Houston Open payout distribution 2024: Prize money, purse
What is the prize money on the line at Memorial Park for the 2024 Houston Open?
By Cody Williams | Mar 31, 2024
The predominant narrative coming into the 2024 Houston Open was, naturally, about the No. 1-ranked player in golf, Scottie Scheffler. Not only was he the heavy favorite for this week's PGA Tour event, but he was looking for his third straight win this season after capturing victories at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and THE PLAYERS Championship.
After the first three rounds of action, Scheffler entered Sunday's final round in great position to accomplish the historic feat, sitting tied for the lead after 54 holes. But it was a logjam atop the Houston Open leaderboard coming into the final round with chasers like Thomas Detry, David Skinns, Alejandro Tosti, Stephan Jaeger, Taylor Moore and Akshay Bhatia, among others, all trying to overtake the World No. 1 for a crucial PGA Tour win.
They were all also vying for the biggest share of the Houston Open purse by earning a nice prize money payout for the week. How much money were they playing for this week, though? We have it all broken down with a full payout distribution and everything you need to know.
Houston Open purse 2024: Winner's prize money, total purse
The winner of the 2024 Houston Open will take home $1.638 million in prize money this week on the PGA Tour while also winning a standard non-signature event prize of 500 FedEx Cup points. The total purse at the Houston Open in the 2024 season is set at $9.1 million this year, which is an increase from the last time the tournament was played in the fall of 2022. It may not be the same money we saw at the API or THE PLAYERS or that we will see at The Masters , but it's still a nice haul for a week's work on the golf course.
Houston Open payout distribution by finishing position in 2024
Here's a look at the full 2024 Houston Open payout distribution for every finishing position, all the way from the winner's prize money of $1.638 million to the 83rd and final player to make the cut and play the weekend, who will take home $16,289.
The winner of the Houston Open is the only player who will take home seven figures in prize money this week, but all of the Top 22 finishers at Memorial Park will clear the six-figure mark this week on the PGA Tour.
There were a ton of players who made the cut as 83 players were tied for 65th or better after the first two rounds, which stretches out the purse for this tournament a bit at the bottom of the finishing positions. Even still, though, it's a fine payday for a good four days of golf, especially for those who didn't finish strong and stayed at the bottom of the leaderboard.

A Canadian, at long last, is the RBC Canadian Open champion again.
Sixty-nine years after Pat Fletcher was the last local to win the title, Nick Taylor claimed his country’s national championship. He shot a closing six-under 66, with birdies on the final two holes, at Oakdale Golf & Country Club in Toronto to finish at 17-under 281, then made a spectacular 72-foot eagle putt on the fourth playoff hole to defeat Tommy Fleetwood.
Taylor, 35, began the final round three shot off the pace of 54-hole leader C.T. Pan, having shot an opening-round 75 and just making the cut with a Friday 67. But then Taylor shot a course-record 63 on Saturday to get back into contention.
Sunday’s round got off to a hot start, as Taylor, who grew up in British Columbia, made four birdies in his first seven holes to take as much as a three-stroke lead at one point on the day.
While Taylor was in the clubhouse at 17 under, Fleetwood, trying to win his first career PGA Tour title, made a mad dash to the finish, carding birdies on the 16th and 17th to get to 17 under and then scrapping in a par 5 on the home hole to go to force the playoff.
The pair both birdied the 18th in the first extra hole, then parred it when playing again. Matching pars on the third playoff hole (par-3 ninth), led them to the 18th for a fourth time on the day. Taylor’s drive found the right rough, but he managed to hit a wood on the green to set up the incredible winning putt.
Taylor’s third career PGA Tour title earned him a first-place prize money payout of $1.620 million from an overall purse of $9 million. Here are the prize money payouts for the entire field.

