Polyphia Brings the 'Remember That You Will Die Tour' to Boston

Instrumental progressive rock band Polyphia is on tour celebrating their fourth studio album, Remember That You Will Die , released last October. The ensemble made up of guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage , bassist Clay Gober , and drummer Clay Aeschliman delivered a rousing performance to a sold-out crowd on October 25th at the Roadrunner . Together with progressive-jazz duo DOMi & JD Beck who supported the band on select tour dates in September and October, they gave Boston a remarkable night of genre-blending music.

Virtuosic prog-rockers on tour

Prog-rock virtuosos Polyphia head out on tour across North America in spring, hot off the back of their most recent album  Remember That You Will Die,  their fourth record and the first to hit the US top-40 charts. Known for their blistering guitar-work and impressive live performances, the band are a musical force to witness in person.

Formed in 2010, Polyphia first came to prominence when their guitar cover versions became viral sensations on YouTube. Initially, their own original records had them working in metalcore genres, known as one of the prime names of the djent metal movement. Before long, though, a gradual musical evolution across their subsequent records saw them experimenting with math-rock, progressive rock and even trap and hip-hop influences, to create a sound that is uniquely their own.

Best crowd, awesome bands and Polyphia is the best and I love it, always hyping up the crowd and every time its so fun to mosh and crowd surf and all the songs was just amazing.

Fuckin awesome, I love the mosh pits and I love the band, the crowd was awesome. Just everything went well. Venue was small, but when they opened the room up and and cool air was coming was amazing feeling, and the cotton candy vape smell disappeared.

By far the best concert I have ever been to it was so dope and would go 1,000,000 times again. I would recommend their show to anyone. Tim is a fucking god Scottie is wild and Clay 1 and Clay 2 are equally praise worthy.

Polyphia Announce Headlining 2023 North American Tour Dates

Prog virtuosos Polyphia have just announced a headlining North American tour featuring support from Domi & DJ Beck on most dates, with midwxst serving as the opener for a couple dates near the end of the run.

The group will be out in support of last year's standout album,  Remember That You Will Die , which features the breakout track "Playing God," Loudwire's 2022 Song of the Year . It's the fourth studio album from the Tim Henson -led band and marks a continued evolution in experimentation with a myriad of styles, further distancing themselves from the more metallic origins heard on their 2014 debut,  Muse .

Launching on Sept. 30 in Oklahoma, the trek will make 28 stops in all, including a Polyphia appearance a this year's Aftershock Festival on Oct. 7, with the final stop set for San Antonio, Texas on Nov. 3.

Hideki Matsuyama joins Boston Common Golf

BOSTON, Mass. – Boston Common Golf announced Tuesday that Masters and nine-time PGA TOUR winner Hideki Matsuyama will join the team and play alongside Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, and Adam Scott in the new, tech-infused, prime time golf league, TGL presented by SoFi.

“On behalf of Boston Common Golf and everyone at Fenway Sports Group, I want to express our deep appreciation to Hideki for joining this groundbreaking venture that will showcase team golf like never before,” said Boston Common Golf President & CEO Mark Lev. “Hideki’s calm demeanor and resilience will perfectly complement Rory’s dynamic skills, Adam’s experience, and Keegan’s tenacity, making us a formidable force. His historic Masters victory, technical precision, and unwavering work ethic have solidified his place among golf’s elite, and with him, we become a team of players representing four continents, each a major champion. Matsuyama has consistently ranked among the top golfers globally, including nine PGA TOUR wins, with his most recent victory coming at The Genesis Invitational in February, and eight additional international victories, reflecting his sustained performance and impact on the sport. Matsuyama currently ranks as No. 12 and has ranked as high as No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He has qualified to compete at the Presidents Cup five times (2013, ’15, ’17, ’19, ’22), the World Cup (2016), and the Olympic Games (2020, '24). Matsuyama became the first Japanese player to win a men’s major championship when he won the 2021 Masters Tournament, an achievement that earned him the Prime Minister’s Award in Japan. He also has top-six finishes in all four majors, including runner-up in the 2017 U.S. Open. As an amateur, Matsuyama was a World University Games gold medalist, claimed back-to-back Asian-Pacific Amateur Championships, won eight Japan Tour titles, and became the first Japanese amateur to play in the Masters Tournament. Born in Ehime, Japan, Matsuyama now resides in Sendai, Japan.
