Everything worked out great

Everything worked out great. I got some of the best seats without even trying, check-in was a breeze or unnecessary thanks to you and I had knowledge of flight updates before people watching the screens did. Tickets were inexpensive compared to other options and carry on baggage policies liberal, often free. One flight you found checked my bags for free

Great for family bonding.

The staffs were all very nice, breakfast was great! We enjoyed the pool until the last minute even at night. My favorite part of our stay here is that they have a common kitchen area where they allow us to grill and cook (just bring all that you need if you want to cook). Although the place is not as big as we expected, but because we loved our first night at Stardust, we decided to cancel the booking we've made in another resort and went back to spend another overnight stay. Thank you Stardust!!!

Booking and payment confirmation problem

Initially I had problems with ordering plane tickets, namely I didn't get confirmation of payment or booking. As a result, I don't know my booking code or transaction PIN. I tried asking the call center and it couldn't continue because I didn't have the PIN code. At that time I was a bit desperate because there was no customer service to contact. Finally the idea came to me to look at social media, and try to DM on Twitter trip.com. Alhamdulillaah, Jingjing and Una responded well. After 72 hours, I finally found the status of my order and trip.com sent proof of payment and booking. Thank you Jingjing and Una.

Loyal customer of 7+ years

I have been using Trip.com since I moved to China in 2017 and have now made it my source of booking since I left in 2022. The customer service is what keeps me coming back as any time I have had an issue I’ve been able to call or chat with someone who has always sorted my issue, therefore I feel I can trust Trip if anything ever goes wrong or even if I need additional help. I love the points system and the ease of use of the app. It’s so convenient to search, book and store my trip information and I really do not use any other site now. Couldn’t recommend it enough and I appreciate the constant positives changes such as now being able to book U.K. rail tickets, buses and trains in Europe as well as being able to use to app in my trips around Asia. I love Trip, honestly!

Hi Bonita Love, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are delighted to know that you find our APP/Website convenient for our customers. Rest assured, we remain committed to maintaining and enhancing this level of service, consistently offering better deals and promotions for our customers' benefit. Your continued support is highly appreciated, and we look forward to serving you again on your next journey with us. Thank you for choosing us as your preferred service provider. Junior Suite at Marriott Madurai

1) Sloppy housekeeping 2) Vanity is too small 3) No bench for putting on shoes. 4) No separate makeup or dressing table 5) Lights went out on the last day of check out - had to use another room for bathroom 6) TV system too complicated 7) No executive lounge for Junior Suite Overall not a value for money. Will be staying at Fotune Pandian next time

Easy and clear baggage allowance details prior to booking

I have used Trip.com in the past, easy to understand and baggage details are well detailed and not hidden when booking flights; even better than official airline booking pages. Customer service was good when I interacted. Good deals most of the time compared to other providers. Mostly, the simple and uncluttered layout of booking pages is amazing and you can also have frequent travellers saved for reuse (this means I dont have to fill in details again and again, less error prone)

I made my booking through Trip.com for Hurghada pickal batros hotel

I made my booking through Trip.com for the first time and it went very well. The booking details were implemented precisely. The hotel in Hurghada is really amazing and the staff is welcoming and well trained. Not to mention that the rate applied in my booking through trip.com was very competitive compared to other websites.

It is ok. The discounts are good. But the app shows too much unnecessary information. It is difficult to navigate to the important part e.g. my booked tickets

Purchased ticket via Trip.com

Purchased ticket via Trip.com. There was no seat selection and did not learn that the option was not available until after paying for it. Would appreciate knowing this upfront before paying for a flight.

Dear ML, We acknowledge your concern and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and assure you that we will check it further and reach out to you directly. Your feedback is of great importance to us, and we are treating it with the utmost seriousness. We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Best regards, Victoria Trip.com

Extra charges not shown

Little information for extra charges on seat allotment for flights and hidden cost for name change that does not give a good impression for a first-time user. This is off-putting for me trying out the app. Spent quite a lot of money on hotels and flight but the experience of using Trip.com just makes me feel like it’s no different from other travel app trying to get money from you.

Simply wanted a Railcard and based on…

Simply wanted a Railcard and based on the top prompted entry on the Money Expert site I chose your firm. Sadly, and from trying to book a train myself direct with the Rail Operator, it would appear the card for which I paid Trip.com, it is only accessible when booking trains and fares via your own site. Given the way I use trains and travel, I wanted a card loaded in the apps on my phone to have the freedom to use which ever carrier I wanted when I wanted. Trust Mr Lewis enjoys spending his Introducer fee.

Dear Ian B, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and assure you that we will get back to you directly. No bad Jyu Jyu around here 😉🤩

A 10/10 unique experience in itself. Perfect for solo female travellers looking for a short, budget-friendly stay without compromising comfort and safety. Well worth the experience if you have the slightest itch to try staying in a capsule. Great service & hospitality, great amenities, great location. 💯🌟 Highly recommended!

Great customer support

There was error in my booking of baggage my trip that required the refund from the airline and Terry from customer support responded to my request very promptly and did help me to get the refund within a few Business days. Thanks for the great service

Cancelled my flight without telling me

Tried to modify flight but they cancelled my original flight before successfully reviewing my change request. Because of this, I was stranded in the city without a flight. The worst part was the app showed “tickets issued” and no one ever reached out to me that my flight was cancelled. One of the worst experience ever. Spoke with customer service and they didn’t seem sorry. They weren’t even willing to cover the full cancellation fee. I’m a Diamond tier member who has spent more than $100,000USD on this app, so extremely disappointed they treat their customers this way. Bring your business elsewhere—HORRIBLE PRODUCT TEAM and customer service

Dear Maggie Siu, We acknowledge your concern and appreciate you bringing it to our notice. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and assure you that we will check it further and get in touch with you directly. Your feedback is of great importance to us, and we are treating it with the utmost seriousness. We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Best regards, Jasmine Trip.com

Trip.com Review - Has Anything Changed in 2024?

Trip.com Review - Has Anything Changed in 2024?

If you're looking for budgeted discounts as a traveler, trip.com might just be the best fit for you when it comes to discounted accommodations. From a wide selection of travel-based packages, this review will help you decide whether you can score epic deals on your next adventure.

trip.com review 2023

If you're scavenging the internet in a travel planning frenzy, you probably feel overwhelmed by what's being offered. There are so many ads, so many websites, and so many options!

Where is one of the only places I browse? Trip.com. This good oldie can help you piece together an epic holiday—it sure has in the past for me.

Top-notch destinations, tedious transportation, and many accommodations are just a few things you must choose between when planning a trip. Sorting through all those travel-related details can feel exhausting, and it can take a lot of work to get everything right.

That's where platforms like Trip.com come in. Coined as a convenient, all-in-one travel platform, you expect to have an easy time planning.

But how can you be sure you're getting the best deals? And do you know if it's even reliable? Is it better than travel deal sites like Priceline , Fareportal , and Momondo ?

Whether you're hunting down a budget-friendly vacation or a month-long backpacking trip, let's find out whether Trip.com should be the go-to platform that'll help you figure out all your trip plans...

Trip.com Logo

What Is Trip.com?

Trip.com offers many travel-related booking services like flights, accommodation, and transport options. It also covers all-in-one packages and deals on attractions and activities for a convenient experience.

With everything all in one place, the platform makes things easy by narrowing down your search time.

Operating all over the globe, including over 200 countries and regions, you can find something tailored to your travel style in the destination you're looking for.

Trip.com boasts 24/7 support, advice, and assistance for any travel-related concerns.

And with a relatively easy-to-use setup, this travel platform is a popular option among the competition. What sets Trip.com apart? Many people say it's the deals and promotions, especially on hotels and flights.

How Did Trip.com Start?

Gone are the days of flipping through the pages of travel books, calling flight companies, and scavenging your purse for your tickets.

Nowadays, platforms like Trip.com make travel planning hassle-free. But who even started it?

Trip.com sprung out from Ctrip Group's urge to provide the global travel community with solutions. Founded in 1999 in Shanghai, China, it's since become a leading travel booking website.

