  • 751traciep 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Don't let this driver spoil your holiday! Never had such a bad experience bedore. The boss/driver was very rude and short tempered. He was paid in advance to take us around from 9 am to 5 pm each day. He did not read the itinerary sent ahead to him and randomly changed our plans each day. Lost his cool and raised his voice at us on at least 3 occasions for minor issues like eating at a different place from the one he misdirected us to. He had pointed at a different spot than the one we told him we wanted to try out. Had to remind him that we were in Jeju for a holiday and not to be yelled at by him. Wouldn't want anyone to have their vacation spoilt by such an awful driver who had zero ideas on customer service. Read more Written May 3, 2024

Jeju Taxi Tour: Free & Easy Jeju Island Private Tour

' src=

If you’re looking for the most convenient way to travel around Jeju Island with your own group, take a close look at this guide to Jeju Taxi Tour ! This would be a great option for those who cannot drive but want a private tour to be safe during the pandemic.

Jeju Taxi Tour

The extraordinary formation of volcanic cones, bright yellow canola fields, and the turquoise-blue waters are just some of the reasons to visit Jeju Island that lies far south of the Korean Peninsula. With its rich culture and natural wonders that have uniquely developed away from the mainland, Jeju Island is surely a must-visit destination once in your lifetime.

However, Jeju Island does not offer enough public transportation options compared to major cities in Korea. There is no subway system and the interval between buses is long. It’s not impossible to travel only by public transportation in Jeju Island, but it can be quite time-consuming. To save your time wasted on the roads, renting a car   or joining a tour is highly recommended.

1. Why do so many travelers take taxi tours in Jeju Island?

Jeju Taxi Tour

If you don’t want to drive by yourself, you’ll have to take a tour. Then, here comes the next question. Can I travel within my own group? Is it possible to travel at a slower pace because I don’t want to be rushed?

For those questions, the answer lies in Jeju Taxi Tour . If you’re traveling in your own group (or even a solo) and would like to be free from a fixed timetable, taking a taxi tour will be an excellent choice. A friendly and reliable English-speaking driver will well cater to your needs and take you to the best spots in Jeju Island.

2. What’s so good about Jeju Taxi Tour?

Jeju Taxi Tour

1) Door-to-door pick-up & drop-off

Unlike some other join-in tours that ask you to go to a designated pick-up location, Jeju Taxi Tour will offer a transfer service right at your hotel in Jeju Island or Jeju International Airport. No hassle is needed to get to the meeting location for your tour.

2) Your own Itinerary for 8 hours

Probably, it can be the best merit of the Jeju Taxi Tour . As you will create your own flexible itinerary, you won’t be pushed to follow a fixed schedule. You can stay at your favorite attraction as long as you want and travel at your own pace.

3) Everything inclusive with no hidden fees

Arranging a private tour, those questions may frequently arise: What about our driver’s lunch? Toll? Gas? Parking? Tips? No worries at all. Trazy’s Jeju Taxi Tour covers them all. What you need to prepare is your own pocket money for entrance fees for your preferred attractions, meals, and personal expenses.

4) Knowledgeable local as your driver

Here are some real reviews of the customers who have tried the Jeju Taxi Tour service from Trazy. The reviews tell us how insightful and informative the drivers are about Jeju Island. As the drivers are Jeju locals who have lived on the island throughout the years, they are able to share stories and tips that are not usually told in the guidebooks. See some of our reviews below.

Celina P / United States / Jan 3, 2023 Mr. Shin was an excellent driver. This was our first time in Jeju, so I was a bit worried about how it would work out, but everything went smoothly. He shared some history about the different locations we went to and he was very knowledgeable about Jeju. He was a great tour guide and took beautiful photos of us too. We had an amazing time exploring Jeju with the taxi tour and I would highly recommend both the taxi tour and Mr. Shin!
Xiaohan C / Singapore / Jan 1, 2023 We had Mr Lee for both days of our tour of Jeju (eastern and western), and had a very good time. Mr Lee is effectively trilingual (Korean, English, and Chinese) and communicating with him by WhatsApp was easy. It was good that he was trilingual because my parents primarily speak Chinese whereas I could communicate with him in English. Thanks Mr Lee!
Gretchen A / Philippines / Dec 30, 2022 He was amazing! Perfect for family with kids as you can go on your pace. We also had a fantastic lunch which was recommended by the driver. The car was clean and driving speed is ok (safe driving) I highly recommend getting this especially if you dont speak Korean.