2023 Canadian Open purse: Payout info, winner’s share

Money started the week. The proposed partnership among the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour and the Saudi Public Investment Fund. Shock. Confusion. Uncertainness. And money will end the week. Someone on Sunday will cash the winner’s check at the Canadian Open , and we’ll get to those specifics in a sec.
But first, let’s simply talk love. And falling for the game. For one, you can’t really debate that, and we all could use a break from the noise. But the intros to the sport, at least to me, are always a fun read. They’re sometimes relatable. They sometimes make you think.
On Wednesday, Adam Hadwin told his. He’s Canadian. And they’re playing his national open this week, and that’s a big deal. And a reporter asked him this: “About a national open, your national open, compared to everything else that’s going on, what is it about this tournament and tournaments like this that is maybe more towards the essence of why you got into this sport and what separates it from everything else that’s happening today?”
Well, let him tell ya.
“Yeah, I mean, I don’t think that any one of us really got started to play for money, let’s say,” Hadwin began. “Obviously that is a large reason of why we do what we do. I get to live a very comfortable life traveling the world, playing a sport that when I first started playing I didn’t have any — I mean, I didn’t know what was going to happen with it, to be honest. I grew up playing different sports. My dad was in the business, taught for a living. So I’ve been around it my whole life. I went out there when I first really started getting into golf and I enjoyed competing against myself, really.
“And I love the fact that I didn’t have to lean on anybody. That’s what I really love about this game. It sounds so selfish, but, you know, I remember playing high school sports and you would play and you could have the greatest game of your life and lose. Or could you have the worst game of your life and win. And I couldn’t deal with that. Mentally, I didn’t know how to get over that. Golf, if I play the absolute best that I can, I win. And if somebody else beats me, I shake their hand and I say congratulations. I can’t do any better. And if I play like crap, I got to get better. I know that. It comes from me.
“So to come through all of that and now to be on the like the game’s best stage in front of Canadian fans and to know that you have a chance to do something that hasn’t been done since 1954 is, I mean, that’s why we get up every morning and work as hard as we do to do that. So I really am looking forward to a great week. It’s unfortunate that it’s been overshadowed by this announcement.”
Good stuff.
And with that, here’s the money breakdown for the Canadian Open. The total purse is $9 million. The winner will collect $1.62 of that.

Every professional player in the field is paid for completing the event, but how much each player is paid at the 2024 The American Express from the correct 2024 The American Express full-field payout is based on their finish.

The 2024 The American Express prize money payout is set ahead of the event, with the PGA Tour adding money to the purse if more than 65 professionals make the cut to ensure all players are paid, as is the case this week.
What else is on the line

While this event offers a significant payday, the win comes with enhanced PGA Tour status. The winner gets berths into all four 2024 majors and The Players, and it goes a long way into getting that player into the 2025 Signature events.

RBC Canadian Open prize money: How much they all won
See how much Nick Taylor, Tommy Fleetwood, others won at at the RBC Canadian Open.
History was made Sunday in Toronto at the RBC Canadian Open on the PGA Tour .
The RBC Canadian Open was the final event before the 2023 U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club.
McIlroy was the defending champion heading into the week. You might recall McIlroy went after LIV Golf boss Greg Norman in the immediate aftermath of his victory last year.
At the height of his feud with Norman, McIlroy made it clear that his 21st PGA Tour victory was 'one more' than Norman ever achieved on the circuit.
Things have cooled off a little bit since then and McIlroy has now made it clear he wants to make a conscious effort to avoid the LIV sideshow.
The RBC Canadian Open is not a designated event but it still boasts a considerable prize purse of $9,000,000 , with the winner receiving a total of $1,620,000 .
This year - Canadian Nick Taylor made history as he became the first Canadian to win the tournament in 69 years after a four-hole playoff against Tommy Fleetwood .

