Our wines are stored in a controlled-access warehouse open to a limited number of Duplin Winery associates. They restock our retail rooms and carefully pack orders shipped to customers and distributors.

Take a step off the beaten path and discover a hidden gem in Rose Hill, North Carolina filled with rustic charm and southern hospitality. Delight your taste buds with a wine tasting full of our award-winning Muscadine wines and learn about our family history on a winery tour. Our wine tastings let you sample at least ten preselected Duplin wines while one of our associates will walk you through the flavors and history of each wine. Our $10.00 deluxe wine tasting also includes a gourmet cheese dip, homemade gourmet crackers, and a glass of wine after the tasting has been completed.

Other than spending time with our family, this was our trip highlight. Best $15 Fun to be had. The guide was knowledgeable, entertaining, and helpful. We all left with more wine than we thought! Only bad thing was I wish the wine glass had been included. I have several from different places but this was my favorite. I knew I liked Duplin and sweet wines, before attending. I did change my favorite from Scoppernog blush to Naughty and Nice.

Description About Duplin Winery

Duplin Winery in North Myrtle Beach is  a fun and laid-back place to sample some user-friendly wines from North Carolina’s oldest and largest producer of grape-based drinks.

With an award-winning wine-making history dating back to 1975, Duplin saw a gap in the wine market on the Grand Strand and decided to open a 15,000 square foot facility adjacent to Barefoot Landing that serves as a tasting room, retail space, and tour-able bottling area.

As for wines, Duplin’s line is close to 40 Muscadines strong, with clever names like Midnight Magnolia, Queen Anne’s Revenge, Sweet Sox White, Bald Head Red, and Positively Pink. Guests can stop in for a tour of the facilities, enjoy a few samples, pick up a couple of bottles for later, and have a great time while doing so.

Went by here many times, stopped a couple years ago and learned quickly why people come. My wife and I joined, and this is without a doubt, starting with Jonathan and his employees, to the regulars, the most welcoming place I have ever been, when you walk in, you just feel at home. The entertainment is so good and friendly, at 76 I have made more friend in the last two years here, and they are real friends. This is the place every vacationer needs to visit and make a memory to take home

Fun summer visit

We visited Duplin Winery and found it to be a fun place with great wines that we enjoy. Staff was informative, friendly and welcoming. There was a rainstorm while we were there and found hanging out on the porch to be a nice way to spend an hour or so.

Recommend offering food

Came by Saturday following Thanksgiving last year at 10:45 am and 2:30pm but was way too crowded to get in. Will try again this year as we vacation at Myrtle Beach during Thanksgiving. Was hoping you would consider offering lite foods (bistro) that would further enhance our experience while there. Our families enjoy the Dublin Wines, especially the 'holiday' offerings. About Duplin Winery

Duplin Winery got its start in the 1970s when two brothers, Dan and David Fussell, Sr., began making wine. Their dreams turned into Duplin Winery located in Rose Hill, North Carolina. A second location was born in North Myrtle Beach in 2015 after the second generation of brothers, Dave Fussell, Jr., and Jonathan Fussell, took over the family business.

Types of Duplin Wines

Peppermint Cotton Candy, Sweet Lily, and Coastal Shag may not sound like your typical wines, which is what makes Duplin Winery stand out from the rest.

Muscadine grapes are native to the southeast and range in color from green to black. Some grapes are as big as a golf ball. Muscadine wine is diverse and comes in red, white, and rosé.

At Duplin Winery, you can enjoy a vast selection of wines, from seasonal flavors like Christmas Wine to year-round favorites, including Hatteras Red. 

Wine Tastings & Tours

Pair a lovely afternoon on the patio or around the bar with a wine tasting at Duplin Winery. The tasting includes 10 preselected wines, gourmet cheese dips and crackers, and a full glass of your favorite wine once you’ve finished sampling. There are even alcohol-free beverages available so everyone in your party can enjoy the experience. 

You can also add a tour to your wine-tasting experience. The 30-45 minute virtual tour includes a sneak peek of the Rose Hill wine-making facility. Towards the end, you'll get to bottle a keepsake wine in the hand-bottling room to take home and remember your trip. 

No reservation is necessary for the tasting or tour. Wine tastings are available between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays. After your tasting, head to the shop to buy a few souvenir bottles or unique gifts. The winery is closed on Sundays.

Events & Music

There’s always something going on at the North Myrtle Beach winery. Enjoy annual events like Christmas Girls’ Night Out, open to Heritage Club members.

There are also weekly music performances in the afternoons and evenings. Check out the music lineup on Duplin’s website.

