....magnificent OH WONDER show in Chicago!

I go to live original music performances several times a week! For most of my life I have been obsessed with new live original music band bands. I attend all the major music fests, Lollapalooza, Firefly, Summerfest, etc. I have seen many hugely popular bands in small venues before any else has ever heard of them. I am also grabbed by lyrics that I feel like singing along with. Granted, it has happened to me many, many times before, but when I first heard "Technicolour Beat" by OH WONDER on the radio (almost a couple of years ago now) it really grabbed me. One night while working late at the school where I teach, a student came into my room asking who I was listening to and that also reinforced my love for OH WONDER! Soon my ring tone on my phone became "Technicolour Beat." Living in Wisconsin, US, I then wondered how long it would take for OH WONDER from the UK to do a US tour. The minute it was announced I ordered my tickets for the show closest to home, in Chicago, hoping the January weather would cooperate. Lincoln Hall turned out to be a wonderful small intimate venue that I hoped it would be. I got to be up close and was so excited that that my dream of seeing OH WONDER live would now be realized. I now love these performers even more. It was a magnificent show! I do have their white double LP that they sent me autographed and bought another tour shirt. I now get see them again at Firefly Festival in Dover in June and The other big fest in Chicago at the end of July… I hope. So glad I got to see/hear OH WONDER up close in this intimate setting. We made some new friends too - a family from Wisconsin who drove down to Chicago too. The people at Lincoln Hall were very nice. We even ate there before the show. I hope they will also play sometime in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and wish them much success! ....magnificent show!

I was not able to attend the first Oh Wonder concert in Paris, so when I saw that they were playing in February, I immediately bought two places for my girlfriend and I.

Afterwards, I thought to myself : quite a lot of their songs are "calm" and a only a few are rather upbeat, which is usually what you prefer hearing when you go to see a concert ! Here I was thinking, that maybe this was going to be a rather disappointing concert... Oh boy what was I wrong.

At their arrival, they played redesigned versions of their songs, with a full drum kit, a bass and them both playing piano and guitar as well as singing. The bass and drums really helped to bring the whole thing together. They really managed to not only interact with the crowd, which is primordial, but also to change their songs in order for them to fit the live style.

As they only have one full released album, we knew most of the songs' lyrics, and they were constantly playing with that. They were trying to make us sing as loud as we could all the lyrics that we knew and that made the concert just that much more memorable.

Of course they played some slower songs, but every concert has a slower part, and they just afterwards followed with a song that provoked many roars from us, singing to the top of our lungs for as long as we could.

Moreover, the last time they played in Paris was just before the November events that shocked the whole world, and they took time to mention these events. They wanted to show us that even though we could be scared, it should not kill the music and that we should all stay together during these moments and have as much fun as we can. This was a truly beautiful gesture from them.

They finished the concert with some acoustic songs where usually the part is done with a piano, but here they took a guitar and that really brought a new dimension to the following songs.

So, if you're still hesitating to buy a ticket, I can answer your question. Do.

What a great show! These guys are so much fun. I was smiling the entire show. Anthony and Josephine are so talented, happy and adorable. Josephine hardly ever stopped grinning and whipping her ponytail while she played the keyboard. Anthony did amazing on his various guitars. The light show was spectacular. The duo’s unison vocals sounded even better in person. I couldn’t believe that Anthony hit the right notes when he quickly switched from his guitar to a few keys on the keyboard and back. In the breaks in between songs, they told us about the abundance of espresso they had before the show at a local place. It was pretty hilarious how they said it. Not only were the talking breaks funny and adorable, they were also inspirational, like before “All We Do”. At one point we had a sort of “who in the crowd traveled the farther” bingo. One person said they’d come from Milwaukee, to which Josephine responded, “That’s amazing, but you know we just played Milwaukee literally a week ago?”. Josephine’s brother Will came on stage during “Heart Strings” to play the sax! He did a great job, and I bought a T-Shirt from him after. Some of the songs had awesome extended endings and middles that very much impressed the crowd. The opening act Jaymes Young was pretty good, although I don’t think I’ll listen to him again. His voice was great, and the production was interesting at times, but I wasn’t too into his lyrics. The tour bus was parked right outside the venue because our stop was the smallest in the tour. We saw Anthony go in and out of it while we were in line, and he pleasantly smiled and waved at us on his way back into the venue. I had never been to Mr. Smalls before, and I noticed the sound system was very good. The show was one of my favorites. I’d definitely see Oh Wonder again and would rate 4.7/5. Amazing!

