Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.
We hate to break the bad news but time machines don’t exist.
Nope — not even DeLoreans.
As of 2023, we’d argue the closest thing we have is live music, which can instantly transport you back to a time or place with a single sound.
And this year, we’re going back to the ’80s.
Over the next few months, many of the biggest acts from MTV’s heyday are touring all over North America and taking their fans back in time with them.
Just a few of these huge stars hitting the road include Madonna , Guns N’ Roses , Duran Duran , B-52s , Bruce Springsteen and many, many more.
In fact, over 100 more.
You wouldn’t believe it but A Flock of Seagulls , Rick Springfield , Slick Rick , Kenny G and Billy Idol are all performing live over the next few months as well.
With that being said, it doesn’t matter if singling along to “Like A Virgin,” “Welcome to the Jungle” or “Born In The U.S.A.” sends you back — we’ve got ‘something for everyone.
Below, you’ll find a comprehensive list of 107 rock, pop, hard rock, alternative rock, new wave, R&B, hip-hop, jazz, folk, country, punk and Latin concert options to choose from.
Plus, if you scroll to the bottom we have the ultimate ’80s-tastic festival.
So, if you want to re-live your Gen X glory days or catch your favorite group live for the first time, here’s who you have to see and everything you need to know about each and every tour from opening acts to tour dates to how to get tickets.
Now, fire up the time machine (and grab your shoulder pads, leg warmers, and gold lamé leotards while you’re at it) — we’re going back to the ’80s.

YES Announces 'Classic Tales Of Yes' Fall 2023 U.S. Tour
Following last year's sold-out U.S. tour, YES , who are Steve Howe (guitars, vocals), Geoff Downes (keyboards), Jon Davison (vocals, acoustic guitar), Billy Sherwood (bass guitar, vocals) and Jay Schellen (drums),have today (July 17) announced their "Classic Tales Of Yes" tour in the U.S. starting September 24 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and ending November 4 in Riverside, California. Look for the tour — which is the latest presentation of their ongoing concert series illuminating their classic music — to include many iconic tracks from the influential and pioneering Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees' catalog covering 50-plus years as well as music from their acclaimed new album "Mirror To The Sky" (released May 19 on InsideOut Music / Sony Music ).
Tickets for the tour will go on sale July 21. Go to www.yesworld.com/live for ticketing information.
Looking forward to the "Classic Tales Of Yes" tour, Howe said: "We're putting together a great setlist covering the length and breadth of YES 's career."
Downes added: "As always, we are committed to pushing new boundaries and are very excited to be performing another chapter in the rich legacy of the band."
The evening will begin with an on-site presentation by world-renowned English artist and designer Roger Dean , whose masterful artwork of striking otherworldly landscapes has graced classic album covers and posters, most prominently by YES and ASIA . Every show will feature a Roger Dean gallery in the venue's reception/foyer area. His work — which also appears on the cover of "Mirror To The Sky" — has sold more than one hundred million copies worldwide.
"Mirror To The Sky" features not one, but four tracks clocking in at over eight minutes, with the sweeping and cinematic title track coming in just shy of fourteen minutes. What's more, the tracks, like YES 's best, take the listener on a wide dynamically ranging journey of soundscapes which also showcase Steve Howe 's dazzling guitars, Jon Davison 's angelic, crystalline vocals, Billy Sherwood 's deftly dancing bass, keyboard wizard Geoff Downes 's impeccable sounds, exquisite melodies and fills, and Jay Schellen 's masterfully controlled explosions, on drums. Jay Schellen , who has been touring with the band since 2016 as an additional drummer, was hand-picked to step into his mentor and friend Alan White role when White sadly passed away in 2022.
Ultimate Classic Rock raved that " 'Mirror In The Sky' breezes from one musical highlight to the next so deftly that you're wanting more." (May 17). Glide Magazine observed that "Mirror To The Sky" succeeds at proving the idea that YES music will carry on long after the original members pass in a very special way. As the producer of this twenty-third studio album, [ Steve ] Howe has stepped in and helped create a soundscape in the vein of their classic material." (May 18). Guitar World noted that "There's a lot of classic prog keyboard and guitar interplay across 'Cut From The Stars' , but there's lovely stuff from about 4.30 where Steve Howe and Geoff Downes exchange melodic pot shots." (March 16).

