Here's some general information you need to know after you visit the dentist. For more details,  log in  to your account or visit your plan's welcome page.

Welcome, Delta Dental PPO™ members

Welcome, DeltaCare® USA members

Paying for your visit

Depending on your plan and your dental office's billing practices, you may need to pay a copayment or coinsurance during your visit. If you go to an out-of-network dentist, you'll likely pay up front and submit a claim to request reimbursement. For more details, see the  File a claim  section on this page.

Claims and your Explanation of Benefits

After a visit to the dentist, you'll receive a dental benefits summary or Explanation of Benefits (EOB), which lists the procedures done, the portion of the fee that's covered by your plan and what you may owe to the dentist. For more details, watch  Your Explanation of Benefits, Explained  (video, 1:44 minutes).

If you have opted to go paperless, you'll receive an email notification when an Explanation of Benefits or other plan document is available. To view the document,  log in  to your account. Otherwise, you'll receive your documents by mail.

To view your Explanation of Benefits,  log in  to your account.

Submitted fee and accepted fee

The submitted fee is the amount that the dental office charges for your service and submits to Delta Dental. The accepted fee is the amount your dentist agrees to accept from Delta Dental as full payment for your service.

How to file a claim

If you visit a non–Delta Dental dentist and pay upfront, you may need to submit a claim. To do this,  log in  to your account and select  Claims & visits  and then "how to file a claim."

You can also download the claim form for your plan here:

Delta Dental PPO™ claim form   DeltaCare USA® claim form

Be sure the dentist signs the form and provides a statement of treatment or a detailed receipt that includes:

  • Dentist’s name, address and phone number
  • Date each service was performed
  • Description, procedure code and fee for each service performed
  • List of affected teeth
  • Total cost of services performed
  • Dentist’s National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Dentist’s Tax Identification Number (TIN)
  • State license number
  • Specialty code

If any of the information above is missing from the document you receive from your dentist, enter it on the claim form.

Complete, print and sign the form. Be sure the dentist signs it as well. Keep copies of the form and documents, and mail the originals to the address at the top of the claim form.

What if I need emergency dental care outside the U.S.?

If you're out of the country and you have a dental emergency, seek treatment from a licensed dentist immediately. Your plan may cover emergency dental services up to a certain amount.

Follow the  How to file a claim  instructions in the previous section. If possible, have any receipt or billing statement that's in another language translated into English so your claim can be processed in a timely matter. If the dentist's fee was paid in a different currency, it will be converted into U.S. dollars when the claim is processed.

How to file a grievance

If you're not satisfied with the service your dentist provided, contact the dental office. If your concerns still aren't resolved, you may file a formal grievance.

  • Delta Dental online grievance form
  •   CA DMHC cancellation of health care coverage grievance form  (PDF, 32.5 KB)

If you are submitting a grievance on behalf of a dependent age 18 or older, you'll need the dependent to submit a signed    authorization form  (PDF, 168 KB) to release their personal health information, per  federal HIPAA regulations .

Medical checklist on clipboard and stethoscope

A visit with your health care provider can be overwhelming. There are a few things to consider before, during and after your visit so you make the most of the time you have with your health care provider.

Prepare a discussion checklist.

Your health care provider will ask you several questions. The amount of questions depends on the reason for your visit and whether this provider has seen you before. Your answers help your provider understand your health and your health concerns.

Be prepared to discuss:

  • The main reason for your visit
  • New concerns
  • Past and present medical conditions
  • Any past surgeries
  • Prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins and herbal remedies
  • All allergies
  • Immunization records
  • Family medical history

Write down your main concerns.

Prepare a list of main concerns. Rank them in order of importance.

You may want to ask:

  • How can I improve my health?
  • Are there conditions or diseases I am at risk for?
  • What are possible side effects of medications I am taking?
  • Are there any available resources that will help me understand my medical conditions?

It also is important to tell your health care provider about anything in your personal life, such as an illness in the family, financial worries or job difficulties, that may affect your health.

Describe new symptoms or recent changes in symptoms.

Your health care provider may ask you detailed questions, such as:.

  • How long have you had the problem?
  • What does it feel like?
  • How often do the symptoms occur?
  • What brings on the symptoms?
  • What reduces the symptoms?
  • Is the problem getting worse?
  • Have other family members had similar problems?

Having a family member or friend with you can be helpful. Having two people hear the discussion can help later when you want to remember what was talked about. In addition, you can read the provider's notes from your visit through the patient portal.

