Besides, consider that we are in the Yucatan forest, so the heat can be very suffocating during the summer. We recommend our clients to be prepared. Arrival to Chichen Itza. We spend two hours inside the archaeological site, but trust me, it's more than enough time to take all the photos you want and to thoroughly explore the site. Includes access to the site and guide.

Wonderful Cenote

A spectacular natural formation, it's a deposit of fresh water from the subterranean streams in the Yucatan Peninsula. It's very refreshing to swim in this natural wonder of the zone after the intense heat in Chichen Itza. We include access to the cenote, but if you are going swim just remember renting a life vest is mandatory, just to be safe.

Visit to the Magic town of Valladolid

A lovely park and a picturesque church are the perfect setting for this last stop. Many descendants of the Mayans have settled in this place and sell their handcrafts at low prices. Don't forget to try the marquesitas or the delicious esquites.

• Not having circulatory problems, since the ride from Riviera Maya to Chichen takes from 2-3 hours
• Please be on time. When one of our clients is late we have to wait for them and this results in delays for the rest of the clients.
• The soil in Chichen is uneven, and there are tree roots and gravel, so it is not recommended for people in wheelchairs.
• Visitors must know how to swim in order to enter the cenote (renting a lifejacket is mandatory)
• It is not recommended for young children
• Being physically and emotionally well
• People under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult / guardian
• Being able to walk, even if it is for short distances
• It is strictly prohibited to climb the ruins at Chichen Itza (due to conservation purposes)

In Mayan: Mouth of the water witches’ well, it is one of the main archaeological sites of the Yucatan Peninsula. The main building of this site is the Ku Kul Khan castle, which represents the Mayan civil calendar. The Cenote Ik Kil is located a few kilometers from Chichen Itza. In can take a refreshing swim. It has a depth of 60m and from the surface to the water is a height of 25 meters. The cenotes were sacred places for the Mayan culture, was the road to the underworld. The Maya performed sacrifices on them to honor their gods.

Ek’Balam

We ended the day visiting Ek’Balam, in Maya: Black Jaguar. This site had its splendor at the time of the ruling Ukit Le’k Kan Tok whose tomb is located in the main building, known as The Acropolis where they highlight their wonderful plaster friezes where this represented the royalty of the era. Other buildings that stand out are the twins and their ball field as well as the beautifully preserved Mayan stelae with three glyphs.

Excelente experiencia. Hugo un 10. Disfrutamos como niños pequeños escuchando sus explicaciones. Todo muy profesional, puntuales, bien organizado, no tuvimos que preocuparnos por nada. Javier el conductor muy bien tambien. Ek Balam nos gusto mucho, el baño en el Cenote una experiencia muy recomendable. En Hubiku visitamos tambien en museo del tequila, visita bastante rapida pero aprovechosa ya que pudimos degustar varios tequilas distintos. La comida, tambien en Hubiku tipo bufet, excelente, a destacar la cochinita pibil. En Chichen Itza disfrutamos de la experiencia de Equinoccio y a pesar de que estuvo casi todo el dia nublado pudimos ver la sombra de la serpiente proyectada en la piramide.

Hicimos tres excursiones con ellos:

Tulum – Coba – Akumal (impresionante las tres…disfruté sobre todo el nado con tortugas, era la primera vez que hacía snorkel)

Chichen Itza – Hubiku – Ek Balam (Chichen Itza = es obligada, fue inolvidable para nosotros, Ek balam maravilloso = agujetas 🙂 y el Cenote fue impresionante, agua fría, pero vale la pena bañarse)

Biosfera de Sian Ka´an & Punta Allen. Esto si es disfrutar del Caribe, el paseo en lancha observando, los tipos de aves, tortugas, delfines en su hábitat natural. Comer comida casera al pie de la playa es todo un lujo, luego una siesta en una hamaca y disfrutar del silencio de la naturaleza son cosas que no tiene precio. Los guías Pablo y Manuel y los choferes Orlando, Salvador y Joel, geniales, profesionales. Todo muy bien organizado, los guías siempre preocupándose de que estuviéramos bien, de pasarlo lo mejor posible, además llevan una neverita con bebidas frescas para todo el día. Todo el mundo se queja de madrugar pero de verdad el esfuerzo merece la pena. Llegar los primeros, cuentas con la ventaja de hacer fotos espectaculares sin gente a tu alrededor. Los grupos son reducidos, eso me gustó mucho, (un saludo a todos). Desde que subes al vehículo te brinden ese calor humano, simpatía, respeto y educación. Me encanta la puntualidad y la seriedad de esta empresa. Magnifica excursion, puntualidad, muy buena organización, gran profesionalidad de Pablo que junto con Orlando forman un equipo estupendo. Hemos hecho esta excursión, y la verdad es que es más que recomendable por muchos motivos. En primer lugar, la puntualidad a la hora de recogida, en grupos pequeños, las visitas realizadas y la profesionalidad tanto del guía como del conductor (Jesús y Luís respectivamente, un saludo).