Oh Wonder is supremely talented and gave an amazing show. Unfortunately, the venue, North Park Observatory in San Diego was not the best. There were way too many people pushing and shoving to get up front where my daughter and I were. The consequences of the security not trying to take a hold of this was that my daughter became dizzy and nauseous and had a panic attack and vomited, luckily in a bag. The guards were then quick to jump (on top of her I might add) to get her out of there. They took us outside to get her some air and she was fine. I asked if we could go back inside to finish the concert and stand in the back where there was no pushing and shoving and they cited liability issues since she vomited. So she missed the last third of the concert that she had been waiting for ... I understand their concerns however, had they followed their own rules of having a person 25 and older accompany a minor their would not have been all that pushing and shoving to get to the front. To repeat, Oh Wonder and Kevin Garret were phenomenal and definitely deserve a better venue when they come back to San Diego so all can enjoy the show.

The concert experience was amazing and they sang even better live! I was so happy with how they sang, the vibe of the room, and how everyone sang along or swayed side to side. The opening (Jaymes Young) was great and I loved everything about this concert. Especially because I have been a fan since 2014, it was great seeing them and I wish I could have gone to their last concert in San Diego!

Con of venue place (SOMA San Diego) was people were vaping during the concert (keep in mind its an indoor concert room) even though there was a smoke room, many didn't do it there but during the concert.Another tweak was that it was hard to feel the AC in the room so many were sweaty and everyone was rubbing off there sweat all of each other. Couple rude people who tried to stand right in front of you, moving themselves all the way to the front even though they didn't get there before everyone.

I have been looking forward to this show for over a year now. I absolutely love these people and the fact that my best friend and I got to go see them in person and absolutely jam out, single every single word, and enjoy the best night of our lives was so insanely amazing. Thank you, Josephine and Anthony, for just being such amazing people and putting on the best show ever. I will remember last night for the rest of my life and praise you and your music forever. I love you guys so so much and thank you for showing me ultralife because I am living a better life every single day because of you guys. I love you and thank you for a life-changing show.

I recently went to the first show of the 20-7 oh wonder tour at Brooklyn bowl, Las Vegas, NV. They are touring with HONNE and it was such a good experience. Songkick helped extremely by, not only making me aware that they were going on tour, but by finding me a place close to me that they were performing AND providing a way to track it as well as a website to buy the tickets from. Brooklyn bowl is a great arena and the only "issue" I had was a longer line than expected both to get in and scanned and to buy merch at the end. Great music, kind people, and good vibes. Overall an amazing concert.

I am absolutely in love with Oh Wonder's live performance! They had such an amazing and captivating presence on stage. Their vocals were no joke. It sounded so raw and you can tell that they loved what they were doing. Both Josephine and Anthony are blessed with talent and soul and as the audience, you are able to recognize that as soon as they walked on stage. I was also blown away by LANY that opened up for Oh Wonder. The band had so much strength and passion and it was such a pleasure to see them. I would absolutely recommend seeing both of these bands live.

Oh Wonder is an amazing band with an amazing stage presence. They really put their all into their performances. They sound exactly the same in real life, they have high energy the entire time, and they have some of the best stage lighting I have ever seen. They are super sweet, they give inspirational dialogues between songs and they are very charismatic, even when the show was over, I was lucky to meet Anthony (a member of oh wonder) at a local in n out and he was not different at all. 10/10 would recommend going. I will never forget this experience.

