We visited North East, mainly Kaziranga and Shillong, Cherapunji with NatureWings in last December with my family and friends. We were looking for the North East Package Tour in internet and got the NatureWings name along with few others. Our tour started from Guwahati and first we visited Kaziranga National Park. In Kaziranga Western Range, we took the early morning Kaziranga Elephant Safari . It was an amazing experience as through elephant safari in Kaziranga Western range, we went to very close to the One-horn Rhino teams. In the afternoon we went to Kaziranga Central Range for the Kaziranga Jeep Safari . In the open hood Jeep, we entered into the central range, which is consists of mainly tall grass and we could locate Rhinos from little bit distance. Our Kids were extremely happy to enjoy the both Kajiranga Jungle Safari. From Kaziranga we went to shilong and Cherapunji, where we have enjoyed all the sightseeing including Dawki River and Seven Sister Falls. Our Special thanks to Mr. Sandip Raha, Director NatureWings and his entire North East Team who made our trip perfectly flawless and memorable. We will certainly take their help in future travel and recommend to others too.

We have taken Kaziranga and Arunachal Trip through NatureWings in this year January month. It was Nine Nights trip with my three friends and their families. Our trip includes Kaziranga, Tawang, Dirang, Bomdila and Bhalukpong. We are from Mumbai and we got the reference of NatureWings from one of my close friend, who took the North East Package from NatureWings last year and suggested me to take the Kaziranga Package Tour along with Arunachal with NatureWings only as they were extremely happy with NatureWings Service. So after a discussion, we did lots of customization as our choice and they revised the itinerary happily so many times. We have planned for Kaziranga Jungle Safari for long and our first day was in Kaziranga Jungle and on the next day early morning we took the famous Kaziranga Elephant Safari . It was only once in a life time experience as we could see the One Horn Rhinos just from few metre distance. In the afternoon, we took the Kaziranga Jeep Safari in the central range and that too was great experience. We stayed in a nice resort close to Kaziranga Western Range and resort was very beautiful with nice ambience, food and service were extremely good. Next day, we started for Western Aurnachal and we visited Bomdila, Tawang, Diranga and Bhalukpong and overall Arunachal experience was also very good. Thank you NatureWings for providing best experience in our North East Package.

We had visit the Kaziranga forest with Naturewings this January and it was an awesome experience. Kaziranga Sanctuary has a variety of flora and fauna, the one horn rhino, tiger and elephants could be seen from here, with a variety of birds. We woke up early in the morning that day for the Kaziranga elephant safari, it was about an hour we had the trip. We had the luck to see the Rhinos just at a few meters of distance from us. After finishing the safari we had a great breakfast at our hotel (which was booked by Naturewings team) and went for a drive to the part of the Kaziranga, Kaziranga Central range to enjoy the Jeep Safari in Kaziranga through the dense forest. NatureWings has arranged everything perfectly for Kaziranga Jungle Safari and we had a really good time there and highly satisfied with service of NatureWings. Will recommend all of my friends or family to go with them only.

Kaziranga is the best place to spot endangered One Horned Rhino. This sanctuary is divided in 4 ranges and the western and central ranges are the best to spot the Rhinos. It has to be done through the Kaziranga Jeep Safari in central range or the Kaziranga Elephant Safari in western range which anyone will love to go for. The elephant safari gets start by 5.30 in the morning and tickets were arranged by Naturewings team. We had a zeep safari so got a chance to see the lush greenery of the dense forest from the close. We spotted the tiger from a long distance luckily and got the glimpse of the famous one horn rhino. The best part of the trip is we avail the full service of Naturewings which was extremely satisfactory and hassle free. We thank Mr. Raha and his team for all their help and making our trip memorable.

Remarkable Experience, It was my first visit with NatureWings to Shillong, Cherapunji & most importantly Kaziranga National Park in the mid Feb. The best part to highlight is about Kaziranga Elephant Safari in Bagori Range though we have experience both Kaziranga Jeep Safari & Elephant Safari . But Elephant Safari was really unforgettable; It gives us better view of One-horned Rhino, dense forest & other wildlife. We must suggest all to visit Kaziranga National park and experience Kaziranga Jungle Safari and get the experience of staying at the forest. Last but not the least, I would like to give special thanks to NatureWings team who just haven't book the perfect hotels and all other arrangements, they have taken care of every small points and organised perfectly which made our trip a remarkable one.

