7 Most Popular Western Caribbean Islands & Cruise Ports
Some of the most popular cruise destinations in the Western Caribbean are Mexico, Bahamas, and Honduras. With so many great Western Caribbean Islands worth visiting, it can be overwhelming to choose where to go.
I can’t even keep track of how many Western Caribbean cruises I’ve taken, but definitely more than 6. I’ve been to nearly every port and can tell you they are all worth a visit.
Below, I list the most popular cruise ports in the Western Caribbean, including some islands and some destinations on the mainland. For each, I share my experience, tips, and the best things to do.
Some links on this blog are affiliate links, meaning I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you if you make a purchase through them. All opinions are my own, and I only recommend products and services I personally use and believe in. Thanks for your support!
Island Ports in the Western Caribbean
1. roatan honduras.
Roatan is an amazing spot with a cool mix of beach and jungle vibes. It’s a small island in Honduras, but it’s packed with fun stuff to do, like awesome beaches, ATV tours, and even a chocolate factory.
The snorkeling here is world-class because it’s right on the Mesoamerican reef, which is often considered the “Great Barrier Reef” of America.
I’ve been to Roatan twice in the past couple years and loved it each time. I’ve only visited it as a cruise port but am strongly considering it for a future week long vacation.
The first trip, we did an ATV tour around the island, hitting up a chocolate factory and a beach, and it was a bit scary but super fun.
The second time, I got to hold a monkey at an animal sanctuary (which was fun even in the pouring rain) and relax at a beach club.
Roatan is a great island for a mix of chill beach time and some active adventures. It’s also south of the hurricane belt, so it’s great to visit year-round.
Top Things to Do:
- Customizable Private Island Tour – This tour is a great way to do a lot of the top things to do in Roatan in one day with the help of a local guide. The tour includes a visit to a local community with time to shop and explore. You can also zipline, visit an animal sanctuary, spend time at the beach, tour a chocolate factory, or anything else that interests you.
- ATV Island Tour – The best way to see the small communities and rugged landscape of Roatan is on an ATV. Plus, it’s super fun if you’re an adrenaline junkie (like me).
- Snorkeling the Mesoamerican Reef – As I mentioned above, the snorkeling in Roatan is amazing. You can either take a snorkeling boat tour or snorkel directly off of one of the amazing beaches on the island .
Staying Longer? Best Place to Stay: Grand Roatan Caribbean Resort
Closest Major Airport: Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport (RTB)

2. Cozumel Mexico
Cozumel, a favorite on Western Caribbean cruise routes, is a small island just off Cancun’s coast. It’s a great place to rent a car and hop around between beach clubs.
Snorkeling here is fantastic since it’s on the Mesoamerican reef, just like Roatan. There is also a ton of natural beauty, and even a National Park.
I’ve been going to Cozumel since I was a kid, and it’s always been a blast, from getting my hair braided on the beach back then to now, where I love to rent a car and drive around the island.
The best part? Stumbling upon this tiny roadside shack and having the best mojito ever – it’s those little surprises that make Cozumel special.
Whether you’re lounging at a beach club or exploring the island, there’s always something fun to do here.
- Island Loop Drive – Rent a car and drive around the Southern Loop of the island. Some of the best stops are Alberto’s beach bar, Welcome to Miami (mojito referenced above), and Punta Morena Beach.
- Snorkeling the Mesoamerican Reef – Either take a snorkeling tour or rent gear from one of the beaches. Some animals you might see are turtles, sting rays, and tons of colorful fish.
- Punta Del Sur National Park – To see the more natural side of Cozumel, visit the national park. Some of the best spots to hit are the mangrove lookout tower, with views of the mangrove all the way to the ocean or the lighthouse with views for miles down the coastline.
Staying Longer? Best Place to Stay: Westin Cozumel
Closest Major Airport: Cozumel International Airport (CZM)

3. Falmouth Jamaica
Falmouth, Jamaica, might have a bit of a reputation for being unsafe, but don’t let that stop you from visiting – with a few smart precautions, you’re set for an amazing time.
