Why Take a Guided Bus Tour in Miami?

Great question! Did you know, Miami often ranks first for being the most difficult city to drive in United States? Miamians have a reputation for being aggressive drivers . Nobody wants the stress of driving in a strange place and not know where to go. So it makes sense, the best way to explore a place like here is on a luxury tour bus, with fun people like yourself. The bus driver will navigate traffic for you, while you sit high above the ground enjoying a good view of the surroundings.

And while it’s true, anyone can Uber from place to place, you'll miss a lot. Most of those drivers in Miami don't speak English. They also don't know how to find the best photo spots that a professional guide can show you.

But if you do take a bus tour around Miami, try to do it at the beginning of the trip. It’ll really help you get more familiar with the city’s layout. You can navigate the rest of your time here more easily, when you understand the street grid, and can circle back to the places you want to visit again.

Why choose Miami Tour Company?

Founded in 2008, we are one of the highest rated bus tour agencies in the country , and we consistently rank as the #1 Miami sightseeing tour on TripAdvisor . Why? We’ve combined our knowledge as a 3rd generation bus operator with our passion for hospitality to create one-of-a-kind tours and private charters that speak to a variety of ages and interests.

Safe driving is our number one priority. The buses are equipped with 3-point harness passenger safety belts. Your bus driver follows the rules of the road and knows the streets inside and out, so you’ll always be on-time and never feel rushed.

Our tour guides are some of the most experienced in the business. Tired of listening to a monotone voice drone on and on? So were we. That’s why we take extra care to find guides that are personable and fun.

What kind of bus tours do you offer?

We operate daily tours in Miami, Key West, Orlando and the Everglades. The tours take place in a new coach bus, and provide an insider’s view of the culture, history, and fun facts that define the area. For example, did you know that 85% of Miami households speak Spanish as their first language? Well, now you do.

Are you travelling with kids? Great! We offer a family discount and special prices for ages 3 to 17. All the activities are family-friendly, we created the Everglades Tour specifically with families in mind. From having seat-belts on the bus, to the safety ear muffs for kids, to holding a baby gator, to the boat ride, there's fun stuff to keep everyone entertained.

Whether you want to explore the Wynwood Art District, put your feet on the sand in Miami Beach, experience Cuban food and culture, visit Everglades National Park, or go to Key West for the day, we’ve got the right thing to do.

Our ready-to-go sightseeing tours have everything you need for a great day of fun—free bottled water, illustrated maps, luggage storage, WiFi, and a phone charger at your seat. Buy tickets... Meet your guide... and away you go.

People often say, the Miami To The Max! half-day tour around the city is a great jumping off point for learning the layout of the land.

What if I want a private tour vs. a group tour?

No problem. If touring with a small group isn’t your thing, we operate private tours and ground transportation to anywhere in Florida. Private charters include bottled water, WiFi, phone charging at your seat, and an illustrated map.

Call us at (305) 260-6855, we'll discuss your needs and suggest strategies to save money.

Are you coming to town for a sporting event? We are proud to partner with Miami Heat, Miami Marlins, Miami Dolphins , and more to offer discounted tickets while you’re here.

And if you live in Miami, we got your back. Check out our Florida Resident Discount .

Miami will forever conjure images of sunny beaches, colorful cocktails, and neon-lit art deco buildings; however, there’s more to this popular Florida vacation spot than what you might think. You’ll get a taste of all that the Magic City has to offer on Miami city and sightseeing tours.

For those looking to go beyond the city limits, head to Miami Beach for boat tours that offer a cool reprieve to our year-round warm weather. Rated Five Stars on TripAdvisor and Get Your Guide

We first start with the city tour in the morning then we decided to book the following day for the everglades. The experience on the hard top convertible bus is unique, my kids went crazy for this bus and we had a blast.Safe driver and very fun guide.

We booked a 2 tours sunset/night tour, it was awesome. The driver/guide drop us shortly to take fews pictures and show us the best spots to go out by night. Beautiful colors to take picture of Miami by the bridge, I recommend it

Ideal to start your Miami vacation. The bus is super nice and we are in the open air, that's the difference. Global tour of Miami and these different neighborhoods. The guide is excellent, dynamic, with a real knowledge of life in Miami. We also stop during the visit, to better discover the neighborhoods. We do not see the time spent. It's great..!!!

