Explore the dramatic gorges of Karijini National park, and soak up the beauty of the Ningaloo reef on this amazing guided tour. This is an active holiday that will leave you feeling on top of the world, at your absolute best, with the perfect blend of activity and rest. Our Karijini and Ningaloo Reef tour is designed to give you an in depth walking tour of Karijini as well as an opportunity to swim with the whale sharks and snorkel on the Ningaloo reef. There is plenty of time to swim in many of the gorges with ample time to relax and take in the tranquil atmosphere and beautiful landscapes. By flying into Paraburdoo and out of Exmouth we have minimised driving time. As this tour takes us to some remote places it is one of our comfortable camping-based tours. Each guest will stay in a semi permanent tent, with a cosy camping bed.

Meals: Dinner

Day 1 - Arrival Day. Fly into Paraburdoo drive to Karijini National Park

Day 2 - Kalamina Gorge, Karijini Visitors Centre and Dales Gorge

First up today, we will head deep into the park to check out the spectacular Kalamina gorge. Though the path is rocky and uneven under foot this is one of the easier walks with a mostly gentle descent. At the bottom of the gorge, we will be rewarded by one of Karijini's perfect swimming holes where we can cool off.

After Kalamina gorge, we will take the opportunity to stop in at the Visitor's centre, learn about the parks history and grab yourself an ice cream. We'll enjoy a picnic lunch, and then go to Dale's Gorge where we will spend the rest of the afternoon. The stunning water holes in this area with their deep red rocks, lush ferns and waterfalls offer an experience you will remember for the rest of your life.

Once we have had our fill, we will head back to camp for our meal together, under the stars.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 2 - Kalamina Gorge, Karijini Visitors Centre and Dales Gorge

Day 3 - Mt Bruce

Mt Bruce is Western Australia's second highest peak. The Mt Bruce walk trail is a fantastic ridge walk, with some steep and rocky sections along the route. From one side you'll have the vista of Karijini Range; from the other an iron ore mine! The 9.5 km return walk will take us most of the day and is definitely worth the effort.

Day 3 - Mt Bruce

Day 4 - Hancock and Weano Gorge

We'll explore two of the most iconic gorges in Karijini - Hancock and Weano. The walks are challenging in places, but not difficult. Both involve some wading and clambering on rocks and ledges; and both reward us with fantastic jade pools nestled deep within the narrow gorge walls. Highlights include the Spider Walk and Kermits Pool.

Day 4 - Hancock and Weano Gorge

Day 5 - Walk up Mt Nameless, drive to Cheela Plains (via Tom Price)

This morning you will say farewell to Karijini and begin your journey to the West Coast. The rocky peak of Mt Nameless (Jarndunmunha) dominates the landscape as you drive towards Tom Price. We will follow the trail, along the ridge line to the top of this significant mountain. This is a 4.5km, class 4 return walk with some challenging sections but rewarding views!

For those after an alternative to hiking Mt Nameless, there is a mine site tour which leaves from the visitors centre or you may wish to spend the morning relaxing in the township of Tom Price at a local cafe.

In the afternoon we depart Tom Price for Cheela Plains, a true outback station stay where you will enjoy a delicious meal under the spectacular desert night sky!

Accommodation: Cheela Plains Station Stay (or similar)

Day 5 - Walk up Mt Nameless, drive to Cheela Plains (via Tom Price)

Day 6 - Drive to Exmouth

Time to rest the legs on a travel day. Western Australia is a big place so it will take us much of the day to get across to Exmouth. There will be plenty of rest stops to stretch your legs.

We will arrive with time to watch the sun set into the Indian Ocean.

Accommodation: Yardie Homestead Caravan Park (or similar)

Day 6 - Drive to Exmouth

Day 7 - Optional Whale shark or Glass Bottom Boat Tour

Day 7 - Optional Whale shark or Glass Bottom Boat Tour

Day 8 - Yardie creek walk and snorkel Turquoise Bay

Today we will explore Cape Range national park, with a series of short walks, snorkelling and swiming along the coast.

Spot rock wallabies and an incredible array of sea life on this wonderful day. We will explore Mandu Mandu gorge and Yardie Creek gorge then to Turquoise Bay along Ningaloo Reef for a swim and snorkel. Your guides will create you a delicious dinner to enjoy when we get back to camp.

Day 8 - Yardie creek walk and snorkel Turquoise Bay

Day 9 - Charles knife canyon lookout

Having experienced Ningaloo from the water, today we will spend a bit more time on dry land. There are plenty of walk trails though this area portraying the interesting limestone karst and spinifex country.

Compared to some of our exploits in Karijini these trails are relatively easy. The heat can definitely be a factor though, so we may have to augment today's itinerary if this is the case.

That said, after exploring the Charles Knife Canyon, we will head back to the blue waters of Ningaloo for another opportunity to swim. Hopefully we will spot a turtle!

After another full day of exploring, we will head back to camp for the last night.

Day 9 - Charles knife canyon lookout

Day 10 - Departure Day

Our last day!

After breakfast you will be transferred to either Exmouth town (drop off: Visitors Ningaloo Centre - 9:30AM) or Learmonth Airport for an approximate time of 10:15-10:30AM.

Due to guides relocating the vehicle to Tom Price on this day, we can only provide the one transfer as listed above.

Note : Should Qantas reschedule their flight to require an earlier arrival than 10.30AM, we will move this departure transfer to provide adequate airport check in time.

The beginning of this walk is relatively flat and easy however once we being the ascent it can get a bit rocky with a few switchbacks. Your guides will help you to navigate the landscape and you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding Hammersley Ranges. We'll head back to camp for a well-deserved dinner.

We are venturing further a field today to the very western side of the national park ? Hamersley Gorge. About Walking Tours In General

How hard are the walks.

The difficulty of the walks ranges from tour to tour, from easy to challenging. We design all of our walking tours to be achievable for those with a moderate level of fitness. We do recommend doing some training before most tours, because physical activity is always more enjoyable if you are physically prepared. We will send you information about how to train when you book.

When on tour we find that a positive mental attitude is most important and that if you focus on the scenery, the company and the moment, and not on the kilometres, then you find yourself reaching your destination with little problem. You can always have a day or sometimes an afternoon off to relax if you feel like it. If you have any concerns about your fitness or ability to complete a walk, give us a call or send us an email and we can talk you through it.