If there's one musical group you truly must see before you die, it's Oh Wonder. Josephine and Anthony have this crazy stage energy while performing mellower songs. Almost nobody had a phone out. Everyone was living in the moment. Their NYC show at Terminal 5 was beyond anything I could've hoped for. I definitely recommend that anyone who truly loves music to go see Oh Wonder, and if not that, at least give them a listen. Their music has truly changed my life and overall they are such sweet, genuine people and it shows in their music.

Oh Wonder Tour Dates

English indie duo Oh Wonder will be hitting the road again in 2022 to support their latest album 'No One Else Can Wear Your Crown' . The North American portion of their 22 / 22 Tour takes place in May visiting U.S. cities like Washington DC, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Salt Lake City, Oakland and Los Angeles. Canadian dates are set for Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. Joining the tour in support will be special guest Winona Oak . Also during the spring, the band will be touring extensively across Europe.

Oh Wonder released their third studio album 'No One Else Can Wear Your Crown' on February 7th, 2020 via Island Records. The new album follows up 2017's 'Ultralife' which reached a career-best #76 on the Billboard 200. The following year, they launched a major North American tour with support from Astronomyy . Back in 2016, the London-based duo opened for Halsey during portions of her Badlands Tour . The pair formed in 2014 and consists of members Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West.

Following up on the reveal of their surprise new album, ’22 Break’ , which is set to arrive on 8th October, Oh Wonder have confirmed a huge world tour, including a bunch of UK & Irish dates.

The duo will kick off the run at Southampton’s Guildhall on 7th April 2022, playing Cardiff, Liverpool, Nottingham, Glasgow, Dublin, Leeds, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester and London before finishing up at Norwich UEA on the 22nd.

Nilüfer Yanya announces UK, European and North American 2024 tour

Lutalo, Eliza McLamb and Angélica Garcia will serve as opening support on select dates

Nilüfer Yanya has announced a 2024 UK, European and North American tour set to kick off later this year.

Kicking off on September 28 at the Underground Arts in Philadelphia, Yanya will make her way across the US with stops in major cities such as Washington D.C., New York, Boston, Montreal, Chicago, Nashville and more. The North American leg of the tour will wrap up on October 24 at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.

From there, she will make her way to Europe with shows in Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin and Paris before heading over to the UK for gigs in Brighton, Bristol, London and Nottingham. The tour will wrap up on December 5 at Academy 2 in Manchester.

The announcement of a tour comes after the singer’s release of her new single ‘Like I Say (I Runaway)’ . The song marked the first release from the singer-songwriter since her 2022 album ‘Painless’ .

In  a three-star review of her previous record ,  NME  wrote: “Even if ‘Painless’ occasionally settles into a consistent, thudding groove at times, when Yanya goes full pelt, she’s at her very best.”

Last year saw  Yanya team up with Bombay Bicycle Club on the song ‘Meditate’  from the band’s latest album  ‘My Big Day’ . She was praised by  NME  for adding a “personable touch” to the song.

Oh Wonder is the debut studio album by alt-pop duo Oh Wonder, self-released on 4 September 2015. The album is the accumulation of singles released monthly throughout 2014–2015, in addition to two unreleased songs.

Oh Wonder received mixed to positive reviews from critics. 2024 NFL 'Thursday Night Football' schedule: Ranking matchups, dates, streaming, where to watch

A complete look at this year's thursday night games.

Football is right around the corner. While we always knew that the 2024 season was on the horizon, the NFL unveiling its full regular season schedule on Wednesday night does paint a clearer picture of the action that's ahead. That includes the latest slate of "Thursday Night Football" games.

Amazon Prime Video is entering its third season as the NFL's exclusive partner of the Thursday night window and will enjoy a juicy collection of games, beginning on Sept. 12 (Week 2) when the Buffalo Bills will travel down to Hard Rock Stadium to face their AFC East rival, the Miami Dolphins . Prime Video will also be the home to another Black Friday matchup where the Las Vegas Raiders will head to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs . 