Day 2 : SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE (56Kms) Day trip to Cherrapunjee enroute visit Shillong Peak nd then proceed to Elephant Falls before finally leaving for Cherrapunjee-the wettest place on earth where we will be exploring the Mausmai Caves, the Naukalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Ram Krishna Mission. Return to Shillong and overnight. Day 3 :SHILLONG-KAZIRANGA (320KMS/7 Hrs) Drive to Kaziranga  National Park, the abode of one horned rhinoceros enroute visit Don Bosco Museum which is one of the most Hitech museums in India. Reaching there we check in hotel. Overnight in Kaziranga. Day 4: KAZIRANGA We shall start early in the morning for an elephant safari for 01 hour inside the park which is a world heritage site. After elephant safari, breakfast at lodge. Then we go for a jeep safari in the western range of the park. Overnight in Kaziranga. Day 5:KAZIRANGA-BOMDILA (240 Kms/6-7 Hrs) Morning drive to Bomdila. Enroute visit Tipi Orchidarium, a glass house with over 1000 Orchids. Overnight in Bomdila.  Day 6: BOMDILA-TAWANG ( 180 Kms/7-8 Hrs) Drive passing through typical Monpa village at Dirang. After viewing the beautiful valley of Dirang overlooking the river and inhabited by colourful tribals, proceed towards the Sela Pass (13703 ft) spend some lovely times by the paradise lake Overnight in Tawang. Day 7: TAWANG Full day explore Tawang Monastery, founded by Mera Lama Lodre Gyaltso during 17th century A.D. a contemporary of the fifth Dalai Lama .Drive upto PT Shu Lake  then return to visit Tawang War Memorial  .Overnight at Tawang. Day 8:TAWANG-BOMDILA (180 Kms/7-8 Hrs) Early morning, drive to Jang to get a breath taking view of waterfalls. Pay homage at the Jashwant Garh Indo Chinese War Memorial and down hill drive to Bomdila. Overnight in Bomdila . Day 9 : BOMDILA-TEZPUR (170 Kms/7-8 Hrs) Drive back to Tezpur  enroute visiting Nag Mandir . Overnight in Tezpurl. Day10 : TEZPUR-GUWAHATI (170 Kms/3 Hrs) Leave for Guwahati after breakfast. Afternoon we will make a visit to the famed Kamakhya Temple and enjoy the boat ride in Brahmaputra River for visiting Umananda Temple situated in a small river island in Brahmaputra. Booking was easy. Food was good. Enjoyed local food. Hotels were good. Taxi drivers were also very polite and cooperative. Tour managers Jitendra & Nimikesh were very caring, courteous and helpful. We loved the fact that it was very well organized and structured. We were informed a day prior about the next day's itinerary. My son, aged 13 years, had a great time with him and he was the one who actually felt very bad during the last day of the trip as it got ended. Itinerary (Day Wise)

Guwahati – kaziranga (2 nights).

Tour Guests will arrive at Guwahati Airport as per their Scheduled flight. Upon arrival they will meet Veena World tour manager at the airport and proceed to Kaziranga – where wildlife roams fearlessly and enjoy a beautiful rendezvous with nature. En route we visit Maha Mrityunjai Temple – renowned as the World's Tallest Shivling at about 126 feet high. Upon arrival, we have free time for relaxing.

Today we experience a thrilling jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park for wildlife viewing. We will come face to face with one horned rhino’s, elephants, deer’s and rare migratory birds. Later we visit Orchid Park – an orchid house with over 600 species from Northeast India, bamboo and medicinal herb gardens, a cactus house and a handicrafts museum. In the evening we enjoy the spectacular Bihu dance – an indigenous folk dance of Assam.

Kaziranga – Shillong (3 Nights)

Today we proceed to Shillong – The capital of Meghalaya. En route we enjoy the view of beautiful Umiam Lake.

Shillong – Mawlynnong – Shillong

Today we explore Mawlynnong village which has been awarded as the ‘Cleanest Village in Asia’. We visit the Balancing Rock and the Living Root Bridge – Centuries old bridges grown from tangled roots. Later we proceed to see the crystal clear waters of Dawki river and enjoy boating on the river. Dawki lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is famous for a suspension bridge over Umngot River (commonly known as Dawki bridge) constructed by British in 1932. We also visit India - Bangladesh border at Tamabil. In the evening, we have free time for relaxing and exploring the surroundings.