Do I have to twin-share accommodation? Can I have my own room?

Our tour prices are based on rooms being twin share (two single beds in one room) or double (one double/queen bed in a room, shared by a couple). If you are travelling alone, we will place you in a room with someone of the same gender. If you have opted for a single supplement, this means you will have your own room but we won’t always be able to guarantee your own bathroom and king/queen bed due to the types of accommodation we use for group bookings. Often we stay at 2 or 3 bedroom chalets so that we can cook and have a common area for the group to relax and mingle at the end of your days walk. If having your own bathroom is important, give us a ring and we will see if it is possible.

Will I hold up the group if I’m a slow walker?

We find a lot of people who haven’t been on a walking tour before worry about this, but it’s rarely an issue. We keep a comfortable steady pace with plenty of opportunities to rest and take in the scenery along the way. Usually the group will spread out over a couple of hundred metres as we walk.

Normal walking pace on a formed surface like a road or footpath is around 4.5 – 6 km per hour and we tend to average just over 3 km per hour on bush tracks. It’s not a stroll but it’s not a brisk walk either. If you feel you may be slower than this, try some longer training walks to increase your walking fitness.

What is the average age of Inspiration Outdoors’ guests?

About 80% of our walkers are aged between 45 – 75, but we welcome all adults on our tours. We get a roughly 60/40 female to male split.

Posted in: About Walking Tours In General , Day Walk FAQs

What’s the food like? Can you cater for my dietary needs?

We serve simple, nutritious and delicious food on tour prepared by our guides, using fresh and local ingredients as much as possible. Sometimes we also eat out at restaurants. Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, fresh fruit, pre-dinner nibbles and a two course evening meal are all included. We are happy to adapt our menu to suit many dietary needs including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan diets – please ask when you book.

Are your walking tours just for “bushwalkers”?

Our walks are for anyone who enjoys walking and nature – bushwalkers or not. Our walks are conducted in safe, supportive and fun environments and you don’t need specialised equipment or experience to undertake them. We give you information about what you will need to bring and how you should prepare for each tour and we’re always here to answer any questions or concerns.

Do I have to walk every day on tour?

Of course not – it’s your holiday and you should do what you feel! Relax at the accommodation, come for a drive, get dropped off in town or go for a stroll of your own. On some days there is also the opportunity to walk for part of the day. This last option depends on whether there is vehicle access to the track.

What do I have to carry when I walk?

Very little. A water bladder or bottles, lunch/snacks/fruit for the day. a rain jacket, some personal first aid supplies and, on some days, lunch. You will probably want a camera as well. We return to accommodation each evening so there is no need to carry a large backpack.

Not sure if this is the right tour for you?

At Inspiration Outdoors, we understand that choosing the right tour can be a difficult decision. That’s why we’re here to help make the process as smooth as possible. If you still have questions, give us a call or drop us a line. Whether it’s a question about the tour itinerary or your fitness level, our customer care team is ready to answer it. We have product specialists for every tour who are eager to share their knowledge and help you plan your next adventure.

EXMOUTH TO KARIJINI

tours to karijini national park from exmouth

Hammersley Gorge, Karijini National Park, WA.

Two of the most beautiful places in Australia and they’re only 640km apart. From the insanely blue and clear waters of Cape Range National Park to the deep red colours of Karijini National Park. These are two locations that you definitely shouldn’t miss when travelling Australia. I’m going to tell you the highlights and how we tackled these amazing parts of Oz.

Exmouth is located 1250km north of Perth, the town itself is mainly consumed by Tourism with the world heritage Ningaloo reef just over the range and the Whale Sharks that frequent its waters from April to July. It has everything you need to stock up on supplies, get any repairs done, car servicing or just relax and enjoy the atmosphere of an outback coastal town. There is an airport located at Learmonth about half an hour away which runs flights direct, to and from Perth making it very accessible for everyone.

Bec snorkelling at Turquoise Bay, Ningaloo Reef, WA.

When we first get into Exmouth, we pull straight in to the RAC BIG4 Exmouth Cape Holiday Park. Its a fantastic park with great faciities, plenty of grass and shade. A mob of wandering Emu’s that cruise around poking their heads into your campsite which is very unique. We base ourselves here for a few days while we get all our washing done, load up with groceries and get excited about what lays ahead in the Cape Range National Park. Exmouth has some great cafe’s, playgrounds and In the centre of town, just near the shopping complex is a free waterpark that the kids absolutely loved.

A good bit of info for when you’re planning your trip to Cape Range is that all camp sites can only be booked online. This can make securing a good site hard at late notice as there is a lot of visitors that return each year and book up all the best sites early, staying for weeks at a time. The website is very helpful though as it provides you with maps of each campground which outline the position of each site and how big they are. This helps a lot when choosing a campsite without ever having been to the campground itself. Peak season here stretches from April to October and the area swells with tourists from all over the world. The sites here are some of the best value in Australia, for only $10 per adult per night and kids under 5 are free. You’re able to camp just metres from the waters of Ningaloo Reef and experience all that it has to offer. The snorkelling, the fishing, the walks and the sunsets are all perfect!

Yardie Creek, Cape Range National Park.

We chose to stay at Osprey Bay campground for 5 nights. We would love to stay longer but 6 days is about our limit living off grid with our onboard water tanks. We have 180L underneath, but with 5 of us living in the van it can dry up pretty quick.  Osprey Bay is the largest campsite in Cape Range, and we believe one of the best. The sites are close to the water, the views are amazing (especially at sunset) and the beach access is perfect for everyone with little sheltered beaches among the rocky shoreline. We spend hours every day lazing around on the sand, snorkelling and building sand castles. With our van parked only a short walk to the beach, we go back and forth several times a day enjoying the warm clear waters. It truly is a Paradise here at Osprey Bay.

Osprey Bay Campground.

Just around the point from Osprey Bay is Sandy Bay and there is a walking trail that will take you straight there from Osprey, a good place to get some exercise done to burn off all the Happy Hour cheese and biscuits that are devoured every afternoon. This little bay is so picturesque, a big shallow protected bay with nothing but sand and blue water, another perfect safe place to swim.

Our campsite at Osprey Bay.

Our first day at Osprey Bay was a total relax and enjoy day. We literally did nothing but eat, sleep, swim and take in the warmth of the sun. The atmosphere here totally surrounds you and its the only place we have been to on our travels where we are happy to sit still and enjoy, not feeling like we need to explore any further.