My husband and I had a very good time for our vacations in Miami. Andre is an excellent guide and you can really tell he loves what he does. Highly recommend this tour bus.

We had a great time touring Miami on the panoramic bus tour. Seating is comfortable and they don’t cram people in like other bus tours. Towards the end the sun started beating a little hard but the driver closed the glass roof and was perfect with air conditioning.

Had a great tour and would highly recommend. Great to be in an open bus and able to see everything. Had stops in Wynwood to see the walls and in Little Havana. Excellent guide. Nice to be part of a small tour and not be with the masses. A definite must do!!

We had a very good time, the reviews are accurate and the guide is excellent, the cabriolet bus is really great, we stopped at Wynwood where we could visit the Wall, the children were also delighted, an activity to recommend on Miami!

Great experience. Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best Miami tours I experience. Learned a lot about the city. I would definitely recommend

Best way to plan the res of your trip. You get to see the hotspots and decide whether you want to return later to spend more time. Great experience especially at night. Miami is lit up!

Friendly driver and open air tour made for a fun evening looking at lights of Miami. Downtown art deco building with lit signs was the highlight. Unimpeded views to look upwards makes all the difference.

South Beach is the iconic neighborhood of 9-mile Miami Beach . Whether you love it for the art deco buildings, sunshine, or its numerous film and television appearances ("The Birdcage" and "Bad Boys" are just a few set here), it is worth a visit. Lincoln Road is bursting with stores (both national brands and boutiques), bars, restaurants and endless people-watching opportunities. The Wolfsonian-FIU museum and several parks offer alternatives to South Beach's most popular pastime: beach-going. Lounge, walk, or bike along the water with local and tourists alike. Lummus Park separates some of the beach from the city streets. It houses sports courts, restrooms, walking paths, gyms and playgrounds.

Visitors have endless positive things to say about South Beach. They praise everything from the weather to the views to the beautiful people. Expect big crowds in the summer and embrace the opportunity to people watch. Those looking for a quieter experience should hit the water early.

The largest collection of art deco architecture in the United States is concentrated in a walkable section of Miami Beach . Many of these buildings are protected by local preservation ordinance – an effort spearheaded by Barbara Capitman nearly 50 years ago. Hotels, fountains and other structures provide a colorful and fun backdrop for vacation photos. For those interested in the history of the historic district, take one of the Miami Design Preservation League's tours .

Visitors love walking the Art Deco Historic District. Many recommend taking in the neighborhood at night, when the lights add to the already colorful surroundings. Visitors note that having a drink or meal here will be expensive, but may be worth the splurge.

Located on Calle Ocho in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood, Ball & Chain opened in 1935, so it predates the area's status as the center of Miami's cultural scene. The restaurant and bar hosted live music from its founding until 1967, when the building was converted into a furniture store. An investment group returned the Ball & Chain to its entertainment roots in the 2000s, mirroring the neighborhood's Cuban culture.

Travelers love the venue's live music, mentioning that the desire to salsa dance becomes contagious after a few mojitos. In addition to drinks, Ball & Chain also impresses visitors with its take on Cuban classics like pork tacos, conch ceviche and Cuban sandwiches. However, some feel that prices are too high. Be prepared for a dress code of no flip-flops to be enforced.

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Located in the Coconut Grove district, the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens were originally built as a winter villa for businessman James Deering in the early 1900s. Today, it serves as a museum, with a wide variety of art from the 15th to the 19th century. The atmosphere and architecture are a key part of the experience, which impress visitors. Much of the original house (which spans 38,000 feet) is intact and showcases a neat assortment of vintage furniture.

For many travelers, the gorgeous gardens are the highlight of a trip here. Plus, the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is one of the top musuems in Miami . Visitors say the picturesque grounds remind them of European mansions. You can walk around the property at your leisure.

This historic public pool with an Italian village theme is a relaxing alternative for those looking for water and sun away from the fast pace of South Beach . The pool does not use chemically treated water, relying instead on fresh water from an underground aquifer.

The Venetian Pool makes for a great family trip, but keep in mind that children younger than 3 years old are not admitted. Swimmers and sunbathers praise the architecture and refreshing water, though some say the admission prices are too high. If you get a case of the munchies, a cafe is available on-site with the usual assortment: pizza, mozzarella sticks, nachos and chicken tenders, among other concession snacks.