3. How many people would fit in a taxi tour?

jeju rainbow taxi tour

Trazy’s Jeju Taxi Tour can accommodate a solo traveler to a group of 4. If you are in a group of up to 8 people, book Jeju Private Van Tour .

  • Taxi (Sedan) : up to 4 passengers with 3 carry-on sized luggage (about 20~21-inch)
  • Van : up to 8 passengers with 6 carry-on sized luggage (about 20~21-inch)

4. Where to visit by Jeju Taxi Tour

jeju rainbow taxi tour

What comes difficult in arranging a private tour with a custom itinerary is deciding where to see and what to do. Especially if you’re a first-timer, it’ll take more time and effort. Trazy’s Jeju Taxi Tour will solve this hassle as well.  Within the 8-hour tour, you can choose between the east course and the west course, and specifically decide which to visit up to 5 destinations.

How can you plan your itinerary and choose your attractions?

How can you avoid the tourist traps and explore the island like a local?

 Don't worry.

 I have got you covered.

In this Jeju Island Travel Guide, we will share with you itineraries and attractions for local taxi drivers and guides that will suit every type of traveler.

Whether you are traveling solo, as a couple, as a family or as a group of friends, you will find something that will match your preferences, interests and expectations.

 So, let's get started.

Here are the the best itineraries and attractions checked out by our members and recommended to our clients as the belows :

  1. East Course Tour

: This is the most popular and recommended itinerary for first-time visitors to Jeju island. It covers the main highlights and landmarks of the island,

    -. San-Gum-Bu-Ri Crater (discountable)

: It was designated as a natural monument on June 21, 1979.  Depth 100~146m.  Diameter: 544m east-west, 450m north-south.  Outer circumference: 2,067m.  The inner circumference is 756m.  It has a similar appearance to Baeknokdam, a crater lake that developed at the peak around the same time as the creation of Hallasan Mountain.  When you look at Sangumburi from the sky, it seems as if you are seeing an artificially created circular playground in the middle of the vast surrounding woodland.

    -. Cafe Glenco

: The meadows and gardens were designed with the motif of the meadows of the Glencoe region in Scotland.  Since the admission fee is included in the drink price, there is no separate admission fee. There is a large garden where you can enjoy the scent of pink muhly, hydrangea, buckwheat, and rape flowers in each season.

     -. Nok-San-Ro

: Noksan-ro is a rape flower road that is considered a popular spring photo spot in Jeju.  Yellow rape flowers bloom along the road, centered around the roadway, creating a bright spring.  When rape blossoms and cherry blossoms overlap, you can see both cherry blossoms and rape blossoms together in some sections, which is spectacular.

     -. Cafe Bo-Rom-Wat

: Boromwat is a farm located in Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo, and is a Jeju dialect word meaning a windy field.  Since it is called a field, you can see field crops such as green barley and buckwheat, as well as beautiful flowers such as tulips, rape flowers, hydrangeas, and lavender.  In addition to flowers, you can also see various animals such as chickens, cows, sheep, and goats, making it a great place to visit with children.  At the cafe inside Boromwat Farm, you can relax while admiring the plants and drinking tea.

     -. Wol-Jeong Beach

: Woljeong-ri, a village located in the east of Jeju Island, is a village with a lyrical scenery whose name means the moon stays.  The beautiful emerald sea spreads out like a painting, and a bright moon shines above it.  Travelers who visit Woljeongri Beach, which is as beautiful as a landscape painting, enjoy the beach scenery in various ways.  In particular, because the water depth is relatively shallow, it is good for families with children to enjoy water play.  As the beautiful scenery of Woljeong-ri became more and more famous among travelers, the number of people visiting Woljeong-ri's beaches increased, and accordingly, many various restaurants, cafes, and lodging facilities were opened.  Some cafes placed chairs so that people could relax while looking at the sea, and as photos taken of people sitting on these chairs became famous, they also became a photo spot.

