“We make and barrel every batch by hand, the old-fashioned way.” Garrison Brothers makes a “sweet mash” using locally grown grain that is ground fresh daily and never reused. The 100% organic corn is harvested from Texas farms in the Panhandle near Hereford, Dalhart and Muleshoe. “Our corn comes from family farms,” says Garrison. “Texas farms grow exceptionally fine corn.” The 2008 vintage of Garrison Brothers was made with #1 organic yellow dent corn. Garrison Brothers offers several tours including the “Sit and Sip” Tour, a guided walk of the ranch-distillery. You’ll visit the kitchen, smell the sweet corn cooking, taste our distiller’s beer, and nose fermenting sweet mash. You’ll also tour the legendary Garrison Brothers stillhouse and sample fresh-flowing 135-proof “white dog”, right from the stills. Finally, we’ll walk you through our showcase barrel barn and pour you a small sample of our limited release Garrison Brothers Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Well, my friends, don’t let that happen to you. Not only will you miss out on some great Texas wineries, but you will also miss out on one of my favorite distilleries in Texas , the Garrison Brothers Bourbon Distillery .

Founded in 2006, Garrison Brothers Bourbon Distillery is the first legal whiskey distillery in Texas , so it would be a shame to not have it on your list of places to visit in Texas !

Garrison Brothers Distillery is akin to a fun Texas-style adult playground where you can learn all about the Garrison Brothers bourbon whiskey production and taste some of the best bourbon whiskey produced in Texas (in my opinion).

Of course, you can also combine your Garrison Brothers Distillery tour with a tasting to get the best of both worlds.

The Garrison Brothers Distillery Tour and Tasting Package takes guest on a 2.5 hour tour.

The distillery tour takes approximately 90 minutes and teaches you the process involved in creating Garrison Brothers bourbon whiskey.

This unique tour showcases the bourbon whiskey making process from the grain, the sweet mash bill, into the whiskey barrel, and all the way to the hand dipped bottle.

It’s truly a cool experience to see the bourbon being aged and to witness everything that goes into this great brand.

After the Garrison Brothers Distiller tour, guests are then taken to the Hye Reserve Bar for a some of Garrison Brothers best bourbon whiskey, including, Guadalupe, Laguna Madre, Cowboy Bourbon, and Balmorhea.

Take note that the majority of the tour takes place outside, so dress accordingly!

If you really want to see why Garrison Brother isn’t just any bourbon, then you have to reserve the Hye Reserve Tasting during your visit.

This is tasting allows you to taste some of the most distinct straight bourbon whiskey flavor profiles created at Garrison Brothers Distillery.

Of course, if sipping straight bourbon whiskey isn’t your thing, Garrison Brothers Distillery also offers up an expansive list of whiskey cocktails.

You can get everything from a traditional old fashioned cocktail to a fun frozen Dr. Pepper with a shot of bourbon whiskey; both of which are personal favorites of mine!

I love that the gift shop offers so many of the bourbon bottles for sale.

You can choose to purchase a bottle of their small batch whiskey if you would like.

The small batch whiskey combines bourbon that has been aged at least three years in the barrel to create a bold, and distinct flavor profile.

Their small batch bourbon is released every year and is for sale in the gift shop.

Of course, you can’t go wrong with a good single barrel bourbon whiskey as well. Guests can buy a bottle of single barrel bourbon also.

No matter what bottles you choose to purchase, you can’t go wrong with Garrison Brothers bourbon whiskey.

The best part is, you can enjoy get your bottles delivered if you need to.

The nose give off hints of vanilla and butterscotch, making this bottle truly out of this world!

A Visit to Garrison Brothers Distillery

Garrison Brothers may not be the largest distillery in the world (or even in Texas), but damn if it isn’t one of the friendliest.

I didn’t eat here, but the smell from the grill is outstanding and fully Texified, with plenty of chicken fried everything on the menu. A cocktail list is extensive — try the frozen Dr. Pepper with a shot of bourbon — but if you want a beer or wine, you can grab one from the honor fridge and pay what you’d like. (Bizarrely, Garrison Brothers can sell bourbon, but it can’t sell Shiner.)

Tours take about 90 minutes — which includes everything from tasting the fermenting mash, sipping white dog, touring the bottling line, and enjoying a (large) shot of Garrison Brothers at the end of the experience. $10 per person, $20 on Saturdays, and free if you show up on a horse. Reservations are essential.