• Tea/Coffee en route Mawlynnong & Local fruit at Living Root Bridge, Tea/Coffee at Shillong in the evening

Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong

Today we visit Cathedral of Mary, Elephant Falls and Ram Krishna Mission. Later we proceed to Cherrapunjee – officially known as Sohra. It is the wettest place on earth. We also visit Mawsmai Caves, Seven Sisters Falls, and Nohkalikai Fall – the tallest plunge waterfall in India. In the evening, we have free time to enjoy shopping in local market.

Shillong – Guwahati (2 Nights)

Today we proceed to Guwahati. Upon arrival, we have free time to relax and explore the surroundings.

Today we visit the Kamakhya Temple – one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in the country and enjoy a ride in the longest river ropeway over the Brahmaputra. Get a panoramic view of Umananda Temple, Peacock Island, the Brahmaputra River and the surrounding hills. Later we sail over the River Cruise in Brahmaputra.

Guwahati – Departure

• From the airport, our representative will take you to a pre-booked hotel in Assam to recover from jet lag.

• Followed by this, check-out of the hotel and be ready to commence a 99 km drive to the beautiful hill station of Shillong in Meghalaya. The entire drive would take around 3-4 hours to complete.
• En route, the gorgeous lake of Umiam, also known as Barapani. Barapani is the largest artificial lake in Meghalaya. Whereas, Umiam is known for its picturesque surrounding which includes Sylvan Hills.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrive Kolkatta

Today we arrive by international flight to Kolkatta.

Overnight hotel – Kolkatta

Day 02 : Kolkatta -  Guwahati

Meeting upon arrival and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Shankardev Kalakshetra, a place where Assamese history and culture is depicted in a sprawling open enclosure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 03 : Guwahati / Tezpur / Nameri

Morning after an early breakfast depart by car to Tezpur. Arrive Tezpur and check in at eco camp in Nameri. Late afternoon go for bird watching at Nameri and looking for the hornbills and other species. Dinner and overnight at Eco-Camp.

Day 04 : Tezpur / Dirang (206 kms)

Morning after an early breakfast depart for Dirang. En route visit the famous orchid garden in Tipi near Bhalokpong. Arrive4 Dirang and check in at hotel.

Dirang: Dirang is an ideal getaway in West Kameng district with beautiful apple orchards and sheep breeding farms. Also nearby are hot-springs, where people go for holy dips, and Kalachakra-Gompa. Afternoon visit a local monpa village to witness their culture and tradition.

Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 05 : Dirang / Tawang

After breakfast drive to Tawang by the same vehicle. En route visit Sela Pass, the second highest motor able road in the world  and Jashwant Garh, the war memorial.

Tawang: Nested in the lap of Himalayas at 3500 meters above sea level lies Tawang , the land of Monpas. The local people believe that Merak Lama gave the name Tawang to this hill resort in the 17 th century. Arrive Tawang and check in at hotel.

Day 06 : Tawang

Morning after breakfast full day sightseeing of Tawang visiting Tawang Monastery and Urqelling Monastery. Evening free at leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 07 : Tawang / Bomdila (185 kms)

After breakfast depart for Bomdila. En route the famous paradise lake. Arrive and check in at hotel. Afternoon visit craft center, Enthnographic museum and shopping center. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 08 : Bomdila / Itanagar (350 kms)

Morning after an early breakfast depart for Bomdila by the same vehicle. En route visit local tribal villages. Arrive Itanagar and check in at hotel. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 09 : Itanagar

Morning after breakfast sightseeing of Itanagar visiting Ita Fort, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Museum, Ganaga Lake, The Itanagar Sanctuary and the Polo Park. Evening nfree at leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 10 : Itanagar / Ziro (167 kms)

Morning after breakfast drive to Ziro. En route visit local Nyshi village in Sagalee. Arrive Ziro and check in at hotel. Afternoon free at leisure. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Ziro

Morning after breakfast visit Tarin, the hight altitude fish farm, a famous whispering pine grove and the craft center. From a hilltop, catch the first rays down lighting up the stunning emerald patchwork quilt of nature. Later visit Talley valley. Talley in Apatani dialect is the name of a plant and to many other the word means paradise. Talley valley is 30 kms from Ziro. It is a picturesque little township with the local population growing paddy in tarraced fields.

Also visit other places of tourist interests including recently discovered longest shiva ling. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 12 : Ziro / Daporijo (160 kms)

Morning after breakfast drive to Daporijo. En route visit Tagin tribal villages to get an insight into the unique day to day life of the tribes.

