Every year, Apple releases new features for Safari, and you usually install them without realizing it because they're linked to macOS updates that you get in System Preferences.

But because Safari is a browser, Apple often lets you update to the latest version of Safari without installing the next big OS release. For example, while Safari 14.0 came bundled in macOS Big Sur , macOS Catalina users can still update to it. Apple also provides regular security updates to older versions of Safari, which is the main reason why we recommend that you keep it updated .

To update Safari, you'll have to use the Software Update feature in System Preferences. To get there, click the Apple icon in the top-left corner of the screen.

The Updates section is divided into several parts depending on the status of your apps. There may be a Pending section for apps that are in queue to be updated but need authorization or more time to complete. There could be an Updates Available section for apps that have available updates that haven’t been started yet. And you may also see a Recently Updated section to check on updates that have been recently applied.

Look for Safari in the Pending or Updates Available sections. If you see it look for a blue Update button to the right of the app. If available, select this to begin your Safari update.

Troubleshooting note: If it looks like something is wrong with Safari, such as a pending update that can’t complete or a notice that says something like Unable to Update Safari , then you should try rebooting your Mac and updating again to see if this helps. If it does not work, you should check on your MacOS updates. If your version of MacOS has fallen behind the latest updates for Safari, it may not be available until you complete a more comprehensive upgrade.

Remember, you can typically use this full MacOS update method to update Safari at any time. However, since a MacOS update requires backing up your data and logging out of everything beforehand, it’s not always a feasible option if you’re in the middle of some long-term work. WARNING: Installing Windows 11 media on a PC that does not meet the Windows 11 minimum system requirements is not recommended and may result in compatibility issues. If you proceed with installing Windows 11 on a PC that does not meet the requirements, that PC will no longer be supported and won't be entitled to receive updates. Damages to the PC due to lack of compatibility aren't covered under the manufacturer warranty.
Matches your current language: You'll need to choose the same language when you install Windows 11. To see what language you're currently using, go to Time & language in PC settings or Region in the Control Panel.
After downloading, run the media creation tool . You need to be an administrator to run this tool.

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Windows Update , and select Check for updates . You may also wish to visit your device manufacturer’s support site for any additional drivers that may be needed.
Attach the USB flash drive or insert the DVD on the PC where you want to install Windows 11.
If your PC does not automatically boot to the USB or DVD media, you might have to open a boot menu or change the boot order in your PC's BIOS or UEFI settings.
To open a boot menu or change the boot order, you'll typically need to press a key (such as F2, F12, Delete, or Esc) immediately after you turn on your PC. For instructions on accessing the boot menu or changing the boot order for your PC, check the documentation that came with your PC or go to the manufacturer's website.
If you do not see the USB or DVD media device listed within the boot options, you may need to reach out to the PC manufacturer for instructions for temporarily disabling Secure Boot in your BIOS settings.
If changing the boot menu or order doesn't work, and your PC immediately boots into the OS you want to replace, it is possible the PC had not fully shut down. To ensure the PC fully shuts down, select the power button on the sign-in screen or on the Start menu and select Shut down.

In this tutorial, we’ll not only talk about how AltStore works, but we’ll show you how to install it and get things set up so that you can effortlessly sideload apps on your iPhone or iPad in the future using this handy utility.

What is AltStore?

If you’ve never heard of AltStore before, it’s essentially on one of the most popular sideloading methods for iPhones and iPads. This means that you can acquire almost any .ipa file (a raw iPhone application file) and install it on your iPhone or iPad with this utility without using Apple’s App Store .

Hint: That’s why it’s called AltStore (or Alternative Store).

AltStore is a two-part application. While the AltStore application resides on your iPhone or iPad, ready to accept .ipa files at any moment, you also have another program installed on your macOS or Windows computer called AltServer.

AltServer is what allows you to install AltStore onto your iPhone or iPad. Once installed, you can use AltStore to sideload .ipa files for at least seven days using only your Apple ID. When those seven days are up, you must re-sign them – a relatively easy task, albeit sometimes inconvenient.

How to install AltStore

Installing AltStore on your iPhone or iPad is an easy process that anyone can do. We’ll walk you through the steps required below:

1) Visit the following URL in the Safari web browser:

New AI Features Reportedly Coming to Safari in iOS 18

Safari will gain a series of AI-powered features and UI enhancements in iOS 18 , AppleInsider reports .

