Just back from another holiday with Caledonian. This was a 10 day stay in Italy. First of all our 2 drivers Simon and Tony were fabulous, so friendly, happy and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them, they made everyone feel comfortable. The overall holiday was great, lots to do if you wanted or relax at the resort, the decision was always yours. I’ve booked many holidays with Caledonian and will continue to do over hopefully many years.

Had numerous trips with this company from Skye to Disneyland and many in between. Recenrly doing the trip to Fort William/Glencoe and then another to Skye. Having everything included and reserved seating makes the trips so much more enjoyable. I wouldn't think twice about booking with one already for next month.

We went on our first tour with Caladonia travel to Alton towers for 2 days and Chester zoo on the way home. Would definitely recommend and will use them again in the near future. A big thank our driver Gordon who went out his way to keep everyone happy. 5? driver.

We visited the Glasgow branch which we had used before. Our advisor was Jason Paul who was very welcoming and knowledgable. We explained what we had in mind which involved several flights and car hire in some places. Jason listened and just over an hour later all our plans were in place. Great service and great staff who really do their job well.

We booked a holiday of a lifetime, over three weeks in Western Canada and Alaska with everything thrown in, but due to the covid pandemic it's cancelled. We received a full refund as requested and were kept informed and consulted at every step. When we feel it's time to rebook we will use Trailfinders without hesitation.

Such a great tour. Very active and on-the-go, so we were able to make the most of the time outdoors (instead of a bus). Had to call Globus three times before trip to get the final travel packet. Each time I called ,was told that someone would take care of this. Bus driver Glenn and tour guide Clive were great. Mic on bus kept cutting out and the people in the back of the bus could not hear. Would have like to have spent a day in Belfast and seen the Titanic museum ,All that Belfast was just a bathroom break and all I saw of Belfast was the washroom inside City Hall. If we had spent a day in Belfast I, wouldn't been so tried by the time we got to Scotland. Also would have like to have another in York. When we returned to London, somewhere from the time the bus arrived at the hotel till they unloaded the bags and put them on the luggage cart and bought them to the room, the porter broke my bag and the wheel came off. When I reported this to the hotel was told " these things happen", too bad, so sad " have your insurance company buy you a new bag". I had to try to get back home with a big with three wheel.

The tour started fine; more time in Glasgow would have been better. All we had was a ten-minute bus tour through Glasgow without any information about what was there. At the end of the day, all we got from the tour guide was restaurant suggestions. The travel packet states that we stopped at Loch Ness, but we did not. The tour guide stopped off the road at a parking lot, and we had to walk up a road to look through some bushes and trees and see a partial castle, apparently on Loch Ness. If you were short, you wouldn’t get to see anything. That does not stop at Loch Ness, and the stop at Loch Ness is also listed as a tour highlight for the day, which didn’t happen. There were so many stops we could have made but didn’t. When we stopped at Glenfinnan, the tour guide only talked about the Harry Potter reference, no mention of the Jacobite monument. The tour was constantly filled with Harry Potter references, the guide’s political opinions, and insufficient historical references. No one cares what the tour guide’s political views are; just do your job. Also, at the same stop, it was the only stop with food available, and there was only a little café where several people did not get their orders after they paid, and the tour guide did not care. Some of the people on the tour also missed the monument because the tour guide did not mention it. The Aberdeen Altens Hotel was a complete disaster. The hotel was out in the middle of nowhere. If you didn’t go on the optional excursion, then you were stranded at the hotel with minimal options, such as a pool, where you had to make an appointment to use. It was not available, the hotel had an escape room in the basement which sounds like to beginning of a horror movie, but thankfully it was not open that day, or you could take a taxi where the closet place was a ten minute drive. Still, everything was closed that day, and the taxis don’t drive around the city, so you must remember to take down the number to get back to the hotel. Also, the dinner at this hotel was a disaster; it took over three hours to get through a substandard dinner. The chicken was dry, the potatoes were terrible, the fishcakes were overcooked, and even the dessert was awful. The tour guide didn’t even stay for dinner, and then the following day, she explained that Globus knew about the problem with the amount of time it takes to get dinner and that there was nothing they could do about it. Yes, there is; use a different hotel, location, etc. The fact that this is a known problem and Globus does nothing is despicable. This hotel and location are terrible choices by Globus. The tour of The Royal Yacht Britannia was a waste of time. It seems like it was just a time waster until dinner. Overall, this tour was below satisfactory and not worth the money.

My first Insight Tour and it was amazing. Scenic tour of the beautiful countryside, towns, and historic sites of England, Scotland, Wales, and Republic of Ireland. Our Travel Director, Greg, was very professional, knowledgeable of the history, culture, food, music, and local 'celebrities'. Greg and our driver (Arthur - the best) worked together as a team, making our trip enjoyable, memorable, and fun. Always courteous, respectful, and conscientious of our time, safety, and well-being. The tour started off a bit disorganized but a change of guide and the experience improved with Neus as our tour guide. The itinerary was varied and the weather played its part. We had a small group who gelled well and we had fun. The accomodation was comfortable and the last night's stay at The Social Hub was excellent. We had a brilliant bus driver, Brendan who was very informative as well. Thank you to Neus our lovely tour guide and Brendan who drove us safely around Scotland.