Pérez Art Museum Miami Pérez Art Museum Miami

Known by locals as the PAMM, Pérez Art Museum Miami is Miami's leading modern and contemporary art museum with a collection of international art from the 20th and 21st centuries. The museum's permanent collections and special exhibits highlight Miami's diversity and its geographic location at the intersection of the Americas, with an emphasis on the Latin experience in the U.S., Latin America, the Caribbean and the African diaspora. PAMM's collection spans nearly 3,000 works of art, only a selection of which is on view across its eight galleries at any given time.

One of the first things visitors will see when they arrive at PAMM is kinetic artist Jesús Rafael Soto's interactive outdoor installation of blue strings, meant for guests to interact with and walk through, called "Penetrable BBL Blue." Recent visitors called the museum building itself the true sight to see, however – with its exterior hanging gardens and views of Biscayne Bay. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects Herzog & de Meuron as a state-of-the-art, sustainable structure overlooking the bay, the 200,000-square foot facility has become a cultural icon in Miami. PAMM also has a modern American restaurant on-site called Verde with an outdoor terrace offering waterfront views, which visitors enjoyed, and a boutique gift shop with art books, apparel, home decor and office supplies, and collections of merchandise by artists whose works are featured at the museum.

Zoo Miami Zoo Miami

This beautiful zoo is home to more than 3,000 animals, representing more than 500 different species. It's famous for providing a natural environment for its residents without the use of cages – rather, the zoo employs strategically placed moats to separate the animals from the visitors.

Petting zoos and plenty of "edutainment" programs are sure to keep your little ones interested. The whole family will enjoy the parrot feeding and mild rides. Recent visitors praise the zoo's cleanliness, the generous amount of space the animals have to roam and the friendly and knowledgeable employees. When planning your visit, keep a few traveler tips in mind: The zoo is large, meaning you'll be walking a fair amount; a good pair of sneakers is key. To avoid the crowds, get to the zoo right when it opens at 10 a.m. If you're visiting in the warmer months, you'll be happy to know there are plenty of water fountains, misters and shaded play areas.

Recent visitors praised the expansive art galleries that populate the area, while public displays, which include murals and statues, provide mind-bending photo backdrops. Travelers also enjoyed window-shopping as they strolled by the high-end stores. Many compared the area to Rodeo Drive . U.S News Insider Tip: The Mandarin Oriental is just a short walk from the Brickell City Centre and every day it has a happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. with some great craft cocktails. – Lawrence Phillips, founder and CEO of Green Book Global

From its position in the heart of downtown Miami, Brickell City Centre helps pump style through the trendy city's veins. The open complex spans three city blocks and four stories, housing roughly 100 different retail, restaurant and cinema options for visitors to pass the time. Despite being an open area, the Climate Ribbon installation that towers over the outdoor walkways works to lower the temperature while maintaining Miami's glamorous style. Because of this, many reviewers said it's a nice place to go for a stroll.

Crandon Park comprises the northern portion of Key Biscayne (almost 7 miles southeast of Miami). The key began as a coconut plantation, before being donated with the stipulation that Miami-Dade County uses the land as a public park. Schnebly's Redland Winery Schnebly's Redland Winery

You won't find grapes growing at Schnebly Redland's Winery, dubbed the southernmost winery in the United States. Instead, it makes wine using local tropical fruits like guava, mango and passion fruit. At this gem in Miami's rural farmland region, you can take part in a wine tasting at the taproom or enjoy a walking tour of the estate to learn how the tropical wines are made. In addition to single-fruit flavors ranging from avocado to lychee, Schnebly also produces award-winning signature blends and even sparkling wine varieties. Whether or not exotic fruit wines are for you, recent visitors praised the winery's beautiful grounds, with its lush foliage, serene waterfalls, koi ponds and tiki hut structures that provide shade while you wine and dine.

For $25 per person, you're able to select five wines to sample, which a bartender will pour for you into a souvenir engraved wine glass (you'll get to take it home as a memento). Once you've picked a favorite, you can always opt to purchase a bottle to take home or open it up right then and there to split with friends alongside a charcuterie board from the small market. Guided tours are offered hourly on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) for $16 per person, but must be reserved online at least 24 hours in advance. The 30- to 45-minute tour of the estate covers the history of the Schnebly family and the process of making wine with tropical fruits instead of grapes.