2023 RBC Canadian Open: Prize Purse and Payouts by Position
By josh chandler | jun 10, 2023.
Breaking down this week’s RBC Canadian Open Purse, Prize money, and Payouts by position at Oakdale Golf & Country Club.
Despite its unfortunate slot on the golfing calendar, sandwiched in between last week’s elevated Memorial Tournament and the upcoming 123rd U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club, the 2023 RBC Canadian Open hasn’t failed to deliver exciting action this week from Toronto.
As has become the norm at one of the sport’s most historic events, the Canadian Open and its raucous and passionate fans have put on quite the show, this despite the event’s awkward spot on the schedule and its ‘non-elevated’ status in 2023.
The 9 million dollar purse for this year’s RBC Canadian Open along with the 1.62 million dished out to its winner is amongst the higher end of purses paid out to fields in non-elevated events this year.
With Rory McIlroy on the hunt for a Canadian Open three-peat and a tightly congested leaderboard heading into Sunday’s final round of this year’s RBC Canadian Open, the nation’s premier golfing event is perfectly positioned to deliver another exciting finish.
2020 Olympic Bronze Medalist, C.T. Pan, sits atop the leaderboard after three rounds of action at Oakdale. Pan (-14) made his return to action in April at the RBC Heritage following a lengthy absence from the sport due to a wrist injury.
The 31-year-old out of Taiwan who earned his first PGA Tour win at the 2019 RBC Heritage will look to close out PGA win number two on Sunday following rounds of 70, 66, and 66 across his first three days this week in Canada.
The quest for a second career win on tour won’t come easy for Pan, however, with several big names including Rory McIlroy lurking in his rearview mirror. Rory (-12) alongside both Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose sit just two shots back of C.T. Pan heading into the final round of action.
As for Canadian hope, both Nick Taylor (-11) and Corey Conners (-10) are well-positioned to make a run at the leader heading into Sunday, with the former having produced a blistering round of 63 on moving day that sent him flying up the leaderboard and in with a chance of earning his third career win on the PGA Tour.
Will a Canadian emerge victorious at his nation’s national open for the first time since 1954? That remains to be seen. Whoever does lift the historic trophy on Sunday evening, however, will pocket a cool 1.62 million dollars for their efforts. Here is this year’s complete prize breakdown by position for the RBC Canadian Open.

In addition to taking home a handsome share of the 9 million dollar purse at this year’s RBC Canadian Open, the winner at Oakdale will have also earned 500 FedEx Cup points in the season-long race to East Lake and the Tour Championship in the Autumn.
The golfing world turns its focus towards the third major of the year next week and Los Angeles Country Club for the 123rd playing of the U.S. Open.

2024 RBC Heritage odds, picks, field, predictions: Golf insider fading Rory McIlroy at Harbour Town
Sia nejad reveals his rbc heritage 2024 picks, props and sleepers for this week's pga tour event in hilton head, s.c..
Two of the PGA Tour's biggest stars will be paired in the same group when Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth tee off in the 2024 RBC Heritage beginning on Thursday at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, S.C. Ranked No. 1 in the world, Scheffler enters the 2024 RBC Heritage red-hot, having won three of his last four starts, including last week's Masters. Meanwhile, Spieth is trending in the opposite direction, having missed the cut in three of his last four starts. The two former Texas Longhorns are scheduled to tee off at 10:30 a.m. ET.
Scheffler is the overwhelming favorite in the 2024 RBC Heritage odds at +400, while Spieth is a +3500 longshot to win. Xander Schauffele, who finished eighth at the Masters, is the +1000 second choice. Rory McIlroy (+1200), Ludvig Aberg (+1200) and Patrick Cantlay (+1400) round out the top five choices in the RBC Heritage 2024 field. Before locking in any 2024 RBC Heritage picks, make sure you see the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad .
Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He's had incredible success in the outright and first-round leader markets and in betting head-to-head matchups. He also has been solid with his head-to-head matchups since last year's Charles Schwab Challenge, going 39-27-2 and returning 8.31 units over that span. That's a $831 profit for $100 bettors since May 2023.
Nejad also nailed 75-1 longshot Wyndham Clark as the outright winner at the Wells Fargo Championship. In 2023, SportsLine debuted "The Early Wedge," and in the first three months of the show, he hit two first-round leaders and three outright winners.
Now, Nejad has focused his attention on the 2024 RBC Heritage field and has locked in his best bets, top sleepers and favorites to avoid. See who they are at SportsLine .
Top 2024 RBC Heritage expert picks
One surprise: Nejad is completely fading Rory McIlroy, even though he is one of the favorites at +1200. McIlroy enters the week ranked No. 2 in the world. He will be making only his third career start at Harbour Town and just his second since 2010. In his last appearance at Hilton Head, he finished 41st in 2020.
Nejad doesn't like how McIlroy has played so far this season on the PGA Tour. He finished 66th in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am before coming in 24th at the Genesis Invitational. In March, he came in 21st against a watered-down field at the Cognizant Classic, 21st again at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and 19th at the Players Championship. After a third-place showing in the Valero Texas Open, he finished 22nd at the Masters. "I have no interest in betting McIlroy at a short number," Nejad told SportsLine.
However, Nejad is high on the chances of Will Zalatoris, who's listed as a +2800 longshot. No. 10 in the FedEx Cup standings, Zalatoris has returned from microdiscectomy surgery to correct two herniated discs in his back to post three top-10 and four top-25 finishes this season.
He enters Harbour Town playing some good golf. He has finished inside the top 10 in three of his last five events and is coming off a T-9 showing in last week's Masters. "Zalatoris doesn't have much history at the RBC, but his recent history screams that a win is near," Nejad said. See which other golfers to back at SportsLine .
How to make 2024 RBC Heritage picks
Nejad has locked in his best bets for the 2024 RBC Heritage and is backing several longshots, including one that is priced at more than +4000. This player is a "great course fit" and is a longshot who could surprise. You can see Nejad's PGA Tour picks only at SportsLine .
So which players should you target or avoid for the 2024 RBC Heritage, and which player in the RBC Heritage 2024 field could bring a huge payday at more than +4000? Check out the odds below, then visit SportsLine to see Sia Nejad's top picks for the 2024 RBC Heritage , all from the expert who is 39-27-2 on his last 68 head-to-head picks.