Garrison Brothers Distillery Launches Immersive Virtual Distillery Tour

Curated cocktail kits provide the experience of an award-winning Texas bourbon distillery from the comfort of home

AUSTIN, TEXAS (June 16, 2020) — Garrison Brothers , the first legal bourbon distillery in Texas, announced today a new offering — an immersive virtual distillery tour with cocktail kits — available on June 14. With bars and restaurants shuttered across the nation and strict social distancing protocols set forth by local health authorities, Garrison Brothers got creative to provide bourbon lovers new and old a way to explore the spirit with a fun, one-of-a-kind way to best mimic the in-person tour of the Hye, Texas distillery without leaving home.

“I love giving personal tours of our grain silos, cook house, still room, and barrel barns,” said Dan Garrison, founder and proprietor of Garrison Brothers Distillery. “It broke my heart that with this terrible pandemic going on our loyal patrons couldn’t come visit to see how we make our award-winning bourbon. So we’re bringing the distillery to them.”

The immersive virtual distillery tour will be available in time for Father’s Day (June 21) making this great experience the perfect choice for those looking to provide a unique present for dad. Kits go on sale on June 14 — National Bourbon Day — and will be available for doorstep delivery in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, Dallas, and Washington D.C. Patrons are encouraged to place their order by June 19 to ensure their package arrives in time for the kickoff tour at 4:00 p.m. on June 21. Kits are priced at $137.71 and can be purchased via at www.garrisonbros.com/sourced .

The Immersive Virtual Distillery Tour Kit Includes: -One 750ml bottle of Garrison Brothers 2020 Small Batch Bourbon -8 oz. of Cocktail Batch #1 – “The Honey Don’t List” homemade blueberry syrup and Sourced cordial -8 oz. of Cocktail Batch #2 – “Maybe Tomorrow” – homemade vanilla demerara syrup and chocolate bitters -A jigger (a bartender’s measuring tool) to mix your cocktails -Instructions on how to make your cocktails -A container of Garrison Brothers corn -A container of barrel char chips -Topo Chico

The Garrison Brothers team set out to design a live virtual distillery tour using aerial drone videography, helmet-mounted GoPro video, and wireless mics. After several test runs, they found themselves wanting to taste, smell, and see each part of the bourbon making process, and the idea of an immersive virtual distillery tour was born. To create the cocktail kits, Garrison partnered with Sourced Craft Cocktails , a service that delivers custom cocktail kits to homes in select markets, providing out-of-work bartenders the opportunity to earn a living wage by delivering local orders.

“Not only is the team at Sourced Craft Cocktails expert in curating cocktail kits, but their mission is to turn moments into memories through a cocktail experience, which is exactly what we’re trying to do with this virtual tour. They’re also committed to fighting unemployment in the liquor industry with their new pivot to delivery service. That means a lot to us, especially during these tough times,” Garrison said.

As the virtual tour begins, guests will be met by an expert Sourced mixologist who will walk them through unpacking the kit. The Sourced mixologist will guide guests in creating the two cocktail recipes with the ingredients provided in their kit. Then, with a freshly-made cocktail in hand, all will raise a glass to Father’s Day.

“I can’t wait to show everybody around,” Garrison said. “I already know this immersive virtual tour is going to make my day. If I can help make somebody’s Father’s Day special, you better believe I’ll be smiling.”

Guests will “climb aboard” a hayless hayride and hear about Garrison Brothers’ rich history as the oldest, finest Bourbon distillery in Texas. As Garrison guides guests around the property and through the various stages of bourbon making, they will be able to follow along with the samples in their kit, all the way from field to bottle.

Garrison will explain the ABCs of bourbon and help guests understand how to properly nose and taste the spirit. He will explain how master distiller Donnis Todd uses different methods to bring out specific aromas and flavors, and guests will be able to follow along by smelling and touching pieces of the barrels in which Garrison Brothers award-winning Texas bourbon ages.

Garrison Brothers is excited to have a hand in helping people across America celebrate their dads this Father’s Day. When you visit Garrison Brothers Distillery Hye, Texas, you’ll see  rolling hills and scrub oak in every direction. The distillery tour starts when you climb onto the back of a jeep, and start driving up the hill. At this moment, you are transported magically to another land. It is the theater of bourbon, and has to be, to me, one of the best distillery tours in the world. 