Cubaocho Museum & Performing Arts Center Cubaocho Museum & Performing Arts Center free

Coalescing the stories of Miami's Little Havana neighborhood, the Cubaocho Museum & Performing Arts Center serves as a stalwart for traditional Cuban culture. The museum houses pre-revolution Cuban art, from 1800 to the 1960s, as well as modern Cuban works. As a performing arts center, Cubaocho showcases Cuban music and dance. What's more, the Cubaocho Museum & Performing Arts Center doubles as a store, as many of the items you see in the museum are for sale. There's also a bar where you can sip rum cocktails after you explore.

Travelers suggest stopping by the attraction for a drink (get a mojito) and maybe a cigar. In the evening, live music serenades visitors while they dance or take in the curated Cuban art, which recent visitors raved about. Many of the Cubaocho Museum & Performing Arts Center's patrons stopped by on a walking tour of Little Havana, but Cubaocho warrants a visit in and of itself.

Coral Castle Museum Coral Castle Museum

Fans of the mystical will love the Coral Castle Museum, which houses a sculpture garden made entirely of coral rock. The park's oddities begin with its creator, Ed Leedskalnin, who constructed the whole garden from 1923 to 1951 in secrecy. Part of the museum's fun comes from puzzling how one man could have secretly moved and carved more than 1,100 tons of rock. Another excellent question for the Coral Castle Museum's visitors: why?

Travelers delight in the Coral Castle Museum's classic roadside attraction charm, though others feel the entrance fee is too pricey. Some praise the museum's tour guides, who weave Leedskalnin's complex story into the information regarding each of the unique sculptures. Just don't expect to leave with any definitive answers.

Formerly known as Marlins Park, loanDepot Park is the home base for the Miami Marlins, the city's Major League Baseball team. Located in the Little Havana neighborhood, the ballpark is ultramodern with a trace of classic Miami culture. Visitors who make it to a game get to watch one of baseball's most interesting teams. Though the Marlins have won two World Series titles since they began playing in 1993, travelers aren't guaranteed a win: The Marlins have the least number of winning seasons of any MLB franchise.

Spectators are generally astounded by the park, especially by its diverse food offerings. They praise the retractable roof, which ensures that it's always baseball weather, even during Miami's sweltering summers. Ticket prices vary based on the game. They are available for purchase in advance on the Miami Marlins' page of the MLB website . Visitors can also take tours of the park for $15 per adult and $10 for kids ages 14 and under. Hours vary and reservations should be made in advance . The Nos.  7, 11, 51 and 208 bus routes drop passengers a few blocks from the park.

Is Taylor Swift going to sing live during 'Eras Tour' Florida concerts? Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl suggests no

London was the scene seemingly for last weekend's latest celebrity spat, this time between a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band member and arguably the biggest popstar in the world at the moment.

While performing on Saturday night at London Stadium, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl took a swipe at Taylor Swift, insinuating the singer does not perform live .

The following night at Wembley, Swift didn't outright clapback at Grohl for his comment but had a swift response of her own. Here's what to know about the latest celebrity tiff and when Swift will head to Florida next.

What did Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl say about Taylor Swift in London?

Grohl said they had been performing for eras themselves, but referred to the band's work as the "Errors Tour" before what seemed to be shots fired. Grohl said: "That's because we actually play live. WHAT?!"

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

Grohl's full comments  include some NSFW words. Discretion is advised.

Where did Foo Fighters play in London?

Foo Fighters performed at  London Stadium  on July 22, 2024.

Where is Taylor Swift playing in London?

Taylor Swift is performing at  Wembley Stadium  in London.

Did Taylor Swift respond to Dave Grohl during 'Eras Tour' in London?

That is up for debate, but Swifties are pretty sure she had no problem sticking up for herself and the other performers in the "Eras Tour" shows.

During her third London stop on June 23, Swift  spoke to the cheering crowd : "Every one of my band members, every single one of our crew, my band — who’s gonna be playing live for you for 3 1/2 hours tonight — they deserve this so much. And so does every one of my fellow performers, and you just gave that to us so generously. We will never forget it."