I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG

Bastille Unveil Tour Dates With This Legendary '80s Band
By Katrina Nattress
February 9, 2023
Bastille has always added an '80s aesthetic to their sound, so it only makes sense for them to support a band from that era on tour. And that's exactly what they're doing.
On Wednesday (February 8), the electro-pop outfit revealed they were hitting the road with Duran Duran . Nile Rodgers and Chic will also be opening on all tour dates.
“It’s remarkable to me that as a band, we are still hitting new milestones, and introducing the sound of DD to new generations of music lovers,” Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon said in a statement. “We are truly grateful that we get to do what we do on a daily basis, and that we still love our job as much as we did when we started out some four decades ago.”
It is unclear if guitarist Andy Taylor , who's currently being treated for Stage IV prostate cancer , will be joining the band on tour. See a full list of dates below.

Music | jung hoo lee leaves injured in 1st inning as sf giants can’t catch a break, music | depeche mode, duran duran, cure prove fans just can’t get enough of the ’80s, the bay area concert calendar is packed with ’80s acts in 2023.
Well, we just checked our phone and it indeed says that it’s 2023. Yet, one could be forgiven for thinking that it’s actually three or four decades earlier than that given the Bay Area concert calendar — which is just loaded with modern rock acts from the ‘80s.
Of course, it’s not unusual to see bands from that era on the docket, given the public’s undying love for music and pop culture from the decade of leg warmers, Cabbage Patch Kids and Walkmans.
Yet this year’s offering is going to be absolutely huge — like ‘80s hair huge — led by three of the era’s biggest bands hitting the road.
It all starts this weekend when the mighty Depeche Mode kicks off its Memento Mori World Tour with two shows in Northern California. Not long after that, two more Rock and Roll Hall of Fame acts — the Cure and Duran Duran — are also set to perform individual shows in the area.
Those are the three biggies, for sure, but there are a ton of other cool ‘80s and early ‘90s modern rock acts heading for the Bay Area over the next few months.
Some of the riches can certainly be linked to the mammoth Cruel World festival in Pasadena on May 20. So many cool new wave, punk and alt-rock acts are set to perform there and, thankfully, a number have decided to add Bay Area dates to their itineraries as well.
So pour yourself a tasty Alabama Slammer and let’s look at the some of the retro new wave/modern rock fun that is in store for music fans. We’ll tackle things chronologically.
Depeche Mode
The legendary electronic music act, which was enshrined into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the amazing 2020 class, kicks off its 19th concert tour with shows on March 23 at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento and March 25 at SAP Center in San Jose. Depeche Mode also has a Dec. 3 date scheduled for Chase Center in San Francisco. The group, featuring vocalist Dave Gahan and multitalented musician Martin Gore, is supporting its 15th studio album, “Memento Mori,” due out March 24.

The Men at Work leader will be very busy during his NorCal stay, playing acoustic shows at the Golden State Theatre in Monterey on April 10, the Crest Theatre in Sacramento on April 12, the Uptown Theatre Napa on April 13 and the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in San Francisco on April 15. Hay has recorded more than a dozen solo albums, but we suspect most people are still buying tickets mainly to re-experience the MTV classics “Down Under” and “Who Can It Be Now?”
Information: colinhay.com
The iconic punk-rock band still features all four of its founding members — vocalist Exene Cervenka, vocalist-bassist John Doe, guitarist Billy Zoom and drummer D. J. Bonebrake — which means that you really don’t want to miss catching X when it performs a two-night stand, April 14-15, at the Guild Theatre in Menlo Park. The group’s first two albums — 1980’s “Los Angeles” and 1981’s “Wild Gift” — still rank among the genre’s very best. James Intveld opens the shows.