This convenient platform allows customers to enjoy booking and planning services in one spot.

Ctrip Logo

How Does Trip.com Work?

Trip.com's simple layout allows travel enthusiasts to search, compare, and book their desired vacation. You can find bargains on tours, tickets, rental cars, trains, flights, hotels, and packages.

Here's how it works:

  • Search – Take a look at the various options you have. Simply enter a destination, then select your travel dates. After finding what works for you, research flights, activities, and accommodations.
  • Compare – Weigh up the list of options. Don't forget to consider prices, amenities, and other information that could affect your trip.
  • Book – Once you've got the details set in stone, it's time to click confirm! Enter your personal information and payment details at the checkout, and you've booked! After that, check your emails for your flight itinerary, hotel information, or other trip details.
  • Customer support – Don't be afraid to ask for help if you have any doubts. With 24/7 access, you can rely on the customer support team for anything.

Trip.com Booking Page

Does Trip.Com Have a Mobile App?

Yes, Trip.com has a very easy-to-use mobile app. I was using Trip.com when it was still Ctrip, and even back then, the app was super helpful.

I'm someone who doesn't like to do a lot of important tasks on their mobile—I like to feel and look at having all the info on a large desktop screen. That being said, I've booked through the Trip.com app and haven't had any issues.

Why Is Trip.com So Cheap?

Now that you've scanned this popular travel platform, you're probably wondering why the prices are so affordable. Compared to other travel booking websites, the prices don't make sense.

So, why won't Trip.com put a dent in your wallet? Let's find out:

  • Trip.com is part of a massive online travel agency, Ctrip Group, which allows them to score much lower prices. This means it can get customers better discounts on airlines, hotels, car rental companies, etc.
  • The competitive prices can change in real time, according to supply and demand. Known as dynamic pricing, Trip.com offers travel services that adapt to the current market.
  • Thanks to its 20 years in business, Trip.com has managed to form partnerships with airlines, hotels, and other services. This platform can offer exclusive discounts and special deals to its customers. The deals are something that makes it stand out to budget travelers and backpackers.

Is Trip.com Reliable?

So now you know how it works, but is Trip.com legit? Having been in the travel industry for over 2 decades, this travel platform has built up a decent reputation.

With 24/7 customer support, people tend to rave about the convenience of having a solution just a phone call away.

Plus, as it's part of the Ctrip Group, Trip.com is included as one of the biggest online travel agencies. This association ups its credibility and reliability, resulting in higher reviews as a secure booking platform.

Whether it's your first time traveling or you're a newcomer to budget trips, you can get peace of mind knowing that you haven't been ripped off.

Trip.com even uses encryption technology to keep people's information safe and protected. Thanks to these modern services, you don't have to worry about your sensitive information or payment details being leaked.

Trip.com Mobile Application

Cancellation Policy of Trip.com

Trip.com's cancellation policy can vary greatly depending on what you're looking for. There are some flight deals or hotel bookings that you can get free cancellation policy with. That being said, it varies greatly.

I've broken it down into the 3 main booking types and what you can expect if you need to cancel your plans.

  • Flights : When it comes down to flights, some airlines may charge a cancellation fee. In fact, some airlines may even charge up to 100% of the ticket price. So, make sure you review the fine print before booking!
  • Hotels : Depending on the hotel, the cancellation policy can vary significantly. Like flights, some hotels can even take up to 100% of the total price, so don't book without reading the details.
  • Rental cars : In most cases, there's no extra fee for cancellation. The only catch is the time period. Be sure to check out the specific cancellation details for each provider.

The Good and the Bad of Trip.com

  • Comprehensive Services: Trip.com is one of the most comprehensive travel booking sites. From flight tickets and hotel stays to vacation packages and car rentals, you can seamlessly book various travel services. Plus, it often offers a better price compared to similar competitors.
  • User-Friendly Interface: The platform's intuitive design ensures even the most tech-averse users can easily navigate the site, making the booking process simple and straightforward.
  • Round-the-Clock Support: Travel mishaps don't stick to a 9-5 schedule, nor does Trip.com. Its 24/7 customer support means you're never alone, even during those unexpected mid-journey hiccups.
  • Limited Personalization: While Trip.com provides a broad array of options, the depth of personalization sometimes leaves something to be desired. Depending on your travel dates and preferences, you might not always find the travel experience you're hoping for.
  • Availability Issues: Because of how popular the booking system Trip.com is, there are instances when desired accommodations or flights might be booked out.
  • Hidden Costs: The allure of a great deal can sometimes be overshadowed by additional fees. Charges for baggage, service, or other add-ons may not be immediately visible during the booking process, which can result in unexpected costs down the line.

Trip.com Rewards Program

You heard that right... Trip.com has a rewards program. This loyalty program is similar to Expedia's rewards, another considerable competitor in the market.

Calling all new users to Trip.com! If you're looking for more ways to save money while using Trip.com, signing up for the free rewards program is the way. And, depending on how much you book through Trip.com, you can benefit more!

The rewards program has 4 tiers: Silver, gold, platinum, and diamond members. You'll get access to more benefits as you move up in the tiers. And once you sign up, no matter your tier, you'll start earning "Trip Coins" that you can spend like money.

I've attached a screenshot from Trip.com's website that'll give you a better idea of the perks of each tier...

Trip.com rewards program to help booking next flight and other travel bookings

What Are Others Saying?

There are a lot of mixed reviews online. Some are overwhelmingly positive, while some customer reviews are so angry they want to give a 0-star rating. Let's break down the main points people are talking about online.

Many of the people who've left positive feedback talk about receiving acceptable resolutions to problems after speaking with Trip.com's customer service. Other customers say the website is easy to navigate, making the overall experience less stressful!

In contrast, the customers who wrote 1-star reviews contradict the positive reviews about terrible customer service experiences. Others complain about an inconvenience they experienced while on vacation where Trip.com did not help them with a good resolution.

My Personal Experience

I'm giving Trip.com a pretty decent rating—see below. But why? Well, I used it very often while living in China and traveling around Asia. I had minimal issues with it.

As I mentioned above, I really enjoyed my experience using the phone app. It made mobile bookings easy, and I found all my tickets without hassle.

I've booked several types of reservations with Trip.com, including cheap flights between Asian countries, train tickets between mainland Chinese cities, and discount hotels in a couple of Asian cities.

I did run into some hiccups with my bookings but I had an okay time with customer service. Yes, sometimes it was frustrating because the worker's English wasn't stellar, but they got me what I needed. Whether it was a refund or changing my flight tickets for a fee, I could do it by calling its 24/7 customer support line!

That said, I don't use it as often when traveling around North America or Europe!

Is Trip.com Worth It?

I think Trip.com's offerings are valuable enough for most travelers, whether for budget travel or a business trip, that you should browse the site whenever you're trying to plan your upcoming trip.

If you're seeking the convenience of having everything in one travel-related platform, then Trip.com is an excellent option. You can easily compare prices and then book flights, accommodation, tours, and transport in one spot.

Whether you're trying to compare pricing and options ahead of time or you're booking a last-minute trip, Trip.com is definitely one of the online travel agencies that you should look into.

Since Trip.com provides discounted prices on travel services, it's a fantastic option for budget travelers and backpackers. Even if you don't end up booking through Trip.com, you can feel good about your purchase knowing you've checked a variety of reliable travel booking sites.

On the other hand, who should skip out on using Trip.com? If you're looking for a personalized trip with specific details, you might not find what you're looking for.

My only words of caution are to make sure that you start searching early to avoid availability issues and check the details for any additional fees!

My Rating: 3.9/5

  • Budget-friendly, competitive prices
  • Easy-to-use
  • Wide variety of services
  • 24/7 customer support
  • Encryption technology
  • Restricted personalization
  • Varied customer support quality
  • Limited availability on dates, deals, tours, etc.
  • Extra costs and fees

They also have a mobile application that features all the languages mentioned above plus Vietnamese and Filipino. Furthermore, there are localized English versions available for Australia, Singapore, the United States and Hong Kong.