Was Travis Kelce at the Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' show at Wembley Stadium in London?

Yes. Taylor  Swift invited boyfriend  and  Kansas City Chiefs  tight end  Travis Kelce  onto the stage during the transition of "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart," to help her dancers with the singer's wardrobe change.

Kelce, along with his brother Jason and mother Donna, own a luxury condo in the picturesque neighborhood of Baldwin Park in Orlando.

When is Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' in Miami?

The popstar will make her return to the United States with Miami's Hard Rock Stadium on Friday, Oct. 18 to Sunday, Oct. 20 of 2024.

Where is the Taylor Swift 'Eras Tour' concert in Miami?

What does the weather typically look like in October in Miami?

Can I still purchase tickets for the Taylor Swift shows in Florida?

Tickets to all three of the Miami dates for Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” sold out via Ticketmaster  back in September . However, resale tickets are available via  StubHub  and  SeatGeek .

However, beware as a majority of these tickets are sold by scalpers above face value, ranging from $900 to $10,000 for seats.

Does Taylor Swift have a song about Florida?

In her  11th studio album "The Tortured Poets Department," Swift sang about  escaping to the Sunshine State with Florence + The Machine  by her side.

In “Florida!!!”, Swift and Florence offer up a suspense-filled track that highlights the beauty and brutality of the state, with lyrics aimed at escaping, washing away with hurricanes and bodies (metaphorically) sinking away in the swamp.

Where is Destin? Taylor Swift namedrops this Florida city on “The Tortured Poets Department'

But what is the song actually about? Well, no one but Swift, her collaborators and closest confidants will know the answer but that doesn't stop Swifties from sleuthing. However, Swift did tell  iHeart Radio  that after getting inspiration from crime shows, she thought of where she'd go if she needed to reinvent herself.

"I think I was coming up with this idea of 'what happens when your life doesn't fit' or 'the choices you've made catch up with you' and you're surrounded by these harsh consequences and judgement," Swift said. "And circumstances did not lead you to where you thought you'd be."

Florida's "Freedom Month" tax holiday starts July 1. Here's what items you can buy tax-free

Updated on: June 29, 2024 / 11:08 AM EDT / CBS/News Service of Florida

TALLAHASSEE — Retailers hope outdoor enthusiasts planning to buy canoes, fishing gear or tickets to ball games have become more aware of an upcoming tax-free shopping period that lawmakers have dubbed "Freedom Month."

The tax "holiday" will allow shoppers to avoid paying sales taxes on a wide range of recreational items and activities throughout July. It was part of a tax package (HB 7073) that the Legislature passed in March and Gov. Ron DeSantis signed in May.

2024 Freedom Month Sales Tax Holiday - External FAQs - Sales and Use Tax Dealers by Hunter Geisel on Scribd

As examples, sales taxes won't be collected in July on many supplies for boating, fishing and camping and tickets purchased for live music events, sporting events, fairs, festivals, theater performances and movies. Last year, the state offered the tax holiday for three months, but it will be limited to July this year.

Florida Retail Federation President Scott Shalley expressed optimism that "this more narrowed focus" will increase consumer awareness and provide a summer boost to retailers. The state this year also is offering separate tax holidays linked to back-to-school purchases and hurricane-preparedness supplies.

"I think the idea of paring it (the Freedom Holiday) down to a month is helpful. I think it definitely makes people focus more on that opportunity," Shalley said. "It gives our retailers an opportunity to plan their marketing and put things in place that are more focused. And that has certainly been a benefit of the back-to-school, the disaster-preparedness (holidays), and I think that follows suit here with the summer (holiday)."

The Freedom Holiday is expected to reduce state and local tax revenues by $91.8 million.

When he signed the tax package, DeSantis said the holiday is intended to "get people outdoors" and "have fun."

"No tax on recreational items. No tax on things, fishing supplies, boating supplies, athletic equipment, you name it, tax free for the month of July," DeSantis said. "That is really, really significant."

The Washington, D.C.-based Tax Foundation, however, said that while sales-tax holidays have broad support, they are "political gimmicks" that distract from "genuine, permanent tax relief."

"They do not promote economic growth or significantly increase consumer purchases, but instead shift the timing of purchases," the Tax Foundation said. "Some retailers even raise prices during these holidays, reducing consumer savings."

