Atif Aslam is a Pakistani pop and rock singer-songwriter, musician, dancer and film actor, strongly inspired by the likes of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Abida Parveen, Aslam hails from Wazirabad, Punjab, Pakistan.

Prior to pursuing his dream of being a musician, Aslam was a proficient cricketer and had been selected for the Pakistani under 19 cricket team trials. Having spent his college days singing in public at the insistence of his friends, Aslam later recorded the single “Aadat” using pocket money he’d saved up. Surprising all involved the single went viral as soon as it was uploaded and by the end of the month Atif Aslam was a household name across Pakistan. With the success of the single the singer returned to the studio and recorded his debut full-length album “Jal Pari”. Released in July 2004 the album became another hit, spawning the singles “Bheegi Yaadein”, “Ehsaas”, “Mahi Ve”, and “Ankhon Sey”.

By this point Aslam’s popularity had begun to spread out past the Pakistani boundaries to neighbouring countries including India and Nepal, aided by his sophomore album “Doorie”. The 2006 record topped the charts in both India and Pakistan led by the hit singles “Doorie”, “Ehsaas”, and “Hum Ki Gali”. The undoubtedly rock influenced album “Meri Kahani” followed in January 2007 silencing critics who claimed Aslam’s music was too commercially-orientated.

Despite this success Aslam was reluctant to rest on his laurels and instead turned his hand to soundtrack work. Beginning in 2005, Aslam contributed the songs “Aadat”, “Ehsaas”, and “Yakeen” to the Hollywood film “Man Push Cart”, and the songs “Bol Ke Lab Azaad Hain” and "Mori Araj Suno" to the film "The Reluctant Fundamentalist". Subsequently, the singer-songwriter crafted a huge collection of songs used in the Bollywood films “Zeher” and “Kalyug” in 2005, “Bas Ek Pal” in 2006, “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazal Kahani” in 2009, “Prince” in 2010, “Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya” in 2013, and “Badlapur” in 2015, among many others. As a result of these film credits and album releases Aslam’s popularity abroad, in the U.S. and the UK, grew substantially, and Aslam embarked on a North American tour in 2007. Following shows in New Jersey, New York, San Francisco, London, and Birmingham UK, Aslam performed in Dubai alongside Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Il Divo, Gotye, and Swedish House Mafia in 2012.

The atmosphere is electric! “Juro Gey to Jano Gey” is the song that gets every body up on their feet dancing, and they stay this way until the end of the set. Fantastically received, is Aslam.

This is actually not a review but a bit of a disappointment. Why is Atif Aslam only performing in Durban and Johannesburg? Don't you know that we down here in Cape Town is also crazy about his music. This is very sad. Every single time I'm searching the net about upcoming shows of Atif Aslam, AR Raman, Amaal Malik, etc. but nothing. Or maybe they are coming but they only stop in Durban and Johannesburg. Not cool.

It was very disorganised. Started too late.flop concert. Supposed to be started 18:30. Bad sound. Bad lighting bad other singer didn't come to perform.bad bad bad bad bad bad. Very flop disorganised. Disappointed bad bad bad bad bad.

Atif Aslam is versatile and multi talented artist whether it's singing a song or plying instruments. he sung non stop with full energy through out the concert and we really enjoyed it. I wish him prosperous long life.

Atif Aslam Set for Europe and U.K. Tour Marking 20 Years in Music

About two decades after he began professionally in the Pakistani and Bollywood music industries, Atif Aslam is celebrating the journey so far with a short run of shows in the U.K. and Europe, between June 2nd and June 11th.

Kicking off in Zoetermeer in the Netherlands on June 2nd, the artist will go on to perform arena shows in Leeds (June 3rd), Birmingham (June 4th), Glasgow (June 8th) and London’s OVO Arena, Wembley on June 11th.

