• Cancel up to 7 days before the Experience start time for a full refund, or within 24 hours of booking as long as the booking is made more than 48 hours before the start time.
• For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience.
• If we cancel the experience due to unavoidable circumstances, then a full refund will be processed.
• For groups sizes of 15 and above, refund upon cancellation will be provided if cancellation is done 7 days prior to the booking date of the experience.

FAQ’s

• What is the best time for kayaking in Goa ? Early mornings and early evenings are ideal for Chapora river kayaking. Time slots range between 7:00am to 08:00 am and 04:30 pm to 06:30 pm. Kayaking between 9:30am to 3:30pm is not recommended.
•  I have never kayaked before. How long does it take to get the hang of it ? Don’t worry, kayaking is easy and you will get the hang of it after a few minutes on the water. With first-timers, we go through a few practice rounds of turning and stopping before we head out.
• Should we keep specific health conditions in mind before signing up ? Kayaking is a low-impact activity that anyone can do. However, people with severe lower back problems and severe knee issues might find it difficult to sit on the kayak for the whole duration of the experience.
• What is the size of a typical group ? The average group comprises 6 people. The number of guests depends on the bookings received.
• Do you offer flexible timings for this experience ? No. Dates and timings are dependent on the tide calendar. Tour timings are based on the high tide schedule for that particular day.
• Is the experience child-friendly? The minimum age to kayak is 5 years. One adult is paired with each child to maintain the balance of weight in the kayak.
• Is kayaking a physically challenging activity ? Kayaking is a pretty easy activity for everyone. You only need a few skills to get started – basic paddling technique, how to get in and out of the vessel, and how to launch the boat. Kayaking works the muscles of the upper body and core.
• I cannot swim. Is it safe for me to participate in this experience ? Definitely. The earmarked route has been designed to avoid major river currents. Your leader for the tour is a trained rescue diver, so be rest assured of your safety.
• Can we carry beer, wine or liquor during the experience ? Please don’t. Alcohol consumption is a strict no-no during this activity.
• What is the ideal clothing to wear ? We suggest comfortable, quick-dry clothes and/or activewear. For example, shorts, a t-shirt, a hat and sun-glasses would work for late afternoon or early evening tours. Wear footwear with adequate grip and straps. Remember, shoes will get wet and soiled. Avoid sports or leather shoes/boots unless they are specifically made for the water.
• Are we allowed to carry electronic gadgets such as phones and cameras while kayaking ? Yes, you can carry gadgets at your own risk. We provide 1 dry bag for the group. However, we don’t recommend bringing more than 2 phones on a kayak.
• Do you have a locker facility to store my belongings ? We do not provide storage lockers. Guests leave their belongings in their vehicles during the guided tour.
• What health concerns should one watch out for before considering a kayak trip ? In a kayak, one has to sit in an L-position the entire time. There is also little room to move around or shift vertical and horizontal pressure to the lower back. Those with conditions affecting the lower back, lumbar spine and knees may find it uncomfortable to sit in the L-position for the duration of the tour. Each paddle stroke also relaxes and contracts the large muscles of the back. Proper posture – sitting upright with relaxed shoulders and legs in a neutral position will ensure comfort.

Candolim, calangute, baga, anjuna and morjim – the popular beaches fill up most itineraries every time a trip to goa is planned. however, goa’s backwaters remain unexplored., goa is known as the party capital of india, and while north goa is the hub of tourism in the city, some other parts remain fairly untouched. there is another side to this beautiful corner of india, one that’s far removed from the parties and coco-huts of goa’s ever-popular beaches. just a few steps from goa’s beaches, the state’s network of rivers, creeks, mangroves and backwaters begins. goa’s back­waters are stunning and still completely unchanged. like much of goa, they are at their most breath-taking during the monsoon. there are five major rivers in goa: the chapora, mandovi, zuari, sal and talpona.  , away from the beaches and party spaces take a backwater ride in chapora river as you spot distinct birds and fishes along with the breathtaking sunset and sunrise or book a stay at olaulim goa’s stunning backwaters in the mandovi backwaters. .