Plenty of fish to be caught on the Ningaloo Reef within appropriate zones.

With the sun starting to set and the tide on the rise, it was a good time to head down for a fish. Casting a slow sinking stickbait with a fast retrieve bought about 3 good sized Golden Trevally. A welcome catch on our first day and it provided us with dinner for the next few nights.

Amazingly blue waters of the Ningaloo Reef.

On our second day, my wife Bec had organised a Whale Shark dive, so she headed off early in the morning to meet the crew at the Tantabiddi boat ramp which is around 40 minutes away from the Osprey camp site. This left me with the 3 kids on my own for the whole day which would normally have me freaking out, but having spent so much time with my kids over the last 18 months while on the road, I now think of myself as super dad and can handle anything.

tours to karijini national park from exmouth

There is lots to see and do while camping at any of the sites along the National Park. Starting at the end and working back towards Exmouth there is Yardie Creek Gorge which is a great walk up to the top with some amazing views back down the gorge to the reef. They also run boat tours through the Gorge which are apparently amazing to see. There is the Jarabi Turtle Centre which is a great place to learn everything about the Ningaloo turtle population and their nesting habits. If you’re into snorkelling then there are 2 of the best locations in Australia, The Oyster Stacks and Turquoise Bay. The Stacks can only be snorkelled on a high tide so there is enough water to float over the top of the stacks. And Turquoise Bay has some amazing snorkelling as well, with the natural ocean currents called ‘The Drift’ pushing you along the reef so you hardly have to use your flippers to move along. It is pure bliss floating along these coastlines and you feel so safe that you just lose yourself in the waters and spend hours exploring all the underwater coral bommies and shelfs trying to see more and more amazing sealife.

Our 3rd day was spent exploring Yardie creek and the Gorge, the walk is only a 2km return loop and is classed as a moderate or grade 3 bush walk. We managed to do it no drama’s with our 3 little ones and it was a cool adventure that they all enjoyed.. At the entrance to the Gorge where the ocean flows in, there is some great little swimming holes that are great to relax in after the walk. It can get really hot here, so make sure your well equipped with plenty of water and snacks.

Day 4 and we head to the iconic Turquoise Bay. The water here has the most unbelievable  shade of blue and the sands are some of the whitest in Australia. You only have to step a few metres into the water and dive in with your snorkelling gear on and straight away there is schools of fish cruising around you with not a worry in the world. The water is so clear and the visibility is amazing, it truly has to be some of the best land based snorkelling in the world.

PARADISE at Turquoise Bay.

Our last full Day in the Cape Range National Park is spent the same as our first. Totally relaxing in the Epic weather that had been perfect our whole stay. A couple of windy mornings that die off around lunchtime which is normal for the time of year, but nothing that interfered with us enjoying the waters and beaches of Osprey Bay. Sunset again brings a few more fish. A good sized Spangled Emperor and another Golden Trevally, a delicious parting gift from the Ningaloo Reef.

Osprey Bay, WA.

Checkout time of the campsite is 10am, so with a late start we pack away our camp setup and hit the road with a tear in our eye for the short drive back to Exmouth and the RAC BIG4 Exmouth Cape Holiday Park.

For most people travelling to Exmouth, this might be the end of their adventures here and they would move on with their own fantastic memories. But for us, we managed to find another really fun experience to do with the family – Cruise Ningaloo!!

We hired a self drive catamaran from Cruise Ningaloo , a beautiful vessel not unlike the self drive cats around the whitsundays in QLD.  We opted to have a skipper with us as we have never sailed before and were a bit nervous heading into the open ocean on our own.

With a few small bags of clothes and toiletries packed, we leave our van and load up the family onto the Ningaloo Virgin. Its a beautiful boat with 4 seperate sleeping area’s, 2 bathrooms and big lounge area’s inside and out. The facilities on board are not unlike our caravan yet on a much grander scale.

We set sail from Exmouth Harbour and head to the Muiron Islands which is about a 3 hour sail on a boat like this. While we sail, we are taught everything about how to sail the Cat on our own. Halfway across we are in total control and feeling like a sea captain from way back.

Captain Jack!

We reach our anchorage in the early afternoon and we have the islands all to ourself. The skipper has a special treat organised for us and we all head to shore in the dinghy for sunset drinks, nibbles and a bonfire on the beach, simply amazing!!

We felt very very special to have this all too ourselves, all the camp sites in the National Park are booked out and we have this island to explore on our lonesome.

On the Muiron Islands.

We drift into the night with a few more drinks, some good tunes, great food and some hilarious conversation.

Morning on the Ningaloo Virgin brings an amazing sunrise over the water, a fantastic breakfast and some snorkelling straight off the back of the boat. After a leisurely morning enjoying the beach and waters of the Muiron islands we sail back to Exmouth to disembark with some happy memories of a weekend on the water. We then continue on in our Caravan.

Sunset, campfire and a cold one. Bliss!

We spend another night In Exmouth to sort ourselves out with washing and stocking up on groceries and we head off with excitement to explore one of Australia’s most breathtaking National Parks, Karijini.

Circular Pool, Karijini NP.

The drive from Exmouth to Tom Price is approx 640km so it’s a good idea to break up the drive with an overnighter if you can. We chose to stay at Bullara Station which is 120km from Exmouth. It is one of the most unique station stays that we have visited, it has a really great atmosphere with some unique sculptures made from old farming equipment located around the camp. Its home to the best outdoor shower in Australia (in our opinion). The open air showers are heated by a wood fired boiler where gravity feeds the water down to a big galvanised bucket hanging from old tree trunks. It’s absolutely the best way to wash away the outback dust and is something everyone should experience.

There is also a daily afternoon damper and campfire which is delicious and it leads into a happy hour with fellow campers accompanied by some great stories around the fire.

A long day of 500km gets us to Tom Price and we stay at the only caravan park in town, the Tom Price Tourist Park. It’s a great park and a lot of traveller’s base themselves here and day trip out to the sights of Karijini. There are a few other options for accommodation while exploring the National Park as well. There is the Karijini Eco Retreat and Dales Campground. They are both great campsites and located in different areas of the park which means you can stay in both to be closer to different attractions, although, you can base yourself at one campground and day trip to all the sights. Our recommendation would be to base yourself at Dales campground. It is only $10 per adult per night and it has some of the prettiest gorges, falls and swimming holes within walking distance of your site.

