Yes, you can rent a luxury car without reservation. However, this depends on availability. Non-reserved rents are provided on a first-come-first-served basis. It is always advisable to reserve the car you want to hire.

Are there any restrictions on mileage when using a rental luxury car?

Mileage on luxury cars will be charged from one garage to another. The minimum limit for outstation mileage is 250 km per day.

How are rental fees calculated if I extend the rental during the original rental period?

The rental fees will be calculated either on a daily rate basis or based on the extra distance covered.

What should I know about renting a car?

Condition of the car and whether it is a diesel or petrol car. The owner must be a trustworthy person, and the terms of use must be well established.

Should I choose unlimited mileage with my car hire? And how do I?

It depends upon the trip one has planned. Unlimited mileage can be costly as there is no limit on the distance covered. The terms need to at first be established by the concerned service provider.

Thais favour China for Songkran post visa waiver

KTC World Travel Service unveiled insights that during the Songkran festival, Thais have been increasingly travelling to China, particularly Guangzhou and Shanghai, following the introduction of Thai-Chinese visa waivers.  

Moreover, total KTC credit card spending in the travel category increased by 15% in the first quarter of 2024, with the travel agent sector leading in spending growth.

Pattheera Anandchotiphatchara , Head of KTC World Travel Service and Airline Travel Marketing , “ KTC ” or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited , revealed that due to the visa exemption measures between Thailand and the People's Republic of China, there has been a notable increase in travel plans during the Songkran Festival , between April 12, 2024, and April 16, 2024.  

Members have shown greater interest in travelling to destinations within the People's Republic of China through KTC World Travel Service.  

The 5 main routes for which members have chosen to reserve airline tickets and purchase other travel service products are Hong Kong / Taipei / Guangzhou / Shanghai , and Hanoi / Seoul , respectively.  This shift contrasts with the Songkran festival in 2023, where Taipei City , Hokkaido , and Fukuoka City were the top 3 destinations.

Meanwhile, KTC credit card total spending in the travel category increased by 15% in the first quarter of 2024 year-over-year.  The travel category now holds second in the total credit card spending portfolio, following the insurance category.  Among the various spending categories, the travel agent, airline, and hotel categories hold the highest proportion of spending, respectively.

Simultaneously, KTC credit card spending abroad increased by 18% during the first quarter of 2024 year-over-year.  The travel routes with the highest spending were Japan , Hong Kong, Korea , Taiwan , and Singapore , respectively. Following the opening of the country, China has experienced significant spending growth and is now ranked among the top 10 countries with the highest spending.

The trains and stations of the Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro is the third most intensive subway system in the world after Tokyo and Seoul subways. The first line was opened on May 15, 1935. Since 1955, the metro has the name of V.I. Lenin.

The system consists of 12 lines with a total length of 305.7 km. Forty four stations are recognized cultural heritage. The largest passenger traffic is in rush hours from 8:00 to 9:00 and from 18:00 to 19:00.

Cellular communication is available on most of the stations of the Moscow Metro. In March 2012, a free Wi-Fi appeared in the Circle Line train. The Moscow Metro is open to passengers from 5:20 to 01:00. The average interval between trains is 2.5 minutes.

The fare is paid by using contactless tickets and contactless smart cards, the passes to the stations are controlled by automatic turnstiles. Ticket offices and ticket vending machines can be found in station vestibules.

KTC World Travel Service เพราะเรื่องเที่ยวเราจริงจัง

ระเฑียร ศรีมงคล ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร “เคทีซี” หรือ บริษัท บัตรกรุงไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) ได้กล่าวไว้ในการแถลงทิศทางธุรกิจของเคทีซีในปี 2566 ว่า การดำเนินธุรกิจของเคทีซีนับจากนี้จะแบ่งเป็น 3 กลุ่ม คือ 1. กลุ่มธุรกิจหลัก (Existing) ได้แก่ ธุรกิจบัตรเครดิตและธุรกิจสินเชื่อไม่มีหลักประกัน