La visita a Chichén Itzá es obligada y fue inolvidable para nosotros. Además, fuimos de los primeros grupos en llegar. El cenote Hubiku es impresionante, sin palabras. La comida de buffet, muy bien. La visita a Ek’ Balam también es obligada, pues es otro regalo para los sentidos. Además, nos llovió y aún fue más mágica.

Hicimos dos exursiones con ellos

Todo son buenas palabras para esta empresa. No nos falto de nada.

Puntuales y madrugadores (llegas a los sitios sin que esten saturados) Las fotos no estan llenas de gente. Bebidas frescas que son muy importantes Jesus nuestro guia fue encantador y explicaba la historia para que todo el mundo lo entendiese Los grupos son pequeños por lo que te enteras de todo, muy personalizado. Enmanuel, el chofer es un crack estuvimos super agusto con el.

Son todo facilidades a la hora de contratar, pagar y contactar con ellos.

Raul muy atento, en la excursion de Tulum / Coba / Akumal no pudimos hacer Akumal porque hubo mal tiempo, Raul hizo todo lo posible para meternos otro dia y asi fue, nos vino a buscar Enmanuel a nosotros solos y nos llevo a hacer hasta akumal, guia de buceo para nosotros y vuelta al hotel. Eso fue un superpunto para ellos. No todo el mundo se preocupa, si las condiciones meteorologicas son malas te quedas sin hacerlo y listo. Raul estuvo en contacto via Whasapp en todo momento para que todo saliese fenomenal.

No os arrepentireis de haber contratato con esta empresa! Son los mejores!!! Se lo recomiendo a todo el mundo

Esta es un excursión que merece la pena si vas a Mexico de vacaciones! Todo el mundo se queja de madrugar pero de verdad el esfuerzo merece la pena. Nuestro guía fue Jesus,solo puedo decir..un profesional 100% Como te recogen muy temprano, en algunos hoteles no hay ni café,así que los de la agencia tienen el detalle de darte un plátano,unas galletas y un zumo ; antes de emprender el viaje hacen una parada para completar el desayuno.

Llegamos los primeros, cuentas con la ventaja de hacer fotos espectaculares sin gente a tu alrededor,a esa hora no hace tanto calor lo que se agradece. Puedes disfrutar del paisaje sin tanto agobio de gente.

Los grupos son reducidos y muy personalizados,eso me gusto mucho. Desde que subes al vehículo te brinden ese calor humano,simpatía,respeto y educación.

Me encanta la puntualidad y la seriedad de esta empresa. Tengo que darle mi mas sincero agradecimiento a Raul por ayudarme a elegir las excursiones que mas se adaptaron a mis necesidades en calidad y precio.

Las excursiones que hice en el pack Chichen-Ekbalam-Cenote fueron excelentes en todos los sentidos al igual que la de Tulum-Coba-Akumal.

Recomendaré excursionesrivieramaya.es a cualquier persona que conozca y quiera ir a la Riviera Maya.

Excursión casi obligatoria, Chichén Itzá una pasada y explicado por Jesús hace que sea aún más interesante, el cenote Hubiku es muy bonito y esta bien habilitado para darse un bañito, la comida… Bueno mejor que la excursión de Tulúm y Kobá pero se podría mejorar y Ek’Balam a mi gusto mucho es donde mejor se aprecian los glifos mayas y los tallajes están muy bien conservados. Aspectos a mejorar, la comida quizás, y que coincidimos con un grupo de 12 que ya no es un grupo tan pequeño y el viaje entre recoger a unos y otros se hace un poco pesado… A destacar la profesionalidad de Raúl preocupandose de que salgan bien las cosas y sobre todo Ismael y Jesus, (chofer y guía) que son fantásticos en su trabajo y como personas.