Here's a rundown of each "Thursday Night Football" matchup that is on the docket for 2024 and a ranking of every head-to-head (The Black Friday matchup will be listed in bold ): 

16. Patriots at Jets (Week 3)

We'll get an early look at Aaron Rodgers with the Jets in the Thursday night window. We could also see No. 3 overall pick Drake Maye for New England if he wins the starting job to begin the year. While there will be some intrigue about how the Patriots look in the post-Bill Belichick world, the game itself doesn't seem like it'll be particularly competitive. 

15. Broncos at Saints (Week 7)

Sean Payton returns to New Orleans for the first time since being traded to the Broncos. That alone is worth the price of admission as the head coach will likely be given a hero's welcome in the pregame ceremonies. Similar to the Pats-Jets game, however, the actual football element of this game may leave little to be desired. Neither New Orleans nor Denver is looked at as a highly competitive team in 2024, so this won't get confused with a heavyweight bout. 

14. Seahawks at Bears (Week 17)

Because this game happens so late in the year, it might not carry enough weight to mean much. That said, having Caleb Williams putting the finishing touches on his rookie season will be worth watching, as will this Seattle team that will be wrapping up Year 1 under Mike Macdonald. 

13. Cowboys at Giants (Week 4)

An NFC East rivalry game is always good for some drama. Both of these teams will be wrapping up the first month of the year and it will be fascinating to see what kind of shape they are in. If the Cowboys struggle through the first three weeks, any issues in this head-to-head will only heat the seat under Mike McCarthy. On the flip side, Daniel Jones will be working his way back from a torn ACL and trying to get into a rhythm with first-round receiver Malik Nabers . 

12. Steelers at Browns (Week 12)

This has the makings of an old-fashioned AFC North brawl. Both Pittsburgh and Cleveland have stellar defenses that should be on display for this midseason showdown. With this division being so competitive, this game could have key implications for how the AFC playoff picture ultimately shakes out. While the defenses should garner plenty of attention, Deshaun Watson along with Russell Wilson/Justin Fields will also be key storylines in this matchup.

11. Commanders at Eagles (Week 11)

Might be a little too high on this game, but something about it intrigues me. By this point, Jayden Daniels should be Washington's starting quarterback and starting to flex his potential as the No. 2 overall pick. If Daniels is as-advertised, he's an electric talent that could give Philadelphia's defense problems. Meanwhile, the Eagles have their own dual-threat quarterback in Jalen Hurts , so this game could be a dynamic display from the signal-callers. 

10. Raiders at Chiefs (Week 13, Black Friday)

The Black Friday game is an AFC West head-to-head between the Raiders and Chiefs, which has been a heated rivalry in recent seasons. While Kansas City has stacked up Lombardi Trophies, Las Vegas has always played them hard and the chess match between Patrick Mahomes and Maxx Crosby should make you opt for Cyber Monday. 

9. Browns at Bengals (Week 16)

The AFC North division could very well be on the line in this matchup. Joe Burrow and the Bengals have a Super Bowl-caliber ceiling, so whenever they get into prime time it's appointment viewing. As for the Browns, they have a massive variance this season, which really falls on the shoulder of Deshaun Watson. If he can somehow rekindle his magic from when he was with the Texans, this could be an epic showdown. If he can't, the defense will have to win it for Cleveland (something they are very capable of doing). 

8. Vikings at Rams (Week 8)

Kevin O'Connell vs. Sean McVay is the initial draw here for me. O'Connell worked under McVay before taking the Vikings head coaching job, so we do have a student vs. the master-type of setting on deck in Week 8. As for the game, Minnesota has a strong roster that will sink or swim depending on the play under center. J.J. McCarthy could be starting by this point and, if so, he'll then square up with Matthew Stafford , who'll have Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua at his disposal. 