     -. Gim-Nyeong Yacht Tour (discountable)

: Gimnyeong Yacht Tour, located at Gimnyeong Port, Gimnyeong-ri, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si, is an experience of cruising the waters of Jeju aboard the luxury yacht “BONA” with top-class interior facilities.  You can experience real sailing, sailing powered solely by the wind, on a yacht operated by a former national yachtsman.  Wild raw fish, seasonal fruits, refreshments, and beverages are also provided.  The area off Gimnyeong is a dolphin habitat and is where dolphins appear most frequently during yacht tours.  Under the sea of Gimnyeong, there is an underwater mountain called ‘Duruksan Mountain.’  Because of the abundance of fish species here, it is also perfect for boat fishing.

-. Manjang Lava Cave (not available currently)

: Manjanggul Cave is a lava cave located in Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju-do, South Korea, and is part of the Geomun Oreum lava tube system.  The total length of the cave system is about 15km, of which Manjanggul Cave is about 7.416km long, making it the 12th longest lava tube in the world.  It is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Natural Monument of Korea.

     -. Gimnyeong M aze P ark (discountable)

: Mazeland is the world's longest stone maze park created with the theme of Jeju Island's Samda, which is wind, water, and women.  The wind maze is planted with 2,709 cypress trees, which are rich in phytoncide, and the women's maze is planted with 2,922 camellia trees and ralandii trees, which bloom red flowers in winter.  The final level of difficulty, the stone maze, has a mysterious atmosphere that wouldn't be out of place even if a magician pops out.

     -. Ha-Do Kayak

        : Enjoyable transparent kayaking ^^

    -. Snoopy Garden (discountable)

: Snoopy Garden House is a place where you can meet honest and unique Peanuts friends and receive messages of sympathy and comfort through their mutual relationships.  Garden House's theme hall is a space where you can connect your daily life with the theme of 'Peanuts, Nature & Life' and the daily stories contained in Peanuts episodes.  As you walk, look, eat, and rest in the five theme halls, Cafe Snoopy, and Peanuts Store, I hope you will receive a message of rest and comfort through the Peanuts characters.

    -. Secret Forest

: Hot-spot to take a picture with beautiful landscapes of fire trees. ^^

     -. Rail Bike (discountable)

: Jeju Rail Bike is one of the leisure tours that allows you to enjoy the scenery while riding a four-wheeled bicycle on a railroad track. Not only can you view the oreums around Gujwa-eup, Udo Island, and Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, but also the ranch. Since it is operated together, you can admire about 100 cows grazing.  It runs every 30 minutes from the top of the hour, and it takes about 35 minutes to complete the trail.  Because it moves forward automatically using an electric motor rather than directly pedaling, you can ride it without any effort.  There is a windbreak so you can ride comfortably even in rainy weather.  In addition to rail bikes, there are plenty of other things to enjoy, including cafes, animal farms, and observatories.  If you climb up to the observatory located on the second floor, you can enjoy the scenery of the rail bike and the ranch with Yongnuni Oreum in the background.  The cafe also sells carrot juice made from ground carrots, a Gujwa specialty.

    -. Myeong Jin Jeon-bok and Jeju O-Nu-I

: Restaurants specialize in fresh or cooked abalone.

     -. Seongsan Sunrise Peak

: Seongsan Ilchulbong brings inspiration and admiration to many people due to its castle-like shape rising between the blue sea, the huge bowl-shaped crater at the top of the peak, and the spectacular view of the sunrise from above.  The scenery combined with Seongsan Ilchulbong is extremely beautiful, but if you learn the secret of the birth and growth of Ilchulbong, you will realize that there are geological values and natural beauty hidden in Ilchulbong that you did not know about until now.

 O ld female diver's Hae-nyeo show will be available at 2:00pm .

