Reservations are not necessary and tickets can be purchased at the attraction ticket window. During a typical season the boat rides below Niagara Falls opens in late April or early May and runs until mid to late October.

All guests are issued a disposable plastic poncho to wear during the tour which will keep you reasonably dry. When the boat gets close to the Canadian Falls is where you will encounter the majority of mist. If you wish to stay dry simply move to another location on the boat where there is less mist. The tour lasts 15-20 minutes. For clothing, summer is for shorts and t-shirts. A pair of beach shoes or sneakers work fine but don’t wear anything you wouldn’t want to get damp. For spring and fall weather you need to dress appropriately for the local weather and just expect to get slightly damp. Usually you will have the ability to get great photos right up until you get close to the base of the Canadian Falls. Remember that even a slight mist on your camera lens will ruin any photo!

The entrance is in Queen Victoria Park less than a minute walk from the base of Clifton Hill. Parking is available at one of three very large parking lots near Queen Victoria Park. The closest parking lot which does require taking stairs to the park is on Clifton Hill and aptly named Clifton Hill Parking . Skylon Tower parking lot is very close to the Clifton Hill Parking lot and you can either take stairs or the sidewalk on Murray St to get to the park. For navigation use:  Skylon Tower parking lot 5200 Robinson Street Niagara Falls Ontario Canada.

Niagara Parks parking lot use:  Niagara Falls Lot #1 6650 Niagara Pkwy, Niagara Falls Ontario Canada. 

If the Niagara Parks lot is full when you enter they will direct you to one of their satellite lots which then requires using the WEGO shuttle bus service. This lot usually never fills to capacity except during the months of July and August. If you plan on visiting the brink of the Canadian Falls at Table Rock during your visit this is the most convenient parking lot to use.

Over 70% of visitors rate the Holiday Inn as very good to excellent. Location is great as it’s close to the Falls and the Fallsview Casino. There is also a great selection of nearby restaurants at the Hilton Fallsview and the Casino.

It is only a six minute walk to Queen Victoria Park and fifteen minutes to the Boat ride below the Falls ticket window. If you are not interested in all the kitsch of Clifton Hill and want to be closer to the Table Rock House and Journey Behind the Falls this is the place for you!

While the Best Western is not within walking distance of the Falls we think this is a high quality hotel for the price. Reviews are almost always very good with very few complaints.

For those of you who might visit Niagara Falls during the off-season the large swimming pool is very inviting and of course the kids just love it.

NIAGARA FALLS BOAT TOUR CANADA SIDE

In the early 1800’s there were no bridges across the Niagara River, boats were the only mode of transportation available for crossing the Niagara River, especially near Niagara Falls.  The first ferry started out near Niagara Falls on the American side of the border. The boat was christened Maid of the Mist in 1846 as a border-crossing ferry. It ferry was used to transport passengers and cargo from the US to Canada.

With the opening of a suspension bridge in 1848 between the US and Canada at Niagara Falls, the ferry’s business declined. As a result, the owners decided to convert the ferry service into a sightseeing trip of the Niagara Falls. The route was altered to take people closer to the three waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls.

In due course of time, there were two Maid of the Mist boat rides operated from either side of the Niagara River, one from the US side and the other from the Canadian side. Each followed a similar route upto the Horseshoe Falls and then back to their respective docks. Maid of the Mist stopped operating from Canada in 2013. From 2014, Niagara Falls Boat Tour Canadian Side started being operated by Hornblower, a California-based company.

Starting in the spring of 2014, Hornblower started operating the Niagara Falls Boat Tours Canada Side. Hornblower introduced state-of-the-art catamarans with a capacity of 700 passengers. The Hornblower catamaran has two hulls, improving its maneuverability.

The Niagara Falls Boat Tour Canada Side is a seasonal attraction that closes for the winter. They usually operate from April to November. Hornblower Cruises also introduced online booking of tickets.

The Niagara Falls Boat Tour Canada Side operated by Hornblower Niagara Cruises comes in four variations:

I. Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour

During peak season, boats sail every 15 minutes to reduce wait time and passenger congestion. This daytime Niagara Falls Boat Tour Canada Side is an exciting ride in the Niagara Gorge. Niagara City Cruises – Voyage to the Falls Boat Tour (Canada)

This 20-minute tour offers a close-up view of the American, Bridal Veil and Horseshoe falls, as well as the breathtaking Niagara Gorge. Now an all-electric fleet of double-decker boats, the Maid of the Mist brings riders face-to-face with the falls on a 20-minute ride. The Niagara Grand Tour takes travelers on a 20-minute helicopter ride over Niagara Falls and the surrounding region to discover sights like Niagara-on-the-Lake (known for its wineries) the whirlpool rapids and more. General admission is $69.99, though recent travelers strongly recommend upgrading to the skip-the-line ticket ($99.99) to avoid long wait times. The actual ride is pretty quick, but standard wait times can exceed an hour. A Beat-the-Heat Nighttime Experience – when the falls are illuminated – is also offered. Tours are available year-round from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday to Sunday.

Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours – Wet Jet Boat Tour (U.S. and Canada)

Price: Adults from CA$74.95 (about $55) or $64.95; kids from CA$44.95 (about $33) or $39.95, depending on departure location Duration: 45 minutes

If you're looking for a thrilling ride on Class V whitewater rapids, travelers say you can't go wrong with Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours. You'll venture along the Niagara River to the Niagara Gorge and then the Niagara Whirlpool in a motorized Wet Jet at speeds up to 55 mph. Keep in mind: This tour does not go to Niagara Falls. You will get wet, so plan to bring a change of clothing and shoes, and also dress accordingly in cold weather.

Tickets for the 45-minute tour vary by departure location: Queenston, Ontario, or Lewiston, New York. For the Ontario tour, the cost is CA$74.95 (about $55) per adult and CA$44.95 (about $33) for children ages 6 to 12. For departures from New York, tickets cost $64.95 per adult and $39.95 per child. Whirlpool Aero Car (Canada)

Take in breathtaking views of the surging Niagara Whirlpool (located at the end of the famous falls) from an antique cable car that dates back to 1916 (and has been upgraded several times since). The Whirlpool Aero Car is safely suspended by six cables as it crosses the grand Niagara Gorge. The ride, which accommodates up to 35 passengers at a time, lasts about 10 minutes. Recent riders – including those with a fear of heights – agree the long lines are worth the wait for the incredible scenery.

The Whirlpool Aero Car operates between early April and early November. Admission is CA$17.50 (about $13) for adults 13 and older and CA$11.50 (roughly $8.50) for kids between 3 and 12 years old. Tours begin at 10 a.m. every day except Wednesday, when the attraction opens at noon; closing time is 5, 6 or 7 p.m., depending on the day of the week.

Tickets purchased online are valid any day we are open during the season, but reservations for a specific date or time are not accepted. All passengers, including those with online tickets, will be boarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets purchased in person at our ticket office are only valid on the purchase day.

The prices are in U.S. dollars and include the cost of the elevator, which is necessary to reach our landing.