Trip.com uses SSL encryption to protect your personal and financial information to ensure online safety for its customers. Its headquarters are in Singapore. Encryption is always important when you are transferring vital information you wouldn’t want to get on the wrong hands. You even see it on sites like  InvestorPlace ,  Brownstone Research ,  Banyan Hill , and pretty much any site that takes your financial information.

Who founded Trip.com?

Trip.com is headed by the Trip group which was originally founded by James Liang, Neil Shen, Min Fan and Qi Ji in June 1999.

Trip.com was originally a domain that was first purchased in 1996 by Trip Software Systems, and later sold to TheTrip.com founder Antoine Toffa in 1998. In 1999, Galileo International purchased a 19% stake in Toffa’s Trip.com and in 2000, acquired the remaining stake of Trip.com for $214.4 million.

Cendant acquired Galileo and combined Trip.com with another acquisition, CheapTickets, to create Trip Network Inc in 2001. In 2003, Cendant stopped operating the Trip.com domain.

Orbitz Worldwide, a company acquired by Cendant in 2004 and later split into a separate publicly traded entity, resumed use Trip.com in 2009. They then later stopped operation of the website in 2013.

Expedia acquired Orbitz Worldwide in 2015 then proceeded to inherit the Trip.com domain. A travel booking and research company founded by entrepreneurs Travis Katz and Ori Zaltzman in 2010 known as Gogobot acquired the Trip.com brand from Expedia and rebranded it as Trip.com.

Eventually the Trip Group, also known as Ctrip, acquired Trip.com and repositioned the company as a global online travel agency in 2017.

How does Trip.com work?

Trip.com helps you find the best deals through its website when planning your travels. Their website is interactive and offers you a variety of options to choose from when deciding on your desired destination.

The agency works as an intermediary between you, the traveler, and the travel providers like hotels, airlines, car rentals and many more. Once you sign in to the website, you can input your destination, departure date or check-in date, if it is a round trip flight or one way, number of nights, rooms and guests, and any keywords into the search bar. Furthermore, you can specify your preferred hotel amenities, such as “WIFI”, “pool”, ”free breakfast.”

When you click the search button shown in the image above, a results list will appear. From there, there is a filter available that sorts your results by price, rating or Trip.com user reviews.

Once you have found the hotel or flight you’re interested in, clicking on the “Details” button will give more information so you can learn more about it. The information is mostly on pricing, amenities and user reviews.

If you are satisfied with the hotel or flight and want to book it, click on the “Book Now” button. From there, you’ll be taken to a page where you can enter your contact and payment information including your credit card details. However, you must be aware of the hidden charges by your credit company for the charges.

When you are done booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Trip.com with your booking number and details. Be sure to save this email, star it or print it out, as you’ll need your booking details when checking in to your hotel or flight.

Flexibility with your travel dates and destination will give you a better chance of finding low prices. Before making a reservation, ensure the hotel you are considering has the amenities you need. And finally, confirm your booking from the hotel as soon as you book and before arriving at the property. This is to avoid being stranded due to lack of rooms as the hotel you’re booked with might not receive your booking confirmation from Trip.com.

Trip.com also has a mobile app that gives you access to their booking services through your phone or tablet. It allows you to search for hotels and flights, compare prices, read reviews and much more. You can keep track of your booking reference and receive notifications about changes or updates to your flight ticket, hotel room or itinerary.

Keep in mind that there are some risks involved in booking with a travel agency instead of booking directly as some information may be lost through miscommunications which leads to inconvenience for you, the customer.

How much does it cost to join Trip.com?

Signing up for the Trip.com services is free of charge. However you will be required to input your credit card details which may lead to hidden charges from your credit card company.

The agency also provides a loyalty plan called Trip Coins. Subscribing to it gives you access to discounts, depending on your travel habits. Earning Trip coins that give you discounted rates is by booking hotels, flights and activities through the site often.

How to join Trip.com

To sign up for Trip.com services, all you have to do is click the ‘sign up’ button on the far right of their webpage. You may also sign in through the app.

You will see a pop up that will prompt you to enter your email address.

Once you have entered your email address, you will be prompted to create a password for your new account before the registration is complete.

You can also choose to sign in with your Facebook, google or twitter account.

Trip.com Reviews

Trip.com has a 3.7 out of 5 star rating on TrustPilot with a mixture of positive and negative reviews (from one star reviews to 5 star reviews) across the board. Below is what some people have to say:

The price of tickets is cheap compared to others. The booking system is really simple and easy. There are areas of improvement in customer service. I called to clarify my doubts about tickets because I used trip.com the first time. The customer service representative was in rush to answer my question, but instead of clarification I was been offered to cancel my bookings and asked for a refund. I was ready to cancel but I used the app and resolved my doubts by using the app. My suggestion to everyone please make sure you go through the terms and conditions first before you finalize your booking. Once you made payment there will be no help available. Thank you -Bijendra
I searched a ticket price in skyscanner, the best price was in trip.com. Then, I tried to purchase the ticket directly on the airline website but the price was a lot more expensive. It made me doubt, so I researched trip.com and had really good reviews. I went ahead and purchase the ticket through their website and I must say the communication was excellent. It says the ticket from the airline should arrive within 2 hours but I got it in less than 30 mins. I downloaded the app and all my ticket info was already captured there. Very good experience. -Mel
Complaint The airline cancelled my flight while I was in the plane and I received an official letter from the airline confirming the flight cancellation. By law I should be reimbursed in a week by the agent (trip.com), however, it has been 5 months and trip.com is not returning my money and is saying that the airline is not confirming the flight cancellation (even though I talked with the airline and have an official letter from them). They are scammers that steal your money – you should avoid this company. I am now giving all the documents to my lawyer Julia Olivson
First time made a bookjng thu Trip.com. am not tech savvy so fumbled n unprepared with details. our experience with Trip.com has been the worst and took a long time to solve our issue, dealing a good blow to our mental state, However, Miss Kimberly took the initiative to assist us with the best of her abilities. She handled our frustrations with a pleasing manner and managed to pull our situation through. She is excellent with her job both writing and on voice calls. She offered us options as well to manage the situation, although there may be gaps such as detailed explanations over emails, but she is quite skilled in explaning it over the Phone. She updates us quite frequently as well if there are new updates. Overall, I am quite thankful with her assistance and to congratulate her for a Job well done. -Camille
Hi. The short form is that Trip.com was bought by a mainland Chinese company, so buyer beware of all that implies, as they operate on different principles than a Western business. For instance, as soon as you click on the button, there is NO REFUND or CHANGE policy on any air ticket, even though there is no note or mention of that at any point on their site. Since it was a Tripadvisor flight search that brought me to this site, I expected it to be more legitimate, and would ask TripAdvisor if they have any influence, to try and conform to higher standards expected of other flight sites. For those that want to read the long form the following is my experience with them. I bought a couple of air tickets Calgary-Shanghai, through Trip.com. They showed up on the Tripadvisor flight search, and were twenty five percent lower than anyone else. I immediately bought one ticket, really wanting two tickets but it could have been my mistake. Then trying to buy a second ticket (for my wife), did the everything the same as before but at the very end was told it was sold out. So I went online chat with them, and asked them, asking for a second ticket or a refund. The rep sent me a weblink, the same one I booked my first ticket with. I told him it was the same and said sold out at the end, but I tried to buy the second ticket as before on this link, and did get a second ticket for my wife. By this time the online rep had hung up the chat. Upon closer inspection, however, the second air ticket for my wife was for a different departure time on the same day from Calgary, and meant she was on a different flight to Shanghai from San Francisco, arriving 12 hours later on a different day (the return flight was the same). So I immediately went back online chat, and asked the rep to change both to the same flight or cancel both tickets, and it was so soon that the flight booking didn’t even show up on her computer. When it eventually showed up, she said that I couldn’t cancel without paying 90% of the ticket price for some booking fee. She said sorry this was the airlines booking policy. I asked to just change the departure flight of either ticket to match the other, or else refund them both, that airlines normally had a 24 refund policy. She said no. I said could you please ask a supervisor. The following is the supervisor’s return e-mail: Dear VICTOR (Account: D254041****), I tried to call you but was transferred to voice mail. So I am writing to you about the questions you mentioned on chat regarding Flight Booking. 5374325469. First of all, you mentioned Mark gave you the link which caused the second flight . I checked the link and the link he sent to you is the online search page on which many flight packages are listed. This link does not indicate only one specific flight . And after the link was sent to you , you answered,” Yes I did all the fill in the blanks up till the end when it said flight sold out.” When Mark wanted more details from you, there was no reply from you. So the window was closed. And When you book the ticket online, the flight details are listed on each page. Secondly, when you started chat with Victoria, the ticket was not issued but was paid successfully. The booking status was in processing. When Victoria was confirming the booking details with you for booking security, the ticket was issued successfully. Please kindly noted that even if the ticket is not issued after we verify the booking detail with you, we apply the free cancellation but cannot guarantee. So now according to your booking policy, this ticket is non-refundable and unchangeable. Now Booking 5374325469 and 5374077873 are still kept. If you have question, welcome to contact us. Best regards, Ann I didn’t quite know what to make of that. So I contacted both Air Canada and United Airlines by phone, the airlines on the tickets, and BOTH SAID THEY HAVE A 24 HOUR FULL CANCELLATION POLICY, but that the foreign booking companies formed their own rules. Very lucky for me, the United Airlines phone representative (Connie, and a big thank you if you read this), changed the departure flight of my wife to match my own. I am an overseas Chinese, but so glad to be living in North America. Thanks, again, to United Airlines. -J Fung