Hicimos la excursión el día de nochevieja, y aunque el madrugón fue importante, mereció absolutamente la pena. Te recogen temprano para evitar colas y las horas más fuertes de calor. El guía muy paciente y bien formado te iba explicando cosas curiosas desde que te montas en la furgoneta. Además tiene toda la paciencia del mundo para contestar dudas, hacerte las fotos que quieras,etc. He de decir que fuimos sólo 4 personas, por lo que fue mucho más cómodo e interesante. Además llevan una neverita con bebidas frescas para todo el día. Después de Chichén, fuimos a darnos un refrescante baño en el cenote Hubiku. El sitio es espectacular, aunque el agua un poco fría,pero fue una experiencia preciosa. Finalmente llegamos a Ek Balam, que me pareció aún más precioso que Chichén. Ver allí la caída del sol y tomar las 12 uvas en horario español fue algo inolvidable. En resumen, los recomiendo al 100%: profesionales, puntuales y de confianza. “Absolutamente recomendable”

Las 2 palabras del título resumen la impresión y sensaciones recibidas en pareja en los 2 días consecutivos que pasamos con los miembros (locales) de esta empresa española, cuyas rutas vimos que empezaban a copiar “los grandes”.

Atención y profesionalidad, incluso salvando pequeños tropiezos mecánicos, con Raúl pilotando desde la “base” agenda y timing.

Restaurantes para los 8 que éramos, en solitario, así como cenotes, pirámides “antes de las masas”, días que dan para todo, y que “los grandes” dividen a varios días…creo que todo ello sintetiza la idea de la calidad de esta elección, sin necesidad de muchos más datos, que se centrarían sin duda en los contenidos, bien estudiados y recomendables, así como añadir que no cogimos un 3er día planeado con ellos por el tiempo pronosticado, y eso que era el único libre que nos quedaba.

Más tarde, en el aeropuerto, de vuelta, coincidimos con ex-compañeros de excursión que nos contaron que la misma empresa anuló por esa inadecuación de condiciones meteorológicas su actividad programada, no como otros “grandes” que meten “a embudo” lo concertado…

Acabo de llegar de hacer esta excursión , que decir de todo lo que vimos, nos contaron y del grupo tan maravilloso que reunieron. Ha siso espectacular,David y Jesus de matrícula y Raúl en todo momento pendiente de todo. Fuimos ayer a esta excursion. Lo tienen muy bien pensado, madrugas bastante, pero os aseguro que merece la pena llegar de los primeros a chichenitza ( o como se escriba), cuando aun el sol no pega tan fuerte. El guia, Pablo, es un crack, disfruta de su trabajo, te explica todo al detalle y te hace retroceder en el tiempo y entender cada resquicio del lugar. Tuvimos un problema en el cenote de ik kil, que cuando llegamos estaban haciendo el campeonato del mundo de salto de trampolin de red bull alli, no pudimos acercarnos al agua, pero en vez de ese cenote nos llevaron a otro que estba cerca. INCREIBLE!!!!! Mucho mejor que el tan conocido ik kil, eramos 4 en la excursion ( cosa que tambien agradecimos ya que siendo tan pocos te mueves mucho mas rapido, al ir a hacer compras tardas menos, al baño…….al escuchar las explicaciones, hacer fotos…….. Gracias a estos señores estamos teniendo una luna de miel increible, ya hemos cogido otras dos excursiones con ellos.