Best known for singing “Woh Lamhe,” (from Zeher in 2005) “Tu Jaane Na” and “Tera Hone Laga Hoon” (both from 2009’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani ), plus “Jeena Jeena” from Badlapur in 2014, Aslam has been a little less focused on Bollywood in recent years and a lot more geared towards building on the reputation as a desi globally-known artist. From Coke Studio Pakistan stints to singing songs for Hollywood productions like The Reluctant Fundamentalist , the artist’s latest international tour comes on the back of singles like “Moonrise” and “Go” with producer-singer Abdullah Siddiqui.

The artist said in a statement about the upcoming tour dates, “I am super thrilled to be performing for my fans because performing live gives an artist an opportunity to connect with the energies of the audience. This tour is also extra special as I complete 20 years of my singing journey and what better way to celebrate it, with people who have given me so much love and admiration for all these years. 2023 has been extremely special so far as my wife Sara and I also welcomed our baby girl.”

The tour is presented and promoted by California’s event management company Dembi Productions LLC and U.K.-headquartered live event company The Musik World.

The resplendent sounds of music and the vibrant hues of art converged at the Bashundhara Cricket Ground in Dhaka on Thursday and Friday for the Let's Vibe Art & Music Festival, a two-day extravaganza that left attendees in awe.

Spread across a new venue, this festival transcended expectations, offering two days packed with music, dance, art exhibitions, and a reimagining of Dhaka's cultural landscape.

Attendees were treated to a plethora of attractions, including two distinct stages – a grand stage and an art stage – that hosted a stellar lineup of artists.

Musical Highlights

Day one witnessed the electrifying performance of Indian sensation King, whose meteoric rise in the music industry has captivated audiences worldwide.

Bangladeshi favorites Shunno graced the stage after a hiatus of 1.5 years, delighting fans with their soulful tunes.

Where Aftermath open the stage for Day 1. Concurrently, on the art stage, "Dad's in the Park" mesmerized the audience with their captivating performance.

Day two was beyond what people expected, headlined by the legendary Atif Aslam, who returned to Bangladesh after 12 years.

Atif's performance was a testament to his showmanship and professionalism, treating the crowd to a three-hour spectacle of his greatest hits.

The day also featured dynamic performances from local talents such as Kaaktal and Ahmed Hasan Sunny, culminating in a collaborative performance by Karnival and Firoz Jong.

Beyond Music

The festival was not merely about music but also about immersive experiences and artistic expressions.

Attendees explored art exhibitions featuring works by Rashid Khan and other acclaimed artists, engaged with interactive installations, and indulged in trendy lifestyle experiences.

What many attendees may not realize is that the festival was a triumphant comeback from adversity.

A storm wreaked havoc on the setup just hours before the festivities were set to begin on Wednesday, threatening to derail the entire event.

However, the swift action and expertise of Blues Communications and their dedicated team, the stage was rebuilt overnight, ensuring that the show went on as planned.

Despite the challenges posed by the storm, the festival saw a commendable turnout, with approximately 4,000 attendees on day one and 8,000 on day two.

The "Let's Vibe Art & Music Festival" was more than just a gathering of music enthusiasts, it was a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the unifying power of art and music.

As the echoes of the performances fade away, the memories of this unforgettable event will linger on, inspiring future generations of artists and audiences alike.

The singer's graceful response was captured by a fan and is now going viral on social media. In the video, the female fan was seen embracing Atif and breaking down in tears. She refused to let go of him even as Atif tried to hold her, but ultimately he smiled and gave her a quick hug. He then shook her hand was seen interacting with her in the middle of the concert. She kissed his hand, and Atif smiled and bowed at her. A few moments later, the emotional fan was escorted down with the audience.

Earlier, in a concert in the US, Atif Aslam had reacted after a fan threw some currency bills at him. In a video that was captured by an audience member, he was seen indicating the musicians to stop and then told the fan, “My friend, you can come back and donate this money.” Atif also asked the fan to join him on the stage. “Come, please come. I know you are very rich and I appreciate that. Please donate the money. I like the idea, but this is just disrespect to the money. Don't throw it at me,” he said.

Atif has sung several songs in Bollywood, including Tera Hone Laga Hoon, Tere Sang Yaara, Main Rang Sharbaton Ka, and Dil Diyan Galla among many others.