Karijini Eco Retreat Campground.

We spend our first 2 nights in the National Park at the Karijini Eco Retreat. For $20 per adult per night, it has a cafe/restaurant, toilets and showers and nice big marked out sites with plenty of room for large caravans. This is a great camp to setup and explore Hamersley, Knox and Hancock Gorge. They are all a short drive away and they hold some of the most spectacular swimming holes and walking trails in the park.

Happy 2nd Birthday Charli. Exploring Karijini 🙂

First up was Hamersley Gorge, a steep rocky decent, but doable with our 3 young ones, to witness this spectacular gorge. The swimming hole was refreshing and we all went in for a dip and swam though the narrow gorge. What an experience! From Hamersley we took the dirt road to Hancock Gorge. We knew that we would have to take this slowly. Navigating rocky steps and climbing over the natural beauty of this gorge was a fantastic adventure for us all. Our 2 year old daughter was strapped to Bec’s back and our 2 boys thought they were world explorers, having an absolute ball. This beautiful setting had us doing the ‘Spider Walk’ and walking through waist deep water, a fun encounter we wont forget! It’s a beautiful 1km Grade 4 walk and well worth it.

tours to karijini national park from exmouth

Our 3rd night we move around 60km to stay at Dales campground. This camp is great for families that have younger kids like ours, the walking trails here are a lot easier and involve a few rocky steps and ladders. No spider walking and climbing that you experience with the harder trails we encountered in Weano Gorge.

Spider Walk.

First stop from Dales is Fortescue falls, only a short walk down a steel stairway and you arrive at a gentle set of falls that run into a clear swimming hole at the base of the rocks. If you follow the signs and keep walking a few hundred metres you will find a place called Fern Pool. Like something out of a movie scene, Fern Pool is just picture perfect, and a top spot to enjoy a bite for lunch or pack your own picnic and spend an hour or two.

Fortescue Falls.

On our 4th night at Dales Campground we decided to tackle Circular Pool. It is simply magnificent. Located at the bottom of a perfectly rounded oasis containing a swimming hole. This stunning pool is surrounded by a rock shelf flowing with lush green ferns and a waterfall that trickles down the rock face. To get down to the pool, the rocky steps need to be taken slowly as it is quite steep but once you hit your destination you wont be disappointed. The perfect spot for a swim to cool off and capture some amazing photos. One of the most picturesque wonders.

We absolutely loved this part of Australia and cannot wait to go back. It’s a must see on your travels around Oz and we can’t recommend it enough.

Western Australia’s best of the best, all wrapped into one.

Australia’s west coast boasts some of the world’s best beaches set against a backdrop of rugged Outback terrain – perfect for a road trip like no other. This unique 10-day West Coast Karijini adventure brings you face-to-face with the region’s best natural wonders and exposes you to a rich and colourful landscape. Get snorkelling in the sublime Ningaloo Reef, discover the rocky gorges and waterholes of Karijini National Park and drive along the Coral Coast through the Pilbara then back to Perth. Western Australia’s coast and desert regions are vast and amenities sometimes sparse, but the rewards alongside expert local leaders and small-group experiences are rich beyond belief.

Tour Western Australia's serene coastline and rugged wilderness.

A colossal land replete with natural attractions, Western Australia's vast expanses and unique landscapes will surprise you at every turn. From the serene shorelines of Broome and Shell Beach and freshwater swimming holes of Karijini National Park to Ningaloo’s vibrant reef, this 10-day Broome to Perth adventure really does make for an unforgettable road trip. Discover the hidden grottoes and rock pools of the Pilbara, dip into the crystalline waters of Turquoise Bay and admire the world's oldest living organisms in Kalbarri before finishing up in laidback Perth. Covering an immense distance at a leisurely pace, this trip serves as the perfect getaway for those looking to unearth some of Australia's most serene delights.

Why you’ll love this trip

  • Discover Western Australia’s desert landscapes, national parks and sublime Coral Coast in rugged style on the ultimate small group overland adventure.
  • Enjoy the flexibility of a private vehicle, the expert knowledge of a passionate local guide and the magic of camping under the stars – what’s not to love about the land of Oz?
  • Why not check out the underwater aquarium of Ningaloo Reef by glass-bottom boat, or snorkel, (and pending the season) swim with the whale sharks!
  • Trek the trails of Karijini National Park, weaving through its rocky gorges, and reward your efforts by taking a swim in the park’s ancient waterholes.
  • Visit the Pilbara’s cattle stations, red earth and mining communities.

Is this trip right for you?

  • It is a ‘no frills’ West Coast experience. You’ll spend some nights of the trip sleeping at camping grounds in twin-share tents. While conditions can be basic, this is all part of the adventure.
  • This trip requires a moderate to high level of fitness as it involves a lot of walking, allowing you to really get among nature. The hike in Karijini National Park is challenging. Please bring sturdy, comfortable walking shoes and comfortable clothing. You will need two pairs of shoes, one that can get wet.
  • On some days, you will spend several hours driving, often through very sparse areas of desert. Sit back and enjoy landscapes that you would miss in any other form of travel, and please read the itinerary carefully for travel time estimates.
  • Temperatures in Western Australia can be extreme. During the day the weather can be hot (and the Australian sun is strong) so please bring appropriate clothing, use sun protection and drink plenty of water. In the evenings temperatures really drop, so ensure you have base layers and warm clothing.
  • When you’re not camping, you’ll stay in multi-share accommodation that may be mixed gender dormitories.
  • All times and distances subject to road and weather conditions.

Day 1 Perth

On arrival into Perth Airport, please make your way to your Perth accommodation.

The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2 Perth Paraburdoo Karijini National Park

This morning you will be required to make your own arrangements  to Perth Airport in time for your included flight to Paraburdoo.

On arrival in Paraburdoo, we will pick you up from the airport and head into the beautiful Karijini National Park in time for sunset drinks and dinner.

Note: Due to flight availability the itinerary may change slightly.  On some departures guests will stay the first night in Tom Price and then head into Karijini National Park the following day. All departure dates will still go to all the same gorges and sights.

Day 3 Kalamina Gorge, Dales Gorge

After breakfast today, we will head deep into the park to check out the spectacular Kalamina gorge. Though the path is rocky and uneven under foot this is one of the easier walks with a mostly gentle descent. At the bottom of the gorge, we will be rewarded by one of Karijini’s perfect swimming holes where we can cool off.