They Might Be Giants
The Brooklyn-based art-rock duo, consisting of the two Johns (Flansburgh and Linnell), is set to perform at the Fillmore in San Francisco on April 15 and the Fox Theater in Oakland on April 16. The shows will be two-set offerings, highlighted by TMBG performing its most popular album — “Flood” — in its entirety. So, get ready for the massive sing-along during “Istanbul (Not Constantinople).”

Granted, no one thinks of Iggy as a ‘80s or ‘90s new wave/modern rock act. After all, he started making music in the late ‘60s on his way to earning the moniker “the Godfather of Punk.” Yet, he is one of the top-billed acts at Cruel World. And he’s also really, really good. So, we’re making an exception and happily including his April 22 date at The Masonic in San Francisco in our roundup.

The pop-rock powerhouse, best known for the mesmerizing ‘80s anthem “Don’t Dream It’s Over,” supports the (comparatively) new album “Dreamers Are Waiting” on May 6 at the Fox Theater in Oakland. It’s the band’s seventh studio album and its first to hit shelves since “Intriguer” in 2010. Neil Finn’s son Liam is pulling double duty on the night, performing with the headliner as well as in his own solo set.

Echo and the Bunnymen
Another one of Cruel World’s top attractions, this Liverpool modern-rock outfit is set to delight fans at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga on May 19. It should be great to hear guitarist Will Sergeant and vocalist Ian McCulloch mine such seminal Echo albums as “Crocodiles,” “Heaven Up Here,” “Porcupine” and “Ocean Rain” in such a wonderfully picturesque setting.

Love and Rockets
Born from the (initial, pre-reunion) ashes of Bauhaus, this English post-punk act released a string of highly cherished albums in the ‘80s – including “Express” and “Earth, Sun, Moon.” It’s been well over a decade since this trio — consisting of Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins – embarked on a concert tour. So, expect fans to turn out in force when Love and Rockets plays the Fox Theater in Oakland on May 21.

Human League, Modern English
Make no mistake about it: The best new wave doubleheader of 2023 is scheduled for May 23 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. We’re most excited about finally getting to see the Human League, the English synth-pop act known for such hits as “(Keep Feeling) Fascination,” “Human” and, of course, “Don’t You Want Me.” But we also want to sing along with Modern English on the timeless prom anthem “I Melt With You.”

Duran Duran
These 2022 Rock Hall inductees launch their North American tour will a big set at BottleRock Napa Valley on May 27, a day that also features such talents as Lizzo, Carly Rae Jepsen and – oh, yes! – Nile Rodgers and Chic. The band then heads south to San Jose to delight fans with such smashes as “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “The Reflex” and “Rio” at the SAP Center on May 28. Duran Duran returns to NorCal on Aug. 24 to perform at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

It’s going to be a packed Memorial Day weekend for ‘80s modern rock fans, as they balance seeing Duran Duran with making sure to also catch the Cure at Shoreline Amphitheatre on May 27. And, really, it’s the latter that may well rank as the most powerful live act on this entire list. So, get ready to swoon with Robert Smith and company as they hit town on what’s reportedly their first North American tour in seven years.

Belinda Carlisle
The SoCal ‘80s music legend is back with “Big Big Love,” which is Carlisle’s first new pop song in 25 years. Fans will likely get to hear the number when the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer — who was enshrined as a member of the Go-Go’s in 2021 — brings her solo-career-spanning Decades Tour to the Blue Note Napa Sessions at the Silverado Resort in Napa on Aug. 18 and August Hall in San Francisco on Aug. 20.

Natalie Merchant
Sure, she’s best known these days for her solo career, which kicked off with the quintuple-platinum-selling debut “Tigerlily” in 1995. Yet, we prefer the work Merchant did with 10,000 Maniacs and hope that she draws particularly from 1987’s “In My Tribe” during her shows at the Masonic in San Francisco on Sept. 26 and the Mountain Winery in Saratoga on Sept. 27.