Expect to ask all of your questions and have them answered. Talk with your health care provider about resources that may help answer your questions. This may take more time than this visit allows. If you need more time for questions, you may need to schedule a follow-up visit or a phone call.

Recap what you heard after the visit.

It may be helpful to write down what you learned from your visit. Include information about how your health care provider is planning to help you and what actions you can take to improve your health. Request an after-visit summary that includes visit diagnoses, treatment plans, medication list and patient education, if one was not provided to you.

Contact your health care provider by phone or the patient portal if you have additional questions about your visit. Read more about how you can use the patient portal for your health care .

Getting the most out of your doctor appointment.

Last Updated March 2023 | This article was created by familydoctor.org editorial staff and reviewed by Kyle Bradford Jones, MD, FAAFP

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Taking an active role in your health care can help you get the best care possible from your doctor. One way to do this is to make sure you get the most out of your office visit by preparing ahead of time and creating an agenda for your visit with your doctor. When you prepare for your appointment ahead of time, both you and your doctor will find the visit more helpful. Here are some tips you can follow for what to do before, during, and after your visit with your doctor. These tips can help you and your doctor work together to improve your health.

Path to improved health

Be prepared.

Usually, you will only have about 15 minutes of time with your doctor. To make sure you and your doctor get the most out of your time, be sure to think about your visit ahead of time.  Think about your concerns and questions. Write these things down before your visit. Make a list and bring it to your visit. With a list, you won’t have to worry about remembering everything you need to tell your doctor. Here are a few things you might consider before your visit:

  • Think about concerns and questions you have for your family doctor. Write these down. Start first with what is most important to you and end with the least important. Bring the list to your visit. Be ready to work with your doctor to reorder your list, if needed.
  • If you are a new patient, bring as much information as possible with you to help your new doctor learn your health history. If you are not a new patient, you only need to bring information with you that is new or has changed since your last visit with your doctor.
  • Write down your health history. You can create a “health journal” for yourself on paper or on your computer. Your health journal can include things like health problems you have or have had, blood pressure numbers, recent symptoms, food eaten, or a sleep diary. Bring the journal or health history to your appointments.
  • Take any X-rays, test results, or medical records you have. Your doctor can look at these to learn more about your health history.
  • Make a list of all the medicines you take, including when and how often you take the medicine. Include the strength of the medicine (for example, do you take 150 mg or 200 mg?). The list should also include any vitamins or supplements you take.
  • Talk to your family members to see if they can come with you to your appointment to listen, take notes, and ask questions.
  • If you will need an interpreter for your appointment, call your doctor’s office to let them know ahead of time.

Be sure to take your lists with you to your visit. The  Today’s Visit Form  or  Patient Pre-Visit Checklist  can help you with preparing for your visit with your doctor.

Talk to your doctor

When you talk to your doctor, follow these steps to make sure you and your doctor get the most out of your time together.

Go over your lists

Even though it’s hard, talk about the issues that are embarrassing or scary at the beginning of your visit. This will give your doctor plenty of time to address them. Your doctor is not there to judge you but to help you. Be honest.

Be sure to tell your doctor about any current and past health care issues or concerns. It’s important to share any information you can, even if you’re embarrassed. Give your doctor the following information during the exam:

  • Your symptoms
  • Personal information, such as stress or changes in your life
  • Any medicines you are taking, including supplements
  • Any side effects you are experiencing from your medicine(s). Be sure to tell your doctor if your medicine makes you feel sick or if you think you may be allergic to it. Also let them know if you are having trouble paying for your medicine. Your family doctor may be able to help find different medicines for you to take or explain why the ones you are taking are the right choice.

Ask questions

Don’t be afraid to speak up during your appointment. It’s important for you to let your doctor know if you don’t understand something. If you don’t ask questions, your doctor will think you understand everything. Here are some tips on asking your doctor questions:

  • Ask every time you don’t understand something.
  • If you can’t understand what your doctor is explaining, ask them to explain it in better detail, possibly using pictures or brochures.

Here are some good starter questions you can ask your doctor:

  • What do my symptoms mean?
  • Should I be tested for a disease or condition?
  • What caused this condition?
  • How serious is the condition?
  • How is it treated?
  • Are there any side effects to the treatment?
  • How long will treatment take?
  • How will this condition affect my life now and in the future?

If you run out of time, make a plan to get the rest of your questions answered.

  • Tell your doctor when you need more time to talk about something. If the doctor isn’t available to help, you should be able to talk to an assistant or a nurse. If no one else is available, see if you can schedule another appointment to ask the rest of your questions.

