I received the coupon book on my January Panama Canal cruise on the Carribean Princess. According to the cover of the book, it contained "over $750 in Value!".

My book still contains all of the coupons, since I did not use any of them. Some of them may be useful for you if you want to dine at a specialty restaurant on embarkation evening (and you're not in a suite) or if you want to purchase things from the shops onboard, from the Lotus Spa, from the photographers, or from the art auction.

Fine print on the BOGO specialty restaurant???

I once found a coupon for an "extra" BOGO at Skywalker's. The regular late night BOGO was 11 - 12. The coupon was for a BOGO in Skywalker's from 10 - 11. I ordered a double straight shot at 10:45 and another one at 11:00. I poured them together,went back to my cabin, put the glass with the booze on the shelf, and went to bed. No way did I need 4 shots of whiskey that late but I was pleased to have them around the next day. I also once used the 10% off if you bought 2 bottles or more in the duty free shop. Those the only times I used anything from the coupon book. I didn't need the one for the liquor as they automagically scanned one they keep there all the time.

We have found the coupon books on several cruise lines not just Princess to be basically worthless. This one appears to fit the mold of worthless as well. Maybe someone will find something in there they can use however.

A few years ago, the coupon book included an offer for a small bottle of wine with dinner at either Sabatini or Crown Grille. Granted, it wasn't premium wine, but it was OK, and the only coupon I've ever used.

The offers in the coupon book are similar to the myriad of "super sale" flyers we find every morning, noon and night at our cabin door. Do I really need to spend $500 on cosmetics to get 10% off when I can get a similar deal, spending far less, at a mall department store and receive another gift package of complimentary items. Funny, I've seen the same mall department store gift packs on display aboard many ships, and run between $25 and $35.

Now if the cruise line really wanted to promote spending on the ship, they need to develop something better than the piles of assorted t-shirts and $10 evening bag sales in the dining room.

We received one of these books on our Royal Princess cruise in January 2018. We only used the BOGO for speciality dining coupon. No fine print other than it had to be on embarkation evening. We had no problem securing reservations that evening, gave the coupon to our waiter when we were seated and were only charged for one dinner. There was an expiration date on it for December 31, 2018.

Since we were given two books and only used one of the BOGO coupons... we saved the other to use on our upcoming TA in April.

I'm not willing to mail it. DW may still want to use one or two coupons.   However, I would be willing to give away unused coupons to people on my March 18th Circle Carribean cruise on the Carribean Princess. I will probably wait to see if I meet someone at embarkation or at lunch that I want to invite to join us at Sabatini's on embarkation evening. I just posted in my Roll Call to see if anyone wants to join us.

I admit that I paid a lot more attention to the other items listed and paid absolutely no attention to the listing for the CRUISE NIGHT COUPON BOOKS.

A probem with the specialty restaurant promotion would be that most people would probably not read all of the coupons in the book before the first night's dinner. If you don't know it's there, you probably won't find it until too late to use it.

I have not received that book for my cruise next week, I hope I do get one I would love to do the specialty dining.

Those coupon "books" (in my opinion, unless can spend money foolishly, are pretty much useless), are given out on a "promotion". The last time we sailed with my son and DIL, when we booked, we didn't get that offer, but when they booked a few weeks later, they got a book in their cabin. I don't need Effy jewelry, watches or booze, or to be entered in some "drawing" which you have to be present for. One time though a friend onboard got a book with that "free" or discounted wine at the specialty restaurant and let us have it. They used to have a coupon for "free play match" in the casino, but I haven't seen that in a while. I too, use it for a coaster or steady the chair on the balcony....

Each Princess cruise offers a set number of amenity points as part of the Travel Agent’s Group Programme. These points can be used to ‘buy’ amenities to customize each agency’s group. The consumer amenities are protected even if the minimum group size is not met. Below is a summary of the available amenities for the 2012-13 Programme, along with their points value. 

The number of amenity points available on each cruise can be found in the Programme Release and varies over time. Although amenity points are subject to change at any time, our intention is to reduce them according to the same schedule as the group recall dates (see next page for details). Groups taken out before the first recall date on a voyage will receive up to the initial amount of amenity points shown in the programme releases. After the first recall date, the number of amenity points will be reduced. Groups taken out after the second recall date will not receive amenity points.

All group amenity points that are unassigned after 70 days prior to departure will be forfeited.

Received a Princess brochure 'Exclusive Balcony Fares + up to $200 OBC' and brochure has a Campaign Code ##########. Sample 'Public Fare' balcony $2,999 instead of $3,299. I do not see any such fare online and do not see anywhere to apply Campaign Code. Any suggestion ?