    -. Aqua Planet (discountable)

: Aqua Planet Jeju is Asia's largest aquarium (total area of 25,600 m², 18,000 tons).  This is approximately 11 times the size of 63 Sea World and has the world's largest single tank.  The 48,000 exhibits of over 500 species are also among the world's top 10.  Aqua Planet Jeju, which claims to be an 'amusement theme park' where you can enjoy education, culture, and entertainment at the same time, has a very large aquarium 'Jeju Sea' that reproduces the sea in front of Jeju, a 'Marine Science Experience Center', and a 'Large Marine Performance Hall'. You can access a variety of content by operating .

    -. Seop-Ji-Ko-Ji

: On top of the wide and flat Koji Hill, there is a stone beacon station called Hyeopjeondae, which used to light the beacon fire in the old days. It is about 4m high and 9m wide, and is relatively preserved in its original form.  The peak rising in the northeast direction from Yeondang is called Red Oreum, an oreum made of red volcanic ash, called song in Jeju. It evokes another exotic atmosphere that contrasts with.  There are iron stairs up to the lighthouse, so you can easily climb up. If you climb up on the railing of the lighthouse, the amazing coastal scenery of Seopjikoji unfolds right in front of you.

    -. Hae- N yeo Museum

: It displays materials on the ocean, fishing villages, folklore, and fishing, focusing on Jeju's haenyeo culture, which has a history dating back to BC.  All exhibits inside and outside the museum were donated by female divers.  Inside the exhibition hall, an actual haenyeo's house has been donated and relocated, and food culture, parenting, half-urban farming, and Yeongdeung-gut culture are on display in detail.  The approximately 7-minute video is definitely worth watching. The garden in front of the museum was the secondary gathering place for haenyeo who participated in the January 1932 protest, the anti-Japanese women's anti-Japanese movement and the largest women's anti-Japanese movement in Korea.  The Jeju Haenyeo Anti-Japanese Movement Monument was erected there to commemorate the spirit of the women divers' anti-Japanese movement, showing the strength of Jeju women's lives.

     -. Jeju Fork Village

: Jeju Folk Village organizes and exhibits traditional Jeju folk materials using the late Joseon Dynasty, the 1890s, as a reference period.  Jeju's folk culture is properly preserved, and it is a cultural space where you can see our flowers and trees at a glance and compare the similarities and differences between world cultures.

     -. Sunrise Land (discountable)

Ecology, culture, and experiences can all be experienced.

-. Aea- W ol Cafe Street and Han- D am C oast T rail

How do I get from Moscow airports to the city center?

jeju rainbow taxi tour

Moscow with its more than twelve million inhabitants has three international airports. The best known is Sheremetyevo (international abbreviation SVO), which is 35 km northwest of Red Square. Russia’s largest airline Aeroflot has its hub here. The second largest airport, Domodedovo (international abbreviation DME), is about 45 km south-east of the center, from where the S7 airline, which mainly flies within Russia, and numerous international airlines such as Lufthansa take off and land. Finally, there is the third largest airport called Moscow-Wnukovo (abbreviation VKO), which serves numerous low-cost airlines such as Pobeda and is the closest to Moscow city center at just under 30 km.

Aeroexpress to the city center

First the good news – all three airports are easy to reach, both by taxi and by public transport such as train and bus. All three airports are connected to the Moscow city center by means of the so-called Aeroexpress. The Aeroexpress is certainly the most popular and the easiest way for foreigners to get to the center of Moscow. With the striking red signs Aeroexpress, you can find the way to the express trains both at Moscow’s three major airports and at the respective departure stations.

The modern, wifi-equipped trains from the private provider have little in common with the city railway trains from the Russian capital, which still originate from the Soviet era, and run to all three airports from early morning until after midnight. The schedule varies from airport to airport and time of day. As a rule of thumb, trains go to Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo every half an hour during the day to and from the airport, while Wnukowo is only served hourly for much of the day.