I’m not alone in feeling this way. Whiskey fans around the world have connected with Garrison Brothers, and their mission. These Garrison FANATICS will drive for days, to stand in a mile-long line in the sweltering Texas heat just to get a bottle of their special releases.

Garrison Brothers Distillery is a true pioneer in the craft distilling industry. Dan and Nancy Garrison founded the first distillery in Texas in 2005, and were the first people to legally distill in the state. After nearly two decades of fighting the good fight, The Garrisons have become a leader of a new style of whisky: TEXAS WHISKEY. They believe that for a whiskey to be called a Texas whiskey, it must be fermented, distilled, matured, and bottled in Texas. They were so convinced that the regional designation is so important, that they co-founded the Texas Whiskey Association to create the Certified Texas Whiskey program to protect this designation, which has inspired regional distillers across the country.

When the Garrisons started making spirits, they went to Kentucky and learned from the masters. But when they brought that craft home to Hye, they pushed their whiskey in a very different direction. They pot distill their sweet mash bourbon just once in a 2000 gallon pot still to create a distillate that is rich and oily with incredible mouthfeel. They’ve perfectly matched that distillate to white oak barrels and because of that hot Texas climate it seems to speed along the maturation to make a unique texas Bourbon.

Dan Garrison has been attending the ADI conference since 2009 to share his expertise with the industry, including speaking on panels and delivering the keynote address at our 2013 conference in Denver. I am sure some of you here went to the Whiskey Summit and heard Dan’s presentation Building a Fanatical Cult and Cause-Marketing . The ethos of the brand is GOOD BOURBON CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.  And their good bourbon has given back to the community by donating large sums of money to charities through their charity Good Bourbon for a Good Cause.

To date, Good Bourbon for a Good Cause has donated $1.6 million dollars to philanthropy. 

Including raising more than $400,000 in 2020 to help the American hospitality industry to recover and rebuild from the  coronavirus pandemic. And a few months ago Garrison Brothers launched a new expression, Lady Bird, which sold out in just days and raised $30,000 for the preservation of native wildflowers and plants across the state of Texas through the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

Hye, TX (August 22, 2023) – Garrison Brothers , Texas’ first legal bourbon distillery, will release the 2023 Cowboy Bourbon® on Saturday September 23 at their annual distillery event in Hye, Texas. This year’s uncut, unfiltered, cask-strength release clocks in an astounding 140.9 proof and yielded 9,600 bottles. The first 1,000 bottles will be claimed by devoted fans at the distillery, while the remaining 8,600 bottles will be available across the country by the first week of October.   Cowboy Bourbon® is Garrison Brothers’ most elite expression offering the truest taste of Texas terroir on the market. The release comes from what Master Distiller Donnis Todd calls his “piggy bank” of barrels that are just too flavorful on first taste to bottle. He patiently saves and collects these specific barrels as he finds them during his daily, monthly and yearly taste tests, if he deems them of having Cowboy Bourbon® potential. Years later, he takes these barrels out of the already incredibly harsh Texas climate in which they are aging and puts them to the ultimate test: more Texas heat. The already incredibly high-proof barrels continue to age, with some ending up completely empty. Those that remain are collected and married together to make the legendary Cowboy Bourbon® bottled at cask-strength, uncut and unfiltered.   Every barrel used in this year’s release was at least six years old. The 2023 Cowboy Bourbon® greets you with an alluring bourbon perfume blending scents of fresh lumber and honey wheat bread, potent enough to stir the senses. The initial heat reveals an array of flavors – warm plums, rhubarb, cocoa powder and cherry juice, balanced by the earthiness of roasted pecans and a touch of white chocolate and clove honey. The finish is a delightful mix of cinnamon candy, burnt marshmallows, chewy caramels and apple cider, leaving behind a warmth akin to spicy citrus cinnamon and comforting apple pie.   "It holds true even at 140.9, I truly believe the flavor overpowers the proof,” shares Garrison Brothers Master Distiller Donnis Todd.   The suggested retail price of Cowboy Bourbon® is $249.99. While it sells out quickly it can be found at liquor retailers and bars nationwide beginning October 1, 2023. From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.
