What's the point of Voyager being able to land?
Voyager's ability to land on a planet's surface was used in a couple of episodes (The 37s, etc.).While I have no problem with the concept of doing so, I do wonder: what was the point of designing a starship with landing ability? They don't need to turn it completely off to do maintenance; in fact, they probably need to leave more of the ship active when on the surface than in space.
Planetary landing
A planetary landing was a term used to describe the landing of a starship on a planet. The Starfleet Intrepid-class, Protostar-class and the Klingon Bird-of-Prey were able to land. (VOY: "The 37's"; PRO: "Dream Catcher"; Star Trek III: The Search for Spock; Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home) Performing a planetary landing was done when the use of transporters was not possible or when the captain ...

The landing maneuver has been done a couple times on USS Voyager NCC-74656, one instance was when the Kazon attacked and commandeered the ship, marooning the crew on Hanon IV in 2372. Because Federation starships rarely need to land, few pilots have ever performed the landing procedure.

Landing capability in massive starships?
I say no. Without massive roll on/roll off capability or a setup like an amphibious landing boat there is no real advantage to setting down. All of the work on Voyager's nacelle rebuild was done by shuttle. Voyager has plenty of space suits. More resources should be found on an asteroid than on a planet.
