A beautiful and functional Mid Century Leather Folding Eight Day Travel Clock by Jaeger LeCoultre, Model Number 1362. With a Jewelled eight day going barrel movement with fully jewelled Swiss lever escapement, this is a very stylish and usable clock. It is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. Although originally conceived as a travel or bedside table clock it would make a perfect desk clock for the office.

The clock is housed in a stylish deep green leather case, which provides protection for the clock while on the go. The case is made of high-quality leather with a smooth and polished finish that adds to the overall elegance of the clock. The cast has an e xtending nickel winding and setting crown to the top and is stamped ‘1362’, ‘Made in France, Patent Applied For’. The clock unfolds, forming the rear support and revealing a chrome surround to the rectangular Arabic dial inscribed ‘Eight Days, Swiss Made’. The chapters and blued steel hands were formerly luminescent.

The case itself is designed to be compact and easy to carry, with a folding design that allows it to be easily packed away in a suitcase or travel bag. The case is held closed with a small metal latch, which keeps the clock securely in place while in transit.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Gübelin Alarm Travel Clock, 8 Day

This Jaeger LeCoultre travel clock is a charming relic of the early days of jet-set international travel. At a time when travel was equal parts glamour and adversity, this elegant travel clock would have been a valued companion.  Unusually, the dial is signed by  "E. Gübelin" , in reference to the historic retailer based in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Worth Reading

Used as a desk or bedside clock by both ladies and gentlemen, one of the collectable’s key features is its capacity to open and close, allowing the clock to be protected during transport or stand up straight when rested on a flat surface. Designed for practical use, it features an alarm function which still functions, emitting a loud and crisp sound. 

An improvement from previous executions from the 1920s which only featured a 2-day power reserve, this example features an 8-day power reserve, as indicated by the '8'   signature at 6 o’clock. The calibre is manually-wound, operated through a crown at 6 o’clock, which is easily accessible. Concealed within the crown, the button for the alarm setting moves the alarm indicator backwards by 1 minute, with each activation. One would like to imagine that these were intentionally conceived by Jaeger in order to facilitate changing the time (and alarm), for example when crossing between timezones.  

The " E. Gübelin"  signature adds to the rarity and appeal of this travel clock, with no mention of Jaeger LeCoultre on the dial. Founded in 1854, Gübelin is one of the oldest watch retailers in Europe, having marked its name on many double-signed Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet watches back in the day. 

The dial is well-preserved, with the blued steel hands and painted indexes having developed a warm patina, which beautifully complements the black dial. The dial layout is reminiscent of Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso designs from the same period, which was recently reintroduced by the brand in various configurations . The black alligator outer-case is in excellent condition and brings out the brown patina of the dial, enhancing the overall visual presence of the clock.

Watch straps should be checked regularly to ensure they remain fully intact, particularly with quick-release spring bars, where the material is thinner on one side. Similarly, watch cases should be checked to ensure their inner holders and fasteners are free of defects and deterioration, outside of general wear and tear.

All of our leather goods are handmade products, where no two are identical. As a result, small cosmetic and size differences can be expected.

We offer worldwide delivery on our straps and accessories. If ordering from overseas, delivery will depend on the destination.  All import taxes and duties are the responsibility of the buyer.

If ordering from the UK before 1 PM, your strap will be sent the same working day. For Royal Mail deliveries within the UK the expected delivery time is 1 - 3 days, and for international DHL deliveries the expected delivery time is 1 - 2 days.

Following the unveiling of Jaeger-LeCoultre ’s alluring novelties at Watches & Wonders last month, the Maison continues to explore further into its archives to offer refreshing updates on existing models. The latest release is a brand-new interpretation of the Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948, presented in an 18-carat pink gold case and starring a wondrous green enamel dial.

Known for its mastery of watch complications, Jaeger-LeCoultre proudly showcases its watchmaking prowess in every aspect of its creation. In the case of this new reference, the world-time complication is artistically integrated with the use of artisanal handcrafts as expressed through lacquer work, enameling and hand-guillochage — bringing to life a stunning and mesmerization depiction of the globe.

The international children festival of theatre arts “Long Break”

What is the international child festival of theatre arts “Long Break”? It is a real holiday for young spectators and their parents. The international child festival of theatre arts “Long Break” will be hold from the 30th of April to the 5th of May. It will be in Perm and Lysva. It will be hold under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture, Youth Politics and Mass Communications of Perm Krai. The program of the festival is prepared by Russian and foreign experts of child theatre. There are the most interesting for children events of the world arts. The “Long Break” familiarizes children with actual artists. It is the platform where people communicate with people using the language of modern arts which is understandable for a new generation.

The festival “The White Nights in Perm”

• The participants of the festival of land art “Ural Myths” will create art objects using natural materials. The objects will have the same mythological idea.
• During the festival of bears “MedveDay” the masters Teddy-makers will tell gripping stories about a symbol of the city. They will organize some exhibitions of teddy bears and they will give master classes.

• The exhibition “Mammoth’s track” will gather mammoths from different corners of Russia on Perm’s territory. There will be even a famous mammoth Dima.
• And at last the international festival of street arts «Open sky» will represent the various program: carnival processions, a 5-day master class «Mask Art», street shows and performances, performances of Russian and foreign street theatres.

The IX International festival “Heavenly Fair of Ural”

From the 26th to the 3rd of July the IX International festival “Heavenly Fair of Ural” takes place in Kungur. There will be a fight for the I Privolzhski Federal Disctrict Cup for aerostatics and the VII Perm Krai Open Cup for aerostatics.This year Kungur won’t hold rating competitions which results are taking into general account of the pilots. They counted on creating entertainment activities “Air battles over Kungur”. There will be the representatives of sub-units of ultralight aviation, detachment of parachute troops and water means. All the battles will take place straight over the city. And natives will take part in the festival too.According to initial data 15 aeronauts and about 50 ultralight aviation pilots expressed willingness to take part at the festival. And a dirigible pilot confirmed his participation.Ultralight aviation pilots will take part in the “Air games” within the festival. As last year a campsite of ultralight aviation will base in an area near a village Milniki.