Hola!! Fuimos de luna de miel a Riviera Maya y contratamos esta excursión. Estamos muy contentos, tanto con el personal como con la excursión en sí. El guía (Pablo) muy atento y formado. Nos explicó muchisimas cosas que nos facilitaron la comprensión de la historia maya y nos ayudó a imaginarnos cómo había sido la vida en estas ciudades que visitamos. Además de los lugares visitados y la atención del guía, destacar que se realiza en pequeños grupos, lo que favorece el transporte (viajamos en coche-furgón de 8 ó 10 plazas, muy comodo) y la movilidad, al ser menos gente, nos movemos más rápido y todos podemos estar cerca del guía para escuchar sus explicaciones. Así mismo, llevaban preparada una neverita con refrescos varios, agua y nos dieron un pequeño desayuno, lo cual es un detalle a tener en cuenta. También me agradó que no tuvieramos que pagar nada hasta que nos recogieron en persona para iniciar la excursión… al ser españoles y contratarla por internet… ya sabeis, el miedo a los timos, jejejeje pero nada más lejos, la empresa super legal. Como puntos menos favorables, hablaría del madrugón que nos dimos para salir a la excursión, ya que desde donde estábamos (grand palladium en riviera maya) hay sobre 2 horas de viaje. Otros compañeros de la excursión venían todavía de más lejos y llevaban una hora de viaje cuando nos recogieron a nosotros… Cierto es que, como nos comentó el guía, es mejor llegar temprano a Chichén Itza, ya que cuando nosotros ya habíamos acabado la visita, había una cola tremenda de gente para entrar de grupos que habían llegado una hora después. Pero no deja de ser un madrugón, jejejeje. Por otro lado, no es una excursión que recomiende en días o épocas de calor intenso, ya que tanto Chichén Itza como Ek’Balam son ciudades completamente descubiertas, a la interperie, con poca sombra y no junto a las ruinas, por lo que se pasa muy mal en un día fuerte de calor. Pero claro, de esto no tiene la culpa nadie!!! jejejejeje Nosotros tuvimos suerte y tuvimos el día un poco nublado… y aún así, pasamos calor. Y por otro lado, el bufet de comida que incluía la excursión era bastante pobre y la bebida no estaba incluida… Pero vamos, en conclusión, decir que recomiendo sin lugar a dudas la empresa y los profesionales que nos atendieron. Hola a todos! En agosto tuvimos la suerte de viajar a la Riviera Maya. Como casi la gran mayoría de la gente que realiza este viaje, dudamos si contratar las excursiones desde España o buscarlas directamente allí (en los foros pone que son más baratas). Finalmente decidimos confiar en esta empresa y desde luego, acertamos. En todo momento se preocuparon porque todo saliera tal y como esperábamos. Se nota su gran responsabilidad y buen hacer. Estuvimos hace 20 dias en Riviera Maya y en principio dudamos en contratar las excursiones con agencias externas al hotel por el tema de fiabilidad. Desde el primer momento, Raul nos dio muchísima confianza. Tanto él como Ana estuvieron pendientes de nosotros en todo momento, escribiéndonos en varias ocasiones para hacernos recomendaciones acerca de lo que veríamos y necesitaríamos para las excursiones. Nosotros hicimos dos con ellos. Chichen Itza, IkIl y EkBalam y Tulum, Coba y Akumal. Ambas interesantísimas. Nuestros guías (Luis y José) de origen Maya, se notaba que sabían de lo que nos hablaban. Hola, mi marido y yo hemos realizado esta excursion en julio este año y hemos quedado enca tados en general con todo lo ofrecido x esta empresa. Hemos aterrizado de Riviera Maya el pasado sábado y recomiendo esta empresa por diferentes motivos. En primer lugar contrastando esta excursión con la que te ofrecen en el hotel, es un pack mas completo porque incluye Ek’ Balam por el mismo precio. Eramos un grupo reducido de 9 personas y fuimos los mas tempranos en realizar la visita, con lo que no encontramos excesivos turistas. Tanto el conductor Mario como el guía Manuel destacaron por su profesionalidad. Otra cosa que me gustó, me permitieron pagar en el momento de realizar la excursión, sin pagar por adelantado cuando realice la reserva, es un voto de confianza por su parte.

Acabamos de volver de pasar una inolvidable semana en la Riviera Maya y simplemente quería dejar un comentario de recomendación de esta empresa y su gestión. Allí te encuentras multitud de ofertas y nosotros que lo llevábamos contratado desde España, llegamos a dudar si nos habíamos equivocado, pero al hacer la primera excursión ya nos dimos cuenta de que habíamos hecho lo correcto. El trato es cercano y son españoles (que siempre da más confianza), grupos pequeños de turistas españoles o de habla hispana (al contrario que en la mayoría de las excursiones que vimos, en las que había grupos enormes con nacionalidades de todo tipo que impedían a los guías contar las cosas en condiciones) Pero sobre todo, está todo muy bien pensado para optimizar los viajes. Por ejemplo se madruga mucho, con lo que consigues ver los templos antes que nadie y sin tanto calor. Se aprovechan los viajes para contarte muchas cosas interesantes y siempre con un trato muy personalizado. Te explican con detalle los gastos y si encontráis alguna oferta mejor, siempre te ayudan a ver por qué te ofrecen ese precio (siempre hay truco). Si estáis dudando, desde luego esta empresa es una gran opción. Que disfrutéis!!!