This place was the highlight of my latest Western Caribbean cruise, and for good reason. When I was there, we had this awesome experience floating down a river, which was super relaxing and fun.
Then, we topped it off with a local food tasting at the beach – seriously, the flavors are incredible!
Falmouth is full of energy and has a real authentic Jamaican vibe. It’s a must-visit, especially for those who love combining a bit of adventure with some tasty local eats.
Just remember to stay aware of your surroundings, and you’re in for a fantastic time.
- Blue Hole – This is probably the most unique thing to do in Falmouth. You can climb the (slippery) waterfalls to explore and swim in the natural pool at the base. It’s stunning.
- River Tube Float – Floating the river on an inflatable tube is a great way to see the Jamaica jungle. It’s mostly a slow float, but there are some rapids for a small thrill.
- River Bamboo Raft – Similar to floating the river on an inflatable, you can also take a guided tour to go down the river on an authentic bamboo raft . There are no rapids on this option.
Staying Longer? Best Place to Stay: R oyalton Blue Waters Montego Bay, An Autograph Collection All Inclusive Resort
Closest Major Airport: Montego Bay (MBJ)
4. Ochos Rios Jamaica
Ocho Rios in Jamaica is a place I haven’t personally visited yet, but if it’s anything like Falmouth, travelers are in for a real treat.
Known for its stunning waterfalls, lush scenery, and vibrant culture, Ocho Rios is a popular spot on many Caribbean cruise itineraries.
From what I’ve heard, it offers a mix of adventurous activities like zip-lining and relaxing beach time. The area is renowned for its natural beauty, with attractions like Dunn’s River Falls being a major draw.
Though I haven’t experienced Ocho Rios firsthand, it’s only 90 minutes from Falmouth, so I can assume it is equally as beautiful and worth visiting.
Closest Major Airport: Ian Fleming International Airport
5. Georgetown Grand Cayman
Georgetown in Grand Cayman turned out to be a bit of a letdown on my recent Western Caribbean cruise. The first snag was that it’s a tender port, meaning you have to take a small boat from your cruise ship to the shore.
This process alone took us over an hour, and I really missed just being able to walk off the ship straight into the port.
When we finally got there, the place was super crowded – four ships were in port that day! Getting a taxi was a hassle, and by the time we got to the beach, all the chairs were already taken.
Another bummer was seeing the state of the famous Seven Mile Beach. It used to be this stunning spot, but a hurricane a few years back had pretty much washed most of it away. Many of the beach clubs are gone, and the beachfront that’s left is much smaller than before.
In hindsight, maybe trying out Stingray City, a popular attraction in Grand Cayman, would have been a better choice. I haven’t been there in over a decade, and it might have made for a more memorable day.
So, if you’re heading to Georgetown, you might want to plan your day a bit differently to make the most of it, especially considering these challenges.
- Stingray City – Stingray city is a shallow sandbar in the North Sound where you can interact with friendly southern stingrays in their natural habitat. The experience allows you to swim, snorkel, and even feed them. This is the most popular thing to do in Grand Cayman and my top recommendation for what to do. Funny story – I visited Stingray City as a kid immediately after Steve Erwin was tragically killed by one and I was so terrified the whole time, I clung to my dads back. But don’t worry, this excursion is very safe.
- Seven Mile Beach – If you’re interested in a beach day, I recommend Coral Beach Club on Seven Mile Beach. It’s the best option if you want to rent a chair and have bar/restaurant service. However, it can be very crowded and you need to take some steps to get from the seating to the water due to erosion.
Staying Longer? Best Place to Stay: Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman
Closest Major Airport: Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM)
6. Cruise Line Private Islands
Many major cruise lines have a private island in the Western Caribbean. Most of these are small island in the Bahamas that can only be reached via cruise ship.
The benefit to cruise private islands is you can have free food and use your beverage package, the same as onboard the ship. It’s a great way to have a relaxing beach day in a controlled environment without having to worry about getting transportation or navigating around.