Contact your PVP (I'd email it to mine) and as long as the offer was extended to you that will do it. Not everyone gets every offer. I never get the 600 airfare credit ones & those "lowest fares in the category" never apply to me because I book lower floors midship balconies. Yes, it's up to 500 less if I want to go way up top and up front. No thank you ~~~ but I get the OBC (need 25 per day as I book Best Price)

It is a paper brochure via regular mail and we use a TA. Various sample itineraries from around the world are are shown. The example I mention just says 'British Isles 12 days', no month or year. Across the bottom it says Visit Princess.com - Call Your TA - Call a vacation planner.

ETA As a matter of fact I did a mock booking and the price is less than this brochure price, So maybe the promo does not matter 🙂

Final confusion - when I log in and choose the specific cruise, the price is $2,519 for a balcony or $2,668 for public versus brochure $2,999. As you say, possibly the current 72 hour sale trumps the brochure.

I know this will irritate everyone else on Cruise Critic but  if I think there is any chance that I can get a family member to babysit Koda 🐕‍🦺  and I like the itinerary, I book it. I keep well over 3/4ths because the Bank of Mom and main provider of family 4-legged member can usually remember their work / touring schedules.  Like right now: 4 booked, only 9/2/22 TA still iffy (wedding?)

So are you going to reserve it? Does it meet your price point? (I do keep mine in mind) $2519/12 nights = $209.92 night meets mine. I'll look for it 🤑

It is July 20 2022 on Emerald, 12 Days British Isles. Not quite Bucket List but very interesting. Different dates are several hundred $ more pp. Too many balls in the air and fellow travelers to consult, so have not booked it. I was just intrigued by the brochure and had never seen a place for Promo Code and the fact that British Isles is on our possible list got me curious.

I just got a different on recently and had one a little while back I used to re-fare our Europe 2022 voyages.  If you look at the fine print, the offer should be a 3-character code beginning "U**".  The U codes are targeted offers.

The eligible fare codes are associated with your Captains Circle member number.  When you shop cruises online at Princess.com, you can see the difference when logged in versus not.  When logged in, you only see one pricing plan which Princess system selects and should be the best available offer for you.  That should be the new "U" code you received if the voyage is eligible under that promo.

You TA uses POLAR system to book for you and will also see all the available fare codes you can book under - not just the one shown on Princess.com.  The TA (same as Princess internal) can setup your booking with whichever one of the eligible fare codes you have. 

Example:  We have four voyages booked for Europe sector next Fall.  I had our first and last cancelled and re-booked with the Europe promo we received in mail as it gave us the Fall Frenzy benefit, plus an EZ-Air rebate.  For the middle two voyages, I just re-fared us under regular Fall Frenzy as we didn't need the EZ-Air and it was cheaper to use regular Fall Frenzy rate code.

It not so much whether one eligible fare code trumps another - it is simply a matter of electing the fare code which is best for what you want.  But it is possible that the 72-hr sale could beat your offer.  Again, Princess.com should be showing you the best offer.

Check and discuss with your TA and you should find out other pricing options.  Some websites have self-serve booking engines where you can see multiple pricing options whereas Princess.com only shows one (with Saver and Plus options within).

For a limited time, guests who add the Princess Plus package or Princess Premier package to their cruise booking will have that cruise count twice towards loyalty level tier achievement in the Captain’s Circle loyalty program.

Guests sailing on any Princess cruise that departs between August 1, 2024 and December 1, 2024 who add the Princess Plus package OR the Princess Premier package to their booking.  The Princess Plus or Princess Premier package must be added to the booking at least 2 days prior to embarkation day.  All guests, (this includes all U.S. and all non-U.S. resident guests) who meet these criteria are eligible.

ANY guest who purchases Princess Plus or Princess Premier package at least two days prior to sailing and who sails during the sailing time period (August 1 – December 1, 2024) qualifies and will have their cruise and # of days cruised count double towards their Captain’s Circle level achievement.

There is no promo code to enter.  Any booking that sets sail between August 1 and December 1, 2024 which has also added either a Princess Plus or Princess Premier package to the booking at least 2 days prior to applicable embarkation date will automatically have their cruise credits doubled.  Cruise credits are how each Guest’s Captain’s Circle tier level is achieved.  Both cruises taken and cruise days count towards calculating a guest’s loyalty tier and both will be doubled for eligible guests.  A guest’s cruise credits will appear on their “My Princess” page, on the Captain’s Circle tab within a few days of completion of their cruise.

For reference, current Captain’s Circle Tiers are:

Example:  Guest is booked on a 7-night cruise that sails on August 1, 2024 and the guest adds Princess Plus to their booking.  That one cruise will count as 2 cruises and 14 cruise days towards their Captain’s Circle tier qualification.