Acabamos de llegar de la Riviera Maya. Elejimos esta empresa para las excursiones y el pack 5 que incluía esta excursión. Es de las que no se deben dejar de hacer. Aunque les digan que les recojan en el hotel a las 5:30, no se preocupen pues está amaneciendo. Es genial llegar y ver que eres de los primeros, poder hacer fotos sin nadie entre tu cámara y la pirámide. La excursión, genial, especialmente por el guía Alejandro que hizo un buen equipo con el conductor Mario. Me gustó que el gúia que sabía muchísimo, fuera humilde y en aquellas preguntas astronómicas que le hacía y no estaba seguro, me dijera que no sabría decirme, dice mucho de su profesionalidad. Especialmente porque soy arqueoastrónomo y sabría si se inventa las cosas o no. Nos estuvo entreteniendo durante todo el viaje, dándonos explicaciones de la cultura maya, ojalá tengan la suerte de contar con este guía. El baño en el cenote, genial, aunque muy apurado de tiempo, 1,5 horas para baño y comida, pero da tiempo. Y muy refrescante. No está tan fría como dicen. Y me sorprendió Ek Balam , yacimiento reciente, descubierto hace 20 años y que últimamente se está explotando turísticamente, es mejor incluso que la pirámide de Coba, un poco más baja pero más bella. Explicaré las otras dos excursiones en las mismas.

Ha sido una experiencia increible. Cultura, belleza natural y arqueologica, todo mezclado con el buen humor de Manuel el cazador maya y Luis “el pajarito” que te hacen sentir como en casa. Tanto esta excursion como la de Tulum-Cobá-Akumal una pasada ambas. El cenote Ik Ill es precioso y muy refrescante para esta humedad, al igual que la experiencia de hacer snorkel con tortugas en Akumal… IMPRESIONANTE!!! Realizamos la excursión la semana pasada, ya de vuelta a España, en primer lugar mi enhorabuena a Vicente, guía comprometido y gran profesional, con multitud de información y apasionado por su trabajo. Gracias Vicente por tu trabajo, por tu esfuerzo, ya que se notaba que esos días estabas cargado de trabajo y lejos de tu familia. La excursión merece la pena, el cenote es espectacular y en las visitas se realiza una visita guiada donde Vicente te muestra y explica con fotos e ilustraciones los pormenores de esta sociedad tan increíble. Por ponerle una pequeña pega en Chichén Itzá no se llega a ver el edificio del observatorio, la ciudad antigua y algún edificio más, pero es que simplemente no da tiempo. Tienes que elegir o comprar en las mil tiendas o profundizar algo más en las ruinas de la ciudad. Resumiendo un gran día, ambiente muy bueno en el tour, visitas excelentes (teniendo en cuenta la restricciones de tiempo) y el diez lo pone D.Vicente nuestro afanado guía. He estado con mis hijos en la segunda quincena de julio. Excursión fabulosa, y profesionales como la copa de un pino. Puntuales, madrugadores (pero vale la pena). Entramos en Chichen Itzá cuando aún no habían puesto ni los puestecitos de venta de recuerdos, casi lo vimos en solitario. Las explicaciones de Abraham, muy buenas. Grupo reducido de 9 personas, bebidas fresquitas todo el rato. Relación calidad-precio inmejorable. Si vuelvo a la Riviera Maya (¡¡¡ojalaaaaa!!!), lo que me queda por ver, lo contrataré con ellos. Acabamos de volver de Riviera Maya con mi marido y mis hijos y comentaros que las excursiones que hemos hecho con ellos fenomenal, a pesar de los madrugones, merece la pena porque llegas los primeros a los sitios, lo cual no hace tanto calor, no haces colas, no pillas las aglomeraciones de las demas excursiones y los grupos son reducidos, nosotros eramos 16 personas en la furgoneta, limpias, fresquitas y con bebidas todo el día. Las explicasiones de nuestro guía José (muy bromista) correctas. Recomendaremos a nuestro amigos que si van a Mexico contraten con vosotros, excursiones mas baratas que otras agencias, eficacia y dirversion asegurada. Hasta la próxima chicos ….