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is trip.com reliable.

The agency is a part of the Trip.com Group, a publicly traded Chinese company and one of the world’s leading providers of travel services. Furthermore, Trip.com has been in business for over 20 years and has earned a solid reputation for customer satisfaction.

Why is trip.com cheap?

Trip.com is one of the leading travel websites as they consistently offer low prices on airfare, hotels and more. This is due to their low overhead costs. They sell directly to consumers online, thus avoiding the high costs associated with traditional travel agencies on the high street.

Furthermore, they pass some of the commission they receive from hotels and airlines on to their customers in the form of lower prices, meaning that you can often find even better deals on Trip.com than anywhere else.

Is it possible to cancel or change flights made through trip.com?

If you booked flights through Trip.com, things are going to be complicated because of the third party involvement. Having an intermediary can complicate issues because airlines will tell you to coordinate any problems through Trip.com rather than offering you direct assistance.

Moreover, the travel provider gives high priority to customers who booked directly with them rather than those who booked through Trip.com. This is because they make more profits from direct sales over those made through Trip.com since they won’t have to pay any fees.

It is also much easier for them to manage the customers who booked directly rather than those who booked through online travel agencies like Trip.com, Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia etc.

For example, hotel rooms may end up overbooked because the hotel did not receive the booking details and confirmation from the agency. This leads to a guest being stranded in a strange city without any room availability in the hotel, despite making an advance booking with them through Trip.com.

How can you contact trip.com?

To contact trip.com in case of an issue, google “trip.com contact number” followed by your country, and you should be able to find their contact number. Unfortunately, there have been reports of poor customer service from the agency where the customers are not provided with solutions or worse, they fail to reach the Trip.com team. This unsatisfactory service has brought about an amount of distrust of the agency by potential customers.

However, they seem to have offered further assistance to most of the people who have left bad reviews meaning that they are working on improving their services.

How can I get the most out of trip.com?

To get the most out of Trip.com, there are a couple of tips I would recommend you follow. These include:

  • Planning ahead in order to land better deals.
  • Thoroughly research your travel destination to ensure that it is safe and free of scams and violent political issues.
  • Read the reviews of the hotel or airline or travel provider you intend to use in order to get an idea of the experience of other travelers
  • Be aware of the refund policies while booking to avoid cases of unsuccessful cancellations or a refund request later on.
  • Compare the prices of the hotel or flight you are interested in with other websites to ensure that you are getting the best deals.
  • Sign up for the Trip.com loyalty program known as Trip Coins. To sign up is free and it gives you access to discounts, depending on your travel habits. To add to that, you can earn Trip Coins by booking hotels, flights and activities through the site. Therefore, if you book hotel rooms regularly, you get extra discounts on your next journey.
  • Using their mobile app makes booking easier as the app allows you to search for hotels and flights, compare prices, read reviews and more. Furthermore, you can use the app to keep track of your booking reference and receive notifications about changes or updates to your itinerary.
  • Once Trip.com sends you a confirmation email outlining the details of your stay, what’s included in your package, cancellation and refund policies together with other important information. Be sure to print out your itinerary before you begin your vacation to avoid any problems.

Pros of Trip.com

They offer good deals.

Trip.com is famous for all the good deals and discounted rates that they offer for travel. The prices are fair and this is one of their main selling points.

Lessen the load of travel planning

Having an agency do all the tedious work of searching and booking for flights can be especially convenient. Furthermore, it’s cheaper!

Have filters that provide specifics

The search option is quite convenient as you can narrow it down to specific details like price, reviews, amenities and the number of guests.

Free sign up

Signing up to be a Trip.com member is free of charge and the registration process is quite simple

Cons of Trip.com

There is a lot of risk involved in booking with a travel agency as there might be some miscommunication that may eventually inconvenience you. Many have found themselves stranded due to overbooking of rooms or lack of confirmation of a plane ticket.

It has many bad reviews

There have been a number of negative reviews about Trip.com due to unsatisfactory customer service. The reviews are quite discouraging and the agency is not even rated on the better business bureau.

Poor customer service has been reported by some clients

Many of the one star reviews have been about the poor customer service offered whenever they had an issue. Many have apparently had an unpleasant experience with the channels provided and their chat bot feature is not as effective

Trip.com is a legit company that offers travel related services. They offer discounted rates and act as intermediary between you and travel providers.

However, this can be a risky channel to take due to high chances of facing inconveniences. Though it may be a cheaper channel, you might end up stranded due to lack of proper communication between the agency and your travel provider.

Trip.com appears to work best for people who are new to traveling and are not conversant with the places they are traveling to. If you know the place you are going to, it makes more sense to do your bookings directly if you find that cheaper or more convenient.

Travel + Leisure Readers' 15 Favorite Tour Operators of 2023

The right tour operators can make or break a trip. These specialists came out on top in our annual "World’s Best Awards" survey for 2023 thanks to insider knowledge and personalized service.

How Voting Works

What readers loved, the full list.

While we travel to see the sights, what we really take home with us are the experiences. And finding the right tour operator — one that’s able to meld insider knowledge about a destination with the best ways to take it in — can make or break a trip. But when the right combination does come along, it can be pure magic, so it’s no wonder that the last year has seen group travel on the rise .

Every year for our World's Best Awards survey, T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe — to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Nearly 165,000 T+L readers completed the 2023 survey, an increase of nearly 25 percent over pre-pandemic voting levels. A total of more than 685,000 votes were cast across over 8,500 unique properties (hotels, cities, cruise lines, etc.).

Tour operators and safari outfitters were specifically rated on the criteria below:

  • Staff/guides
  • Itineraries/destinations
  • Accommodations

For each characteristic, respondents could choose a rating of excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor. The final scores are averages of these responses.

With nine of the companies returning from last year’s list , one major trend that stands out is the focus on a region, like with this year’s No. 1 pick, ATJ, which focuses on luxury travel, ranging from bespoke private to small group itineraries, in Austrasia. Also destination experts are Inside Japan Tours (No. 10), who offer themed trips, from honeymoons to diving, around the island nation, and Vagabond Tours of Ireland (No. 12), which makes its debut on the list, standing out for its B Corporation status, as it guides travelers around the Emerald Isle in their choice of style, either relaxed and culture-focused or active and adventurous.

Also notable are the operators who go a step beyond, like two returning favorites: Artisans of Leisure (returning as No. 3) has been called “top notch”; one reader said that “no other tour operator comes close in terms of knowing the destinations [and] understanding what we want and executing our trip flawlessly.” Black Tomato (dropping from last year’s No. 4 to a still respectable No. 6) manages to both fulfill curiosity and allay FOMO on its adventures globally.

