In the midst of BTS ‘ hiatus, Suga has become the first BTS member to embark on a solo tour , with a slate of dates scheduled around the world this spring, including a U.S. run. Announced in February 2023, Min Yoon-gi titled his tour under his BTS stage name “ Suga “, as well as his other stage moniker, Agust D.

Even though all seven members of BTS are exploring solo projects right now (and completing their mandatory military service ), Suga has been releasing his own self-produced music for a few years now. Back in 2016, he dropped a debut self-titled mixtape as Agust D, then followed that project up in 2020 with another mixtape, D-2 . Suga has also done a bunch of production work for other artists recently, including Psy , the Japanese singer Ømi, and his BTS bandmate Jung Kook.

Suga’s Agust D tour will kick off April 26 in New York and will span the U.S. before making its way to Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and soon-to-be announced Japan dates. But just like any previous BTS tour, tickets are selling out faster than you can add to cart — but don’t stress. Suga will then play one show in Newark, New Jersey, three in Rosemont, Illinois (just outside of Chicago), and three in Los Angeles. The U.S. leg wraps with two gigs in Oakland on May 16 and 17. After touring the U.S., Suga will head to Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore, before returning to Seoul, South Korea, for two shows on June 24 and 25. BTS’ Suga announces 2023 solo tour: Dates, schedules, where to buy tickets

BTS’ Suga has announced his first solo international tour.

The tour will kick off in the United States for two nights in Belmont Park, New York on April 26 and 27 . Suga’s stint in the U.S. will conclude on May 17 in Oakland, California before heading to Asia.

While in the U.S., Suga will performing at Prudential Center on April 29 .

Suga will be the first BTS member to head out on a solo tour, which is under his stage name Agust D.

Tickets to see Suga go on sale to the public on March 3 at 3 p.m. through Ticketmaster .

Suga, whose real name is Min Yoon-gi, is a music producer, rapper and one of seven members of the K-pop boy group, BTS. (The other members include RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook.) BTS debuted in 2013 with their first single, “No More Dream,” from their debut mini album 2 Cool 4 Skool. Since then, the group has released nine studio albums—2014’s Dark & Wild and Wake Up ; 2016’s Youth and Wings ; 2018’s Face Yourself and Love Yourself: Tear ; 2020’s Map of the Soul: 7 and Map of the Soul: 7 – The Journey ; and 2020’s Be . They’ve also been nominated for three Grammy Awards and collaborated with artists like Halsey, Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion and Steve Aoki.

Suga, for his part, released his first solo mixtape, Agust D , in 2016. He released his second solo mixtape, D-2 , in 2020. In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2021, Suga opened up about what inspires his lyrics. “I’m comfortable now and feeling good, but those sorts of negative emotions come and go. So it’s almost like cold weather. It may come back in a cycle over a year, year and a half,” he said. “But when I hear people say that when they listen to my music, and feel comfort and are consoled by those lyrics that express these emotions, that makes me feel very good. It’s very encouraging. I think, for anybody, these emotions are not something that need to be hidden. They need to be discussed and expressed. Whatever emotions that I may be feeling, I’m always ready to express them now, as I was before.

He also told Rolling Stone about how his songwriting process is different when he writes for himself and BTS versus other artists. “The process is really different for every song. Sometimes it may be a word that pops up and I build on that word, or someone could make a request for a certain way they would like a song to be developed,” he said. “Oftentimes, we decide on a theme and then we sort of freely work from the larger overarching theme that we may have. But generally, when I work on a song, I create the beat first and then the melody and the rap and then finally the lyrics. That’s generally how I build them.”

In an interview with Weverse magazine in 2022, Suga opened up about how being a producer for both his own music and BTS’ inspired him as a solo artist. “I think that, when I release an album as Agust D , that’s a solo work with solo promotions, and I feel like I should use the same system that regular groups do when they’re promoting and have a lead single and a B-side. I was thinking a lot recently that maybe I should shoot two music videos: one just there for the visuals, while the other is more focused on the listening experience. Ah, what should I do? I’m working hard on a follow-up to D-2 ,” he said.