Fuerza Regida new album scores Pero No Te Enamores tour: How to get tickets, concert dates
Fresas y beliconas, get ready for another unforgettable Fuerza Regida tour.
The Mexican American band, hailing from San Bernadino, California, announced a 32-date U.S. arena tour produced by Live Nation on Tuesday. Fuerza Regida's Pero No Te Enamores Tour (But Don't Fall in Love Tour) will kick off June 6 in Austin, Texas, at the Moody Center, followed by a June 9 concert in Edinburg, Texas, at the Bert Ogden Arena.
The five-man group, fronted by singer Jesús Ortiz Paz, will also play dates in San Diego, Phoenix, Seattle, San Jose, Las Vegas, San Antonio and Palm Desert. In October and November, Fuerza Regida will head to Mexico for seven shows before returning to the U.S. for its last show in Inglewood, California, at the Intuit Dome on Nov. 16.

Jesús Ortiz Paz of Fuerza Regida talks Mexican music's global rise
Fuerza Regida's upcoming nationwide tour follows a 2023 full of major accomplishments for the group.
In October, the group released its biggest album to date, "Pa Las Baby's Y Belikeada," which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard's Latin Albums chart and reached the Top 15 of the Billboard 200. Standout hits from the album include "TQM," "Sabor Fresa" and "Harley Quinn," which each charted on the Billboard Hot 100. "Harley Quinn," a collaboration with Marshmello, became the band's first-ever No. 1 hit on the Latin Airplay chart.
"Pa Las Baby's Y Belikeada" also earned Fuerza Regida a pair of awards — Top Duo/Group and Top Latin Duo/Group — at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards in November.
In a 2023 interview with USA TODAY, Paz spoke about Fuerza Regida leading the movement in expanding the global reach of Mexican music.
"We got into this business six years ago, and there was nothing like it," he said. "So, we're pioneers of this too. It took six years for us because everyone has a different career, but for us, to see Mexican music go global — there are no words. We're up with the rappers, the reggaetoneros. Mexican music's No. 1 right now."
Most recently, the band released its EP, "Dolido Pero No Arrepentido." The album debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Regional Mexican Albums chart.
"The goal is to keep on staying on top, and like they say, 'Hard work beats talent.' So, we just don't stop working," Paz added. "And hopefully in the next six years, we're still on top, making global hits and still selling out stadiums and arenas — that's what we wish for, and hopefully it goes down."
When do Fuerza Regida tickets go on sale?
Tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time at livenation.com
Fans can also purchase VIP packages, which may include premium tickets, access to the VIP after-party with band members, soundcheck, a meet-and-greet, a group photo with Fuerza Regida, pre-show VIP lounge access, specially designed VIP gift items and more. Taylor Swift is about to go back on tour: Here's what to expect on the Eras Tour in Paris
After a two-month break, Taylor Swift is revitalizing her titanic Eras Tour in Paris, and fans believe there are changes coming to the show.
If you are wondering where she's playing, if there will be changes and how to score tickets, here's everything we know.
And if you're new to the Eras Tour party, you can get caught up on the first 83 shows here .
When does the Eras Tour start again?
Swift kicks off the European leg of her tour on Thursday, May 9, in Paris. She will perform Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, as well, in the City of Light.
Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.
What are Taylor Swift's tour dates in Europe?
There are 69 shows left in the Eras Tour: 51 in Europe, nine in America and nine in Canada.
The European leg stretches from May all the way through a five-night stand at Wembley Stadium in London in mid-August.
See a complete list of international dates here .
After she wraps up in Europe, Swift will stop in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis before wrapping up in Canada.
See the remaining U.S. dates here .
What is the Eras Tour set list?
The Eras Tour has featured a massive 45-song set list you can check out here . But speculation is swirling it won't look the same when Swift takes the stage in Paris.
Will Taylor Swift add 'The Tortured Poets Department' to her set list?
The tortured poet has been on hiatus keeping her stamina up by releasing a double album of 31 tracks. The 2-hours-and-2-minutes project broke a number of Billboard records as the superstar did zero press to promote it. Fans flocked to stores and streaming services to listen to all the songs from "Fortnight" to "The Manuscript."
Although the singer has not confirmed whether her 11th era album will be added to her Eras Tour set list, she did post a YouTube shorts video with two scenes that sent Easter egg decoders into a frenzy. In one of the shots, the singer is next to a railing where a "TTPD" logo appears to be (at 0:11). In the succeeding shot, her back-up dancers perform holding canes and wearing top hats, something they have not worn previously.
Swift's dancers and bandmates posted to their Instagram stories as they left for France last week. The singer did not appear at two media events with her boyfriend Travis Kelce: the Kentucky Derby and a Formula 1 race in Miami , Florida. Patrick Mahomes, Kelce's friend and Kansas City's quarterback, attended the car racing spectacular with his wife, Brittany.
Can I still get Eras Tour tickets?
Swift's show is completely sold out in Europe and North America. There are resale sites with tickets, but be wary of scams. The best way to avoid getting swindled is continuously checking links on Swift's website . There are some for resale on the sites verified by her camp.
Singapore was a hotbed for fans who traveled thousands of miles only to get turned away at the venue. In Tokyo and Australia, last-minute ticket drops happened a few days — without announcement — ahead of the shows.
Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis — the three U.S. cities Swift is visiting in the fall — have some of the heftiest price tags with Canada closely behind. In may be cheaper to travel to Warsaw, Poland, or Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Here's a list of cities with the cheapest resale tickets, according to travel website Islands.com .
10. Vienna, Austria — total average cost: $1,089, safety score: 69.72
9. Cardiff, U.K. — total average cost: $1,061, safety score: 61.83
8. Lyon, France — total average cost: $1,047, safety score: 44.3
7. Lisbon, Portugal — total average cost: $1,028, safety score: 70.15
6. Munich, Germany — total average cost: $1,000, safety score: 78.88
5. Paris, France — total average cost: $971, safety score: 41.83
4. Stockholm, Sweden — total average cost: $935, safety score: 53.86
3. Hamburg, Germany — total average cost: $903, safety score: 57.51
2. Gelsenkirchen, Germany — total average cost: $749, safety score: 51.33