Join the Duplin Winery Club

A day of wine tasting and nibbling is fun, but you can keep the party going all year long. By joining the Heritage Club, you’ll have wines shipped to you four times throughout the year. Members enjoy discounts on cases and food and complimentary tastings when you return to the winery.

3-Day Coastal Winery & Vineyard Getaway

Spend three days touring some amazing vineyards, tasting delicious wines, and exploring quaint towns and charming destinations.

Along the picturesque North Carolina coast , vineyards are growing various red and white grapes – including the famed scuppernong muscadine grape – and wineries are making award-winning wines to taste and take home. Several of the destinations also have gift shops, wine accessories, cafés and overnight accommodations to make for a vibrant three-day trip.

Day 1: Outer Banks & Oriental

Begin your coastal wine exploration on the Outer Banks with a stop at Sanctuary Vineyards in Jarvisburg. Located on a seaside farm, its 10 acres of syrah, tempranillo, viognier, norton and muscadine grapes are nestled within hundreds of acres of farmland and wildlife. Check its Instagram to see if a food truck is on-site, and get there in time for lunch and enjoy a tasting.

Drive along the Outer Banks and then head west through the charming town of Manteo as you venture to Vineyards on the Scuppernong . The Scuppernong River region produces the native scuppernong muscadine grape, which is considered to be one of the healthiest grapes grown and makes for a delicious fruity wine. Stop by its quaint tasting room, then stroll through galleries and eateries afterward.

Next, head into Oriental, known as the “Sailing Capital of North Carolina,” and check in at the Oriental Marina & Inn . Situated on the town harbor, the inn features one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, all with water views. Walk next door to Toucan Grill & Fresh Bar and feast on a seafood dinner while watching the boats come and go. Afterward, enjoy live music on the patio or stroll along the harbor.

Day 2: Central Coast

After breakfast and coffee at The Bean on the harbor, spend the morning exploring the riverfront town of New Bern . Visit Tryon Palace and the North Carolina History Center , wander through the spectacular gardens, historic homes and quaint shops of downtown, or stop by the Birthplace of Pepsi  before continuing your tour of the coastal wineries.

Next, head to Swansboro , the “Friendly City by the Sea,” for lunch at Yana’s Restaurant , with its 1950s diner interior and tasty burgers.

Heading northwest, stop by Huffman Vineyards for a taste of dry whites and reds, as well as its large selection of fruit wines. Try these in the tasting room or on the outdoor patio and chat with the winemakers.

For your next stop, it’s only a short drive to the Country Squire Restaurant, Inn and Winery  in Warsaw. Check in to your room overlooking the vineyard and settle in for a relaxing evening of wine and food. Take in the gardens, grounds and charming gazebo as you head to the Tartan Wine Tasting Room & Gift Shop. Taste the various wines or have a pre-dinner glass while you explore the gift items there. Then enjoy a sumptuous dinner in the dining room of a steak cooked to perfection, or poultry, pork or seafood entrées.

Day 3: Wilmington & Ocean Isle Beach

Get an early start this morning and drive to Rose Hill to see the world’s largest frying pan . Sheltered under a gazebo, the pan is 15 feet in diameter, weighs two tons and can cook 365 chickens at a time.

Next, head to Duplin Winery , the North Carolina coast’s oldest winery. Dating back to the 1970s, Duplin Winery has a tank capacity of more than 1.8 million gallons and is one of the largest wineries on the East Coast. Its award-winning wines include Magnolia, a favorite summertime wine, and Hatteras Red, which pairs perfectly with North Carolina barbecue. Take a tour, taste the many sweet and dry wines, and purchase a bottle to take home.

From there, head into Wilmington and Noni Bacca Winery . Choose from about 50 different international wines, including Italian-style reds, premium whites, thirst-quenching fruit wines and decadent dessert wines.

If all of the tastings have created an appetite, you’ll love The George on the Riverwalk in downtown Wilmington. Featuring Southern coastal cuisine, it serves lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch.

From there, follow along the coast to Ocean Isle Beach and Silver Coast Winery . Situated by lush woods and only 15 minutes from the beach, Silver Coast Winery offers tours of its production facility, wine tastings of traditional European-styled wines, a gift shop and an eclectic art gallery featuring local artisans. If you want to spend more time in Ocean Isle Beach, make plans to visit  Jinks Creek Waterfront Grille , where the outdoor dining options feature a spacious patio, tiki bar and gazebo, all with amazing views.

For the last stop on the trail, Tabor City and Grapefull Sisters Vineyard awaits. Tour the vineyards, taste some of the muscadine wines, sit on the serene deck, bask in the charm and toast to your wonderful wine weekend.