He also told the magazine about how he’s grown as both a producer and rapper for BTS since the K-pop group’s debut in 2013. “Fortunately. Lately I’ve been thinking about how I don’t know what kind of music I should do when I get older, and that maybe I should try a few different styles now,” he said. “I think this is both a blessing and a curse, but I think that, while I’m able to work in various genres, I’m not sure any of them are that deep. That’s why I try to use many different styles and when I’m promoting my own material, I put in a lot of things I like, like surprises and twists. These days I started to want to do things again, too. And that brings me both worry and excitement.”

When asked what he wants ARMYs to feel when listening to his music, Suga told Weverse Magazine, “I used to place a lot of importance on music—especially when I was young—but now I’m trying hard not to place too much meaning on it. It’s just the times we live in, for one thing, because at some point we became a generation for whom music is simply background music.”

He continued, “I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. It’s a natural progression, and anyway, I thought there’s a difference between when a musician knows why they’re doing music or not. Here’s what I think: People who listen to my music—I mean, to a certain extent, I think being a fan of something is a must in life. You could be a fan of a person or a sport—whatever it’s about, I think being a fan is important because it makes life fun. Like feeling excited for the NBA playoffs as soon as you open your eyes in the morning. Some people are going to be excited for the day my music comes out and for me to perform. There aren’t a lot of things to be excited for in life. But for anyone who likes my music, I hope they’re excited for it—excited for when it comes out, excited for when I promote and excited for when I go on tour. I hope they’re excited for everything so I can give their life meaning each and every day.”

Guests with general admission tickets may begin lineup at 8:00AM on the show day. The general admission line will being at the Citizens Tower on the corner of Mulberry St. and Edison Place.

Bags up to 12"x14" are permitted inside Prudential Center. Anything larger, including backpacks, are not permitted, with the exception of childcare or medical bags. Permissible larger bags will be X-rayed. All bags are subject to search by Prudential Center security team members at each point of entry. Bags that do not meet these expectations must be returned to the guest’s vehicle or stored in a Prudential Center supplied locker at the guest’s expense. Lockers are located outside the Ford Tower and Lafayette Street entrances.

Suga , whose real name is Min Yoon-gi, is a music producer, rapper and one of seven members of the K-pop boy group, BTS . (The other members include RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook.) Suga, for his part, released his first solo mixtape, Agust D , in 2016. He released his second solo mixtape, D-2 , in 2020. In an interview with Rolling Stone in 2021, Suga opened up about what inspires his lyrics. “I’m comfortable now and feeling good, but those sorts of negative emotions come and go. So it’s almost like cold weather. It may come back in a cycle over a year, year and a half,” he said. “But when I hear people say that when they listen to my music, and feel comfort and are consoled by those lyrics that express these emotions, that makes me feel very good. It’s very encouraging. I think, for anybody, these emotions are not something that need to be hidden. They need to be discussed and expressed. Whatever emotions that I may be feeling, I’m always ready to express them now, as I was before.

He also told Rolling Stone about how his songwriting process is different when he writes for himself and BTS versus other artists. “The process is really different for every song. Sometimes it may be a word that pops up and I build on that word, or someone could make a request for a certain way they would like a song to be developed,” he said. “Oftentimes, we decide on a theme and then we sort of freely work from the larger overarching theme that we may have. But generally, when I work on a song, I create the beat first and then the melody and the rap and then finally the lyrics. That’s generally how I build them.”

In February 2023, Suga announced his first solo tour, the Agust D Tour, which will run from April 2023 to June 2023 and will span the United States, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and Japan. In an interview with Weverse magazine in 2022, Suga opened up about how being a producer for both his own music and BTS’ inspired him as a solo artist. “I think that, when I release an album as Agust D , that’s a solo work with solo promotions, and I feel like I should use the same system that regular groups do when they’re promoting and have a lead single and a B-side. I was thinking a lot recently that maybe I should shoot two music videos: one just there for the visuals, while the other is more focused on the listening experience. Ah, what should I do? I’m working hard on a follow-up to D-2 ,” he said.