Take information home with you

Taking written or recorded information home with you can be helpful. It can help you remember information and instructions any time you need to. Your doctor is a good source of accurate information you can trust. The following are types of information you can take home with you:

  • Notes you have taken during the appointment. It’s ok for you to write down the information your doctor gives you. Sometimes it helps to bring a friend or family member with you. They can help write down the answers to your questions and other information shared by the doctor or nurse. You can also ask your doctor to write down notes for you.
  • Written instructions from your doctor. These should be provided to you at the end of your appointment.
  • A tape recording. Ask your doctor if it’s okay for you to record to the appointment to help you correctly remember everything.
  • Brochures or other educational materials. If there aren’t any available, ask where or how you can get some.

Things to consider

Make sure to follow any instructions you and your doctor discussed during the visit. This could include taking medicine, preparing for a test, or scheduling an appointment with a specialist. If you’re confused or if you’ve forgotten some information, it’s okay to contact your doctor. The following are some common reasons you may need to call your doctor or send an electronic message after your appointment:

  • If you have any questions after the appointment. Ask to leave a message with the doctor or speak with a nurse.
  • If you start to feel worse or have problems with your medicine
  • If you had tests and haven’t got the results

The Ultimate Checklist: What to Bring to Urgent Care Visit

Michael Barber

  • Urgent care offers immediate medical attention for non-life-threatening conditions.
  • Bring personal information, medical supplies, and comfort items for a comfortable visit.
  • Follow COVID-19 precautions, choose the right clinic, and manage anxiety for a stress-free experience.

What is Urgent Care?

Personal information, what you need during your visit, prepare to talk about your symptoms and concerns, bringing comfort items, medical supplies, payment plans and financial assistance, prepare for aftercare or follow-up, urgent care vs. emergency room care, tips for managing anxiety or stress related to seeking medical care.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

To make your visit to urgent care as smooth and efficient as possible, it's important to come prepared with everything you need.

To help you prepare for your next urgent care visit, we've put together the ultimate checklist of what to bring—from important medical information to comfort items that can help you pass the time. By bringing everything you need you can streamline your visit, reduce stress , and get back to feeling your best as soon as possible.

The Ultimate Checklist: What to Bring to Urgent Care Visit

Urgent care is a type of medical facility that provides immediate medical attention for non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries. According to the Urgent Care Association, many urgent care clinics are open on weekends and offer extended hours to accommodate patients who need medical attention outside of regular business hours.

Urgent care clinics offer a wide range of medical services. Some of the services you may be able to get at urgent care include:

  • Treatment for the symptoms of colds, flu , and COVID-19
  • Mild to moderate allergic reactions
  • Closed fractures
  • Muscle sprains or strains
  • Minor lacerations that may need stitches
  • Minor burns
  • STD testing and treatment
  • Treatment for the symptoms of a UTI
  • Mild to moderate infections
  • Lab testing and imaging services
  • Physicals for work, travel, or sports
  • Immunizations

One of the unique benefits of urgent care clinics is that they offer walk-in appointments for most minor to moderate illnesses and injuries. Urgent care clinics also typically have shorter wait times than emergency rooms, according to the Urgent Care Association.

When you visit urgent care, you'll need to provide your personal information for billing purposes and also to help your urgent care provider make the right diagnosis. Here is a comprehensive list of what you will need for the check-in and registration process, according to ZocDoc.com:

  • Identification - Bring a valid form of ID, such as a driver’s license or passport.
  • Insurance information - Bring your insurance card if you have one.
  • A form of payment, such as cash or credit card - Many urgent care clinics require a downpayment or co-pay at the time of service.
  • Name and contact information for your emergency contact .
  • A list of your current medications - This will help your healthcare provider understand your medical history and avoid any potential drug interactions.
  • Your request for an interpreter if you need one .

When it comes time to visit with your urgent care provider, you will likely need to be prepared to answer questions about the following:

  • Your past medical history, including details about any chronic conditions, surgeries, or hospitalizations you’ve had.
  • Your medications, including herbal supplements and over-the-counter medications.
  • Your allergies, including medication allergies, environmental allergies, and food allergies if applicable to your condition
  • Your family history, especially major medical conditions, like heart disease and cancer

During your visit at urgent care, it's important to be prepared to discuss your symptoms and any concerns you may have with the healthcare provider. This will help ensure that you receive the most appropriate care and treatment.