The downside to private islands is they lack the local culture and exploration that you will find at other destinations.
Royal Caribbean – CocoCay
CocoCay is my favorite private island in the Caribbean. It’s a dynamic destination featuring Thrill Waterpark with its towering water slides, calm Oasis Lagoon, and the luxurious Coco Beach Club.
Disney Cruise Line – Castaway Cay
Disney’s private island in the Bahamas is a family-friendly paradise with activities and areas catering to all ages, including character experiences, water play areas, and quiet adult-only beaches.
Norwegian – Great Stirrup Cay
This island offers beautiful beaches, a range of water sports, and various dining options. The island is known for its snorkel garden and beaches.
MSC – Ocean Cay
Known for its emphasis on ecological sustainability and marine conservation, Ocean Cay is a large, serene destination with stunning beaches and activities geared towards nature lovers.
Carnival – Half Moon Cay
Known for its crescent-shaped beach, this idyllic island in the Bahamas offers horseback riding, stingray adventures, and a tranquil environment for relaxation.

Other Western Caribbean Ports
7. belize city belize.
Belize City is a super popular Western Caribbean cruise destination. I haven’t been before, but am planning a visit for 2024.
The city streets are lively with music and great street food. If you’re into history, the Belize City Museum is a must-see. It used to be a prison and now it’s full of cool stories about Belize’s past. There’s also this old Swing Bridge that still works.
For those who love nature, the Belize Barrier Reef isn’t far. It’s a great place for snorkeling and seeing all sorts of fish and coral. You can also take a river tour to see crocodiles or visit the Community Baboon Sanctuary to see howler monkeys.
Overall, Belize City seems like a great mix of city life and nature. I can’t wait to visit and share all my experiences with you.
Closest Major Airport: Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport
8. Costa Maya Mexico
Costa Maya, a little port town in Mexico a few hours south of Cancun, is a cool spot that’s mostly visited by cruise ships. I’ve been there twice and had a blast, but it feels like I’ve pretty much seen and done everything there is to do.
It’s not really a place people go to for a standalone vacation, as it’s mainly geared towards cruise passengers.
Near the port, there are a few beaches you can check out, but most of the action is about an hour’s drive away. The big draws here are the Chacchoben ruins and Bacalar lake, which are both worth your time.
So, while Costa Maya has its charms and is definitely worth a visit, keep in mind that you might have to travel a bit to get to the really cool stuff. After a couple of visits, you might feel like you’ve seen all it has to offer.
- Chacchoben Ruins – The Chacchoben ruins are an archaeological site located around 90 minutes from the Costa Maya cruise port. These ruins are believed to have been inhabited by the ancient Maya civilization from around 200 BC to 1100 AD. One of the most prominent features of the site is the Great Acropolis, a towering structure that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding jungle. If you’re interested in exploring the ancient wonders of the Mayan civilization, a visit to the Chacchoben ruins is a must-see.
- Bacalar Lake – Bacalar, also known as the “Lagoon of Seven Colors,” is a picturesque town located about 90 kilometers north of Costa Maya. The best things to do in Bacalar are take a boat tour of the lake and visit the underwater cenotes.
Closest Major Airport: Belize City Municipal (TZA)

9. Cruise Line Private Destinations
Above, I talked about cruise line private islands in the Western Caribbean. A few cruise lines also have private destinations that are a portion of a larger island.
For example, Royal Caribbean’s Labadee is a part of Haiti, exclusive to cruise passengers.
Although not as special as a complete private island, these private destinations are still a great place to visit on a Western Caribbean itinerary.
Royal Caribbean – Labadee
Located on the northern coast of Haiti, Labadee is an action-packed destination. It boasts the world’s longest over-water zip line, an alpine coaster, and several beaches offering a range of experiences from lively to tranquil.
Princess – Princess Cays
This island on the southern tip of Eleuthera in the Bahamas offers a quieter beach experience. With water sports, a coral reef for snorkeling, and less crowded beaches, it’s ideal for those seeking a more relaxed day.

