In other The 1975 news, Healy recently responded to Noel Gallagher’s comments about him at a 1975 show in Dublin last week (June 7).

“Noel Gallagher called me a ‘slack-jawed fuckwit’… I love Noel Gallagher. We asked Liam to open up and he said he would have done it but he was busy,” he told the crowd.

“But I love Noel Gallagher… He’s just getting on,” he added. “The difference between me and Noel is that I do a series of interviews to promote an album, whereas he does an album to promote a series of interviews. But we love you Noel. Get Oasis back together!”

At the show, Healy also acted as the support slot for his own band, after  Caroline Polachek pulled out at the last minute due to losing her voice .

In his stripped-back solo set, he performed covers of ‘I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You’ by Colin Hay, and Donny Hathaway’s ‘A Song For You’, which was performed alongside touring guitarist Jamie Squire. He also  performed the live debut of their song ‘Then Because She Goes’ .

The 1975

The 1975 has announced the “Still… At Their Very Best” fall tour, the band’s biggest North American tour to date. The Matty Healy-led group will take their fifth album, “Being Funny in a Foreign Language,” across the U.S. and Canada for the second time since its October 2022 release.

The tour will kick off Sept. 26 in Sacramento, Calif., and end Dec. 2 in Seattle.

The band had teased the tour on social media throughout the month, posting vague visuals and linking to an online registration form.

Popular on Variety

The tour evolved throughout its initial North American run, from altered setlists to surprise guest cameos from Phoebe Bridgers and Bleachers. Healy made headlines for bringing fans onstage during “Robbers” and passionately kissing them.

Variety praised the band’s latest performance at Madison Square Garden , calling the concert a “captivating exposition from a band that embraces nearly every pop trope yet demands to be taken seriously.” The band will return to the famed New York City venue on Nov. 14.

A fan presale begins June 21 at 10 a.m. local time, while public tickets will go on sale June 23 at 10 a.m. on the 1975’s website .

The 1975 announce 39-date North American tour

The massive still...at their very best tour features shows across the u.s. and canada, beginning in september of this year..

the 1975 tour gross

The 1975 have announced a behemoth run of shows in the U.S. and Canada slated for this fall. The band's Still...at their very best tour kicks off on September 26 at Sacramento's Golden 1 Center, and will wrap up almost three whole months later at Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena. In celebration, they've also released Episode 4 of their absurdist video series "A Theatrical Performance Of An Intimate Moment."

Still...at their very best is a continuation of the 1975's ongoing At Their Very Best tour, which has been marked by near-constant online discourse, mostly thanks to the antics of frontman Matty Healy. These include eating raw meat on stage, making out with fans, cameramen, and security guards, and — oh, yeah — dating Taylor Swift . These new shows promise an expanded production, but what that means is still anyone's guess.

Meet the crew behind The 1975: At Their Very Best

In an industry where scale often trumps concept, The 1975 present a dynamic production where conceptual narrative, a positive workplace culture and scarcity breeds creativity.

The 1975’s prior touring campaigns have concentrated on the role social media plays in our lives and the weight of technology that we find ourselves under, depicted by monolithic LED walls, floating cubes, and a 11m-wide treadmill. This time around, maximalism has made way for storytelling, as the production spotlights the type of content we consume through these screens and the prevailing confusion between masculinity, sexuality and politics. The 1975: At Their Very Best takes this divisive content, which for the most part is challenging and uncomfortable to acknowledge in person, and places it in front of thousands of live music fans in venues across the globe each night. At First Direct Arena – fittingly a venue based in a city home to The 1975’s first ever live show – TPi went behind the scenes to discover the inner workings of this complex production.

Taylor Swift Adds 'Female Rage: The Musical' to Eras Tour, Featuring 'Tortured Poets Department' Songs

T aylor Swift's Eras Tour picked back up in Paris on May 9, her first show since the release last month of her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department." The singer has added new songs to the mix, but in a significantly more epic way than many expected heading into this leg of the Eras Tour -- in a portion of the show that she's referred to as "Female Rage: The Musical."

"This post is dedicated to the new Tortured Poets section of the Eras Tour (aka Female Rage The Musical!) and everyone who made these memories so magical," Swift wrote on social media Sunday. "To my crew, fellow performers, and band who worked tirelessly in their break to concoct this surprise for you -- but mostly for the fans in Paris."

"I'm so thankful that it was you we got to show this to for the first time because you gave us so much excitement, passion, and love. I'm SO fired up to play this for every crowd on the tour. See you very soon, Stockholm!" Swift concluded.

The moniker is a playful explanation of the new songs Swift added, many of which express dismay and anger about a failed relationship. She's presented the new songs in a new highly theatrical portion of her set, complete with new choreography, costumes and complex graphics packages.

Fans have speculated that much of "The Tortured Poets Department" is about Matty Healy, the British lead singer of the 1975 that Swift dated for a short two months.

Photos shared by Swift show everything from a UFO to some tuxed-up background dancers getting involved. She has added seven new songs to the concert line-up, including "So High School" and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

Fans have speculated on Reddit that the addition of the new songs could be the precursor to a musical adaptation of some kind. It's also a change that leaves her "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" concert film feeling like it's missing a little something, so we'll have to wait to see whether that movie gets a version with a new addendum. Adding new songs forced Swift to cut a few fan favorites, which included "The Archer," "Long Live" and "The Last Great American Dynasty."

The first leg of the tour became the first to ever cross the $1 billion mark in terms of revenue, pulling in a gross of $1,039,263,762. (We don't know how many cents change it may have made in addition.) Swift broke the record previously set by Elton John's "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour, with Swift topping the piano legend in a frenetic eight months (John's tour began Sept. 8, 2018, and ended July 8, 2023).

The post Taylor Swift Adds 'Female Rage: The Musical' to Eras Tour, Featuring 'Tortured Poets Department' Songs appeared first on TheWrap .

A woman in a white dress with book-style text printed on it leans forward with a fierce expression, holding a microphone on an elevated platform above a crowd. It's Taylor Swift, with light-toned skin and blonde hair.