But more than anything, it’s loyalty that shows what a strong tour operator is made of, and readers often raved about return visits with a particular company. One, for instance, shared that after 25 journeys, Du Vine Cycling + Adventure Co. (No. 2) stands out among them all. “The best cycling trips I’ve been on,” they said. “Great staff, accommodations, and first class all the way.” And that’s the winning combo for a tour company — leaving travelers with that passion for exploring the world through their eyes. See the complete list of top 15 tour operators, according to T+L readers, below.

Courtesy of ATJ

Formerly known as Asia Transpacific Journeys, ATJ made the list in 2011, 2017, and 2018, and it now leapfrogs back in triumphantly, notching the No. 1 spot. Offering tours in countries like Australia, Bhutan, Japan, Laos, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, Vietnam, and Taiwan, the company specializes in custom itineraries and private group trips. But what travelers rave about is its band of extremely helpful customer service reps who are “responsive and personable.” They added, “I can call and speak with a live person immediately.” Customers tend to be loyal, but so are the agents: “I have used the same agent and she always remembers what we like and any special needs we have.”

I have used the same agent and she always remembers what we like and any special needs we have.

Planning a family trip? Here are the top 10 most visited Texas state parks in 2023

Summer is officially in full swing, which means outdoor activities are back in season ― including visiting state parks.

The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department currently owns or leases over 640,000 acres of land which constitute 89 state parks, historic sites and natural areas, according to its website .

Using visitor data collected by the TPWD, here's a list of the state's top 10 most visited parks in 2023.

No. 10: Inks Lake State Park

Located in Burnet County next to Inks Lake on the Colorado River, Inks Lake State Park offers a variety of activities , including camping, backpacking, geocaching, waterskiing, scuba diving and more. The self-proclaimed "Hill Country gem" is an hour northwest of Austin.

The TPWD estimates nearly 228,000 people visited Inks Lake State Park last year. The park is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and adult entrance fees are $7. Children 12 and under get in free.

No. 9: Dinosaur Valley State Park

Near Glen Rose in Somervell County, Dinosaur Valley State Park is a short drive from Fort Worth. As its name implies, its mud features dinosaur footprints from when the area sat on the edge of an ancient ocean — now located in the bed of the Paluxy River.

In 2023, Dinosaur Valley State Park welcomed just under 247,000 visitors. Gates are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and adult entrance fees are $8. Children 12 and under get in free. However, the park's website reports it often reaches full capacity and recommends making reservations for both camping and day use.

No. 8: Brazos Bend State Park

Spanning 4,897 acres in Fort Bend County, Brazos Bend State Park is 45 minutes from downtown Houston. Known as " nature lover's paradise ," the park includes 37 miles of trails, some of which are wheelchair-accessible. In addition to hiking, visitors can fish, camp, bike and go horseback riding.

Brazos Bend is also home to the George Observatory, part of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The observatory is open year-round on Saturday nights, weather permitting. Tickets must be purchased online, and all visitors must also have a day pass to the park.

Last year, just over 254,000 people visited Brazos Bend State Park. It is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Adult entrance fees are $7 per day, and children 12 and under get in free. Due to frequently operating at full capacity, those who wish to visit the park are encouraged to reserve passes online for camping and day use.

No. 7: Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

Enchanted Rock is a pink granite mountain in the Llano Uplift between Fredericksburg and Llano. With views of the Hill Country , visitors can hike, camp, rock climb and stargaze. Bikes are not allowed on the trails. Pets must stay in the designated day-use picnic areas, campgrounds and on the Loop Trail; they are not permitted on any other trail.

Nearly 295,000 people visited Enchanted Rock in 2023. Gates are open from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. With the exception of the Loop Trail, trails are open from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. Daily adult entrance fees are $8, and children 12 and under get in free.

No. 6: McKinney Falls State Park

In Travis County and just 13 miles from Austin, McKinney Falls State Park offers " rugged beauty ." Visitors may camp, hike, mountain or road bike and go bouldering, as well as fish and swim in Onion Creek. The site has 71 campsites, including six recently remodeled cabins and a primitive youth camping area.

McKinney Falls State Park welcomed just under 310,000 visitors in 2023. The park is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Adult entrance fees are $6 per day, and children under 12 get in free. Due to high capacity for camping and day use, visitors are encouraged to reserve passes online.

No. 5: Ray Roberts Lake State Park Isle du Bois

Along the east border of Ray Roberts Lake in Denton County sits Ray Roberts Lake State Park Isle du Bois. One of the nine units that make up Ray Roberts Lake State Park, Isle de Bois offers recreation and overnight facilities, including the Lone Star Lodge and Marina. Visitors can enjoy a multitude of activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, geocaching, rollerblading, swimming and fishing. Isle du Bois also has an all-terrain wheelchair that visitors may reserve and use within the park.

Around 311,000 people visited Isle du Bois in 2023. The park opens daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Adult entrance fees are $7 per day, and children 12 and under get in free. Due to the high capacity for camping and day use, visitors are encouraged to reserve passes online.

No. 4: Cedar Hill State Park

A short drive from the DFW Metroplex will land visitors in the " urban oasis " of Cedar Hill State Park. Sitting on 1,826 acres, the park offers access to Joe Pool Lake and tours of an old Texas farm. Visitors may hike, camp, bike, picnic, geocache and nature watch. Fishing, swimming, boating and paddling is also welcome on the lake. The site's 350 campsites are near restrooms with hot showers, and some are ADA-accessible.

About 338,000 visitors enjoyed Cedar Hill State Park in 2023. The park opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. Adult day-use entrance fees are $7, and overnight fees are $5 per day. Children 12 and under get in free. The park recommends reserving passes online for both day use and camping, as the site tends to reach capacity.

No. 3: Ray Roberts Lake State Park Sanger Unit

On the west border of Ray Roberts Lake in Denton County, opposite Isle du Bois, is the Ray Roberts Lake Marina Sanger Unit. One of the nine units that make up Ray Roberts Lake State Park, the Sanger Unit offers a full-service marina with boat storage and a boat repair shop. Visitors may buy or rent boats, rent boat slips, and buy fuel, fishing licenses, bait, groceries and deli snacks.

The state park's Sanger Unit welcomed just under 341,000 visitors in 2023. The park opens daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Adult entrance fees are $7 per day, and children 12 and under get in free. Visitors are encouraged to reserve passes online, due to high capacity for camping and day use.

No. 2: Palo Duro Canyon State Park

Spanning three counties is the " Grand Canyon of Texas ," the Palo Duro Canyon. The state park bearing the same name is found in Armstrong County, in the heart of the Texas Panhandle. The second-largest canyon in the country offers "rugged beauty and colorful history," according to its website.

The state park has activities for all, such as " glamping ," hiking, horseback riding, bird watching and more. Trails exceed 30 miles combined, including 1,500 acres reserved for equestrian trails. Throughout the summer, TEXAS Outdoor Musical runs from Tuesday through Sunday at the Pioneer Amphitheater. The family-friendly show focuses on the lives of early settlers and features singing, dancing, fireworks and Texas humor.

More than 374,000 people visited Palo Duro Canyon State Park in 2023. The gates are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Adult entrance fees are $8 per day, and children 12 and under get in free. The park is busy during the summer months and especially during play season, so visitors are encouraged to reserve passes online for both day use and camping.

No. 1: Garner State Park

Located in Uvalde County and bordered by the Frio River, Garner State Park was the most visited Texas state park in 2023, welcoming a staggering 475,898 visitors. Boasting 2.9 miles of the Frio River and 1,774 acres of Hill Country , Garner offers a variety of activities both on and off the water. Visitors may enjoy the river on an inner tube or paddle boat, hike 16 miles of scenic trails, fish, play miniature golf, camp and more.

For those camping in Garner overnight, the park has screened shelters, cabins and campsites.

Garner also upholds a tradition dating back to the 1940s: On summer evenings, visitors gather at the park's concession building for jukebox dances.

The park is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and adult entrance fees are $8. Children 12 and under get in free.