Sample Western Caribbean Cruise Itineraries

If you’re planning a Western Caribbean cruise, I recommend first selecting a cruise line, then browsing itineraries . They will vary greatly by date and duration.
To give you an idea of some itinerary options, here are three that I would personally choose from Royal Caribbean:
5 Nights | Liberty of the Seas | From Ft Lauderdale
Ft Lauderdale > Cruising > Cozumel > Costa Maya > Cruising > Ft Lauderdale
6 Nights | Symphony of the Seas | From Ft Lauderdale
Ft Lauderdale > Cruising > Falmouth > Labadee > Cruising > Nassau > Ft Lauderdale
7 Nights | Icon of the Seas | From Miami
Miami > Cruising (2) > Costa Maya > Cozumel > Cruising > Cococay > Miami

On Carnival Breeze, fun-fan faves like SportSquare ™ , and mouth-watering dining spots like Cucina del Capitano ® , are just the beginning of how this ship keeps the fun blazing. Speaking of blazing, enjoy the island atmosphere of the very cool RedFrog Rum Bar ® , or south-of-the-border taco goodness at BlueIguana Cantina ™ . There are many fish in the sea… and somewhere among the expertly-pruned bonsai trees, Bonsai Sushi ™ proves it. But don’t forget the ambiance of Guy's Burger Joint ™ — roadside-burger-shack style — featuring hot-off-the-grill burgers designed by celebrity chef Guy Fieri! Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse prides itself on premium cuts, cooked exactly the way you like 'em... plus gourmet appetizers and wine pairings. And to go just a little less refined, stop by Pizza Pirate for a hot slice, the Carnival Deli for a true classic, or Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse ™ to get a little messy with some signature — you guessed it — Guy Fieri BBQ. On this ship, you just can't get enough Guy! Carnival Breeze has the whole family covered — with water, that is — with a 320-foot-long Twister Waterslide ™ at Carnival WaterWorks ™ . Norwegian Getaway Review: Our 7 Day Western Caribbean cruise

Looking for a Norwegian Getaway review? You have come to the right place!
We took a Western Caribbean Cruise on the Norwegian Getaway to Roatan Bay, Honduras, Belize City, Belize, Costa Maya, Mexico & Cozumel, Mexico. The itinerary of the Norwegian Getaway constantly changes which we really love about this cruise line so it is likely you will not be going to the exact same destinations as us.
Built in 2013 at a cost of $840m, the Norwegian Cruise Line Getaway is one of the largest in the NCL fleet weighing 145,655 Tons and has capacity for 3,963 passengers. There are only a few ships in the NCL fleet which are bigger than this one like the Epic and the Encore.
The ship is adorned with artwork by popular local artist David Le Batard ‘Lebo’ in a Miami theme. From the hull to dining rooms you’ll see the Miami native’s impressive and distinctive artwork.
Read on for more about what we loved and loathed in our Norwegian Getaway Review.
In a nutshell : We loved the food in the complimentary restaurants. There was plenty of variety and the quality was good – especially the New York strip steak. Our room was small, which we expected. When cruising NCL we prefer to take advantage of the activities on board, of which there are plenty on the Getaway. Ropes course, extreme slides and hot tubs – we did them all and loved it. We would recommend a Western Caribbean cruise on Norwegian Getaway to couples but there’s really something for everyone from families, to singles, to retirees.
Norwegian Getaway Rooms (Inside Stateroom)
We chose the inside guarantee stateroom. The inside rooms were a little smaller than those on other Norwegian ships (For instance, the Norwegian Pearl has larger inside staterooms).
We also felt the Norwegian Star had bigger staterooms too. The Getaway is newer than both those ships and has newer, updated staterooms (which is great) but it seems they have made them a bit smaller – maybe to squeeze more rooms onto the ship?
