Together they will deliver a world-class poker experience during every sailing aboard Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady, which offers four and five-night cruises departing from the brand’s homeport in Miami.

As an industry first, Virgin Voyages has established a standing poker venue, the exclusive “WPT at Sea” Poker Room (wptatsea.com). Utilizing eight custom poker tables and staffed with professional dealers in an incredible space on the ship, the room offers beginner training, cash games, satellites and WPT Prize Package tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $80 to $320.

The $320 buy-in “WPT at Sea” main event will be held during each sailing. Based on the number of participants, the marquee event may award a WPT prize package (valued at $5,000), which may be used on any future voyage or WPT event.

With another first, the WPT at Sea Poker Room has established a seamless experience, with cashless participation, allowing all transactions to be easily handled on Sailors’ wearable devices.

Grand Turk A haven of history and heavenly beaches This 6-night sojourn starts in Miami and spends a day sailing to the beach-ladened city of Grand Turk, followed by a day of outdoor adventure, self-care, or utter relaxation on the beaches of Puerto Plata. Spend one more day at sea sailing to Bimini, home of our famous Beach Club at Bimini, where you can sunbathe, swim in the enormous pool, and sip perfect cocktails before returning to Miami.

Grand Turk, dotted with windmills and salt ponds from its once-booming salt industry, is unlike anywhere else in the Caribbean. Check out the 60-foot-tall Grand Turk Lighthouse, or the 18th-century prison still standing in Cockburn Town. You can delve further into the island’s history at the Turks and Caicos National Museum, which contains one of the oldest excavated shipwrecks. It’s also a great place to learn about the island’s indigenous Taino people, who settled there in 700 AD.

Soar up to the top of the Pico Isabel de Torres to get a bird’s eye view of Puerto Plata or stroll by the Malecón at sea level. The technicolor Victorian facades, colonial homes and the 16th-century Fortaleza San Felipe will turn any regular Joe (or Joanna) into an architecture aficionado. On top of the sights, the Dominican Republic’s rum, cigars and cuisine keep you coming back for more (and a second serving). But, settling on a day lying on the beach is perfectly ok, too.

World Poker Tour announces 2024 at-sea WPT main event

The World Poker Tour's expanding commitment to hosting major WPT events aboard Virgin Voyages cruise ships will include a new element in 2024, when the WPT and Virgin's Valiant Lady will host the "WPT Voyage," a six-day floating series of poker events including both WPT Tour main event and WPT Prime tourneys.

Overall, the WPT Voyage will guarantee six days of poker action and $1.5 million in prize-pool guarantees. All the action will take place on board the Valiant Lady, beginning on March 31, 2004. The cruise ship will make a brief Bahamas tour while the WPT events are ongoing, visiting Grand Cayman and Bimini before returning to Miami on April 6, 2024.

The Valiant Lady will offer a specially-designed poker facility with more than 80 tables, and the WPT Voyage will center on the $5,000 Main Tour event, with offers a $1,000,000 guarantee. The accompanying $1,100 WPT Prime event has its own $500,000 guarantee. There are numerous side events as well, including a $25,000 High Roller event, a Ladies event, and a new Mystery Bounty event. Cash-game tables will also be provided.

All the action aboard the Valiant Lady next spring is in addition to the already announced "WPT at Sea" poker room aboard the Valiant Lady's sister ship, the Scarlet Lady, which was previously announced. The WPT at Sea poker room on the Scarlet Lady will be offering occasional satellite packages as well for the WPT Main/Prime event aboard the Valiant Lady next spring.

As with the WPT's plans with its Virgin Voyages partnership to embed the poker within an immersive vacation experience, the 2024 WPT Voyage will offer plenty of non-poker happenings as well. In addition to the shows, nightclubs, restaurants and other entertainments onboard the ship, special events will also include a golf tournament in Grand Cayman (hosted by WPT Executive Tour Director Matt Savage) and a massive pool party at Bimini Beach Club.
