BOYNEXTDOOR's 'How?' Makes Top 10 Debut on Album Sales Chart

See latest videos, charts and news

The announcement photo may look familiar to fans, as she donned the same glittery attire on the cover of her seventh studio album. Bey also added “Renaissance World Tour” on her Instagram bio, further accenting the news. Last week, Beyonce performed a full concert for the first time in four years at a luxury resort in Dubai in front of influencers and journalists. The 19-song set included a collaboration with her oldest daughter Blue Ivy as the two performed “Brown Skin Girl,” which earned them a Grammy two years ago for best music video.

Crowned a triumphant win by music lovers, Renaissance stormed to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last year and rattled off two Hot 100 top 10 hits, including her chart-topper “Break My Soul.” The dance-centric album also notched nine Grammy nominations, the most for any nominee for this year’s ceremony. Bey is looking to rack up more trophy wins, as she currently sits at a staggering 28 wins. Nominated for album of the year, song, and record of the year, Bey is facing some stout competition , especially in the former. The R&B juggernaut will tango against Adele, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar, Bad Bunny, and more for album of the year. A win in this category would serve as Beyonce’s first. The 65th Grammy Awards will occur Sunday night in Los Angeles at 8 pm EST.

Popular on Variety

The Renaissance Tour began in earnest with “Dangerously In Love 2,” the perfect in-person introduction to everything that makes Beyoncé the “Queen Bey.” Statuesque in a black and gold dress, her sheer presence was commanding, but the song showcased her power, precision and control as a singer all at once. “Flaws and All,” which followed, set the stage — literally and figuratively — for the musical accompaniment that supported her for the next two and a half hours, as Diamond Johnson produced a cavernous drum sound that later nimbly transitioned into funk, hip-hop, house and techno, but here set a backing beat that her brass players exploited for an echo of Earth, Wind and Fire’s “Can’t Hide Love.”

Broken into sections (“Renaissance,” “Motherboard,” “Opulence,” “Anointed,” etc.), Beyoncé’s latest album proved to be a perfect spine on which to graft highlights from the rest of her career, while the ingenious pacing of audiovisual interludes — offering her time for rest and costume changes and bathroom breaks for ticket buyers — also conveyed the tone and energy of the music selected for each mini-set. Starting with the over-arching premise of “Virgo season in a house of chrome,” she got refashioned on the massive digital backdrop into a rocket-piloting metallic vixen out of the pin-up artwork of Hajime Sorayama, leading the audience into the Kubrickian imagery of a pair of spread legs which she, her band and her backing dancers emerged from as if they were being birthed for the express purpose of entertaining.

Entertain they did, through three cuts from “Renaissance,” a diversion through her “Watch The Throne” cameo “Lift Off,” and a few seconds of “7/11,” the latter of which introduced Laurent and Larry Bourgeois, sibling dancers better known as “Les Twins.” Yet what quickly emerged as highlights were the smaller choices and more idiosyncratic moments, such as during “Cozy” when Beyoncé, standing between mirror frames attached to pneumatic arms, shifted and danced in perfect choreography with them; and in the introduction to “Motherboard,” where the music shuffled through Chuck Roberts’ iconic “let there be house!” monologue before mixing in Cajmere’s “Percolator.”

“Energy” marked the moment when Beyoncé crossed the threshold into “Club Renaissance,” the runway that leads to a central performance area, ahead of “Break My Soul,” which for my money was the number of the night. Building out the “Renaissance” single with melodies from Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Something,” and somewhat inevitably the “Queens Remix” of the song that interpolates Madonna’s “Vogue,” Beyoncé leaned into its roll call of black women for an explosive showstopper of a sequence — which notably included Lizzo after she was temporarily removed at earlier shows. Given that Khaled had earlier instructed the crowd to put their hands up to signify that they still love Jackson, the fact that they almost unanimously did, and no one balked at the appearance of Lizzo’s name, suggested that the lure of great music outweighed political concerns — or at least drowned out dissenting voices in the crowd — on Friday evening.