After Kalamina gorge, we will take the opportunity to stop in at the Visitor’s centre to check out the information about the park and grab yourself an ice cream or cold drink. After a picnic lunch, we will go to Dale’s Gorge where we will spend the rest of the afternoon. Dale’s Gorge, Circular Pool and Fern Pool are iconically Karijini. The stunning water holes with their deep red rocks and lush ferns, and waterfalls offer an experience you will remember for the rest of your life.

After spending some time here we will head back to camp for a meal under the stars.

Day 4 Mt Bruce

Mt Bruce is Western Australia’s second highest peak. The Mt Bruce walk trail is a fantastic ridge walk, with some steep and rocky sections along the route. From one side you’ll have the vista of Karijini Range; from the other an iron ore mine. The 9.5 km return walk will take us most of the day and is definitely worth the effort.

Day 5 Hancock and Weano Gorge

We’ll explore two of the most iconic gorges in Karijini – Hancock and Weano. The walks are challenging in places, but not difficult. Both involve some wading and clambering on rocks and ledges; and both reward us with fantastic jade pools nestled deep within the narrow gorge walls. Highlights include Kermits Pool and Handrail Pool.

Day 6 Karijini National Park Tom Price Cheela Plains

Before we say goodbye to Karijini we will walk from our campsite to Joffre Gorge. Navigating some fairly large boulders we’ll find a natural amphitheatre, with a waterfall and a delightful paddling pool. A little further down the gorge it drops into the ‘Olympic Swimming Pool’ which is around a 200m swim with sheer cliffs either side.

After lunch we depart Karijini for Cheela Plains, a true outback station stay where you will be amazed by the night sky of the desert on an included astronomy tour.

Day 7 Cheela Plains Exmouth

Enjoy time to rest the legs on a travel day. Western Australia is a big place so it will take us much of the day to get across to Exmouth. We will arrive with time to watch the sun set into the Indian Ocean.

Day 8 Exmouth

What is a trip to Ningaloo without the opportunity to swim with the whale sharks? Some of our guests have said the experience is “one of the best things I have ever done in my life”.

The tours are optional, but highly recommended. Alternative activities are available and can be arranged for those who do not want to do a whale shark tour.

Please note: August departures still have the opportunity to swim with whale sharks in Exmouth. Whilst sightings aren't guaranteed in August, there are still plenty of whale sharks around and various tours still operate. If you are still intersted in swimming with whale sharks in August, please specify in the 'special requests' field and we will confirm your alternate tour with the local operator.

Swimming with the gentle giants of the sea, the iconic whale shark, is the experience of a lifetime – an awe-inspiring wildlife interaction that will live with you forever.

These amazing creatures cruise through the Ningaloo during whale shark season, from early March to the end of July – and there’s no better experience than seeing these gentle filter feeders in their natural environment. Depending on when you come, you might also see turtles, manta rays, humpback whales, dugongs, and dolphins!

Your day starts at approximately 7:45am as you transfer 36km from your Exmouth accommodation to the Tantabiddi Boat Ramp, where you will embark on your ‘Seafari’. Once onboard, wetsuits and snorkel equipment are fitted, the crew are introduced, the days’ itinerary and a vessel safety brief is given.

Our aim is to get you as much in-water time with the whale sharks as we can! The goal is for you to have multiple swims throughout the day with these beautiful gentle giants.

There will be 1-2 groups on the day, with a maximum of 10 per group plus your photographer and in-water guide. Each group will take turns swimming with the whale sharks allowing everyone a good view and good rest in between swims!

Your day concludes between 4-5pm as you are transferred from the boat ramp to your Exmouth accommodation.

Duration: 10hours

Inclusions: morning tea, buffet lunch, afternoon tea, return transfers, snorkeling equipment, tour guide

Note: This tour operates from early March to the end of July only.

Day 9 Cape Range National Park Turquoise Bay

Today we will explore Cape Range national park, with a series of short walks, snorkels and swims along the coast.

Spot rock wallabies and an incredible array of sea life on this wonderful day. We will explore Mandu Mandu gorge and Yardie Creek gorge then head to Turquoise Bay on Ningaloo Reef for a swim and snorkel before heading back to Yardie Homestead for our last night.

Day 10 Charles Knife Canyon Ningaloo Reef

Having experienced Ningaloo from the water, today we will spend a bit more time on dry land. Known locally as the Badjirrajirra Trail, this 6.8km walk will take us into the heart of the Cape Range National park. With gorges cut into the limestone karst, the trail leads us through spinifex country offering views that seemingly go on forever.

Compared to some of our exploits in Karijini this trail will be relatively easy. The heat can definitely be a factor though, so we may have to augment today’s itinerary if this is the case.

That said, after exploring the Charles Knife Canyon, we will head back to the blue waters of Ningaloo for another opportunity to snorkel. This time visit Oyster stacks with its rich array of marine life. Hopefully we will spot a turtle!

After another full day of exploring, we will head back to camp for the last night.

Day 11 Exmouth Perth

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your included flight back to Perth.

Our tour team will do an airport drop off based around the first flight departure of the day. At the same time they will also do a drop off into the township of Exmouth for those on the afternoon flight. You will be able to catch a shuttle from Exmouth to the airport later in the day to make your flight to Perth.

On arrival into Perth, you will be transferred to your Perth hotel for the evening.

Day 12 Perth

Today your package concludes as you commence your own arrangements.

Important Information

Fitness Requirements While the tour itinerary should give you some guidance and overview to the expected requirements, to determine if this tour is right for you we categorise each of our tours in terms of their intensity. These guidelines are to ensure that each tour group is conducted as expected and to ensure the overall satisfaction of all Inspiring Vacations customers.

As a general rule, porterage is not included, therefore at all times you are expected to handle your own luggage where help may not be available.

This tour is 'Active';

Whether it’s an Everest trek or a cycling tour through Europe, these tours are all about the great outdoors. Explore destinations away from the masses. You’ll require a good level of fitness, but they are not technically challenging. At the end of an active day, you can expect to rest in comfort and explore the culinary delicacies of each region. You’ll join an existing tour, not just with Inspiring Vacations guests

Accommodation and Camping Information Comfortable camping in semi permanent eco tents. Due to flight availability, some departures stay overnight in a motel in Tom Price and/or Exmouth but all departures will still get to experience all the sites on our itinerary. All camping equipment is provided, except sleeping bags and pillows. The tents are semi permanent spacious four person tents, which will be used for one person if you are travelling as a solo, or two people if you are travelling as a couple. A  mattress is provided to sleep on as well as a knee high stretcher bed. Sleeping bag hire is available for $35 per person.