The rooms didn’t have any drawers for your belongings (other Norwegian ships like the Star do) so you only had the choice of placing your suitcase under the bed or hanging your ironed items in the cupboard. In saying this, it wasn’t that much of a problem for us. We aren’t people who really mind living out of our suitcase on vacation but if that is a problem for you, I would suggest booking a bigger room, like a balcony stateroom.
There are 14 decks on the Getaway. People generally prefer to be higher up but we’ve never had a problem with any cabin aboard the Norwegian Getaway cruise ship. We should note that if you are susceptible to seasickness you want to be midship as the cruise will rock way less if your cabin is located in midship. Norwegian charges a premium if you want to guarantee a midship room due to their popularity.
We also paid $15USD per person per night (excluding taxes, $60 including taxes) so we weren’t picky – we got an insanely cheap deal. You can check out the best rates on Norwegian getaway here .
If you are willing to wait and book your cruise closer to the time, you tend to get a better deal. The only issue with this strategy is that cruises can and do sell out. We have missed out on cruises we have wanted to take playing this game so be careful trying to “bottom the cruise market” as you might miss out on your vacation!
Getaway Dining
The food on the ship is fantastic. There are six restaurants on board the Norwegian Getaway in the complimentary dining category: The Tropicana room, Savor, Taste, the Garden Buffet, O’Sheehan’s Pub & Shanghai’s Chinese restaurant.
One thing that Norwegian cruise line consistently does well we have found is onboard dining. What we love about NCL is that they offer “Freestyle Dining” which means you don’t have to book a time at the free restaurants onboard, you can just show up whenever you feel like it. Personally, I love not having to plan when I am going to eat.
The only downside to this is that if the ship is busy, they give you a buzzer and you have to wait to be buzzed to get your table.
Note: Freestyle dining isn’t the same for the paid speciality restaurants onboard, where you do need to book a time due to their popularity.
Tropicana, Savor & Taste
Like other Norwegian ships, the same menu is served in the Tropicana room, Savor & Taste (‘the Main Dining halls’).
The Main Dining halls offered a varying menu each night with some old faithfuls appearing on the menu every night including the New York strip steak & the chocolate lava cake.
Cons: One thing I will mention is that service is pretty poor in all the Getaway’s complimentary dining restaurants – you will wait a long time to be served dinner. I have written an article – Are Norwegian cruise line good ? – and although (spoiler alert) I conclude that they are good, the service overall across their fleet is a negative for Norwegian.
However, in the Tropicana room this wasn’t too much of a problem if you were seated near the entertainment.
The Tropicana room offered nightly entertainment while you dine including dance performances & live music which provided great value for money as it would be very expensive to replicate a similar experience outside the cruise.
This level of entertainment at a free restaurant is not the same across all Norwegian ships (for example, the Norwegian Star did not have entertainment in any restaurants – free, speciality or otherwise) so it is a big plus for traveling on the Getaway.
Shanghai Chinese restaurant
The Shanghai Chinese restaurant was also a particularly popular choice for dinner due to their mouth watering dumplings. The fried ‘pot stickers’ as the dumplings are called are by far the best item on the menu in my opinion. They are something you can order on pretty much all Norwegian ships at the Chinese restaurant and something we really look forward to eating while on Norwegian.
Food is made fresh and made to order. Just mark your selection on the order form and your order will be whipped on by the chefs.
Norwegian Getaway Tip #1 : be warned there are limited seats at this restaurant. The venue opens at 5.30pm but people are lining up to be seated there at 5.00pm sharp.
O’Sheehan’s pub: 24/7
For anytime dining the cruise also has O’Sheehan’s pub which serves pub style food and fantastic chicken fajitas.
Norwegian Getaway Buffet
In terms of the buffet, there was a large range of food available and it was of a pretty good standard for a cruise buffet.
This included a salad bar, ice cream bar, meats, pasta, pizza and much more.
Norwegian Getaway Tip #2 : The highlight of the Norwegian Getaway buffet was most definitely the crepe bar. I would highly recommend the Nutella & banana crepes made to order on the Norwegian Getaway!