Arrive Daporijo and check in at hotel.

Day 13 : Daporizo / Along (178 kms)

Morning after an early breakfast drive to Along. Arrive and check in at hotel. Afternoon visit Ramakrishna Ashram and the Hanging Bridge in the Siang river.

Day 14 : Along / Pasighat (106 kms)

After breakfast drive to Pasighat. En route visit Adi (Minyong) Tribal Villages. Arrive and check in at hotel. Afternoon sightseeing of Pasighat visiting Kekar Monying (Black Rock) and Komsing, the memorial stone of Sir Neol Williamson killed by Narmi Manmur Jamoh. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 15 : Pasighat / Dibrugarh

Morning after an early breakfast, proceed on a long drive, crossing river Brahmaputra through country made ferry, which takes about 6 hrs to reach at Dibrugarh. Arrive Dibrugarh and drive to Mancotta tea estate. Arrive and check in at the Chang Bunglow. This 157 year old bunglow was built by British tea planters is located in the middle of Mancotta tea estate, just outside Dibrugarh. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 16 : Dibrugarh – Kolkatta

Morning after breakfast in time transfer to airport for the onward destination.

Day 04: SHILLONG – KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK   (365 Kms – 7 Hrs Drive)

After morning breakfast, transfer to Kaziranga National Park, the home of the “One Horned Rhinoceros”, Check in at your hotel/Lodge/resort, Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Kaziranga.

Day 05: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK – DIRANG (250 Kms / 7 Hrs) Early morning explore Western Zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of elephant. Apart from world’s endangered One-horned Rhinoceros, the Park sustains half the world’s population of genetically pure Wild Water Buffaloes, over 1000 Wild elephants and perhaps the densest population of Royal Bengal Tigers anywhere. Kaziranga is also a bird watcher’s paradise and home to some 500 species of birds. The Crested Serpent Eagle, Palla’s Fishing Eagle, Greyheaded Fishing Eagle, Swamp Partridge, Bar-headed goose, whistling Teal, Bengal Florican, Storks, Herons and Pelicans are some of the species found here. We will return to the resort for breakfast & then we will experience a jeep safari through the Central Zone of the National Park. After then leave Kaziranga for Dirang.

Dirang is famous for its apples. It has also started Kiwi cultivation in the winter. En-route visit Nag Temple and Asia’s third largest Orchidarium at Tipi where you can see over 7500 orchids from a collection of about 300 species, some of them are very rare. On arrival Dirang, check in at hotel. Evening free for leisure.Overnight stay at hotel in Dirang.

Day 06: DIRANG – TAWANG   (146kms. / 5hrs Drive)

Early in the morning, leave for Tawang. On the way to Tawang lies the world’s second highest pass – the Sela Pass which runs through a small ridge and along a placid Lake called the Paradise Lake. On the way cross the National Yak Research and Breeding Centre, Natural Hot Water Spring and Jaswantgarh.Jaswantgarh is a memorial to the brave soldier who single handedly tried to hold of the approaching Chines from the pass during the 1962 Indo – Chinese war. The stupa like Tawang war Memorial also salutes the heroes of the war. On arrival at Tawang, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Tawang.

Day 07: TAWANG In the morning go for sightseeing in and around Tawang. Visit the War Memorial, the Handicrafts Centre, 6th Dalai Lama’s Birth Place  and finally the three hundred year old Tawang Monastery, the second largest Buddhist Monastery after Lhasa’s Potala. Overnight stay at hotel in Tawang.

Day 08:  TAWANG  – BHALUKPONG    (285 KM. / 07 hrs approx) After morning breakfast, we will depart for Bhalukpong.

Bhalukpong  is on the border of the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh  is a place of enthralling scenic beauty. The sparking river Jia Bhorole which passes through Bhalukpong is an adventure lover’s paradise. By the side of the river is the Nameri National Park which falls under Project Tiger. On arrival at Bhalukpong, check in at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Bhalukpong.

Day 09: BHALUKPONG – GUWAHATI  (240kms. / 6hrs.) In the morning explore Nameri National Park, the home of the near extinct White Winged Wood duck. Besides, the parkabounds in elephants, Leopards, Sāmbhar, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Gaur, and a variety of birds including four species of Hornbill. In the afternoon proceed to Guwahati the Capital of Assam and with everlasting memories transfer to Guwahati airport/railway station for onward journey.