There are flushing toilets and showers at all of our accommodations, however during the day when we are out and about long-drop toilets will be available. There is also ample opportunity for swimming on most days.

The accommodation listed is subject to change. Any changes will be of an equal or higher standard. Bedding configurations (double or twin) are requests only. All efforts will be made to meet your preferences, however any changes are beyond our control.

Luggage Requirements Due to health and safety requirements, please limit your luggage to one small-medium sized, soft sided bag per person – it has to be loaded and unloaded many times. 12 kg should be sufficient. If you’re travelling as a couple, please pack two smaller bags rather than one large one. Sleeping bag, pillow, day pack and walking poles can be additional to your main luggage bag.

Suggested items to pack for your tour:

  • Pillow, sleeping bag and sleeping sheet (in a sturdy plastic bag if they don’t fit in your luggage);
  • Day-pack – one with a waist strap is best to help take some weight off your shoulders;
  • Shorts or trousers and shirts for walking – lightweight and quick-dry material are best;
  • Casual clothing for evenings and rest days;
  • Warm clothing in case of cold evenings and mornings – jumper, tracksuit pants, beanie;
  • Waterproof jacket;
  • Walking socks;
  • Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes or boots (ankle support is recommended as many surfaces are rocky and uneven);
  • Reef sandals or shoes for walking in water. Make sure they have good grip even when they’re wet;
  • Ankle gaiters/sock protectors suitable for hot weather (not plastic);
  • Sun protection – hat, sunglasses, sunscreen (and consider your clothing);
  • Bathers and a small swimming towel (lightweight so you can easily carry them);
  • Bath towel;
  • Toiletries, hand sanitiser and personal medication;
  • Reliable headlamp with spare batteries (much better than a torch because you can use both hands when wearing a headlamp);
  • Any preferred first aid supplies such as blister treatment (your guides will carry a first-aid kit);
  • Water bottle/s – 2 to 3 litre capacity;
  • Fly net (to go over your hat);
  • Insect Repellent;
  • Camera and charger/batteries (You can use your battery charger on the bus while we are driving). A waterproof camera is great for the many swimming holes;
  • Walking poles if you use them;
  • A lunch container so your sandwich doesn’t get squashed;
  • Snacks for the walks if desired.

Single Supplement Single supplement is $420.00 per person, in addition to the twin-share price.

Triple Share Not available.

Travel Insurance Travel insurance is recommended to protect yourself against the unexpected. In addition to the support that a policy may provide, you may be asked to present a copy of your travel insurance documentation while traveling.

Note that Inspiring Vacations cannot provide advice with regards to any insurance product.

Group Size Between 2 to a maximum of 15

When travelling with a group, no matter the size, we ask you to be understanding of the various needs and preferences of your group - patience with your fellow travellers is sometimes required for the benefit of everyone's travel experience.

Bedding requests We do our best to meet your bedding preference, however, bedding configurations (double or twin) are requests only and cannot be guaranteed. All efforts will be made to meet your preference, however, any changes are beyond our control and limited by the hotel facilities and availability.

Tour Styles  - This package is an Fully Escorted  style. To meet the needs of various types of travellers, we choose to operate various types of tours and depending on your selected package will mean different services are provided throughout your trip. The following descriptions of each tour style we hope will ensure that each traveller has appropriate expectations before they start their travels:

  • Independent - On these packages you will travel from city to city on your own, exploring at your own pace. We have arranged transportation in most cases and day tours for you to see the destination. Enjoy the time and flexibility to linger longer or pick up the pace and see as much as possible.
  • Partially Escorted - A portion of these packages runs as a group tour where you will be escorted by an expert tour leader. Another portion is independent, whether conducted by rail, cruise or land, and you will travel between destinations on your own, with free time to explore at your own pace.
  • Fully Escorted - This tour is fully escorted by an expert English-speaking guide who will accompany you throughout the tour.

Who is operating this package We have partnered with a wide range of third party operators who assist in fulfilling your booking and delivering an enjoyable on-tour experience. • Please note that swimming with whale sharks is not included on this trip and is an optional activity. It is very important that you pre-book any whale shark experiences, as these can sell out far in advance. You are able to book this service with us (subject to availability). Please let us know well ahead of time if you would like to add this option to your booking. Please also note that whale sharks visit the region between mid-March and mid-September only, so please make sure you schedule your trip accordingly if you would like to include this experience in your trip.

Welcome to Paraburdoo Airport! After a pickup at the airport, your group will drive into Karijini National Park, home of the Banjima, Innawongka and Eastern Guruma peoples. This is Western Australia’s second largest national park with a landscape that is more than 2.5 billion years old and some of the best hiking trails in the state. Get to know your group over sunset drinks and dinner before settling into your comfortable tent for the night.

  • Semi-permanent tented camp (shared facilities) (1 night)

Please note that the start time for your trip varies according to the day of the week, and the flight schedule on the day. Your pick-up will coincide with the arrival of the daily flight from Perth. The flight is not included in the trip price. Please ask your travel agent to book this flight for you or book directly with the airline. Please read the joining point instructions in our trip notes carefully for more information.

Your first walk is an introduction to hiking in Karijini National Park, Kalamina Gorge. Don’t forget your swimmers as you’ll have the chance to cool off in one of Karijini’s pristine swimming holes at the bottom of the gorge. After your swim, drop into the Visitor’s Centre to check out the information about the park and perhaps grab yourself an ice cream. From here, it’s off to Dale’s Gorge for the rest of the afternoon and a swim in Circular Pool and Fern Pool, two of the park’s most beautiful waterholes. With deep red rocks, lush ferns and waterfalls, you’ll feel like you’ve discovered your own private paradise.

  • Karijini National Park - Dales Gorge
  • Karijini National Park - Kalamina Gorge walk
  • Karijini National Park - Karajini Visitor Centre

The Kalamina Gorge track is a Grade 3-4 (moderate - challenging) 3.2km return walk. The path has some eroded sections and loose stones that can be slippery underfoot, and some moderate slopes.