How to Describe Your Symptoms

Be prepared to describe your symptoms in detail. This includes:

  • When your symptoms started
  • How often your symptoms occur
  • Anything that makes your symptoms worse or better
  • Home remedies or over-the-counter treatments that you have tried

Some symptoms will need specific details. For example, if you have a fever , be sure to mention what your temperature has been and how long you've had the fever. If you are having pain, it is important to describe what the pain feels like, where it is exactly, and when it started.

It can be helpful to create a timeline of your symptoms. This can include when they started, any changes in severity, and any treatments you've tried. All of this information can help the healthcare provider determine the cause of your symptoms and the best course of action.

When you're heading to urgent care, you want to make sure you're as comfortable as possible. Here are some items you should consider bringing along

  • Comfortable clothing - Opt for loose-fitting clothing that won't constrict you or rub against any sensitive areas. You might also want to bring a sweater or jacket in case the waiting room is chilly.
  • Water bottle - Staying hydrated is important, especially if you're not feeling well. Bring a water bottle with you so you can sip on water throughout your visit.
  • Reading material or entertainmen t - Waiting can be boring, so bring along something to keep you entertained. A book, magazine, or even your phone can help pass the time. Just be mindful of any noise or distractions you might cause to others in the waiting room.

When preparing for a visit to urgent care, it's important to bring any necessary medical supplies to ensure a smooth visit. Here are some medical supplies that you should remember to bring with you:

  • Inhaler - If you have asthma or other respiratory issues, it's important to bring your inhaler with you to urgent care.
  • EpiPen - If you have a severe allergy , it's important to bring your EpiPen with you to urgent care.
  • Blood glucose monitor - If you have diabetes, it's important to bring your blood glucose monitor with you to urgent care.

Other Necessary Medical Supplies

In addition to the above supplies, you may need to bring other necessary medical supplies, such as:

  • Prescription medications
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Medical devices (e.g. hearing aids, wheelchair)
  • Medical records and documentation

If you are concerned about the cost of your visit, it's important to ask about payment plans or financial assistance options. Some urgent care clinics offer payment plans that allow you to pay off your bill over time. Others may offer financial assistance programs for those who qualify. It's important to ask about these options before your visit to ensure that you are prepared.

After you leave urgent care, it's important to follow any instructions provided by your healthcare provider to ensure a smooth recovery. Your healthcare provider may give you specific instructions to follow after your visit. These might include things like:

  • Resting for a certain period of time
  • Avoiding certain activities or foods
  • Taking medication as prescribed
  • Monitoring your symptoms and reporting any changes
  • Coming back for a follow-up in a certain amount of time
  • Consulting a specialist

If your healthcare provider prescribes medication, make sure you understand how and when to take it. Ask any questions you have about potential side effects or interactions with other medications you may be taking. Following these instructions carefully can help you avoid complications and promote healing.

While urgent care clinics can provide many of the same services as emergency rooms, there are some key differences to keep in mind. The first and most prominent difference is that urgent care clinics are designed for non-life and limb-threatening illnesses and injuries, while emergency rooms are equipped to handle more serious medical emergencies.

Another benefit of urgent care clinics is that they typically offer shorter wait times than emergency rooms, according to Urgent Care Association. However, wait times can vary depending on the clinic and the time of day. Some clinics also offer online scheduling options to help you save time.

Many urgent care clinics now offer telemedicine services, which allow you to consult with a healthcare provider remotely. This can be a convenient option if you are unable to visit a clinic in person.

If you experience anxiety or stress related to seeking medical care, there are a few strategies you can try, according to the Mayo Clinic. These may include deep breathing exercises, mindfulness meditation, or seeking support from a trusted friend or family member.

How to Choose an Urgent Care Facility

When choosing an urgent care clinic that is right for you, consider the clinic’s location, hours of operation, services offered, and their reputation. Check online reviews to see what past patients have to say, and call them to find out if they accept your insurance.

7 things to do before, during and after your virtual visit

By Hope Winsborough

after your visit

Telemedicine appointments are here to stay. Here’s help making sure yours runs smoothly.

The practice of telemedicine has skyrocketed, growing by more than 1,000% in March 2020 and 4,000% in April 2020, according to a  JAMA Network Open  study. During those same months, people around the world took to the internet, and searches for “telemedicine” and “telehealth” topics went up a whopping 546%, the journal  Cureus reports.

The ability to receive high-quality health care without leaving home has been a game changer for older adults, says Mariana B. Dangiolo, M.D., a family physician and associate professor of family medicine and geriatrics at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.

“Most of my patients find these visits very similar to what they’re used to from in-person appointments,” says Dr. Dangiolo.