2. กลุ่มธุรกิจใหม่ (New S Curve) ที่คาดว่าจะเป็นตัวสร้างรายได้แบบก้าวกระโดดให้กับบริษัทฯ ได้แก่ สินเชื่อรถแลกเงิน หรือ เคทีซี พี่เบิ้ม และสินเชื่อกรุงไทยธุรกิจลีสซิ่ง และ 3. กลุ่มโมเดลธุรกิจที่อยู่ระหว่างการเพาะบ่ม (Incubator) ที่จะพัฒนาจนกลายเป็น New S Curve ต่อไปในอนาคต อย่าง MAAI by KTC ลอยัลตี้ แพลตฟอร์มแบบครบวงจร ที่มีการเคลื่อนไหวอย่างคึกคักตลอดช่วงปีที่ผ่านมา

แต่นอกเหนือจาก MAAI by KTC แล้ว ยังมีอีกหนึ่งโมเดลธุรกิจที่กำลังอยู่ระหว่างการบ่มเพาะที่น่าสนใจไม่แพ้กัน นั่นคือ “KTC World Travel Service” ศูนย์บริการข้อมูลการเดินทางและท่องเที่ยวสำหรับสมาชิกบัตรเครดิตเคทีซี โมเดลธุรกิจในศูนย์เพาะบ่มของเคทีซีที่กำลังมาแรงและมีศักยภาพในการเติบโตที่น่าจับตามอง

“พัทธ์ธีรา อนันต์โชติพัชร” หรือคุณแพท ผู้บริหารสูงสุด หมวดการท่องเที่ยวและสันทนาการ บริษัท บัตรกรุงไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ KTC World Travel Service Department เท้าความถึงจุดเริ่มต้นของ KTC World Travel Service ให้ “ผู้จัดการ 360 องศา” ฟังว่า

“อุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยวเป็นหมวดหลักอันดับต้นๆ ที่สมาชิกจะหยิบบัตรเครดิตขึ้นมาใช้ เคทีซีจึงนำเอาอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยวเป็นหนึ่งในกลยุทธ์หลักในการทำการตลาดบัตรเครดิตมาตลอดระยะเวลามากกว่า 18 ปี และเพื่อสร้างความโดดเด่นและแตกต่างในหมวดท่องเที่ยว เคทีซีจึงพัฒนาบริการที่เรียกว่า ‘KTC World Travel Service’ ขึ้นมาในปี 2555 เพื่อตอบโจทย์ความต้องการของสมาชิกบัตรที่ชื่นชอบการเดินทางท่องเที่ยวโดยเฉพาะ”

พัทธ์ธีราเปิดเผยเพิ่มเติมว่า ปี 2555 ถือเป็นก้าวแรกที่ KTC World Travel Service แยกออกมาเป็นอีกหนึ่ง Business Unit ที่ต่อยอดมาจากความแข็งแกร่งในการทำตลาดด้านการท่องเที่ยวของเคทีซีที่ดำเนินมากว่า 18 ปี โดยวางโพสิชันของตัวเองในฐานะผู้เชี่ยวชาญและผู้ให้บริการด้านการเดินทางท่องเที่ยวแบบครบวงจร หรือ “travel consultant”

โดย KTC World Travel Service เป็นการให้บริการด้านการเดินทางสำหรับสมาชิกบัตรเครดิตเคทีซีทุกประเภททุกหน้าบัตรแบบครบวงจร บริการหลักๆ ประกอบด้วย การให้ข้อมูลการเดินทางด้านต่างๆ บริการการจองตั๋วเครื่องบินทั้งในและนอกประเทศ จองห้องพัก จองรถเช่า บริการรถรับส่งจากสนามบินรวมถึงรถลีมูซีน ให้บริการวีซ่า แพ็กเกจทัวร์ ล่องเรือสำราญ และประกันการเดินทาง

ถ้ามองเผินๆ จะเห็นว่าบริการต่างๆ ดูจะคล้ายคลึงกับการเป็น travel agent ทั่วไป แต่พัทธ์ธีราเน้นย้ำว่า บริการของ KTC World ไม่เหมือนกับ travel agent แต่ถือเป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการเดินทางท่องเที่ยว หรือ “travel consultant” ที่เป็นบริการมาตรฐานคอลเซ็นเตอร์

“บริการของ KTC World ไม่เหมือน travel agent เราเป็นบริการแบบ one-stop-service สามารถให้คำแนะนำกับลูกค้าได้ทุกเรื่อง ดูแลเรื่องเอกสารการเดินทาง อำนวยความสะดวกด้านการบริการ และครอบคลุมผลิตภัณฑ์การเดินทางทั้งหมด”