Chevron increases purse to $7.9 million at lpga's first major, share this article.
Chevron’s commitment to the LPGA went a step higher on Tuesday with the announcement of a purse increase to $7.9 million in 2024. The move brings the tour’s first major in line with the purses of other championships. The U.S. Women’s Open purse of $12 million paces the tour, with the KPMG Women’s PGA second at $10 million. The AIG Women’s British Open purse checks in at $9 million while Amundi Evian is $6.5 million.
Chevron, which moved the event away from Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, to Texas, last year, has increased the purse by $4.8 million since assuming title sponsorship in 2022. The company has committed to title sponsor the event through 2029.
Purses at the majors and CME Group Tour Championship have set the tone for the LPGA in reason years. In 2021, the LPGA’s five majors awarded $23 million in official money. This year’s tally of $45.4 million, which may yet increase as the season unfolds, represents a 97 percent increase in three years.
In addition, those who miss the cut at the Chevron will receive $10,000 to cover expenses, double what was given last year.
The LPGA’s total prize fund is up 79 percent in the last five years.
World No. 1 Nelly Korda comes into the Chevron fresh off of four consecutive victories . The event will be played April 18-21 at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas.

Here's the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2024 Chevron Championship
T here’s a broken record being played at LPGA Tour majors of late, but one that’s creating beautiful music to those competing in the events. As tour executives emphasize the goal of increasing the prize money payouts for each event, they’re making good on the promise. In 2023, all five of the tour’s biggest individual events paid out record amounts, including a $12 million payout from the USGA at the U.S. Women’s Open and a $10 million purse from the PGA of America at the KPMG Women’s PGA.
Will the trend continue in 2024—particularly with the public awakening going regarding women’s sports overall ? If this week’s Chevron Championship is any indication, it likely will. On Wednesday, tournament organizers in conjunction with LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan, announced that the overall prize money payout for the event would be $7.9 million , a jump from $5.2 million in 2023. The winner on Sunday at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas, will earn $1.2 million.
In the three years since Chevron became the sponsor, purses for the tournament, previously held in the Palm Springs area and best known as the Dinah Shore, have risen $4.8 million. And the tour and Chevron announced that the title sponsorship has been extended until 2029.
At the Chevron this week, even those who don’t make the cut are going to be getting a little more. All pros in the field will receive $10,000 for their participation, up from $5,000 last year.
Here are the prize money payouts for every golfer who makes the cut this week in Texas. Come back shortly after the end of the tournament and we’ll update the list with names an individual paydays.