You can expect the same level of care from a telemedicine appointment as you would from an in-office visit, with plenty of pluses: no traffic troubles, no parking problems and no waiting-room delays. The minuses? Your home may not be as private or as quiet as the provider’s office is, and technical issues could consume valuable time with your provider.

Here are 7 essential tips to help ensure a smooth virtual appointment:

1. Prepare as you would for an in-office visit

Before your appointment, gather any background material you might need, including a  prioritized agenda  for the appointment. Prepare a list of any symptoms you want to review and questions you want to ask. Also jot down any prescriptions that need to be refilled. If you’ll need a caregiver or trusted friend or translator to be present, make those arrangements ahead of time.

2. Set up your “exam room”

Plan to have your televisit in a well-lit room with few distractions, Dr. Dangiolo advises. The provider should be able to easily see your full body to waist level. And don’t forget silence — so turn off the TV or radio. Make sure your reading glasses and hearing aids are available if you use them.

3. Do a technology check

Take time to check your equipment well in advance of your appointment, if possible. Be sure you know how to use the audio and camera features on your computer, smartphone, tablet or laptop — so you can zoom in on a rash or other issue, if you have to.

“It’s also good to check on headphone quality if you’re using those,” says Dr. Dangiolo. If you’re not comfortable working with your device, ask a tech-savvy family member, friend or neighbor to help out. Also, if you have a choice of devices, go with the one that has the biggest screen.

When you call to schedule or confirm your appointment, ask if you’ll need to sign into a patient portal to have your appointment, or if you need to download any special app or program, says Dr. Dangiolo.

“A lot of different platforms are being used,” she says. “Everything from popular commercial video conferencing platforms to special software, applications or portals that are specific to your provider. Be sure to contact the office beforehand for any tips they can provide.”

4. Know your symptoms

If the appointment is related to urgent symptoms — for example, you’re feeling feverish or experiencing signs of the flu — take your temperature a few minutes beforehand. And be prepared to tell the provider how long it’s been since you last ate or had a drink of water.

If you have devices at home like a blood pressure cuff or a pulse oximeter, go ahead and take those readings ahead of your appointment so you can share the results with the provider. If you don’t, no worries — owning these items isn’t necessary for a virtual visit, says Dr. Dangiolo.

5. Be on time

No matter how your virtual visit begins — whether you make the call, wait for a call, or use the provider’s dedicated portal setup — being on time is just as important as in an in-office setting.

6. Make note of post-visit tasks

If your provider orders tests, requests medical records, schedules an in-office visit, or refers you to another health care provider, be sure to record the details and contact information so you can follow up.

7. Enjoy the interaction

In many cases, a virtual visit can be more personal than an office exam, Dr. Dangiolo says. After all, you’re in your home where you feel comfortable. This new setting often lends itself to a much more relaxed appointment.

“We teach medical students that with televisits, doctors should try to use basic Zoom etiquette. They should try to communicate effectively and not speak over someone, get distracted, or use too many gestures,” says Dr. Dangiolo. “But we also teach students to not be surprised if things go off script.”

How Do You Write an Appreciation Message?

Writing a thank-you message is simpler than you might think. It doesn’t need to be several paragraphs long or use complex sentences. Your message just has to be concise and genuinely express your appreciation. Here are some quick and helpful things to remember when writing your message:

Keep It Concise

Nobody has the time to read a novel-length message. Keep your thank-you letter to one page. A short message that’s well written can leave more impact than several paragraphs that just drag on and on.

Use Formal Salutations

You want to make your letter professional. After all, it is an official thank-you letter from you to the company. To do that, you want to start your letter on the right note with a formal opening salutation. Some examples of this are:

Now that you’ve started your letter formally, you need to end it formally as well. Here are some of the closing salutations you can use before your Signature:

  • Best Regards
  • Respectfully

Be Specific With What You’re Thankful For

Are you thankful for your host’s time, for a conversation you had, or for their hospitality? Whatever it is, tell them specifically that you appreciate what they did for you. It’s a way of acknowledging their kind gesture.

Sincerity Is Key

As with any letter, sincerity is very important in an outgoing message. The tone and intent of the letter must be genuine and honest. Write in a personable tone, use an active voice, and get straight to the point.

What To Do After You Visit A College

College visits are a valuable part of the college list decision-making process. When you visit a college campus, you get a better idea of its culture, explore its resources and facilities, and sometimes even meet with coaches or faculty members. In addition, you might have an interview while you’re there. College visits allow you to learn more about a college and allow the college to learn more about you.

There can be a lot of build up to a college visit. You are likely feeling excited about touring a new campus and taking another step towards choosing your future college. You might also be feeling anxious about putting your best foot forward.