The same pricing scheme applies to all three airports: at 300 rubles (around $ 4.50) for a one-way trip, the prices for the trip are significantly more expensive than regular public transport tickets in Moscow, but are still affordable. Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo are each around 35 minutes from the center, and Domodedovo Airport is 45 minutes away.

If you buy the ticket in advance or via the app, there is a 50 ruble discount, further discounts are available if you book a return trip with one ticket, which costs 600 rubles (around $ 8.50). When it comes to value for money, the Aeroexpress trains are certainly the best option as a solo traveler. Especially since bypassing the often treacherous Moscow traffic – in the rush hour a drive by car can take an hour longer than previously estimated.

The biggest disadvantage is that you can of course not go directly to the desired destination within Moscow. However, all three Aeroexpress trains take you to one of the major Moscow train stations, which in turn are connected to the ring line of the Moscow Metro, from where you can quickly reach all corners of the center of Moscow.

Transport connections

  • Sheremetyevo Airport -> Belorussky Vokzal (journey time 35 minutes)
  • Domodedovo -> Paveletsky Vokzal (journey time 45 minutes)
  • Wnukowo -> Kiewsky Vokzal (travel time 35 minutes)

Prices (apply to all three airports in the city and to the airport):

  • One-way ticket at the counter = 300 rubles
  • Online ticket = 300 rubles
  • Round trip = 600 rubles
  • Tickets for 10 trips = 2,300 rubles
  • Ticket Business Class = 800 rubles

In the city or to the airport by taxi app

Alternatively, the transport from and to the airport can also be regulated using the taxi app. Yandex-Taxi and Gett are the two most popular providers in Moscow. At Yandex the flat rate to all three international airports currently costs 1100 rubles ($ 16) and at Gett even only 950 rubles ($ 14) in the cheapest variant, with a small car of the size VW Polo or Ford Focus.

Unless you want to go to the airport with too much luggage or with more than two people, this is certainly the easiest method. Moderate surcharges are required for larger vehicle categories. Without knowledge of Russian, however, it would be much easier to get to the airport by taxi app than from the airport to the city. Due to the confusing location in front of the three major airports, it may be necessary to contact the driver by phone to find the right vehicle. Because the GPS signal of the respective app only gives the location with an accuracy of about ten to fifteen meters – with several lanes running side by side in front of the terminal and dozens of waiting passengers and arriving taxis, it is certainly not always easy to find yourself straight away.

If you are still dependent on the WiFi of the airport building and therefore must not move too far from the entrance, the whole thing could prove to be difficult. From the city to the airport, however, the taxi app without knowledge of Russian proves to be the much easier method. The hotel or AirBnB address can be entered as the pick-up location, and a taxi can usually be ordered within a few minutes.

With the classic taxi into the city

If you want to drive into the city by regular taxi, you have to expect considerable additional costs. The website of Domodedovo airport gives 2,000 rubles as a guide for a trip to the center, i.e. just $ 28. Trips to and from Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo should be a little cheaper. As with the taxi apps, the following also applies here: Especially at rush hour, you should probably prefer the train because Moscow’s streets burst at the seams in the after-hours traffic.

Bus metro combination

For experienced travelers to Russia or visitors with a particularly tight budget, there is still the option of all three airports to get to the nearest metro station by bus or Marshrutka (mini-bus with a fixed route but flexible stops).

From Vnukowo, for example, the 45M minibus line goes to the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station on the red line № 1 of the Moscow Metro, for just 150 rubles. Together with the 62 rubles ticket for the metro, you can get into the city for just over $ 3.

Sheremetyevo Airport can be reached from the Rechnoy Vokzal metro station on Marshrutka line 949 for 80 rubles, or from Planernaya metro station with Marshrutka 948 for 80 rubles ($ 1.1). The minibuses run approximately every 15 minutes. Domodedovo Airport is connected by express bus to the metro station of the same name every half hour. The fare here is 150 rubles (a good 2,1 $). However, complications must be expected with this transport route – the bus drivers in Moscow usually only speak Russian. Taking the metro or minibuses with luggage is not always comfortable. However, you can save money, especially as a solo traveler.