Opening “Anointed” with a costume change featuring a dress whose panels changed colors like the stained-glass windows of a church, Beyoncé seemed to really enjoy performing “Church Girl” — which she paused to encourage fans “to go crazy.” But she made a slightly rushed transition from “Get Me Bodied” in order to get to her ebullient cover of the Maze and Frankie Beverly black-barbeque classic “Before I Let Go,” a bonus track from her “Homecoming” concert album.

“Love On Top,” one of the sturdiest and most underrated of her songs (especially now that she’s in her “every song’s an anthem” era), followed soon after, augmented by the bassline of Jackson Five’s “ABC;” unfortunately, she let the audience take over singing the song for at least one or two refrains too many while she tapped her microphone. But the overindulgence was immediately forgotten after she started performing her first hit single “Crazy In Love,” complemented by backup dancers — male and female — costumed in matching facsimiles of the denim cutoffs and white tank she wore in its music video.

After briefly throwing some attention to the band, she reappeared as Venus on the half-shell for “Plastic Off the Sofa,” whose slinky, latter-day Stevie Wonder “Too High” bassline set the stage for some of the sexiest moments of the night. Performing “Virgo’s Groove” wearing the bodysuit that’s become a tour staple featuring phantom limbs covering her naughty bits, her movements felt deeply provocative even when no one was around; in fact, she drew so much attention from everyone else on stage during “Naughty Girl” that you’d be forgiven if you hadn’t noticed that Les Twins were feverishly dancing around Club Renaissance the entire time. Instructing anyone in the crowd holding a hand fan to use it during “Heated” while she delivered its defiant, desperately relatable outro rap (“Drinkin’ my water, mindin’ my biz/ Monday, I’m overrated, Tuesday, on my dick”), Beyoncé offered the crowd a moment of catharsis wrapped in pyrotechnics, as fireballs belched from the edges of the stage.

“Part 2” of the “Anointed” section concluded with “Thique,” during which careful listeners heard a too-brief sample of Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” and then the one-two punch of “All Up in Your Mind” and “Drunk in Love.” On the latter number, small disco balls provided oscillating reflections as Beyonce navigated the stage while acrobats — dressed like disco balls themselves — pole danced at the center of Club Renaissance. The layout hinted at what was later to come on “America Has a Problem,” when Les Twins sprinted to mid-stage to shimmy up a different version of those perches, that time swinging and bending as if they were trained by the pole cats in “Mad Max Fury Road.”

Encouraging the crowd to take pictures as she sat astride a giant, mirrored steed, Beyoncé concluded the night with “Summer Renaissance,” not just the phenomenal closing track from her latest album but a reminder that she’s working at the peak of her creativity — not to mention the fact that she promised when it was released to deliver another installment. If after 26 years she has become an actually worthy version of the Poochie (a la “The Simpsons”) of the music world, prompting everyone to ask “where’s Beyoncé?” whenever she’s not standing center stage, she cemented the metaphor by ending the show suspended from wires, flying back to her home planet as the crowd — appropriately — showered her with adulation for deigning to grant them an audience.

Just days from turning 42, Beyoncé has long since demonstrated the sophistication, complexity and absolute mastery of her many talents. Though snippets of the Renaissance Tour, dispersed in clips and media commentary since its beginning in May 2023, issued reminders of her undeniable stardom, somehow none of that prepares you for the actual in-person experience.

Tickets for these dates of Beyoncé's tour are now on sale: What fans need to know

beyonce la tour tickets

Tickets to the first of three groupings of  Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour dates went on sale Monday and, not surprisingly, are doing brisk business for the Grammy legend.

In fact, her first show – May 10 in Stockholm, Sweden – sold out Tuesday, prompting the singer to add an additional Stockholm show on May 11.

Back in the U.S., staggering on-sale dates have prevented ticket sale meltdowns  (so far anyway) as experienced when Taylor Swift put her tour tickets up for grabs last year .

Queen Bey, who Sunday night became the  all-time Grammy champion , announced her tour last week and immediately saw fan demand exceed the number of tickets by 800%.

Group A tickets are now on sale. If you're in Groups B and C, there's still some time to get a seat to what promises to be one of the hottest tours in years.

Here's our detailed look on how to get tickets . For the latest timing details, visit Ticketmaster and find the event info for your desired date and city.