Excursiones Riviera Maya es diferente del resto de los touroperadores que ofrecen excursiones … aquí no se va en autobús con 60 personas más, son grupos reducidos de 8 o 9 personas con guías que te muestran los encantos de ésta tierra, especial mención a Jose que fue nuestro guía el pasado 24 de mayo.. lo recomiendo a todos. Excursiones impresionantes desde el principio. Gracias a Charlie y a Abraham por hacernos pasar unos días estupendos. Recomiendo a todo el mundo hacer el paquete de excursiones de chichen, sian kaan y coba – tulum. Nosotros fuimos del 12 al 20 de mayo y aunque hace mucho calor, llegas los primeros y te ahorras las colas de la entrada y el bochorno insoportable que puede hacer en la pirámide por al mediodía. Nosotros hemos estado a principios de mayo en este maravilloso lugar y volvimos enamorados de la Riviera Maya. Este excursión en concreto nos gustó mucho. Luis con sus explicaciones nos enganchó desde el primer momento y al tratarse de un grupo pequeño de personas hubo muy buen ambiente en todo momento. El cenote increíble, un lugar idílico. Y Ek balam fue muy entretenida. Estamos deseando volver para seguir conociendo ese lugar tan bonito. Somos dos matrimonios que los días 8 y 11 de abril realizamos las excursiones de Chichen y de Tulum, estupendo el trato y las explicaciones de nuestro guía Jorge. Por problemas en el mar se suspendió el nado con tortugas en Tulum y nos devolvieron la parte proporcional del dinero, después de haberlo intentado el día 12, lo que demuestra la profesionalidad de esta agencia. 100% Recomendable Nosotros hicimos esta excursión a finales de septiembre del 2012, estaba un poco nublado pero genial porque no nos achicharramos,madrugamos pero merece la pena para hacerse fotos sin gente en Chichen Itza. Regatear bastante en los puestecillos si compráis algo,siempre os dicen que sois su primera venta del día. En el cenote no había mucha masificación de gente y comimos bien, luego Ek balam nos supo a poco después de ver el Chichen Itza.

La excursión se hace corta y es una pena que, al tener tan poco tiempo para acostumbrarse al cambio horario, el cuerpo no responda como debería

Como recomendación, llevar ropa de colores claros y no llevar camisetas de tirantes ni pantalones muy cortitos. ¡Los mosquitos no te respetan nada!

Hace tres días que volví de RM y estoy encantada, y con esta excursión más todavía. La excursión GENIAL, estupenda…Sales muy temprano pero el llegar y tener todo para tí, las fotos únicas, sin gente, y sin el calor que hacía a las 11 cuando nosotros nos íbamos y la gente entonces llegaba. Mi mejor recuerdo en México, es el de esta excursión. Mis amigos, me habían hablado de que este destino era obligatorio, a pesar del tedioso viaje hasta Chichen-Itzá, del calor, de lo agobiante de los turistas… Sin embargo, la última palabra, siempre está por escribir. El planteamiento de la empresa, madrugando para no coincidir con la mayoría de los turistas, la organización, que permite visitar en el mismo día dos zonas arqueológicas distintas y, especialmente, las explicaciones de un guía, y persona, tan especial, como Juan Manuel Gonzalez, cuyos conocimientos, transmitidos con pasión, hicieron zambullirnos de lleno en la cultura maya, hicieron de ésta, una experiencia irrepetible, que ha quedado para siempre grabada en nuesta memoria. Totalmente recomendable.

Bueno bueno bueno ya estamos de regreso en España, Valencia, morenos, con aires renovados, y sobretodo, felices y encantados con los días vividos por el Caribe. Agradecer desde aquí tanto a Raúl como a Paco por la organización de los tours que hicimos. Sin su empeño no habríamos conocido tan a fondo los cenotes y las ruinas de Chichen Itzá, Ek Balam, Coba y Tulum. Hola, acabo de volver de estas maravillosas vacaciones, y tuvimos la suerte de confiar en Raul y Paco para hacer las excursiones con ellos… somos chilenos, (los unicos que ibamos en el tour) y lo que vimos fue increible, tanto a nivel de organizacion como el trato, fue excelente. Desde la preparacioón de los guías turisticos hasta el transporte, genial… mucha buena onda, y lugares inolvidables. Mi mujer, mi bebe de 10 meses que nos acompañó y yo, quedamos fascinados.

Bueno, los que vaís para allá, como vais a disfrutar de esta excursión, por lo que veais , por esos baños en el cenote, por las explicaciones de vuestro guia , que se mete de lleno en lo que cuenta, y por la buenisima atención de Raul. (seguro que Paco tambien pero no le conozco).

Ya echo de menos la Riviera y vosotros teneis mucha culpa de ello. Chicos adelante que el mundo es muy grande y lo tenemos que conquistar.