Preparing for a college visit isn’t the only way to guarantee a successful visit. You also need to know what to do after the visit to maximize your experience and use the connections you’ve established. In this post, we outline the three essentials you need to do after a college visit.

Take Notes and Review Them

As soon as possible after your visit, you should review any notes that you took during your visit and reorganize them in a useful way. Many students find pro/con lists are a great way of accomplishing this.

At the very least, keep a list of things of the things you loved about a school and take note of any things that you didn’t like. Even if you don’t end up putting this particular school on your short list, keeping track of what you liked and didn’t like about it will help you to identify these same qualities in other schools that you might consider.

You should also write down any question you have after visiting the school. While a college visit will certainly answer many questions, sometimes you realize afterwards that new questions arise based on things you saw or heard about on campus. Jot these new questions down while they’re still fresh in your head.

Finally, make sure that you have contact information for everyone you met with while on campus. If you forgot to collect an email address or other contact information, make sure that you at least have a complete list of names. You will probably be able to find contact information on the college website for anyone whose email you missed in person.

after your visit

Discover your chances at hundreds of schools

Our free chancing engine takes into account your history, background, test scores, and extracurricular activities to show you your real chances of admission—and how to improve them.

Discuss Your Visit With Parents or Mentors

Another important way to process your visit is to discuss it with others. You should share details from your visit with parents or other important mentors. Discuss what you liked and didn’t like about the school, and listen to the outside perspective that these people can lend.

For example, you might have been unimpressed with student housing and may even be tempted to remove the school from your college list because of it. A parent or mentor might be able to help you to identify off-campus housing options and to reassure you that in the bigger picture on-campus housing will be less important compared to the classes you take, the friends you meet, and the person you grow to be while in college.

Talking with your parents and other important mentors in your life will help you to gain more perspective about the bigger picture and might also lead to important networking opportunities. If you become really interested in a specific school, your parents or other mentors might be able to put you in touch with contacts who know current students or recent grads from the same school.

Write Thank You Notes and Stay In Touch

Finally, be sure to write a personalized thank you note to each person who helped you during your visit. This includes the person who ran the information session you attended, any professors whose classes you visited, and any other faculty or staff with whom you met. It is best to email these notes as it makes it easier for someone to respond to you in the moment.

This note should include a brief thank you and also one or two specific examples from your visit that show your enthusiasm and appreciation for the school. If you visited a class, you might note one or two things you learned in it that you found really interesting. If you went on a tour, you might note something humorous that happened on it, or a part of the campus that you really liked.

Writing this note serves two purposes. First, it is evidence of your personality, showing your respect for the process and your gratitude to others. Second, it helps to remind these people of you, keeping you fresh in their minds during admissions season. You never know when these people might be involved in screening applicants or have input into the admissions process. Keeping your name fresh in their minds can sometimes result in an admissions edge later on.

If you decide to apply to the college, follow up with another note closer to the application deadline. Reinforce your gratitude, note that you have decided to apply and hope to join the incoming class, and take the opportunity to ask any questions that have arisen since your visit. This again will reinforce your interest and keep your name fresh.

Visiting colleges is an important part of the college choice process. By visiting a college campus, you gain a better idea of its student culture, its campus life, and its facilities. The advantages of a college visit can be maximized even more if you take the time afterwards to organize your impressions of the school, to discuss them with the important people in your life, and to follow through with connections at the school who might be able to help you later on.

Thank You for the Visit

There’s nothing better than having friends or family come to visit, especially after being apart for so long. The thought of being able to spend quality time with them, showing them around the city or just lounging around the house makes my heart happy. But when they leave, I can’t help but feel a bit empty inside.

That’s why I always make a point to let them know how much I appreciate their visit and how much it means to me. So to all the friends and family who have come to visit me, this blog post is for you.

😃 It’s a nice thought that after your guests leave, you should send a thank you note letting them know how much you appreciate them visiting.  If you’re not sure what to write, feel free to use any of our thank you messages below.

😃 I am writing this thank you note because I was so appreciative that you took the time to come visit us last weekend.  You are the one person that I miss in my life since the move, let’s get together more often in the future, sound good?

😃 I cannot believe you drove for two hours to be in attendance at our holiday party,  I did not expect you to do that, but I’m so glad you did!  Thank you so much for sharing your precious time with us, we love and adore you both.  Next time we see each other, it will be at your place, promise.  May god bless you.

