Hersheypark reopens following flooding, some rides closed, vouchers given to guests
HERSHEY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Hersheypark reopened Tuesday morning after flooding forced the amusement park to close the previous day.
While not every ride is opened, those attending the park will receive a voucher for a future visit this summer, the park tell Action News.
Hersheypark along with Zoo America were closed Monday because of the weather.
The park tweeted Monday morning that the decision was made because of the excessive rainfall over the last three days and localized flooding.
It then announced the amusement park would reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday, but ZooAmerica and The Boardwalk water park would remain closed.
In response to Twitter users questions, Hersheypark advises those visiting to check their app to see which rides are open.
Hersheypark tells Action News, "Our Boardwalk area is closed today so, of our 70 rides, we do have several rides closed given weather conditions. We are issuing return visit vouchers for anyone who visits today so they can enjoy another day before the end of summer!"
As of 11:20 a.m., 27 rides were listed in the app as closed.

Strollers are permitted inside HERSHEY’S CHOCOLATE WORLD. However, to experience any of the shows or rides, your stroller must be parked outside in our covered stroller parking area. Guests wishing to rent a stroller can do so inside the main entrance to HERSHEYPARK (during its hours of operation). Neither HERSHEY’S CHOCOLATE WORLD Attraction nor its employees assume responsibility for the loss of, or damage to, personal property.
Typically, Saturdays are the busiest days at HERSHEY’S CHOCOLATE WORLD. If you have flexibility in your travel plans, please consider visiting on a weekday.
Yes, admission into HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE WORLD and our famous HERSHEY’S Chocolate Tour ride are free year-round and do not require tickets. All other attractions within the facility require a paid ticket.
Many guests may not realize that we're separate companies. Chocolate World is owned by The Hershey Company, and Hersheypark is owned by Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. Four-time GRAMMY Award-winning duo for KING + COUNTRY has announced “for KING + COUNTRY LIVE: The UNSUNG HERO 2024 Tour” is coming to GIANT Center on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 7 p.m.

The 31-city tour will travel across various cities in the U.S., with stops in Milwaukee, St. Louis, Kansas City, The Sweetest Place On Earth and more.