Espectacular todo en general, tanto las ruinas de Chichén como las de Ek´Balam y los cenotes impresionantes. Al principio me dio un poco de respeto pero luego nada. El agua super fresquita, que agustito se estaba. El señor José Mendoza (chofer-guia de la empresa) es un crack que explica todo super bien, que pasión le pone!! El trato de Raúl y Paco genial. Gracias chicos por hacernos disfrutar de unos días maravillosos, nunca lo olvidaremos.

A continuación, nos dirige al temazcal, una pequeña edificación de piedra que representa el vientre de la madre tierra en cuyo interior, a una elevada temperatura y entre aromas de eucalipto y romero, llega el momento álgido de esta experiencia catártica. Sudarán. Sentirán en su piel los efectos de esta sublimación emocional. Este es tan solo el inicio de un viaje a la esencia de la Riviera Maya, un enclave popular por su sol y playa, que alberga una cultura milenaria digna de vivir en primera persona.

De la mano de Soltour, el touroperador independiente líder en España y Portugal , viajamos al corazón de la Riviera Maya para descubrir los lugares y experiencias más auténticas de este rincón del Caribe. Y es que, aunque este sea desde hace décadas un destino estrella de descanso y de «vuelta y vuelta» para coger un buen moreno, lo cierto es que merece la pena cruzar el Atlántico para ir más allá e impregnarse de las riquezas mayas. Así que, «kóox» («vamos», en maya»), comencemos la aventura.

Y qué mejor que hacerlo, tras el momento más espiritual del temazcal, que visitando alguno de los cenotes más espectaculares. Acudimos a Yaaxmul, que significa monte verde, y es uno de los más de 10.000 registrados en la Riviera Maya . Muchos todavía continúan ocultos, clandestinos para los turistas. Estas cuevas suponen un sistema de ríos subterráneos infinitos, de hecho, es el laberinto de agua dulce bajo la tierra más largo del mundo. Entre ellos se comunican y ya se ha conseguido una interconexión de más de 500 kilómetros.

Lo denominan el xibalba, que en la mitología maya significa el mundo subterráneo regido por las divinidades de la enfermedad y de la muerte. Pero no teman, es un espectáculo natural. Nadamos custodiados por estalactitas y estalagmitas que la calcita del agua ha esculpido desde hace siete millones de años, «y este es uno de los más jóvenes», apostilla nuestro guía Juan, que ha buceado durante años por este inframundo. Los colores, el peso de la historia y el silencio que se respira en su interior bien podrían convalidarse por varias clases de yoga.

De vuelta a la superficie, acudimos a Akumal, un pueblo cercano al cenote, donde la experiencia natural se multiplica al vernos rodeados de tortugas nadando a nuestro alrededor . Nos sumergimos en las cristalinas aguas caribeñas para ver de cerca uno de los tipos de tortuga, la verde, más popular en la zona. Nos topamos con una de grandes dimensiones que cuenta con más de 60 años. Snorkel en mano las seguimos, con respeto y sin agobiarla. Allí nosotros somos los invitados.

Y es que este viaje es sin duda una conexión constante con la riqueza natural que impera en la zona. Otro ejemplo y excursión indispensable es la visita a la biosfera de Sian Ka´an, la mayor área protegida del Caribe mexicano.

Nos montamos en una lancha para surcar manglares frondosos y avistar delfines y nuevas tortugas. También localizamos a algún cocodrilo, pero no a su gran estrella «Pancho», un ejemplo de tres metros de largo, que hoy prefiere permanecer escondido. Hacemos una parada en la isla de los pájaros donde las fragatas sobrevuelan el peñón. Y seguimos navegando por esta reserva cuyo nombre traducido al castellano quiere decir «lugar donde comienza el cielo», para desembarcar en una piscina natural done darnos un chapuzón rodeados por el segundo arrecife de coral más grande del mundo, el mesoamericano, con más de 1.000 km de longitud. Es el momento de sacar la cámara e inmortalizar el agua turquesa y la arena blanca del lugar antes de embarcar de nuevo para tomar un tentempié en Punta Allen, una aldea en medio de la biosfera donde el reloj marca su propio tempo. Donde los minutos duran más de 60 segundos. Donde la calma impera y el tiempo se detiene.

Y es que, la gastronomía es otra de las experiencias que deben degustarse a fondo en la tierra de los mayas. Lo que la cocina mexicana ofrece es una delicatesen. De hecho, en una de nuestras excursiones visitamos el restaurant e Las Campanas, en Valladolid, la ciudad del gavilán blanco, un lugar auténtico conocido por su buena mano en los fogones a la hora de preparar comida casera. Probamos los nachos y los burritos de pastor, los chilaquiles verdes y yucaqueso. No teman por el picante, que allí saben que su nivel de aguante no es el mismo que el de los visitantes. Eso sí, avisen al camarero porque el ardor en la boca puede llegar en cualquier momento si no hay alerta previa.