People can buy tax-free tickets in July for events that will occur before the end of the year. But Ticketmaster's website noted that changes such as upgrades made after July will be subject to taxes. Ticketmaster also advised people that additional services tied to live events, such as parking and memorabilia purchases, might be taxed.

The tax holiday also doesn't cover rentals of such things as fishing gear and kayaks and doesn't include purchases at places such as theme parks and airports.

Shalley said he understands the exclusion of rental items, as "the holiday is designed to provide relief for Floridians."

"If you're looking at certain markets, that (rental items) may apply more to visitors," Shalley said.

The state began holding the Freedom Holiday in 2021 for a one-week period around Independence Day. It was repeated as a one-week event in 2022 before being expanded to three months last year.

It is among the largest portions of the new tax package, which is projected to reduce revenue by $439.6 million during the fiscal year that will begin Monday.

Meanwhile, the start of the new 2024-2025 fiscal year means two tax holidays that were in effect throughout the current fiscal year will go away.

Taxes will return to Energy Star appliances such as washing machines that cost $1,500 or less, clothes dryers that cost $1,500 or less, water heaters that cost $1,500 or less and refrigerators that cost $4,500 or less. They also will apply to gas ranges and cooktops.

Here is a partial list of what people can buy in July without paying sales taxes:

  • Tickets to concerts, sporting events, cultural events, theater performances and movies scheduled before Dec. 31.
  • Season tickets to ballets, plays, music events and musical theater performances.
  • Gym memberships.
  • Bait and fishing tackle that costs $5 or less.
  • Sunscreen and insect repellant that costs $15 or less.
  • Snorkels, goggles and swimming masks that cost $25 or less.
  • Camping lanterns, flashlights and tackle boxes that cost $30 or less.
  • Water bottles that cost $30 or less.
  • Pool floats, inflatable chairs, and pool toys that cost $35 or less.
  • Sleeping bags, portable hammocks, camping stoves and collapsible camping chairs that cost $50 or less.
  • Bicycle helmets that cost $50 or less.
  • Life jackets, coolers, paddles, and oars that cost $75 or less.
  • Fishing rods and reels that cost $75 or less.
  • Sunglasses that cost $100 or less.

  • Water skis, wakeboards and kneeboards that cost $150 or less.
  • Residential pool and spa chemicals that cost $150 or less.

Were more winning Florida Lottery tickets sold at Publix in June ... again?

tour miami florida

There were 64 Florida Lottery winners in June, surpassing the 53 winners in May but still falling short from the 81 winners in February.

The biggest Florida winners of the month were two $4 million Mega Millions tickets sold in Largo. The tickets were sold at two Publix super markets across the street from each other .

Is there a way to increase the odds of winning one of the Florida Lottery games? Where are all those winning tickets sold? Are your chances higher if you allow the machine to pick your numbers? Does Publix really sell more winning tickets than any other retailer? And what about city; does that count?

➤ Check your tickets: Numbers from June 30 drawing

We tracked all the winners in the various drawings —  Powerball ,  Mega Millions , Lotto, Jackpot Triple Play, Cash4Life and Fantasy 5 — held in June to answer those questions.

How many Florida Lottery winners were there in June 2024?

In June, there were 64 winners in the drawings held between June 1 and June 30.

Compare May winners to those earlier this year:

  • January: 56 winners
  • February: 81 winners
  • March: 57 winners
  • April: 60 winners
  • May: 53 winners

Twenty-two of all the winning tickets sold in June were quick pick.

In June, there were three days when there were no winners in any of the draw games, with the exception of Cash Pop.

So far, the only month in 2024 with at least one winner every day was February.

Are more winning lottery tickets sold at Publix?

For the sixth month in a row, more winning Florida Lottery tickets were sold at Publix than any other retailer.

Here are the top retailers in June with at least two sales:

  • Publix: 23 winners
  • 7-Eleven: 5 winners
  • Sunshine: 3 winners
  • Speedway: 2 winners

Publix has been the top retailer every month so far: January (16), February (37) , and March (25) , April (26) , May (20).

What Florida city had the most lottery winners in June?