Tour guide and bus driver were both excellent. Starting hotel was terrible and no where near the main area of Edinburgh. Breakfast there was a granola bar, croissant in a plastic wrap, a yogurt, and a juice box. Our hotel room in Inverness had a leaky ceiling which we reported to the front desk right away. They said they sent maintenance to fix the issue, but that evening it was leaking again. G Adventures itinerary is not reflective of the actual tour and for many extra activities listed there was no time to do them even if we had wanted to. Isle of Skye was a real highlight along with Inverness. We only received our tour vouchers the night before we left Canada and we had to call to get it. We will not consider G Adventures for any of our future travel needs.

This was my second G Adventures tour and it proved to be as enjoyable as the first one, which was the main reason my wife and I booked it. The small size of the tour group and the variety of people made it all the better. The tour offered a good balance between structured visits of major attractions and free time to explore on our own. I would not hesitate to recommend a G Adventures tour to anyone seeking a guided travel experience in the company of other like-minded travelers.

I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the Orkney Islands. Our guide, Rhys, was great company, knowledgeable and proactive, and the pace and itinerary suited us very well. Lots to do and see and it was good to have some free time also. 5/5 for Rhys and the tour experience in the Orkneys. One quibble (unrelated to Rhys or the time spent in the Orkneys) is that communication with Intrepid is not easy. I’m the build up we had a few questions, and getting answers was a little slow and a bit of an effort. Intrepid or Tour Radar should have human beings readily available to answer questions promptly, instead of relying primarily on bots and FAQs.

Intrepid needs to tighten up this tour. Two free afternoons is too much when one has only three days on the island. Either make the tour two full days or two full days with one full day free to make plans to go to Hoy or Rousay. Give people guidance on what to do on the free day.

He certainly made the tour more interesting and fun and told brilliant stories as we travelled along. He was extremely considerate with the needs of each individual in his group and his communication skills are second to none. I met some really lovely people too so all in all a wonderful trip with lots of fantastic memories.

There was a Mixup at the beginning of the trip regarding my booking and accommodation etc. The places visited were as scheduled. Times allowed in some places were far too short. Murray’s broad Scots accent made any information (mostly short) he provided hard to understand so this was very disappointing on the whole.

Disappointing. The guide was disengaged and rambled mostly to himself for 2 days. He seldom requested feedback from passengers and was quite abrupt when asked questions especially regarding drop off point after the tour. He was inaudible for the most part and seemed poorly informed.

The tour guide, Linda, was great as was the coach driver, Mike. The coach was very comfortable and the sites we visited were great. The tour was well organized and well executed. The meals were very good as well. The only thing making this “good” and not “excellent” is that I had to sleep on a pullout couch for three nights of the tour which much surprised me for something billed as a first class tour. So if you plan to go three to a room, be prepared for someone to be on a couch.

Overseas Travel Vaccinations

There has been a significant increase in travelling over the last decade or so with many of us travelling to more far flung destinations. As a result there has been an increase in preventable travel related illness.

If you’re visiting friends or family, backpacking on your gap year or heading off on a family holiday, you may require a Travel Health Assessment and also vaccinations to keep you safe. Many vaccinations are available for free on the NHS.

GP’s previously delivered travel health vaccines however, this service is now provided by your health board. To get the care and advice you need it is important that you seek an appointment in plenty of time before you travel.

We advise you to contact our services at least 8 weeks before your travel date .

Our main entrance has some steps however there is a lift and there is an alternative entrance at the back of the building. Attending your appointment

If you are unable to provide this information at the time of your appointment it may cause a delay in you receiving any necessary vaccinations and you may have to return at a later date. If you have children attending with you, please bring the child’s red book or details of any vaccinations the child has received in school.

If you have an appointment to receive your travel vaccinations and are no longer able to attend, it is important you tell us as early as possible. Late cancellation or not attending your appointment result in a cost to the NHS and denies others the opportunity to receive an NHS travel health appointment.

We will not vaccinate you with Covid-19 unless this is a requirement for entry for a country you are travelling too. There are very low numbers of countries that require this now and information on the up to date list can be found on the Government website for the country you are travelling to.

Routine Vaccines 

Before travelling to Hajj or Umrah it is recommended that you are up-to-date with routine vaccines for life in the UK, including:

• a minimum of 5 doses of a diphtheria, tetanus and polio-containing vaccine are needed in your lifetime to provide good long-term protection.
• two doses of MMR vaccine are needed in your lifetime to protect you against all three viruses
• see  NHS inform  and  NHS UK  for more information on the UK flu vaccine campaigns
• MenACWY vaccine at least 10 days prior to travel as part of the Hajj/Umrah visa.