4 แกนหลัก เสริมความแกร่ง

พัทธ์ธีราเปิดเผยต่อว่าสิ่งที่ทำให้บริการของ KTC World แข็งแกร่งและแตกต่างจาก travel agent ประกอบด้วย 4 แกนหลักด้วยกัน คือ 1. “ไม่ทิ้ง ไม่เท” ลูกค้ามั่นใจในผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เคทีซีเลือกมาเติมในชั้นวางของ KTC World ได้ว่าไม่มีการทิ้งลูกค้า

2. วิธีการจองง่าย ไม่ยุ่งยาก โดยสามารถจองผ่านคอลเซ็นเตอร์ หรือทางไลน์ “@ktcworld” ได้โดยตรง และไม่ใช้โรบอตในการให้บริการ

3. ความปลอดภัยในการใช้จ่ายสูง เนื่องด้วย KTC World เป็นหน่วยงานที่อยู่ภายใต้บริษัท บัตรกรุงไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) ซึ่งเป็นผู้ให้บริการบัตรเครดิตด้วยตนเอง ดังนั้นการใช้จ่ายในผลิตภัณฑ์ต่างๆ ผ่านบัตรเครดิตเคทีซีจึงมีความปลอดภัยสูง และไม่มีเซอร์วิสชาร์จ นอกจากนั้น สมาชิกบัตรยังสามารถใช้สิทธิประโยชน์ของบัตรทั้งคะแนนสะสมหรือการแบ่งชำระได้

4. ลูกค้าได้รับการดูแลตลอดการเดินทางโดยไม่มีค่าใช้จ่ายเพิ่มเติม ตั้งแต่ออนไลน์เช็กอินสำหรับการเดินทางโดยเครื่องบินจนจบการเดินทาง อีกทั้งยังสามารถยกเลิกแผนการเดินทางได้ในกรณีที่จำเป็น

“ตัวอย่างตอนเกิดโควิด-19 จะเห็นเลยว่าบริการของ KTC World โดดเด่นมาก ช่วงที่มีล็อกดาวน์การเดินทางถูกยกเลิก เรามีบริการในการทำ refund ยกเลิกหรือเปลี่ยนแปลงตั๋วให้กับสมาชิกในกรณีที่เดินทางไม่ได้กว่า 3,000 ราย ถ้าไปจองกับเอเยนต์หรือสายการบินโดยตรงลูกค้าต้องไปติดต่อเอง ซึ่งตอนนั้นเป็นช่วงที่ชุลมุนมากช่วงหนึ่ง บางสายการบินติดต่อไม่ได้ บางเอเยนต์ก็ปิดตัวไปแล้ว แต่ทางเรายังคงอำนวยความสะดวกให้ลูกค้าทุกราย เพราะฉะนั้นลูกค้ามั่นใจได้ว่าถ้าเลือกบริการของ KTC World เราจะดูแล ติดตามความคืบหน้าได้ แค่โทรเข้ามาและบอกความต้องการ เราจะดำเนินการกับทางพาร์ตเนอร์ให้เอง” นี่คือสิ่งที่พัทธ์ธีรากล่าวย้ำ

นอกจาก 4 แกนหลักข้างต้นแล้ว ปัจจัยสำคัญที่ทำให้ KTC World เป็นบริการที่แตกต่าง คือการมี “พันธมิตร” ด้านการท่องเที่ยวที่แข็งแกร่งและแน่นแฟ้นกว่า 70 ราย ทั้งสายการบิน โรงแรม เรือสำราญ รถเช่า รวมถึงองค์กรส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวของประเทศต่างๆ เช่น องค์การส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศญี่ปุ่น (JNTO) ที่ล้วนทำให้ผลิตภัณฑ์ของ KTC World โดดเด่นและมีเอกลักษณ์

ผลิตภัณฑ์ด้านการท่องเที่ยวที่โดดเด่นและแสดงให้เห็นถึงความแข็งแรงของพาร์ตเนอร์ เช่น แพ็กเกจงานวิ่งประจำปีที่ฮ่องกงดิสนีย์แลนด์ หรือ Hong Kong Disney Run จากพันธมิตรอย่าง “ฮ่องกงดิสนีย์แลนด์” ที่เป็นดีลพิเศษเฉพาะบัตรเครดิตเคทีซีและ KTC World เท่านั้น เพราะปกติแล้วเปิดรับเฉพาะผู้มีถิ่นพำนักในฮ่องกง