This place is very cool. I came here on a wine tasting with some friends over spring break. We were excited at how cheap it is ($15) and hoped we would get some bang for our buck. We got that and more. The inside is large, clean, and feels almost akin to a farmers market. There is wine all along the back wall, a little cheese and dessert deli, and lots of souvenir items. We met at the front for our tour and were taken to the back. I'm upset that I can't remember the name of the lady guiding our tasting, but she was very pleasant and generous with the pours. I found the wine to be very good, but I'm not a wine connoisseur, so take that with a grain of salt. What I can speak on with some knowledge was the cheese and cracker dip; this was delicious with a slight kick to it. It's my understanding that the dip changes based on the tasting, but I have a feeling that if this one was this good, the rest will be great as well. After the tasting, we were given a glass and a ticket that we could go outside and get a free glass of wine with. the outside was spectacular; they had great live music, pavilion seating, patio seating with corn hole, and a separate seating area on a dock over a small lake. We sat and enjoyed the music for a bit, then opted to check out the dock. One thing I found particularly cool about the dock was that they offered turtle feed, so you could feed the turtles in the water. They were all very cute poking their heads out of the water. We talked with a local, who said they plan on adding a distillery and some condos. It seems like they're building a great community here, and I would absolutely love to come back and visit once it's complete. 5/5

A very cool spot to do a wine tasting. We also enjoyed some of the snacks while sipping wine and listening to the live band. Such a beautiful venue. I enjoyed this experience, despite my not being a big fan of sweet wines. I'm more Cabernet & Pinot, but this is a spot I'd come hangout at again when in the PCB area. The staff is great and we enjoyed our host during our wine tasting. Very honest and helpful.

The place is awesome! The ambiance, live music, staff, and snacks were delicious. That being said, I do not like sweet wine, so I did not like any of the wines (even the dry ones). $15 for a tasting is a great deal and was a way to try them all. The crackers and dip were FANTASTIC! I wish they had other drinks that were not sweet.

I've gone to the Myrtle Beach location several times and this location idea new in the last year. We did the wine tasting with Darcy. She was friendly, informative and kept us engaged. The pours were about 10 in total. Great girls outing or date idea. Super chill and great employees. I love the Peach Bellini frozen slushie

Everyone is very nice and friendly, very well informed about all the products. Take pride in their products and services. The wine tasting was amazing, nice group size, and all of us became friends after the presentation. Like the variety of wines from dry and fruity to sweet slushy wines. We also bottled our wine which was very fun and learned more about the process of producing the wine. The winery vibe was an incredibly beautiful place from outside to relax with bluegrass music mixed with sitting on a gazebo making me not want to even leave. You can people enjoy their careers.

Very cute winery. Ambiance was beautiful. Had a band you could sit and watch while enjoying a glass of wine. They don't serve food but they do have crackers and a cheese type dip you can get that wasn't bad. It's definitely something to try if your in the area. Beautiful place. Service was very good.

Really nice place! I love sweet wine and this was right up my alley! They have some mild sweet , slushy and hot muled wines also. Service was excellent, Randolph was our wine tasting guide and he was great! Really good price for trying almost 12 wines was just $15 a person with a free full glass at the end! What a great deal! Beautiful grounds, listening to live music and enjoying a charcuterie board that you can purchase in the front. The crab dip and crackers was included with the wine tasting and it was delicious. We had a really good time and can't wait to visit the ones from SC and NC soon!

We watched this winery as it was constructed, on park of the old Hombre golf course. It was open this visit. We stopped by on a hunch and weren't disappointed. They have wine tastings, live music all day everyday, and a beautiful indoor/outdoor area to enjoy a glass of wine. Don't pass this place.

Lovey place with friendly staff and some tasty wine slushies (I truly thought would be gross but they were scrumptious!). The music was exceptional! J. Cruz (you need to check out his soulful sound) I will definitely revisit and look forward to the directions they are expanding. Next time I will bring more friends

This place is truly amazing! They just opened in PCB so we stopped by for a wine tasting and it was so much fun!!! Our host, Darla, was so fun and very knowledgeable. The tasting was $15 and included this amazing cheese dip and crackers made with their Muscadine Pineapple Habanero sauce and cream cheese. (Of course, we went home with a bottle.). We tasted at least 10 different wines during the tasting and once the tasting was over, we sat on the back patio while enjoying our complimentary glass of wine and listened to the guy playing music. ( I believe they have someone playing most afternoons) Even with the heat outside, the patio was completely covered and had plenty of fans so that it was very relaxing and enjoyable! If you are ever in Panama City and enjoy wine, definitely check this place out! We will certainly be back when we are in town again!