An "Intelligent Search" browser assistant tool that leverages Apple's on-device AI technology to identify key topics and phrases on webpages for summarization purposes.
A "Web Eraser" tool that allows users to remove unwanted portions of webpages easily. Erasure is persistent, remaining even when revisiting a site unless changes are reverted.
A new, quick-access menu emerging from the address bar that consolidates page tools, bringing over some functions that currently sit in the Share Sheet and placing them alongside the new tools.

The iPadOS and macOS versions of Safari are also expected to align further. These new features are purportedly undergoing evaluation alongside internal builds of ‌iOS 18‌ and macOS 15 ahead of their unveiling at Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC) in June. Earlier this month, backend code on Apple's servers suggested that a new Safari browsing assistant is in the works, corroborating this report.

Farther in the future, Apple is said to be working on a more powerful version of Visual Look Up that allows users to obtain information on products when browsing through images. The feature is expected to be released sometime in 2025.

Last week, Bloomberg 's Mark Gurman said that ‌iOS 18‌ will "overhaul" many of Apple's built-in apps , including Notes, Mail, Photos , and Fitness. Apple's next-generation operating systems are almost certain to be previewed during Apple's WWDC keynote on June 10, and the updates should be widely released in the fall.

2/27/24 IMPORTANT: New dates for the end of non-security updates for Windows 11, version 22H2

The new end date is June 24, 2025 for Windows 11, version 22H2 Enterprise and Education editions. Home and Pro editions of version 22H2 will receive non-security preview updates until June, 26, 2024.

After these dates, only cumulative monthly security updates will continue for the supported editions of Windows 11, version 22H2. The initial date communicated for this change was February 27, 2024. Based on user feedback, this date has been changed so more customers can take advantage of our continuous innovations .

If you want to remove the LCU

To remove the LCU after installing the combined SSU and LCU package, use the DISM/Remove-Package command line option with the LCU package name as the argument. You can find the package name by using this command: DISM /online /get-packages .

Running Windows Update Standalone Installer ( wusa.exe ) with the /uninstall switch on the combined package will not work because the combined package contains the SSU. You cannot remove the SSU from the system after installation.

One ui 6.1 has become one of samsung’s ‘most popular software updates ever’.

More than 8 million have downloaded the update since the end of March 2024

Over 8.8 million users have already downloaded Samsung's One UI 6.1 update, expanding AI features to older flagship devices.
Samsung aims to reach 100 million Galaxy AI users by the end of the year, focusing on popular features like Chat Assist and Live Translate.
Despite positive reviews, some users are unhappy with the fact that the update disables notification channels by default.

As Samsung expands upon the success of its Galaxy S24 launch and all of its AI features, it’s continuing to roll out access to the most recent software update, One UI 6.1 . By making it available to older flagship devices, more Samsung customers are getting to see the capabilities of its AI features. Although the company hasn’t been entirely transparent about when or which models will receive the update, new data suggests that many have been eager to download it.

One UI 6.1 disables one of Android's best notification features by default

According to Samsung’s Netherlands hub , more than 8.8 million people have downloaded the One UI 6.1 update since it was rolled out beyond the Galaxy S24 series back in March (via SamMobile ). Those who have a Galaxy S23 series device, the S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, or Tab S9 series have been eligible for the update. Upon downloading it, these phones have been able to access Samsung’s lauded Galaxy AI features.

Samsung eyes 100 million Galaxy AI users

The company has notably made it a goal to make sure 100 million users have access to Galaxy AI by the end of the year. It claims that some of its most-used features thus far have been Chat Assist, Live Transcribe, Circle to Search, and Live Translate. The next devices set to gain access to One UI 6.1 are the Galaxy S22 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the Galaxy Z Flip 4, and the Galaxy Tab S8 series — many of which just started receiving the update today in Korea. It’s unclear if any mid-range series will get the update, and Samsung has been mum on older models as well. That being said, it wouldn’t be entirely unsurprising if it skips some of the models that lack AI capabilities, given the complexity of One UI 6.1.

Despite the overall positive reviews of the software update so far, there are still some hang-ups that users aren’t sold on just yet. For instance, those who are new to One UI 6.1 recently noticed that notification channels were disabled by default. While it’s possible to turn them back on, it’s still a quirk worth noting, as these sorts of tweaks might delay some from installing the update.
