My family and I embarked on a fantastic journey from Marrakech to Fes, led by the wonderful guide Hassan. The diversity of landscapes and people in this country was truly captivating. Having Hassan with us was a bonus – he knew all the right places to discover, including where to support hardworking artisans selling items like rugs and headscarves. A special highlight was being invited into the home of an Amazigh (Berber) nomadic family. Our trip was a perfect blend of cultural insights and enjoyable moments. And let me tell you, splurging a bit on quad biking in the Sahara was absolutely worth it. A big shoutout to our guide Hassan for making it all the more memorable.

Hiroshi Tanaka

What an incredible journey! From camel rides and nights under the stars in the Sahara Desert, to exhilarating quad biking adventures and sharing warm mint tea with the Nomads – this trip exceeded all expectations. It’s an experience my family and I will cherish forever. Our driver, Lahcen, was a true gem – attentive, patient, and full of knowledge. He even let the younger ones play their music in the car, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Lahcen genuinely cared about our interests, going the extra mile to fulfill our requests and ensuring our comfort. The itinerary was perfectly balanced, providing ample time for exploration while covering a multitude of destinations. This trip was ideal for our family with young adults, offering exceptional value for the experiences we gained. Thank you, Lahcen, for making our journey truly unforgettable.

Mateo Rodriguez

Our desert tour experience was absolutely amazing, and it was all thanks to our fantastic tour guide, Abdel. Despite the challenges of traveling with three young kids during the scorching heat, Abdel made the journey enjoyable and effortless for us. His respectfulness, patience, and sense of fun made him an incredible travel companion. In fact, it felt like we were exploring with a close friend rather than a stranger. Lahcen is fluent in English, ensures safe travel, and possesses an extensive knowledge of the areas we visited. There’s nothing quite like having a true local guide to show you around. You can sense Lahcen’s genuine love for his country and its people, and he takes great pride in sharing his culture with visitors. As a delightful bonus, he’s also a skilled photographer! The tour company provided exactly what was promised, and the service was top-notch. The accommodations were not only beautiful but also comfortable. We wholeheartedly recommend this experience – a 100% must-try!

James Carter

Marrakech Desert Trips was truly professional and maintained excellent communication in the lead-up to the tour. Our guide, Mohamed, was not only friendly but also consistently punctual and a safe driver. The accommodations and meals at both the desert camp and riad met our expectations. We’re grateful for the wonderful time we had and for the unforgettable experience of exploring the Sahara for the first time.

Henry Adams

So, where do I begin? I travel frequently, and have had wonderful experiences. Marrakech Desert Trips provided one of, if not the greatest tours. I was pleasantly delighted by their willingness to meet our requirements, as well as the quickness with which everything was set up and organized. Everything was delivered on schedule and in accordance with their website’s description. The itinerary of our 4 day Marrakech to Fes desert tour was perfect: each stop was planned with just enough time to enjoy the Sahara desert flavour, but not too much.

Brief Itinerary of Marrakesh 4 Days Tour

Itinerary of 4 days trip from marrakech to fes, day 1: marrakech – atlas mountains – ait ben haddou – ouarzazate.

Winding through the High Atlas mountains, the Tizi n’Tichka pass, a modern road that has replaced the ancient camel route, will take us to the Dades Valley. It is famous for its rock formations, palm groves, Skoura oasis, and kasbahs. That’s why what catches your eye the most on your way to the desert is plenty of dense and leafy vegetation, rural Berber villages, and ancient homes or fortifications.

Some of them are small and semi-crumbling. Others are of impressive size and height, built with perimeter walls and defensive towers to house multiple families. Many are well-preserved or restored using traditional materials.

We’ll visit different kasbahs when traveling for 4 days Marrakech to Fes . But near Ouarzazate, there’s one that’s almost guaranteed to have a dejá vu feel – the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, the backdrop to many historical films. We’ll stay in Ouarzazate for dinner and the night on the first day of our 4-day Marrakech-to-Fes tour .

Morocco Tours Package

Day 2: Dades – Todra Gorges – Merzouga – Camel trekking and campsite in the desert

The Dades and Todra Gorges, world-famous as the Grand Canyon of Morocco, have truly impressive dimensions. But they are only a part of the attractions planned for your second day.

As we arrive at Merzouga, the adventure in the Erg Chebbi dunes begins. This is the most exciting stage of this 4-day tour from Marrakech and should be experienced rather than described in words.

Once at the campsite, we’ll make ourselves comfortable in deluxe tents.

3 Days Tour from Fez To Merzouga

Day 3: Merzouga – Berber villages – Merzouga

After getting to the top of a dune to watch the sunrise, we’ll travel to remote Erg Chebbi villages such as Hassi Labied and Khamlia to meet local families and get a true feel of living in the Sahara. If there’s enough water in the Yasmina lake (in springtime), it looks spectacular amid the dunes. If not, it is a reminder of how precious of a resource water is.

The day ends with an overnight experience in Merzouga.

      Day 4: Merzouga – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes

The last day of our Marrakech to Fes 4-day tour takes you through the splendid Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas mountains. As we move past the splendid views, you will not even notice how fast you wind up in Fes.