After breakfast, lace up your hiking boots for a hike to Mt Bruce, Western Australia’s second highest peak. This full day ridge walk has it all, from paths that feel like you’re taking a gentle stroll to rock scrambles and climbs so steep there is a chain for support. When you reach the top of the mountain, the 360 degree views of the Karijini Range, its rich red landscape and a bird’s eye look at a working mine site make the occasional challenging section of this walk completely worthwhile.

  • Karijini National Park - Mt Bruce Summit walk

The Mt Bruce Summit Trail is a Grade 5 (difficult) walk. This walk is not for the faint-hearted. Some parts of the trail require high level of fitness and experience. The 9.5km return walk typically takes around 6 hours to complete, including near vertical climbs and scrambles over boulders.

Today’s occasionally challenging walk has four major highlights including two of Karijini National Park’s most famous gorges - Hancock and Weano. The trail to Junction Pool Lookout is relatively flat and has terrific views of Hancock and Joffre Gorges. Your feet will enjoy a cool down as some sections of the walk require wading. Soak up the scenery during a swim in the pristine waters of Kermit’s Pool and Handrail Pool before the return trip to camp for a shower and dinner under the stars.

  • Karijini National Park - Hancock Gorge
  • Karijini National Park - Kermit's Pool
  • Karijini National Park - Weano Recreation Area
  • Karijini National Park - Weano Gorge & Handrail Pool

The Hancock Gorge walk to Kermit's Pool is a Grade 5 (difficult) walk due to some challenging sections, including a series of metal ladders to the gorge floor, wading through cold pools, negotiating rock ledges on the gorge walls and clambering through stony creek beds. When the gorge dramatically narrows, to continue you need a degree of flexibility and nerve by doing what is called the "spider walk" (where you stretch your arms and legs out to straddle the gap and move along the walls). After that, you'll be rewarded with views of Kermit's Pool. The total distance is 1.5km but can take around 90 mins. The Handrail Pool Trail in Weano Gorge is a Grade 3-5 (moderate - difficult) 1.5km return walk taking around 2 hours with climbing involved to get down, including steep cliffs and narrow walking passages, negotiating slippery rocks to get down into the chilly waters.

This morning you will say farewell to Karijini and begin your journey toward the West Coast. The rocky peak of Mt Nameless (Jarndunmunha) dominates the landscape as you drive to Tom Price. Follow the trail, along the ridge line to the top of this significant mountain. The hike has some challenging sections but rewarding views! For those after an alternative to hiking Mt Nameless, there is a mine site tour that leaves from the visitors centre or you may wish to spend the morning relaxing in the township of Tom Price at a local cafe. In the afternoon depart Tom Price for Cheela Plains, a true outback station stay where you will enjoy a delicious meal under the spectacular desert night sky!

The Mt Nameless (Jarndunmunha) Walk Trail is a Grade 4 (challenging) 4.5km return walk taking around 2 hours to complete, requiring some steep climbing and scrambling over rocks.

Grab your favourite tunes or a good book and settle back and rest your legs on the drive from Cheela Plains to Exmouth. There will be time to stop and stretch your legs along the way and have lunch together before you arrive at our campsite at Yardie Creek near Exmouth in time to watch the sun set into the Indian Ocean.

Today's driving time is approximately 6 hours.

Less than 1 in 3 million people have swum with whale sharks and today that person could be you! Book early for the opportunity to go on an (optional) experience of a lifetime and swim with whale sharks, the world’s biggest fish, off Western Australia’s Coral Coast. It’s not unusual for these gentle creatures to grow up to 10 metres in length which makes swimming alongside them an incredible experience. The tours are optional, but highly recommended. Alternative activities are available (such as an optional half-day snorkelling glass bottom boat tour) and can be arranged if you don’t want to join one of the whale shark tours.

  • Exmouth - Swimming with Whale Sharks (Participant) (March to July only) - AUD525
  • Exmouth - Half Day Snorkelling and Coral Viewing Tour with Glass Bottom Boat - AUD165
  • Exmouth - Swimming with Whale Sharks (Observer) (March to July only) - AUD275
  • Exmouth - Off Peak Whale Shark & Ningaloo Reef Tour (August to October only) - AUD445

Swimming with whale sharks is not included in the price of this trip and is an optional activity at your own expense. It is very important that you pre-book any whale shark experiences, as these can sell out far in advance. You are able to book this service with us or your booking agent (subject to availability). This will guarantee you a spot. Please let us know well ahead of time if you would like to add this option to your booking.

If you would rather wait and try to get a better price by booking this locally on the ground with the supplier, you are welcome to, but keep in mind that this is a popular activity and places are limited.

Please also note that whale sharks visit the region between mid-March and mid-September only, so please make sure you schedule your trip accordingly if you would like to include this experience in your trip.

Get set for a day of adventure in Cape Range National Park, with a series of short walks, snorkels and swims along the coast. Highlights include exploring Mandu Mandu Gorge on a walk that follows the route of an ancient riverbed and spotting rock wallabies in Yardi Creek Gorge. From here, you’ll head to Turquoise Bay on Ningaloo Reef, part of the traditional lands of the Baiyungu, Thalanyji and Yinigurdira peoples, for swimming and snorkelling before a group dinner back at Yardi Creek

  • Cape Range National Park - Mandu Mandu Walk
  • Cape Range National Park - Yardie Gorge Trail
  • Ningaloo Marine Park - Turquoise Bay

The Mandu Mandu Walk & Yardie Gorge Trail are both Grade 3 (moderate) walks of 2-3 km each, taking around 2 hours each to complete.

You’ll begin your adventures on dry land walking the Badjirrajirra Trail, a 6.8km walk with gorges cut into the limestone karst and spinifex country offering views that seem to stretch on forever. Compared to some of your walks in Karijini National Park, this trail is relatively easy but it can be extremely hot, so your leader may have to augment today’s itinerary if this is the case. Once you’ve explored Charles Knife Canyon, cool off in Ningaloo’s sparkling waters and go in search of turtles around the small islands known as the Oyster Stacks. After another full day of exploring, it’s back to camp at Yardie Creek for the last night of the trip.

  • Cape Range National Park - Charles Knife Canyon & Badjirrajirra Walk trail

The Badjirrajirra Walk trail from the Thomas Carter Lookout is a Grade 4 (challenging) 6-7km loop walk, taking approximately 3 hours.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Exmouth airport for your flight back to Perth. Alternatively, you are welcome to make your own onward travel arrangements.