Ya que estamos en Valladolid, caminamos por esta pintoresca ciudad donde sobresale la catedral de San Servasio , construida con los restos de una pirámide de una antigua ciudad maya de la que ya no quedan restos. Secuelas de la colonización, ya saben. Sin embargo, sí guarda aún la esencia de antaño en las calles y sus mercados.

Antes de emprender la ruta por los lugares más genuinos os de la Rivera Maya hacemos un receso en uno de los hoteles más zen, el Bahía Príncipe Grand Tulum, inspirado en la naturaleza, raíces y orígenes de toda la magia de Tulum. No será extraño que se cruce con diversos animales como mapaches o coatíes en sus instalaciones. Además, allí mismo puede visitarse la Fundación Eco-Bahía, un proyecto desarrollado por el Grupo Piñero centrado en la conservación de la naturaleza alrededor de sus propiedades en México. Un recorrido por las especies animales y vegetales endémicas que ayudará a comprender la necesidad de un turismo sostenible.

De perfil familiar, este resort es una opción segura, aunque si prefieren uno solo para adultos pueden reservar en el Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen, una oda al descanso y el lujo. Con un nuevo amanecer, emprendemos la marcha rumbo a la onírica isla de Holbox, un «must» de los amantes de lo exclusivo y lo auténtico. Antes de desembarcar dense un baño y reposen en las lenguas de arena blanca dignas de postal que custodian la isla. Se sentirán privilegiados. Ya en el pueblo, descubrirán que incluso en los destinos más turísticos aún quedan rincones vírgenes. En Holbox las calles son de arena, se puede ir descalzo como si la playa no terminara nunca. Un lugar idílico donde hacer una desconexión total del mundanal ruido.

Y si lo suyo es la historia, por supuesto, no pueden dejar pasar una visita a las ruinas de la majestuosa ciudad de Tulum, asomadas al mar del Caribe. Esta ciudad, cuyo nombre significa «muralla», se convirtió en un centro de veneración de la deidad conocida como «dios descendente». Aunque si de legado maya se trata, resulta inevitable no visitar el Chichén Itzá, ciudad que fue “descubierta” en 1842 y que al filo del año 900 d.C se consolidó como principal centro de poder en la península yucateca. La mítica pirámide (que esconde otras dos estructuras en su interior y supone una obra maestra de sabiduría matemática convertida en calendario solar) no es la más grande de la ciudad, pronto verán la luz nuevos tesoros mayas que permanecen ocultos bajo la frondosa selva.

Y es que en esta tierra de tradición, riqueza cultural y naturaleza siempre hay secretos por descubrir. Disfruten de cada aventura y abran sus sentidos para dejarse llevar por el espíritu maya. Ah, y no se olviden de dar un trago de buen tequila.

When you arrive to Chichen Itza you’ll enter the great Mayan city and the first thing you’ll see is the Chichen Itza Pyramid called El Castillo or “The Castle” which was built in honor to the great God Kukulcan a feathered serpent descending from the sky. You will have 2 hours onsite, one and a half hour with a guided tour and extra free time at the Mayan Ruins so you can explore on your own all the Chichen Itza Ruins and buildings.

After visiting Chichen Itza, you’ll be taken to a buffet lunch, where you’ll enjoy traditional Mayan food and refreshing drinks.

After having a great traditional buffet lunch, you will go and visit a Cenote and actually swim in it! The Cenotes were sacred to the Mayans and swimming in them will not only be amazing but also refreshing.

With the Chichen Itza Tour Plus you will also visit Valladolid, Yucatan, a colonial town in the middle of the Yucatan Peninsula really close to Chichen Itza. It Valladolid you can visit the main plaza where you’ll see the Cathedral and you will be able to do some shopping for souvenirs and crafts around.

Recommendations for the Chichen Itza Tour Plus

• 1. We have daily departures to Chichen Itza.
• 2. Pick-up time ranges from 7:00 am to 7:55 am depending on the location of your hotel or meeting point.
• 3. The guided tour in Chichen Itza lasts an hour and a half, the you have free time to explore the archeological site on your own.
• 4. The return time to Playa del Carmen is 9:00 pm *.