Here are the cities in June — with at least two sales — where the most winning lottery tickets were sold:

  • Miami, Miami Shores: 8
  • Hollywood: 3
  • West Palm Beach: 3
  • Delray Beach: 2
  • Homestead: 2
  • Palm Bay: 2

Twenty-two of the Fantasy 5 winners opted for the quick pick option of having the machine pick their numbers.

What other games had winners in May?

  • Mega Millions: 3 winners (two Florida winners won $4 million; third ticket sold in Illinois)
  • Cash4Life: 3 winners (tickets sold in New York)
  • Powerball: 2 winners (tickets sold in Kentucky and New Jersey)

5 things to know about Tri-Rail's new express route from West Palm to Miami

South Florida's publicly run passenger train, Tri-Rail , will start its rush hour express service between downtown West Palm Beach and downtown Miami on Monday, July 1.

Here are five important things to know about Tri-Rail train from West Palm Beach to Miami.

1. Tri-Rail's new route, schedule from West Palm to Miami

The weekday express train is scheduled to leave the West Palm Beach station on Tamarind Avenue and Clematis Street at 6:30 a.m., arriving at the MiamiCentral station at 8:05 a.m. The service is scheduled to leave MiamiCentral at 5:35 p.m. and arrive in West Palm Beach at 7:05 p.m.

The new train does not go north in the morning or south in the evening. Passengers can board at any station on the express train's route. In addition to West Palm Beach and MiamiCentral, the stations are Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and the Miami Metrorail transfer station in Hialeah.

For $17.50, passengers can travel about 90 minutes from West Palm Beach to Miami in the early morning and return in the late afternoon, stopping at five stations instead of the 17 on the non-express route.

2. Ticket prices, fees for Tri-Rail

The faster train's fares are the same as Tri-Rail's non-express routes.

Here are the costs one way from West Palm Beach:

  • To Boca Raton: $5
  • To Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport: $7.50
  • To Miami Metrorail or MiamiCentral: $8.75

A ride from the Boca Raton stop will cost $5 to the Fort Lauderdale airport station and $6.25 to the Miami stops.

Tri-Rail's non-express service between West Palm Beach and Miami takes more than two hours, requiring riders to board a second Tri-Rail train at the Metrorail stop.

Previously: Tri-Rail to offer express trains to Miami to help commuters get to work for $17.50 a day

3. Tri-Rail tickets compared to Brightline's South Florida train service

The cheapest one-way ticket on the privately run Brightline costs $24 for one passenger. It takes 80 minutes to go from its downtown West Palm Beach station to MiamiCentral without delays and stopping in Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Aventura along the way.

Brightline used to offer South Florida commuters what was effectively a $10 per ride pass — $399 for 40 rides — but started raising prices this year . It now offers riders in the region a 10-trip pack for $350, effectively $35 a ride. Brightline wants to boost service on its profitable Orlando route cutting available seats for trips within South Florida.

Rides on Tri-Rail's express service are covered by its regular multi-trip passes. A regular monthly pass for non-disabled adults costs $110 for unlimited trips. A monthly pass rider who takes the express service both ways for all the 23 weekdays in July will have effectively spent $4.78 per day.

Brightline's price hikes led Tri-Rail to launch its new service. Its operator, the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority, approved the express service May 31, at an estimated cost of $2.5 million.

4. Tri-Rail offers Uber, Lyft, taxi credits for passengers

Tri-Rail passengers can get a $5 credit when taking Uber, Lyft or a taxi to and from train stations, except MiamiCentral, if they present drivers with a valid EASY Card, which is dispensed at the stations' ticketing machines. Riders can put money on the cards to pay train fare. Anyone who wants to claim the credit can learn more at tri-rail.com/pages/view/ride-partners .

5. How to purchase Tri-Rail tickets online, plus the Tri-Rail app

  • The EASY card: Riders who want to purchase tickets online can sign up for Tri-Rail's EASY card. The EASY Card is Tri-Rail’s automated fare collection system. With the EASY Card, users add cash value up to $150 to pay one-way fares, or load the card with all of Tri-Rail’s different fare products including the monthly, 12-trip or weekend passes. The EASY Card automatically deducts the appropriate fare when users tap the card on any of the validators located on all station platforms.
  • Tri-Rail app: The mobile app includes train schedules, mobile passes, real-time tracking and arrival times and system alerts. Riders can download the app for free in the App Store or Google Play.
