They sell souvenirs, maps, books and tickets for museums and events.
At the I amsterdam Store is also an information point where you can come to find out what’s happening in Amsterdam, through personal advice or at the reading table that has iPads with Internet access.

Where Is the Tourist Office in Amsterdam?
Courtesy of VVV Tourist Office Amsterdam
The city tourist office in Amsterdam is located directly across the street from Amsterdam Central Station, at Stationsplein 10, in the lovely Noord-Zuid Hollands Koffiehuis (North-South Holland Café). Look out for the triple "V" (VVV is the abbreviation of the tourist info service) or the lowercase "i" on the café facade.
The staff is on hand to provide tourist information and make reservations. They also sell essentials such as books, maps, public transport cards, and tourist discount passes —not to mention a variety of "I Amsterdam"—branded souvenirs.

Stationsplein 10 1012 AB Amsterdam
The café itself is of special note: it's late-Art Nouveau architecture dates to 1911 when it served as a port of call for a commuter ferry. It is one of the few non-residential projects from Amsterdam-born architect Willem Leliman, who also invented the clever, mushroom-shaped posts that indicate directions on the country's cyclist and pedestrian trails.
There is indeed still a café on-site (albeit separate from the tourist office): the café has operated under the auspices of Loetje, a full-service café, and restaurant (kitchen open until 10:30 pm), since 2015. Loetje took over from the former Smits Koffiehuis, an Amsterdam institution that served customers at this spot for 95 years, since 1919; when the last member of the Smits family retired in 2013, the tradition of the Noord-Zuidhollanse Koffiehuis passed on to Loetje, already an established café chain in Amsterdam.

What Does “VVV” Stand For?
Most Dutch don't even know the answer to this since the acronym is now the only name used for these Dutch tourist information centers. But VVV once stood for the Vereniging voor Vreemdelingenverkeer— a mouthful that means "Association for the Traffic of Foreigners." Thankfully, it has been retired as the official name in favor of "VVV Nederland."
The VVV has assisted tourists since 1885, when the first office opened in Valkenburg aan de Geul, in the southern province of Limburg, an ancient, walled city renowned for its Roman catacombs and its castles. Today there are nearly a hundred VVV offices across the country.

Dear sir/madam, On June 26th I’ve intended to buy Amsterdam&Region (3 day) tickets from the automat in Centraal Station (TNL464980), paid for two but while printing due to machine error could get only one. I have immidiately contacted the ticket office on the same floor, they told me the amount will be returned automatically and we bought the second ticket from the counter. The amount is not returned yet, I have alson contacted Connexion customer relations via their web site, but could not get any response. I’m waiting for 40,50 € return.
Hello Amsterdam Tourist Info, I’m contacting you from the european leader in parking reservations. I’ve seen you have covered parking in your website and thought we could have a collaboration to offer our 119 parkings in your blog post and when any user makes a reservation you could get a commission on that sale. I’d love to chat further about this with you, I’ll be awaiting your response to see if you are interested on this.
Would have loved to send a contact form but captcha is not working.
Best, Luis.
Captcha does not work. Hello, We are a party of 4 people. Hoping that the weather will be ok, we have rented electric bikes for the week we will spend in Amsterdam end of this month. We have a few ideas for where to go, expecting about 30-40 km per day. I wondered if you could tell us what are the best things to do, in your opinion ? Here are our ideas : (1) A north loop up to Zaans, then back through stootersplas lake,Landsmeer, noordhollandschkanaal. (2) A northeastern loop to durgerdam, Ransdorp, holysloot, back through buitengouw. (3) take the train to haarlem and then a loop through spaarndam, brederode castle, west through the dunes, the beach until zanvoort and back to haarlem. (4) Amstel river go one side and return the other side, maybe with on top a loop around Rondehoep. (5) take the train to Purmerend overwhere and then a loop to visit Edam, Volendam and Monnickendam.
Could you give us some advice about the itineraries which would be the most beautiful ? Do you have any warning to tell us for one of these itineraries ?
By the way, is it easy to take the train with the bikes ?
Thanks in advance Philippe

Good Day, We are going to be visiting Amsterdam in July, Because of our plans we are only going to be in the city a few hours following departing a cruise. We are trying to ascertain if there are any easily accessible Luggage lockers that we would be able to use for a few hours. We have looked at a company called Luggagehero, but not being familiar with the city and not being able to get an address or specific information of the facility until after reservations, that makes me uncomfortable. Any offerings or suggestions you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. My wife and I will be in Amsterdam for two full days after a river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. We have early morning tickets at the 21st of August for the Anne Frank house and museum. We would then like to visit the Corrie ten Boom house. Is there public transportation close to the Anne Frank house that we can catch to get us there or do we have to got to the Central Station? We would go by train or bus at your recommendation. Thank you so much – Mike W.
Hi Michael,
From Anne Franks house it’s a short distance to go the Central Station Amsterdam. You need to go by train from Amsterdam CS to the Corrie ten Boom huse in Haarlem. That’s the best solution. AmsterdamTourist.info
The EYE filmmuseum has not been free for 2 years, please update your info!
My husband and I will arrive in Holland 2 May and will leave 11 May. I’ve researched different museum/attraction cards and am thinking the Holland Medium Pass is best but would like your recommendation as it is a bit confusing. We want to visit Rijkesmuseum, Royal Delft Experience, Vermeer,Unnesco Kinderdijk, Heineken, Frans Hall,Van Gogh Museum, Marken Express, Keukenhof, Canal cruise, and Rembrandt House. MuseumKaart has been suggested by many but will be going outside Amsterdam so I’m thinking Holland Pass better. We will have the a TripKey so travel is not a consideration in choosing best option. Thinking gold pass for Rijkes, Van Gogh and silver for Keukenhof or canal cruise and Heineken. Will then use discount card for other attractions/museums. Can I buy discount tickets at a Tourist Information site or do I buy at each museum/attraction. If at each site, do I have to queue with others buying tickets? Your recommendation please. Many thanks.
Dear Kyle, Museumkaart is also valid outside Amsterdam; it’s a national card. But you only get discounts at museums, not at any attraction like Heineken Experience, a Canal Cruise, Marken Express etc. So if you want to visit both museums and attractions we recommend the Amsterdam Holland Pass. Unfortunately the Amsterdam Holland Pass does not give access anymore to a fast track entrance. Amsterdam has become more and more popular during the last years that the largest museums can’t accept this anymore. So yiu have to stand in line like al other ticket holders. If you have used your GOLDEN & SILVER tickets you can use the Amsterdam Holland Pass for disocunts. These discounted tickets you have to buy at the museum/attraction itself. Perhaps you have to buy the Amsterdam Holland Pass LARGE if you are planning to visit that much museums and attractions >> https://www.amsterdamtourist.info/tips/amsterdamdiscount-cards/amsterdam-holland-pass/ Enjoy our beautiful city within a few days! Kind Regards, Mirjam & Jan