“Hong Kong Disney Run เป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เอ็กซ์คลูซีฟมาก เพราะเราเป็นที่เดียวที่ได้โควตามา เขาไม่ขายให้ที่อื่นเลย เปิดจองกี่รอบก็เต็มทุกรอบ”

อีกหนึ่งผลิตภัณฑ์ที่น่าสนใจคือ “แพ็กเกจเรือสำราญ” รูปแบบการท่องเที่ยวที่คนไทยยังไม่ค่อยคุ้นชิ้นนัก แต่มีข้อดีคือรวมค่าใช้จ่ายทุกอย่างแล้ว ทั้งอาหาร กิจกรรม ความบันเทิง และไม่ต้องแพ็กกระเป๋าหลายครั้งเหมือนการเดินทางท่องเที่ยวทั่วไป

โดยปกติการจองแพ็กเกจเรือสำราญสามารถทำได้ 2 แบบ คือ จองโดยตรงกับจองผ่านตัวแทน ซึ่ง KTC World เป็นหนึ่งในศูนย์บริการแพ็กเกจเรือสำราญที่สามารถให้คำแนะนำได้ตลอดการเดินทาง ตั้งแต่การจองตั๋วเครื่องบินที่เหมาะสมกับโปรแกรมในการล่องเรือ และที่สำคัญยังเป็นพันธมิตรกับ Royal Caribbean Cruise ที่มีเรือสำราญที่ใหญ่และใหม่ที่สุดในเอเชีย อย่าง Spectrum of the Seas อีกด้วย

ที่ผ่านมามีลูกค้าสมาชิกบัตรเครดิตเคทีซีเข้ามาใช้บริการของ KTC World จำนวนหลักหมื่นราย ทั้งลูกค้าบุคคล กลุ่มองค์กร รวมถึงภาครัฐ และมีการเติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่องในยอดการใช้บัตร โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในปี 2562 ที่เติบโตอย่างนิวไฮ ล้อไปกับภาพรวมของอุตสาหกรรมท่องเที่ยวที่เติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่องเช่นกัน

ในช่วงวิกฤตโควิด-19 KTC World เองก็ได้รับผลกระทบเช่นกัน แต่ก็สามารถกลับมาเติบโตได้อีกครั้งเมื่อการเดินทางเริ่มกลับมา โดยคิดเป็นยอดใช้จ่ายในการจองตั๋วเครื่องบิน 90% แพ็กเกจท่องเที่ยว 8-9% ส่วนที่เหลือเป็นประกันการเดินทาง บริการวีซ่า และรถเช่า

Word of mouth: ตัวชี้วัดที่ทรงพลัง แน่นอนว่าเมื่อเป็นหน่วยงานที่อยู่ภายใต้ผู้ให้บริการบัตรเครดิตอย่างบัตรกรุงไทย ยอดใช้จ่ายผ่านบัตรจึงถือเป็นตัวชี้วัดประสิทธิภาพและความสำเร็จในการทำงานอย่างหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ แต่สิ่งที่พัทธ์ธีราและทีมคาดหวังคือการบอกต่อในผลิตภัณฑ์และบริการของ KTC World เพื่อการเป็นผู้ให้บริการด้านการท่องเที่ยวที่ดีที่สุด

“แพทบอกน้องๆ ในทีมเสมอว่า ยอดใช้จ่ายผ่านบัตรมันคือหนึ่งในตัวชี้วัดที่จับต้องได้และเราจำเป็นต้องมี แต่เหนืออื่นใดสิ่งที่แพทอยากให้เป็นมากที่สุดคือการบอกต่อในผลิตภัณฑ์และบริการของ KTC World แม้ว่าการบอกต่อมันจะไม่สามารถจับต้องหรือวัดได้ก็ตาม แต่ถ้ามันเกิดขึ้นจริงๆ เดินไปไหนแล้วมีคนบอกว่าชื่นชอบบริการของ KTC World นั่นคือสิ่งที่เราอยากได้ยินและมันมีค่ามากกว่าตัวเลข ซึ่งสุดท้ายแล้วมันก็ย้อนกลับมาสู่ยอดการใช้จ่ายผ่านบัตรในที่สุด”

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station  was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.

10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.