😃 I can’t imagine what the past few days would have been like if you weren’t here!  Thank you so much for coming to visit and take care of me after my surgery.  Thank you for feeding me, and helping me with other stuff, your effort was much appreciated.  I love you mom XO.

😃 I wanted to send you this thank you note to let you know how much I appreciated you visiting us last weekend.  Because of ________’s health, we just aren’t able to get out as much, so it’s harder and harder to see our friends.  We were so excited to spend some quality time with you.  Thank you again.

I love when you visit with heart all in green

Thanks for the Visit

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of having a friend or loved one visit you, especially if you live far apart. It’s a chance to reconnect, catch up on old times, and make new memories together. But when it’s time for your guest to leave, it can be hard to find the right words to express your gratitude for their visit.

That’s why we’ve put together this guide to help you say thank you for coming to visit me in a way that’s heartfelt and memorable.

😃 Thank you so much for visiting me in my new office. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed as it’s my first week here, so it meant a lot to see a friendly face.  Let’s get together for lunch this week, and chat some more.

😃 Thank you for visiting me the other day. It was a great surprise to see you suddenly appear on my doorstep. There really is no better medicine than good friends dropping by.  Did you get my note about lunch this week?

😃 Thank you for visiting us. Last week was tough, but we felt much better when we saw your face. Even though we didn’t have much time to talk, it felt nice just sitting there, laughing over silly things. We just wanted to say thank you for always showing up when we need you.

Eligibility is determined on an individual basis, taking into account factors such as household size, income, assets, and insurance status.

If you appear to be eligible for public assistance, staff can assist you in completing the public assistance application process before you can be considered.

What services qualify?

Financial support applies to all medically necessary patient services that are provided at our hospital including inpatient, outpatient and emergency services.

What services don't qualify?

  • Services that are not medically necessary, including cosmetic surgery
  • Services to patients who qualify for county, state, federal or other assistance programs
  • Services that a patient chooses to receive outside of their insurance network
  • Services rendered by physicians and other healthcare providers

How will I know if I qualify?

In order to determine your eligibility, you will be asked to complete a Financial Assistance Application and provide certain supporting information to verify your household income and net assets. You will receive written or telephone contact from a SAHS representative notifying you of decisions resulting from your application.

You will be expected to cooperate in providing the requested financial and other information used to determine your eligibility in a timely manner. If you qualify, you will be expected to pay the remaining balance for the services you received. Our financial counselors can assist you in establishing a low-interest loan.

Frequently asked questions

The Folger is utilizing timed-entry passes to ensure the best possible experience in our new exhibition halls. While walk-in visitors are always welcome, only timed-entry pass holders are guaranteed entry into the exhibition halls at the time of their choosing.

Timed-entry pass holders are also offered expedited entry into the building on days when the Folger is experiencing a high volume of visitors. Timed-entry pass holders always skip the line!

A $15 donation per person is recommended when visiting the Folger. Donations can be made during the reservation process for timed-entry passes or at the welcome desks in the Folger’s east and west entrance lobbies

Donations support the work the Folger does across the organization, from displaying First Folios and rare books in our exhibition halls to creating family activities and hands-on workshops to conserving all the objects in our collection. Your donation enables us to create special experiences for all our audiences and make the Folger accessible for future visitors.

Timed-entry passes are not required to visit Quill & Crumb or the Folger Shop. They are also not required for researchers working in the Reading Room.

Theater patrons and program participants may access the exhibition galleries before and after the program they are attending. Your program ticket serves as access to the exhibition halls in lieu of a timed-entry pass.

Timed-entry passes may be booked up to three months in advance. At the end of each month, passes for three months out are added to our website and at the welcome desks.

We encourage Folger Members to reserve timed-entry passes, but members are always welcome in our galleries—even when we are experiencing crowds! Members skip to the beginning of the line. Save time and make the most of all your visits to the Folger with a membership.

King Charles III Gives Health Update During Visit to Cancer Treatment Facility: ‘Not Too Bad’

King Charles III Gives Health Update During Visit to Cancer Treatment Facility

King Charles III offered a brief health update during his return to public duties after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Charles, 75, and Queen Camilla visited a cancer treatment center on Tuesday, April 30, and interacted with various patients. Discussing his own diagnosis, the king said the news was a “bit of a shock” at first, according to multiple U.K. outlets .

When one patient asked how he’s been doing, Charles replied, “Not too bad,” revealing that he was set to undergo “treatment this afternoon as well.”

News broke in February that Charles was being treated for an unspecified type of cancer that was discovered after a planned prostate treatment. He has since been named Cancer Research UK’s newest patron.