He also told the magazine about how he’s grown as both a producer and rapper for BTS since the K-pop group’s debut in 2013. “Fortunately. Lately I’ve been thinking about how I don’t know what kind of music I should do when I get older, and that maybe I should try a few different styles now,” he said. “I think this is both a blessing and a curse, but I think that, while I’m able to work in various genres, I’m not sure any of them are that deep. That’s why I try to use many different styles and when I’m promoting my own material, I put in a lot of things I like, like surprises and twists. These days I started to want to do things again, too. And that brings me both worry and excitement.”

When asked what he wants ARMYs to feel when listening to his music, Suga told Weverse Magazine, “I used to place a lot of importance on music—especially when I was young—but now I’m trying hard not to place too much meaning on it. It’s just the times we live in, for one thing, because at some point we became a generation for whom music is simply background music.”

He continued, “I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. It’s a natural progression, and anyway, I thought there’s a difference between when a musician knows why they’re doing music or not. Here’s what I think: People who listen to my music—I mean, to a certain extent, I think being a fan of something is a must in life. You could be a fan of a person or a sport—whatever it’s about, I think being a fan is important because it makes life fun. Like feeling excited for the NBA playoffs as soon as you open your eyes in the morning. Some people are going to be excited for the day my music comes out and for me to perform. There aren’t a lot of things to be excited for in life. But for anyone who likes my music, I hope they’re excited for it—excited for when it comes out, excited for when I promote and excited for when I go on tour. I hope they’re excited for everything so I can give their life meaning each and every day.”

BTS’ Suga is heading abroad on his first-ever solo tour!

On February 15 at midnight KST, Suga officially announced his plans for his upcoming solo tour under the name Agust D.

Suga’s tour will kick off in the United States, where he will perform in Belmont Park on April 26 and 27; Newark on April 27; Rosemont on May 3, 5, and 6; Los Angeles on May 10, 11, and 14; and Oakland on May 16 and 17.

He will then return to Asia to perform in Jakarta for three nights from May 26 to 28, in Bangkok on June 10 and 11, and in Singapore on June 17 and 18, before holding two nights of concerts at Seoul’s Jamsil Indoor Stadium on June 24 and 25.

Suga will also be releasing more information about the Japan stops of his tour at a later date.

It was announced in February 2023 that Min Yoongi will be going on his solo tour, titled under his BTS alternate stage name Agust D. This is the first time a BTS member will be touring solo. Other band members have in the recent past performed solo or released albums, but Yoongi is making history as the fisrt Bangtan member to go on tour sans the other 6 members.

General Presale Canceled Due to Heavy Demand

Just hours after the ARMY Member presale for began on Wednesday (March 1), Ticketmaster took to Twitter to announce that it has canceled the rest of the sales rounds. “Due to extremely high demand during today’s ARMY MEMBER Presale, there will not be a General Verified Fan Presale or General Onsale,” the ticket company posted.

However, members of the ARMY pointed out that there are still available tickets under the “Official Platinum” category with inflated prices. “Stop with the platinum tickets. I still see them on there 5 hours later, popping in then greying out then appearing again. release them at the fixed prices,” one fan tweeted.

Where can you buy Agust D Tour tickets?

Most tickets to the Agust D Tour on Ticketmaster and sold out almost immediately. Ticketmaster were prioritizing BTS Army Membership holders, then those who were part of the Ticketmaster Verified Fan platform. Verified fans were given priority access to tickets with a special access code. But now, you’ll find the majority of Suga tickets on sale on trusted resale sites like StubHub and Vivid Seats.

Suga has been releasing his own self-produced music for a few years now. Back in 2016, he dropped a debut self-titled mixtape as Agust D, then followed that project up in 2020 with another mixtape, D-2. Suga has also done a bunch of production work for other artists recently, including Psy, the Japanese singer Ømi, and his BTS bandmate Jungkook.