Garner State Park is in the thick of its busy season, which stretches from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, according to its website. Because it often reaches full capacity during summer months, park management recommends making reservations for both camping and day use.

Is RV Trip Wizard Still the Best RV Trip Planner in 2023?

By: Author The Drivin' & Vibin' Team

Posted on February 14, 2023

If you’ve planned any number of road trips in the past, you know how stressful it can be to find campgrounds, attractions, and truck stops along your route. A simple Google search isn’t always effective. Plus, you want to make sure you’re not traveling on narrow, windy, backcountry roads to get to your destination. Many RVers have used RV Trip Wizard for years, and it remains one of the top trip-planning tools on the market.

Let’s take a closer look at this feature of the RV Life network so you can decide if it’s the best RV trip planner in 2023.

trip.com review 2023

What Is RV Trip Wizard?

Many travelers use RV Trip Wizard to help plan routes. It features a visual trip planner so you can see every stop on your journey, campgrounds, fuel stations, rest areas, and more. Users can also input specific details about their RV to ensure that the route they’re taking is safe for the size of their rig.

In addition to being a planning tool, RV Trip Wizard also estimates the cost of your trip with fuel and campground fees. Finally, users can input daily drive times and distances to keep themselves from getting exhausted. The app will alert you once you’ve reached your daily limit so you can figure out where to stop for the night.

Is RV Life and RV Trip Wizard the Same?

RV Trip Wizard is part of the RV Life network. RV Life offers a maintenance tracker and an RV-safe GPS system along with the trip planning tool. These tools are only available to RV Life Pro members.

The free basic features give users access to campground reviews, an RV forum, and RV classifieds. RV Life Pro costs $59 per year and provides access to the additional tools mentioned.

Pro Tip: Make planning your trip easy with these tips on How to Use RV Trip Wizard to Revamp Your Travels .

RV Trip Wizard home page

Does RV Trip Wizard Have a GPS?

The RV Life app provides Pro members access to an RV-safe GPS system. RV Life Trip Wizard integrates your trip into the app, so you have both the itinerary and the directions in one location. An RV-safe GPS is very important for RVers. Users input how tall, heavy, and long their RV is, and the GPS tool finds safe routes, so drivers don’t have to worry about low clearances or weight limits on bridges.

In addition, if you’re carrying propane on board, the app will alert you to upcoming tunnels and other places ahead that will require you to turn off the propane.

How Does RV Trip Wizard Work?

RV Trip Wizard is compatible with most computers, tablets, and smartphones. This easy-to-use system allows users to view campground reviews, access discount clubs, see upcoming road hazards, and more. New users can take advantage of the seven-day free trial before committing to the yearly subscription fee of $59 for RV Life Pro.

Users input their preferences in the trip planning tool, such as Good Sam campgrounds or free campsites. Then you set your start and end locations. Then, add campgrounds, restaurants, rest stops, and more to the route. Once you plan a trip using the RV Trip Wizard, you can export your route to Google maps or a GPS device.

There are many pros to using RV Trip Wizard, like saving favorite locations, creating personalized and safe routes, and tracking expenses. The additional access to the RV-safe GPS is another huge advantage, and users can easily integrate it into Apple CarPlay, too.

But one of the biggest cons to using RV Trip Wizard is that it’s a web-based program. Users can see trips on the app but can’t edit them. It can also take a while to learn the system. With so many features, there’s a learning curve for all new users.

Woman and son in front of RV while camping

What Are Other RV Trip Planner Apps?

Another popular RV trip-planning app is Roadtrippers Plus , which is part of the Togo RV family. Unlike RV Trip Wizard, users can view and edit trips via the app. Another distinction is that you can collaborate with other RVers through the app. As long as other travelers have the free version of Roadtrippers, you can build an itinerary with others.

The Dyrt Pro is another tool many RVers use. One of the biggest pros to using this app is the ability to view free camping on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) , U.S. Forest Service , and National Park Service (NPS) managed lands. The map has layers to show RVers these locations that set it apart from RV Trip Wizard and Roadtrippers Plus.

This tool also provides campgrounds reviews in real-time so users can make educated decisions about where to stay based on other RVers’ experiences.

Pro Tip: Use these 7 Best iPhone Apps for Camping to make your adventure a success.

What Is the Best Navigation System for an RV?

The best navigation system for an RV is the one that gets you where you need to go safely. It’s really a matter of personal preference. Garmin has produced several versions of RV-safe GPS systems you can mount on your dash. The Garmin RV 785 can help RVers avoid low clearances, steep inclines, and tight turns. The 7-inch screen also makes it easy to see.

Finally, the built-in dashcam automatically records footage if it detects an incident. However, it’s one of the most expensive options on the market today. There are cheaper options for travelers on a budget.

But many RVers don’t purchase a separate dash navigation system. Instead, they use their smartphones and apps like RV Life and Roadpass Pro. These subscription services have a monthly or yearly fee and can add up over time. But it will take years to meet the upfront cost of a Garmin, Magellan, or Tom Tom navigation system. So the best RV-safe tools really come down to budget and personal preference.

Is RV Trip Wizard Worth It?

Since RV Trip Wizard comes with a seven-day free trial, there’s no reason not to try it. Plan your next adventure with the trip planning tool and then take advantage of the RV-safe GPS navigation. RV Trip Wizard can make it easy to find the nearest rest area or fuel center when you need a break, giving you peace of mind as you travel. Make your next road trip enjoyable and safe with RV Trip Wizard!

The Five Nights at Freddy’s Timeline Explained, From the Novels to the Games

4

Your changes have been saved

Please verify your email address.

You’ve reached your account maximum for followed topics.

The Big Picture

  • The Five Nights at Freddy's series has a complex timeline with nine games and 23 books released since 2014, making it a challenge to follow the story in chronological order.
  • The games and books can be consumed either in release order or chronological order, depending on personal preference and desire to theorize and speculate.
  • The plot really starts with Five Nights at Freddy's 4 , which takes place in 1983 and depicts the earliest point in the timeline and ends (so far) with Tales from the Pizzaplex #8 , set in the megaplex from the latest game, Security Breach.

For those of you who didn't get a chance to catch it in theaters and don't have a Peacock subscription, Five Nights at Freddy’s is now available to purchase on VOD . Some fans have already been scared silly by their favorite murderous animatronics on the silver screen, but more at-home viewing options will introduce a lot of people unfamiliar with the series to the world of Five Nights at Freddy's, especially as they search for something new to watch during the winter holidays (we can't all be Hallmark Christmas movie fiends .) While the reviews of the film weren't what you call glowing, its box office run has been nothing short of sensational. In fact, it is now Blumhouse's most successful film to date at the global box office. While the plot and scares were overwhelming for many, its lead performance from the Hunger Games ' Josh Hutcherson carries the movie all the way home. And with that much money made, it's only a matter of time before a sequel will be announced .

With nine (official) games, 23 books, and a film released since 2014, Five Nights at Freddy’s has a timeline that is anything but straightforward. Some may be content to play the games and read the books in release order; this is totally understandable because it’s the path that allows you the most opportunity to theorize and speculate. Others, though, may want to play and read in chronological order to see the story unfold from start to finish. No matter which order you want, you’re in luck! Both will be covered here.

Five Nights at Freddy's

Can you survive five nights? The terrifying horror game phenomenon becomes a blood-chilling cinematic event, as Blumhouse — the producer of M3GAN , The Black Phone , and The Invisible Man — brings Five Nights at Freddy’s to the big screen. The film follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Games and Books in Release Order

If you’d like to avoid spoilers by diving into chronological order, or if you would just prefer to consume the series in its release order, this is the best place to start.

  • Five Nights at Freddy’s (2014)
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 (2014)
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 (2015)
  • Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 (2015)

Five nights at freddy’s games and books in chronological order.

Alright, so you’ve done it all in order of release now…or you skipped that step to do it all chronologically. Here’s every Five Nights at Freddy’s game and book (so far!) in chronological order; beware of spoilers.