7. 49ers at Seahawks (Week 6)

The Seahawks were not only swept by the 49ers last season, but they were unable to crack 20 points in either defeat. While that doesn't set the stage for an exciting NFC West game, I think Mike Macdonald could be a difference-maker. As the defensive coordinator for the Ravens last year, he led a unit that stifled the 49ers offense, limiting them to 19 points and forcing Brock Purdy into four interceptions. Of course, the personnel is different, but I wonder if his scheme carries over to continue giving the Niners fits. 

6. Buccaneers at Falcons (Week 3)

I think this is an early-season statement game within the NFC South. Atlanta took over the headlines for their offseason additions, headlined by signing Kirk Cousins . Now, they are looked at as the team to beat in the division, but Tampa Bay could head into Mercedes-Benz Stadium and remind them who the defending NFC South champions are. After all, they did bring back both Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans , so the same cast of characters is largely still on board. Could be a spicy matchup that sets the tone in the division for the rest of the season.

5. Bills vs. Dolphins (Week 2)

The "Thursday Night Football" slate does kick off with a bang in Week 2 with this AFC East rivalry game. Buffalo has won the past four meetings with the Dolphins, which includes a Week 18 victory last year that ousted Miami from winning the division. Tua Tagovailoa's club did start off hot with a 6-2 record to begin the 2023 campaign, so it'll be fascinating to see if they are white hot again in 2024. As for the Bills, how the offense looks without two of its top pass catchers from a season ago in Stefon Diggs (traded to Texans) and Gabe Davis (signed with Jaguars ) will be a worthwhile storyline to follow as well.

4. Texans at Jets (Week 9)

This is a rare non-divisional matchup in the "Thursday Night Football" slate and it's a doozy. The Texans are one of the hottest young teams in the league led by C.J. Stroud , while the Jets will finally get to see what they look like with Aaron Rodgers under center. That quarterback matchup should provide some fireworks and this game has the potential to factor into playoff seeding if both of these teams reach their ceiling in 2024. 

3. Packers at Lions (Week 14)

Everyone was on the Lions bandwagon last season and they rode it to an NFC Championship appearance. While Detroit was expected to take a leap, the Packers making a deep run in the playoffs in Year 1 of Jordan Love came largely out of left field. This year, neither the Lions nor Green Bay will be sneaking up on anyone, especially one another. Where this game lands on the calendar is also juicy as it could help swing the division in favor of either team. A division rivalry game between two historic franchises who could very well be pushing for a deep playoff run in the NFC? Sign me up!

2. Rams at 49ers (Week 15)

Whenever Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan duke it out, it's must-see television. The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a season where they reached the Super Bowl , while the Rams also went deep into the NFC playoffs. The talent is off the charts on both sides of the ball with each team, especially at the skill positions. L.A. has Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, while the Niners have George Kittle , Christian McCaffrey , Deebo Samuel , and Brandon Aiyuk . Oh and Matthew Stafford vs. Brock Purdy isn't too shabby either. 

1. Bengals at Ravens (Week 10)

Joe Burrow vs. Lamar Jackson is about as good as you can get in terms of a quarterback matchup. When right, Burrow is in the discussion for being the best quarterback in the league, while Jackson is coming off his second-career MVP season. Not only do these teams have elite signal-callers, but rosters that are ready to win at a high level right now. This matchup is also the second and final one of the season between them, so this could be a pivotal head-to-head in terms of tiebreakers.

Allison Russell already had a fairly full year set out ahead of her, with the opening slot on a Hozier tour that continues in arenas through the end of September. Now she’s announced she will quickly follow that with a headlining tour of theaters, with Kara Jackson as her opener, beginning a month after she gets off the road from the Hozier outing.

Russell appears on Hozier’s new EP, singing the song “Wildflower & Barley,” a number they perform together each night on his tour. In kind, he appeared on her “Returner” album, lending harmony to the song “Requiem.”

Russell was just named as a nominee for artist of the year at the Americana Honors & Awards, which take place in Nashville in September. (The singer will not be on hand, as she will be in the middle of a three-night stand with Hozier at L.A.’s Forum at the time.) That nomination comes on the heels of this year’s Grammys, where Russell was nominated for four awards and picked up a win for best American roots performance.
