Hanging Out with Carly Pearce at Her 'Place' on the Road

The GRAMMY-winning country star gave us an exclusive bus tour in honor of her new song “my place” — out now!

“My place” is already a fan favorite—Carly has been performing it live for audiences while on the road with Tim McGraw for his 2024 Standing Room Only arena tour.

“I wrote this song about a dream I had long before the relationship I was in ended, but I knew that it would,” says Carly. “It’s hard to watch people move on and realize your heart can’t live there anymore, but that realization is the beginning of the healing process.”

While “my place” is about coming to terms with the fact that an ex has moved on and that their heart and home “ain’t my place anymore,” Carly does have a place to hangout and feel at home when she's on the road—her tour bus! She gave us an exclusive bus tour in honor of her new song’s release, and even showed us what she keeps in her fridge. Watch below:

What details make Carly’s bus feel like “her place”? The stylishly comfy, tufted green velvet couch topped with pretty throw pillows, for one. It’s one of her favorite spots on the whole bus: “I live on this bus with my band, and they just have to deal with too many pillows. These make me feel like I’m at home,” she says.

She also has a kitchenette that looks like a real kitchen and even includes burners where her bass player Philip Noel cooks up filets that can rival any restaurant. She goes grocery shopping to maintain a sense of normalcy while traveling, she tells us, and stocks the refrigerator drawer with staples: string cheese, hummus, carrots, her favorite salad dressing (we zoomed in—that’s Bolthouse Farms Classic Ranch Yogurt Dressing), and rosé (all day!).

She has added personal touches throughout, like the gallery wall below. “I wanted to bring a little bit of some of my favorite moments and make this really feel like it is my home, because I spend more time here than I do at my actual house. So I have some big moments, like when I won my Grammy, Johnny and June, my puppies … fan photos, all kinds of things.”

Side note: We love that Carly named her pups after the legendary country music couple June Carter and Johnny Cash . (Zoom in on the framed photo on the top-left above to see those sweet doggos wearing adorable cowboy hats!)

Other creature comforts on the bus include a big bed (a luxury on the road) and a private bath with an extremely well-organized closet for her everyday clothes.

Like us, Carly loves a good scented candle to create the ambiance of home. We tracked hers down—it’s The Desert candle by Pacha Soap Co. with notes of amber, smoke, and incense.

In addition to the 2024 tour with Tim McGraw, you can catch Carly performing stateside this summer at CMA Fest on June 9 in Nashville, Tennessee. Next year, she will kick off her headlining hummingbird 2025 uk/eu tour on February 9 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Greater Toledo International Youth Orchestra travels to Japan for four-city tour

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Greater Toledo International Youth Orchestra is headed to Japan for a four-city tour.

The tour is part of the group’s mission to “bridge cultural diversity through music.” Several students from school districts throughout northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan play in the orchestra.

13 Action News caught up with the orchestra before they left on June 7.

“It’s much more modern, even than we are,” said Wesley Droll, a violin player in the orchestra. “The cultural differences between us is probably what I’m most excited for.”

The trip includes three concert performances in various cities, including Toledo’s sister city, Toyohashi.

Big bus tours adds 40 electric sightseeing buses to its fleet.

Global open-top tour bus operator Big Bus Tours has added 40 electric sightseeing buses to its fleet in time for the summer holiday season.

Big Bus Tours is introducing 20 brand-new Ankai electric buses in Paris and Vienna and retrofitting 20 buses in London by converting 20 of the existing diesel fleet to electric.

The new electric tour buses in Paris and Vienna are purpose-built electric sightseeing buses supplied by Ankai Anhui. The buses have 315 kW battery packs, sending power to the road through a ZF hub-motor axle. The buses can DC fast charge within four to six hours, depending on the grid load.

In London, the original buses are 2012 Ankai tri-axle diesel converted to fully electric by Equipmake. The conversion entails fitting a 327 kW battery pack that sends power to a single motor driving directly into the existing axles. The buses can be charged either AC or DC. The London buses are only used during the day, so they’ll be charged overnight on 22 kW chargers.

“We are thrilled to welcome these new electric buses as part of our investment in sustainability,” said Pat Waterman, executive chairman of Big Bus Tours. “This EV expansion is a major step forward in reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing the tour experience for our customers.”

The electric buses in all three European cities will hit the road this summer, bringing the company’s total electric fleet to 51 (just over 10% of its global fleet).

Charges against off-duty National Guardsman who pursued tour bus to Falmouth dismissed

An off-duty National Guard officer from Joint Base Cape Cod was cleared of all charges Monday relating to a September 2022 incident in which he pursued a tour bus carrying seniors to their East Falmouth hotel believing it was transporting migrants due to a "Tallahassee, Florida" sign on its side.

Christopher Hoffman, 53, faced multiple charges , including driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent driving, possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and disorderly conduct. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Hoffman recorded his pursuit of the bus on Facebook Live. Defense attorney John Diamond could not be immediately reached for comment.

Falmouth District Court Judge Paul G. Pino dismissed all charges Monday against Hoffman due to lack of prosecution, officially ordering the dismissal on Wednesday.