It is regarded as the lifeline of the State of Goa as its watershed covers about 42% of the total area of the State, resulting in an extensive use of its water for drinking and agriculture purposes. Another ideal place for adventure seekers and nature lovers in Goa is the Cumbarjua canal. One can take a Backwater Cruise ride through this canal’s thick mangrove trees and marshes and spot crocodiles sunbathing lazily on the banks. Spend an overnight on our hand crafted Houseboat sailing along the unspoiled Chapora river and bask in the serenity of life in the Goan back waters, exploring river back farming, cockle fishing, and an incredible array of birds.

Day 1 We depart Siolim jetty @ 1700 Hrs sailing past the 16th century Chapora fort and fishermen in their little row-boats, towards the ocean, to spot Dolphins or swim on the deserted Morjim beach. After a glorious sunset, we sail into the backwaters, alongside little ancient villages dotted with their Temples, Churches and Coconut farms before we moor for the night where you can try your luck at crab fishing whilst you sip your drink. Your crew will serve you a hot tasty Goa’n - Indian dinner before we call it a night. You’re free to use the upper deck and share some unforgettable moments under the starry skies..

Day 2 Wake up to a refreshing cup of Tea / Coffee with the chirping of birds, try your luck at fishing whilst having a filling breakfast, and if lucky with some freshly caught & smoked clams or mussels. Around 0930 we sail along the silent river with lunch, and drop off at the jetty at 1300 Hrs where your car will be waiting to drop you back to your hotel.

Backwater Cruise Goa

Backwater cruise is a renowned getaway in Goa. It sails along the Mandovi’s lined banks, Old Goa and the islands, Chorao and Divar. People of all ages can board this cruise and relish the cheery time. The cruise has been named Shantadurg and it carries about 150 passengers. During this five-hour long tour one can indulge in various entertainment activities. The sight of abundant greenery, huge fishing nets, dolphins, glistening water, thick mangroves and even crocodiles sunning at the bay awaits you.

The cruise halts at spice garden at Savoi/ Keri where one gets in acquaintance with spice production and the distillation process, where the juice of cashew apples is used to make Goan urak/feni. Moreover, at the entrance of the spice garden is an elephant who often takes people for short rides. The aroma of cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, pepper is filled in the air. The visitors get warm welcome by the Spice Garden’s staff after a short stroll in the plantation. Further on they can enjoy the Goan food served on banana leaf. Returning back on the cruise, you can refresh your soul with the passing sight of the city .The cruise also passes through Dr. Salim’s Ali Bird Sanctuary at Chorao Iasland; a bird-enthusiast’s paradise.

Timing for departure and arrival of the cruise is- 9:30 pm to 4:00 pm (Tuesdays and Fridays). Entry charges are 900 per person with dinner and Rs. 450 for children between 5-12 years of age. The given information is valid from 1-10-2014 to 31-3-2015.

Brief Description of Laid Back waters.

Our Houseboat consists of 3 cabins.. The price is for 1 cabin (double sharing) with inclusive of pick and drop from particular locations (North Goa), dinner, breakfast, lunch, in house drinks ,mineral water and soft drinks.

Day 1 We depart Siolim jetty @ 1700 hrs sailing past the 16th century Chapora fort and fishermen in their little row-boats, onwards towards the ocean, to swim on the deserted Morjim beach. After a glorious champagne sunset, we sail into the backwaters, alongside little ancient villages dotted with their Temples, Churches and Coconut farms before we moor for the night where you can try your luck at crab fishing whilst you sip your drink. Your crew will serve you a hot tasty Goan – Indian dinner before we call it a night. You’re free to use the upper deck and share some unforgettable moments under the starry skies.

Day2 Wake up to a refreshing cup of Tea / Coffee with the chirping of birds, try your luck at fishing whilst having a filling breakfast, and if lucky with some freshly caught & smoked clams or mussels. Around 0830hrs we sail along the silent river with lunch, and drop off at the jetty at 1300hrs where your car will be waiting to drop you back to your hotel.