Details of his diagnosis have been kept under wraps over the past few months while the monarch has stayed mostly out of the public eye, with other royal family members standing in for Charles at official engagements. Buckingham Palace confirmed on Friday, April 26, that the king would be making his first appearance since his diagnosis.

“His Majesty The King will shortly return to public-facing duties after a period of treatment and recuperation following his recent cancer diagnosis,” the statement read. “To help mark this milestone, The King and Queen will make a joint visit to a cancer treatment center next Tuesday, where they will meet medical specialists and patients.”

The palace went on to say that Charles’ medical team is “encouraged by the progress” he has made thus far and “remain positive” about the treatments.

“Forthcoming engagements will be adapted where necessary to minimize any risks to His Majesty’s continued recovery,” the statement concluded. “The pacing of the King’s program will be carefully calibrated as his recovery continues, in close consultation with his medical team.”

The new portrait was also released to mark the one-year anniversary of Charles’ coronation , which will be celebrated on Monday, May 6.

“As the first anniversary of the coronation approaches, Their Majesties remain deeply grateful for the many kindnesses and good wishes they have received from around the world throughout the joys and challenges of the past year,” the palace wrote alongside the new image.

Charles assumed the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Eliazbeth II , in September 2022.

Titans bring in another free agent WR after Tyler Boyd visited last week

The Tennessee Titans continue to search for wide receiver depth amid veteran free agents. Spending their-first round pick on their offensive line made sense, but the need for another impact wideout only grew after that choice.

They visited with Tyler Boyd last week. Now, another potential addition has been added to the cards.

Former Jacksonville Jaguars WR Zay Jones will visit with the Titans on Monday.

Free agent WR Zay Jones, who was released after the NFL Draft by the #Jaguars , is visiting the #Titans today, source said. Jones has an obvious connection to Tennessee OC Nick Holz, as the two were both in Jacksonville last year. — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 6, 2024

Jones, like Boyd, has seen a bulk of his pro success come in the slot. The inside is clearly where the Titans feel they need to improve the most. Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins projects as their top two options outside.

Past those two on the WR depth chart, the experience is cloudy. Treylon Burks has a ton to prove, and that may not even come in Tennessee once they add another option. Kyle Philips and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are the following options, and neither would prevent you from a veteran upgrade.

Jones was a productive player and leading voice for the Jags offense in recent years. Not to mention, he played with Ridley last season as well.

Good luck, Zay Jones. pic.twitter.com/vgpYVrIsfk — Throwback Jaguars Fan (@jhorge_d) April 30, 2024

Jones has been in the NFL since 2017. He totaled 321 yards and two touchdowns on 34 receptions last season for Jacksonville.

2022 was the most productive year of his career. Jones caught 82 passes for 823 yards and 5 TDs.

He's spent time with the Jaguars, Buffalo Bills , and Las Vegas Raiders.

We will see if the Titans sign either Boyd or Jones. They clearly want to add another proven target for Will Levis .

Prince Harry confirms King Charles ‘unfortunately’ too busy to see him during UK visit

Better luck next time.

Prince Harry confirmed a report that King Charles III is too busy to meet with him during his visit back home this week.

“In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program,” a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex shared Tuesday in a statement to Page Six.

“The duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

Harry, 39, touched down in London Tuesday afternoon ahead of the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8. His wife, Meghan Markle, decided to remain in California instead of attending the celebratory milestone event.

Multiple sources told Page Six that the renegade royal had extended invitations to the event to his family as an olive branch, but no one took the bait.

No senior members of the royal family are expected to attend, as Kate Middleton is still undergoing treatment for cancer , and Harry remains largely estranged from her husband and his brother, Prince William.

The Prince of Wales, 41, and Harry have not spoken for more than a year in the wake of Harry’s bombshell memoir, “Spare,” in addition to claims that Charles, 75, and Middleton, 42, were  the “racist” royals  who asked what color Harry and Markle’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet , would be.

The redheaded royal, who quit his duties in 2020 and moved to the US, has not been to London since a brief trip in February to visit his father upon learning that the reigning monarch also had been diagnosed with cancer .

Page Six previously reported that Harry met up with Charles at Clarence House for “a quick visit”  that didn’t even last an hour .

Charles announced in April that he was resuming his public duties “after a period of treatment and recuperation following his recent cancer diagnosis.” Buckingham Palace shared a new photo of the king at the time that showed him looking well as he linked arms with his wife, Queen Camilla.

Charles ascended the throne in September 2022 upon his mother  Queen Elizabeth II’s death  and  was coronated  in May of the following year.