You can choose to be dropped off either in the town centre of Exmouth (Ningaloo Centre) at approximately 9.30am or at the airport with an estimated arrival time of approximately 10.15am to 10.30am. If you have an afternoon flight, you can also book an airport transfer coordinated with your flight departure time with Exmouth Bus Charters.

Road trip from Perth to Exmouth via Karijini

Travel & Touring  |  WA Road Trips

By: Tatum Stafford

This epic drive through wildflower country and along popular pockets of WA’s pristine coastline is one for the books.

Home to plenty of epic snorkelling, surfing, wildflower-spotting, hiking and kayaking spots, this adventurous road trip takes you through some of our State’s most iconic tourist destinations, and is sure to impress locals and tourists alike.

Here’s your ultimate 12-day road trip from Perth to Exmouth via Karijini (with plenty of amazing stops in between).

Image of a Karijini road trip itinerary

Day one: Perth to Dalwallinu (263 kilometres)

Starting on Great Northern Highway, travel through the Swan Valley  before stopping in at New Norcia, Australia’s only monastic town. Don’t forget to pick up a treat from the famous Bindoon Bakery on your way there.

After a stroll around New Norcia, head to Dalwallinu, a thriving hub of wildflowers (including the unique wreath flower), the historic No 2 Rabbit Proof Fence, and gorgeous wattle trees that are best explored during the annual Wattle Week festival each September.

Day two: Dalwallinu to Meekatharra (513 kilometres)

Leave Dalwallinu early to reach your first stop of the day; Paynes Find near Yalgoo, an early gold rush settlement named after the first person to discover gold in the area. The Paynes Find Gold Battery and Museum gives some interesting insight about the discovery, and also houses the only working gold battery in WA.

Next, stop at Mount Magnet to stretch your legs. The nearby Heritage Walk is a great way to learn about the old gold mining town's history – or if you’d rather take a scenic drive, the 37-kilometre tourit trail will take you past fascinating rock formations and plenty of wildflowers. Detour to see Aboriginal art site Walga Rock before staying the night in Meekatharra.

Day three: Meekatharra to Karijini National Park (701 kilometres)

Today’s outback drive is long but rewarding. Heading along the Great Northern Highway, stop in at the mining town of Newman to stretch your legs and grab a bite to eat before finishing the next leg to Karijini. Stay overnight at Dales Campground or in the nearby town of Tom Price.

Day four: Karijini National Park

The gorges, pools, waterfalls, springs and views within the Karijini National Park  are nothing short of incredible. To make the most of your day in the park, pop in to the visitor centre for advice on where to start. Dales Gorge, Fortescue Falls, Circular Pool and Hamersley Gorge are popular spots.

Day five: Karijini National Park to Exmouth (612 kilometres)

Leave early for another long day of driving – this time, towards the gorgeous Coral Coast. There aren’t many places to stop on this stretch of road, so we’d suggest packing your own lunch and supplies for the journey.

Once you arrive in Exmouth , you’ll have the gorgeous Ningaloo Reef on your doorstep. It’s the perfect spot for diving, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking or taking a glass-bottom boat tour – and depending on when you visit, you may catch a glimpse of WA’s famous whale sharks which frequent the waters between April and July each year. If you’d rather explore on land, the sweeping Cape Range National Park is just 40 minutes away and jam-packed with four-wheel drive tracks, lookouts and hiking trails.

Day six: Exmouth to Coral Bay (150 kilometres)

The short drive south on Minilya-Exmouth Road brings you to Coral Bay , another hotspot for swimming, kayaking and snorkelling thanks to its abundant marine life and colourful coral. If you’re eager to hop on a tour, there are plenty of fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving charters and operators to choose from.

Day seven: Coral Bay to Carnarvon (238 kilometres)

Continue along the coastline to the town of Carnarvon , renowned for its epic surf spots, fresh tropical produce and the fascinating Quobba Blowholes. Check out the Insta-worthy cactus garden on South River Road or take a dip at Rocky Pool before hitting the hay.

Day eight: Carnarvon to Shark Bay and Monkey Mia (349 kilometres)

Follow the signage along the Shark Bay World Heritage Drive and pick notable Shark Bay  sites to visit on your way to the townsite. Popular stop-offs include the Hamelin Pool stromatolites, and Shell Beach, a 70-kilometre-long beach made of millions of tiny shells.

Refuel at Denham and then head to Monkey Mia, a picturesque spot famous for its friendly dolphins. Hop on a sunset cruise to explore the surrounding waters, or take a local Indigenous cultural tour to cook bush tucker, learn to play the didgeridoo and relax around a campfire.

Day nine: Shark Bay to Kalbarri (401 kilometres)

Before hitting the road, attend the daily, 7:30am dolphin feeding session at the waterfront. From here, continue along the North West Coastal Highway to reach Kalbarri .

In Kalbarri, take your pick from incredible views at the newly built Kalbarri Skywalk, hiking below stunning gorges within the Kalbarri National Park, or strolling along a coastal trail to catch the sunset. Finish the day with a meal of fresh seafood at one of the restaurants in the township.

Day 10: Kalbarri to Geraldton (154 kilometres)

On your way of Kalbarri, make a detour to view the incredible Pink Lake just north of your next stop, Geraldton . The best land-based view of the lake can be found on Port Gregory Road – there's even a parking area so you can walk down to the water’s edge.

Once you reach Geraldton, visit the impressive HMAS Sydney II Memorial for a dose of local history and beautiful views of the town and the ocean. Kitesurfing, wildflower-spotting and surfing are popular pastimes here. Finish the day with a walk down the main strip and a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants and pubs.

Day 11: Geraldton to Cervantes (223 kilometres)

See the fascinating leaning trees of Greenough on Brand Highway on your way to the twin towns of Dongara and Port Denison , where you can feast on delicious fish and chips for lunch. Keep driving south and stop in at Jurien Bay  for a swim, snorkel or splash with the friendly local sea lions. If you’re a fan of wildflowers, the nearby Lesueur National Park is a must-visit in springtime.

Continue south to Cervantes , your last stop along the Coral Coast. Take a walk along the coast, or visit the Lake Thetis thrombolites, living fossils that are more than 3,300 years old, before winding down for the day.

Day 12: Cervantes to Perth (197 kilometres)
