to increase the spin on so I didn’t have to swing it as hard but keep the spin up. It’s working out great for me and the partial shots are where I’m really seeing the differences. I had a DG X100 softstepped in it before. Now it spins like a top without as much effort. The added benefit is I like a heavy swingweight in that wedge so it’s easier to get there

I'm curious about this too, I just switched to new irons with the AMT shaft (not professionally fit) and love the mid to long iron performance. Makes me think I should look to the lighter-weighted shaft next time I get a fitting through the whole bag.

I did noticed increased stopping power on partial shots as well. I kinda attributed it to a brand spanking new wedge head I am using, which also happen to have a lot of bounce. Now I am thinking maybe the shaft should be given some credits too.

Anyone compare the 120s to C Tapers?

Mine is al older beater. The whole purpose in my selection was to increase spin for me on those shots. That wedge is specific and purpose built for the home course as we have several narrow greens and short sides opportunities present themselves more frequently

How does the 120 flex compare to standard DG? Does an X100 120 = X100 DG or is the 120 slightly softer due to the lighter weight?

Does anyone have launch monitor numbers comparing standard DG to 120?