'Five Nights at Freddy’s 4'

Taking place in 1983, Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 depicts the earliest point in the timeline so far. This game takes the player through multiple minigames that tell the story of a young boy who had a series of traumatic experiences at Fredbear’s Family Diner leading up to a party where he’s teased by bullies and his older brother. This game shows the Bite of ‘83 as the boy is lifted up to Freddy’s head and crushed by the animatronic’s mouth. The boy is implied to have died from the incident.

There are easter eggs regarding the Purple Guy in two of the minigames; he is also seen in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 .

'Five Nights at Freddy’s 2'

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 jumps forward a few years to 1987. Players assume the role of Jeremy Fitzgerald, a security guard at a Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza location. The location is currently under investigation due to a string of child murders carried out by the Purple Guy, though the police are mostly working based on rumors at this point. This is the first appearance of the mysterious purple figure in the franchise, and he returns throughout the series as more about the history of the animatronics is uncovered. This game is also the first appearance of Balloon Boy and The Puppet, whose identity is revealed in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator .

'Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location'

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location takes place at Circus Baby’s Entertainment and Rental, which uses animatronics supplied by Afton Robotics, and is operated by Freddy Fazbear creator William Afton (played in the movie by Scream King Matthew Lillard ). This game introduces the Scooping Room, where the endoskeletons of the animatronics are ripped out and salvaged for parts. This game also includes multiple endings, one of which reveals the Purple Guy’s identity.

'Five Nights at Freddy’s

We’ve made it to the first game! Playing as Mike Schmidt, players will continue to learn about the troubled past of the restaurant, including the child murders mentioned in the second game. This game mentions that a suspect was arrested for the murders, but that no bodies were ever found. When the animatronics begin to smell awful and leak blood-like fluid, it sparks the rumors that lead to the police investigation from Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 . This occurrence also aligns with what the Phone Guy says will happen if the guard is caught by an animatronic: he’ll be stuffed into a suit and killed.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Novel Trilogy

Five Nights at Freddy’s takes place sometime in the early '90s, as it’s after the Bite of ‘87, and both Sister Location and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 have The Puppet in them, which puts the novel trilogy after these titles. It includes The Silver Eyes , The Twisted Ones , and The Fourth Closet , which take place between 1995 and 1996. The novels follow Charlotte Emily, the daughter of William Afton’s former business partner Henry Emily. They involve Charlotte trying to uncover the mysteries of her father’s death and the incidents of a Fazbear’s Pizza location, but it is revealed that she was murdered by William Afton and her soul has possessed an animatronic.

While the novels don’t perfectly align with the games, this is the best spot to read this trilogy to fill in some gaps on Henry Emily and The Puppet.

'Five Nights at Freddy’s 3'

This game takes place roughly 30 years after Five Nights at Freddy’s and takes place in an entirely new location: Fazbear’s Fright, a horror attraction based on the Fazbear’s Pizza characters. Unlike previous games, there’s only one animatronic the player has to fend off, a bunny called Springtrap. However, hallucinations of other deteriorated animatronics will haunt the player and cause equipment malfunctions. One of the minigames in this entry reveals that William Afton is possessing Springtrap, and the game has both a good and a bad ending that reveals the fate of the murdered children possessing the other animatronics.

The newest entry to the timeline is the 2023 film. The film follows Mike Schmidt, the guard from the first Five Nights at Freddy's game, and brings in many elements from Five Nights at Freddy's 3 , including the revelation of William Afton being Springtrap and the animatronics being possessed by the ghosts of the children he murdered. The film doesn't exactly follow the lore of the games, but it's safe to put it after both the first and third games as a summary of sorts for them.

'Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator'

This game follows Michael Afton (son of William Afton) at his job as the manager of a Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Guided by the Cassette Man, Michael has to salvage the broken-down animatronics in a back alley, including Springtrap and Circus Baby. The ending reveals that Cassette Man is actually Henry Emily and that salvaging the animatronics was a trap so he could burn down the restaurants, killing himself and freeing all the spirits in the process.

Fazbear Frights Novel Series

This series has 12 novels ( Fazbear Frights 1-12 ), each containing three short stories and an epilogue. While many of the stories have no clear time they’re set in, they do contain characters shown throughout the aforementioned games and books (such as Springtrap) and are titled after Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 ’s setting. Reading this series after Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator is a good way to end what is colloquially known as the "Clickteam Series," a term sometimes used for the first six games, as they were made with Clickteam Fusion 2.5. These novels are also set before the more modern games. These should be read by their release date to keep the epilogues in order, as they have an overarching story.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted' & 'Five Nights at Freddy’s: Special Delivery'

Help Wanted recreates a number of scenes from the first three games under the guise of “undoing the bad press that Fazbear Entertainment has had over the last few decades,” so it is most likely after the damning events of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator . Special Delivery is done in a similar style to Help Wanted and serves the same reputation-fixing plot, so these two games should be paired and played at the same time.

'Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach'

The latest installment in the series, Security Breach , is set after Help Wanted and Special Delivery , which is evident by the fact that the restaurant has grown into a megaplex and seemingly overcome its former infamy. This is the first free-roam game of the series and it contains six endings. The canon ending sees the return of William Afton in a charred Springtrap suit in an underground location that’s suspiciously similar to ones seen in earlier games. In the end, we still don't see Afton’s demise, so there’s a chance he’ll be back !

Tales from the Pizzaplex Novel Series

The Tales from the Pizzaplex series ( Tales from the Pizzaplex 1-8 ) are similar in structure to Fazbear Frights . Each novel contains three short stories and an epilogue, and while they don’t provide much to give a specific timeframe, they all take place in the megaplex from Security Breach , which would set them during and after that game. These should be read by release date to keep the epilogues in order, as they have an overarching story.

Five Nights at Freddy's is now available to purchase on VOD.

Are Ohio Rite Aid stores closing? Some remain open, but pharmacy chain is shrinking

The pharmacy chain Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy in October . Since then, the chain closed hundreds of stores, including 16 more locations in Ohio during additional recent downsizing.

Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy to restructure and cope with losses and lawsuits related to opioids and intends to sell parts of its company.

Court filings revealed more of the drug store’s closings after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last October, a move that allows businesses to stay open while dealing with their debt and reevaluating long-term contracts and leases. More than 200 Rite Aid stores have closed.

Are Rite Aid locations in Ohio still open?

A search of the pharmacy chain's website on Tuesday lists several Ohio locations in operation. There are 142 Rite Aids in Ohio, according to Crain's Cleveland , but the company appears to be standing on shaky ground.

According to a report from WKRC , all Rite Aid stores in Ohio are set to close in a matter of days per employees who participated in a recent conference call.

Additionally, the Detroit Free Press reports that Rite Aid will close all of its stores in Michigan. The chain also closed a distribution center in Pontiac, Michigan, a move that cost 200 workers their jobs, per WZZM .

Are all Rite Aid locations in the U.S. closing?

Not all of them.

Rite Aid intends to close underperforming stores. Those that remain open will continue to fill prescriptions, and customers can still visit open locations or shop online as the bankruptcy process continues, according to Rite Aid's website .

Big Ten Championships: 1st (189 points) NCAA Championships: 7th (90 points)

The University of Michigan rowing program won its ninth Big Ten Championship and its second in a row on the way to the team's best finish at the NCAA Championships since 2021.

Below are season highlights from the 2023-24 season.

Eight boat

Regular Season

• Big Ten/ACC Challenge Yields Promising Results: Michigan's first real test of the season was the Big Ten/ACC Challenge in Columbus, Ohio (March 30). Racing against Duke and Virginia in championship boats, the Wolverines won three of four varsity eight races and five of six varsity four races.

• Speed Shown Early at Big Ten Invitational: The nation's premier event is the two-day Big Ten Invitational (April 19-20). This year's event saw the Wolverines race against six different programs that eventually qualified for the NCAA Championships. U-M strung together top-three finishes all weekend including a near-sweep (wins in six of seven events) on the second session of day two.

• Senior Day Celebrations: U-M raced against Texas (April 13) to close out the team's home schedule and celebrate Senior Day at Belleville Lake. Fifteen student-athletes were honored with their families on the dock at the conclusion of the day. Four-year athletes as part of this class helped win three Big Ten Championships for the Maize and Blue.