Dining Package
A lot of people indicated that Norwegian’s paid dining options were fantastic but we were quite content dining at the complimentary ventures & felt like we had enough variety without spending extra money.
However, I will say, the decor of the specialty dining restaurants looked fantastic!
Sometimes Norwegian offers a free upgraded dining package so look out for that package if you are a foodie!
Bars & Lounges
On the Getaway you’ll find 20 unique bars, lounges and areas to buy a drink. If you are considering whether you should purchase a NCL Beverage package to enjoy your favorite alcoholic treat at one of these bars, we wrote a guide comparing all NCL’s beverage packages on offer that you might like to check out.
On days at sea the most popular by far are the pool-side bars on board.
Norwegian Getaway Shows
The entertainment on the Norwegian Getaway was top notch. From their fantastic Broadway shows to their hilarious comedy shows to the outrageously entertaining signature Norwegian competitions, the entertainment on the Norwegian Getaway really could not be faulted.
The broadway production on the Norwegian Getaway, Million Dollar Quartet, a musical which is inspired by the recording session that brought together Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins was of a very high quality and were very impressed!
If alternatively, you are more of a fan of dance, the Getaway also has this dance performance called Burn the Floor.
While we didn’t go to a performance of Burn the Floor we did watch them perform a mini show while we ate dinner one night at The Tropicana Room and that was very good.
I’m not a huge fan of dance performances usually but I was a little disappointed we didn’t take the time to see them perform after watching the mini-show at dinner.
The Norwegian Getaway cruise ship also offered some paid shows including Wine Lovers the musical & the Illusionarium Magic Show.
We didn’t elect to go to either of these shows but if you are interested they cost around $30 a ticket.
Getaway Ship Show Tip #3 : Most of the shows on the Getaway need to be booked in advance. Tickets were limited to around 300 tickets (out of a ship holding 4000 passengers) so book in early on one of the big touch screens around the ship or on your Stateroom tv to avoid missing out!
We also particularly enjoyed the signature Norwegian competitions on the Getaway including the ‘Mr Sexy Legs’ competition where guys compete to be awarded with the sexiest legs on the ship.
We also loved the Celebrity dance off where passengers signed up with a team member of the Getaway to see who has the worst/funniest dance moves on the ship.
This is a great cruise for young adults so if you are in your 20s/30s and thinking to book this cruise we would say, go for it!
What’s On the Norwegian Getaway
Aside from the restaurants, shows and casinos, there’s tonnes more activities on the ship to keep everyone from families to couples entertained. Here’s the run down.
Norwegian Getaway Tip #4 : If you want to avoid the queues for all the activities, wait until dinner time. The most popular time for the water slides, pools and ropes course is just as the ship is leaving port for the day.
Pools & Slides
The Norwegian Getaway has an an aqua park featuring five multi-story water slides, two swimming pools (one for adults only), and four hot tubs.
Our favourites were the two high adrenaline theme park style free fall slides.
We found the cruise decks and the recreational areas to be of an extremely high standard on the Norwegian Getaway.
Ropes Course
The Norwegian Getaway ropes course is made all the more exciting by the fact you’re traversing the course 16 stories above sea level.
Even if you aren’t put off by heights, the course was sufficiently entertaining for these 2 sober 20somethings.
The ropes course – the largest currently at sea – was clearly a winner for families, kids and teens too.
More Activities
There’s plenty to do on board including a rock climbing wall, mini golf and basketball.
All the recreational areas on the cruise were complimentary including the large fitness centre.
Western Caribbean Itinerary
We though the itinerary on the Norwegian Getaway was pretty good. We actually really enjoy the days at sea because it’s an opportunity to enjoy all the activities on board.
This was our Western Caribbean itinerary and what we did at each port:
- Miami, FL – hit the buffet, eat way too much, and book shows for the week
- At Sea – time to explore this behemoth. Restaurant hop, check out the Mr Sexy Legs competition and take on the slides
- Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras – Visit the incredible West Bay Beach. Forget paying over $100 to get there on a tour. We’re doing this DIY on local transport to get a better feel of island life (at a fraction of the price).