4 Days desert Tour from Fez to Marrakech ( Luxury Camp )

My guide Yassine was brilliant. Knew instantly I wasn’t into idle chitchat and more into knowing the country, and was super informative and helpful when I asked about history, the people and present socio-economic status. And absolutely no attempt to take me shopping at tourist ripoffs. I sat next to the driver to avoid getting carsick, and the driving was so safe and smooth that I dozed off, which almost never happened. A pity he didn’t speak English, but then was very patient in teaching me some local vocabulary, so it was great too. Very very satisfied customer here.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Morocco with our wonderful tour guide Said. We experienced an insight into the Berber culture and the unique arid Moroccan landscape, which was topped off by a brilliant camel trek in the western sahara. A special mention must go to our Camel Guid Zayd who is an absolute good man! Our trip started in Fez and ended in Marrakech....Said took us to many attractions and made sure we got the best panoramic shots! Even when we were fast asleep they made sure we wouldn't miss important sites along the trip. The desert experience was amazing- not to be missed! overall I would totally recommend Said and Cultural morocco tours ! Thanks

3 Days Sahara Adventure (Fes / Marrakech) Tour

3 Days Sahara Adventure (Fes / Marrakech)

Our 3 day Sahara adventure far exceeded our expectations! We were family of 5, 2 teenagers and 3 adults and everyone had an amazing time. Our guide Ali was personable, knowledgeable and made us feel welcome and well looked after. You cover a lot of ground in 3 days and you see some incredible sites which would not be possible without booking this tour. Our mini van was incredibly comfortable and Ali was a fabulous driver. The first night was spent at a desert camp and I highly recommend upgrading your accommodation, our glamming tent was luxurious and well worth it. The second night was spent in a more traditional Riad in the mountains and was equally as fabulous. We ate some incredible food along the way, learnt a lot about Morocco, its culture and traditions and its people. Upon our arrival in Marrakech Ali gave us a list of recommendations for things to do and places to go which have been amazing. As a family we would highly recommend this wonderful experience and enjoyed every moment of it. Thankyou Ali and Tour Radar for this unforgettable adventure.

We have been completely amazed by the whole service. We were highly recommended to use tourradar only and very happy we did. To recap: none of the tours offered interested us and tourradar sent a message to the operators who would accept to taylor made their price to the tour we requested. GUIDED MOROCCO TOURS+ (GM+) accepted to tour my mother, single, on her own, well passed her seventies, on a "all by herself trip" to discover. I was kept up to date on whatsapp through the trip from the USA. It was extraordinary. Ahmad was with her on the first 2 days then it was Anwar. You guys have been outstandingly nice, kind, knowledgeable, helpful, just greatly awesome with my mum !

What people love about fes to marrakesh tours.

The itinerary was very good and well organized. Our driver was excellent. The highlight of the trip is the night at the desert. The camping at Tirizi was exceptional. We loved the tents , restaurant, fire place, food and the music they played in the evening. The ride in camel was amazing. Things to improve: 1. The hotel at Ouarzazate. The hotel Rose Valley was clean but the restaurant was dark and cold and the food was average. The halls feel and look like a hospital . 2. The driver was excellent but I would have like to have a person that was more knowledgeable of the history of Morocco.
We ( a family of five) did the 3-day trip from Fes to Marrakesh with Ali, and we had a great time. Not only was he very knowledgeable and a safe driver but he also made the trip fun and engaging for the children. Stunning countryside, warm and welcoming people and lots of things we learned along the way! The undisputed highlight for us were the trips to the desert (dromedary as well as the quad bike ride) but visits to the Kasbah in Skoura and the local market are also highly recommended.

My special interests are gardens, nature and architecture. Coming from Western Australia I'm very used to long drives, hot weather and the desert.I will be flying into Tangier , driving the usual north to west loop through the desert and then fly out of Marrakech .I'm using Morocco Colourful Tours to organise the trip for me.

Thanks in Advance ☺

3 nights Marrakech

Spend at least 4 if not more days for the desert roadtrip from Fes to Marrakech

Have you looked at any guidebooks yet?

They will offer a good start.

Also remember that your driver is not your guide. You will still have to hire guides at an extra cost for all the major sites. Unless they specifically state that your tour price includes this and the tour company will pay the guide.

Yes I have consulted the Lonely Planet plus other books from my local Library and lots of online Blogs

A very good start 😎

Thankyou Penna

This adds both time and ease.

I take it they have you going Tangier then Chefchaouen , with a stop at Tetouen.

Since the drive to fes is long and you have 2 weeks. Maybe 2 nights in Chaouen.

At least 2 nights in Fes . After Fes maybe 1 night Meknes. Next see Volubilis, Mouley Idress on you way to Azrou. Lunch after Volubilis. I suggest if you like burgers (just the meat , no bun) so at the butcher on the hill with tables in their rose garden. You order you burgers by the raw kilo.

After lunch, drop luggage at Azrou hotel and see Ifraine and the wild Barbary apes. Then dinner.

Early of next morning for Merzuga. Long driving day here.

Merzuga, 1st night in a glamping text with camel 🐫 ride. Morning breakfast then half day 4x4 tour of the area ending in Gnoua music show in Khamlia followed by a big lunch. Then to your duneside hotel (at the moment I like Yasmina), to relax and of warm enough swim. Dinner and lovely evening with dunes and stars.

Next day to Todhra gorge for overnight (maybe look at auberge du Festival) next day so and lunch in the Dades gorge then overnight near Ouarzazate.

Next day morning visit to Aït Ben Haddou. Drive the oass to finish in Marrakech for last nights with optional day trips. You could add Essaouira or Taroudant to this.

Just my thoughts. Reading your guidebook should narrow things down.

You are most welcomed Clairmont.

Thankyou Penna for that detailed itinerary.

It is very much appreciated.

I think that's roughly what we are doing.

After Ouarzazate we are driving to Taroudant for a night.

on the way.