Big Ten champs

• Emphatic Repeat at Big Ten Championships: Michigan dominated at the Big Ten Championships in Indianapolis, capturing the program's third title in the last four seasons. U-M had five gold-medal performances in seven boat classes and captured two silvers to score 189 of a possible 192 team points.

• Great Start at NCAA Championships: The Wolverines entered the national championship regatta as the 11th-ranked team, seeded 11th, 10th, and sixth across the first and second varsity eight and first varsity four events. U-M advanced through A/B semifinals on the first day with top-three finishes in all three events, setting themselves up for a great weekend as a team.

• Petite Finals Bring Big Finishes: Racing in three Petite Finals, the Maize and Blue brought its Wolverine speed to close out the championships in Ohio. The second varsity eight and varsity four boats both won their Petite Finals races and the first eight finished third. That meant two U-M boats (1V8, 2V8) outperformed their seeds, and resulted in the team's best finish (seventh) since 2021.

Key Features and Benefits

Trawick International travel insurance offers several plans for different types of travelers with different needs. The coverage levels and premiums will vary depending on the traveler's age, trip costs, and destination.

Below is a list of six travel insurance plans Trawick offers with its Trip Protection plan:

Additional Coverage Options

Trawick International travel insurance offers additional coverage options on specific plans. Some come with no extra charge. Others cost extra. And only some policies allow for these additional coverage options.

Additional coverage options include:

Rental car damage coverage:  It's possible to add this coverage to certain plans from Trawick, like its Safe Travels First plan. This coverage will reimburse damage to a rental car up to an allowed amount.

Pre-existing condition coverage:  Pre-existing condition waivers are available if you purchase travel insurance within seven to 21 days of booking your flight, depending on the policy.

CFAR coverage: "Cancel for any reason" coverage can only be added to Trawick's Armor, Journey, Voyager, First Class, Flex, and Rental Plus plans. This add-on allows travelers to cancel their trip, for any reason, up to two days before departure and get 75% of trip costs reimbursed. CFAR coverage is only available for US residents and US citizens.

How Much Does Trawick International Cost?

Getting a quote from Trawick is a straightforward process. You can visit its website or use an insurance comparison site like Squaremouth.

You must provide traveler and trip details like your date of birth, state of residence, destination, and trip costs. With this information, you should be able to get quotes for the different plans available almost instantly.

Below are a few real-world examples of coverage options and costs from Trawick as of April 2024.

For example, let's look at what it would cost to insure a 35-year-old resident of Ohio spending $8,000 on a two-week trip to France. Below are the costs for each of the six different coverage options.

The cost of coverage ranges from the bottom-tier Safe Travels Explorer plan at $257.04 to the top-tier Safe Travels First Class policy for $453.33. That equates to about 3% to 6% of the total trip cost, which is on the lower end when compared to the average cost of travel insurance .

Now let's look at the cost of coverage for a 55-year-old from Colorado traveling to Argentina and spending $6,000 on a three-week trip.

The premiums for this traveler are higher, but that's to be expected given their age. The lowest-cost Safe Travels First Class plan costs $243.23 and the top-tier Safe Travels Voyager costs $574.14. That represents a cost of between 4% and 9.5% of the total trip cost, higher than the previous example but still within industry averages.

Lastly, we'll look at the premium costs for a 45-year-old resident of Texas traveling to Fiji for two weeks and spending $7,000 on the trip.

The lowest cost plan in this scenario is the Safe Travels Explorer plan, which runs $284.28. And the most expensive is the Safe Travels First Class, at $405.54. You're paying between 4% and 5.8% of the total trip cost at these prices. Again, that's right on track with the averages in the travel insurance industry.

Trawick International travel insurance has several different claims departments and forms, so how you file a claim will vary depending on the coverage you purchase.

You can find claims forms and contact information on Trawick's claims forms page. That's where you'll find information regarding where to mail or email your claim form and contact information for the appropriate claims group.

Reviews on SquareMouth and Google say the claims process can take up to several months and require constant hassling. To avoid additional issues with the claims process, be sure to keep thorough documentation of any unexpected costs incurred during travel. Additionally, you should be as specific as possible when filing a claim.

Trawick International vs. Allianz Travel Insurance

Allianz and Trawick International travel insurance are similar in offering several different coverage options.

Allianz offers 10 travel insurance plans, including one-off and multi-trip policies. So you'll have options whether you're looking to cover a specific trip or plan to take multiple trips a year. Of course, the different plans offer varying levels of coverage, and the premiums depend on the traveler and trip specifics.

Allianz's most popular single-trip travel insurance option, the OneTrip Prime plan, offers up to $100,000 in trip cancellation coverage, up to $150,000 in trip interruption coverage, $50,000 in emergency medical coverage, up to $1,000 in coverage for baggage loss, theft, or damage, and up to $800 in travel-delay coverage.

Trawick's most comparable plan is its Safe Travels Explorer Plus plan, which offers up to $100,000 in trip cancellation and interruption coverage, $50,000 in emergency medical coverage, up to $750 for personal effects, and trip delay coverage of $500.

The best way to decide which company to go with is to compare quotes using your specific trip details and personal information, as those are the details that will affect the cost the most.

Trawick International vs. Nationwide Travel Insurance

Nationwide is a household name when it comes to insurance providers and one of the most well-known and recognized insurance firms in the US. By providing just two single-trip options, the Essential and Prime plans, Nationwide travel insurance has made it simple to find coverage. Nationwide also offers yearly trip insurance for those who travel a lot throughout the year, as well as cruise-specific plans and annual trip insurance.

To compare the two companies, we'll put Nationwide's Essential plan beside Trawick International travel insurance's middle-of-the-road Safe Travels Single Trip plan.

Nationwide's Essential Plan provides up to $10,000 in trip cancellation coverage, up to $250,000 in emergency medical evacuation, up to $150 per day ($600 maximum) reimbursement for travel delays of six or more hours, and coverage for delayed or lost baggage.

In comparison, Trawick's Safe Travels Single Trip plan offers 100% of the insured trip (up to two times the trip cost) in trip cancellation coverage, $350,000 in emergency medical evacuation, and up to $200 per day ($600 maximum) for travel delays of 12 or more hours, and lost and delayed baggage coverage.

So, this particular plan from Trawick offers slightly higher coverage limits for most of the coverages compared.

The high-tier Prime Plan from Nationwide offers even more coverage, including up to $30,000 in trip cancellation, up to $1 million in coverage for emergency medical evacuation, up to 200% of the trip cost (maximum of $60,000) in trip interruption coverage, and $250 per day for trip delays of six or more hours.

To compare, Trawick's highest-tier Safe Travels Voyager plan comes with trip cancellation coverage of up to $100,000, up to $1 million in emergency medical evacuation, up to 150% of the insured trip cost for trip interruption, up to $2,000 maximum reimbursement for travel delays, and coverage for delayed or lost baggage.

Comparing these two policies, you see how it's somewhat of an apples-to-oranges comparison, as some coverage limits are higher or lower. And don't forget that the coverage premiums will vary depending on the traveler and trip specifics.

Trawick International vs. Credit Card Travel Insurance Benefits

Be sure to compare the coverage of travel insurance plans with the coverage offered by your rewards credit cards before purchasing a travel insurance policy. Some basic coverage, like rental car insurance, could already be available through one of your existing cards.

If you're on a road trip and all your expenses are refundable, or if your health insurance covers you while abroad and you don't think you'll have many medical bills, the coverage from your credit card may be sufficient.

It's also worth noting that in most cases, credit card travel protection is only supplementary to a travel insurance policy. This implies you'll have to file your claim with the other relevant insurance (such as the airline) before filing a claim with your credit card company.

  • The first act. While I didn't dislike it overall, I think the first act suffers from some pacing issues that took me out of the film. It sorta gets started from the get go and I tend to prefer films that slowly lead us into the narrative.
  • Tiluka. I know, I know. The love interest isn't the main part of this movie, and while I found her and our hero's relationship sweet for what it was trying to be, I couldn't help but feel her and him were a bit underwritten.