- Belize City, Belize – A tubing tour is the way to go here. Otherwise, you can do your own walking tour of the city and take in all the best sights
- Costa Maya, Mexico – Nothing to do here but enjoy the beautiful Mahahual Beach and drink cheap Coronas all day. Nothing wrong with that!
- Cozumel, Mexico – We’ve stayed on Cozumel before so we knew what we wanted to do there. Snorkel and drink a tower of cheap ice cold beer!
- At Sea – Time to tick off any restaurants we haven’t eaten at yet, watch some shows and relax
- Miami, FL – Home! We loved it so much we booked an Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Norwegian Escape departing the next week!
Norwegian Getaway Tip #5 : Save hundreds (and getting a better feeling for local life) by doing a DIY shore excursion. We show you exactly how, step by step in photos, in our NCL Getaway Western Caribbean DIY shore excursions guide .
More Norwegian Getaway Pictures
Book the Norwegian Getaway from as little as $15 per night
If you are flexible with dates, you can search Cruisedirect by month for all sailings. Here is a direct link to the Norwegian Getaway on cruisedirect.
Norwegian Getaway Tip #6 : As we booked in September / October – just after school holidays finished – we got an awesome rate of $15 per person per night excluding tax.
Even with tax, our total of $60 per night is incredible value.
We booked our cruise through Cruisedirect and we recommend you do the same because they consistently have the best deals.
Another good option to check out for great cruise deals is expedia which we find offers from great prices. Click here for the Norwegian getaway on expedia .
What we like is that the site is quite user friendly and you can search cruises by price.

World's Largest Cruise Ship Sets Sail for the First Time in Initial Sea Trial — See Photos!
Royal Caribbean's "Icon of the Seas" is slated to embark on its maiden voyage out of South Florida in January 2024
Royal Caribbean's record-breaking Icon of the Seas is drawing closer to its debut in January 2024 after completing its first phase of sea trials in Europe.
Set to be the world’s largest cruise ship and the company's first Icon-class ship, the vessel has been under construction at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, according to an official release .
The cruise will offer vacationers the world’s largest waterpark at sea, dubbed Category 6 and featuring six water slides. Icon of the Seas also offers a "resort getaway," a "beach escape," a theme park and over "40 ways to dine, drink and be entertained," according to the company.
Royal Caribbean
Inside, it will feature a one-of-a-kind accommodation: the "Ultimate Family Townhouse," which Royal Caribbean describes as a three-story "sprawling adventure-filled pad" with an in-suite slide, a karaoke station, and hidden areas to discover.
The ship's 20 decks will include Royal Caribbean's first-ever dueling piano bar, eight "neighborhoods," the largest pool at sea and experiences for thrill-seekers like Crown's Edge, described as "a fear-inducing challenge that’s part skywalk, part ropes course, part thrill ride and an all-out test of your courage."

The ship weighs in at an estimated 250,800 tons and measures close to 1,200 feet long. It also holds about 5,610 passengers and 2,350 crew members, according to CNN .
Over 450 specialists have run four days of preliminary tests on the ship’s main engines, bow and propellers, as well as checking noise and vibration levels, a release shared.
"Between preparations and the trials, the important step in the journey to bring Icon to life involved more than 2,000 specialists, hundreds of miles traveled, four 37- to 67-ton tugboats and more than 350 hours of work," according to the release.
All of that will prepare the cruise for its second round of sea trials later this year, ahead of its debut out of South Florida in January 2024.
The Icon of the Seas will set sail from Miami on 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean vacations all year round, where passengers can visit popular tropical destinations like the Bahamas, Mexico, St. Maarten and Honduras, as well as Royal Caribbean's private island, CocoCay.
At a press panel earlier this year, Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley described the ship as “literally the best-performing new product launch we’ve ever had," according to CNN.
Royal Caribbean will be ousting themselves from the top spot. It's Wonder of the Seas is currently the world’s largest cruise ship.