Who are the opening acts?
Paramore launched the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023, so it's fitting the American rock band is opening the tour's second year. The act will open for Swift for 51 shows across Europe . The band was dubbed the 2024 Record Store Day global ambassador and surprised fans in Nashville the weekend following the release of "The Tortured Poets Department."
When the tour comes back to North America in October , Swift's opening act will be Gracie Abrams.
Where can I watch if I don't have tickets?
The Eras Tour is one of the first tours that has been followed, globally, by thousands of fans on digital platforms. Fans dedicate part of their concert experience to livestreaming as Swift performs. A few Swifties have learned how to host their own shows over social media including Tess Bohne , known as the livestream queen. Bohne goes live for (almost) every show pulling streams from Instagram and TikTok. When a livestream goes down, she fills the time with banter.
On YouTube, user @TaylorSwiftHockeyBro also livestreams the three-hour show, and on Twitch, @folkleric , is a host fans follow.
There is also an app, Swift Alert , that notifies fans who only want to watch certain eras like the acoustic, surprise set. The app sends out push alerts if there are any major announcements.
What secret songs are left?
For the past 83 shows, Swift has played an acoustic set she customizes at each stop with a guitar and piano performance. In 2024, the Eras Tour star added mashups of her songs for each stop. Here are the songs she has yet to perform:
- "Taylor Swift" (debut album): "Mary's Song" and "A Perfectly Good Heart"
- "Fearless": "The Way I Loved You," "Change," "Superstar," "We Were Happy," "That's When," "Don't You" and "Bye Bye Baby"
- "Red": "Girl At Home," "Ronan," "Forever Winter" and "Run"
- "1989": "Sweeter Than Fiction"
- "Reputation": "I Did Something Bad"
- "Lover": "London Boy," "Soon You'll Get Better" and "It's Nice to Have a Friend"
- "Folklore": "Hoax"
- "Evermore": "Happiness" and "Closure"
- "Midnights": "Paris" and "Glitch"
- "The Tortured Poets Department": all 31 tracks
Will Taylor Swift perform in 2025?
There have been many rumors that Swift will continue her show in 2025, but they are only rumors. Nothing has been announced for next year, and as of now, the tour will end in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Dec. 8.