Here's what else fans should know:

How much are Beyoncé tickets?

USA TODAY found face-value ticket prices that ranged from $62 and up. Club Renaissance tickets were closer to $1,000, and some floor seats were $300 and bowl seats were around $500. Ticket prices will vary according to city and venue.

Many artists have begun to give concert promoters the OK to make a portion of each show's best seats subject to Dynamic Pricing , which is an attempt to match demand with the supply of premium seats.

The end result can sometimes be prices that far exceed original face value, as some fans of Bruce Springsteen found when dynamically priced seats for his tour cost upwards of $4,000. Only about 12% of Springsteen tickets were sold this way, his management reported.

When are Group B and C ticket sales?

Beyoncé's 'Renaissance Tour' is bringing out Hollywood's hottest stars. Here’s who was at the LA concerts

Beyoncé brought her "Renaissance World Tour" to Los Angeles for three nights and plenty of celebrities flocked to SoFi Stadium to see the superstar live.

The “Crazy In Love” singer had concert-goers donning head-to-toe chrome ensembles per the performer’s request on her official website , which asked fans to wear their “most fabulous silver fashions” from Aug. 23 through Sept. 22 as her birthday wish and to mark Virgo season.

Among the array of celebrities in attendance was Pedro Pascal, who was spotted having a great time in Club Renaissance and caught on camera clapping along to the music by Sarah Paulson in an Instagram video.

For night two, Issa Rae, who was also in the audience the night before, returned with her crew and uploaded videos of her belting along to Beyoncé's biggest hits from the Club Renaissance section.

Night three on Sept. 4 brought out Diana Ross, who sang happy birthday to Beyoncé, and Tabitha Brown, who danced the night away in videos uploaded online.

The former lead singer for “The Supremes" lead the crowd of 60,000 in singing “Happy Birthday” to Beyoncé, a video posted to X shows.

“Thank you so much,” the “Renaissance” singer beamed. “You are amazing. This is the legendary Diana Ross.”

The crowd roared.

Quick Answer: Fans can buy Imagine Dragons tickets on sites like Ticketmaster , Live Nation , StubHub , Vivid Seats , and SeatGeek .

After dropping their upcoming studio album, Loom , in June, Imagine Dragons will travel the globe to play their new tunes on the road this summer. Tickets are now on sale for the headlining arena trek, which kicks off this July in Camden, New Jersey.

The North American leg of the Loom Tour features stops all over, including Dallas, Texas, Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado, before the group plays their last date at the iconic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.

“The world looks much different after being a band for more than a decade,” frontman Dan Reynolds shared in a statement when the group dropped Loom ‘s rap-rock single, “Eyes Closed.” “But some things will always remain the same. It’s finding that right balance of nostalgia and freshness that brings me the most joy in the studio. We had a lot of fun making this one and hope you enjoy it too.”

Eilish is said to explore different sounds and more mature themes on her upcoming album, a 10-track production that has been described as “her most daring body of work to date,” and again pairs her with her brother Finneas. In a Rolling Stone interview last week, the duo teased that the opening track of the new album mirrors their “Barbie” smash hit “What Was I Made For?” In fact, it was written before the somber Oscar- and Grammy-winning tune.

The “Ocean Eyes” and “Bad Guy” singer said she also recognizes that she’s been working nonstop since she broke through as a teen.

“I had this moment of like, ‘Oh, my God, I haven’t had fun in seven years.’ Truly. I had this illusion that I had, because who experiences going to the Grammys at basically 17 and winning five ?” she told the magazine. “But in life, I realized I had really not experienced that much. I didn’t go outside for five years. How was I supposed to have any experiences?”

The 22-year-old hitmaker’s latest tour will continue her long-standing partnership with the environmental nonprofit REVERB , which has yielded $1 million in donations to environmental, greenhouse-gas reduction and climate justice projects and more than 150,000 fan actions, Live Nation said. Sustainability efforts for the upcoming tour will include reducing greenhouse-gas pollution, decreasing single-use plastic waste, supporting climate action and updating concession offerings to promote and encourage plant-based food options with Support+Feed .
