We were lucky to have Andy Woods as our pilot that day - I was a wee bit worried but needn’t have been. He was so reassuring and such great fun! Made it a totally unforgettable experience. The views of the City were stunning and daughter is saving hard to return and do it all again as soon as possible!

I bought my husband and I the helicopter flight as a wedding gift and it was one of the first things we did in New York. I was nervous to begin with, but I sat with the pilot, Andrew, who calmed my nerves. The flight was absolutely amazing and the best way to see New York! Andrew the pilot was so friendly and you could tell he loves his job which made it an even better flight.

We were on a sightseeing holiday in New York and decided to take a helicopter ride and all I can say is WOW! From the guys on the ground to Andy, our pilot, everyone is there to make sure you have a memorable experience and all take the time to chat and laugh with you. An outstanding experience from beginning to end and it’s obvious from talking with Andy that he absolutely loves his job!

This was an incredible highlight of mine and my sister's recent trip to NYC. Andrew our pilot was brilliant, so friendly, funny and pointed out all the best sights across the city. Both of us had great views and the experience was great. The guys at the base were quite friendly and I also got a great photo from the experience. This was a gift from my sister for my birthday and it definitely made my day and I'll not forget this for a long time!!

GETTING HERE From Times Square it takes about 30 minutes to reach the Heliport by subway or taxi. Keep in mind that any travel after 4pm will take longer due to commuter traffic.

We are a 5 minute walk from the South Ferry subway station; this is the last stop on the 1 train Downtown. If you are using Google Maps or Apple Maps, enter “Downtown Manhattan Heliport” as the address. If you are using a GPS device sometimes our address isn’t recognized, please use 6 East River Piers, New York, 10004.

If you are driving, there is no parking at the heliport but there is a parking garage at the intersection of South Street & Whitehall Street, South St & Old Slip Rd or at the South Street Seaport (Pier 17).

Didn’t really know what to expect since it was our first time flying in a helicopter, but Wings Air did not disappoint. We arranged a special surprise trip with Wings Helicopters for our 2 young daughters on Christs Eve last. Its was to be a tour of New York City, then a short flight to our final destination up sate. When we arrived at the Heliport on East 30th and told the girls our youngest burst into tears as she was so nervous of flying. Anthony, our pilot, took her in hand and was absolutely superb. This was the highlight of our whole vacation!! From the moment we stepped in the door we felt so welcome. They were so professional but so personable at the same time. They also make sure all safety precautions are followed and make you feel so safe. The pilot was awesome! He was very knowledgeable about the areas we flew over and made it a smooth ride. I highly recommend HeliNY if you want to see New York in a very unique and fun way. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!!

These helicopter tours are making residential life in Jersey City unbearable. They are monstrous, relentless producers of noise and air pollution. If you have a conscience, you'll boycott this company and all others like it. Take a walk instead.

Super cool experience. The only thing that prevented it from being perfect is that the guy who point the people where to sit made me sit with my back to the pilot, and although I told him that I prefer to sit facing the pilot he told me it cannot be done ;( The pilot is an awesome guy will take the time and explain to you about everything you see. And really this is an experience I recommend to anybody in New York City to try. It wasn't cheap but it was so worth it. Very happy I came here. Just if u are like me and can get seasick easily, try to sit facing the pilot...

Don't do with your family or as a couple - we paid $1500 for a family of four to have a family adventure as a Christmas present. We were herded line cattle and treated rudely like crud. They grouped us as a family of 4 with a couple. They then wanted to put me up front with the pilot. I said no so they then wanted to stick my husband there. When asked if everything was ok, I said " no. I'd like to be with my family". They got nasty and said "do you want off" and I asked if it was possible to be together as a family if we got off. The guy was a jerk and basically was just saying " deal or get off". One of the couple said they'd go to the front and I said "I don't want you to be separated either". The jerk operator then insisted declaring to me "you created this problem". The girlfriend was then upset too to be separated. The whole $1500 Christmas present was ruined by the total a- holes. Don't plan to do as a family or couple. Also even if they hadn't been jerks, getting herded like cattle wasn't pleasant either

Great experience, greeting and pro staff and pilot, and damned, what a view ! The sun was our friend. I was the lucky one to sit next to the pilot.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. WORST place ever! Do not book to fly through here or work here. Helicopters are not properly equipped and/or maintained. The helicopters are outdated and always leaking out oil. They also do not follow FAA regulations. Employees are constantly sitting around doing nothing. They don't train their employees properly. Whatever you do, do not fly with them!!

I enjoyed this helicopter tour ride of NY. I kept seeing it pop up on my IG and decided to check ot put. Read the reviews and decided to book it. Everything is explained and the staff is really nice. The ride wasn't scary at all and I am extremely scared to fly. It took about 20 mins and the pilot explained all the attraction sites we are seeing during the ride.

Excellent tour! Well organized company. Jose was great at getting me on a flight earlier than I was scheduled.

We booked our tour and we're excited about the adventure of seeing the city by helicopter. The night before our trip I got a late message advising me the city was not allowing flights that day and to call them to go over options. THEY SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME!!! I called in the morning and was told they were still able to leave from New Jersey, and if we wanted to go on the trip we had to travel and leave from the NJ. They told me the trip from NJ is longer and more expensive but they would not charge me more. They also offered a free shirt for each of us. A full refund was also offered. We wanted to go on the trip so we took a train from PENN Station to NJ. It took up much more of our day than originally planned as a result. Somehow I think this happens to them A LOT and they should let people know this might happen when tickets are purchased. The helicopter ride itself was a lot of fun and a neat experience. As a result I still have the 4 stars despite the NJ hassle.

M ay 21—STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In connection with Fleet Week 2024 in New York City, an aviation event will be held on Tuesday at Mt. Loretto on Staten Island.

The U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Navy will be participating in displays and demonstrations at Mt. Loretto in Pleasant Plains from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Notify NYC.

Coast Guard and Navy helicopters will land at the soccer field at Mt. Loretto. Afterward, attendees will be able to meet and speak with the flight crews. Military displays will also be open to the public for viewing.

Fleet Week returns this week through May 28 to celebrate sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen for its 36th year, with the theme this year being, "Fleet Week New York: Celebrating Those Who Serve." Each day, there will be events celebrating those working in sea service.

Two U.S. Navy ships, three U.S. Coast Guard vessels, and four U.S. Naval Academy Yard Patrol boats (YPs) will be at this year's citywide celebration. NATO allies from Germany will also be joining the week-long celebration.

Staten Island will be hosting public ship tours, free to the public, from Thursday through Memorial Day Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
